Kennedy Dupes Republicans on Immigration Bill

Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The world’s greatest deliberative body, the U.S. Senate, is expected to move with blazing speed this week to vote on a massive immigration reform bill that grants amnesty to 12 million illegal aliens. It doesn’t matter that no bill even existed prior to Friday or that senators were given little time to read the 1,000-page tome. Like it or not, America is about to be saddled with Sen. Ted Kennedy’s solution for immigration reform.

Chief negotiator for the Amnesty Now crowd, Kennedy exacted so many concessions from the White House and Senate Republicans that the bill ought to carry his name. If you thought the Kennedy-crafted No Child Left Behind Act was devastating, well, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Conservatives will be especially disappointed. They’ve already watched President Bush sell out to Kennedy on education and Medicare reform. But Bush’s collusion with the Massachusetts Democrat on immigration reform threatens to alienate them permanently. Heaven forbid that Bush try to reform anything else in his remaining 20 months in office.

Of course, the President doesn’t bear all the responsibility. Many Republicans in Congress are equally responsible for failing to protect the principles that voters sent them to Washington to defend. Conservatives have come to expect such behavior from Republicans such as Sen. Arlen Specter, the Pennsylvania moderate. The shocker is that conservative Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) went along with it.

The GOP’s failure on immigration reform is most astounding because the issue is crystal clear: There are those who follow the law and those who break it. If one issue galvanized conservatives, this was it. Some have even traveled to the U.S.-Mexico border to safeguard our country. Two Republican members of the U.S. House, Reps. Duncan Hunter (Calif.) and Tom Tancredo (Colo.), launched long-shot presidential bids because of the issue.

As defenders of the rule of law, conservatives have always maintained that anyone wanting to enter the United States -- much less reap the benefits of citizenship -- must do so legally. The deal that Kennedy negotiated violates that principle.

More than 20 years ago, President Ronald Reagan and Congress experimented with amnesty. It failed miserably. Nearly 3 million illegal aliens were legalized in 1986. Former Attorney General Edwin Meese III, who served under Reagan when the law was enacted, regrets the deal today.

Unfortunately, Bush is repeating the mistake -- only this time the consequences are even more significant. The deal cut by the White House grants 12 million illegal aliens immediate and indefinite amnesty.

As Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said last week, “This rewards people who broke the law with permanent legal status, and puts them ahead of millions of law-abiding immigrants waiting to come to America. I don’t care how you try to spin it, this is amnesty.

Kyl, the lead conservative involved in the immigration negotiations, tried to spin it. “I think because of the influence that I and other conservatives brought to the table this time, the bill is far more conservative, more restrictive than the bill that passed last year,” he told CNN’s Lou Dobbs after the compromise was reached.

That’s not saying much, especially since Kyl’s partner last year on immigration legislation, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.), was among the first to criticize the compromise.

Cornyn expressed hope that senators would have an opportunity to amend the bill once it reached the Senate floor. But with Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) eager to pass it before senators leave town for their week-long Memorial Day vacation, conservatives face an uphill battle.

That’s one reason 15 conservative senators began demanding last month that they have at least a week to review the bill before it’s brought up for debate. They also wanted it posted online in order to give the public an opportunity to critique and analyze it before a vote.

Almost as bad as what’s in the 1,000-page bill is the way Reid plans to ram it through the Senate, skirting any semblance of meaningful debate in favor of political expediency. It begs the question: How fast does the average senator read, much less deliberate these days?

Everyone
Anything with Kennedy's grubby hands on it is a major screwing for America.

McCain duped himself
by hoeing after the MSM, ignoring talk radio, and listening to the Leftie Loser activists who swamp him with advice.

We wonder why McCain keeps being surprised by his lackluster showing in the polls, until we realize that he has shunned invitations from conservative talk show hosts, and keeps showing up at the Libster dominated Sunday shows on TV.

I feel bad that John McCain suffered while a POW in Vietnam, and I thank him for his military service to the country.

However, his Senatorial service has proven to be less than stellar, and this bill he conspired to foist upon us by colluding with the likes of Teddy (*urp*) Kennedy, well, it seals the lid on any hopes he had for a successful Presidential campaign.

Kennedy and rule of law?
Does the word Chappaquiddick ring a bell? Laws about leaving the scenes of accidents? Especially when young women are drowning? That the Kennedy we're talking about? What would HE know about rule of law?

Further, let's remember that not all Repubs were sold any bill of goods, and I specifically mean McCain, who can kiss his presidential aspirations goodbye, thank God. We can lump in Spector, sellout Kyl, and a whole lot more who walked into this with their eyes wide open.

And of course, the worst of the lot, Jorge Bush, who seems to believe he's actually El Presidente of Mexico.

The Republicans who
support this piece of slime legislation have not been duped. They know perfectly well what they are doing, and they know what the results of this amnesty will be.

George Bush is traitor who makes Benedict Arnold look very good by comparison. The Republicans in the Senate and House who support amnesty are traitors too. The only question I have is how do you rate those traitors in terms of culpability.

I think that a traitor is a traitor, is a traitor. Every one of them needs to be jailed.

Fool me Once, Shame on You...
fool me twice, shame on me. The shame blame game rests square on the GOP that has backed financially the re-election campaigns of these TRAITOROUS RINOS. The RINOS are not the problem; it is the GOP that funds RINOS' re-election campaigns allowing them to fool the electorate long enough to get elected. The GOP has lost its integrity and has become as reckless as the Democrats for political power at the cost of integrity and statesmanship. The wanton greed and lust for power of these two parties has now cost us the security of this nation. I hope this legislation seals thefate of both the GOP and the Democratic Parties. Both parties have defied the will of consistently 80% of the American electorate - that's Conservatives and Liberals and Moderates of all political persuasuions across the board. Hopefully, this will usher in a new political era devoid of corporate and special interest whoremongering politicians, an era of Libertarian versus Constitution party politics instead of the tired ol' GOP versus Democrat corrupt politics. We need to erase the slate and start all over from scratch.

the only people duped are on this site.
no govt, no party, no majority exisits or will ever exist to deport 13 million people. you people are in your own little amen corner. obviously bush and kennedy are smarter than your little boot em collective.

people break immigration laws because they are stupid. just like drugs, people respond todemand. we create crime and more problems by not recognizing reality solely to play up to ignorant small voter blocs.

since no part of the plan can take place until after the new security measures are in place, a repeat of earlier reform is not a valid argument.

