Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Jesse Jackson must have been forgiven by the Obama campaign and welcomed into its inner circle. Because it sure seems as if he's giving the campaign advice.

Responding to a McCain ad knocking him as a world celebrity, Barack Obama essentially accused the McCain campaign of race-baiting. It was a hair-trigger resort to the charge of racism of the sort that Jackson built a career on, making himself radioactive and anathema to the political center.

In 24 hours, Obama had lurched his carefully crafted brand in Jackson's direction. And for what?

The McCain ad intersperses footage of Obama's massive political rally in Germany with images of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton before asking "is he ready to lead?" It's rare that a political candidate is criticized for being too popular, but that's the import of the ad, and its inclusion of Spears and Hilton has been called even by McCain sympathizers "stupid," "childish" and "juvenile."

But the McCain ad had a serious point, one the Obama campaign obviously felt it couldn't ignore. Obama can be as arrogant, gassy and remote as other members of the country's aristocracy of fame. If this celebrity framework is successfully imposed on Obama, the entire repertoire of Obamania -- the mass rallies, the soaring eloquence, the picturesque cool of the candidate himself -- risks becoming a liability.

In a statement Obama repeated three times, he said what George Bush and John McCain are "going to try to do is make you scared of me. You know, he's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills." Translation: Bush and McCain are going to go all Bull Connor on me.

Neither has done any such thing, of course. McCain has distanced himself from attacks with the remotest hint of racial undertones. When a talk-radio host mentioned Obama's middle name several times in the course of an introduction of McCain at a rally, McCain roundly denounced him. When the North Carolina Republican Party ran an -- entirely aboveboard -- ad linking Obama with his longtime pastor Jeremiah Wright, McCain loudly objected. Obama's charge is a flat-out smear.

Afterward, an Obama spokesman implausibly insisted the dollar-bills comment was not about race: "What Barack Obama was talking about was that he didn't get here after spending decades in Washington." This is rich. George Washington didn't serve in Washington either, given that the capital of the country was first New York and then Philadelphia. His path to the presidency went through Trenton, Valley Forge and Yorktown (granted, quite different than Obama's). As for the other presidents, neither Abraham Lincoln, nor Andrew Jackson, nor U.S. Grant was a Washington time-server prior to winning the White House.

Obama clearly was talking about race. He said much the same thing in Berlin: "I don't look like the Americans who've previously spoken in this great city." Did he merely mean that he has better-fitting suits and a slimmer frame?

Obama has apparently been spoiling to throw out the race charge. When he won the North Carolina primary, he said McCain would "play on our fears" and "exploit our differences." In June, he said Republicans were going to run against him saying: "He's young and inexperienced, and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?"

Obama hopes to use the racism card to inhibit all criticism of him, with the presumed cooperation of the press. But there's a much larger downside. Obama's race is a political advantage so long as it is sold in a post-racial context. If his background is a symbol of how we can get beyond the poisoned atmosphere of both racism and the hyperactive, opportunistic charges of racism, it's a boon to his change-and-unity candidacy. That's why Jesse Jackson expressing a desire to perform emergency surgery on Obama was a priceless assist.

Now, Obama could throw it away in a fit of self-destructiveness worthy of ... dare we say it, Britney Spears?

there is no doubt
he was playing the race card...how stupid does he think Americans are..."he meant he hadn't been in Washington for decades" is bogus...that wouldn't have anything to do with the phrase "and I don't LOOK like the guys on your money." He played the race card and he got called on it...as he should every single time he does it. I'm sick of people tiptoeing around him afraid to speak negatively about anything he does. He is arrogant, plain and simple, and thinks he is above any kind of criticism.

Obama is hoping for a racial comment
From anyone, not getting it, he decided to try and provoke someone to say something he can use to play gotcha.

I also have a problem with McCain

quote:
"When a talk-radio host mentioned Obama's middle name several times in the course of an introduction of McCain at a rally, McCain roundly denounced him."

This is way over the top in super sensitivity looking for offense.

I been hearing about George Walker Bush and Ronald Wilson Reagan, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and John Fritzgerald Kennedy, and David Dwight Eisenhower and Billy bob Klinton
and never once heard that using a Presidential candidates middle name was off limits!

Whats up with that?
He ashamed of it or is McCain?

Or is there just something about his name?

He is named by his mother and father, not a radio talk show host.

Barack is an African muslim name.

Hussein is an Arab muslim name

Obama is an African muslim name

Blame his mother, not a radio talk show host if using his given name is sooooo offensive.
McCain is the aze

Barack Hussein Obama the racist

Just watching TV
There are over 10% of the population who believe
that Obama is a Muslim.

Want to make a bet that they get all their
information from right-wing ignoramuses for
whom truth means nothing, if it helps them win
an election.

What I See
Eventually, McCain will fold, admit he's a racist and bow to Obama and Al Sharpton. This is what all white GOP policicans do. None of them have the guts to stand by their positions, nor the will to win.

I expect McCain to call a press conference, disavow his entire staff, and endorse Obama before liquidating his entire estate and sending the proceeds to the NAACP for reparations.

The Race Card
Barack Hussein is a race hustler. He is hustling for votes. Jackson and Sharpton does it for money and face time. He is pleading for someone to refer to his race in a derogatory way,so he can use it.

We all know his schtick by now. Even his fawning press is growing weary of trying to parse his words to make them presentable. The shine is wearing off and he is the same old empty suit.

Obama said
they will use race to "stroke fear'. Isn't he right? Who here thinks the party that gave us MCain's "black baby" and the harold Ford commercial will, when comes to Obama, be honorable? They just put out an add, for Pete's sake, with Obama and two sleazy starlets.

McCain's advisor, Carl Rove has a " history of dirty tricks, including a 1973 conference he had organized for young Republicans on how to orchestrate them."

His favorite past time in college was going through others people garbage cans.

More on What where Dealing with
"A typical instance occurred in the hard-fought 1996 race for a seat on the Alabama Supreme Court between Rove's client, Harold See, then a University of Alabama law professor, and the Democratic incumbent, Kenneth Ingram. According to someone who worked for him, Rove, dissatisfied with the campaign's progress, had flyers printed up—absent any trace of who was behind them—viciously attacking See and his family. "We were trying to craft a message to reach some of the blue-collar, lower-middle-class people," the staffer says. "You'd roll it up, put a rubber band around it, and paperboy it at houses late at night. I was told, 'Do not hand it to anybody, do not tell anybody who you're with, and if you can, borrow a car that doesn't have your tags.' So I borrowed a buddy's car [and drove] down the middle of the street … I had Hefty bags stuffed full of these rolled-up pamphlets, and I'd cruise the designated neighborhoods, throwing these things out with both hands and literally driving with my knees." The ploy left Rove's opponent at a loss. Ingram's staff realized that it would be fruitless to try to persuade the public that the See campaign was attacking its own candidate in order "to create a backlash against the Democrat," as Joe Perkins, who worked for Ingram, put it to me. Presumably the public would believe that Democrats were spreading terrible rumors about See and his family. "They just beat you down to your knees," Ingram said of being on the receiving end of Rove's attacks. See won the race."

What We're Dealing With
...is a programmed puppet who sees his lead dwindling in spite of his 'most excellent adventure',last week. Instead of a boost,he got nothing but ridicule.

He tried to act presidential and looked like the empty suit he is. Sticking a prayer in the wall was so planned. Just following the program.....

Well
Barack Obama is not your standard handle for J.Q Citizen. You have to admit, he isn't like you or me, he believes himself to be a deity. As for afraid of him, you can bet you booty granny, what this guy has in mind for America should scare the hell out of everyone.

