Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Okay now… take a deep breath, retract the sharp utensils and let the crimson veil subside. I have a few things to say and it would be best to let me live long enough to make my point.

When I heard of Senator McCain’s pick for Vice President, it took me about six minutes to find out that Governor Sarah Palin has a general philosophy about government that coincides with my own, and that she owns a tough leadership style that leads to accomplishment. My initial reaction was a sense of approval.

Yes, I did know during the entire six minutes that Gov. Palin is a woman, but that did not factor into the initial approval equation. I have dealt with and resolved questions in my mind long ago about the ability of women to lead, and it is clear to me that gender in leadership has little to do with anything.

Prime Minister Thatcher, Ambassador Kirkpatrick, and Secretary Rice have proven this beyond a reasonable doubt for me. Janet Reno and Madeleine Albright have proven that women can be just as incompetent as any man in government as well.

The thought process of some women, after hearing of Sarah Palin’s selection to be McCain’s running mate, seems to argue on the side of the sexist attitudes they would portend to resist.

In a New York Times article, we read this…

“Some Clinton stalwarts took offense, saying they felt as if Mr. McCain had decided that, for women disappointed that they could not vote for Mrs. Clinton, any woman would do. 'It’s an insult,' said Jan Roller, a Clinton delegate from Cleveland, as she arrived home from the convention. 'You have to be qualified for the job.'"

And this…

“So I was very disappointed” to learn of Mr. McCain’s choice, Mrs. Pace said Friday, hours after the selection of Ms. Palin was announced. “No one in my office has any idea about her, and the only comment I’m hearing, which is not good, is that ‘she’s a woman and that’s why she was picked.’”

…which further leads me to the natural conclusion that women are every bit as capable of being bone-heads as are men. I may be bold enough to say that this attitude borders on being moronic and utterly offensive.

What we have in Gov. Sarah Palin is a born leader. She is sensitive and respectful of America’s conservative roots and of the sacred foundation upon which a society flourishes, the family.

Governor Palin understands the importance of this country’s natural resources and how to preserve the natural beauty while simultaneously using resources that we are fortunate to have. She knows the difference between government serving people and people in servitude to government. Sarah Palin has a full load of common sense and she is not afraid to use it. This is a quality that has reached levels of extinction in Washington D.C., especially evident amongst the parasitical career politicians and bureaucrats that infest the federal government.

So, let me express myself clearly to those who would vote on the basis of gender. The fact that gender even has a check-box next to it on your list of pros and cons makes you a bone-head to begin with. The fact that you would not vote for McCain, because you believe that the Republicans are trying to “trick” you makes you an extra-thick bone-head.

Liberal-afflicted black Americans have been so bone-headed to say that Justice Clarence Thomas and Secretary Condi Rice are not really black because they hold conservative, common-sense, America-first views. I suppose it should not be a surprise to hear that liberal-addled minds believe Sarah Palin is not really a woman.

Governor Sarah Palin is a woman, but she is first and foremost an experienced, proven leader at the executive level of government. She will not stand for corruption, and she will not be beholden to narrow interests, special or otherwise. And yes, that includes the lobby for Unfettered Repro-Destructive Rights of women, that most preeminent cancer on the butt of our social conscience.

There is not a moment’s hesitation on my part regarding the prospect of Sarah Palin taking the reigns of power. If a President McCain were to be stricken for some reason, I would take immense comfort from watching Vice President Palin take the oath according to our Constitution.

If you are inclined to reject the McCain-Palin ticket, on the basis of a woman’s right to have children suctioned from the womb into a jar of bloody goo, then you are beyond hope. Philosophical political disagreements drive our representative system of government. A bone-headed, gender-blinded (not gender-blind) devotion to infanticide threatens to drag us all into the pit, and I have no respect for that whatsoever.

