Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Bill O’Reilly has a message every American must understand: Our country is under attack -- from within.

O’Reilly’s new book, “Culture Warrior,” boldly describes two disparate worldviews that are competing for the very soul of our nation. On one side are the “traditionalists,” those who know that America is a noble enterprise, a beacon of hope and light for the world, and who understand that our belief in God and our commitment to good has made us the greatest nation on Earth. On the other side are the secular-progressives (S-Ps), who see America as imperialistic and intrinsically evil -- and who want nothing more than to sanitize our classrooms and our public squares from the alleged poison of faith.

In an exclusive phone interview, Bill told me that the culture war in which we’re all immersed is “not a political war, but is, at its heart, a social war.” He’s right. And I believe that the battle is also a spiritual one. It transcends politics. It’s bigger than Republican vs. Democrat or conservative vs. liberal, and the stakes are significantly higher than the next election.

Please don’t mistake O’Reilly’s book as just another best-seller from a political pundit (although it is the number-one seller on many lists, and the author is a media powerhouse). “Culture Warrior” is one of those rare books with the ability to inspire the reader to embark on a life-changing mission. O’Reilly affirms the instincts and values of decent Americans, reminding us of the greatness of our country and how it is worth fighting for both at home and abroad.

We live in a defining era -- a brief period in which America’s future is at risk. Will we remain the land of the free and the home of the brave? Or will we allow the secular humanists to hog-tie our rights, and use the schools to drown our kids in their dogma, while we simultaneously succumb to the siren song of malevolence (the anthem of today’s media culture) and become just another hopeless, Godless country in the mold of Western European nations like France?

In my own book, “Home Invasion: Protecting Your Family in a Culture That’s Gone Stark Raving Mad,” I provide evidence of the cultural battle and the harm it’s doing (particularly to our children). I go on to explain how we parents can protect our own homes. But in O’Reilly’s book, he tells Americans how we can protect our country. Of course, the first step is: Know your enemy. Bill names names, and he’s ready to take the heat for exposing the enemies of freedom and decency.

Some of the names, such as the American Civil Liberties Union, will be familiar to you. But even if you’re aware of the ACLU’s agenda -- which boils down to expelling spirituality from the public square -- you’ll find eye-opening details in “Culture Warrior” about this loathsome group that fights, among other things, any mention of “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance, then defends the “rights” of groups such as the North American Man-Boy Love Association.

O’Reilly exposes how the ACLU’s founder, Roger Baldwin, flatly admitted that “communism is the goal” and added: “I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion.” Of course, the ACLU began concealing their agenda right away, but as O’Reilly proves, nothing has really changed:

“Eighty-nine years later, the ACLU is still using Baldwin’s strategy, wrapping itself in the flag and defending the rights of the ‘folks.’ Unless, of course, the folks are Christians, Boy Scouts, parents who want to know if their underage daughters are having abortions, or concerned Americans who want sexual predators who hurt children held accountable.”

O’Reilly also pulls the curtain back on who funds the S-P movement, such as far-left multi-millionaire George Soros, who has showered hundreds of millions of dollars on American left-wing causes. Soros’ animosity toward traditional America seems endless, and he puts his money where his mouth is, making him “the prime financier of a number of operations on the Internet that consistently smear conservative and traditional Americans.”

A major example of the S-P’s anti-tradition agenda in action is the war over Christmas in the public square. (And if, like some well-meaning folks, you think this isn’t an important battle in the culture war, O’Reilly has some facts that will make you think twice.) What’s the big deal about whether it’s a school “winter concert” or a “Christmas” concert? Why should we care what the holiday is called? O’Reilly brilliantly explains:

“For the S-P agenda to succeed, religion in America must be deemphasized, just as it already has been in Western Europe and Canada, where secular-progressives have made huge gains. … [T]he American S-P generals have learned that goal number one is to secularize the American public school system in order to drive children away from religion and into the S-P camp. And what is the most wondrous display of religion worldwide? Why, Christmas, of course. Little kids seeing a manger display just might develop a curiosity about this baby Jesus person. … There is no danger of that happening with winter solstice or with a holiday tree.”

