Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

It's not just U.S. ports that are fast slipping into foreign ownership; it's highways, too. A Spanish company, Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., has bought the right to operate a toll road through Texas and collect tolls for the next 50 years.

Hearings held by the Texas Department of Transportation this summer attracted hundreds of angry Texans.

Called the Trans-Texas Corridor, TTC, on which construction is planned to begin next year, this highway would bisect Texas from Oklahoma to its border with Mexico. Plans call for a 10-lane limited-access highway to parallel Interstate 35. It would have three lanes each way for passenger cars, two express lanes each way for trucks, rail lines both ways for people and freight, plus a utility corridor for oil and natural gas pipelines, electric towers, cables for communication, and telephone lines.

Central to this plan is a massive taking of 584,000 acres of farm and ranch land at an estimated cost of $11 billion to $30 billion - property then lost from the tax rolls of counties and school districts. After the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Kelo v. City of New London, Conn., no one need wonder about the power of eminent domain to take private property.

The Trans-Texas Corridor will be the first leg of what has been dubbed the NAFTA Super Highway to go through heartland America all the way to Canada. This would be a major lifeline of the plan to merge the United States into a North American Community.

Plans are already locked in for Kansas City Southern de Mexico Railroad to bring Chinese goods in sealed cargo containers from the southern Mexican port of Lazaro Cardinas direct to Kansas City, Mo. Mexican trucks will be able to drive more sealed containers up the fast lanes of the NAFTA Super Highway, inspected only electronically if at all, and making their first customs stop in Kansas City.

In response to recent articles in conservative publications about the sovereignty, freedom and economic dangers that will result from President George W. Bush's creating the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America in Waco, Texas, in March 2005, the partnership has issued an unconvincing rebuttal.

This Security and Prosperity Partnership document starts by declaring, "Our three great nations share a belief in freedom, economic opportunity, and strong democratic institutions." That's false; Mexico is a corrupt country where a few families control all the wealth while the rest of the people are kept in abject poverty with no hope of economic opportunity.

The rebuttal states that partnership's mission is to make "our businesses more competitive in the global marketplace." That's globalist doubletalk that means producing U.S. goods with cheap foreign labor, thereby destroying the U.S. middle class.

The rebuttal states that the project wasn't "signed" by Bush at Waco. But when Bush went to Cancun, Mexico, in March 2006, he proclaimed the first anniversary of whatever he had agreed to in Waco in 2005, and he sent Michael Chertoff to Ottawa to take "an important first step" toward whatever Bush did or didn't sign in Waco.

The rebuttal denies that the partnership's working groups are secret, but the Security and Prosperity Partnership won't release the names of who is serving on them. The rebuttal denies that the partnership will "cost U.S. taxpayer money" because it is using "existing budget resources" (no doubt coming from the fairy godmother).

Thanks to the Internet, we can often find out more about the doings of the Bush administration from the foreign press than from U.S. media. A Spanish-language article written from a Mexican perspective one year ago fully described the plan for the "deep integration" of the three North American countries.

Economist and researcher Miguel Pickard explained that although the plan is sometimes called NAFTA Plus, there will be no single treaty text and nothing will be submitted to the legislatures of the three countries. The elites plan to implement their shared vision of "a merged future" through "the signing of 'regulations' free of citizen review." Pickard revealed a series of three meetings of a new entity called the Independent Task Force on the Future of North America. After secretly conniving in Toronto, New York and Monterrey, Mexico, the task force called for a unified North American Border Action Plan (i.e., open borders among the three countries), and the three countries then signed "close to 300 regulations."

The United States was represented at the meeting by Robert Pastor, who has been working for years to promote North American integration. Pickard revealed that Pastor is in "constant dialogue" with Jorge G. Castaneda, Vicente Fox's foreign relations adviser. Pickard is convinced that George W. Bush is "vigorously pushing" the idea of a "North American community." Pickard concluded that the schedule calls for beginning with a customs union, then a common market, then a monetary and economic union, and finally the adoption of a single currency (already baptized as the "amero" by Pastor).

Where's Buchanan?
Reading this is absolutely nauseating.

