Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

On the very day that Barack Obama announced new fuel efficiency and emissions limits for American cars, Reuters reported that when General Motors goes bankrupt it would be selling its best asset to … Barack Obama.

Fair is fair.

If Obama owns GM he can tell them what kinds of cars to build, at what prices they should be sold, how many seats the UAW should have on their board of directors, and just about anything else he thinks of while eating his morning bran flakes.

From Wikipedia:

In 1953, Charles Erwin Wilson, then GM president, was named by President Dwight Eisenhower as Secretary of Defense.

When he was asked during the hearings before the Senate Armed Services Committee if as secretary of defense he could make a decision adverse to the interests of General Motors, Wilson answered affirmatively but added that he could not conceive of such a situation "because for years I thought what was good for the country was good for General Motors and vice versa."

After what we learned yesterday, in a very real sense: What's good for General Motors IS America.

According to the Reuters piece, the government will extend a line of credit to the company it owns, and will forgive the $15.4 billion in loans it has already provided to the company it owns. If you own something, it just makes sense to forgive the debt to yourself.

Obama will be able to hire and fire executives; decide which dealerships can remain and which must close; how much union workers (and everyone else) should be paid; how much suppliers can charge, and everything else that goes along with owning a major manufacturing company.

He will also determine how much, if anything private lenders - banks and bondholders - will get when GM goes belly-up. Forget about that pesky, quaint business about the sanctity of contracts. That was the old way. This is the new way. This is the OBAMA WAY!

If "change" is what America voted for last November, then "change" is what we're getting.

At some point someone is going to file a suit in Federal court asking for clarity as to just where in the U.S. Constitution it is provided that the Executive Branch can buy a bankrupt car company.

Actually, this might be a good thing for Republicans. When a faceless corporation - or worse yet - a faceless and heartless bankruptcy court - closes down thousands of dealerships in thousands of towns, it's hard to know where to aim your ire.

When the support for the local Jaycees, or the high school cheerleaders, or local churches, or any other of the dozens of local charities and organizations which benefit from help that car dealerships provide in the way of advertising, donations, and being a local community's best corporate citizen vanishes; to whom do you send the angry e-mail?

Now we know. The Owner: Barack Obama.

After Barack Obama takes control of GM, you should Twitter him and tell him what you think about closing your local dealership. Or send him an Instant Message on his Blackberry. Or just call the White House: 202-456-1414.

You think closing military bases have an impact on the comfort zone of Members of the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate? Wait until Mayors and County Commissioners figure out the number of people who will lose their jobs and how much property tax revenue will disappear.

Wait until local newspapers and radio stations total up the advertising dollars which will evaporate and the toll on their employees. See how long the media's love affair with Barack Obama, the owner of General Motors, lasts.

I think it would be a good idea for every town losing a dealership to mount a phone-call campaign to their Member of Congress and ask what they intend to do to reverse that decision.

The number of the Capitol switchboard is: 202-225-3121. When they answer, ask for your Congressman. They'll connect you.

I know absolutely nothing about the automobile business. I've never understood any part of it. On those rare occasions when I have purchased a car, I walked in; saw something I liked; made an offer; paid what they asked for; and assumed I'd been taken advantage of.

But, at the end of the transaction, I had the car I wanted and the dealer got the price he or she wanted. And I always had the option of walking out.

Now that every GM dealership is going to be owned by the Federal government, you might not just have to haggle over the price; you might well have to explain to the on-site IRS agent just how you can afford that new, shiny, 30-miles-per-gallon Obamamobile on the crappy salary you've been reporting for the past five years?

What's good for General Motors is good for … nothing.

Retiree and Individual GM Bond Savers
If you own GM bonds, email me at Retiree and Individual GM Bond Savers at RIGMBS@gmail.com. I personally own RGM series bonds. We have retained legal counsel and demand equal rights for all GM creditors, in or out of bankruptcy court. We welcome you to join us. We are also working closely with http://www.mainstreetbondholders.com/ which has organized rallies to voice our concerns.