As for the race card, this guy is the Joker. Nothing he say, does or promises can be taken seriously. To use the vernacular, "Shirley," he jests but then I am sure Shirley already knew that.

It causes great angst to realize that even some of McCain's supporters are criticizing him for his Paris/Britney ad. Obama believes he is above criticism and that anything critical is below the belt. He should listen to his own rhetoric when slamming McCain, distorting his statements and casting him in ridicule.

Barack Obama could have won the November elections with room to spare if he had, had the patience and demeanor to remain above the fray. His ego, his inexperience, his arrogance his attitude and his radical associations and beliefs betrayed him. Thank God.

Obama is
a racist.

the race card does work
I have already been called a racist of some sort for not liking Obama. Nevermind that Obama has no connection to the black descendants of slaves in America. Kenya is not even near where slaves came from. Of course, his mother had slaveholding ancestors.

I agree there is racism. The generalization comparing Obama to the vast majority of black Americans who at least have a historical connection to slavery and Jim Crow is such an example.

Many (if not most) whites are brainwashed into believing things about "evil" white history (nevermind that certain groups like Estonians, Albanians, Sorbs and Tatars have no connection whatsoever to any racial policy in America (few if any people of those ethnicities lived in America in the 19th century).

The Definitive Obama Expose' Hits Stands
"The Obama Nation-Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality" by Jerome Corsi,Ph.D, the co-author of "Unfit for Command" the Swift Boat Veteran's expose' of John Kerry (the book that helped defeat that seditious traitor in 2004), will go on sale Aug.1.

It has been steadily climbing the charts and at late-evening is already at No.11 on the Amazon list. (Nancy Pelosi's new autobiography has in contrast dropped from the high 500s all the way down to 1,191 in a single day!)

Corsi was on Mark Levin this evening, and claims to have the GOODS on Barack Hussein! (DOCUMENTED with over 600 referenced footnotes)

Corsi claims to examine and expose:

Obama's extensive connections with Islam.

The nature of his 20yr relationship with the Black Liberation Theology of Jeremiah Wright.

Obama's connections with Kenya.

Obama's involvement with the slumlord empire of Chicago political fixer Tony Rezko.

Obama's anti-nuclear weapon (for America) foreign policy.

GUARNTEED to have the same affect in waking up American voters that "Unfit for Command" did!

I can't wait 'til the bookstore opens!!

Preemption
Essentially, when Barack Obama sayeth that George Bush and John McCain are "going to try to do is make you scared of me. You know, he's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills", he is employing what is commonly known as preemption.

Well, I am announcing early, to family, friend, and now publicly, that I am voting for Barack Obama for president of the United States. Why? Because he is black.

Let me explain: I could only half-heartedly for McCain because he just does nothing for me. Barack Obama, on the other hand, has displayed the audacity to challenge anyone who doesn't support him as being afraid and clinging to guns and religion; and being from a small town in Pennsylvania, I am extra sensitive to that charge. Hence, I am preempting any anticipated charge of racism by announcing early that I am in Barack Obama's camp.

But there is one small caveat: since Barack Obama is only half-black, I can only half-way support him, much the same way a vote for McCain could only be given half-heartedly. But at least a half vote for Barack Obama relieves me of any charge as being a fearful, gun-clinging, religious nut-job of a racist.

I feel better already.

McCain's Been Around The Block
McCain has been around long enough to KNOW that ANYTHING, no matter how insignificant (such as a middle name), would be used against him. McCain isn't going to give Obama that kind of ammo; no way, no how. McCain will have to use reality (such as gas prices, drilling & refining, taxes, etc.) to attack Obama. This is a presidential election these two men are in! Obama can't call ALL opposition by McCain as racist or attacks. Seems like the kitchen is going to get too hot for Obama long before November. Wait until the 527 commercials REALLY start rolling. EVERYTHING will automatically be labeled as "racist'" "attacks," "dirty tactics," or "swiftboating." Obama expects no opposition whatsoever; who ever heard of an election with NO opposition?

There are fundamental differences between these two candidates seeking to lead America. The only thing you need to really consider is: Which candidate more closely holds my view of America, of the necessity of our economy and standard of living, of our future prosperity, of our view of the Constitution & Bill of Rights vs. World Socialism. Which one would you rather have in a foxhole with you? Think hard, and think long; which one?

.......
-----Obama's problem is that
he has not defined what "change" means...and the American people are not willing to buy off on a blank check........Robert------

Haven't you been paying attention? Change means hope and hope means change, what more do you need to know?

BooHoo Express Is Obama's
Obama has been traveling around, starting in Germany, emphasizing the fact that, "I don't look like all those Presidents on those dollar bills." This is playing on race and race-baiting. Pure and simple.

Everybody that has two working EYES in his or her head can see that he's "black." Why does he constantly throw this fact up in everybody's face?

I'm a black man, but as an American and a patriot, I found it VERY offensive to see this knucklehead try to make what amounted to an off-color (no pun intended) joke about his DIFFERENCE OF COLOR to the German people that day!! It was NOT funny. It was sickening and divisive. It was an INSULT to the very nation and people he expects to ELECT him to the Presidency.

He is the one who is obsessed with skin color.

White people were flocking to him in droves until they found out about HIS 20yr association with the most DESPICABLE Black racists and race-hustlers in Chicago!!

He WHINING now, is just as despicable as his continuing to mouth the RACIST comments in Germany.

He's not funny...

He's pathetic.

Thanks, Once-a-Marine!
Thanks alot!! Just when I thought I had figured it out, you had to inject the reverse racism card. Now I have to go back and reanalyze my certainty. You're no help.

A bit of a stretch
A bit of a stretch to claim Obama is playing the race card. He was responding quickly and forcefully, before any Willy Horton and Swift Boat Veterans for Truth type attacks can even get traction. Deal with it. But what do facts have to do with right-wing blogs?

Clearly, the talk-radio host was paying an anti-Muslim card. Yes. People sometimes used JFK's and FDR's full names, but their middle name was not emphasized and it was very rare that their full names were repeatedly used in a discussion.

If this country wasn't so racist, this POTUS election would indeed be over by now. McCain has no ideas about how to fix the problems caused by Bush 2 (as well as Bush 1 and Ronald Reagan) and so much recent conservative political dominance; in fact, he wants to continue those same failed policies. I would have preferred John Edwards or Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee, but Obama is what we have. He's the anti-Bush and the anti-McCain, and that's more than enough for me.

KaaSee
I don't see how ANY American (black or white) could NOT have been offended by Obama's comment about his not looking like the Presidents on our dollar bills, in front of the German people.

That the liberals, themselves don't find it offensive, is a further indictment against their mental acuity (or lack thereof).

Obama's like the little kid who, after getting a few laughs at making a complete fool of himself, continues to repeat the stupid and offensive behavior...his own inflated sense of EGO, getting the better of his judgement.

I absolutely ABHOR this phony, disingenuos, arrogant, propped-up radical, socialist CLOWN!

Oh yeah, sorry to steal your thunder.

FOGHORN: HUSSEIN is ...
Obamas middle name and it IS a MUSLIM name.

You Nut-jobs can't face ANY truth.

Do you think his other names: BARACK and OBAMA are FRENCH or SCOTTISH?

The guy has a MUSLIM name! His father was a MUSLIM! His step-father was a MUSLIM!

HE went to a MUSLIM school.

He dressed up in MUSLIM clothes.

What part of OBAMA HAS A MUSLIM BACKGROUND don't you understand?

What do you idiots think he is: IRISH?

Once-a-Marine
Thank you for your thoughtful reply. And I am sorry if I lit your fuse.