Sarah... the Gift that Keeps on Giving
Wow! I am so excited to see conservatives stand up and FIGHT... For too long we have been the polite, quiet, smart kid in the corner letting the Left wing shout us down. We have found our voice and are shouting what we believe. (Even Bill Bennett is shouting and taking on CNN!) Yes, we believe women and minorities and men and white people should be judged by their ACTIONS not words. We believe young people can control their behavior - but if they don't we'll love them anyway... and we believe a woman's rights aren't limited to having her children "suctioned from the womb into a jar of bloody goo" Wow! Stand Up and Cheer - we've woken the sleeping tiger... conservatives have found something to fight for.

It's hardly a women's issue
They behave the way they do because sex doesn’t matter, and ideology is everything. Recall the so-called women’s leaders who exercised their “leadership” capacity in leading the campaign to destroy any woman who came forth to document Bill Clinton’s untoward behavior.

Being a woman of accomplishment is great to them, but only if you’re a left-wing woman – and only if you’re useful in advancing the cause. Has there, theoretically, ever been a better role model for these people than Hillary? Yet when they saw that she would have a difficult time winning a general election, it was time to throw momma from the train.

The venom being hurled at Gov. Palin is hardly surprising. As usual, though, it will only poison the ones who spew it.

To the bulwarks, defend Bristol

from the Democrat hypocrites who pretend Bristol is the only girl who ever became pregnant before her marriage ceremony. F'in hypocrite Democrats.

These attacks on Bristol are showing the true nature of Obama's campaign. Throw everything good out the door if it means victory. Of course if you have already thrown all of the good out the door, then only the bad is victorious.

Palin NOT as Experienced as Obama?

Sarah Palin DOESN'T even have the experience as a 'Community Organizer' like Obama.

Sarah Palin has NO plagiarism experience like Joe Biden.

Sarah Palin NEVER even fulfilled any kind of quota like Michelle and Barack.

This woman doesn't represent 'The American Woman', she didn't even allow her babies to die in a dirty hospital utility room, crying in terror and all alone.

We have not heard Sarah Palin say "um", "uh", "ahh" or "er" once, how could she possibly communicate with Obama followers?

Sarah Palin was pictured with a gun and a soldier. Need anyone say more about her lack of Patriotisim?

Sarah Palin even visited the wounded troops in Germany, Barack Obama shopped instead to show his solidarity with 'The People'.

DCortez
Who cares about the HRC voters? My wife and I sure don't. McCain's pick motivated my family to make it's first ever campaign contributions. Energizing the base > HRC femi-nazi kool-aid drinkers.

It's a PRESIDENTIAL election!
We are still stuck with McCain. Wake up you nose-holders. There may be two candidates running but there is only one agenda: one-world globalism where the dictates of fighting global warming trump constitutions and national sovereignty. If electing Obama means the end of civilization, so does the election of McCain.

Vote Bob Barr. Help shut down the one-party system. Palin just boarded the GOP Titanic.

Palin
Palin is extremely well qualified in Life
and in politics.

Her heart and work ethic trump anything
or anyone the Democrats and the minions
(Big Media)can throw at her

Shes tough and she will survive

Qualified, shamalified...
To those who think you have to have Washington experience to lead:...LOOK AT WASHINGTON RIGHT NOW!!!! It's a mess!

Look at Palin's character; her common-sense ability (as opposed to the 'elite's pedigree) to see the problem, and solve it. It is more like what the Founding Fathers had in mind to lead. I would trust Sarah in a heartbeat; and not because it is racing because she is smoking hot...but becaust it is racing because she is hard-core Reagan conservative. And she is REAL.

Oh...and for the Bob Barr pick; If you vote for him, you may end up with Obama as President. THAT is stupidity...He will NOT get even a close majority; but it is frankly too dangerous in this cycle to go third-party. Obama gets in; and in four years the Constitution will be changed and bypassed beyond repair. Count on it.

They couldn't stoop much lower
I know! Listen to that garbage. "She's a woman, so she couldn't have come by it honestly."