Other dangers lurk for ordinary Americans when the S-P agenda worms its way into everyday life. As O’Reilly shows, we have judges who buy into a legislative crock known as “restorative justice.” To them, no one -- even the most criminally depraved -- is really responsible for his actions. In one chilling case, ignored by the media until O’Reilly had the courage to expose it, Vermont Judge Edward Cashman had to sentence a man guilty of raping a girl repeatedly from the time she was six years old until she was 10. His sentence: a mere 60 days in jail. Why? Because Cashman buys the S-P line -- the man didn’t need “punishment,” he needed “treatment.” And many in the media elite actually defended Cashman and pummeled O’Reilly.

But that’s why America loves Bill. As he proves nightly on his number-one cable TV news show, he’s a tough but fair watchdog -- the kind of ever-vigilant eye on power that our founding fathers envisioned -- willing to take the hits to expose the lies. And we should be, too. As he told me, “You have to fight for your country. We can’t let the secular-progressives destroy us.” “Culture Warrior” will provide you with a rude but necessary awakening, arm you with facts, and inspire you to become a warrior, too.

Bill O'Reilly
Sometimes I can cheer for him, and sometimes I think he needs to be punched in the mouth. Repeatedly. As far as the 'culture war', I am often tempted to say "a pox on both your houses", and leave it at that. *sigh* Bill is alright, I guess. I haven't rushed out to buy any of his books, though.

Life is not like TV
This is nothing new. Life has always been a fight between those who keep to the straight and narrow and those who ridicule and jeer at them as they link arms along the broad highway that leads to the grave. We were told about this from the beginning, and urged to deal with it as individuals who are responsible individually for our immortal souls and for those of the children to whom we serve as examples. You can't bludgeon people into religion -- no matter what the Muslim mau-mau believe, "a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still".

As far as the "culture war" goes, I think the Sixties Juggernaut is slowing and the ship is turning, but this has always taken time to happen as generally we have to wait until the generation that started it has pretty much died off. Meanwhile what we have to do is keep steering the ship off the rocks, individually, and teaching those for whom we are responsible that they have a choice and that speaking up is the way to go. Put manger scenes in your yard or your home or your churchyard or your front window; call it a Christmas Tree (it isn't a religious symbol, by the way) and do the same with your flag, and teach your children all the stuff that they used to learn in school. Buy "Game of the States" and "Go to the Head of the Class" and play them in the evenings instead of sitting passively in front of mindless videos. Don't let your kids spend their time closeted in their bedrooms with television and video games; bring back the idea that bedrooms are to sleep in, and go back to making the public spaces of your house attractive to the neighbour kids. Don't sit whining to yourself on message boards. Pick up your cross and join the straight and narrow parade. This parade goes one by one. It always has.

My opinion of Mr. O'Reilly
grew exponentially when I heard his interview with David Letterman wherein he stayed one step ahead of him and exposed Letterman's true leanings. Letterman could barely conceal his rage at O'Reilly for his defense of Christmas as he repeatedly sputtered, "Honest to Christ! Honest to Christ!" an invective specifically designed to insult and offend those, like O'Reilly, who refuse to take the SP's attacks, on all things good and sacred, lying down.

My only criticism of Mr. O'Reilly is when he directly opines on matters of the Faith, for it is in those times that I am amazed at his arrogance at substituting his own opinions for things of which he is so obviously ignorant.

But, as Jesus said, in a similar context,"Do not forbid him, for he who is not against you is for you."

My grade for O'Reilly is a B+....
...which translates into his being quite good, very good overall. Yes, he is a bit pompous and at times slightly overbearing, but if you remove those qualities, I think you diminish his commitment and passion. He won't be the same Bill O'Reilly, and the "No-Spin" zone will suffer accordingly. My major complaint about Bill is that at times he tries too hard to be "fair and balanced", regarding himself as a political "independent", even to the extent of according legitimacy to obviously asinine views espoused by some. But, I guess that's in the eye of the beholder. At any rate, he does often ask pointed questions, which is refreshing, given the drooling, sycophantic, almost slavish adoration Larry King and others heap upon their guests. Do I hear an "Amen"?

WE TREAT SYMPTOMS RATHER THAN THE DISEAS
James Dobson & Gary Bauer state in their book, Children at Risk: “A great Civil War of Values rages today…Two sides with vastly differing and incompatible worldviews are locked in a bitter conflict that permeates every level of society…the struggle now is for the hearts and minds…the war is not fought with bombs and bullets, but with ideas.”

