Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

"February 3, 2008." That's how I began my speech to the CIBO annual meeting last night in Charlotte. "11.5," I added. "Remember that date and that number."

I did my act for about 25 minutes and then came back to the date and the number. February 3 was the date of Superbowl XLII between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.

The Patriots came into the game 18-0 and were 11-and-a-half point favorites to beat the Giants who were a mediocre 10-6 in the regular season.

The Giants hadn't even won their division. The Dallas Cowboys at 13-3 had cruised to that honor.

The Pats had already beaten the Giants in New York with its golden-boy quarterback Tom Brady. The Giant's quarterback was the lesser of the two Manning brothers - Eli - not the darling of TV commercial producers, brother Peyton was the Giant's quarterback.

No one in the near solar system thought the Giants had a prayer, hence the bookies made them 11.5 point underdogs.

But, on February 3, they actually played the game and the Giants won 17-14 and Eli Manning was voted the game MVP.

I bring this up because the McCain/Palin team finds itself in much the same position as the Giants. McCain/Palin is behind Obama/Biden by somewhere between one percentage point (IBD/TIPP) and 13 percentage points (CBS/NY Times) in polls released on October 22.

No poll has McCain/Palin ahead.

Just like betting on the New York Giants last February, it would be foolhardy to bet on McCain to win a week from Tuesday. No chance. No how. No way.

So, naturally, the popular press has decided the race for President of the United States is over. It has already been won by Barak Obama. Ta-Dah!

Obama might win the election. If the constant, funereal drumbeat of the popular press declaring McCain's loss becomes an article of faith among Republican and conservative independent voters, then Obama will win the election.

That is the nature of a self-fulfilling prophesy.

The declaration that the race is over is more insidious because, as we discussed the other day, Republicans will become discouraged and stay home, in effect punishing down-ballot candidates who will lose because GOP voters stayed home.

In the closing days of the race, the McCain campaign has to get persuadable voters to rethink their position on the two candidates. I was quoted in Newsday the other day as saying,

"The question the McCain campaign needs to have people asking themselves as they walk into the voting booth is, 'In a perilous world, is this the time to give the keys to the car to the guy who just got his learner's permit?'"

Which was a pretty good off-the-cuff remark so I won't try to improve on it.

But that isn't the question the popular press wants voters asking themselves, because it is a loser for Obama. The press corps wants voters asking themselves whether the Republican National Committee spent too much on Gov. Sarah Palin's cloths.

Remember, this is the same press corps which constantly chides the McCain campaign for being mean and petty.

No matter what, the election will be held on November 4 and shortly thereafter we will know who won. But we don't know now.

Any more than we knew who was going to win that football game last February when the teams were still in the locker room.

Actually the keys to the car
should go to Obama....he's the more stable of the two candidates. McCain make a reckless choice for VP and has run a dismal campaign. Are these indicators of what his presidency would be like? If they are, Americans should be clamoring for Obama, post haste!

Jeffrey
You're right about one thing; Obama is the better politician. But if it comes to choosing between the best leader and the best baby-kisser, I hope America pulls its head out and picks the leader.

In your case, ignorance is not blissfull
Jeffrey, it's people like you we are really sorry for and afraid of. i wont't even trust Barack Obama with my burrokeet far less.........

Jeffrey MI
Explain why Obama should get the keys. Can you answer these three questions?

1. Name one major piece of legislation Obama has been responsible for as a US Senator.

2. Name one major accomplishment Obama has done for his country. (example: Kennedy served his country in WWII and was a decorated War Hero.)

3. Since becoming a US Senator, name one major issue of foreign policy Obama has been correct about. (I understand this is a very short window.)

Jeffrey
Obama is going to meet the enemies of our country without preconditions?

He met "Joe" without preconditions and got his butt handed to him.

What's the over / under in Vegas?
I've never won a bet in my life, so I'm putting everything I got on obambi.

P.S. Jeffrey you're an idiot.

Good question, if rephrased a tad
In a perilous world, is it right to hand the nuclear suitcase to a senile guy with a notoriously short fuse who sings "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran?"

