Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?


This year marks the 233rd anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America.

Back then, freedom rang because individuals were willing to risk, literally, everything to be free from the yoke of heavy-handed government. Their declaration of individual rights meant their lives, their property, and their sacred honor, would be at stake.

Still, during those fateful summer days in 1776 at Philadelphia, delegates to the Second Continental Congress bravely asserted their intentions by passing, on July 2, a “resolution of independence”.

Two days later, on July 4, delegates voted in session to approve the document we know as the formal Declaration of Independence. The document was intended to explain, in detail, to the world, the reasons for separating from the British crown.

Then, through early August, each individual in turn, dared to pick up pen, dip it in their personal well of courage, and imprint their signature on the Declaration of Independence document.

In the entire length of the human experience, America’s more than two century existence is, still, but a short time. Yet, America’s birth stands as the singular moment of change in man’s relation to man and the primacy of self-government.

John Adams understood the significance of this course of events when, on July 3, he wrote to his beloved wife, Abigail:

The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. … It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. … [S]solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.

And so it has. We celebrate two days later than Adam’s prediction because changing the course of world history is not to be undertaken lightly, and the Declaration itself was undergoing revision and redrafting.

One month later, the new American patriots would have to fight the British to retain the freedom declared in Philadelphia.

Then, nearly four decades after that, our Founders, their descendants, and new American citizens, would fight the British yet again in the War of 1812; the war, often cited, “that once and for all confirmed American Independence.”

Today, each American citizen has the responsibility to possess the personal constitution to declare their unshakable support of freedom and self-government.

On this anniversary of our nation’s birth, Americans should proclaim their support for the principles in the Declaration of Independence.

I have haun this every year at our 4th of July party for the last 8 years, and I insist new comers READ it.

I also do 4th trivia to teach them a thing or two -- they love it! (You should see the blank liberal stares, at the fact we are a constitutional republic and not a democracy - get's them every time!)

Can you stand another "thank-you" for your poignant post about our founding fathers?
Yeah, those "old white guys" are really something to be mocked, are they not? We should be so lucky that they should reappear. How dissappointed they would be to see how we have squandered what they sacrificed to provide for us.
We need a revolution against our education system, now!

As for the Obsolete Man
Go to YouTube and check it out. It was posted yesterday and may be pulled down by the O'Vomit brown shirts. You know, the same ones who yanked down the video of the Black Panthers intimidating white voters.

Even I like to lay down the cudgels for a bit on the Fourth, so if I want to take a second to acknowledge the Founders (with preferably American made 'works) why not? If I were up in CT I'd be touching off the flintlock in a PROPER salute to Light Horse Harry, Dan Morgan, Gen. Green, and TOM Washington (who NEVER got the credit he deserved) as well as the paper pushers who fueled the revolt.

Please do not feel any shame. If anything good has happen through this current administration it has made more Americans aware of their heritage and the kind of government that our Founders left us. Many of my friends and myself included have read the entire constitution and Declaration of Independence for the first time since civic classes in college or high school.

Many Americans have taken our freedoms for granted so long. That is good that we have always felt safe enough to do that. We can no longer do that. Inform youself. Check out the Patrick Henry Caucus that I mentioned in another post. This organization was formed by two state legislatures in Utah who were concerned about state sovereignty, "states rights", per the 10th amendment. Their opinion is that we have the greatest influence starting with our local governments, city, county and state.
Keep the faith and stay strong in your beliefs.

I have been reading that for many years and learned a lot of it from the historian at the National Archives. It IS true but there's a move afoot to convince us all that the War of Independence was a "rich man's war" and the people who fought were their dupes.

Reba...I cried when I read your post. I never knew those details nor even sought to find out. I'm ashamed. It wasn't pretty obtaining our freedom. Freedom is our birthright yet is never given over freely. We always have to fight for it. And if we are born into it like so many of us, then we have to guard it diligently.

Please, oh please, don't let these founders of our freedoms have fought and died in vain. This Obomba government HAS to be monitored diligently or else...as someone else posted, "I'd rather have King George!"

Liberals view of Freedom

Let see Liberals complained about the Patriot Act because if you are one of the very few people who happen to be talking to an actual terrorist overseas, you might get your conversation listened to by Homeland Security without a Warrant.

However, Liberals have no problem with the "Cap & Trade Bill" requiring you to get Federal Approval before selling your home.

Liberals have no problem with Government taking your home to sell to a Rich Real Estate Developer to put up strip malls.

Liberals have no problem denying parents school choice.

Liberals have no problem denying you Healthcare Choice.

Liberals have no problem denying you Retirement Savings choice.

Liberals have no problem denying you the choice of what kind of car to buy.

Liberals have no problem denying you the right to pray when you want and where you want.

Liberals have no problem denying you the right to purchase and carry a firearm.

Liberals have no problem denying you the choice of food you eat and penalizing your for making bad choices.

Liberals have no problem penalizing you for smoking.

Liberals have no problem regulating who you hire and who you fire from employment.

Liberals oppose academic Freedom.

So clearly Liberals do not embrace Freedom as the Founding Fathers intended.

Oh there is one time when Liberals embrace Freedom. It involves the killing of innocent unborm babies.

