Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Individually, Barack Obama and John McCain sat down last Saturday night with author Rick Warren in what was called a “Civil Forum on Leadership and Compassion” at Pastor Warren’s 22,000 seat church in Lake Forest, California.

During the days preceding the event Warren said he would “be addressing pressing issues that are bridging divides in our nation, such as poverty, HIV/AIDS, climate, and human rights."

That list was a concern to many in the McCain campaign, as it appeared made to order for the very liberal first term senator en-route to Denver and the democrat party presidential nomination.

Here is some background for you about the forum and how it came to be:

Interestingly, the idea for the forum did not originate with Warren or his Saddleback Church. Rather, the idea came from the liberal social justice group, Faith in Public Life, the event’s other co-sponsor. Pressed with questions, Warren insisted that he, and the questions he planned to ask, would not be influenced by Meg Riley, Faith in Public Life board president, or the groups other board members which “include other theological liberals, among them pro-abortion Muslim and Jewish leaders”. Riley, a Unitarian Universalist minister, previously ran the denominations homosexual advocacy office.

So, it’s understandable that many thought McCain might be walking into a trap given the issue list, etc.

Despite the concerns, in general, Rick Warren was faithful to his pre-forum word, and handled his role as moderator well. In fact, we now have a case for the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential debates that, in lieu of national news anchors, we install individuals like Warren as moderators.

Obama, won the off-camera coin flip, went first, and handled himself, like the individual we have seen on the stump during the democrat party primaries and since.

McCain handled himself well; he was energetic, sharp, and to the point.

In fact, one had the sense that - for those keeping score - McCain clearly won the night.

Watching the talking heads on the post forum analysis shows, we found the liberal party spinners working overtime to put the best shine on the interaction their standard bearer had with the moderator. Media reports picked up the spin describing Obama as “offering more nuanced and analytical answers on some issues”.

That’s one way to describe Obama’s manner of answering the questions.

Another would be unlike – and often the opposite of – McCain’s manner of answering - which was consistently direct. As a result, Warren noted that the extra time meant he would be able to ask extra questions of McCain. That also tells us something as well about Obama’s answers.

John McCain’s sure-footed performance was impressive.

Prior to the forum, the race nationally was closing to an effective dead heat. Watch the post-forum polling trends this week for reflections of voters. And, expect further tightening in the state by state contests, which are the keys to electoral victory.

If the three upcoming presidential debates go anything like the forum, independents and undecided voters will break McCain’s way.

What can Barack Obama do to improve? Here’s a recommendation:

Studiously watch part two of the forum video.

too much information or not enough?
The idea for the civil forum at Saddleback came from the liberal social justice group, Faith in Public Life....ughh.

This sounds like another Soros venture....Faith in Public Life. No wonder why it was such a harmonious meeting at Saddleback, maybe Soros 'encouraged' them to participate as part of his social engineering master plan (diabolical laughter inserted here).

Michelle Malkin's article outlines many of Soros' social justice projects. Faith In Public Life sounds hauntingly similar to those.

Religious test
In spite of Michael Medved's tortured claim that this forum doesn't represent an unconstitutional religious test for public office, it's too close for my comfort. I do recognize that it wasn't the government conducting the forum, but candidates would be well advised to avoid mixing faith and politics. Remember how it went with that blow-hard, Pastor John Hagee?

Pastor Warren did well to avoid endorsing either candidate, but I'll bet he was tempted to beam knowingly and approvingly at McCain's answers. He would be a very unusual man-of-the-cloth, self-righteous as they are, if he hadn't felt that temptation. I would have agreed with his silent McCain endorsement for different reasons, but, I would have objected to being in the same camp as a religious nut. This is the on-going dilemma for conservative atheists.

Obama....
....the standard bearer of the party without standards. Oh...did I mention he was Balack?

"The Anointed One"
Fine job as usual, of picking apart Obama's floundering attempts to rationalize his views on "partial birth abortion" and "supreme court justice Thomas." (and a host of other issues)
I hope that you will never back-off your cut to the quick style of Obama slaying. When he goes down, just deliver more jabs. I still can't believe "Hussein Obama" is actually in contention for the presidency of the United States of America!!!!!!!!

Thinking on your feet
99% of public life is the ability to think on your feet, change direction at lightning speed, recognize the situation and respond to it, and jump before the anvil falls where you were standing.

Obama seems not to have that kind of agility. The roadrunner would get him every time. BEEP BEEP!

why
Aside from the fact that Obama is an idiot. There are two reasons he lost the forum. No teleprompter and McCain does town halls all the time.

O-Blame-A
Because Obama DID NOT look/sound Presidental he and his minions lashed out at McCain(who clearly
outshined him)for several days, as they lost it.
Because Obama failed to be direct in his answers
as well as stammering for "just the right p.c.
soundbites to pander to ALL potential votes", he
came off convuluted and inexperienced. He does well in front of teleprompters w/prepared talking points, but we don't want another "slick
talking, smoothe as silk, JUNIOR SENATOR, who is
going to possibly be POTUS.(like Clinton)-We DO
need someone who DOES put Country FIRST, and will NOT be an apologist for "Bad, bad America"-
as Obama was when he went on his 'world tour' to
try to look Presidential. He is NOT running for
"World President" the last I checked, but he seems to want to pander to the Euro crowd, and act like he IS NOT some Political Machine from Chicago - WHICH HE IS. There is NO change with
him, and his message of change, as he is a bought and paid for dupe, for the likes of Soros
who is his backer, and would like nothing MORE than to bring America to it's knees, with financial ruin(Soros invests in failures) and have us become a Socialist country. BOTH OBAMA AND HILLARY ARE STUDENTS OF THE LATE SAUL ALINSKY.

The Alinsky Methods
You can go to the late Barbara Olson's site, and
read for yourselves, what Saul Alinsky-the 60's
Radical Socialist, who believed in Revolution of
controlling people through Socialism. He was the Mentor to Hillary, and Obama follows his mantra as well, to date. These are dangerous and controlling methods that instigate chaos and
government dependency(which is why Hillary does
think "it takes a village" to raise kids-NOT their parents. Look up this for yourselves,as you will realize that Soros, who is financially involved with getting Obama elected, is looking to bring America to it's knees, and become MORE
Euro-ized. This, is why Obama was apologetic to
the Euros about America. They would ALL be speaking German, if it were NOT for America.

Obama is NOT above the fray..
as he pretended he would run a "clean campaign".
Today, he is blasting McCain about several homes
they own...these may be possibly condos for his children, etc. but we see what little Obama has to gripe about, so now it's about houses..wow!
At least McCain's homes didn't come from a convicted FELON-Rezko. Hello Obama?Do YOU WANT TO GO THAT ROUTE? OKAY THEN-OPEN UP "ALL YOUR FINANCIAL DEALINGS, YOUR SALARIES BETWEEN YOU/MICHELLE, ETC.Since you are trying to pretend NOT to be an ELITIST. BTW: You talk about how you want to help people out here in the U.S. who aren't doing well? You may want to help your brother in Africa, who lives on $1 a month? Wasn't that one of your lines last, about
helping the "least of us"....What a PHONEY.