Good bye GM
I've had a GM credit card for the last 15 or so years. Two-thirds of the cars that I have bought have been GM cars. I just applied for a new credit card this week and plan to cancel my GM card. I have no intention of buying a union made car from Obama. I will buy an American-made Toyota or Honda.

It's About the Benjamins
The closed car dealerships are not necessarily the lowest performers. They were closed to limit competition. The management decided (with the help of the great and wonderful Oz) which dealerships were close enough to each other that they would be engaged in a price war to give the best deal. The closures were designed to limit competition. This boosts the average cost per car and hurts the consumer, but it does protect the Union jobs (and pay scale) and profitability of the dealers that are left.
Why does this sound like a back door tax on everybody who buys a car from GM or Chrysler? I guess I'm just a paranoid right winger.

Obama,The Socialist
If The Obama Administration was doing this under the cloak of darkness, that would be bad enough, but they are doing it in the broad open daylight. And no one is stopping them. How can that be?

Is there no one that can save the country from this usurper and his minions? A stranger who may not even be an American Citizen? One who despises this country and those who made it work.

HOW ABOUT THAT HOPE AND CHANGE?
So do those 60% (as reflected in most polls) now approve of government control of private industry?

Doubt it, but I'm sure the MSM will obfuscate this move into a positive for "The One."

"Si Se Puede' - YES WE CAN.' It's a philosophy of hope and aspiration that inspires us today." - BO PROPOSING A NATIONAL HOLIDAY FOR COMMUNIST CESAR CHAVEZ - 31 March 2008

Robert
The only way that argument could work is if Obama decides to tell Toyota, BMW, Mercedez, Porche, VW, Nissan, Hyundai, etc dealers that THEY must close to keep GM dealers healthy.

There is plenty of competition. What GM has done is called market cannibalism. This is why Starbucks has been closing stores, having three stores within 50 yards of one another tends to ruin business. Same sales, more expenses and all.

GM has 4 times as many dealers as Toyota does, yet Toyota has more sales. Hmm...

Dissing the Bondholders
Good post, Jamie. I was wondering when the bondholders would start suing.

I thought the "union ownership" of the carmakers was potentially hilarious; how can you negotiate with or strike against something you own majority of? How can you kvetch about what the management makes, when they work for you, & you OK their salaries & if you want the best you get what you pay for? I foresee lots of being hoisted upon own petards here.

Blowing off the bondholders, though, is deeply troubling & has profound ramifications. Who will ever buy a bond from a big company that one day might get nationalized & in the process have all its secured debt, bonds bought in good faith, dishonored & dismissed? Kiss bond issues as a means of borrowing goodbye. Thus this bunch of socialist thugs attacks another aspect of free enterprise, free markets, & private contracts.

SIGH
The guy elected president continues to make policy to weaken this nation. Perhaps it's on purpose to control immigration. If this country sucks as bad as everywhere else, they'll stop coming. I used to think Carter was absolutely the worst president in my lifetime,...we Jimma, move over. It only took him 4 months to "dethrone" Carter. Now the question: Can we survive Obama's change, and if so, how long to recover?

OPEN QUESTION
Does anyone have substantiated information other than opinions, on how closing dealerships will save the manufacturers money?

Socialism?

Feds to inject $7.5B more into GMAC
David Shepardson / Detroit News Washington Bureau
Washington -- The Treasury Department is preparing to announce as early as today that it will invest an additional $7.5 billion in GMAC LLC in a deal that could allow the U.S. government to hold a majority stake in the Detroit-based auto finance company.

GMAC, whose financial good health is key to providing loans for consumers to buy General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC vehicles, has been in talks for several weeks to secure additional capital. It had hoped to close the deal last week.

In December, the U.S. Treasury invested $5 billion in GMAC by buying preferred stock in the finance company. That stock carries a 9 percent dividend, but has no voting rights. Treasury also loaned GM nearly $900 million to buy GMAC stock.

If the Treasury exercised its options from those investments, which would give it voting rights, it could own about 35 percent of GMAC, a person familiar with the matter said Tuesday.

The person said the additional $7.5 billion could allow the Treasury Department to claim a majority stake in GMAC, if it chose to do so. The percentage of that potential ownership stake is unclear.

