Senate Immigration Bill is a Sellout, Not Reform

The immigration reform bill recently announced in the U.S. Senate should be titled the Act to Destroy the Republican Party because it pits President George W. Bush against the majority of the Republican Party that elected him. When Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., appeared as the centerpiece of the photo-op announcing it, that told the grass roots all they needed to know about the politics of the deal trumpeted as bipartisan.

The Bush administration has been tone deaf about how offensive some find the words "comprehensive" and "compromise." The American people want border security that they can see with their own eyes, and they are ready to defeat and disdain congressional representatives who vote for a package deal that contains amnesty and guest-worker proposals.

Despite denials, the bill is amnesty. It will give up to an estimated 12 million to 20 million illegal immigrants exactly what they want, namely, the legal right to remain in the United States by being immediately given a probationary visa. The bill increases legal migration by at least 50 percent over the next decade by granting green cards to all the remote relatives who are in the chain migration categories, a number estimated at 750,000 to 900,000 a year. That is triple the current number of 250,000. Giving green cards to millions of additional relatives ensures that legal immigration will continue to grow as this larger pool of permanent residents brings in spouses.

The bill will bring into the United States country at least 400,000 guest workers per year. That's twice the number in last year's unacceptable Senate bill.

The bill claims that bench marks must be met before amnesty/guest-worker provisions go into effect. But the bench marks fail to require that the U.S.-Mexico border be closed, fail to require that the border fence be completed as mandated by Congress in October and fail to require that the Department of Homeland Security implement the entry-exit visa system so Americans can know if visitors and guest workers actually leave. The bench marks also fail to require employee verification and fail to require that the Department of Homeland Security deports absconders, such as the 600,000 immigrants who have already been ordered deported.

The only thing the bill actually requires is that Department of Homeland Security speedily process amnesty applications and green cards for chain migration.

The border security part of the bill calls for a 370-mile-long fence on the U.S./Mexico border. That is only half as long as the 700-mile-long fence ordered by the Secure Fence Act passed overwhelmingly by Congress and ostentatiously signed by the president in front of TV cameras just before the November 2006 election.

The Senate bill authorizes 4,000 new Border Patrol agents, but doesn't require that they be trained or deployed. It's difficult to hire and keep Border Patrol agents because of the way some have been prosecuted and sentenced to long prison terms after intercepting professional drug smugglers bringing in vans of illegal drugs.

Another bench mark is that "tools" will be provided to prevent illegal immigrants from getting jobs, including requirements for identification standards and an employee verification system. But the bill lacks a requirement that anybody actually use the tools.

The costs of the Senate immigration bill are mind-boggling, and the Senate has made no attempt to estimate or figure out how to pay them. The Heritage Foundation's Robert Rector puts a potential price tag on this bill of $2.5 trillion, which is five times the cost of the Iraq war.

Rector gave the House Judiciary Committee detailed testimony setting forth how he arrived at this figure. At least 60 percent of illegal immigrants lack a high school diploma, which means they will work low-wage jobs, pay little or no income tax, and be heavy users of our schools and means-tested social benefits such as Medicaid, school lunches, Women, Infants and Children Program, subsidized housing, the Earned Income Tax Credit, and free legal counsel.

Fiscal costs would go up dramatically after amnesty recipients reach retirement. Each elderly low-skill immigrant imposes a net cost - that is benefits minus taxes - on U.S. taxpayers of about $17,000 per year, according to the Heritage Foundation. These costs would hit Social Security and Medicare at the very time Social Security is expected to go into crisis.

Section 413 calls on Congress to "accelerate the implementation" of the Security and Prosperity Partnership - announced by Bush in Waco, Texas, in 2005 - so that the United States can "improve the standard of living in Mexico." Do U.S. taxpayers want to take on the awesome economic burden of solving poverty problems in Mexico?

The Senate immigration bill states that the United States want to increase access to credit for "poor and under-served populations in Mexico," and expand efforts "to reduce the transaction costs of remittance flows" from the U.S. to Mexico now running at $23 billion a year.

The Senate bill also puts the United States into a "partnership" with Mexico for "increasing health care access for poor and under-served populations in Mexico," for "assisting Mexico in increasing its emergency and trauma health care facilities," and for "expanding prenatal care" in the border region. It looks like the Heritage Foundation and Rector's estimates are only the start of the costs that will put a truly incredible burden on American taxpayers.

Although I am generally not a conspiracy theorist, it is tempting to suspect these people to be in collusion to obfuscate the facts regarding public opinion on immigration.

These globalists have an agenda, and it doesn't matter how much people hate this immigration bill, the elites are determined to lie to us about what the majority wants and are determined to slap lipstick on this turkey and shove it down our maws.

Dear Mr. President and Senators
This "Comprehensive Sellout of the American Citizen" will have consequences you have not even considered, not that you care.

I have been an active civic minded citizen for 47 years. Flying my flag on Flag day, July Fourth, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, etc. Standing for the national anthem. Serving on juries when requested. Serving on community boards. Voting in every election.

Our Constitutional Republic rests on the premise of consent of the citizens. If you succeed in jamming this amnesty down the throats of the American citizens you will have broken the contract. I will henceforth consider myself just another permanent resident. All of my positive citizenship activities will stop. I will remove the U.S. flags from my home and vehicles. I will ignore whatever laws get in the way of my "having a better life", just like the illegal aliens. I will dodge jury duty. Shade on my taxes any time I can. No more Good Samaratin acts. I agree with the other posters. This bill is an act of treason. If illegals can do whatever they want in our country and not suffer consequences, why should any of us act lawfully.

Dear Mr President:

The problem with the illegal foreigners in my country will not be solved by this rush to legislate. The democratics did not solve anything in 1965 or 1986. There were rotted-out promises made to which some of us who have been around since before Eisenhower have almost become desensitized.

Can you name one issue the democratics have settled without substantial, undesirable, unintended consequences? In the September 10, 1997 issue of “The New York Times,” John Kenneth Galbraith declared with his usual air of superior finality that the democratics should not be held responsible for all the unintended consequences resulting from previous legislation passed by the democratics with good intentions. He declared the actions taken were simply in response to unavoidable social upheavals. His bigotry prevented him from linking legislation and subsequent social upheaval.

Have you ever noticed all those Mexican flags hoisted above upside down United States of America flags during those demonstrations in Los Angeles? That’s no emotional accident. If you don’t know what “irredentism” means, stop and look it up, now. It is no secret in Mexico there is an active movement to reclaim the American Southwest for Mexico. Before his death, James A Michener predicted the American Southwest would revert to Mexico during a current lifetime.