The struggle is for the hearts and minds of our children. The enemy’s weapon are the public (government) schools which have indoctrinated generations of children to believe in evolution, relativism, post-modernism, feminism, multiculturalism, socialism, mindless tolerance, sexual promiscuity, phony self-esteem, and indoctrinate children into accepting homosexuality as a normal alternate lifestyle. Schools have also lowered academic standards; teach that God is irrelevant, and that the philosophy of secular humanism holds the best hope for mankind.

Secular education’s goal is to sever our nation from its Christian moorings, and to instill a secular worldview in children so that when they become adults serving in the courts, the government, the news media, the entertainment industry, and even in our churches a secular worldview will prevail. Our children are our most precious possession.

There are 50 million school age children. Studies show that by the time a child reaches the age of 13 he has developed the worldview and the relationship he will have with Christ throughout his life! We should concentrate on saving as many children as possible before their hearts are hardened to the gospel. Christians need to provide a Christian education for their children either by home schooling them or placing them in a thoroughly Christian school.

For nearly a century Christians have been losing the cultural war. The reason is that we’ve been treating symptoms rather than the disease causing the problems - the secular schools. George Barna’s studies show that only 7% of Christian adults have a Christian worldview. Unfortunately most Christians are unaware of the toxic effects schools are having upon children, and spend time, energy, and money in the hopeless task of seeking to improve them.

To Bibsy Quee:

Well said. My thoughts including the quote.

Bill is right on the money.
Two years ago (prior to the election,) I said the US was fighting two wars - the "war on Terror" (or the War on Terrorists,") and a Cold Civil War within our country. You can call it a "Culture War" or Cold Civil War, but they're the same thing.

The ACLU, the Howard Dean Democrats, and the George Soros nut jobs are the leaders of the Secular Progressives (SP) who are directing the Left's fight. The SPs are just as, if not more, dangerous to our way of life than the terrorists, because many people in the US are not paying enough attention to the damage they're inflicting. The SPs want to apease those who want to kill us. We are not learning from history, but following in its most destructive foot steps.

Just look at Western Europe and Canada - the SPs are trying to steer this country to their way of life - Socialism. And do they have a better way of life than us... high unemployment, high taxes, a huge and growing immigrant problem and nothing to look forward to, just plain hopelesssness? When everything is provided by the government - there's no incentive to do anything but sit on your a*s.

Consequently, a large portion of their populations aren't willing to fight for their way of life. Now you see the immigrants (in particular the Muslim community who are willing to fight for their cause) rising up and trying to take over through the use of terror.

Sounds familiar doesn't it? Unfortunately, we have this SP virus permeating into our educational system. And the moderates and the right are giving in to the SPs for fear of the PC police.

We're losing the fight because we're afraid to fight. Usma bin Laden was right when he said; "Americans don't have the stomach to fight." How can we when we won't even fight (in a war of ideas and ideals) the Secular Progressives in our own country?

O'Reilly's 'War'
Sorry, but the world isn't really as black and white as O'Reilly would have you believe. I'm a secular conservative (yes, there are some of us around). I have no problem with manger scenes at Christmas, but I don't oppose abortion either (it should be up to the states). I'm against the war in Iraq, but thought we were right going into Afghanistan.
O'Reilly's 'us or them' mentality may sell books, but it doesn't reflect real life.

Bill O'Reilly
I can't stand it when I agree with Bill, which is most of the time. I have a hard time separating the message from the messenger, I guess.

Culture warrior
Rebecca Hagelin quoted O'Reilly in one paragraph of his book, Culture Warrior, as saying, "holiday tree" instead of Christmas tree, to wit:

“For the S-P agenda to succeed, religion in America must be deemphasized, just as it already has been in Western Europe and Canada, where secular-progressives have made huge gains. … [T]he American S-P generals have learned that goal number one is to secularize the American public school system in order to drive children away from religion and into the S-P camp. And what is the most wondrous display of religion worldwide? Why, Christmas, of course. Little kids seeing a manger display just might develop a curiosity about this baby Jesus person. … There is no danger of that happening with winter solstice or with a holiday tree.” WHY, O'Reilly?