Get off that porcupine you're sitting on today. In case you didn't read about it the Chinese INVENTED fireworks about 800 years ago. I know if you buy them from some reservation stand or Wally World they are from Chine (with glow in the dark safety fusing) but if you want you can get them from a couple of sources in Ohio and PA and they come from the Westlake factory.

The Westlake rockets REALLY climb. I saw one arc from the parking lot of our store on Rt. 59 in Spring Valley about 200 yards from Rt. 287 twenty years ago and it left a silvery trail that CROSSED the highway and vanished.

Thank your daughter for me. You have to be proud of her. It makes me feel good to hear those comments from our youth. They will be our leaders of tomorrow and must stand as proud Americans to maintain the freedoms and liberties that these 56 men and their families were so wiling to sacrifice everything to leave such a great legacy to us.

I have live and worked in three different countries and know that these liberaties live in the majority of Americans' hearts as it does not in people of other countries. However, we can no longer take it for granted.

I made my 19 year old daughter read your post and afterward I told her at least if you read that I know for a brief moment you thought of what this day stands for. I was quite proud of her when she said " I think of that all the time, not just today." There are still some college educated kids that have their hearts and minds in the right place.

I also fear the same, Reba. The true Heros' among us will only be known when common people perform uncommon valor. I believe that something really bad is going to have to happen in our lifetimes to bring us back to what made us great. I would give my life for this cause if it was righteous. A very vocal minority has come to rule us, but it is yet possible to emerge victorious. I find myself, on this 4th, watching Wimbledon doubles, burning a fattie, grilling some ribs, and silently thanking those 56 men for their sacrifices so that I may have the ability to do this. Thank you for the timely reminder of what so many have died for. You are correct- Freedom is not free- The Tree of Freedom requires the nourishment of blood from time to time to sustain itself. Our Forefathers knew this. They were wise indeed.

You are a good and patriot Father in helping your daughters understand the people who were willing to give everything they had to provide a free country for us.

After posting this I was thinking about these 56 men and their sacrifices, it was not for power or self gain that they did this. I was also wondering who among the men and women of our senate and congress today would be willing to do the same for our country and keep our liberties safe. I'm afraid the the list is very small.

THE MEN WHO GAVE US FREEDOM
Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence ?
Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.
Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.
Two lost their sons another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds of the Revolutionary War.
They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?
Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.
Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and plantation owners; they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured. Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept away by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.
Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British
that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.
Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.
At the battle of Yorktown , Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General
George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.
Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.
John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill
were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots. Remember: freedom is never free!

George Patton knew well his enemies

As we do also. We just have to do to our enemies what George did to his enemies - circle them and defeat them.

Having said that, we have another battle ahead.

Many of you have already become aware of Gerald Celente, and for those who have not, you should. Celente's forecast for 2009 is pretty dim - read that dismal and foreboding - but if we are prepared, we can survive "The Greatest Depression." The video on the link below is 9 minutes long - watch it, and learn from it.

Be prepared, my friends - there appear to be very tough times ahead if Celente is accurate in this forecast also (he has a pretty good forecast record in years past).

Word on the street is that people are already reigning in their spending habits, and that the tea parties are just the beginning of a tax rebellion.

Plan for tough times and if the forecasts are wrong - you end up being a winner. And that's a good thing.

July 4, 2009 Remember American Soldiers

History will record that the American Soldier and those American Soldiers who have fallen, rank in the greatest humans who have ever lived on this planet.

The American Soldier has set free millions in bondage and defended the freedom of America with willingness of the ultimate sacrifice.

The Fallen American Soldier is someone who walked the hero's path. Someone who walked into the heart of darkness for Duty, Honor and Country.

The American Soldier waits for the day that they have lived for and trained for their entire life - to defend until death, their families and America, its citizens and freedom.

The American soldier is the fiercest Warrior ever in history, because their mission is the defense of family, neighbors, America and freedom.

The families of the American Soldier, while their faces beamed with pride, their hearts were filled with anxiety and tears as they watched their American Soldier leave to defend them and this Great Country.

Families and neighbors look with horror as the military vehicle stops in front of the home of the American Soldier, to inform them of the ultimate sacrifice of their hero.

No honor can be too great; every tribute is too small for the Fallen American Soldier and their families.

God Bless the American Soldier and their families!

God have mercy on every American Soldier in our History who has made the ultimate Sacrifice in defense of this 'Great Nation' and setting Humans free all over the World.

Declaraton of Independance

When you read the Declaration of Independance, its easy to see how the same words apply today for what the Liberals are doing to this country.

Instead of the British Crown. We have to rebel against Liberals.

and morons all over the country will be contributing to their own enslavement by burning fireworks made in china and purchased with borrowed money to celebrate the birth of a nation that has developed a government far, far more tyrannical than king george 3. please, please let me have the stamp tax, if i could get the government out of my personal papers, my bank account, and my pocket. i would willingly house some soldiers to get rid of the hoards of fake disability chislers, welfare cheats, and race mongers that our beloved government coddles. taxation without representation? please give us taxation without representation if we could just be rid of representation without taxation. if allowed to choose between obama and king george, i would take king george.