KaaSee
I've been worked up for a long time in trying to expose the danger having a radical/socialist Black Nationalist anti-America President like Obama would pose to America and its institutions and economic (and military) standing in a world where we are under attack, by not only Islamic Facsist, but the Homo/Abortionists so-called "progressive" subversives in our own country.

However, I think enough people are beginning to wake up to what this "rock star" is really trying to unleash on America (and Americanism).

Nevertheless, sometimes I wish I had the opportunity to fan his head...

...with a brick!

Playing the race card?
Lowery has been waiting so long to write this column he forgot present evidence that Obama is playing the race card. All he says is what some have said is true--that some are afraid of him. (A friend just told me he spoke to his aunt who's a democrat who said she's not voting for him because he's black.) Obama has not and will not use race in an accusatory way ala Sharpton, and we have Shelby Steele for helping us understand why--'challengers' alienate whites, 'bargainers' work with them. Not only that, Obama doesn't race relations in that simplistic way. People like Rich Lowery want Obama to play the race card so bad they have to pretend he's played it to make Obama look bad. His opponents are that desperate. Get back to us Rich when you have a story. And it won't be about Obama playing the race card; he won't do it. But you will.

SO utterly confused NOW
I have never been a racist:
SO if I do not vote for Obama, I will become a racist:

IS the RACE CARD GAME anything like Texas Hold'em? I know that card game:

Suppose because he already put his face and name on the Presidential seal, and did the victory lap around Europe, and now his face will be on some $$$$$$$$ bill, what about Mt Rushmore ?;;; Because he has already assembled a transition team, etc. I should have to vote for the self crowned World leader Obama.

That "INFLATE YOUR TIRES" invention really caught my eye: That is so Brilliant: it will save the planet, keep us warm, feed us etc.

Never been to an Ivy League School, so that is what you learn there:

I could have been President too if I had an IVY LEAGUE education: YOU think ??

To DCR and all the other dupes
If Obama is so above the race card business, explain his following the "BLACK Value System" in which he subscribed to its precepts, No.11 of which states (and I quote):

"Pledge ALLEGIANCE to all BLACK leaders who espouse and embrace the BLACK Value System"?

After you parse and spin THAT ONE, try answering why he and his wife chose to join the ONLY church in Chicago that practices BLACK Liberation Theology?

For ALL of his adult life, this man (and his Angela Davis-clone wife) have been IMMERSED in race and racialism.

No, he doesn't "look like any of those Presidents on all those dollar bills."

That ain't the only thing he doesn't have in common with them (or me)either.

WELL, I figured it out:
Obama's change means:

He can twist, distort, fabricate, change the facts without blinking, anytime:

He can play the race card and send a shudder through the country.

He can present his Marxist proposals and everyone cheers, because it would be "CHANGE" for the USA

HE has changed the term of POTUS to 10 years and will be President of 57 states.

He changed the Presidential seal, put his face and name on that already:

NOW he wants his face on some $$$$$ bill. probably MT Rushmore too:

He invented "INFLATE YOUR TIRES" to save the planet, keep you warm, feed you forever.

He will make sure that everyone in the world gets an equal share of everything:

Taft reply #9
Let's see now :

"According to someone who worked for him, Rove, dissatisfied with the campaign's progress, had flyers printed up—absent any trace of who was behind them....".
............................................
I guess the operative fact in that deflection away from the mighty "O" was "According to someone"

With a brick?
Thanks, Marine for the giggle. I immediatly got a picture of that momentous event. I bet
there would be a ringing hollow sound.

DCR
Bill Clinton, himself, has accused Barack Obama of playing the race card. Now, I've never known Bill Clinton to lie, except that once and it was just a little white lie, so there may be something to it.

Having said that, I now stand a little uncertain, once again because of Once-a-Marine, but I will endeavor to resolve my dilemma. If Barack Obama does come out and go Al Sharpton, I will have to reconsider John McCain.

Oncealwaysamarine
Well, first off, his membership in Trinity is not the subject of Lowry's piece. Lowry's claim that Sen. Obama plays the race card, which isn't true as far as I can see.

Trinity Lutheran Church has good and bad. I believe the church offered Obama a black experience he didn't have in his upbringing--a black experience culturally and religiously that offered support and hope for those Chicago south side blacks who are struggling--as so many are in our cities. Yes, some of of Wright's sermons went over the top--I'll grant you that. Is Obama a marxist black nationalist? No.

Is any of this important for an Obama presidency? No, not from my view. I don't know what policies or initiatives that cause so much alarm and fear.

By the way, after he's president for four years I think you'll grow to like him. (And he will win--look at McCain 's pathetic campaign thus far.)

The Lefterrists
Why is it when facts are stated by over 300 US Veterans led by a Medal of Honor winner stated facts it is called an attack by foghorn in reply #22 . Why is it when we question the demi-god we are attackers and racists and ignoramuses as viruddh in reply #5 states.

Many of us are getting disgusted being told who and what we are by the Lefterrists.

DCR #34
"Is Obama a marxist black nationalist? No."

Just because you say it does not mean we have to believe it.

Just because we question it does not mean we are racists.

The shame of this is most of us would be proud to have a qualified black president.

The operative word here is 'qualified'.

KaeSea
Senator Obama will not go Al Sharpton. He will talk about race because others will demand he respond to silliness like Lowry's piece. The Clinton claim that he 'played the race card' is more silliness. See link:

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/04/bill-clinto n-ob.html

I think we probably all enjoy reading these Townhall pieces--it's entertaining. But really there are bigger issues and more unbiased treatment of these larger issues than the puff pieces on this site. Don't get me wrong the far left has puff and silliness too---but really, look at the topics. This site and the posters generally go ad hominem--personal attacks are the norm. There is no reporting, no investigative work. It's attitude and anger as 'journalism.'

Bob
I never said you or anyone else made racist comments. No, you don't have to believe me---but what is your evidence? Trinity Church is not enough for me---Obama's whole life has not embodied a black nationalist agenda. The Harvard Law Review is not a radical journal. Yes, they are on the left, further left than Bill Clinton. But mostly Obama's views seem pretty mainstream.

KCR
Obama's childhood mentor Frank Marshall Davis, who Obama, himself admits as being one of the most influential people in his life, is a long-time Communist (proven).

Obama claims in his book "Dreams of My Father" that he sought out & aligned himself with Marxists professors. (pgs.99-100)

He is currently (if you are listening) playing the race card by traveling around the world, and now back in the U.S., with his comments about "not looking like the Presidents on all those dollar bills" and saying things like, "they are going to try to make you scared of me." Even liberals can hear the innuendos being made in such comments referencing RACE.

He is the one who continues to make his race and issue.

And I ask you, how else can he defend his associations with Jeremiah Wright and Trinity, if not by trying to project "guilt" onto white people in constantly making these little snide remarks?

If he isn't trying to purposely play the race card, then WHY did he make such a comment in GERMANY? What was he trying to prove? That America is racist? Is he trying to humiliate white Americans into voting for him?

We can agree to disagree.

This guy is the liberals' horse, and its clear that since he's all you have, you guys are going to ride this one out to the end.

But I'm afraid you have put all your chips on a loser (again!)

For all the hype, the polls don't reflect the popularity you all seem to think his campaign has.

If McCain is still in a virtual tie with this guy after eight years of Bush. McCain ain't the ONLY one running a horrible campaign.

Hillary or Edwards would have had a 25 point lead by now.

Admit it. You guys backed the WRONG horse (just like you did with Kerry and Gore).

You lose again.

DCR
What do you know about south side of Chicago? Just asking.

DCR
I'm sorry, I meant DCR, not KCR.

Once-a-Marine
Have you been reading Horowitz? Just asking.