You might at least learn to spell our next president's name right. It's BaraCk Obama.

Jeffrey, your libtard kool-aid...
overdose has obviously goofed up your brain.

Palin was NOT a reckless choice. It was in fact a brilliant choice. If you bothered to learn anything about your political opponents, you'd know that she energized the GOP base and got a lot of money in the door for McCain. She went on SNL and gave a good account of herself on the Dems' home field. Her public speaking has improved steadily. Many people love her. It's only the blind leftist idealogues like you who think she's worthless.

It was Obama who chose an idiot for a running mate. Wake up doofus- the fact of the matter is that Biden has brought Obama down while Palin has lifted McCain up.

McCain's run an abysmal campaign? Where were you last winter when all of our brilliant media pundits and political wonks wrote off McCain's presidential bid as dead and buried? (Probably napping on your mom's couch.)

McCain has been like Lazarus. Many Dems have recognized and admitted this. That's why they've gone all out to fill Barak's campaign coffers to overflowing. That's why they're out in droves pushing voter registration drives.

You're a stupid idiot. I hope you're a high school puke who's too young to vote, cuz the thought of you deciding anything more than which comic book hero jammies to have mom buy is scary.

Cart before Horse
As many as one million people are going to gather in Chicago for Obama's victory party ono Election Night.

This could be the largest number of people ever assembled to witness the live delivery of a concession speech.

Seriously, what kind of crowd control would be effective if he loses? I am glad that I neither live nor own property anywhere near that. If Obama loses, they'll see the flames in Canada.

Always a pleasure...
When legitimate arguments are refused in favor of "clever" bumper sticker witticisms with neither substance nor relationship with reality:

"...In a perilous world, is it right to hand the nuclear suitcase to a senile guy with a notoriously short fuse who sings 'Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran?' ..."

Nothing in McCain's history legitimizes this as a realistic fear. I don't think you even believe it yourself; this is simply a "pose" to win an argument.

Jeffrey, I wrote specifically for you
On Monday the 20th, on the thread following Amanda Carpenter's article, "Shelley" in FL asked, "Why should I vote for McCain? Can anyone tell me this WITHOUT mentioning Obama?"

You added, "Good luck with that. I've asked the same question. Not once has a McCain supporter been able to offer a sound reason for why I should vote for McCain."

This was, of course, an invitation to several of us here to fill in that gap for you. I wonder whether you ever came back for the answers.

In case you did not, below is a link back to that article. I invite your attention to my posts #190, 191, & 192.

The weapons of Satan
The Left declaring the election over is the same tactic that they have used with the "global warming" issue. They declared the debate over and that they won. Well it ain't over until the clock actually runs out or the event happens. They use it to get the other side to give up. I am not giving up. If you are right, you don't give in to the tactics of the ememy.
Satan has four weapons he uses against people; doubt, disobedience, compromise and fear. The left is using at least three of these against conservatives. They try to cast doubt about the ability of the Republican ticket to win. They try to cast fear into the people running the Republican campaign by screaming racism and slander, filing frivilous lawsuits against legitimate activities, and generally trying to scare the Republicans into quitting. They also suggest they will compromise to work with conservative, but then it is the conservatives who end up compromising to keep from looking like ogres to the whiny, crybaby tactics of the left.
Please people, you have got to go vote for the conservative IN EVERY RACE. Control of Congress is at stake. Governorships are at stake. If you elect state judges, the state Constitution is at stake. The Marxist/Socialists are taking over and you are letting them. Vote against more government.

Factor the polls don't show . . .
Some points to remember about these polls:

> No pollsters are making long-distance phone polls to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

> Pollsters have no idea what how the third party candidates will sway this election. The left has two: Cynthia McKinney & Ralph Nader. The right has two: Bob Barr & Chuck Baldwin. What we do know for sure is that there are a lot of folks on the left and the right who are unhappy about the Obama/McCain choice.

> The secret ballot factor: A pollster knows your name, telephone # and address and is asking you how you would vote. But how are people going to vote when they know no one is watching?