there is no solid amnesty argument. you may dissagree but most sentient thinking human beings know that a large fine and a 13 year wait with uncertain ending are penalty enough. afterall they are here because we need them.

as to the silly ignorant we must preserve our culture and define who, how, what anyone daring to come here does. put a fork in yerselves, yer done. learn spanish. trying to reverse demographics thank the lord is not possible.

america has hated every new immigrant class that has ever come here, most illegal. my grandparents bribed their way into the states at the turn of the century. it ain't new. new arrivals have always used shifty means to get here. americans always hate new arrivals, and they are always wrong. maybe you chest thumpers think we shoulda kept out catholics, or the irish, or italians, certainly the poles, do not forget the puerto ricans..... you people sing tired old failing songs. wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

we need these people. we need to have different people here. we need the life blood that new people with different cultures, speaking different languages working their way up provides. there language is fine. families are wonderful. restaraunts are excellent so get over yerselves. with or without this bill the usa is going to become much more hispanic. i suggest a little reality medication and some spanish lessons. also, when you have a son or daughter that brings home an illegal to marry, remember its karma, you deserve it, and likely it will improve your family.

Let me differ on a few points
Actually I like the article and it hit the high points squarely, but....

The U.S.Senate has long lost the title of the world's most deliberative body, that went out the window with the Clarence Thomas nomination to the Supreme Court. I can only think of the Roman Senate in it's worst decline after that.

Then there was the "Gang of 14" who effectively by-passed defining a filibuster. Now it automatically takes 60 members to do anything. Just in time for the Dems to kill the GOP voice. [Not that they had much of one but the Senate now forces compromises on everything]

It is very nice and becoming very publically apparent that Congress (both houses) vote on stuff that hasn't been written or read yet. HELLO AMERICA? The politicians write their own ticket in addition to their own salary and perk increases.

Washington and State legislatures are filled with folks living in an alternative universe which effects ours but is seldom effected by ours. I hope this most basic issue, the future face of America, will get folks off their couches even more that the Bridge to Nowhere did for the republicans.

When illegal aliens are given breaks that no others get, benefits at little or no cost to them, leave legal applicants in the dust and corrupt/ignore our culture, we are no longer a Nation. We are a Mob. And a Mob will vote themselves into prosperity and the entire population into Socialism if not Communism.

I wish the election was this November. Then I'd know if I were still living in America before Thanksgiving. But it looks like I'll have little to be thankful for if the Senate, as it is now, is successful.

gc, you have an anger problem
And your tin-foil hat slipped a bit.

America always hated immigrants? Did they catch hell, some did. Did they assimulate and become accepted, they did.

Did they learn and speak English? Yes.
Where they proud to become Americans? Yes.
Did they die defending America in wars? Yes.
Are there ethnic cultures and food Americans enjoy? Yes.

But these people call themselves Americans first, bought with sweat, blood and sacrifice. They don't march with a foreign flag, demand "Rights" they don't earn and tell us we stole their country from under them. Like the American Indians weren't here before the Spainards?

Pack your bags and hit the road. And learn that the shift key produces upper case letters.

The President, the Senate, & Congressmen
all swear to abide by the US Constitution and US law in the affairs of their office and in the laws which they legislate. The President further swears to uphold and defend and enforce the Constitution and the laws of the United States. It is plainly obvious to see that we have all three of these government entities in overt, flagrant, treacherous, and contemptuous violation of their oaths of office - charges that are impeachable offenses for the President and all members of the Senate and Congress who vote for sanctioning this criminal behavior. It is plainly clear to me that when all is said and done and the dust clears, it will become painfully evident to all Americans that all ofthese treacherous politicians have been bought off by a very powerful cartel of highly influential CEOS of international and/or global corporations in the Council of Foreign Relations, a body composed almost exclusively of bigtime corporate international CEO's who seek to establish major international trade blocs, the dissolution of national sovereignty, borders, and border regulation to facilitate trade, and eventually world government to regulate business fair trade practices and profitability. Bush had a meeting in Waco, Texas, with the CFR of America and the counterpart CFR-type organizations from Mexico and Canada in November, 2005. It was the ndecided that the three-nation zone should become a trade-bloc with no borders - only "a perimeter" to be secured. It was also where it was decided that the so-called Superhighway would run from Mexico to Canada through the US with unfettered free-flow access across all national borders. This Superhighway is currently under construction in Texas as we type(speak). Our lawyers(elected Representatives) in Dc are feeding their appetite for greed and wanton lust for political power from the teats of Corporate America. Corporate America has an agenda that began with NAFTA and CAFTA and now extends to the a Superhighway and Illegal Iimmigration. We have been completely BETRAYED by this apostate government in DC and their willing accomplices in the mainstream Liberal press and the chronically asleep-at-the-wheel Bushbots like Rush, Medved, Barnes, Hewitt, O'Reilly, and Hannity that have played us like a flute for far too long. Wake up, America, and smell the rotten, stinking coffee that Jorge Bush just threw in your face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I'll add something gc
The curbs you mention about 13 years and fines or fees, border control and employment verification were covered by the 1986 compromise.

NONE of it happened. I have no doubt that this new pack of lies will be any different. The federal track record is nearly zip.

Any doubt why we think this is all crap?

wow marc
tad bit of the anger issue you seem to know a lot about. sizzle.

the vast majority of illegal immigrants try very hard to learn english, which by the way ain't too special. traditionally though it takes 2 generations to fully assimilate. that is true of all new arrival cultures. my grandmother, a citzen for almost 80 years before she died, never did get it. my father spoke both languages. i do not know their native language. that is the norm

as to being americans, hispanics are serving in the american armed forces, many illegals too by the way, in numbers exceeding their population here. so you can stick that trash. you just ain't that special. just to tweak you though, my family always had a greek flag hanging around, did not seem to stop many family members from armed service for the usa .... we really did not think it was an issue. maybe you are just touchy.

and marc, on the net, we generally do not use caps. you must be new up here. however, if you care to, you will not hear a peep out of me. i have neither anger or control problems. do brush up on that spanish tho, yer gonna need it. ciao chico.

