Patrick Buchanan sounds alarm in 'State of Emergency'

Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

What is the United States of America? Is it merely an accident of geography, or a job market for the world, or a multiethnic, multilingual lot of people who agreed (more or less, and probably temporarily) to live under a constitution? Those aren't goals to die for; yet many men for centuries have fought and died for America. Where did they get the courage, the stamina, and the perseverance to create and maintain America as an oasis of freedom and prosperity in a hostile world?

Patrick Buchanan believes that America is fundamentally a nation "held together by bonds of history and memory, tradition and custom, language and literature, birth and faith." Those bonds of brotherhood and ancestry existed before the U.S. Constitution was written, and sustained us through wars and economic depressions.

In his newest book, Buchanan challenges us to ponder our national identity, which already existed in the hearts of Americans when the Founding Fathers proclaimed the sovereignty of "we the people." Because we are now in critical danger of losing our identity, the apt title of his book is "State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America" (Thomas Dunne Books: $25).

Buchanan rejects the notion that American identity is merely "creedal," i.e., united only by a common commitment to the U.S. Constitution and a set of basic laws. Even if that were true, it clearly would exclude the illegal aliens who violate our laws every day.

Buchanan agrees with Harvard professor Samuel Huntington that the "central issue of our time" is the migration into America of millions of people who come from very different cultures and refuse to adapt to ours. Buchanan calls the unprecedented entry of legal and illegal foreign born during the last 10 years a tsunami, unlike any wave ever seen in the history of the world.

The melting pot metaphor is a thing of the past. Today the United States is admitting people who don't want to be part of the nation called the United States; they want a land that looks like the United Nations General Assembly.

The immigrants who came from Europe in previous centuries fully assimilated, but many of today's immigrants instead are "self-segregating, forming their own towns within our cities, maintaining their language and identifying with one another, not America." They maintain their loyalty to their native land.

Is Western Europe a picture of America's future? Buchanan says that continent can now be called Eurabia because the civilization of Western Europe is fast folding under the dramatic fall in the native birth rate and entry of 20 million unassimilated Muslims.

Closer to home, Los Angeles may be a model of what America is to become. Sixty-one percent in the City of Angels speak a language other than English at home, which means they don't listen to English-language radio and TV programs, don't get their news from English-language newspapers and magazines, and don't share our heroes, history or holidays.

Those millions of migrants are putting on the chopping block our culture, including its morality, language, history, health, education, economic practices, and rule of law.

Many people dismissed the term "reconquista" as just the hysterical tirade of radical Mexicans, but Huntington warns us, "Demographically, socially, and culturally, the "reconquista" of the Southwest United States ... is well under way."

Mexicans have been taught that the United States "stole" the Southwest from Mexico. A 2002 Zogby poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans believe that the Southwest "belongs" to Mexico.

There was a time when our President, Theodore Roosevelt, could say: "There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism ... a hyphenated American is not an American at all.... The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else."

Today, our elites celebrate diversity rather than U.S. ideals and identity. To justify the enormous numbers of foreign-born entering the United States, legally and illegally, we are reminded ad nauseam that we are a nation of immigrants.

However, immigrants, legal and illegal, don't come to America because of our diversity of residents, but because we are a land of freedom and opportunity. Most of the creators of our unique land were not immigrants.

Of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, 48 were native-born Americans and two of the others came to this country as babies. Of the 39 signers of the U.S. Constitution, 32 were native-born Americans, and the few signers of both documents who were not native-born all came from Great Britain or British colonies.

The most diversity we had in the founding of America was that some came from big states like Massachusetts and some from small states like Delaware. "State of Emergency" lists all the obvious solutions: no amnesty, a border fence, eliminate birthright citizenship and taxpayer-paid social benefits, prohibit dual citizenship, require businesses to match employees' Social Security numbers, and time-out on legal immigration.

The book also contains all the facts about the failure of our government to stop the tsunami that has rolled over our country during the Bush presidency: the crime, the costs, the diseases, the drugs, the displacements. His book will convince you that we are, indeed, in a "State of Emergency."

"There was a time when our President,
Theodore Roosevelt, could say: 'There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism ... a hyphenated American is not an American at all.... The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.'"

Wouldn't that be awesome to hear a president say that again?

Hey Linda Chavez..
...read an unbiased review of this book...unless the bias is pro American sans hyphen.