Obama has won - face it!
The fact that the polls show Obama is ahead means that He had better be declared the winner on November 5th - or else. Should McCain be named the winner, it will be a clear indication that some skullduggery took place since everyone knows that Obama will win the election.

Obama is ahead by as much as 2 or 3 points in every poll, and that is indicative of a major landslide. No politician has ever come back from such a staggering polling deficit, so it is pointless to waste everyone's time by holding an actual election. And after holding a lead all the way up to the election, a loss for Obama will be unacceptable for many, and the dissapointment will only bring on massive riots and widespread violence.

Therefore, we need to just go ahead and declare Obama the winner because the polls indicate that there is no reason for him to lose, and such a declaration will spare us from the retribution that will be unleashed by those who will not like results that are unfavorable to Obama.

"Bomb, bomb Iran" vs Obambi
I no more took McCain's singing seriously than I did when Ronald Reagan did an off-air mic check with the announcement that he had just begun bombing the USSR.

Obama is weak. Our enemies see that too. Even Joe Biden knows this, and offered it up freely last weekend -- not once, but twice -- as evidence of his own foresight and wisdom. We really can't afford to be taking that chance now. It's bad enough that his economic policies would drive us into a depression (a sizeable chunk of the downward move in the Dow right now is in anticipation of an Obama win), but that his own running mate acknowledges that he will make the wrong moves in response to a foreign threat too??

For my part, I don't want to invite our country's enemies to take a shot at us with a weak politician in our highest office.

Country First: McCain/Palin.

Loyal Democrat, you ba***rd
One million rioters can't be wrong.

You're right: unless we want to see our cities go up in flames on November 5, we had better just go ahead and name Obama president by acclamation.

I simply don't have enough ammunition to defend my neighborhood if Obama ends up being said to have lost.

So, if you fear for your personal safety and don't want to see your house burned down, you had better go out there and vote Obama.

Or at least say you did.

McCain doesn't need WI
A smart campaign move isn't the same as conceding the election. Why spend money in a state that isn't moving in the polls? McCain has a very good chance to win. I'm counting on it.

Give Me Liberty, or Give Me Death.
I'd rather die than be intimidated. I've already voted, so dead or alive it's going to count.

Wisconsin
I've seen a number of different scenarios postulated for a McCain win, and not one of them has included Wisconsin. Or Minnesota. Or Michigan.

Now, back to work.

Galen writes "the McCain campaign
has to get persuadable voters to rethink their position on the two candidates."

I'm persuadable. All McCain has to do is apologize for his campaign finance mistake, and promise to do what he can to get it repealed.

If he does that I'll vote for him instead of Baldwin.

dude dude dude no way dude dude dude
If McCain can catch a football with the side of his head, I'll give him a chance.

Hmm, I wonder if the youth vote won't bother to vote if they think it's over. LOL. youth vote. k, this tiem were serius. rly. lol. vote or dei! wuh? srsly. o_O

Judgment
BHO wants us to believe he has good judgment and that should trump his inexperience. Is choosing Joe Biden as a running mate a mark of good judgment?

Obamaslide
The Obama camp is engaging in massive PSYOP voter suppression. They want all of us to feel that our vote is useless and that we must submit.

A clean victory will be inadequate for these folks. They have to have a rigged one that is so large their fantasies about their own capabilities will be nurtured------until reality sets in.

Our votes will make them listen to our horselaugh.

Nancy Pelosi's Shopping Spree!
When she became house speaker Nancy bought a whole new wardrobe including those now famous Chanel scarves she wore to Syria no one said a word, nothing, nada, zip.
But Sarah Palin gets to wear $150,000.00 of donated designer duds that she doesn't even get to keep and every far left kool aid drinking reporter from here to Nome is having a problem with this.
Ask Nancy what those Chanel scarves alone cost? I guarantee you they're way, way more than what had been donated to Mrs. Palin.