I will agree with this highway with these conditions:(1)there are no exits and (2)on both sides there are thirty foot concrete walls leading the serfs to Canada for THEIR "universal" healthcare.

Property Rights Assaulted?
While traveling across Texas recently, I noticed numerous signs near the gates of ranches promising to shoot any Texas Department of Transportation trespassers on their private property. Now, I am beginning to see what is going on. Mrs. Schafly is to be congratulated on having the courage once again to speak out against treasonous actions by our erstwhile "leadership".

Gotta Love this Gal
Once again, it's the intrepid Mrs. Schlafly unearthing the undiscovered side of what is really going on. I'm deeply disturbed by this turn of events. If it proves true, and I bet it will, we have been sold out by the elites.

God bless Phyllis.
I just forwarded this article to Feedback at Fox News. I asked whether they know about this monumental super highway. I also asked why they havn't had Phyllis Schlafly on Fox News.

Every American should know about this, but it is a safe bet that many do not. Thank our government and the media for that, including Fox.

THE HIGHWAY
Not much to disagree with in these posts.

Integration with the rest of North America has been addressed as far as Mexico is concerned; what of our northern neighbors? How much influence will canadians have on U.S. culture? Just think, we could be like them. We too could have state sanctiond homosexual "marriages", a navy which can't patrol it's own shores, a fully integrated bi-(tri?)-lingual government, a 15%(!) national sales tax. If we follow their way we can give up our second amendment rights and enjoy a third rate health care system. The Canadians will not give up their socialist ways with cofiscatory taxes and regulations designed to destroy enterprise.

Apologies to AudiR10; who the hell needs this?

THE HIGHWAY II
I forgot to mention that we have learned to be wary of 'compassionate' conservatives, nes pas?

These next two years
are going to be long, and all I can see at the end of 'em is McCain's face. God help us. Who can we vote for that will set things aright? I'd write my senator, but for some reason I don't think Mel Martinez will see things my way. (Come to think of it, didn't Bush handpick Mel to be his Florida man?)

rancid globalization
Thank you for writing this eye opening column. I agree with all of the comments especially the one where the word nauseating is included.

I do not understand why being an American and being proud of that is such a bad thing that our government must work diligently to destroy everything that stands for. The European Union is a shining example of how this just doesn't work. It absolutely sickens me that our country has already been invaded by illegal aliens and the intent is to just throw open the door for them completely.

She has written about this before
AND it's been written up at WorldNetDaily.

And, short of a full on grassroots WAR, like that mentioned by bountyhunter, there doesn't seem to be much we can do about it.

EVEN when bush DOESN'T have the power (by the Constitution) to make treaties. Because this IS NOT a treaty. Nice dodge that!

The only comfort I can think of is this:
They intend to start next year, 2007. Even if they use Mexican labor, I just can't imagine that it could be done in less than 5 years. There is a presidental election coming up in between...Bush CAN NOT serve again... (even before mention of this, I would NOT think of Jeb or even Pop running/winning)... so we have to elect someone who WILL TEAR IT DOWN.

NAFTA highway
Thanks to Phyllis Schlafly for telling the truth about the NAFTA superhighway. And thanks to the
neoCON artists and other alleged conservatives, we are moving ever closer to the "new world order" proclaimed by the first President Bush. The allegedly more conservative "W" doesn't use that phrase, but he pursues the same goal. Read it and weep, "conservatives."

Now It Is Our Turn
Phyllis has been presenting us with continuing evidence that there is an American Union similar to the European Union that is beginning to form on our soil. This union, if left to gestate, will eventually usurp the Constitution of the Unites States under which we have lived and prospered for 2 plus centuries. It is being done under the radar of society because the MSM has chosen to be silent about it. Even the conservative side of journalism has mostly ignored it because there is too much else to discuss and combat with the liberal opponent. Hence, this cancer is going unnoticed and is continuing to spread.

For those of us with the time and attention to comment on this page, is anybody listening to us? Has anybody taken steps to communicate their concerns to their elected representatives? Does it not make reasonable sense that this is the reason W is silent about securing our borders?