Kae Sea
No, I have not read Horowitz. I'm familiar with the name. I'll have to check him out.
But one other point: This "Change" slogan that Obama uses, is right out of the Marxist handbook. It is not original, it's right out of the Saul Alinsky handbook.
And "class warfare"--the (rich) "oppressor vs. the (poor or black) oppressed" is the foundation of Marxism.
If one listens to Obama's rhetoric, it is the only tool he uses.
What Obama is offering is:Redistribution of wealth, divide and conquer, rich vs. poor, blacks ("oppressed")vs whites ("oppressor"), poor ("oppressed") vs rich ("oppressor") Marxism 101.

The good news is that HE stands to be the loser in this debate over who's playing the race card, because with his past associations with Trinity, Wright, and Louis Farakhan, he can't benefit from the exposure.

Oncealwaysamarine
I had Marxist professors who I looked up to---and would have mentors had I been looking for them. But I am not nor have I ever been a communist. Marx's analysis of capitalism is very powerful---but I'm not a marxist. I'm a liberal through and through--i believe in rights, markets (regulated), and representative democracy. No need to be afraid.

All the "race" comments you mention seem, well, not very compelling evidence. In the course of a campaign millions of comments are made. Again, Obama mentions race, talks about not looking like past presidents, but this pretty innocuous stuff.

Thinking skin deep
DCR writes - 2:09 AM EST

=====

You honestly think Obama would be so stupid as to write about his church teaching in the Harvard Law Review?

ANY moron knows better than that.
You just show how shallow your thinking is, or a committed supporter no matter what the truth is cause you are just like him

Talent Scout et tal.
Just curious, do you think Martin Luther King Jr. was a communist? One of his main advisors Bayard Rustin was a member of the Communist Party from 1939-42.

Do you believe that Senator Obama does not believe in rights? The free-market? Democracy as voting? Marx rejected all those ideas.

This 'communist' talk is really quite silly--a canard.

DCR
I cringed for him, when I heard Obama make the statement in Germany about the dollar bills. For all your denying it,it was playing the race card. And I have every confidence that the majority of Americans believe the same way I do about it.

If McCain (or one of the 501Cs) ever gets the guts to take the gloves off by posing this simple question in a campaign ad:

"Does America need a President who, for the past 20 years, worshipped at the altar of a pastor who feels this way about America (plays sound bite of Wright's G**d**m America sermon) and (USKKK of A sermon)"then claims we are playing the race card to ask him why he stayed there for 20 years? (plays Obama in Germany making the dollar bill remark)"America needs a President who doesn't see only color, but respects all Americans, I am that man."

Cry racism all he wants, Obama will be through.

Obama is on the ropes. He and his campaign, if you notice, are already reacting to EVERY campaign ad that the McCain people put out. Within minutes!!

They are defensive about every ad McCain's people put out. And the more they whine, the weaker he will appear.

People are beginning to see Obama's constant protestations as a sign of the weakness in the Democrat candidate's character, that it is.

Harvard Law Review
As for what Obama wrote in the Harvard Law Review, nobody seems to know!! For some reason no one has been able to gain access to ANY of the things he wrote while at Harvard!! Has anyone seen anything he wrote while there?

His Master thesis has never been released either.

Is he hiding something?

DCR- Martin L. King was Republican
Go to http://www.blackrepublicans.com and you will find out that Martin Luther King,Jr. was a Republican.

DCR
Make that http://nationalblackrepublicans.com or just Google: was Martin Luther King a Republican?

DCR
"But mostly Obama's views seem pretty mainstream."

Mainstream? Holy crap! I must have just woken from a coma because I thought I was pretty mainstream. Now I find out that I'm to the right of Atila the Hun because I find ALL of Obama's views so far to the left that I can't even fathom living under that type of government. I served in the US Navy in order to AVOID living under leftist regimes. I guess confiscating legitimate profits from a private company in order to punish them for making too much money (less than 10% profit) is just a normal everyday capitalist thing to do.

"There is no reporting, no investigative work. It's attitude and anger as 'journalism."

If I had read only this statement in your post, I could have easily assumed that you were writing about any of the mainstream media pieces. It's pretty sad that Katie Couric has had the toughest questions for Barack Obama since his run for President started.

"There are over 10% of the population who believe
that Obama is a Muslim.

Want to make a bet that they get all their
information from right-wing ignoramuses for
whom truth means nothing, if it helps them win
an election."

And where do you get YOUR information? DailyKOS? Glad to see YOU aren't ignorant. Try watching FoxNews once in a while, they've stated over and over again that he isn't a Muslim. 10% of the population probably believe that alien abductions are fact. Are you going to blame right-wing "ignoramuses" for that too?

I'm speechless
In reply #2, Robert wrote something I totally agree with. Unbelievable. (I haven't read past reply #2 at this point, so for all I know by reply #30 Robert's said something that is either really stupid or provably false, but I'm going to cherish this moment for what it's worth.)

Foghorn and Kimbat
"responding forcefully" before anything has happened? Maybe you weren't an English major, Foghorn, but you can't respond to something BEFORE it has happened! If McCain is really a racist who is going to say "don't vote for Obama because he's black" then all Obama has to do is wait for it to happen and the media will play it 24/7. The fact is McCain has kept race out of this for the entire campaign and Obama can't stand it, so Obama's infusing race into things.

DCR
Your defense of Obama, and your conclusion his remarks indicate neither racism noe adherence to marxism is perfectly understandable. After all, you are a typical bitter black person, clinging to black liberation theology, guns, and antipathy to those with different ethnic background.

Cheap Thrills for a Dollar!
I don't think Obama intended to play the race card when observing he doesn't look like the "other presidents" (interesting choice of words, is it not?). He's just cranky because his poll numbers didn't surge following the One World United Under His Worshipful Leadership tour.

Kidding aside, Obama is using one of the oldest dirty tricks around. I call it the False Attribution Ploy, where the whining Democrat falsely accuses a Republican of making statements that were never made. It's a variation of the victimhood game that Democrats play so exquisitely. Except in the current example, Obama is whimpering not about anything McCain has yet said, but what McCain supposedly will say at some future date. Instead of "Mommy, look what Johnny did to me!" Obama is saying "Mommy, look what Johnny is going to do to me! Johnny is going to say I don't look like other presidents!"

McCain could have some fun with this. The next time he's interviewed and asked why he's better qualified than Obama, he should pull out a dollar bill, hand it to the interviewer, and say with deadpan seriousness, "Because I look like the guy on this dollar bill."

(The camera zooms in to McCain's cut-and-pasted picture).

YOUARACIST? That is all he has left?
Boy, he is turning into Mondale faster than even I expected him to.

And by the way, did you pipe the Elvis Presley accent he adopted when speaking in Mississippi? I did not hear that accent when he spoke in Germany. Is this what he meant by being bilingual?

All About Race
Of course B. Hussein plays the race card because he is all about race. He jolly well knows that he would not be a candidate for the presidency if he were not black. Everyone else knows it, too. He, his malcontented wife, and his scurrilous friends have played the race card like a fiddle and they expect the American people to sing. Guess what? I'm not singing. We do not need to have an unqualified minority president, especially one who detests the majority and who is contemptuous of the nation. The 'change he believes in' will bring the nation to its knees and bankrupt the citizens. Our enemies must be rubbing their hands with glee. I, personally, am weary of the race debate and am fed up with the race baiters. It is time for the messiah to return to the pews in Chicago and save the congregants of his church.

I will not vote against Obama
based on the color of his skin. I will vote against him because his position on just about every significant issue is virtually identical to that of Karl Marx. Marx's political views have been thoroughly discredited. Every time they have been tried, they have resulted in widespread misery. The only beneficiaries of Marxism are government officials and their cronies. If Obama is not aware of this he is an idiot. If he is aware of it he is evil. Either way, he is totally unfit for public office.