Mister O'Reilly
Thank God for Bill O'Reilly. It gives me hope for our country when I see that his Television show is rated #1 and he continues to write #1 sellin books!

culture warrior
Even the name sounds great. Never mind that many terrorists could accurately use the same term to describe themselves. The one flaw is that my culture is not always in harmony with O’Reilly’s. Where does that leave me, out? How painful it is to see individuals like O’Reilly set on high as paragons of culture. He has many good points but when he swings his sword, he often slashes back and forth cutting both those in front and those behind. It is well that Rebecca Hagelin supports O’Reilly’s book. I’ve read most all of the Heritage foundation publications and realized that the heritage they proclaim is not mine.

Call Governor Romney
I make a plea to all Please call the father of Gay Marriage in Massachusetts. Please let him know that by indoctrinating our children into the gay agenda, he is prostituting our children for the sake of political funds, votes and power. Big Bussiness is fairing quite handsomely, robbing our children of their innocence. All this is done through the politicains, judges and courts, with our tax dollars that we have paid, so they can destroy our families and children. They are certainatly not representing the american people's interest. Just groups of special interest, which is who can gain the most power and money. Please call him at 617-725-4005 and let him know that this is unexceptable and cannot be tolerated.

Mr. Bill is okay by me
Yes, Bill O'Reilly can be pompous and a blowhard sometimes but when you peel away that thick layer of rightous opinionation that he is covered with----he does make a lot of sense on most issues. Unlike someone such as Sean Hannity (Mr. Spinmaster), Bill will listen to the other side and try to have a somewhat decent discussion on his show. In my opinion he is a moderate with conservative leanings.

Bill is not the first
Bill is not the first to bring these issues to us. Lets give credit to Michael Savage and Laura Ingerham. These issues were covered in thier books "The Enemy Within" and "Shut-up and sing", Respectily.

Kathy
continues to flap her gums about Gov. Mitt Romney's so-called support of the Gay Marriage Law in the state Of Mass. The fact is the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts voted 4-3 in May of 2004 to approve such a law. Romney has opposed it then and has continued to supports the writing of a new law by the state legislature which overrides the current law. The new law will be voted on in November 2006.

Vigilance
Bill is entirely correct.

I Might add In the Canada's they are also going threw a social revolution of the same species . Brought on by the same fools in socialist drag. Fortunately they have a moments grace with a Conservative PM who understands the assault.

The ACLU being a major factor there as well. As many of these "Progressive organizations" have by osmosis poisoned this Polity, as a test case I believe. They perverted that Nation, with there Utopian monstrous ideology of statism coupled with Gay activism. Now they will infect American schools, day cares, homes, police, courts. Than they will bring in legislation canceling freedom of speech except theirs. We see this already on campus's threw out the US. Where conservative speakers are shouted down or disrupted. Than they are reviled by these radical democratic fascists.

Just watch. They will do the same to America as they did Most of the Canada's. If not more Bill's are there to point out there nefarious plotting. It is also an East West Divide.

Europe is almost dead, from there Political piggery married with moral relativism. With social inversion as there future. Multiculturalism as the Trojan horse. Political correctness as the rock that keeps down any free discussion . Than there are the hate laws based on gender, sexual preference, race, or criminal record (In Socialist eyes being a killer is akin to martyrdom). It seems while killing innocents or allowing murder is considered merciful. They like the “Religion of Peace” are a death cult. It why there in league. Both totalitarian with a dogmatic form of absolutism, joined in an illusion of Utopian insanity.

The result of course is rampant immorality, foggy thinking on any moral issue. The end of ethics. The prosecution of persecution based on ideals different than the Norm deemed by these Elitists . With a debasement of human life as a result.

If America falls. So does the free world. That may sound like a cliché & it is. But a truer one cannot be expressed. America like it or not is the world totem of liberty.

Kick the lying bums out. Keep the truth tellers & demand elections become about issues, not personalities. An honest group, not a bunch of entitlement junkies. With the mirage of there own infallibility, coupled with fantasies of Utopia spinning in there debased minds.

I mean how do people whom live in the 98 & 99 percentile of the richest Americans or Canadians. Understand how ordinary folks meet there bills, when there off spending tax monies on achieving yet more control , if not the fulfillment of there own obsessions. We need decent, honest, governance not self styled demagogues & dogmatists.