Unless it has escaped our notice, there is a Take Action button at the top of this page that can be used to contact our representatives in Congress. Those of us living in Red states would be wise to avail ourselves of that service. Those unfortunate to live in a Blue state, using this facility to flood your representatives with your concerns and outrage will help them understand that the rank and file in your area are not exactly interested in living in a Union. This nation was born a Republic. Unless good men and women do nothing, all will be lost, not in our lifetimes, but surely in that of our children.

Our turn. Who else will click on that button?

Let the rant continue!!!
Precisely BECAUSE Bush wants the North American Union so badly, he does nothing about the borders. With the ongoing flood of illegals across our southern border, there will soon be NO way to undo the damage and the borders will have been erased in fact, not theory.

Meanwhile, people from the Middle East are training in camps deep in Paraguay, learning Spanish and coming north, paying $50,000 a pop to the coyote who takes them across the border. There were several at the rally in front of the Houston Courthouse on Aug. 16, for the House Hearings, and they were in the Rent-a-Crowd of Latinos. We caught one on tape. http://www.gunnhild.com/distribution/Aug_16_2006-Houston_Courthouse_Rally/Aug16-2006-Houston_Courthouse-Ahmadinejad-sighting.wmv

So President Bush sends National Guardsmen to the border *without weapons* to free up agents for Border Patrol duty, and then assigns Border Patrol Agents to guard the Guard! Who's the fool?

He runs around the world telling people that they have the right to protect their borders while our own borders are a dog and pony show. THEN he gets his buddy Atty. Gen. Gonzales to A.) shackle the Border Patrol in various ways and B.) prosecute the guys who take their jobs seriously, like Ramos and Compean, accepting the word of a drug smuggler against the Agents. Also worth noting is that some of the top-ranking men in the Border Patrol have been a thorn in the sides of REAL Border Patrol agants for a long time.

AND his buddy Gov. Rick Perry has ram-rodded the Trans-Texas Corridor down our throats because he is the lap-dog of Pres. Bush. SPP and the North American Union will NOT work without it. It is Alamo time once again.

American politics has become a mirror image of Mexico's politics, with corruption running unfettered from top to bottom, and the Constitution is "Just a piece of paper" if not in theory, certainly in practice.

We have got to take this country back in November or lose what was won at such high cost in the American Revolution.

Did I mention I live in Texas?

For Floose
Although I can't speak for anyone else, I have been writing my congresspeople, House and Senate, for YEARS. Writing letters, telephoning, emailing and faxed letters.

If you haven't been at this for long, let me tell you how it USUALLY goes. I write a letter to my senators. I get back two replies. One thanks me for agreeing with him (I DID NOT.) The other tells me that he voted for the bill I have requested. (WHEN IN FACT, HE DID NOT.)

Second pile of letters goes out. Again, they thank me for my concern but point out that it is 'unrealistic' to try to deport 15 - 20 M aliens. (No where in my letter did I say one word about deportation - just fencing.)

And those are ONLY the senators. Get the point?

BUT WILL THESE THINGS EVER STOP ME? NO WAY.

NAC
I for one am very leary about this contract between the 3 countries without permission from the people. Bush I feel has overstepped his authority. Only dictators can do something like this without the publics approval, we have a Constitution which our government seems to forget about but remembers when it is convenient. Someone needs to void this treaty NOW - that is why Bush does not want a secured border. Our house and senate need to see the treaty and put it before the public. We the people - remember.

Get ready
Anyone here that does any blue collar job should take heed: You will be insourced. Truck drivers, nurses, construction workers, dock workers, etc. This highway will make the port cities of the USA obsolete.

Get ready for the Banana Republic of America. It's coming. Maybe Bush will be happy when drug gangs rule the entire continent. Have you seen the MS-13 gang videos in California? It's coming to your town, ese. Time to move.

Wake Up
Wake up folks. This has been in the works with every President since Gerald Ford. I wouldn't be surprised if he signed off as well.

The agenda in the USA has not been set by the 'people' since sometime prior to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. WAKE UP. It's way too late to debate this.

Have hope.
Every generation has it's battles where heroes are made, and people can take a stand.

I am encouraged that you all are writing and are concerned.