This problem deserves a thorough, public debate. Scheduling the congressional vote next year would cost little. And the border fence could be put in place, first, if you want it done at all. Also, if your employment contract is up for renewal, it will be a good time for interaction with your constituents.

What can we do?
Prepare to figtht or loose our country. Commit 20 minutes of every day to the destruction of this legislation. Contact everyone in politics at every level and let them know we are not going to stand for this and that if they don't stand with us they will not be left standing at all!
My god what has happened to us? Where are our men?
How can our "leaders" be so blind to the will of the people you ask? Because they think they are leaders rather than representatives and we let them get away with it. I have no ring in my nose with which to be led around . I expect representation in Washington from our elected congressmen and senators and sadly I am not getting it from Chambliss or Issacson. Too bad. For them and for us.

Why would President Bush start enforcing immigration laws after a new bill when he is not doing it now?

CNN-WASHINGTON (AP) — Immigration arrests under President Bush are “stagnant and unimpressive” despite massive increases in Border Patrol agents and other immigration enforcement measures imposed since 2000, a report found.
Bush promoted border enforcement successes this week while pushing Congress for a comprehensive immigration policy overhaul. But the centrist private group Third Way questioned his record in a study released Thursday. It found that arrests and deportations are down almost 30 percent since the Clinton years.

“The decline in immigration enforcement has been steady, dramatic and long-standing,” said Jim Kessler, the group’s vice president for policy and a co-author of the report. “This may not be the cause of our illegal immigration crisis, but it has certainly contributed to it.”

But the generational gains are slowing, and the increased participation of women in the work force is the only thing keeping the dream alive, according to an analysis of Census data released Friday.

A generation ago, American men in their thirties had median annual incomes of about $40,000 compared with men of the same age who now make about $35,000 a year, adjusted for inflation. That’s a 12.5 percent drop between 1974 and 2004, according to the report from the Pew Charitable Trusts’ Economic Mobility Project.

The Real Culprits
The current legislation for immigration does not meet the demand of the majority of the citizens in the state of Texas and the nation because no matter how you dress it up it rewards those that break the law of United States and puts an enormous burden on the taxpayers. The Heritage Foundation's reveals that for every dollar an immigrant earns three dollars are received via healthcare, welfare, social security, etc. This is not fair to the taxpayers of the United States just so business can have their pie and eat it too so I am opposed to it in its current form. Also, if conservatives think reaching across the isle to the likes of Ted Kennedy is accomplishing anything think again, that is only in your mind not ours. It is a fact that these immigrants whether legal or illegal are able to save more money than American citizens because it is American citizens that are providing these immigrants benefits which comes out of their paychecks every payday.

We as voters must fire every incumbent in office no matter how they voted to begin with a clean slate. Next, we must go after those that put the rings in the pigs (elected representatives) nose. It is Council on Foreign Relations leaders like David Rockefeller who said, “We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nation will accept the New World Order, which should tell you they keep coming up with crisis after crisis to wear “we the people down". This statement came from a now dead member, James Paul Warburg—Member, Council on Foreign Relations. Foreign agent of the Rothschild Dynasty. Major player in the Federal Reserve Act scam; we shall have world government whether or not you like it. The only question is whether World Government will be achieved by conquest or consent. I could go on and on with these conspiracy idiot quotes but you get the picture I think.

What the weak Republicans have done is given in to the far left and that is unacceptable. Here is a big reason why. When one looks at this from the standpoint of donations, the past 10 to 15 years research from Capital Research Center reveals that corporations like AETNA, Merrill Lynch, Georgia Pacific, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Daimler Chrysler, BP Amoco, Target Stores, foundations such as Rockefeller, Carnegie, Ford, and many other large corporations give nearly five times as much money to left-wing (liberal) groups and causes than to right-wing ones such faith based charities. The latest on figures of this kind, found they donated $38.7 million to left-of-center groups advocating bigger government, more regulation, and higher taxes, versus only $8.4 million to groups advocating free market solutions, lower taxes and conservative reform. The largest recipients of corporate public affairs grants, eight are liberal leftist. These include the Brookings Institution, The Nature Conservancy, the NAACP and the National Urban League. The two more conservative beneficiaries are the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is only center-right and the American Enterprise Institute. It is no wonder the Lord said in the end time lawlessness would abound and there would be wickedness in high places.

US sovereignty
Questions being now addressed by Congress are too important to be left to that body of "representatives" of THE PEOPLE. It is past the time in our history when THE PEOPLE, in a national plebiscite, should determine questions such as our nation's very sovereignty as expressed in our borders and the enforcement of our laws!
The DIRECT vote of THE PEOPLE and NOT that of their "representatives" have the only validity when decisions so greatly effecting the future of themselves, their children, and the very culture and fabric of THEIR country are at stake, as in this immigration debate.
It is time for national referendums to be demanded by the US public; the purest form of Democracy is DIRECT Democracy, and not the "representative" Democracy we now have. At the least we should demand a combination of the two forms by gaining a more direct voice, via the ballot, in decisions of great national importance. We are far from the days of the "pony express" and "snail" mail information. We yet observe elections well sixty days before the elected are sworn because we hold to guidelines set when it might take the elected some sixty days to get the Washington to be sworn, but the realities of our "instant" age is well beyond those constraints, and we should be adapting in all areas of being governed; we, THE PEOPLE, can decide for ourselves and our families today.
I believe it was Trent Lott who said the other day that national polls didn't matter in his vote, only HIS conscience. Well, he has forgotten that he is elected to REPRESENT more than his conscience; he is to represent those of the MAJORITY (I understand that the concept of majority rule is not PC anymore) his constituents. When Washington looses the understanding of its role in a "representative" form of Democracy, as it has, then we no longer have anything more than rule by a few over the many. We no longer have a government of, by, and for THE PEOPLE.
We need to stand up and DEMAND self-governance now and forever!

When I phoned Senator Webb's office (Virginia) to inquire as to his position on this ScAmnesty bill, I was assured that he was opposed to it. I already knew that Warner was a complete sell-out-of-America from the previous abomination.

And now I see that Webb voted to retain the 'Z-Visa' that would grant amnesty to the millions upon millions of illegal alien invaders.

Either his office doesn't know what Webb is doing or they are lying to assuage the fury of his constituents.

Whatever.

If this ScAmnesty bill goes through it is "Goodbye, America" and "hola, ameXica - welcome to the third world."