Here's the NAFTA-CFR link...
http://www.cfr.org/content/publications/attachments/NorthAmerica_TF_final.pdf

and my apologies: thye met in March of 2005, not November of 2005. Their stated goal as seen in the "Foreword" section is the establishment by 2010 of a borderless three-nation trade-bloc whose security will be established and maintained by securing the outer "perimeter" of our three nations - NOT OUR INTERNAL BORDERS! HOw's that for getting rid of US sovereignty??? It's stated right in the document. Bush attended this meeting in Waco, Texas in March of 2005 and acquiesced to its stated goals. There is no wonder he is dismantling our bordr and our sovereignty. When Bush leaves office in 2008, he will be HANDSOMELY REWARDED for this by his buddies in major bigtime international corporations. He will most assuredly serve on several corporate boards with a handsome paycheck for sacrificing American sovereignty to pave the way for maximized profits for Corporate America. YOU ALL JUST WATCH! Clinton was overt in his criminality. Bush is just the opposite; he's as covert as that sh!t-eatin' grin he tries to hide behind his "compassionate conservatism" moniker.

gc
Yep, we sure do need these folks, bankrupting our hospitals, swamping our social services, overwhelming our schools, ratcheting up crime, demanding their "rights," insisting they be given citizenship and even Social Security benefits. Meanwhile, as Mexico unloads its uneducated and unskilled labor on us, it brutalizes people trying to cross its own southern border. This is nothing more than an invasion. Lock and load!

To GC
You said "as to being americans, hispanics are serving in the american armed forces".

When I was in the Navy there were a lot of Philippine nationals serving in the Navy. They volunteered for this because after 6 years service they could get US citizenship. I am sure that this is the same thing with the Hispanics; that is if they are not already US citizens.

Your point about them serving in Iraq means absolutely nothing. We here do not object to legal immigrants. It’s the illegals that we object to.

gc, we don't agree, that's obvious
But saying "as to being americans, hispanics are serving in the american armed forces, many illegals too by the way, in numbers exceeding their populaton here. so you can stick that trash. you just ain't that special."

When the American military troop numbers exceed the numbers of illegal aliens in CA alone I'll eat my words and kiss your bumber. Car bumber, that is.

And if "yo" think caps ain't around, check out all the other posts on these commentaries.

yah, i'm new up here, if you wish to think so, i also speak english. i was born here. my wife wasn't, not even from this continent. like you are special?

I agree that no current existing political party is going to do jack about controling mass migration. I can't even call it immigration.

When you state "there is no solid amnesty agreement. you may disagree but most sentient thinking human beings know that a large fine........etc.

Plant sentient somewhere physical. In the dark. Who made you Superior?

I'd argue that most sentient human beings agree that there is no written Bill yet. But to question who is sentient, you are not the judge.

Shift key pardner. Join the folks and give up the programmer bs.

UNCLE TEDDY'S AMNESTY
In regard to The New Amnesty(we promise THIS one will be the last one....and this time we mean it!) Yeah right, sneaky Congressmen...we don't believe you liars and cheats anymore.

So my fellow Americans, you bring the tar, I'll bring the feathers. This rogue Government needs a lesson in how things work here. They are not Kings, they are just slobs who got elected to represent AMERICANS, not to represent foreigners....and especially not ILLEGAL ONES! They are supposed to represent American TAXPAYERS, not global corporatists.

These idiots in Congress are guiltier than the illegals. We should throw their keisters in prison where they belong.

Taxation without Representation is TYRANY!

Enough is enough!

GC
Either you are an illegal, or you are an idiot. Which do you prefer?

The illegal problem is simple to solve...if we had a REAL GOVERNMENT who was interested in solving the problem. Instead, they will make it worse and cause a civil war to boot. They better hire illegals to build them a deep bunker, they are going to need to hide.

Bluey Turns Blue?
As the details of the immigration bill begin to emerge, here come the demagogues, including Bluey, scurrying around like cockroaches in a Bronx tenement. On the consevative side, there is one thoughtful, realistic essay about the immigration proposals, and I wrote it Saturday (yesterday). You can find it by clicking on my name above.

Much better conservatives than the self-righteous Mr. Bluey -- people like John Kyl and Saxby Chambliss -- say this is the best bill we can get. They are right, which won't stop Bluey and friends from "waving the bloody shirt" to pick up political support.

My friends, it's this bill -- or its a bill written later by Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi. Does anybody deny that? If so, on what basis?

Holding our breath until we turn blue is not an adequate conservative response.

steve

The issue
Let's get the facts staight.

This isn't about immigration, or immigrants. Immigration is a legal process in which foreign nationals request, and receive, permission to enter the country for THAT purpose.

This is mainly about 'temporary' foreign laborers who, not even bothering to acquire a passport from their country of origin, also chose not to enter the country via existing 'temporary worker' programs--but rather, illegally.

Their failure to obtain even a passport from their home country does NOT mean that America's immigration system is broken.

Their decision not to avail themselves of existing 'guest worker' programs does NOT mean that America's immigration system is broken.

Their decision not to avail themselves of existing IMMIGRATION programs does NOT mean that America's immigration system is broken.

Their inability to pass background or medical checks does NOT mean that America's immigration system is broken.

Being hired by dishonest American employers does NOT mean that America's immigration system is broken.

My wife is an immigrant. I sponsored her into the country 32 years ago, and is a Naturalized U.S. citizen. She didn't come here to work (although she has worked (legally) for three decades. She came here to immigrate. And she will always be an immigrant.

So-called 'immigrant' rallies have nothing to do with Arnold Schwarenegger, Ariana Huffington, George Soros, or my humble wife.

Illegal aliens are not immigrants.

So, let's stop calling them immigrants.

This bill does have one thing going for
it, if it makes it through.

It has provisions for civil and criminal penalties that are increased much over the bill approved in 1986. This bill has provisions of up to 5 years in jail.