Yep.
Mexico allowed uncontrolled immigration into the Southwest in the early to mid 19th Century, which led to a flood of Anglos. This ultimately led to the independance of Texas, then the Mexican-American War which culminated in the Treaty of Guadelupe Hidalgo in 1848, in which the US gained the lands of modern southwestern US.

If, as a country, we're stupid enough to let the process reverse itself, we DESERVE to lose the southwest back to Mexico, by force of numbers if not in fact.

This whole immigration issue is a total debacle at this point, due to libs, Bush, the Senate, the Linda Chavezes, and all like them.

The thing no one speaks of...
I'll use California as an example... When the Bear Flag Revolt took place and ultimately resulted in California's independence there were 2,000 Mexicans, 4,000 Anglos, and 54,000 Native Americans. People -- this was never Mexican land. It was Native American land. You can fly any flag you'd like over a piece of land and it wouldn't change what it is/was. For crying out loud -- 2,000 Mexicans and 54,000 Native Americans... Do the math.

Buchanan's Alarm
I agree with him. If the immigrants want to live in America, America must come FIRST and FOREMOST, they must place behind the old ways, their old country, language and traditions, this is a new life, a new beginins. They must accept America, take OUR PLEDGE OF ALLEGENCE, learn our language, and not segrate themselves from America and Americans then call us Bigots! for they are the Bigots because they refuse to become one with the rest of us!

BUSH needs new INS top gun...
Don't get me wrong. I still have hopes that George W Bush will measure up to my hopes when I voted twice for him. President Bush should appoint PATRICK BUCHANAN in the INS catbird seat.

What kind of person gladly gives away
his own country? What person in his right mind invites "guests" to come in and take over his own house? That's exactly what all the intellectuals and most contemporary politicians are forcing us to do as a nation, today. Are we going to continue standing by and just watching it happen? It's time to put and end to this chicanery.

I am so tired of feeling helpless and betrayed by these people. Their obnoxiousness is getting worse and worse. They don’t even try to hide it any more. It’s almost as if they are laughing at us. The left has turned every public venue (politics, education, the legal system and the media) into a “destroy America” machine. This nonsense has to stop.

What we need is an on the ground, old fashioned grass roots effort at the national level. We need a way to get around the “hate America” media and all the self-serving, egocentric politicians. We need a way for the silent majority to make our voices heard. I know there are plenty of you who are just as frustrated as I am about not being able to do anything. All we need is a way to channel our frustration into coordinated action. As a first step, I have created a Blog dedicated to this objective. I named it the Reclaim America Project (RAP).

If you, too, are ready for action, and would like to be a part of this movement, please join us at Reclampro.townhall.com, We would appreciate your thoughts and input. Let the RAP begin!!!

Bush's underlying motivation?
After reading J.D. Hayworth's book "Whatever it Takes", and researching/ghost-writing several articles on immigration, I still cannot figure out why the Republican Party and the Pres refuses to take a hard line on this issue, despite all the polls that say it is a political winner. Some possible reasons include: 1) Bush's affinity for the Mexican American community, developed when he directly appealed to them in his races for Texas Gov. He greatly increased the percentage of Mexican Americans who voted Republican, and he feels he owes them loyalty for that; 2) Political strategists like Rove are trying to capitalize on the exploding Hispanic population and trying to make sure they do not entrench themselves as anti-GOP voters (similar to what happened to the Black vote); 3) they have bought in to the economic argument that a drastic reduction in cheap labor would spark runaway inflation. I think all of these reasons (and feel free to hypothesize on your own) are inconsequential near-term concerns, that do not factor in the impact on the long term development of the US. Bush's vision of the Middle East is a far-reaching one - imagining what the region might be like 20-30 years down the road. It is tragic that he and the GOP do not apply that same vision right here at home.

"Intellectuals" haven't invited ANYBODY
Democrats haven't invited anybody.

Whiny, soft-hearted liberals, though annoying, haven't invited anybody.

But our businesses and greedy private citizens with big lawns have invited 12,000,000 at least.

It's the American way. Bottom line. Always, always, bottom line.

Ive read Pat's book...
Now, everytime I read of this subject it puts a knot in my gut. I really wonder if it's not already to late. After all, it's hard to fix a problem when the people in power have no desire to fix it in the first place. Who do you vote for when you have a choice between a lib-dem and republicans that have acted like dems since we put them in office? Pat, Newt...lead...get back in there..it's time.