Limited Availability
This is probably intended to increase the profit margin by increasing the difficulty of going to a different dealer. I have always liked GM products (parts for the small block were cheaper and more readily available). Give me any good reason to buy a government built auto.
P.S. I believe that implementation of "Cap and Trade" or and "Universal Healthcare" would induce an unrecoverable colapse.

A Great Article by Eric Peters
This article over at the American Spectator is fantastic, please read and share...

http://spectator.org/archives/2009/05/20/obama-nails-the-co ffin-shut

On a brighter note
How about the CA election yesterday that shot down tax increases to fund unlimited state spending?

Where is the Republican leadership in denouncing the stealth tax increase of our new messiah on cigarettes and his purposed carbon emission taxes that will increase everone's energy bill, his reckless spending that will shackle our children to a life of interest payments?

If liberal CA is 2/3's opposed to new government taxes surely the rest of the country is in the same mood.

Obama's change means new taxes! Big government is the problem not the solution! No one ever spent his way out of a financial hole!

Public employee unions have ruined CA and subsidizing the UAW will do the same for this country!

Justin@4:38 PM
Justin in IN: in responding to Robert@1:36 PM you said, "ROBERT: The only way that argument could work is if Obama decides to tell Toyota, BMW, Mercedez, Porche, VW, Nissan, Hyundai, etc dealers that THEY must close to keep GM dealers healthy."

That's not really the point. Perhaps you live in a more rural area in IN, I don't know. However, living in Metro Detroit, I can tell you that Robert is 100% correct. In the larger metro areas, eliminating dealerships OF THE SAME BRAND does in fact eliminate competition.

For example, say you have your heart set on a Cadillac Escalade 4x4 with all the trimmings (just to tick off the enviros, or like me are too large to fit in a Geo Metro). In the current situation, I have 5 dealerships within a 10 mile radius and 10 within 20 miles. That's a TON of competition when talking about ONLY Cadillac new-car dealerships.

Now, there's much to be said for "thinking outside the box." But that should not mean to ignore what is already inside the box, because that is meaningful too.

Robert is, in fact, 100% correct in his assessment. Whereas the oh-so-liberal local press never mentioned the elimination of competition, they did SPECIFICALLY mention the fact that many of the dealerships to be closed were in fact performing well in sales but were not placed far enough away from other dealerships.

The thinking person can connect the dots, so to speak, and see that this is being done to eliminate competition between same-brand dealerships thereby maximizing profitability from those customers who have decided on purchasing a specific vehicle from a specific brand.

Thanks for contributing to the discussion.

Sorry a*s*s GM...
...deserves to be out of business.

My aging Chevrolet has been soaking me for a lot of cash lately so I decided to investigate new cars. In the last 15 years, the two best new car purchases I made were a SAAB 9000 (got 249K out of it) and a Volkswagen GLI (not the same as the crappy mex-Jetta -- really an Audi under a Jetta body).

Anywho. I'm a car guy from way back. There is nothing in the GM line I would buy. Nothing. They make crap cars, sell them for insane prices, and do NOT stand by their crappy products.

Ask your local dealership how many Impala owners they soaked for their flawed, but never recalled Passlock security system. Google it yourself -- "Tahoe Passlock problems", "Impala Passlock problems" and so on.

They make you buy cars are dealerships, which are still using dishonest, throwback tactics to soak people. They make the product intentionally hard to comparison shop.

Why should we bail out such a rotten business?

An Option
Since the Goober-mint now owns GM, and by proxy Chrysler, simply don't buy those products. Ford still appears to be somewhat independent. Just saying no one is forcing anyone to buy GM, or Chrysler products. At least not yet?!!

Nice column
Good job. Time to start dialing. Obama will destroy newspapers, as the papers in any decent siezed city are CRAMMED full of dealership ads.
Bye bye newspapers.
Thank Obama when your newspaper closes after the dealerships do.

PS
I heard the idiot in chief is forcing the Pontiac division closed.
Well, he made an enemy more an enemy, again.
Best engines, the Pontiac - always ran a long, long time.
Of course the idiot is closing it. That's how you destroy.