Now the question is, will it be inforced? The original bill never was.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c110:1:./temp/~c1100OEnZE:e938760:

Kennedy is poison
Kennedy was respons. for the 1966 immigration "reform" that emphasizes "people of color" over white European immigrants. He was a leading voice for amnesty in 1986 and the "family reunification" idiocy that means one foreign baby born here can become an immediate citizen and then bring doz.'s of relatives into the nation. Kennedy's No Child Left Behind (orig. a Kennedyb idea) has created alienation and hatred of Bush by millions of teachers. As far as immigrants' contributing to the US, all of us are immigrants or their descendants. However, immigration that allows 15-20-30 million illegals roam the nation unidentified is not "immigration" but invasion and a national security issue. Whether or not illegals contribute to the ec. is specious. Felons should not be rewarded by the gov't for their criminality. I don't care that it's fed. law or only civil law. Or if some are in the armed services. In CA, illegals are over 50% of the prison pop., 4% work on farms, and 43% receive some kind of gov't monetaryv support. I don't think that's a "fair" tradeoff for a few manual laborers. They corrupt bankers who open accounts for them. They may pay local sales taxes, but they don't file state and federal returns. They don't pay into Soc. Sec. and and Medicare or workmen's comp. and disability because they are paid in cash or otherwise illegally. In Ariz., N.Mex., TX, Nev. and CA, they are actually closing hosp.'s that are overwhelmed by illegals' medical demands. They are the ruination of many pub. school systems that cannot keep up with their children's lack of Eng. and laws that demand schools provide them spec. lang. classes. Indentify them and send them home. Eisenhower did it in 1956; we can do itb today.

Kennedy's the problem?
No, our over-grown Frat boy President is the problem.

It will take decades for the world to recover from this disasterous Administration.

President Obama!!!!!!

joyce
i am legal, an american citizen, born here to american born parents, a long standing very right wing conservative, and a retired educated business owner. do you people really think all smart people think like you? heck, that ain't smart.

if we had what kind of govt joyce? a mussolini type? venezuelan? what type of govt is going to round up 13 million people? you want that? gimme a break. step into reality.

MARC. you are correct, i am not special either. also the shift key is only used by newbies. you'll learn. unti then tranquillo carmillo. it is the height of emotional unhealthiness to need others to change in order for you to be happy. this is just debate

also, new arrivals in america have always joined the armed service marc. pretty low to disparage that. get over it. white is on the way out. no law, or policy, or movement is gonna change the demographic developement of the world. you need other solutions man. no govt, i repeat no govt is gonna boot 13 million people. next.

Let's all rush off to Sunday services
and pray that gc is an anomaly - insane, of course, but an anomaly nevertheless.

No sane "American" could possibly make the deliberately(?) stupid comments posted here.

So, fellow Americans, may I submit that the best thing to do is to give this lunatic a wide berth, ignore his rantings, and pray that he has not procreated and made more mentally unstable clones.

I'm off to church now - have a wonderful day :-)

gee pj
following along with yer theme, seems to me, no sane person could possibly think that a free country would deport 13 million people. i respectly suggest while in church do some serious thinking and try to come up with a solution that actually works. that and practice yer spanish.

How many millions?
The lowball figure for illegals aliens is 7,000,000--that's the size of the Holocaust. The upper figures of 20-30 million are what the Border Patrol and Customs think may be the figure. "Land of the free" isn't free if criminals are major beneficiaries at eveyone else' expense. Mx. doesn't let gadzillions of Guatamaleans across their southern border. Only crazy people would think Am. citizens should protect an alien class bigger than many other countries.

libs vs bush
the libs detest the rule of law that america stands for. Enabling any group that will undermine our system while hastening socialism is all the libs and the dims are pushing for. Unfortunately the have found in the president a willing accomplice. Bush is so afraid of impeachment that he has assumed the prison shower position for the dims. By letting Pelosi, Reid and Kennedy call the shots bush is settling into retirement 20 months early. I never thought another president would come along that could betray america more than carter. I was wrong, Foisting this immigration disaster on america while telling us it is a fair plan is nonsense. Mexico has exported it's trash and the libs tell us these are now the most valuble people in this country. The dims and the libs are merely trolling for a new constituancy to guarantee they will run the country. They need to end the fraud. Impliment their true plan. Whenever any immigrant enters america, make him an automatic citizen. That repubs have entered this charade is shameful

mellor
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

some living wage union white guys that love the hot sun right?????

well said guy.

Tangled web
Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practise to deceive! Sir Walter Scott Listen up Congress....
Citizens of the world-come 1 and all.Our govenment will give away our American dream.Take anything you want -lie-cheat-steal-rob-kill-drive drunk-rape to obtain your desires.Nothing will withheld from you.You will be rewarded handsomely for you criminal activies. Our government and big business is so money hungry ,cheap labor is their way..Sacrifice Americans for money.
Illegals have no respect for America. They want what we have and will do anything to get it.
Illegal Invaders have built nothing but a Cesspool of Crime, Corruption, Poverty & Misery. Congress BEWARE!!!!

Jobs
If there are jobs that Americans don't want, then there should be 100% unemployment and not a single person on welfare.

Any illegal who finds that they can get more money from the government not working than they can working at McDonalds will destroy the work ethic that brought them here and help turn this nation into an even bigger socialist welfare state.

gc/mellor
I work for an energy service company that employs dozens of mechanics, drivers and operators. They work long, hard hours, sometimes as many as 90 hours in a week when it is busy. They work in the hot sun and in the snow and sleet. They work in daylight and at night. They pay taxes -- lots of taxes, because with all that overtime they make bunches of money, which to the libs would classify them as rich -- and they take care of their families and obey the law.

Not one of them is an illegal alien. Contrary to the opinion of many, there are many Americans who will do hard labor.

To MellorSJ and GC
Perhaps if there wasn't a pile of illegals then union labor would build it and the wages would be higher.

And BTW, even without this new law, it is still ILLEGAL for employers to hire illegals, so I would hope that the Government is not breaking it's own laws.

Kennedy, Libs, Demos and Republicans
Remember Ross Perot's "giant sucking sound" battle cry? He was one of the few who could forsee what was coming and willing to take the abuse. Gingrich, the 1994 Republican Congress, both Bushes, Clinton and his party can take a large part of the credit for the immigration mess. Check the membership of the Council on Foreign Relations - many of the important people are members. (Along with Ruth Bader Ginzberg.) Have you no appreciation for stupidity?

North American Union
For anyone interested in finding out more about this, I and some others posted a lot of links to sites with more information under George Wills' article last week. Sites like Phyllis Schlafly's....

Check it out. This is what is going on. Once you look into it, you will see it makes our government's confusing lack of interest in securing the borders and even encouraging illegal immigration through all kinds of handouts, make perfect sense. It all fits together.

Please check it out. Please know this is not a conspiracy theory. It is fact. At least 18 states have legislation to denounce the NA Union and there is also legislation in the House at the federal level.

Teehall
The only thinh that idiot Perot is responsible for is giving us 8 years of Klinton.