Tell Your Senator:
Tell your Senator what I told mine, that WE know how to vote also, fill their e-mail boxes, and more importantly their phone lines with messages that they will have their arses thrown out of the Senate. All this bill is Amnesty for the 12 to 30 million illegal aliens that sneak into our country, and DEMAND things that WE don't even get.
We already have laws on the book about securing the border, and going after the employer, well with this bill, the EMPLOYER IS EXCUSED, NOTHING HAPPENS TO THE SELLOUT BA$TARDS. Nothing happens except Legal US citizens wages in the blue collar sector go down every year. While the ba$tards in the congress vote themselves nice little wage increases. My Daughter's hometown of Sturgis, Mi. has now 1/3 Mexicans (this is per the Mayor) now, the largest employer moved to Mexico about 6 years ago, after moving to Mexico, the Mexicans moved to Sturgis, what's up with this.
Then the Mayor says that WE have to embrace the diversity, and accept this even if they are illegal. That the city, township, county and State of Michigan won't do anything about it, that it is a Federal problem.
All the while Michigan is 800 million in debt, and will be 1.6 billion next year, but we keep shelling out those $$ for those anchor babies through Medicaid, 1/2 from the in the freakin hole State tax payers. All the while they fill up my Grandchildrens school with illegal kids, at our expense I might add. All the while THEY break the rules of more than one family to a one family home. BUT we can't punish them even after we find more than 100 of them using the same SS#.
DOES our Government really think that we the legal tax paying citizen is going to WELCOME THESE LAW BREAKERS WITH OPEN ARMS?????
We are NOT accepting these law breakers in our communities, they are FORCED ON US.
Then we hear the Senators lament that the veggies will be rotting in the fields, well where in the he** are all those millions of illegals, they are doing the "JOBS LEGAL US CITIZENS WON'T DO.", YEP, doing my son's job of constuction, my son in laws job of working in the factories, but WE have to accept the lowering of our wages, and the increase of our taxes to pay for these law breakers.
I'm afraid if this passes, we will have created a hated bunch of people.

Opposition
Romney, Rudy and Thompson are apposing the bill. So is Richardson (Dem) and he is Hispanic.

On the polls CBS is pretty open about it's liberal bias. If you go to Pollster.com and compare most of thier polls with the rest of the polls they tend to be one of the most liberal. However, that would not shift the results that much.

I am pretty sure that when respondents get a call from CBS/NT CBS shows up on the caller ID. That alone will cause a liberal bias of about 5 %.

CBS is polling adults. That includes a random sample of illegal immigrants. They are also weighting to census data. Both of those methods create a liberal bias (they use different methods when they are close to an election and have to be accurate).

CBS/NT COULD EASILY OVERSTATE SUPPORT FOR IMMIGRATION BY 10-15 %.

RAS reports likely voters and weights to the characteristics of thousands of his previous respondents. That makes him very accurate. Since he sells his info to businesses he gets paid for accuracy.

As far as CBS trying to pursue their agenda, that is nothing new (DAN RATHER). I do not view it as conspiracy theory. It is simply the MSM doing what they have done for decades. At least there is Town Hall now to confront them.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO A RANDOM SAMPLE OF PEOPLE WHO ACCUALLY VOTED IN THE LAST ELECTION AND ASK IMMIGRATION QUESTIONS. That will favor Dems slightly as they had high turnout last election but it will be a lot more accurate than CBS/NT.

Calling Legislators
As an Arizona voter, I have called and emailed both McCain and Kyle (and my representative Trent also)...Kyle's Tucson and Phoenix office as much as told me that his mind is made up and no amount of input from his constituency would make any difference. It is all about votes...the immigrants will no doubt register as Democrats (and I don't need to explain that, do I?) And you can kiss the Republican party goodbye, including all those turncoats who voted for this treasonous legislation...they will be history, but so will the culture and wealth of our country be history. What is going to happen when there are not enough of "us" to financially support all of "them?"

What a helpless feeling it is to be abandoned by those who made election promises to us...quelle dommage!

Recall
Why don't the States that can start a recall drive against any Senator or Congressman that's for amnesty? I'm pretty sure that Arizona has that ability and both of their Senators are for amnesty.
For the Life of me I can't figure out why our elected officials are hell bent on destroying us.
Don't they realize that when the little guy is destroyed they will be to? The people they are letting remain here are loyal to Mexico and will do away with them as soon as Mexico takes over? Of course Jorge and his tequila drinking Buddies will be taken care of but that's all.
I think the only solution is to start a drive to impeach the treasonous Jorge immediately, he's the real problem with his call for comprehensive immigration reform. I cringe every time I hear him say you can't deport 12 million people, it can't be done. He's right it can't be done if you don't want to. I garrantee that we can be completely rid of illegals in two years if we wanted to, but our goverment doesn't want it and the illegals know it.

asking the right questions
Mountain Rose correctly notes that polls (especially PC polls) can have agendas such that the results are distorted. Pollsters typically ask questions with somebody's agenda in mind, or the methodology simply gets inadequate responses... consider, e.g., these follow-up questions:

If you favor some sort of path to citizenship for the 12-20 million currently in America ILLEGALLY, are you comfortable with the fact that most of them are undereducated and poor, such that they will be substantial net users of govt. services at a cost to taxpayers of about $20k PER year per ILLEGAL family unit (Heritage)? Are you comfortable with the fact that the new legislation would forgive the habitual nonpayment of taxes by ILLEGALS while YOU still get no tax amnesty? Are you aware that Z-visas will be given to known gang members if they simply disavow the gang?

Supporting ILLEGAL aliens will be the death knell for Republicans. There is so much disinformation being perpetrated by apologists for ILLEGALS that the disingenuous sophistry is getting piled higher and deeper! When ILLEGALS are allowed to vote, they will break at LEAST 9:1 for the left-- for big entitlement government. "Immigration" fallacy
A huge part of this scam is that these "immigrants" aren't really coming here because they love America and want to be American citizens.

The Hispanics are coming here illegally because they DON'T want to be Americans, but rather for the social benefits and relatively high-paying jobs.

Without doing the legal research, I think a petition to redress greivances is not the same as a recall.

Juliani and Thompson, F. have not been marked by fidelity to others. What makes you think they will follow through on any promises in the future. These men are 'follow the money' and 'go for the glory' persons. Romney was the son of the head of American Motors, who became Governor of Michigan. His personal fortune is guesstimated at six hundred million to one billion dollars. The other two came from lesser-income families, but have become very well-to-do and politically famous.
Rudy, at present, makes thousands upon thousands as a speaker and as a consultant on security matters. Thompson, F. is Senior Consultant for the Disney-owned ABC network. He is a real-life cartoon character, with a subpar Senatorial record, and a less than energetic approach to responsibilities.