What If?
Wouldn't it be funny if one of the car companies produced a super efficient engine with a gas mileage that increased with the size of the vehicle, so that it made sense for all cars to be Hummers?

That would expose the phony concern the communists put on for the planet. It would drive them insane. Then what would their objection to big cars be? What arguments would they submit then to try and force us into cramped, unsafe clown cars?

Then even most of the brain dead, mouth-breathing, apathetic Americans would be confronted with the truth about all this climate change fraud: That they only want to conrol us.

So how do you like Obama's change?
There was a time when Big Business cheated the worker, making big profits and paying little. Then over a period of time the workers began to equal it out by unionizing. Then the workers became greedy and ordered more pay and less work. Instead of both business and worker compromising, they began the battle for existance and so today we are seeing the result of both losing the battle and the country suffering from the American dream.
We all should be aware of what happens when the government takes over. First of all let's look at the transportation rail system ie. AMTRACK. Operating always in the red, run by government, U.S. Post Office now asking for an increase in postal rates because people are not using the mail as much as they once did. (First time I ever heard of a product not being used as much that you must increase the price)
With the government now in control of the major American car industry, do you honestly think it will operate efficiently? I seriously doubt it.
And last but not least, What part of our Constitution gives the Executive Branch the power to let Government invade private business?
Obama (though I dislike him) is doing what many presidents have done following Abraham Lincoln. They have usurped power not due them. And until a Congress gets enough guts to face him with it, there will continue this type of dictatorship.

Sell your GM, Chrysler (and Ford)
True conservatives (and true patriots) need to put their money where their mouths are and sell their GM's, Chryslers and (I must include) Fords. GM and Chrysler because they now work for the federal gumminit and the Great Oz and are part of his anti-Constitutional Socialist/Fascist agenda. Ford because they support the UAW which definitely support the Great Oz and his agenda and are the ones responsible for gettting the big three into this mess. I must admit that I am hesitant to include Ford because they refused the bailout money, but until they dump the UAW I will not buy a Ford. In any case let's put the federal gumminit out of the auto business and not buy GM's or Chryslers. Along the same lines we must quit supporting terrorist states and demand that we DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW. We don't want oil from them, let's drill our own.

Hamilton, Madisona and Jay
explain how the Constitution gives the federal Government the power to take over private businesses.

Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, John Jay in the Federalist Papers stated, "The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects, which in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement and prosperity of the State."

Good News
TRESSPASSERS WILLIAM
I agree with you when you talk about drill here;drill now. But do you know that the EPA and the Wacko enviromentalist are the hold up? While talking with my Senator Jim DeMint in S.C. he informed me that they were the hold up.
What most don't want you to know is that there is a well on Gull Island Alaska that has been capped since it came in in 1974 and on the say so of an executive at Atlantic Richfield, it was the biggest oil find in North America and possibly the world at that time.
There is enough oil and natural gas just on the North Slope of Alaska to last America 200 years. Our wonderful government has with held this from it's citizens so as not to quit trading with the mideast. You see, my dear American we get a kick back on all the oil we buy from the Arabs and they use that to pay on the national debt.
Now you know the rest of the story.

Funny Gov't Motors Article

OBAMA'S NEW CAR
The new energy efficient small auto to be built by GM, Government Motors, shoud be called either "The Bama" or the "Hussein Mobile".

Answer to Open Question
There was a Buick dealer in my neighborhood that was told he would be losing his Buick franchise. The dealer in response to news reporters asked the same question. His operation costs GM nothing. They provide no money to run his operation. He obtains cars from GM, sells them, and pays GM for what is sold. He buys the parts from GM and sells them through the parts and service departments. As long as he is making a profit on the cars and parts he sells and the maintenance service he provides, what gain does GM get from closing him down? There is a Chevy dealer on the main drag, this Buick (and Chrysler/Jeep) dealer next door and a Pontiac dealer a block down the road. Can they all be sold at one place? Yes. Are any large enough to carry much inventory for all three brands? No. Is the service department large enough at any one of these to handle the demand for all three brands without requiring a much longer wait to get the work done? No. Are all three making money right now? Yes since they are still open. I can see GM closing dealers who are just barely getting by or whose volume is below some threashold. But I also don't want one dealer with three times the service volume that has to have your car for three days to do a 60,000 scheduled maintenance.