Obomunist/DCR
Anyone who could deny BHO is a marxist is more then likely also a marxist, that or a BORG.

A page from Jung (the undiscovered self)
All mass movements, as one might expect, slip with the greatest of ease down an inclined plane made up of large numbers. Where the many are, there is security; what the many believe must of course be true; what the many want must be worth striving for, and necessary, and therefore good. In the clamour of the many resides the power to snatch wish-fulfilments by force; sweetest of all, however, is that gentle and painless slipping back into the kingdom of childhood, into the paradise of parental care, into happy-go-luckiness and irresponsibility. All the thinking and looking after are done from the top; to all questions there is an answer, and for all needs the necessary provision is made. The infantile dream-state of the mass man is so unrealistic that he never thinks to ask who is paying for this paradise. The balancing of accounts is left to a higher political or social authority, which welcomes the task, for its power is thereby increased; and the more power it has, the weaker and more helpless the individual becomes.
Whenever social conditions of this type develop on a large scale, the road to tyranny lies open and the freedom of the individual turns into spiritual and physical slavery.

Straw-man argument
I have never seen, anywhere, any Republican or conservative columnist or operative suggest that Obama's appearance or race should be an issue. It is just assumed that to be Republican is to be racist and play the race card.

BTW, it was unfair to compare Obama to Britney Spears; she has a longer resume and more employees.

Just pass the arugula
okay?

Obama vs Bush
When democrats want to discredit someone or someone's ideas they link them to people they have made to represent evil conservatism. Limbaugh and Bush come to mind.

What has Obama stood for? Saving the Hussein administration. Pull out of Iraq before sectarian violence stopped. Embryonic stem cell research and the belief that there is Man made global warming.

What has Bush stood for? Eliminate Hussein. Stay with the Iraqi population until their security is insured. Restrict embryonic stem cell and not so sure about man made global warming.

What have we got. A world without the tyrant. A free Iraqi population which will soon have it's own security forces throughout the country

Science which has come up with other means of creating stem cells and proving little evidence to show man made global warming.

Bush right Obama wrong.

Obama a marxist?
Criticize his health care plan as an infringement on your property rights. Believe the market and the technological advances that accompany it will give us the energy we need and a solution to our environmental concerns. Argue that stem cells are human beings and that abortion is murder. Reject the United Nations as corrupt, inefficient, and a threat to US sovereignty. Insist Saddam was a legitimate national security threat, the surge worked, and we may have to attack Iran. Reject affirmative action as reverse racism and same-sex marriage as a violation of natural law. Etc.

These positions at least contain arguments however flawed. But mislabeling someone a communist is not worthy of you. Read some Marx and see whether Obama supports and is working toward violent world revolution, repudiating property property and wanting to eliminate government.

Who is the real racist?

Sadly, it appears that Obama's racism is very ingrained. He is "projecting" racism to his apponents, but that tactic fails the smell test.
He statement is "they will" do this and do that, not that "they DID" this or that.
That is PROJECTION and assigning racism to another, and is actually a slanderous attack towards any who oppose him.

I oppose him, clearly for obvious reasons, namely his Marxist and socialist and racist idealogy.

His Claim to be a uniter is blatantly false. He should have united people in the church he attended so long. After all, he is of both black and white blood. Instead, he absorbed black anger being spouted by the so called Reverend and cringes regarding his white grandmother. Could he not have challenged that congregation to see the good in people of both races? How could he unite people, when he has no history of any success at doing so?

His training at the Alinsky school shows in the tactics he uses in this campaign.

I hope McCain stares him right down and doesn't flinch to the racist accusations, because that's exactly what he wants, so he can say AHA.
McCain is not racist, but Obama sure shows signs of it.

The Alinsky method is based on division. I hope the readers get that book by Mr. Corzi. We will learn what Obama has been trying to conceal and it is very important that we educate ourselves and our neighbors, before this pied piper leads this country off the cliff to distruction.

DCR
You never answered my question: Just what do you know about south Chicago that you spouted off about a few hours ago? Huh?

Playing The Race Card.
I am not a racist. If I had never seen Barack Hussein and only heard his speeches, interviews, pastors, etc. I would vote against him. His history is enough to scare any American into trying to assure he does not win..

He may or may not want socialism. The promises of 'changes' he advocates tell a different story. Everything he says smacks of socialism. Alinski and Davis would be proud of their protege.

I know of no one who has made race a factor in this race, except Obama himself. He is paving the way to make it appear voters were racists when he loses. Many blacks will feel the same and trouble will follow. Barack Hussein will be the instigator.

Taft
I would never vote for Obama, not because of his race. Only because he's an avowed socialist. That being said, he is playing the race card as much as anyone.

Obama Quotes:

"Oh by the way, I'm black."

"I don't look like the men on the dollar, or the 5 dollar bill."

"typical white person." Talking about his Grandmother for goodness sake!

These are from his books:

From Dreams of My Father: "I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

From Dreams of My Father : "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."

From Dreams of My Father : "There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white."

From Dreams of My Father : ; "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

From Dreams of My Father : "I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois and Mandela."

From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

It looks like race is, if not the most important, at least a priority in his life. I also won't vote for someone who's priorities aren't the good of the United States of America.

Well stated, sir.

Obama Expose' Hits The Stands!! Amen

I'm going to B.Dalton to get my copy right now!!

Obama Never Saw This As An Election only
Barack Hussein, a student of the teachings of Communist Frank Marshall Davis, Karl Marx, Saul Alinksy, and Jeremiah Wright (who was a Black Muslim, before he became a Black Liberation Theologian) never saw his candidacy as being merely an election.

This was to be the "Revolution" realized, putting him in line with his heroes, Che Gueverra, Daniel Ortega, Chavez of Venezuela, Castro of Cuba.

These are the kinds of people he relates to...
...and the ones he wishes to impress. Under his leadership, they would get REPARATIONS for all the evil the U.S. KKK or A. has done throughout it racist/awful history.

He wants to champion the cause of the Louis Farahkans, Jeremiah Wrights, William Ayers, Rashid Khalanis...all the people he has emulated and idolized all these years.

The student, becoming the MASTER.

...and all the Glory, to Barack Hussein Obama for the CHANGE he would usher in.

He wants only to give white people their come-uppin's...by turning America upside down.

OncealwaysaMarine
Thank you for reminding people what the term swift boating really means.

John Kerry turned out a bunch of pretend Vets to help his run for office. One of the saddest days in Congressional history.

Hopefully people will come to realize what Nancy Pelosi, Reid, Obama and Hillary really mean to this country. Iraq belongs to Hussein. Embryos belong to science. Man made global warming will kill us all.

Wrong on Iraq. Wrong on the science of stem cells. Wrong on global warming.

Democrats fix Health Care??? What happened when they tried to fix Medicare? Doctors had to give up on Medicare patients because they could not pay for their staffs forcing people into emergancy rooms.

KaeSea
Spouted off? Anyway, I live fairly close to Chicago, visit often, have friends that live there, and in particular a friend who teaches in the south side. Granted, there are middle-class and few upper-class neighborhoods so generalizing has its problems, but suffice it to say there a good many blacks living in high-crime areas with poor schools and not much opportunity. That Trinity provides support and hope for those not as fortunate as many was no doubt a significant draw for Senator Obama.

DCR--question?
If Trinity is doing such great work, why did Obama not stand up for his wonderful church?

He and his wonderful wife were proud members for 20 years.

...rather than resigning from it, he should have STOOD UP for it and its Pastor.

That's what makes his CHARACTER the ISSUE that it is.

