Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Our ability to stop the federal government from spending us, our children, our grandchildren and our great grandchildren into poverty appears inadequate. For most of the last five decades, the federal boys have spent out of control.

Today? Only more so.

Even worse, this main course of debt and diminished economic freedom invariably comes with a side-helping of reduced political rights.

Am I too pessimistic? In other contexts, a friend calls me a pathological optimist. But reality is reality . . . and solving a problem usually requires recognizing it first.

The problem isn't simply that President Barack Obama is a recurring nightmare, a mere 82 days into his administration. Ranting about Obama and the Democrats, however thoroughly justified, should not obscure the hard, cold fact that this very same big government mentality dominated a government wholly captured by Republicans.

There is nothing partisan about our predicament.

And there is always hope, because there are so many committed and courageous freedom-loving Americans, as I regularly report to readers of my Common Sense e-letter. Somehow, we'll find a way to save our Republic, to restore our liberty to breathe the sweet air of this land into our lungs and then, also, to exhale.

(This is not merely vague, lofty rhetoric. Our government has already determined that we are "polluting" the planet by breathing out carbon dioxide . . . something I've grown quite fond of doing. No telling how long we'll be permitted to exhale.)

One easy step we can all take is to attend a Tea Party this Wednesday, April 15. Look for one in your area and take the time off work to go. Your country needs you.

Still, one day's expression of righteous outrage -- or even many such expressions and days -- will not win the battle against such powerful forces wealthy with our money. We need a strategy.

Even though the most expensive and serious violations of common sense and constitutional law emanate from the federal leviathan, we don't possess the power or the process to quickly improve the people's influence in Washington. The bulk of politicians of both parties are corrupt -- if not criminally then at least intellectually -- and the parties wholly captured by a cabal of special interests. Congressional elections consistently offer us no better choice than between Tweedlebum and Tweedlevil.

That's why we must focus our political energy at the state and local level. There we find politicians at least closer to home geographically, if not always in sentiment.

Let's not remain naive. Most state legislators and local politicians are barely more interested in representing the average citizen or upholding their constitutional duties than the shysters in Congress. But we are certainly better able to engage them. To educate them. To confront them. To replace them.

And to get around them, when necessary.

At the state and local level, most Americans have access to the processes of voter-initiated ballot measures, referendums and recalls. We can implement directly what victorious candidate after turncoat officeholder has refused to implement.

Incidentally, the constant attacks on the voter initiative process and the successful reforms enacted by the voter initiative are not unrelated. The forces of big government have been relentless in restricting the process and vicious in attacking those who use it. They know what I know: Empowered citizens are the only real threat to big government.

If we are to retake Washington, we must first take our state capitols and local councils. It is close to home that we voters have the most leverage, and we need our local and state governments as allies in restoring citizen control of the federal government.

Re-elect
NO ONE! Throw all of the bums out especially if they are a lawyer.

Yeah
it would be nice to keep the few good ones, the patriots which probably can be counted on one hand and none in the DemonRAT party.

Lets see what happens after the Tea Parties on Wed., I hope they continue because there will be politicians who will be scared silly they will lose their cushy jobs and perks in the next election. And I think there will be so many angry Americans voting to throw the bums out, O's hired ACORN goons won't make much of a difference no matter how many dead people they dig up. I am fed up with the corruption that's been rampant from the lowest office to the
highest. Since the DemonRATS are guilty of
this treachery, I ask are there any honest DemonRATS in elective office? Nope, can't be honest and be for baby killing.

Tea Party
The tea party is only step one...
Step two, drive the "DemonRat" media out of business...
Step three, Restore our education system...

Joel
"Any elected, appointed, or hired official that has voted or acted contrary to the provisions of the Constitution will be found guilty."

That would be all of them, with the sole exception of Ron Paul.

Jesus is Risen - He is Alive

Hallelujah, "He is risen!"
Jesus is gone up on high!
Burst the bars of death asunder;
Angels shout, and men reply:
He is risen, He is risen,
Living now, no more to die.

Hallelujah He is risen!
Our exalted Head to be;
Sends the witness of the Spirit
That our Advocate is He:
He is risen, He is risen,
Justified in Him are we.

Hallelujah, He is risen!
Death for all has lost his sting;
Christ, Himself the Resurrection,
From the grave "His own" will bring:
He is risen, He is risen,
Living Lord and coming King.

oh Death Where Is Thy Sting,
grave, Where's Thy Victory,
in Three Days, The Stone Rolled Away.
stone Rolled Away,
an Empty Grave Proves What I Say,
he Lives Today.

Let's Plan More Parties
Along with a list of things to do to try and salvage the nation, we need to start demanding impeachment for judges who do not adhere to the Constitution, including the SCOTUS. Ginsberg has recently been yapping about applying foreign law to her decisions and this needs to be stopped. 'Activist' judges at every level need to be stopped from their activism, too. Today TEA Parties, tomorrow Constitution Parties, then we can move on to legal actions based on unconstitutional conduct by government; redistribution of wealth comes to mind. There is great strength in numbers and we need more Parties.