Constitutional authority
I am no Constitutional expert, but I think I have a pretty basic understanding of what is in it.
Running a private business is NOT authorized. Forcing companies to take bailout money is not authorized. Providing bailout money may or may not be authorized, but I think it is unwise. It puts our whole treasury at risk. Deciding who gets paid back if GM or Chrysler go belly-up is up to bankrupcy courts, not the Federal Government.
There was some controversy when the government guaranteed a loan the Chrysler needed back when Lee Iacocca was the Chairman. He developed a business plan that showed how they were going to recover and pay back the LOAN. The government did not interfere with operation of the company, but just confirmed that if Chrysler defaulted, the loaning institution would get their money back from Uncle Sam. Chrysler paid the load back early and thrived (until the Daimler Benz take over). What the Federal Government is doing now is just one step away from nationalizing the auto industry.

correction to Reply #27
I should have said that deciding who gets paid back is up to bankrupcy courts and "not the executive branch". Federal Courts are part of the Federal Government.

GM will grow stronger:
I do believe that GM will come out of this even stronger. Their model mix and mpg for vehicle is great and will get better. ALL companies are having a hard time now, globally! GM stocks will again be on the up swing, sales will increase and quality will improve even better than Honda. Service departments will be "up-graded" to make customers feel that the product is an investment in the future.

Van - MI @12:01
Van, you are an optimist. I hope you are right.
When GM shows a profit again, who will be the majority owners of GM, the UAW?

GM
The government should not be in the auto business! Obviously liberal democrats have a problem understanding this concept. I propose that we boycotte GM and Chrysler until the government divests of all its shares in these companies. A boycotte will force these companies into liquidation. This will make the President and his party look bad and will put the UAW out of business.

Van

"I do believe that GM will come out of this even stronger."

And you base your fantasy on...?

Think about it. There weren't enough people buying GM cars before the bailout to make it profitable - even when they decided what cars to build. With the government (and all the special interests attached to it) deciding what cars to build, you can be damned sure even fewer people will be buying cars from Government Motors.

Now with Obama dictating what cars to build and with the union on the board, you can honestly believe they'll be stronger?

By the way, GM will never build cars of even the same quality as Honda, never mind better.

Time to act
ACTION ALERT – CAP & TRADE

HR 2454 is almost a law. Congress is fast tracking Cap & Trade so we need to fast track our phone calls, faxes and emails. This bill is out of Committee and is being voted on Thursday, 5/21 and Friday 5/22. They want this done before Memorial Day weekend.

van, take off the rose glasses!
The One cannot run a lemonade stand, let alone GM! Perhaps you would like to buy some GM stock right about now? The One's intentions are to destroy capitalism and GM and the financial institutions are as good a place to start as any. He is not a valid POTUS, he is not a traitor as he would have to be a citizen to be a traitor. He is simply a domestic enemy of the USA.

GM...and our future
Obama and his administration are moving FAST...VERY FAST on so many initiatives that we have our minds spinning so FAST that we cannot keep score let alone make intelligent appraisals as to what is happening SO FAST to us! We better get a grip and soon! Our entire system has been put up for grabs by a self-styled ELITE using our economic recession as a cover. America hangs in the balance. AMERICA, WISE UP!

AMERICAN DIRVERS AND MINI CARS
I can't imagine driving from the East Coast to the West Coast in a Smart Car, much less from my city in Texas to El Paso which is over 1,000 miles.

This is another of Obama's desires to be like Europeans. When I lived in France in the 1960's, they had a mini car that got 60 miles to the gallon, had three wheels, carried two uncomfortably. Europe has always had a selection of mini cars, but Americans have never rushed to purchase them. We drive many more miles every day than the average European drives in a week, we live farther from our work place and our cities are farther apart. There are large farms and ranches in the USA, unlike in Europe, where big trucks and Vans will always be required.

In addition, when I go hunting I can't strap my 8 point buck on the fender of a mini car.

Jim

Jim, I hate to break this to you, but aside from writing letters and calling our congressional delegates, we're pretty much buggered.