What is "Playing the Race Card"?
My understanding of the term is that someone is "playing the race card" when they insert race into a discussion to obscure the matter at hand or gain an unfair advantage.

Does any mention of race mean that someone is playing the race card? If so, then any article or discussion in Townhall focused on race is "playing the race card."

I think we can agree that the mere mention of race, is not in and of itself, "playing the race card."

Now, what did Obama do or say to have this charge leveled at him?

"In leveling the charge, Mr. Davis was referring to comments that Mr. Obama made Wednesday in Missouri when he reacted to the increasingly negative tone and negative advertisements from the McCain campaign, including one that likens Mr. Obama’s celebrity status to that of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

“So nobody really thinks that Bush or McCain have a real answer for the challenges we face, so what they’re going to try to do is make you scared of me,” Mr. Obama said in Springfield, Mo., echoing earlier remarks. “You know, he’s not patriotic enough. He’s got a funny name. You know, he doesn’t look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills, you know. He’s risky. That’s essentially the argument they’re making.”

In this excerpt, Obama, doesn't even mention race explicitly. He lists several categories of fear mongering (patriotism, foreign sounding name, risk) that he predicts John McCain will use to try to scare voters.

This does not qualify as playing the race card by any stretch of imagination.

Allen
Yeah, they're doing a GREAT job with Medicare.

Except that the doctors that really treat Medicare patients have to be careful that they don't treat too many patients too well (and charge it to Medicare) for fear of the Feds trumping up charges against them.

They've already railroaded one of my hometown's most respected physicians who had opened his own pain clinic & physical therapy center. (He was largely responsible for helping my grandmother to live to be 99 years of age!)

Doctors like this do not fit Medicare's profile.

They charged him with billing fraud, sent him to Federal prison for 10 years, and the hospital that he was showing up, ended up with his building, medical equipment, and his practice.

That's what we should expect from a government takeover of the Healthcare industry.

OncealwaysaMarine
Let's face it---it became a political liability. In the midst of the campaign that white priest (forget his name) made offensive characterizations of Hilary Clinton. In the midst of a campaign any controversy at the church would distract from more important issues, even though Wright is not a pastor there anymore. Our political culture is "gotcha" without context, subtlety, or thoughtful analysis. (Which isn't to say one cannot legitimately criticize Obama for his membership--which I have done. It is a trivial issue from my perspective.)

Look at the Swift Boaters---they claims debunked, they were part of the Bush-Rove matrix of funding and support---and people still criticize a man who served honorably in Vietnam while President Bush got into the National Guard via his dad's connections. Unbelievable! Now I never made Bush's lack of a record at the Guard, nor his drug use an issue--I care about policy and the caliber of individual he chooses for his administration. In that regard Bush has been wanting shall we say.

tubbs
"he doesn't look like all those other Presidents on all those dollar bills" is clearly an allusion to race, idiot.

...nice try!

Try again, numbnuts.

Thanks for being so civil marine!
That's about the type of response I'd expect from a cult member such as yourself.

If you could take your tin foil hat off for a minute though and actually read what Obama said, you would find:

a) no explicit mention of race

and

b) a reasonable prediction of fear mongering tactics given the previous eight years of Karl Rove character attacks (remember how they went after McCain? talking about his temper and his alleged illegitimate "Black" child? It appears McCain now uses that playbook)

Thanks again for keeping it civil.

DCR
A man who is running for President who belonged to a RACIST church, took favors from a CONVICTED criminal political fixer (who he knew was under Federal investigation for racketeering at the time), and who sought the aid to his political aspirations from an unrepentant subversise self-confessed terrorist, may be TRIVIAL to you.

Not to me.

Such a man needs to provide some answers.

Obama is not FIT to be President of this country.

Republican Fear Mongering is the Issue
Obama responded in general to the ways in which Republicans play on citizens' fears to win elections. And he is right. Mushroom clouds in DC. Iraq attacked us on 9/11. McCain has an illegitimate Black child. Democrats are Marxists who want to turn the U.S. into a Communist state.

These are fear mongering tactics.

South Side of Chicago
it's the meanest part of town. Ever'body knows there's a lesson 'bout messin' with a cat called Leroy Brown.

That one's for you KaeSea. ;-)

It's not innocuous, DCR
"Again, Obama mentions race, talks about not looking like past presidents, but this pretty innocuous stuff. "

It's deceptive. It's a wholesale attempt to characterize any and all criticism as being based on his race. We do have reason to "fear" what this man represents, but the color of his skin has nothing to do with it.

Fear, Fear, and More Fear!
No need to debate the issues.

Just talk about how scary Democrats are. Boo! Scary Democrats! Boo scary Liberals!

If you elect a Democrat they'll take all your money and give it to poor people!!!

If you elect a Democrat Al Qaida (all 200 of them) will take over the entire country!!!!

They'll make every man woman and child have an abortion!!!!

They'll take your guns and give them to gang members!!!

Fear!!! Fear!!! and more Fear!!!

OncealwaysaMarine
Look, we can play the personality as politics game all day. Eisenhower had an affair with his secretary, Bush was a drunk who probably used coke, McCain was implicated in the Keating Five and changes positions as often as a porn star, Reagan etc etc etc etc. The matrix of politics and money makes for associations that are not pure. There are a few, but very few political saints and they never make it close to the presidency. So what we've got are the answers McCain and Obama give to the issues of the day--national security, health care, Iraq, Supreme Court appointments, collapsing infrastructure, etc.

I don't care who kissed whom or has considered arguments from right or left wing fanatics---Obama will make the US safer, more prosperous and our society more just. McCain will not. It's time to get serious.

If people want to focus on the likes of Jeremy Corsi's libelous sewage, so be it--but I believe its a profound mistake. And taking the puff and powder on Townhall seriously is also mistaken. Let' all read some thick books on important topics that are peer-reviewed and have a talk. Let's leave the Ann Coulter and Al Franken screeds on the shelves and figure out some answers!

tubbs
Democrats are already taking my money and giving it to poor people--AND rich people, like Ted Turner, David Letterman, and Scottie Pippen.

A Democrat (Bill Clinton) could have imprisoned Al Qaida's leader during the 90s, but couldn't be bothered with it. This after Al Qaida murdered Americans in the first WTC bombing.

Democrats don't force anybody to have abortions, but they do force men to pay for abortions for women they did not impregnate.

Democrats do not want to give my guns to gang members, but they darn sure want to take them away from me, leaving me defenseless.

Yes, you're right; we have plenty to fear from Democrat politicians.

TrueRedHead
Obama references race with this little throwaway line because he knows--and you know too--that for a good number of whites there's a bit a apprehension for some to vote for a black man--especially older folks socialized by a culture that regularly degraded blacks. I know people are sensitive, and this line upsets quite a few from what I'v gathered, but I know if you criticize Obama's political positions or express genuine concerns for his past, he will greet those objections with argument and evidence.

I suspect Obama may say a few more things, some unfortunate and ill-advised---but now he's responding to McCain likening him to Paris Hilton, implicating him for high gas prices, and accusing him of dissing wounded soldiers. McCain has gone trivial and negative out of desperation. Both these fine men will do and say some things I don't like. But this painting Obama as a marxist and a racist is a distraction and mischaracterization.

Strange People
It is so much fun to read these Barack Hussein apologists try to make him look presentable to the politically astute.

It will not work. He is only parroting Soros'talking points. His history of hanging around leftists for so many years,is helping him. Everything he says is a socialist term.

He is not being 'Swift-boated'. Nor was John Kerry. No one is attacking 'The Big O'. The truth is not an attack. The truth shall set you free.