My weakness is a need to know the truth. I can't sit back and take what the MSM media dishes up for 'campaign season'. Fred is a MSM creature and no more conservative than Eugene Debs was. Giuiliani is what he is, and I don't see him as being the answer to a voter's dream.

Mr. Hunter is more the plebian. He was an Airborne Ranger in Vietnam. He was elected to Congress in 1980 and has been re-elected ever since. He has served on the House Armed Services Committee for most of that time and was Chairman for four years. One of his two sons is serving his third tour as a Marine Captain in Iraq. Hunter and his wife have been married 33 years. I just have this dumb idea that perhaps the man cares more about America than about getting rich.

Recall of a US Senator is not a likely possibility, under present law. But I do believe that a debate on so-called Immigration Reform could be tabled until at least January 21, 2009, when all the lame ducks are done and a new, anti- Illegal Invasion Congress is elected. My Congressman, Chris Carney, Democrat is anti. Many a Democrat is. If the lordly Senators cannot hear us, I believe the House of The People can. This is the weekend when many of then will be speaking at veterans' events. As a veteran myself, I intend to be talking to Mr. Carney. I urge each of us to accost our district Congressman and voice our sentiment against the devaluation of Citizenship, the diminution of Law.

Sellout? Normal politics
Our bosses consider wheeling and dealing a normal politics, as usual. If anyone doesn't believe this is a conspiracy, below are my arguments:
1. The Immigration deal has been produced in a complete secrecy behind closed doors and all participants must have been sworn to secrecy since not a sound escaped the room. In your opinion, who works in such a secrecy, away from inquiring eyes? Spies, thieves, Mafia. Conspirators? Not US lawmakers!
2. The Congress made a big fuss about military budget for the Iraq war: Nanci-the-grandma threatened Bush with the mandatory deadline for troops pullout from Iraq. This was designed to quiet the noisy left. Then Grandma and the Pres had a compromise: Pres receives unconditional budget so he can go on TV and tell troops how much he cares about them; Nancy also shown up and talked about how she cares, etc. Both phrased a cooperation and the working together to bring the best to American people just for the Holidays. Everyone's in tears. Pres promised Babushka new Immigration Reform Bill that gives Dem.'s a ton of new voters and satisfies La Raza and bleeding heart liberals.
3. The Dem.'s left was not happy, very unhappy. The Dem.'s cannot ignore their most important contributors and noise makers. So Mr. President hinted that money he's got for the war from Congress wont be used unconditionally: new strategy has been developed by the Administration that will lead to much anticipated success. President will present it to American people when ready.
4. The concern here is that this strategic initiative will be nailed together by the same rusty nails as the now infamous Immigration Reform Deal. I recommend to delegate project management to John McCain. He is the man for the job: in addition to his extensive military expertise he can now handle the Iraqi immigration policy. A complete package. And just in case, don't let the second best strategist to go on vacation and, God forbid, to get drunk in his Massachusetts estate. The project team needs him badly and so our enemies.

American Competitiveness
The vengeance with which the architects of this senate bill are attempting to dismantle the existing system for high-skilled workers, I wonder if the subject is even being considered as worthy of discussions.

Apparently the proponents do not see the contributions by the high-skilled workers community made to-date, but see them as negative impactors to the US economy. Apparently the proponents see the business community that use the high-skilled workers program as not "Pro-American".

Is this the beginning of protectionism?
Is this the beginning of isolationism?
Is this the beginning of blunting of America's competitiveness?

I suggest the architects of this bill go back to school to study rich European nations and find out why most of them do not have a vibrant economy like US has. I am sure they will realize the factors that make US unique and vibrant.



I am alarmed
because I just read in the newsletter for the Minutemen that Senators Reid, Leahy and Kennedy have introduced a bill that has had its first reading. This bill wants to guarantee that amnesty will be first before anything else.

PSEUDO - PHILANTROPISTS

Let's read that part again:
Section 413 calls on Congress to "accelerate the implementation" of the Security and Prosperity Partnership - announced by Bush in Waco, Texas, in 2005 - so that the United States can "improve the standard of living in Mexico." Do U.S. taxpayers want to take on the awesome economic burden of solving poverty problems in Mexico?

The Senate immigration bill states that the United States want to increase access to credit for "poor and under-served populations in Mexico," and expand efforts "to reduce the transaction costs of remittance flows" from the U.S. to Mexico now running at $23 billion a year.

The Senate bill also puts the United States into a "partnership" with Mexico for "increasing health care access for poor and under-served populations in Mexico," for "assisting Mexico in increasing its emergency and trauma health care facilities," and for "expanding prenatal care" in the border region. It looks like the Heritage Foundation and Rector's estimates are only the start of the costs that will put a truly incredible burden on American taxpayers.

Let anyone who is truly a hero defending this nation's honor, integrity and future stand now and proclaim that when it comes to what is best for our country's future, there should be and cannot be any compromise, any spin or any surrender of common sense. Heroes do not retreat from opportunity to defend their nation. They do not spin or explain or rationalize. In the halls of political debate as in the fields of military combat, heroes only have one purpose, one mission and one goal, and that is total victory for our nation, its honor and its future.

The immigration deal being tossed around these days is neither carved in the best interest of this nation nor is it designed to protect, respect and plan for its future. Its only purpose is to tempt the timid, coax the cowardly, appease the lazy and inflame the delusional. It offers a way out, an escape clause and an exit ramp for those who prefer the cool safety of compromise and political expediency to the hot kitchen and burning stove of political and national courage and conviction. The heartland of America and true conservatism stands at the ready, eager to meet this challenge to our nation, to our conservative values and to the core values that we hold dear.

Betrayal of a Proud and Rational Past

The history of immigration in this planet teaches us that America is clearly the most generous and most welcoming nation that immigration has ever seen. The history of immigration in this country teaches us that logical, rational and controlled immigration is the lifeblood of a nation rich in cultural diversity and social courage. Our nation has truly been a melting pot where many from many places became one while keeping their unique cultures and contributions. That same history shows that immigration was once built on what potential immigrants brought to the national table, both in skills, in attitude and in personal determination and drive. Living in this great nation should be a privilege and not merely yet another entitlement. It should be a prize earned through the sweat exemplified by conservative values and not the entitlements epitomized by liberal delusions.