You see, over half this country's electorate is made up of airhead Obamatrons (like Tammy, Hal, Wobbie, Mario and millions of others), welfare recipients, minorities, illegals, union members (coming soon to a business near you) and an ever growing population of those who think that the federal government exists to make everyone equal. They're called neoliberals.

Neoliberals HATE capitalism and they are reveling in Obama's systematic destruction of it. They are under the delusion that with capitalism gone and fascism in its place, they will get a more equal share of what little wealth remains to be confiscated. What sad little fools.

And now, with ACORN firmly attached to Obama and being funded by your tax dollars, I can assure you that every illegal who can read, every dead person, felon and every ficticious registrant will ensure that Obama resides in the White House for another four years of hope, change and his legendary honesty and transparancy.

Add to that the nationalization of major failing newspapers and the full court press the Obama administration has on freedom of speech, and you can be sure that the term limit on the POTUS will be gone by 2016. Believe me, with the MSM in Obama's pocket, you won't find out about it until it's far too late.

why the demise of the Big 3?
re:
"If you take the five top CEOs and their salaries, it would add up to approximately $200 million per year combined.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Personally, I think that American CEO's ARE overpaid, and it is embarrassing to screw up as some do and still get megabucks.

HOWEVER, it is NOT CEO pay that laid waste to the Big 3 auto companies... instead, union largess/greed has ruined them.

Last year Toyota and GM sold the same # of cars-- Toyota made billions while GM hemorrhaged billions. The difference? Labor at GM was twice as expensive-- $150,000 per year counting bennies for H.S. grads. Yet they line up for those jobs at Toyota here in America paying half as much.

I teach college econ-- you CANNOT make the numbers work with that kind of labor cost structure. We have effectively subsidized the Big 3 for years, and even Toyota's really cost more than they might/should because of the minimally-competitive oligopoly.

Now the guvment will use our tax $ to prop up union contracts which should be voided in B/R court... it is nothing but payback to the unions for the $ millions contributed to Crats and the ObaMessiah.

Bob
"...Neoliberals..."

You mean New Liberal. Ronald Reagan was a Neoliberal so pretty sure you didn't mean to use this term.

Akagi

No I meant it. Classic liberals are nothing like today's liberals. From Mirriam-Webster:

b: a theory in economics emphasizing individual freedom from restraint and usually based on free competition, the self-regulating market, and the gold standard c: a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties

Today's liberals (neoliberals) hate capitalism, are anti-individual/pro statist and live for the day when capitalist American becomes fascist America. Their core belief is that the individual exists only to serve the collective.

Bob
Neoliberal=classic liberal; New Liberal="liberal." Example of a neoliberal would be someone like Reagan.

Akagi

I;m not here to play semantic games. If you want to think that Reagan was a neoliberal, knock yourself out.

Bob
Not what I think...what he was. Look up the term neoliberalism.

As I Said Before-----
Before the 2008 Election I thought/Said the Dems were Inexperienced/Ill-Informed!! I was WRONG..THEY're INSANE!!

This is Mugabe's playbook!!!
Also Hugo Chavez' tactics.

Letter from a Dodge dealer
My name is George C. Joseph. I am the sole owner of Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu, a family owned and operated business in Melbourne, Florida. My family bought and paid for this automobile franchise 35 years ago in 1974. I am the second generation to manage this business.
We currently employ 50+ people and before the economic slowdown we employed over 70 local people. We are active in the community and the local chamber of commerce. We deal with several dozen local vendors on a day to day basis and many more during a month. All depend on our business for part of their livelihood. We are financially strong with great respect in the market place and community. We have strong local presence and stability.

I work every day the store is open, nine to ten hours a day. I know most of our customers and all our employees. Sunshine Dodge is my life.

On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009. Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as "new," nor will we be able to do any warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service. There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory.

Obama = Mugabe Part 2
Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler's insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.

HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN?

THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY

This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong.

This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families? This is a total economic disaster.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN IN A FREE MARKET ECONOMY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?

I beseech your help, and look forward to your reply. Thank you.

Sincerely,

George C. Joseph