We would be lax if we,the politically astute, did not warn you naive children of the mistake you are making. We only want to help you in your delusion.

Obama's determination

to make sure abortionists and abortion clinic staff would not be held accountable for leaving innocent babies, already born, to die of neglect tells me all I need to know about him.

Doug
I was thinking the same thing you wrote at 1:59 PM. Everything he said has almost happened...and far worse. He has no redeeming factors...just a Soros parrot.

We will not be intimated by these Barack-bats. They are getting nervous and more strident in their remarks. They give us a bit of comedy relief.

Rowly
Take one substantive issue---national security, health care, energy, environment, etc---and enlighten us (the 'deluded'). Your post speaks of the enlightened without demonstrating enlightenment.

He has yet to do so, DCR
"...if you criticize Obama's political positions or express genuine concerns for his past, he will greet those objections with argument and evidence."

For example, his campaign was deceptive in its response to criticism about his association with Bill Ayers, attempting to make it appear that they were barely acquainted. He is consistently guilty of doublespeak when questioned about past and present positions.

By using hyperbolic references such as "I don't look like those other guys on the dollar bills" and "Oh, by the way, did I mention he's black", he is attempting to frame all who oppose him for any reason as doing so because of his race. It's a tactic intended to inflame the sensitivities of not only those who feel victimized in "racist" America, but those who feel "guilty" because they were born white.

DCR
Just take the opposite of anything your guy is advocating and you will be enlightened. That is if you wish to be.

If you have read my posts over the last few months, you would have learned from an 'enlightened one'.

If you haven't,shame on you. You missed a free tutorial.

DCR
Thank you for your calm and generally positive posts. Obama is the 3rd identity candidate i have watched. JFK and Jimmie Carter were the first 2. They both alienated their naive constituents who thought they were voting for a Catholic and a born-again Christian. Wrong. They were voting for politicians. Illegal immigration, paying for entitlements as demographics increase the receivers and decrease the donators, the education system, govt waste, the energy problem. The only thing solid i have from Obama on these serious things is to put air in my tires, but I am willing to be educated. What do you think Obama will do with these problems?

we have plenty to fear from Democrats
And that's the rub. Fear mongering only works when you have people that are fearful enough on their own to be easily guided.

Then it just takes a mere suggestion to push the ferful over the edge, like that shooter in Tennesse that killed Unitarian church members because of the hateful rantings he'd heard from Sean Hannity and Michael Savage.

Obama did not play the race card. He was tying to help the fearful to save themselves from their own fear.

If you disagree with Obama's policy positions, that's fine. Reasonable people often disagree when looking at the same facts.

But if you allow yourself to be blinded by Karl Rove type smear campaigns about Democrats patriotism, or Obama's religion, or whether Iraq attacked us on 9/11;

then you should just abstain your vote now and let the chips fall where they may.

TrueRedHead
My my aren't we sensitive. This discussion reminds me of having to tame the rhetoric of those on the far Left who take offensive at the whiff of a stereotype.

Do you agree its time we moved on from this discussion---isn't this all non-consequential banter?

I predict
from all we know of Obama so far and how the media has protected him and all the adoring masses...that, if he wins, he will be WORSE than HITLER. Not even Hitler in the beginning had the world-wide adoration that Obama has.
My son was told by an Obamanite weasel that he works with that he is a racist for not supporting Obama and that he(my son) as a union member may very well be blackballed(no Obama pun intended) by the companies hiring union members. Now what kind ofcrap is that? Is that legal?. This is just the beginning if THE antichrist wins.

Pistol
For a start go to the Obama website that explains his positions on the issues.

http://www.barackobama.com/issues/education/

Then I'd go to McCain's site and see his views. Then on to resources on the issues that matter to you. Right now I'm compiling internet resources materials for teachers to use for the 2008 election. If you want I can send you the sites. We look for objective presentation of issues, with accuracy and depth. From the conservative perspective, I'd start with the Heritage Foundation and the Hoover Institute.

Janis
You discredit your position with references to Hitler and the anti-Christ. Fortunately, most don't hold McCain or Obama accountable for the silliness that is spoken by their supporters. Unless in an official position, and that's when we expect a firing or resignation--such as Samatha Power or Phil Gramm.

Dear OB - If You Cheat At Poker

Thank God Barack is here to correct our "out of context" thoughts and mismanaged realities.

"Now, you're going to hear..."
And he's right, we do hear it.
But it's always him saying it.

Fear and not playing the race card
It would seem Mr. Obama has to specifically say that this is a race card for some of the liberal types to actually get it. Brilliant.

Rove may have learned his politics of fear from lines from Al Gore when Gore accused HW selling materials for wmd to Hussein, Carl Levin, Hillary Clinton, or Madaline Albright when they were warning of the terrorists wanting such weapons and naming Hussein a danger to the world.

Rove may have picked the fear tactic from Clinton's remark about rhetoric from congress being responcible for the burning of black churches in the south (son of the pastor arrested) or how the terrorist network of the christan right trying to mobalize for a jihad.

Sorry you guys probably need that last remark explained. No leading christian leader has told his congregation to go out and kill in the name of christ to end abortions. Whereas the other peaceful religion often extoles supporters to stone women for being alone with a man not their husband. It has been a practice of the left to make people afraid of the christian right in particular and christians in general.

It's all one piece fellas
Republicans, led by conservatives, start off saying that Democrats, led by Obama, are just itching for terrorists to come to America and blow the heck out of us all. You wouldn't want that, would you? Something to be scared about, isn't it?

And the reason that Obama and the Democrats are itching for the terrorists to come and blow the heck out of all of us is that Obama isn't really American. He doesn't have American values. For one thing he's a Muslim. For another he's a liberation theory black, which is not an American black, because non-liberation theory blacks are OK. So, he doesn't share our - us the real true blue Americans - he doesn't share our values. He's not one of us.

Worse still, he's a latte drinking elitist liberal, socialist, communist snob. Arogant's what he is. He's not one of us and that is why he's just waiting to be president so that he can invite his friends the terrorists to come over to America and blow all us true blue Americans all to smithereens.

Obama's right. Y'all are trying to scare the pants off all us true blue American patriots.

Blatant racist
What would the MSM do if a conservative echoed Barack Hussein Obambas comment, "White-man's greed drives a world in need!" but instead said something about a "Black-man's greed?"

The MSM would be all over it, and the politicians career would be over. That is because conservatives are NOT racist and do not tolerate racism either. More hypocracy from the Dimocrats and the Left.

Obama's racism card
Bill Cosby said, "BLACK STOP BLAMING THW WHITES FOR YOUR PREDICAMENNTS; BILL ADDED, STOP ADDRESSING YOURSELVES AS AFRICAN-AMERICANS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT FROM AFRICA, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE AND WHAT AFRICA IS ALL ABOUT;. In short, go to school and improve your situation, your lives.

Corsi Ph.D's book should be mandatory reading for all Americans. American's should be able to see for themselves what despicable hating liars conservatives are.

I believe his book should accomplish that purpose.

Proud liberal
Talking points used since Bill Cinton and James Carvell.

Poor, Poor Libs fogot that it was Hillary who called Hussein dangerous to the world. It was in the Clinton administration that gave nearly monthly warnings of how the terrorists wanted wmd and something needed to be done. It was the Clinton administration who said it was necessary to hit Husseins ability to produce wmd.

Now you say there is nothing to fear but old Clinton rhetoric.
Clinton rhetoric like when he told us it was the rhetoric from the republican congress that was responcible for the burning of black churches in the south (a pator's son was arrested).

DCR=typical bait & switch
Obamabots always do this. Rant and rave about how he has clearly articulated, consistent policy issues. When pressed to list them, response is to go to Obama's website. I guess, like their leader, they can't state policy issues without reading them from a source-for Obama it's the telemprompter, his followers, "the website."