Sadly, the history of immigration into this country shows us that legislation has shifted away from that immigration of merit and skill toward an immigration of entitlement, rationalization and distortion. We have moved from a nation where there is a right way to do things toward a country where things and privileges have become a right gained without merit. This distortion of properly earned residency and citizenship has created two classes of immigrants. The first class comes to this nation with every bit as much determination, appreciation and drive as its Ellis Island ancestors. The second class, however, comes in expecting special treatment, preferential policies and double standards favoring them over previous citizens and lawful residents.

Let anyone with doubts do the research. There has never been and there will never be a nation as kind to its immigrants as America has been. There has never been nor will there ever be a nation which promises and offers such opportunity, hopes and dreams to those seeking its lawful citizenship. Appreciation and gratitude, however, are not the language of radical liberals who seek votes and influence through shameless appeasement, twisted human rights and diluted national loyalty. We now have hordes of illegal immigrants arrogantly marching for rights they have not earned. We now have bands of selfish politicians seeking only what benefits their personal interests, agenda and perceived constituency.

No matter how you cut the enchilada, this immigration bill is the latest, greatest and most insidious betrayal of a once rich immigration policy that faced those seeking to become members of this national family with open arms, open eyes, warm hearts and rational minds. Like so much harm that has come before it, this bill demands open arms, closed eyes, naïve hearts and delusional minds.

Logic, Common Sense and Justice Left Long Ago

As Alan Caruba has pointed out in his recent outstanding FSM.org commentary, Mexico's own immigration policy is much stricter, more rational and infinitely less merciful than our own. In fact, if this country had Mexico's immigration policy, liberals in this country and the Mexican government would call our government cruel, inhuman and indifferent to "human and civil rights". America grants citizenship to nearly 200 times more people per year than Mexico does, and Mexico accuses America of being exclusionary, prejudiced and indifferent. Mexico shows clear disdain for anyone seeking entitlement upon entering Mexico, yet it expects unquestioned entitlement to its own when then they enter America illegally.

In fact, Alan points out that during the years 2000-2005, Mexico lost more people to the border than to death. The absurdity of this situation is wrapped in one final, imbecilic ribbon. Let anyone criticize or question such rampant, uncontrolled, mindless immigration and the accusation of racism will surely follow. Paint this ridiculous, runaway illegal immigration train as a human rights express and watch cowards run for the hills seeking cover lest they be branded as beasts standing in the way of humanity.

It makes no sense to reward illegal behavior, yet Peter King and Mitt Romney have argued that this is exactly what this bill does, banking on yet another delusional snake oil claim that people will be willing to follow the letter of a set of laws that they have already mocked. King calls the deal a "sham" and Romney characterizes it as nothing but "amnesty". Rush Limbaugh points out that what we have here is a form of bait and switch. Get the bill through pretending that it has teeth of enforcement knowing full well that once it gets through few will want to be associated with the bites such measures would inflict.

Limbaugh argues that liberals want conservatives to be associated with the bill because it is a win/win for liberals. They get movement on immigration toward their side, debate on issues, which should not even be debated in the first place, and watch as any conservatives who favor the measure suffer loss of support from their base.

Beware Toxic Temptations or Easy Escapes

By now we should all know that political and moral courage demands that one be willing to stand firm for what one believes, no matter the litany of arguments for compromise and expediency. True, one must pick one's battles and be willing to listen on many issues, but one must also know which issues pose no room for compromise, no fallback position and no room for escape.

Our national integrity, sovereignty and security bear no such conveniences. Whether we like it or not, the issue of illegal immigration is far removed from the cool waters of rationalization, expediency and compromise afforded other areas. Only in the delusional, twisted and hypocritical minds of radical liberals can there be any such escapes from responsibility when national security and integrity are involved. After all, why should such people refuse to mock and compromise our nation's integrity at the border when they have no problem doing it in Iraq and elsewhere? Why should they conveniently ignore the arrogant rants of ungrateful and delusional illegal immigrants when they have no problem ignoring similar rants from tyrants, despots and bullies such as Hugo Chavez and others?

Let's face it, this legislation gives liberals much of what they want and waves a tempting escape for conservatives seeking an escape from this hot issue. Our national interest and security cannot be compromised at the point of poison dressed as the potion of political safety.

Conclusion

The present immigration bill being waved as a step in the right direction is nothing but a step in the left direction. It has more to do with political expediency than national loyalty. It dresses amnesty in the robes of delusional enforcement and sells injustice in the form of human rights. It pretends to be the right step for America's interests even as it would further weaken its security, national integrity, sovereignty and future.

This new bill is a snake in the political Garden of Eden, where compromise and half is better than none. The only problem is that our national security and future are not enchiladas or tacos ready to split in half for the sake of convenience.

Please remember that liberals are masters of delusion, experts of disinformation and gurus of street fighting. Let anyone who doubts if this legislation is harmful to our nation simply look at the way Ted Kennedy favors it. I do not know about you, but my best litmus test on what is right for this great nation is to run in the opposite direction than Ted Kennedy is going. After all, if there is one thing that liberals like Teddy know, it is how to make great escapes and leave what matters most behind.


Come one, come all, amigos
As Phyllis pointed out, all this bill does is to imcrease the number of legal immigrants to match or exceed the current number of illegal immigrants who are sneaking across the border. The net effect is an influx of more than the current 3000 a day sneaking in, but none of them will be called illegal aliens anymore. Make no mistake, this is an open borders bill.

Thanks for telling the truth about the bill. Only if your fellow "conservatives" would do the same, namely Michael Medved, Robert Novak, Linda Chavez, Fred Barnes, Lindsey Graham and others. These people are trying to shut the conservatives by labeling them as racists. They use words like bigots, demagogues, vigilantes, restrictionists, hysterical and hate mongers.

Bottom line
It's all about the amnesty.

They create a smokescreen about other aspects, promising the moon with no intention of fulfilling the promises.

This time around, we're again promised all these ideas that sound great on paper: beefed up border securidad, toughened employer sanctions, better ID checking, etc.

But what's our experience been? Same promises in 1986, and all we got was the amnesty part. No Prez other than Reagan made the slightest effort to enforce or obey the law's mandates.

October 2006, we got the fence bill. Big brouhaha at its passage and signing ceremony. Only one problem: no enabling legislation was ever passed to fund the sucker. No money.

And that's what we'll see if this thing becomes law. Instant amnesty, no future funding or enforcement.

Forgive my skepticism, but it's based on experience and realism.