Not only that, she's a BAD mother because her daughter got pregnant, and she should be at HOME with her small child! The Dems are condemning and attacking an awful lot of Americans when they say these horrible things. Give them more line, I say!

The FACT remains that if gas prices go up one tiny bit this season, Sarah Barracuda will be waiting in the wings.

leftist Democrat hypocrisy

How do you define a hypocrite?

You see the feminists given what they always clamor for; responsibility in high office. Not just a nominal role; a footstep from the presidency, should misfortune overtake our elected president.

Are America's Feminazis exuberant and elated?

No; and the only reason why they aren't is abortion on demand!

Sarah Palin is PRO-LIFE. They feel no sisterhood in this relationship with a vice presidential contender; they feel threatened. They've devoted lifetimes to guarding Roe-Wade from the "religious right."

This woman is against their holiest sacrament, abortion rights. That is patently the ONLY and the MAIN reason they'll try to the bitter end to destroy Sarah Palin. It comes cloaked in this phony argument over "experience," but they can't fool ordinary Americans.

On the one hand their wonderful charismatic rock-star abortion enabler. His fate now depends on smearing and knocking this WOMAN ! So much for the feminists of 2008. They sell out one of their own gender, an unbelievable bright specimen; for the right to destroy human life in the womb!

Democrats are truly shameless, arguing over "experience." WE KNOW it's all about ABORTION /

Why Sarah?
Take a look at who was on the super-short list. Pawlenty - safe, boring, boat anchor. Romney - rich white guy.

I believe Palin answered a great number of needs for the McCain campaign, her gender being lower on the list than several others. Other qualifiers: Appeal to the party base, bring something new to the table (not a Washington insider), ability to connect with real Americans, a track record of making things happen instead of just talking about them, and someone who would bring mid-Western sensibilities (which might be the same as reaching the party base, might not). The fact that she's a "she" is a nice bonus.

To claim that she was picked solely, or even primarily, on her gender is disingenuine and (I think) insulting.

Here is the typical Vomit
supporter after Palin was nominated for the VP Ticket.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,415021,00.html

Sara Palin
Sara Barracuda will rip the Marxist entrails out of Obama and Biden. I just hope there is a huge, mulit-national audience watching when she does it. While she is a common sense, real-world woman, she has already exibited more principle, resolve and toughness than either of the wimps on the Democrat ticked.

Lefties are too filled with hate to
realize that their vitriol against Governor Palin and her family is just going to backfire, and create stronger support for the Veep hopeful.

Perhaps these Leftie elitist feminazis work all day, and have never stayed home to watch daytime TV, geared toward blue collar middle class women.

Oprah, Jerry Springer, Dr. Phil, Tyra Banks, and even the ubiquitous mock courtroom shows are all fixated on young women who have babies outside of wedlock. These girls are seen as sympathetic by the Oprah set, and this wolf pack mentality is only going to make these soft-hearted women stand up for the Palin family to defend them against the onslaught.

McCain/Palin is a winning
ticket and and Obama/Biden has just become a boring ticket of the same-old/same old - two Washington D.C cronies.

McCain outsmarted the MSM and the dumbocrats.

number 44
If you snooze you lose.If you dont vote you give up your right to whine about things going on in gov. that you dont like. So does that mean we wont have to read your trippe in here anymore? I sure hope.

number44
idiot

No 44
Can you tell me Thatcher's political resume' before becoming prime Minister? Jeane Kirkpatrick was an ambassador and presidential adviser. Don't get me wrong, I'd vote for either one today. (Even though Kirkpatrick was a democrat) But to say they have long resumes is not true. Neither one had executive experience until they held their last posts.

RE. "Retired Geek" 11:15am
jocularity, jocularity...

AND THE PUBLIC HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW :

HAS PALIN EVER BOWLED A 37 ?!?!