Polls Acorn and cheats oh my!
This group of socialist college students (whom Barack has nothing to do with past or present) continues to attempt to make our election process a fraud! We should have seen this coming with Hillary in Iowa!
Our men and women in our military have the most difficult time voting yet these punks can go get a students to sign up illegally numerous times! What is happening to our country? We owe our right to vote to all our veterans and if anyone should have an easy time voting it is these courageous men and women who love our country!
Explain that to me please!
Our polls are a joke! Here in Colorado I heard today that some pollster talked with an individual for an hour! What were they talking about Sarah's clothing budget?
I am hearing how they call the same individuals and how the polls are stacked with more democrats being called!
It's time we stand up to these elites!
Cancel your papers, I did!
Vote McCain and Palin!
I am looking forward to November 5th when we all find out that John McCain is our new President!
I will be thanking the numerous Hillary supporters out here who pledged support for Sarah and John!

Blame Bush Neo-Cons and Fox NEws
Listen all you Goobers and Gomers,

Fox News Network and other commentators defended the Bush Neo-Con Agenda. Got that idea. Ok

Next they defended Bush while he betrayed the main conservative principles. Got that Bubba.
And they got rich.

Trillions of dollars of national debt, the largest federal government, 10 billions lost monthly in Iraq not counting the cost to our troops and emotional and economic strain on their families who face foreclosure, bankruptcy, breakups, and divorce due to lack of real services for them when they got home. That is a crime. We should have been in Afghanistan getting the author of 9/11. DUH!!! Katrina debacle demonstrated the incompetence of Republican cronies in high places. Bush called back oversight in the EPA, FDA, SEC, and other departments. Bush allowed research to be tampered with to support the neo-con ideology. Bush is the worst president in modern history. His legacy left a crater so large for McCain that he will lose. All you folks who defended Bush and in the spirit of true conservatism, didn't take him to task, are all to blame. So next time you listen to a fake journalist like O'Reilly and Hannity, who spew half truths and lies, remember that it doesn't matter to them who wins. They still are getting rich on Rupert Murdoch checks. Don't cry about the MSM when these Neo-Con commentators helped throw the GOP party under the train by not putting the Neo-cons in their place.

You can help McCain win!
Dear Rich and readers,

You can help McCain win by spreading this message:

Talk show hosts can explain how the Democrats are responsible for our economic crisis, but you need video or audio evidence to really convert doubters by showing clips of Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Chris Dodd and a host of other Democrats defending Freddie Mac, Fanny Mae and Raines.
“A picture is worth a thousand words”
See the videos that expose how the Democrats caused the economic Crisis. See and hear them defend Fannie MAE,
Freddie Mac and Raines. See a Clip of Bill Clinton blaming the Democrats.
http://www.teleprompterpresident.com/2008/09/shocking-video .html
Or google “teleprompter unearthed Democrats in their own words covering up Fannie Mae”.

This wonderful video clearly explains how it all happened at:
http://www.teleprompterpresident.com/2008/10/fnc-fbn-inves- 6.html
or google the phrase "Teleprompter saving our economy”.

Every American should know who caused our financial collapse which resulted in our 401Ks and our home values to sink in value. We have been betrayed, not by the greed of the banks, but by our congressmen who caused this to happen.

Have your listeners send emails with the videos to their friends. Can you spread the word to other talk show hosts?

AL
Well put Al. The mess the Bush administration has left this country in porky pig could have won this presidential race. But I suspect the country will turn on Obama as well. You are not going to turn around this economy and get us back on our feet in four years. If Americans can't have their cake and eat it to they get really grumpy.

The election is NOT over......
VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!

Conservatives (Republicans), there are many issues to consider:

Strong defense (safe last 7 years)

Low taxes for job creation

US sovereignty, not UN servitude

Energy.......offshore drilling....w/in 50 mi. as a bridge to nuclear energy, wind, solar, tide, geothermal, natural gas, etc.

Smaller government

Capitalism, not Socialism

Strict-constructionist

The only "CHAINS to believe in" are the CHAINS of each American citizen to the federal govt.

What does Obama know about foreign policy?
What does Obama know about foreign countries?
What does Obama know about the military?

Why would Obama apply for a job for which he has no credentials and a nearly blank resume?

Better vote McCain!

Vote McCain and Palin in 2008!