Traitors
As Memorial day approaches and we remember the servicemen who died and are dying for this country, we must also remember the politicians who are trying to jam an amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens who march under other nation's flags and basically despise this country.
In the past, I've always questioned when other people called the individuals who are always pushing new immigration bills as "traitors." However after reading the provisions of this disgusting bill and seeing the arrogance of such individuals as "Chappaquiddick" Teddy, McCain, Lindsay Graham, and especially President Bush, I disagree no more. They are traitors to this country and the almost 80% of its citizens who are against this bill. Every politician who votes in favor of this bill, of either party, must be remembered at election time.

How to kill amnesty bill?
Cal Thomas made a great point in his latest column. It is not enough just to hold the senators and congressmen accountable at election time, but more importantly, it is critical that the amnesty bill be stopped now. Once the bill passes, the top dogs in Congress don't really care if they get bumped in their re-election bids, because a huge payday awaits them from the cheap-labor lobby. The younger, less known legislators are the ones to target. Unlike Graham, McCain and Kyl, the lesser-known congressmen do care about their re-election chances. Let these congressmen in your district and state know that your vote will depend on one issue only, the defeat of this amnesty bill.

What is the rush?
I thought that the proposed law would be helpful, so I was hoping it could get into effect as soon as possible to stem the tide of illegal immigration. Silly me! Now I think we should take a deep breath, for a couple of years maybe and just concentrate on protecting the borders. Then we can look at this amnesty. What about all the jerks who are waiting out there all over the world for their turn to come here. They are stupid; they should have sneaked in here and waited for the politicians to set up an amnesty. As it is, the only people who would benefit from this law are those who hold our laws in utter contempt.

You forgot to mention that Duncan Hunter was also the Chairman of the Armed Services Committee before the RINOs caused the Republicans to lose last November. That position gave Hunter valuble, hands-on experience which the other candidates can only talk about.

I do have one concern going into the primaries. There is a split among conservatives between Hunter and Ron Paul. I will vote for either one, but if the votes are split between the two, they cannot possibly win. So, between now and the primaries, we must agree on one candidate.

I'm visiting DC this weekend, in part to pay tribute to our fallen heroes. As I walk down Pennsylvania Avenue, I think to myself, "I wonder what it would be like to live in the White House. It's got to be better than my tiny, run-down apartment."

I decide to go for it. I know it is against the law, but I figure I can slip in without anyone noticing.

In the dark of night, I scale the wall, hopping over within seconds. I scurry behind a bush, then to a tree, and then WHAM, I am tackled by a bull of a man. Within seconds, I am surrounded be 10 intense looking Secret Service agents, guns drawn. The human bull practically rips my arms off as he cuffs me.

I am taken to a basement room in the back of the White House where another agent, a middle aged gentleman, walks in to question me.

"Sir, I am Special Agent Graham," he says with this annoying, effeminate southern drawl. "Would you mind telling me what you think you are doing by hopping the security perimeter?"

"I just wanted to look around a bit. I thought maybe I could find some work." I reply.

"No sir. There is NO way you can enter the premises that way. If you want to look around or get a job, you have to enter properly."

I look perplexed. "You mean I can't just walk in when I want?"

"Absolutely not. You could be a terrorist. It would be entirely irresponsible and plain stupid to let people come and go as they please." Agent Graham explains.

"Look, I'm not a terrorist. I'm just some poor guy looking for some work for the summer."

Agent Graham shuffles some papers and stands up. "I'm afraid you are going to be detained for quite some time until we can determine if you are a serious threat."

"But I thought it only took 24 hours or so to do a background check?" I ask.

Agent Graham chuckles. "Whoever told you that is a complete imbecile." He starts to leave the room.

"Wait, I have a couple more questions. You have a wall and security fence to keep people out, right?"

"Sir, are you mentally retarded? Of course, that's why there is a wall."

"But I got across the wall, didn't I?"

"Yes, but it was a lot harder for you to get across, and then our agents were waiting for you when you did get across," Agent Graham starts to get angry.

"I get it. I get it. Calm down. Hey, could I get somebody to check out my knee. I twisted it last week playing softball."

"Huh?"

"Oh, and is there anyway I could call my parents. I would love for them to see where I am now...you know, look around a bit too?"

Agent Graham looks at me crossly.

"What about my kids? They are in a hotel room down the street. Do you think somebody here could educate them as to the history of this fine building?"

"Sir you want me to take care of your medical needs, bring your parents in, educate your kids??? All of this AFTER you tried to enter the White House illegally?? Who the hell do you think you are, sir?" Agent Graham screams

"I'm a Mexican," I lie.

"Ohhh," Agent Graham looks stunned. Then he smiles. "Well, why didn't you say so. Come this way, mi amigo."

HUNTER FOR AMERICA

Republican voters still get to decide who their nominee will be. Money only buys elections when people act like sheep. If 80% of Republicans are indeed seeking a conservative, we can nominate one. We can nominate Duncan Hunter. The money players won't like it and are trying to convince us to nominate an open borders candidate. Give Americans a chance to vote for a candidate who WILL secure the border and watch what happens to turnout. Americans want their government to fulfill it's most basic responsibility.

The primary responsibility of the U.S. government is to protect the territorial integrity and people of this country. They have completely abdicated this responsibility. Both parties have been complicit in this. We are being told it is not possible to control our borders, enforce our laws, and thereby control our destiny as a nation. Hogwash. We are being sold out by corporations intent on importing workers for jobs that can't be exported with the taxpayers paying the true costs, financial and human. If we act like sheep and don't stop the inundation across our borders, we will lose our country without a bleat.

I was listening to some conservative talk shows on radio this week, and I hear alot of enthusiasm for Ron Paul. As I said earlier, I am concerned about the vote split between Hunter and Paul. I am almost hoping that one of them would drop out, so all the pro-border security voters would unite behind one candidate.

Well, he's on the hill, and ought to be able to find out who has written the legistation, and to then tell the American people the answer to his question.

We don't have the resources to find out, but he does. And, I'd like to know who it is that wrote this bill.

And, am I correct in assuming that this bill will amount to de facto amnesty for all of the American corporations who have sold us down the river by hiring illegals? If we don't enforce the law now, I'll bet that we aren't going to do it retroactively!

Who is Thompson?
I would consider Thompson if I know what he stands for. I know he is a good actor. Since so many conservatives are jumping on the Fred wagon, I want to know what the attraction is. I see alot of similarities between Thompson and Romney. Smooth talk, and neither has much in their political resume deserving of the title "true conservative". Until they prove otherwise, all conservatives should use caution before anointing either one of them the savior. Check this out.