Compare/Contrast
Palins' accomplishments magnify Senator Obama's lack of them. Dems sexism magnifies why the Obama/Biden ticket is terrible for America. Once the mob attacks began, observers were forced to look at why such tactics were needed against an opponent purported to be so unqualified. What becomes clear is that Barack's limited to campaigner experience (which BTW, Palin has formidable statewide campaign experience) simply cannot stand up to the long list of accomplishments that follows Governor Palin in her public service.

This election is not limited to women. All voting Americans are deciding what they believe is best for this great country.

answer another one, #44

Is it important whom you shall and whom you won't vote for in this election?

You and a few others around us make up the malevolent party vote. You ought to nominate Sean Penn for your figurehead loser.

Number 44
You say that Sarah Palin has "barely" more experience than Obama. Oh? How many Senators or governors actually have or need, say, foreign relations experience before elevation to their respective offices? NONE-but still they get elected or at least nominated for POTUS and the Veep.

Sarah Palin had been in elected office for five years before Obama was even on the political scene.

She, as Governor, is the CiC of Alaska's National Guard unit. That unit, BTW, is the ONLY one in the country that is on permanent ACTIVE duty. Think ye that might have something to do with Russia's being only 54 miles away from the farthest Aleutian island? Yet there she is, in charge of it all, and over 80% of the Alaskans think she's done just fine. Nobody gets that kind of polling unless s/he has actually accomplished something. Under her governance, a natural gas pipeline is being built to supply the lower 48. What has Obama ever built? He couldn't even buy his own home without help from a convicted felon!

I think McCain has nicely checkmated the Democrats on this one, and the election is his to lose.

number 44
Thanks for full disclosure of your IQ so that we can make allowances for the idiocy of your posts. However, since you have chosen to swim in the deep waters of a conservative website, you should expect to swallow a few mouthfuls of water. How can anyone with even a few functioning cerebral neurons cavil about the experience of Sara Palin when Barack Obama can only point to a stint as a party-hack state senator, a US senator who votes "present" almost exclusively, a man who has yet to make even one, even one, executive decision in public office? I'm sorry. I forgot your mental retardation. It's OK man. Just remember to look both ways.

number 44
TedSmug! I like that! Now let me tell you that a rightly principled person can navigate successfully sans experience by the very strength of their guiding principles. Sara Palin's principles are transcendent. Obama/Biden do not have that. To wit Obama says that abortion is the remedy for the unwanted pregnancy of his daughters. You said that being a mayor of a small town disqualifies her to be president. Read your own post. Talk about a logical fallacy! Non sequitur.

forty-four
Sweetie, it's past your bedtime and you are not making any sense. Get some sleep and try again tomorrow.

You are actually saying that because Washington is corrupt, good people should trash principles and stay in their safe zones? Really? What about David v. Goliath? How about the Little Engine That Could?

Sheesh! With the power of the people McCain/Palin CAN CHANGE things! Have just a small amount of faith---and VOTE.

serve that man some crow
Number 44 thinks: "as a result of [my] experience, I would never consider elevating a small town mayor to the Presidency. PERIOD."

Is that a fact? You don't have to. Your experience means nothing.

I suppose you've governed a nation of 300 million? You've planned and executed domestic and foreign policy? You've won an election for dog catcher?

Until you have done those things, leave decisions like choosing a running-mate on the real candidate's worksheet. Cast your OWN vote anywhere you wish to. After seeing how things turned out, cry me a river. Or eat some crow.

Phil Harris
"“No one in my office has any idea about her, and the only comment I’m hearing, which is not good, is that ‘she’s a woman and that’s why she was picked.’”

****
This is exactly my experience and I am afraid I
agree with it also. So call me a bone head also,
if it makes you feel better.

First of all, for whatever else she may bring
to the table, I would bet the family farm that
she was picked because she is a woman and for
the very reason of picking up the disgruntled
Hillary voters.

And I would suggest to you that if you think
that this "attitude borders on being moronic and utterly offensive" that you need a different profession.

palin
STEVE---I fullheartly agree with Paul Harris and you would do well to think about what you printed--Many people that know you will certainly realize what a bonehead you really are.