What makes countries different?
Is it just language and customs? Or is it laws? The old Soviet Union occupied the same place as the current Russia and the much older Russia, but they are all three different places. The BIGGEST differences are not the people, language or customs but the LAWS that are enforced. There can be debate as to which is better, but no debate they were different.

When the United States stopped enforcing the laws, it became a different place. Not just in demographics, but in spirit. NOW, many laws seem to punish those who are TRYING to do good (like the people on the border who lost their home to illegals they tried to stop.) Also, like the border patrol agents and sheriffs that are in prison and jails because they were trying to do their jobs (whether you agree with HOW, it WAS their job!)

And that is what MOST people here at TH are arguing FOR - upholding the laws on the books. We don't need MORE laws or NEW laws - just enforcement of the laws we already have. We were PROMISED in 1986 that the laws would be enforced. It turned out to be a lie. Almost NO enforcement has occurred.

And THAT is what the American people are waiting for: enforcement that was promised. And why they will tolerate nothing less - FIRST.

Another thought: the people who 'live in the shadows' now expected to do so. They were never PROMISED anything. Why should we CARE what they want or expect? Why should we care if they EVER get out of the shadows? They made THEIR OWN BEDS, we didn't.

The words "Immigration Officer" SHOULD strike terror in their hearts and minds. It is the ONLY law officer who has ANY power over them.

OPPPPOnents of logical thinking
WE ALL here are pro-immigration, but we object to law breaking. Don't you?
Crossing the border illegally- FEDERAL CRIME.
Falsifying documents - FELONY.
If we accept those crimes,
next - will be accepting stealing - "a thief has to eat" argument,
next - "he had a sex urge, so it was OK he raped",
next - .....?
READ WHAT WE SAY - do not let the crimes go unpunished, or, worse, rewarded.
PS "Only" 10 mln illegals use our SS numbers, and 5-8x more work for cash, which means we have 50 to 75 million illegals.
again - do you object (no exceptions, of course) or condone breaking the law?

It's 1986 one more time
Here we are, it’s 1986 again, Congress is going to fix the illegal foreigners problem. When the reform immigration legislation was made law in 1986, Senator Kennedy and others promised the amnesty granted in that legislation would be a one-time occurrence, not to be considered again in the future. Now we know that promise was as feet of clay. I find myself complaining once again the proposed fix will only exacerbate the problem. But which of my representatives care about what I believe? Would they care if I believed as an agnostic?

What's the hurray, Senators? For the world's most deliberative body you're acting like a bunch of school girls with ants in your training bra. This is serious stuff and the people deserve a thorough debate. Schedule the vote for next year when your employment contract is up for renewal. If Hag Hillary and others didn't know enough when they voted for the war on terror, how in tarnation can you know enough about this "amnesty for illegal foreigners" legislation without debate?

To paraphrase Senator Ernest Hollins: "There's too much communicating going on out there."

my 2 cents
The bill will make just about no practical difference at all. From all accounts as we speak it is almost 1000 pages long and counting and when it is voted on the number of senators who have read it and actually understand it will be nada ...

BUT

as Sen. Kennedy noted - it has flaws etc. and it is drawing fire from both sides, which is great for both sides, and it will probably get voted on and approved probably fairly quickly and then pols from both sides can say they have met the challenge of the illegal immigrant problem, while at the same time sniping the other side just to keep in practice and

IMO - the bill is basically useless in addressing the actual issue, which is unsolvable, but it DOES provide POLITICAL COVER for both sides as we get closer and closer to the SSS (serious silly season) and get ever closer to Tuesday, November 4, 2008.

Political Cover - PC

wow

Both Parties are in danger!
This will hurt both parties, and for once in my life...I don't care! We need a good 3rd Party!

Today, in the news, it came out that this Kennedy bill, fast-tracks the No. American Union.

Seems to me the farmers of our Country, have too much power. These illegals do not stay in the farm fields, they move onto construction & service jobs...so are we to have a constant flow of cheap labor come here, just to satisfy a few groups of cry babies?

My uncle Teddy
I'm not surprised about anything my Uncle does...He's let the IRA recruit in the halls of Congress if he thought it would serve his extreme agenda. I'm sure my dad is rolling over faster than Chuck Berry...Bobby too! I'll take him seriously when he starts living up to the truth about me and my twin sister...I agree with you on immigration...he needs to be slapped like a female canine that defecates on the beautiful tapestry that is America! One he'd like to forget......................Grandmaster Ro

We don't need "illegal immigrants". That is a lie from media, big business, and those that want their vote.
Just like we don't "need" cable TV. It's nice to have, but no one will die if we didn't have it around. Yea, lettuce companies like the cheap labor, and we enjoy buying cheap lettuce. People cry that if we stop illegal immigration the price of lettuce will go up. So what?
We never count the other cost associated with those illegal aliens.
You say you are "educated". Well, how about visiting your local public high school and see how illegal immigration is playing out. I am in the south, a non border state and in EVERY public school classroom at least 10% of the kids do not speak any English. Because of that, the schools had to hire interpreters. Well - guess what got shut down because of this - the gifted and talented program. Now, the only way to take AP classes in on-line, outside of school hours because the school board couldn't afford to deal with educating intelligent American children.
Is this a reasonable price for cheap labor?

To Uncle Max
I disagree, this issue is solveable. Put CEOs in JAIL and they will quit hiring. If they quit hiring, illegals will quit coming.

Mellor and GC
You guys are a laugh a minute!
I no gonna learn da Spanish, they can kiss my arse!
So must be that 1/3 of your small town isn't overrun with the lovable, courteous Mexicans, eh?
You know with the Mexican flag on their cars, flags in their windows, stores painted red, white, and green??? You know wanting to blend in so everyone will adore them. Learning da Engleesh after living here for many years! Ha,ha, ha. The problem with this bill is the same as the last ones passed by that man who drowns women and leaves them in the car, while his arse is safely on land, that means it isn't enforced!
AND guys, what about the laws the illegals broke?
Do they get a pass to citizenship for Stealing someone else's ID? For using fake documents, for working under the table?
Will they have to repay the Legal American Citizen for the anchor babies paid for under Medicare??? (around 10 grand an anchor baby)
NO, after all I need them, don't know what in the he** for, all they have done around here is make the wages stagnant, while adding to the pollution, using the gas, living many to a home, flooding the schools with kids who don't speak English, changing our culture BECAUSE there are so MANY of one race.
Sure we had immigration in the past, but there weren't 30 million of one culture in so short a period of time, that's the rub. So if you want them, invite them to your city, "please"!
AND who's to say this bill will get any more attention than the one passed in 1986, the one Teddy said was a ONE TIME ONLY DEAL!!!
HA, HA, HA. I'm just rollin on the floor its so freakin funny.

mimimary
I was at a Wl-mart yesterday, yes...but Wal-Mart put out every grocery store we had...anyway, a nice clerk came up to ask me if I needed help..I told her I was looking for shirts made in the USA.! Couldn't find any...but

She told me that they just moved here from Tn., as her husband had applied for work down there, and was asked if he could speak Spanish.