This Country almost fell apart because of these political morons of expediency , with larceny in there souls. It may still do so as the West is growing ever farther from the East socially & culturally. How there own greed & lack of morality has played out in the REAL world.

I wonder how much Of America feels more & more isolated, from any control politically of there lives? I think the low voting turnouts supply that answer.

If I sound angry, I am. These selfish power freaks, riding a self righteous high , will be the death of us all.

The faster we all have term limits the better, to be rid of these professional hucksters. There loony ideas & hands grabbing at our wallets, for yet more pork to friends & family. Is detestable.

Making moral dunces of our children, allowing a hug a thug policies, catering to mindless political lobbies for monies, falling for ever fad on the wind & a contempt for the Constitution. To say nothing of there greed & ambition has turned a noble house, into a rotted tomb.

Time for a grassroots revolt against these lotus eaters. Foley is just another example of the ethical collapse . They all knew his proclivities. On that I would bet a fortune. They where worried about there own hidden . The rot is eroding the Nation from the top down.

Just my Opinion.

Falafel and loofah anyone?
Culture warrior? Well, he was armed with a falafel and a loofah when he aatacked that intern working at Fox who is young enough to be his daughter.

Is any thing more predictable
. An article about an issue.
. Issue is self evident.
. Libs attack the messenger because they cannot attack the message.

Lets see:
. Gregdn - Not black & White (Hey a real argument! - Good on you Greg)
. Kimberly - he is an egotist, he paid of a woman, his fan base is dying out, hopefully his show will.
. linkenjulie - Well, he was armed with a falafel and a loofah when he aatacked that intern working at Fox who is young enough to be his daughter.

Yawn

consider our manner of public discourse
A good example of negative public discourse happened when the Republican Club at Columbia invited the minutemen to give a talk. The leftist students shouted tham down with threats and obcenties and rushed the stage knocking down the podium causing concern for physical well being. This is what no standards, no morality, no values has brought us. Does this obscentity of behavior reveal that the left is berift of real ideas and fear real dialogue?

Kimberly: Predictable
+Kimberly once again provides us with another bitchy missive.

O'Reilly's worldview is that you are either going to see his way, or you are the enemy. No bigger ego exists than within this man. His ego outweighs any other "enemy within".

+Actually, I think billionaire uber-socialists like George Soros, who covertly invested Millions $ into Democrat 527’s IOT change the course of a Presidential election & journalists like “Red” Dan Rather who generate fake “evidence” at the 11th hour because they have the temerity to think that their actions can change the course of a presidential election have “world class ego’s” vice Mr. O’Reilly. But since you would probably agree their leftist ends justified their means I’d probably have as much success trying to reason with a “brick wall.”

How can anyone consider tripe from a man who had to pay off a woman millions of dollars to make her shut up about unwanted phone sex from him? This, during a time that his own wife was home pregnant?

+I don’t know the specifics, but in typical neo-marxist fashion, if you can’t cogently invalidate the argument, just invalidate the source of the argument. C.S. Lewis called it "Bulverism." How about a new definition of “SEXISM”: i.e., inserting sexuality/private affairs into an unrelated discussion IOT win an argument/disagreement.

Does "America love Bill"? Please tell me we're not that stupid. A gradual drop in ratings proves otherwise. Either his fan base is dying out (they are purportedly in the elderly range) or America is wising up. Either way, hopefully this folly that is "the factor" will die out in due time. Lord knows we need clearer heads to prevail.

+Last time I checked, Mr. O’Reilly had some of the best educated/affluent audience of any show on cable. Additionally, if you think Mr. O’Reilly is some Right-wing partisan you’re sadlly mistaken: there are some sacred cows that even O’Reilly won’t touch, e.g., the perpetual victim status of women (supports Jessica’s Law but won’t examine the fact that Women are responsible for 60plus% of all child abuse) & hyphenated-Americans (supports minority-specific “Hate speech” laws.) I don’t agree with everything O’Reilly bloviates about- but the essential direction of his current argument is correct.

I see why these left
wing loons hang out in conserative websites. The last time I visited Moveon.org I had to get a tetanus shot and have my office fumigated.

