Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Corey Clagett is now serving an 18-year sentence at Ft. Leavenworth prison and spending 23 hours each day in solitary confinement.

With his family unable to afford to do so and his mother frantically seeking help, my radio audience recently raised the legal funds to hire an outside attorney to appeal his sentencing.

Newly hired attorney Tim Litka dropped this bombshell: "As I began to research the case of Corey, I discovered something which caused my jaw to hit the table. Prior to Corey pleading guilty, two other soldiers had already taken full responsibility for all three Iraqi deaths. The government knew this, his attorney knew this, everybody knew but him, yet they still accepted his guilty plea. I feel he had the right to be told before entering his guilty plea."

The case is gaining bipartisan outrage. Mr. Filner of California donated $500 toward the Clagett legal defense and is arranging for the family to make the trip from South Carolina to Ft. Leavenworth to visit their son, whom they have not seen in over a year. Republican congressional candidate Bob Watkins of California donated $1,000 " and added, "This is a story of due process. This young man chose to defend his country and now he cannot afford to defend himself. It is not right."

Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter of California has now assigned two staff members to research the case. Noticeably absent are South Carolina lawmakers.

Corey Clagett was recruited, trained and taught to kill the enemy so that we may each enjoy our American way of life. Now it's time for America to pay its debt of gratitude and allow Corey Clagett to return to his.

Pfc Corey Clagett
My name is Melanie and I am the mother of Pfc Corey Clagett.I was lost for a long time and felt I was a lone fighting for my son's life.He was born and raised in a small town called Moncks Corner,SC just twenty minutes from Charleston.I now know I'm not alone, but that would not have happened if not for Rick Amato.See, everyone had deserted us and Corey after he had plead guilty. It's easy to say ,if you plead guilty than you must be guilty.Well that is not always true.I have learned many things throughout this ordeal about the way the military works.More and more of you are hearing the way it really is in the militray .We need you.Corey needs you and maybe others who have been treated unjust need you.Only in numbers can we make a change. We need more than talk, we need actions.I can't do it a lone. Please help us.There are so many ways to help.visit htpp://coreyclagett.net or amatotalk.com or even e-mail me @ cormel2002@yahoo.com.I'm not good with words, but I can tell you my heart feels many things for all you you who have helped us.Help me bring my son home.i don't know what I would have done without Ca, many ,many thanks to all of you.

What you can do!
I have actively supported Corey for some time now. I began by writing letters to him at Ft. Leavenworth. He seemed lost, more than a little afraid and absolutely convinced he was completely forgotten. I wanted him to know that even though I am a ‘nobody’, I cared and would do what I could to make a difference.

Here are some of the things that I did. Perhaps you can do some of them too:

I have written and phoned all the SC legislators (Yes! Where is Lindsey Graham on this?). I have written and called many other Senators and Congressmen and the Armed Services Committee. I have written CNN, Air America and FOX news. As important as it is to write the SC legislators, the legislators for which you are a constituent will hear your words more clearly.

I have personally donated a substantial amount of money. I sent this directly to his new lawyer, Timothy Litka, or you can use the link on the Rick Amato Show website.

I have had books shipped directly from Amazon.com to Corey. He was shown, but not permitted to have, items sent from my personal address that weren’t letters. His address is:
PFC Corey Clagett/82477
1300 N. Warehouse Rd.
Ft. Leavenworth, KS 66027-230

I have told everyone I know about Corey’s case. A few of my co-workers have also written and called SC legislators. Spread the word!

Last, and hopefully not least, I have written to Corey. This young soldier is kept in solitary confinement 23 hours a day. I know any word from the outside with kind words of support helps him cope that much better.

A small effort on your part will make a big difference in the life of this soldier who has already served more time than he deserves.