He told them, "No, and I'm not going to learn, they should learn English."

They got fed up with the way things were in Tn. with this invasion...and moved here.

I will not reveal where I live, the invaders might come here!

Bad day at Blackrock for America
This immigration plan will expedite the process of turning the United States into a 3rd world nation.

It is almost criminal for our government to make policy that promotes the importation onto our shores of illiteracy, ignorance...encouraging those with no ability or skills.

I actually favor immigration. My idea is to radically limit those with no education, skills, or abilities, and promote or encourage persons from all areas of the globe...as long as they have specialized skills, educational attainments, and other qualities which enrich our nation.

Ted Kennedy was part author of the 1965 Immigration Act, which set the stage for the debacle we now confront. Given his trackrecord, the fact that he has duped a simpleminded president, and gullible GOP political party, into supporting this legislation only underscores the low quality of leadership in our nation today.

What part of "illegal" don't people
understand?

If you are here illegally, you are breaking the law. When you go on someone's property, you are trespassing.

The La Raza usurpers want to steal our land out from under our feet. These people claim they were here first.

No, they weren't here first, the Chumash and Morongo Indians were here in Southern California when the Spanish arrived, not the Aztecs, Incas and Mayas. The Indians are still living here, and we are not asking for imports form other continents, thank you.

Yes, Mexico did own this land at one time. But they only owned California for a total of 27 years!

Mexico won its independance from Spain in 1821, and signed California over to the USA in 1848:
http://csc-s-maps-q.csc.noaa.gov/salmonid/html/people/mexica.htm
http://csc-s-maps-q.csc.noaa.gov/salmonid/html/people/cali.htm

According to the online article (above link), during the two years prior to California statehood in 1850, there were so many foreigners arriving, and such a lack of governance, the miners decided to take the law into their own hands.

This is the natural tendancy of human beings, to fill in the void if a government permits lawlessness.

I predict that the law-abiding citizens will also begin to take the law into their own hands if the United States fails to enforce the laws that are on the books.

There is nothing worse than to work hard and obey the law, and then see the cheaters and law breakers be rewarded for disrespecting the laws. What kind of society does that create?

The South and Central Americans trying to claim to this land reminds me of a little kid who thinks a vacant lot down the street belonged to him, and when the real owner puts up a shopping mall, the kid gets mad.

It is time for the government to tell these Socialists and Anarchists, agitators, coyotes and drug dealers to go home and take their illegal babies with them.

Long-time American
I, probably like most Americans, have never taken advantage of taking things from other people - like welfare, free hospitalization, etc. Only thing I receive is SS, which I contributed to but I would rather just have my money back and forget monthly checks. So, why do people coming here illegally from other countries get anything? You just say you are poor and you get stuff? Anyone that can walk and talk should work. If you have too many children, too bad, your problem.

Close our borders, all of them. Stop all immigration - legal and illegal. Environmentalists will be happy because with low population growth we will stop consuming all our natural resources. Let the countries who elect solcialist dictators deal with their own messes.

Term limits - Two terms, that's it, like the President. Get these bums out of Congress. They are like FAT, BLOATED MAGGOTS living off the blood of their host body - the citizens of this country. Look at Ted Kennedy, need I say more. They receive too much money, live too nice a life and sell us out for more of it.

turbo 55- RINO Spector
Every time I hear that Specter is a Republican I always feel cognative dissonance!

How is it that Repubs keep voting for this Bozo?

GC - Tax Amnesty - Enforcement
Several things:
1. GC - you Sir, are a "friggin" nut! Nuff said.
2. Originally the new "illegal immigration" bill was going to require the income tax payments of 3 of the last 5 years. According to news sources, that provision has been stricken and "tax amnesty" will be granted.
3. Immigration and border protection laws have never been enforced - what makes you think they will suddenly enforce new laws?
4. The cost of this Bill to the U. S. taxpayer's has never really been debated or discussed. Wonder why?
5. This nation, as we have known it, will soon cease to exist! Anyone disagree?

We don't need immigration
reform. We need a reformed government who will support the laws that already exist. If you come into this country illegally your are a criminal.

My suggestion is we put our troops on the border, armed with permission to shoot anyone trying to cross the border. Mine the borders and put up signs that you cross at your own risk. If you cross and avoid the mines, you will be shot on sight.

And to gc, goofy commenter, you must have forgotten this is America, not Mexico. We speak English here.
Shove your Spanish lessons where the moon doesn't shine.

More about Specter
Did anyone ever notice that Arland Specter and Phil Specter look alike (except for the hair)?

Are they related?

Skip of 2:00
You are so right. Nice to see you on line once in a while. How's the weather in Montana? Its great here in Florida.

Hi Peppermint!
I like the mined borders and the armed guards- and permit the border guards to shoot trespassers, instead of tossing them in jail.

I have also wanted to make THE FENCE like the one in Jurassic Park that was used to keep the dinosaurs in. You know, the one that was about 50 feet tall, and electrified with enough voltage to light up the Vegas Strip?

What would be the penalty for trespassing then?

Zzzzzzzt! Zzzzzzzzt! Zzzzzzzzz!!!!!

Of course I meant
without tossing the border guards in jail for shooting trespassers!

This is all about the NA Union
Folks, I really think this whole thing is about the North American Union. I know a lot of you think that is crazy, but if you will take a few minutes to look into it, you will see that it is not. The vast majority of the rest of the world has undergone "regionalization". About the only countries who have not are the ones called, rogue nations, by the UN. They are just getting around to regionalizing us is all. It's disgusting and we don't want it, but if more people don't research it and find out about it, how are we going to stop it? It's way late in the game already. They've been planning and putting this together for quite awhile and plan to have it tied up with a bow by 2010.

Please go research it. You can start here, on Phyllis Schlafly's site.