IT'S NOT JUST EITHER - OR!
There is a third point of view (at least, maybe more).

That is the libertarian point of view. It opposes both the big-government "liberal," and the big-government "conservative."

Actually the only difference between the pro-Bush "conservative" and the ACLU/MoveOn "liberal" is the *kind* of big government they are supporting.

The "conservative" wants to quiet dissent and use powerful government to regulate our lives and conquer small nations to introduce "democracy" whether they like it or not. The "conservative" is strangely quiet when the economy is tottering under high taxes and regulations imposed by the Bush administration and Republican (and Democrat) state administrations. These are the fault of many past administrations but I see no effort to relax them. And they pretend they are not in contempt of the Bill of Rights.

The "liberal" wants to increase government handouts and does not seem to understand these handouts have to come from somewhere, and that is the rest of us hard working people in the form of too-high taxes. The "liberal" is totally oblivious to the concept of keeping inflation in check, and cannot understand why we cannot simply print out the money and give it away. He seems to be oblivious to the fact that these policies discourage hard work. (60 days for a 4-year rape of a child??? Should be 60 *years.*)Many "liberals" in Congress voted for the war in Iraq and the Patriot Act, both obviously unconstitutional.

Lawmakers on both of these branches of the Big Government party vote for bills without reading them.

Both "conservatives" and "liberals" care nothing of our privacy, as evidenced recently by the passage of the Military Commissions Act of 2006.

I am proudly a Libertarian. I oppose both Bush and the left establishment with all my mind and all my might. Because both are wrong, and at odds with the great principles of our Founders.

See LP.org for more on that.

And, I most certainly will read _Culture Warrior_, because I'm curious if nothing else.

And see my own blog at http://www.alicelillieandher.blogspot.com .

Disturbing Examples
Rebecca points out well the liberal culture of corruption that has brought America to the immoral state that it is currently in. This is the same culture of corruption that made Foley and Studds and others think they were ok doing what they did. They push the perversion on the public with activist judges and then trash Republicans because Foley happened. He is a result of that liberal culture no matter what his political affiliation. Gay left in charge of boys unattended is not a good idea. Parents should have the right to decide that for themselves as they did when they stopped them from the Boy Scouts. Change the liberal culture standards and rid the courts of activist (sympathetic to criminals) judges and that will stop the destruction of American heritage of Christianity.

Superlative moral standards on the Right
Conservatives have almost no other topic but their own moral righteousness and the evils of everyone they dislike. The conservative confronts the world as a place filled with sinners for whom he has the cure. The conservative's moral judgment is harsh and unforgiving.

Now, given all this, I expect nothing but superlative moral standards in the lives of those on the ideological Right. No, you guys don't get free passes with your infidelities, your self-indulgence, or your bad manners, for that matter. You espouse a standard against which all us liberals must appear as Satan's (or at least the ACLU's) spawn.

That's fine. But I think I have every reason to expect you to live up to your standards far more than we loathesome liberals. After all, we are depraved, and you're not supposed to be.

So, yes, I will point out every sin committed by conservatives, and brush off your tu quoque [look it up]retaliatory replies. This is because someone should hold people with high standards to those high standards, and it might as well start with us liberals.

No one is perfect
But that's no reason to promote the ill behavior. Conservatives promote a higher moral standard knowing full well we'll all fall short but gives a goal to shoot for. When an organization named the North American Man Boy Love Association[sic] is protected your defeating morals from the get go. Hear it again. Man-Boy love[sic]. Thats why your loathesome. Arnold just vetoed 606 & 1056 as he should have. Let the parents decide if they want their children taught the vulgarities of gay life. Why let a child molester off, the child will suffer lifelong. And perpetuates the behavior when left unchecked. Why not aim high?

AudiR10 writes:
"As far as the "culture war" goes, I think the Sixties Juggernaut is slowing and the ship is turning, but this has always taken time to happen as generally we have to wait until the generation that started it has pretty much died off. "

You've go to be kidding. "They" may die, but the legal policies they have/do institute will impact us for decades an decades after even we are all gone. "Impact" as the continued destruction of America as we know it.

And watch what happens to the Supreme Court (and other courts) if/when the Dems regain control of Congress or the White House.