All is not lost.

If there was ever a time to be active, and to pray for the United States, it is now.

Phyllis is doing her part, and we all need to continue to do our part.

Our children are counting on us.

GLOBALISM, BAH HUMBUG
I AM ASTOUNDED THAT SO MANY IN POSITIONS OF LEADERSHIP ARE PROFESSING WHAT MANY OF US CONSIDER AN INTRUSION OF OUR SOVERIGNTY AND UNMITIGATED DESTRUCTION OF OUR VALUES AND TRADITIONS. I AM OF THE MIND WE ARE BEING SOLD OUT, MANIPULATED AND SET UPON FOR NOTHING MORE THAN EXTREMELY GREEDY PURPOSES.

WE ARE WITHOUT DOUBT THE MOST VIBRANT NATION IN THE WORLD AND THESE PEOPLE SEEM TO THINK THAT AFTER TWO HUNDRED YEARS OF PROSPERITY AND MAKING THE WORLD SAFER OR DEFENDING THE IDEALS OF LIBERTY WE ARE AT END, SO WRONG ON ALL COUNTS ARE THESE LEADERS THAT WE MAY DEAL WITH THEM IN A WAY AS HAS NOT BEEN DONE, WE MAY PHYSICALLY REINSTATE THIS COUNTRY BY PROCLAIMING THE CONSTITUTION TO BE ALIVE AND WELL AND REPLACING OR REDUCING THEIR EFFECTIVE POSITIONS.

BY DOING SO I CAN ONLY SAY IT WILL TAKE COURAGE, A BELIEF IN YOUR FOUNDING FATHERS AND IRON WILL, MY OTHER HOPE IS THAT IT WILL BW AS BLOODLESS AS THE DAY TO DAY REVOLUTIONS THAT TAKE PLACE ON OUR SOIL.

LH

The GOP sellout of America
Mrs. Schlafly is 100% correct and Eagle Forum has been at the forefront of exposing the GOP's determination to move us toward global governance under UN rule. This won't bode well with conservatives who are increasingly becoming aware that the Republicans they voted for are traitors. It's extremely difficult being a small government constitutional conservative without a political party.

As much as I despise the liberals, I am finding that the shadow Bush regime is no better. Maybe we will have to lose if we are to win.

As a Texan, we are living with the Rick Perry NAFTA Highway. While other states have reacted to Kelo by passing constitutional amendments, the GOP controlled TX legislature refused because it wants Kelo to condemn property for the NAFTA Highway. If we can't stop the TTC in Texas, God help this nation. Look forward to Kofi-cup and his gang of thug third world blue helmets to rule us.

Also, Sen. Cornyn introduced the North American Investment Act, which is no more than a massive transfer of taxpayer dollars to Mexico to build more roads and infrastructure. Had it not been for worldnetdaily.com exposing Cornyn for the fraud that he is, this legislative would still be active but thanks to WND, Cornyn is now disowning his own NAU bill.

Congress is equally supportive of the North American Union. Why else would they pass the open border abomination called S. 2611?

Tancredo for President!

I voted for Bush and I never thought I would hear myself say it but I hope the GOP loses the House and Bush is impeached. I can't recall a more arrogant and secretive Adm. than the CFR/UN controlled Bushies. We have been betrayed.

The world ends tomorrow
The world, according to Schlafly, will cease to exist soon (o.k., maybe NOT tomorrow) because of the information provided by Miguel Pickard, cerainly not an objective investigator.

I've worked in surface transportation for a number of years on both the Canadian and Mexican borders and never heard any indication whatsoever of what Pickard's "investigation" revealed.

Schlafly's breathless article implies that the borders will disappear. No, they won't. The battle is about bureaucracies (Mex, Canuck & Yank), not about sovereignty.

I'd suggest you all should take Pickard and Schlafly with a large grain of salt, imported or domestic.

Destruction & Disconnect
This is just further evidence of the continued destruction of American sovereignty, and the disconnect between our elected officials and the American voters who put them there. Take a good look around, folks, because you won't recognize your own country 20 years from now. Sorry, I'm ready to pull the pin and stop caring.