Disintegration
Yes, it's too late. Our political elites and the sheep who elected them lack the will to do anything about this immigration fiasco. Indeed, we have such august figures as George Will comparing any attempt at building a fence to the erecting of the Berlin Wall! And he is held up by pundits as a conservative?!? Take a good look at your country, people, because it's all down hill from here.

Reconquista
It's not about Reconquista. These people do not want our southwest 'returned to Mexico'. Think about it. They are fleeing Mexico in droves. Why would they want more of Mexico? It is about removing borders. Globalization. Anti-Nationalism. One world, zero countries. And I am beginning to get that this is Bush's vision too. Traitorous, isn't it? Except that if he gets his way, there will be no such concept as 'traitor'.

Just a note from the true History .
Here make it easy and fun at the same time re:
the American Southwest, there is a book of truth, and of courage all in one book.

"Apache" by Will Levington Confort, the life story of my great, great, great, great grandfather, Mangus Colorados, Apache Chief.

Of intrest to truth is the facts of the $2.00 per set of Apache men, women and childrens ears paid by first the Spanish and then the Mexican Goverments as they by force took from the Apache the Amerian Southwest. Then as now the Mexican Goverment pushed their poor off into another land, as the wage slaves to mine the gold of the Apache for the rich elite of the American East Coast, now a word of caution about the hot iron to your feet when old, some like Mangus will fight one last time, others will only cower, for you see nothing much has changed, the fact is
the Apache are no longer the only hunted, now Americans you, you are the new Apache, beware it
has a bad ending around a hot fire and hot steel.

go, read and study and learn a path of truth

Real diversity & unity...

Real Diversity & Unity among the Founders…

“Of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, 48 were native-born Americans and two of the others came to this country as babies. Of the 39 signers of the U.S. Constitution, 32 were native-born Americans, and the few signers of both documents who were not native-born all came from Great Britain or British colonies.

The most diversity we had in the founding of America was that some came from big states like Massachusetts and some from small states like Delaware.” – Phyllis Schlafly

Mrs. Schlafly, thanks for exposing the fallacy of modern diversity. We hold to the same view about diversity that the founders held. They believed in real diversity and real unity. The most diverse people possible can be brought together under the Prince of Peace as revealed in the Scriptures. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

We add these data about the religious affiliation of the founders to demonstrate the basic idea that it is how a man thinks that makes him to differ or to bring unity of purpose among men. The majority of the founders were Christian men who understood the grace of God. Our form of government and the liberties we enjoy did not arise from paganism, nor will they be sustained by paganism.

Of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence: 36 were Protestant including Congregationalists, Presbyterians and Episcopalians; 1 Roman Catholic; 1 Deist; the rest unknown. Of the 39 signers of the U.S. Constitution: 33 were Protestant; 2 Roman Catholic, the rest unknown. [data available on request]

Bush & FOX ... BFF
"Some possible reasons include: 1) Bush's affinity for the Mexican American community, developed when he directly appealed to them in his races for Texas Gov. He greatly increased the percentage of Mexican Americans who voted Republican, and he feels he owes them loyalty for that;"

I am really bothered by Bush's "close friendship" with Vicente Fox. He seems far more concerned with keeping Mr. Fox happy than he is with following the wishes of the American people. I will even go so far as to say his friendship with Fox is a conflict of interest!

civil war
We're headed for civil war, folks. There's no other way to look at what is happening to our country. War is unavoidable.

And I don't say this to be provocative. I say it because I want my fellow Americans to prepare themselves--mentally, intellectually, politically, morally--for what will be required of us to take back our country.

Think about it. If we don't do anything about the immigration invasion, Americans become a persecuted minority in OUR OWN COUNTRY. You can already see what happenes to white people in majority non-white countries such as Zimbabwe and South Africa. Are Americans prepared to tolerate this? Are we prepared to surrender our children's birthright?

But, if we do crack down on immigration and deport and remove immigrants, then we risk provoking mass riots. Here in Southern California, Chicano terrorists are already demanding that whites "go back to Europe." The threats and actions are only going to escalate.

There's no escaping the fact that the future of the US looks grim. Americans are going to have to make some tough decisions and steel ourselves for what is coming.

Perspective
I think it is hilarious when people talk about illegal immigraition in terms of defending ourselves from an invasion. Wouldn't Native Americans have considered the Europeans "illegal immigrants" from todays perspective?