Start bombarding your local newsrags with letters. Get some bumper stickers. When you are out dining, talk a little louder so those around you can hear you. Every little bit helps get the word out. My freshman Dem. Congressman opposes it, says enforcement first. He's been getting a lot of calls/letters from this Republican district and he does want to keep his job.

Allright, Let's write animmigration bill
I've heard too much whining about this! People saying they're going to do all sorts of things except come up with a solution that I believe red-blooded patriots would support in the 90 percentile. So here is my rough draft which will also be sent to The Cato Institute, The Heritage Foundation, columnists, talk show hosts and anybody else I can think of. The problem is time is of the essence.
(1) A 2300 mile double fence with a double lane road in between.
(2) Immigrants must be able to read, write and speak English. They must be disease free. They must have a sponsor guranteeing work. No welfare of any kind for five (5) years. A minimum of a high school diploma or the equivalent.
(3) The needs of our various industries determines who comes in ie nurses, doctors engineers etc. Human resource managers notify the ICE of needs and then recruit from countries those people with specific skills requisite for the respective industry
(4) Housing occupancy ordinances are to be enforced by the respective state, county, local and municipal jurisdictions with landlords paying huge fines for non-compliance.
(5) All previous bills are to be repealed with the approval of the latest and hopefully final bill.
(6) Automatic citizenship for anchor babys will be terminated for those who have illegally entered or overstayed their visa.

This is just a starter and I hope and trust the bright people out there will finish it.

Remember, our president has alot of the wealthy ranchers in Texas, that use this Mexican labor for all the heavy ranch work. The King Ranch even has Mexican towns with schools and churches on there thousands of acres. The Mexicans wrangle the cattle asn horses, etc., others do the house work of every kind. He will be going back to Texas when his presidency is over. Must please all his wealthy friends he'll have to live with.

I want to make a prediction. Once W is out of office, he will never set foot in Texas again. The Bush's rather be in Maine. The only reason Texas became home was Senior's oil dealings. Once Senior decided to enter politics, he figured staying in Texas would give him a better shot at the White House. Hasn't anyone noticed that Senior doesn't spend any time in Texas anymore. W stayed in Texas for the same reason. Expect W to pack his carpetbag and go home to Maine. If you want to know about Fred Thompson, he has posted numerous pieces here recently on Townhall.
You could Google his name and see that he was a Senator from Tennessee, with strong Conservative traditional values.
Mr Thompson withdrew from the political arena because he felt that the politicians he had to deal with were liars and self serving. And since that is what we are discussing here, all the more reason that he is viable, IMHO.
Those of us in favor of him have already looked into his background, and feel that we have a legitimate guy to back.

Excellent post. I have said before that the "fence/wall" needs to be so robust that only a nuclear bomb can bring it down. That way, the extra Border Patrol guys won't be necessary.
And that would be good news to them, as they are already being arrested and put in prison for doing their job.

As long as I have been voting as an American citizen, I have never known an issue as divisive as immigration. I thought Prop 178 passed by the voters of California would address the problem, but ONE federal judge ruled the proposition to be unconstitional. The governor at the time was Pete Wilson who didn't have the balls to fight it and the flood gates on the borders were open.

I think those who are in favor of this legislation should spend a little time in Mexico before they get too excited about it. The illegals are here for more than just the money. They are oppressed daily in their homeland. Now, they even want to know what's in your mail and examine your telephone calls.

I think the first to go there for an extended visit is Ted Kennedy. Then Lindsey Graham and both Senators from California. They all lack any understanding of the chaos they will be putting the country through economically and socially.

Can you assemble a video for youtube that has about 20 or more citizens who publicly state that they will no longer file income taxes , participate in jury duty, participate in any civic duties, cooperate with law enforcement, etc.etc.etc. Add a section that states that those who endorse or sponsor anything but strict enforcement of existing laws are committing an act of treason against the people and "we the people" are demanding their indictment. If this goes through the senate, then is time to start being very aggressive.

Let's put it together so that any dummy can understand and get onboard.

I like the Hill out of Duncan Hill.
Not good prose, but what the Hill. We need two like him. I can't see Paul getting anywhere, and he'll just strangle himself (with a little help from the MSM). Thomas might be okay, maybe. At least he talks a good line, maybe.

Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. The way to deal with this critical turning point in our nations history is not to turn away from the republican party, but to purge it. What we need now is a new “Contract with America” based on Newt Gingrichs original. It brought in a whole new class of freshman Congressmen committed
to a specific agenda, when the elites were trying to sell us out. Sound familiar?.Some suggestions to start with.
#1 The expulsion, not accommodation of every last illegal alien. This does not include simply declaring them legal. This will result more from attrition as laws are enforced than from outright deportation.
#2 The commitment to sealing our borders with the military.
#3 The commitment to ruthlessly enforcing workplace and renting to illegals laws.
#4 Putting a stop to all Government benefits, services, and aid to illegals.
#5 A radical restructuring of our relationship with Mexico. Acknowledging the principles that we owe Mexico absolutely nothing. That no Mexican interest or government will be allowed any say in American policy. That they need us vastly more than we need them. That we will not tolerate any attempt to export their problems here. There are nations that American business is restricted from doing business with, and being on our border does not exempt Mexico. Cuba is not much further away. If this creates a “Cold War” situation, fine. This has been the case through much of our history anyway. This may damage our economy but the current policy of pandering will destroy it.
#6 The in depth investigation of the corruption and blatently anti law enforcement activities of U.S. officials on the border. The Ramos/Campeon case. The catering to Mexican gangsters. Make it a national priority to expose and bring to justice those responsible, no matter how high the trail leads. The Total Commitment to the principle that we will not tolerate the infection of our country with Mexicos culture of corruption.
#7 The classification of La Raza and other radical pro illegal advocacy groups as terrorist/criminal organizations, like Hamas or Al Queda. This may be difficult to sell the American people on at first, but when they see the tide turning against them it is hard to believe that they will not move beyond mere hateful rhetoric.
One has only to look to Lebanon today to see the future of America if these groups continue to grow in power.
It is not impossible to save our country. The open border crowd would have us believe that their vision is an inescapable force of history, but if all Americans stand together we can be unbeatable.

You are off track and have incorrect reports as to Mexico. You are reading into this factors which do not exist.

1. Mexico sionce 2 the year 2001 has extradited numerous criminals to the US from the drug mafi and some for murder. Only this year under the new president they have sent more than a dozen to the U.S. justice.

There should be NO PATH TO CITIZENSHIP for those who have been here ILLEGALLY. It is egregious to speak of ILLEGALS paying a token fine when each ILLEGAL alien household is costing taxpayers $22k annually in deficit taxes versus social services used alone (Heritage).