A North American United Nations?
"Globalists and one-world promoters never seem to tire of coming up with ways to undermine the sovereignty of the United States. The most recent attempt comes in the form of the misnamed "Security and Prosperity Partnership Of North America (SPP)." In reality, this new "partnership" will likely make us far less secure and certainly less prosperous.

According to the US government website dedicated to the project, the SPP is neither a treaty nor a formal agreement. Rather, it is a "dialogue" launched by the heads of state of Canada, Mexico, and the United States at a summit in Waco, Texas in March, 2005.

What is a "dialogue"? We don't know. What we do know, however, is that Congressional oversight of what might be one of the most significant developments in recent history is non-existent. Congress has had no role at all in a "dialogue" that many see as a plan for a North American union.

According to the SPP website, this "dialogue" will create new supra-national organizations to "coordinate" border security, health policy, economic and trade policy, and energy policy between the governments of Mexico, Canada, and the United States. As such, it is but an extension of NAFTA- and CAFTA-like agreements that have far less to do with the free movement of goods and services than they do with government coordination and management of international trade.

Critics of NAFTA and CAFTA warned at the time that the agreements were actually a move toward more government control over international trade and an eventual merging of North America into a border-free area. Proponents of these agreements dismissed this as preposterous and conspiratorial. Now we see that the criticisms appear to be justified.

Let's examine just a couple of the many troubling statements on the SPP's US government website:

"We affirm our commitment to strengthen regulatory cooperation...and to have our central regulatory agencies complete a trilateral regulatory cooperation framework by 2007"

Though the US administration insists that the SPP does not undermine US sovereignty, how else can one take statements like this? How can establishing a "trilateral regulatory cooperation" not undermine our national sovereignty?

The website also states SPP's goal to "[i]mprove the health of our indigenous people through targeted bilateral and/or trilateral activities, including in health promotion, health education, disease prevention, and research." Who can read this and not see massive foreign aid transferred from the US taxpayer to foreign governments and well-connected private companies?

Also alarming are SPP pledges to "work towards the identification and adoption of best practices relating to the registration of medicinal products." That sounds like the much-criticized Codex Alimentarius, which seeks to radically limit Americans' health freedom.

Even more troubling are reports that under this new "partnership," a massive highway is being planned to stretch from Canada into Mexico, through the state of Texas. This is likely to cost the US taxpayer untold billions of dollars, will require eminent domain takings on an almost unimaginable scale, and will make the US more vulnerable to those who seek to enter our country to do us harm.

This all adds up to not only more and bigger government, but to the establishment of an unelected mega-government. As the SPP website itself admits, "The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America represents a broad and ambitious agenda." I hope my colleagues in Congress and American citizens will join me in opposing any "broad and ambitious" effort to undermine the security and sovereignty of the United States." -- Congressman Ron Paul, August 30, 2006

Mountain Rose
Hi! You are right. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

This so called "immigration bill" which contains 1000 sheets of paper could be resolved on one piece of paper:

1. Deport all illegals starting now. Need volunteers? No problem.

2. Mine the borders.

3. Put up electrified fence. Need volunteers? No problem.

4. Put the military on the border, armed with every weapon possible to shoot the criminals coming across the border. People who think we don't have enough troops, think about what our troops will do once the dumbocraps pull them out of Iraq. Instead of sending them to Okinawa per Murtha, send them to the border.

There you go. 4 easy steps that takes less than one piece of paper and all Americans can read without hiring a lawyer to interpret it.

Duped?
So, Republican senators have no thought process that allows them to make decisions separate from what Ted Kennedy proposes?

Why can't the author just make his points without insulting the readers' intelligence as well as the Republican senators. No one was duped.

Robert with tinfoil brain:
"So you are more or less for repealing The Constitution?"

No are you?

As stated in the Constitution of the United States of America:
Article IV

Section 4. The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.

Robert
I meant to put into quotations this part of Article IV, Section 4,

"... GOVERNMENT and SHALL PROTECT EACH OF THEM AGAINST INVASION"

Just in case you missed that part of the Constitution, if indeed you have ever read it.

Amnesty II
Has anyone other than Teddy "When's the House Gonna Buy a Round?" Kennedy actually SEEN this bill?

What is the bill's number so I can look it up on THOMAS?

All we've heard is what the pundits and the news hos CLAIM is in the bill.

DavidMac
It probably won't be available until after they shove it through in lightening speed unlike anything else they do there in DC.

sell out Illegal Immigration
Two must reads----

For anyone who might have had a weak moment in considering Giullani for president--
Jerome Corsi---Giullani opposed welfare reform in order to protect illegals. Also Giullani's firm is representing the super highway from Mexico thru the United States and represents the Mexican drivers who will come through. He was in Mexico just recently to close the deal. You will get another forked-tongued Bush if you vote for him.

Now read and weep or get ready to fight!
WorldNetDaily (Sunday-today)
Bush inserts a fast track stipulation to North American Union into the illegal amnesty bill.

gc has suffered
Gc was obviously a victim of government schools before the No Child Left Behind Act writen by Comrade Kennedy and signed by Benedict Arnold Bush. Seems to have anger management problems.

In previous eras, subversion of the American culture and way of life by elected officials and using tax dollars to do it would get you impeached, recalled, or diselected at least. Not any more. http://www.teamtancredo.com and end this foolishness.

They haven't finished writing . ..
the bill but Steve has made up his mind that it's grand. The current laws are equally wonderful. They are not enforced. Neither will the McCain-Kennedy Great American Giveaway Bill . . . except the welfare part. Don't bother visiting Steve's site to investigate his claim that "there is one thoughtful, realistic essay about the immigration proposals, and I wrote it". Instead use your limited time to read Mark Steyn's Sunday column (http://www.suntimes.com/news/steyn/393216,CST-EDT-steyn20.article).

Robert
Robert wrote, "The citizens of this country do NOT EARN RIGHTS...wow that is a pretty lefty dem view"

What are you talking about, Robert?

People who enter this country ILLEGALLY and commit other crimes while they are here shouldn't be granted US Constitutional rights.

People who obey the federal immigration laws with the intent of becoming American citizens may be afforded US Constitutional rights.

You're still in high school, aren't you, Robert?

Duped?
My, certainly a lot of Republicans get duped on this issue. Reagan, McCain, Kyle....
Illegal immigration couldn't occur without the natural collaboration of the business wing of the Republican party and the liberal wing of the Democratic party.
I think we need a third party.