P.S. Proud Liberal and Kim, I was looking for you two on the other thread about the redistribution of oil company profits. No comments on that? Not surprised. I didn't see any of the Obamanation trying to defend that crap.

Proud Liberal
Your 5:47 PM post was meant as sarcasm, but it was right on the money. I can't quibble with any of it. You know a conservative when you see one. I am afraid. Afraid he will be elected.

Cynthia
Obama supporters don't "always' do this---when asked about the positions on the major issues I don't know many who would care to take 30 mins. outlining them on a blog post. At least I don't have that time or inclination. Just as I don't ask anyone to outline the major points of the Republican platform---a ten second search and you have it.

Why are you so angry---seriously, my exchange was not with you and on other threads I've produced a good deal of information.

I don't believe insulting another furthers debate or understanding.

DCR
So-angry is the alternate word, when not saying racist? Why do I have to be angry, because I challenged you? I didn't write in caps or use excessive punctuation, so what's the deal?

That's another thing about the Obamanation, those who oppose are either racist, angry, or full of hatred. I guess that's the spiel taught at the Obama camps.

As far as the Republican platform, I am voting for McCain because I like his policies on drilling (NOW), taxes (KEEP EM LOW TO LET THE ECONOMY RECOVER), and education (VOUCHERS AND PARENTAL CHOICE). I also trust him to keep the country safe (LEAVE IRAQ HONORABLY, LET OTHERS WHO WOULD THREATEN US KNOW THEY WOULD PROMPTLY GET A SMACK DOWN). This world is dangerous you know. On a personal note, his heroism and sacrifice for America inspires me.

Now, rattle off somethings you like about Obama. I guess you probably think this redistribution of oil company profits is a good idea, as well as the tire inflation/tune-ups solution to our energy issues.

Barry Dunham
Yes, Barry Dunham is his name. Well...., it was his name until he went to college. He decided he wanted street cred. He became Barrack Hussein Obama.

Would Tubbs and Kimberly be as impressed with Barry Dunham as they are with Barrack Hussein Obama?

P.S. he DID play the race card.

The Presidential Election
For the majority of voters this election is not about race, and it should not be about race!
I say for the majority - the African American community will not vote for John McCain - and it is difficult to believe 90% or more of that particular community really do not like John McCain - he is after all a likeable fellow.
However, it can not be denied - Barack Obama has brought up the subject - he himself has brought up the subject and indicated his opponent had intentions of doing so - there is no evidence that is the case. For many of us -the majority of us it is a non issue.
What is an issue is Obama's short resume, his long time association with questionable individuals, and the socialistic policies he thinks this country needs to adopt.
Everything else is ridiculous - he is after all the Democrat candidate - looks do not mean a thing in a Presidential race - but experience and judgement when selecting friends, and ideology - these things require serious consideration.

DCR
Its clear on this site that conservitives believe in country 1st, and the lefty marxist put obomunist ahead of the country.

DCR how much money are you being paid from the obomunist???

Thank you, DCR
Thank you DCR, for finally answering my question @ 12:32 PM EST, just about 10 hours after I first asked.

And as I suspected, you know little, if anything about the south side. Well, I do: In 2000 I worked four months, almost all of it on the south side, every day excluding Sunday. You see, I was splicing cable to upgrade the CATV system and was in the 'hood from 6:30AM to 6:30PM (or later), weather permitting.

During that time, I covered quite a bit of territory and I saw some things and I met some truly fine people living in the 'hood, so I can bear witness to your statement that "there a good many blacks living in high-crime areas with poor schools and not much opportunity." Where we part company is how we assign, in your case blame, in my case responsibility. You, and libs like you, blame America, primarily white Americans, for not spreading the wealth. I see it as a failure of the community to assure that when a business invests in an area, whether it be opening a business or lending money for mortgages, the community has a responsibility to ensure that it doesn't get burned down every ten years or so in rioting, or that, in order to keep goods on the shelf and money in the till, steel bars on doors and windows are not needed. No investor or business owner is going to invest in an area if, on a predictably regular basis, he/she expects to be robbed, or, again to make a profit, charge high prices to account for shrinkage from petty thievery.

I hope I satisfied your curiosity in why I challenged you to explain what you know of the south of Chicago. Now, shall we talk of East Denver or east side of Cleveland? I am conversant on those 'neighborhoods' also.

Oh, and sorry for the delay in answering your reply; I work to support my family, so I haven't the luxury of posting 24/7.

Obama--Kinder-Gentler Race Baiter/Hustle
Obama is not held to any Standards by the MSM because the MSM is on the SAME PAGE AS OBAMA, THE DNC AND THE UN AND WORLD COMMUNISM.

It is up to US U.S. Citizens to stay abreast of things and Not Pay One Bit of Attention To Polls or the MSM. The Media Have An Agenda--To get this Stooge Elected. They see it as a Media Event. I am sure they are Producing Specials Now that Read: The U.S. Elects It's First Black President--See How Far We Have Come???

And, If the Media Plan Does Not Work, the MSM is already Producing the Antithesis to this "First Black" Scenario, that probably goes: "America Does Not Elect Obama---Racism Won Out--Americans Proved that Deep Down The U.S. Is Still Racist Because They Would Not Elect Obama."

See, that is why Obama Was The Perfect Candidate for The Media. They Get To Make The News Themselves no matter how it turns out.

But, in the meantime, they keep Reporting Polls That Try and Brainwash Us Into Believing Obama Is Already Going To Win. They Give Us These Poll Numbers in the Hopes That We Non-Obama Voters Stay Home since the MSM News believe that Their Propagand Polls are Working, and we just Throw Our Hands Up and Say, We Surrender, Why Vote.

But we Are Not That Dumb. The MSM, the DNC and others have Misjudged The Sentiments in Mainstream America, the one's of us who Love Our Country, It's Flag, Our God, Our Families, Our Work Ethics and Loyalty to Our Country Generally.

This MSM Candidate, Obama, Scheme has BackFired on them. They will see the Largest Turnout in History for a Landslide Vote For McCain and Against Obama, And The DNC and The One World Government Crowd.

Nobody wants to affix blame on the Social Engineering That The U.S. government has created and the Bureaucratic Fraud that is being carried out now at every level of government. Everybody got on the Pork Band Wagon, and Created The Mess we are Now Stuck With.

If you point out Crime, Drugs, Rapes, Murders in these Slum Areas that Government Policies made Possible with the Destruction of Work Ethic in Favor of Entitlement Programs; Destruction of Family Values by Telling Unwed Pregnant Teens and others that We Keep Your Entitlements if You Marry; Then, if You Tell Who You Suspect is the Daddy of Yo Baby, we Will Hound Him if he Gets a Job and let The State Take Child Support from Him. The Whole Social Engineering and so-called Anti-Poverty Programs Became Their Own Bureaucratic Empires, and Have No Intention of Ending Poverty because if it did, Their Bureaucratic Empire Would Crumble, so they, in Fact Enlist New Victims all the Time and the Band Plays On.

So, you Get South Chicago that was A Creation of The Welfare State, and then, the Saviors, Other Communists such as Obama and Their Fronts such as ACORN to bail you out, etc.

This is not just true in South Chicago. It has existed in Liberal Democrat Cities for a Long Time. Beginning in the Mid-1960's, the Federal Government Forced This Socialism Down The Throats of the Rest of The Country, and Now you Have This Whole Socialistic Nightmare Being Played Out in Small Towns and Communities all over the Country.

And they Destroyed Public Education in the Process, because they know that Informed and Literate Citizens Would Say No To Government.