I assume that you are a nobama and hilly person--if not I apologize--it's hard to realize that you could be that stupid.

Feminism
Women won the right to be recognized 35 years ago. Since then I have never thought of myself as anything less than human, and when I go up against another person in any way, I don't see myself as a gender, rather I use my brain to support my stance. I am embarrassed by the weak, uninformed, jealous, socialist and unAmerican women that have voiced a negative stance against Palin. She is the ultimate woman and will make accountability a force to be feared. I am proud to stand behind her and all that she represents. By the way, why are so many women screaming about the abortion rights on record? Aren't many of our lost youngsters having illegitmate babies and hopping on the welfare bandwagon? I doubt her daughter will take the easy way out.

Not ready for prime time
You'll read only a few like Harris who thinks Palin would be capable of serving as the most powerful person in the world, but it's hard to talk to someone in person who thinks so. I can't find these people.

Ask Pat Buchanon what he thinks. I think he's a loon, but his made himself very clear *before* Palin was picked -- he cannot imagine her as a VP or Prez. He was laughing at the decision.

Oh wait. Buchanon now thinks she would be a marvelous VP or P. Nevermind. Some Liberal geek must have dubbed those awful words into Buchanon and Scarboro's actual praise.

Get real. Gender doesn't matter, so try to imagine that McCain picked some other fisher from a small town in AK.

they weren't objecting

The imbeciles weren't upset after the White House fell to a horndog mendicant from Little Rock Arkansas. As we recall, that state was nowhere in radar range of producing presidents, yet Bubba put it on the map. (With the tweaks of Newt Gingrich and his *Contract With America.*

My perception of Alaska is well disposed as compared to Arkansas. Arkansas has its razorback hogs, Alaska its wolverines and Polar Bears.

If Arkansas can win, Alaska won't fail.

Go McCain-Palin, come November!

Listen to Newt
For those of who just cannot fathom the idea that Gov. Palin was a good choice, this puts it precisely in the proper perspective. Who would be President vs. Who would be Vice President on day one, post election. We WILL have one or the other... Obama as President, OR, Palin as Vice President.

To Steve in IL

Among other things, you say:

". . . whatever else she may bring
to the table, I would bet . . . [Sarah Palin] was picked because she is a woman [for somehow] picking up disgruntled Hillary voters."

REPL:

You seem to think this is duplicitous, wrong for our country or off-the-wall.

I don't see why. McCain isn't pandering to women. He tries to bolster his ticket this way; a reasonable strategy. But he hasn't gone for a DC insider or a name candidate; much less proven losers like Huckabee and Romney. He gave the GOP a conservative, to satisfy those who were persecuting him personally over what they deemed liberalism. HE-- a Reagan Republican!

Now how can they squawk? Oh, yeah-- the border.

OK; take a look at the party platform, then. It ought to calm the fears of our Mexico-bashers.

More important, Mac singles out a promising maverick. He won't let the White House fall into the wrong hands, should God call him from this life in the shorter term. We'll see what a strong woman can do. Is she another Maggie Thatcher? I really think so. It remains to be seen. We still have new presidential elections every four years; in case we get disillusioned. Let her fight for re-election someday. But at least women of good will can hope once more.

.

Anti-GOP Trolls
Look closely at the comments in this and other threads. What you will find is a messy trail of anti-Republican troll footprints. I guess they can't help themselves. Instead of just posting their opinion and calling it good, they scrurry all over and leave their muck on everything.

Worshipers of Ron Paul and the other 3rd party hanger-ons have decided to extricate themselves from the two Party system... so why they find it prudent to tromp around in places that are irrelevent to them is a mystery.

Maybe they don't really believe in the 3rd Party idea after all. Gee... maybe they should have stayed with the major Parties instead, where their voice could have a chance in hell of making a difference.

3rd Party trolls advocate for nothing at all, and their protestations to the contrary are just noise and static. But no doubt, a troll will find it irresistable to leave yet another trail of muck in response.