Robert
seems to have disappeared probably out of embarrassment over his whimsical and moonbat comments now that he has been faced with common sense.

Either that or he he was trying to charge up his tinfoil brain and accidentally electrocuted himself.

A collection of idiots
What we have in Washington is a collection of idiots attempting to make a law that will continue to give America away. We have the wonderful Kennedy with his pickled brain, Feinstein who should be in jail instead of the Senate, Specter who needs to change parties to the Dem.'s, McCain who is pandering for votes from the Mexicans, etc. etc. How about the states that these idiots represent stop electing them to go back to Washington to screw America?

Rush to defeat on this too?
"Like it or not, America is about to be saddled with Sen. Ted Kennedy’s solution for immigration reform."

It is statements like this that give conservatives the impression our leadership and those who have a voice are all but willing to just give in and let our ideals be given away to those who we disagree with.

Get a spine, stand up and oppose it. If those in office see our opposition they will either oppose it for us as they were elected to do or they can start planning what to do after they are out of office.

Another Bush Lie Uncovered By History
"..Jobs no American will take..."

What jobs would that be, Mr. President?

Stoop labor? Ever read, "Grapes of Wrath"? Ever hear of the Okies' migration? THEY WERE GOING TO CALIFORNIA TO PICK FRUIT!

I remember white AND black trash collectors back when we still had galvanized cans and they carried a large drum from back yard to back yard to dump the cans in.

I remember yards being mowed, concrete being poured, brickwork and roofing by white AND black.

Just what jobs will Americans not do, Mr. President?

To Robert
Just because you are born in this country it doesn't make you a citizen.

Concentrate on the House
The House is where this might be killed. The Senate will pass it. They sold us out last year. The only thing that has changed is that we lost a few votes. We all know the President will sign it. Every House member is up for re-election in 2008. Democrat and Republican. Everyone must contact their House member, get your neighbors, friends, co-workers, etc. to do the same. Whether you voted for them or not, they need to hear from you. You can find them here:

http://www.house.gov.com/

The Republican Party under GWB seems intent on political suicide. Pandering to citizens of other countries illegally in our country while telling us we must be vigilantes if we object to illegal aliens ignoring our borders and laws. Mel Martinez is RNC Chairman to ensure an open borders candidate in '08. The cheap labor express will be kept running, regardless of the consequences, to party or country. GOP-RIP

Enforce
the current laws. GWB is doing a token show of enforcement, they need to get serious. We don't need a new law. Start Jailing execs of businesses that knowingly hire illegals. The IRS knows when there are illegals hired, just give the companies 5 work days to comply or face jail. The Illegals will go home.

Robert
Do you know your right from your left, do you wipe holes in the ground with toilet paper while your rear end becomes soiled?

I am one of those people who can actually read the consitution in English. A feat that you appear to have never done. You are probably of the ilk who actually believe that the SC has ruled on anchor babies. It has not. The ruling that they have issued involved the children of LEGAL imigrants.

The original intent of "under the juristiction of" did not mean people born to crooks who sneaked across the border. That was actually stated by the people who wrote the Amendment.

As for the 2nd Amendment, I think you have enough problems with reality without opening another can of worms.

Vic
Thanks for the info!

According to the bill, Section 131(a) states, "Beginning on October 1, 2008, an alien (other than a national of Mexico) who is attempting to illegally enter the United States and who is apprehended at a United States port of entry or along the international land and maritime border of the United States shall be detained until removed or a final decision granting admission has been determined . . ."

Does that mean Mexicans aren't covered by this bill?

Not as long as Bush is President
We should not undertake any immigration reform until after another Presidential election. This President has shown his loyalties are not to American citizens on this issue. Personally, I believe we need Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, not reform. We have the laws, what we don't have is any enforcement. Without enforcement, laws are meaningless.

This new package will be no different than 1986. The borders could have and should have been secured September 12, 2001. But that would have disrupted the cheap labor express and the RNC could not disappoint its contibutors. So the problem has doubled as enforcement went from inadequate under Clinton to nonexistent under Bush. Now they will try to jam another amnesty down our throats. The question remains, will we let them?

Bush 2
The pres has surrendered to the dims in the house and senate. Whether he is incapable or unwilling to see this immigration mess he is guarenteeing his role in history. With 20 months to go he has entered retirement and I doubt we will se anything approaching leadership from him. He can't stand up to the dims and he won't stand up for for americans. He has abandoned his oath of office to protect america in regards to illegals. What else will he surrender to the dims

First of all
click my name to read my essay "The Bush Legacy" on this topic at my blog.

A couple of thoughts:

Amnesty, for breaking the immigration laws and back taxes.

Next time the IRS contacts you to pay back taxes they claim you owe, tell them you want YOUR amnesty. How come people who aren't even here legally get a break citizens don't?

Next time you get stopped for speeding, tell the cop you want your amnesty for breaking the speed laws.

As to deporting the lot of them: of course we can! Not all at once, but bit by bit, as they come into contact with law enforcement, just like in Arkansas, you take them into custody and ship them out. To paraphrase Rayburn, a thousand here, a thousand there, and pretty soon you're talking about some real numbers. We don't catch all the robbers and murderers all at once, but that doesn't mean we declare it okay to rob and murder. We do what we can.

You
You Pis...d, Call your Senators and the Pres. let them know you are da.m mad. Let them know you will actively campain against them. lwt them know your wallet will never open again to support them.

Robert
I see you're back promoting your tinfoil hat interpretation of the 14th Amendment.

Well, once again like last night -- and I noticed you didn't repond then -- why don't you sneak into the UK and declare yourself a loyal subject of the Queen, and see where that gets you?

To the airport and the first flight out of the country, BACK to the country and jurisdiction to which you ARE subject.

We can't let him dupe us.
We will have ourselves to blame if we allow Congress to FOOL us AGAIN on immigration "reform".

Americans born overseas
I'm an Army brat who spent many years overseas. Many Americans working in foreign countries have kids born on those countries. What country do you think they're citizens of? The United States, because they were born to Americans. They are NOT the citizens of the country within the borders of which they just happened to be born.

The illegal alien giveaway program
There are two things in this article I will disagree with. First is, “Conservatives will be especially disappointed” is an understatement. This Conservative is outraged. The second is calling, Sen. Arlen Specter, moderate. I have always called him a liberal or a RINO.

To DavidMac
Which section describes this?