Gestell
It's amazing how smart you are. I mean, your vast clairvoyance permits you to examine the souls of all Republicans for the sin of self-righteousness. Unfortunately, your powers do not appear to extend inward.

I am willing to bet that there is a fifty to one ratio republican to democrat that believe that all people without exception are basically evil. That is not self-righteousness, as your infinite wisdom no doubt understands.

Sonny
With three dozen red states, the Democrats will never gain control of the Senate, and the judiciary will still be ours. As long as we have a president - Oh God please don't give us a liberal president!

O'Reilly Had a Sex Scandal
Yelch.

those in control
please, oh please, save us from the fanatics at both extremes of the political spectrum

O'reily sex scandal
that stupid thing was a non issue and no Kimberly O'reily did not pay that woman any hush money, from what i under stood she tried to sue him and he counter sued her, btw how can you have unwanted phone sex when you can always just hang up the dam phone.

ACLU doing the right thing.
NEConservative,

I'm no great fan of NAMBLA, but why deny them the right to speak, and not the American Nazi Party? Or the Communists? Or the Holocaust deniers? Or Ann Coulter? Or the anti-war left? Or Bill O'Rielly? Or everyone?

Frey
Obscenity and conspiracy might be reasons to limit their right speak.

The possible results of the Left winning
In the end,if the left wins contro we are likely to lose our resolve, It will end up as a Theocratic Islamic country. The left are incapable of defending our Country and Culture for they have no moral compass.

Prepare your children to convert or die

P.S. If we lose who will buy the oil? Without our market the rest of the world goes down with us.

The Left is Winning the Fight
The Conservatives have shot themselves in the foot....and it looks like the bullet removed their gonads on the way down.

The Dems keep weaving and punching and jabbing and leaving themselves open time after time to counterpunch. But the Republicans are wobbling around like a punch-drunk Baby Huey. I think they will fall for the count this November. They have lost their survival skills toadying to the "Compassionate" tag.

Maybe in '08, after 2 years of Democratic rule...just maybe they will come back with something stiffer than cardboard in their backbone. Maybe. Probably not. Too many folks in this country when offered a choice of voting for the good of the country or voting for temporary personal gain will opt for the personal gain. That's what keeps the Dems in office.

Prayer for America
If you really want to help our beloved country achieve its spiritual destiny, here's a prayer that speaks to the heart of the matter. I suggest reading it at every gathering of you and your friends:

O Thou kind Lord! This gathering is turning to Thee. These hearts are radiant with Thy love. These minds and spirits are exhilarated by the message of Thy glad-tidings. O God! Let this American democracy become glorious in spiritual degrees even as it has aspired to material degrees, and render this just government victorious. Confirm this revered nation to upraise the standard of the oneness of humanity, to promulgate the Most Great Peace, to become thereby most glorious and praiseworthy among all the nations of the world. O God! This American nation is worthy of Thy favors and is deserving of Thy mercy. Make it precious and near to Thee through Thy bounty and bestowal.

~ from the Baha'i Faith Prayers

EXCELLENT column!!
This really shows where the battle lines need to be drawn, and that TERRORISTS are not the only threat to our nation and society in general.

Is ACLU right?
jerubaal,

If NAMBLA is guilty of conspiracy (or child abuse), then they should be nailed to the wall. But who decides what's obscene?

reply to Jerubaal

Read any dozen or so posts on TH from conservatives and you'll find self-righteousness as a major attribute. You also seem to be unable to distinguish between human sinfulness, which, according to Christianity characterizes all of us, from the idea that people are "basically evil," which is not Christian teaching. The Pharisees criticized by Jesus were not "basically evil," they were sinful, in spite of their adherence to the goodness of the Law, even if that adherence is perfect.

You still don't really give me a good reason not to hold you guys to your own high standards. After all, we moral bottom-feeders on the left need to be judged by someone, and you are so eager to do so...

Says It All
RE: "... Cashman buys the S-P line -- the man didn’t need “punishment,” he needed “treatment.” And many in the media elite actually defended Cashman and pummeled O’Reilly." That says about all that needs to be said about our leftist buddies. Let all of us real Americans and real Christians vow that, from now on, we will ignore and disobey any court decision or legislation passed that infringes upon, or makes us do something, contrary to our beliefs. In short, since the Left wants a fight, let's give it one.