4. NO WELFARE for ILLEGAL aliens. America has welcomed LEGAL immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. American men in their 30s today are worse off than their fathers’ generation, a reversal from just a decade ago, when sons generally were better off than their fathers, a new study says.

The study, the first in a series on economic mobility undertaken by several prominent think tanks, also says the typical American family’s income has lagged far behind productivity growth since 2000, a departure from most of the post-World War II period.

The findings suggest “the up escalator that has historically ensured that each generation would do better than the last may not be working very well,” says the study, which is scheduled for release today.

I stand amazed that such a piece of legislation could actually be taken seriously. I can't believe that any American that values what this country was founded upon would accept such a bill. It's not about the American dream, it's a guarantee that liberals will sieze control of our way of life. If you approve of that, then you'll like this bill.

The last time Jorge worked with the 'Crats we got No Bureaucrat Left Behind and Rx Care for Seniors-- both expensive, invasive boondoggles. Dubya is now making Jimma' Carter seem relatively competent by contrast!

Teddy Homicide's immigration lawyers have again crafted this travesty bill. I cannot recall ANYTHING Teddy advocated being truly beneficial to Middle America, especially when the costs were factored in.

Those who think we need the "cheap" labor call those of us who seek to preserve America's socio-economic well-being by stressing educated, skilled immigrants racists/xenophobes. Funny thing, though-- everywhere you look you see Sen. Menendez, Commerce Sec. Gutierrez, and RNC Chair (Rino Network for reConquista) Martinez, and reps for latino advocate groups braying a programmed litany about "preserving families." I guess that is not really ethnocentricity antithetical to our best interests-- they just believe in family values-- like pandemic rates of illegitimacies, dropouts, crimes, drugs, gangs. Take Action !
The readers of these posts are already aware of 99% of what is written. This is like preaching to the choir. To become effective we need to get the message to those who are not aware of the pending bankruptcy of America if the Comprehensive Amnesty/Bankrupt Legislation is passed. Get everyone, not just Conservatives, involved, get them angry and urge them to take action. Avoid terms such as: He's a bum, crook, traitor etc. as main points because some already know it and the rest don't care. Instead list facts (he voted for/against) that will get readers angry. Refrain from partisan references like: "because we're conservative" or "this will be the end of the GOP". Would that get a liberal to sign on? Some won't read a serious letter but they'll watch a video. Go to http://www.utube.com , enter "illegal alien" and dozens of videos will pop up showing alien defiance. View several and forward one or two as emails. Note that some of this craazy legislation passed by only a few votes, therefore only a few changes in the House and Senate would stop this crazyness. Demand that state committees determine and endorse qualified candidates to replace some of the rats who endorse amnesty in the PRIMARY. Promise that you'll vote for the opponent if the rat wins the primary.....they'll figure it out. The bill that gave social secutity to illegals passed the Senate by only one vote, therefore anyone who voted for it "cast the deciding vote" Suggestion: Send the emails to yourself so they'll open with your addressbook and be easier to forward rather than typing in many individual addresses. In the next two posts, I'll show examples that you can forward as email or change and individualize for your own Congressperson. Go get 'em !

Sen. Martinez is a threat to America
As a youngster, Senator Mel(rhymes with Fidel)Martinez R-FL migrated from Cuba to America as a LEGAL alien. He worked odd jobs to save money to buy a used car for his father,upon his arrival from Cuba. This was admirable, BUT WAIT.......
Martinez is currently promoting Illegal Amnesty legislation that will cost you a fortune. The estimated net cost(Alien taxes paid minus cost of benefits received)to the American taxpayer is about $20,000 per illegal alien household, per year. That's about the cost of a new car EVERY YEAR. Isn't it interesting that Martinez worked to buy his father a USED car, but now he wants YOU to buy a NEW car for every illegal family ?

Many more illegal families are coming because Martinez encourages and, in fact, entices them to illegally cross the border with legislation he has passed.

Martinez cast the deciding Senate vote to give Social Security to illegal aliens. The system is already bankrupt but Martinez makes it worse, much worse. Why should he care if he breaks the bank of Social Security and Medicare before you can collect? Martinez and the rest of Congress are exempt from paying into the fund because they're guaranteed a private lifetime payout set up by Congress for Congress.

Martinez also entices illegals because he voted to allow "illegal alien amnesty cities." Although it's against federal law, Congress passed it anyway. Congress made ANARCHY legal.

Because of his ties to radical pro-illegal alien groups, Martinez was appointed as the Chairman of the Republican National Committee. What harm will come to America now that a Marxist is in charge of the Republican Party ?

We need to stop Martines and his crazy Amnesty bill. Vote him out in the next PRIMARY election. Demand that Florida committees determine and endorse a qualified candidate to run against him in the PRIMARY and promise them that, should Martinez win the primary, you'll vote for his opponet in the Senate election. Call, write and email everyone to complain about the Comprehensive Amnesty Bill.

Many complain about Congress but shrug their shoulders and mumble "But what can I do?". If someone stole your car and gave it to an illegal alien family would you shrug and buy another car or would you take action? Then take action now because you can be assured that if this bill passes, 24 hours later Sen. Martinez will show up at your home with a burgler bar, steal your car and come back every year to do it again.

Take action and forward this to everyone you know.

If you wanted to call your Senator in D.C., you would have to pay for the call and wait a long time, perhaps hours, to get through. PRO OPEN BORDER groups have organized and are promoting a toll-free number for illegal aliens and open border advocates to call their Senator. Based on your area code, electronics will sort the call and send it directly to one of your two Senators. Because the response of people calling to complain about the Comprehensive amnesty bill is huge, this line is provided to make it appear that many Americans are in favor of this horrible bill....but many callers are not American. When you read that many calls to Senators are split on the bill, this is why. The message is all in Spanish except for a few words in English that are slowly pronounced so the caller can appear to speak English and fool the Senators office...."Support immigration reform that protects families and workers". Calls are being made by the millions to distort the numbers and give the wrong impression of what Americans really think. Part of this is paid for by grants using taxpayer dollars. Though all in Spanish, You'll hear "marque uno para (name of Senator) or marque dos para (Name of Sen.), thus enter 1 or 2 to reach that Senator's office. The number is: 1-800-882-2005. Forward this to every American (suggestion: forward to yourself, then forward with your addressbook to avoid typing many individuals). Call many times every day because:
1. Offset the phoney calls that favor amnesty.
2. Tell them what you really think.
3. It's free.
4. It's easy
5. It runs up the phone bill of the open border groups.