Joel
He did not say WE brought it on ourselves. He said that policies of the politicians in Washington angered the Muslims. A non-interventionist foreign policy is not the same as a weak foreign policy. A non-interventionist foreign policy was precisely what the Founding Fathers advocated.

No credibility
Kudos to the author for acknowledging that the spending took place under Republicans. But then why were there no tea parties when GWB and the Republicans were spending like crazy. More important why was the conservative movement save a few individuals not express concern let alone outrage when in power. In fact many of the individuals brave enought to stand on principals about the deficits, were often rediculed as disloyal to the Republican Majority.

Take the expiring of the Bush Tax Cuts, that was not put in place at the behest not of Democrats but of fiscal conservatives who agreed to go along with cutting taxes to stimulate the economy in a recession.

Many in the middle and the left are OK with an expanded role for government and even for moderate increases in taxes in exchange for services. But the Right opposes that idea and so should have been objecting vigously to the behavior of their Representatives, but know they were silent. Clinton should have been their hero, Bush their villian, but no.

You have to wonder if the born again fiscal conservative movement will flip once again on the issue should their be another conservative era?

BTW three of the five decades that she describes were the Reagan Era.

I am going to attend..
If for no other reason to see just how many other individuals like myself are fed up with living in the heart of a very blue state. I have lived here for thirty years and am sick of having only one party to chose any local politican from. The Democrats have totally dominated all levels of state and local government and yes, have totally screwed it up. I will be at the local T Party on April 15th to see my fellow patriots. Then the heavy lifting begins.

JMO51
You are quite correct; the Republicans are just as wasteful as Democrats. Neither party has a shred of credibility when they prattle on about fiscal responsibility. That's why I've never voted for a single Republican or Democrat since I began voting in 1988. I saw that neither Bush the elder or Dukakis was fit for any public office, much less the presidency, so I voted for Ron Paul, who was the Libertarian Candidate that year. Had he received the Republican nomination this time, I would have voted Republican for the first time. However, the Republican party and the MSM made sure he didn't get it. Given the choice between the co-author of the single most unconstitutional law in U.S. history and an inexperienced, economically illiterate, two-faced, race-baiting hypocrite, I once again went third party.

IN THE NEWS TODAY
It was reported that emergency rooms are now posting on their websites their estimated 'waiting' time to be seen and treated, like airlines do for their flights. If Socialized Medicine is enacted, when we go to the governments website to find out the 'waiting' time to be seen and treated, we will find out we have to wait til we get to Heaven, but only if we're fortunate enough to be admitted there.

Fear-Attack
I most generally have my TV on Fox Cable News, but the other day I flipped to CNBC and there were 2 women talking about the stupid tea parties.I don't know the hosts name but she is opposite ORiely, they were throwing mud and dirt on the tea parties. When the Left start attacking it is because of one reason FEAR.They don't like what they are hearing about MSPeople, disaproving of the admistration and the policies coming out of Congress. It is perfectly okay for the left to say hate ful things about President Bush the entire time he was in office, but if someone disagrees with the New President they are labeled racist. If they try to cause trouble at the tea parties they need to be exposed.

2nd Amendment
When the government fears the people, we will have liberty.....Thomas Jefferson

"Push Back Until"
Obviously, Mr. Jacobs has a point. But our type of government, where personal liberty and responsibility are supposed to be primary concerns, cannot exist when left to elected officials who have only one motive: please their constituents by spending someone else's money. So what are we to do? Look at what http://pushbackuntil.com proposes. Then, if you really care where your country is going, come to D.C. and make enough noise for Congress to really know that we have had enough of their fiscal irresponsibility. The battle has to be taken to the belly of the beast. Otherwise, TEA parties will not have any effect whatsoever. We start from the top (Federal) and work our way down (State, County, City). It is OUR government.

Deficit
Granted Bush is guilty in some of this, however the main problem started in 1998.Bush gave obama a 1 trillion dollar deficit. Now it is at 14 trillion racing toward 15.I would like someone to explain to me how anyone could get out of debt by spending more than you take in.

shorts
"More people will attend a 100 dollar a head for Britney Spears concert than all tea parties combined"

You are quite correct, and that is why America is doomed.

shorts.
That only proves that people in this country are ignorant. When you use false idols (celebrities) you are doomed to fail

ARE DEMOCRATS AMERICAN PATRIOTS?
Having voted for both Republican and Democratic Parties in my lifetime, I have always believed that all elected officials would govern for the best interest of our country. I woke up on November 5th and realized this is not the truth. Do the Elected Democrats truly believe the folloiwing:
1. Hugh deficits are a benefit to the future of our economy.
2. Spend money to solve every problem, (or conceived problem) in the USA.
3. Provide amnesty to 11 million illegal alliens.
4. Support late term abortions.
5. Reduce our military strength.
6. Appoint judges who disregard our constitution.
7. Turn the citizens against big business to justify nationalizing them.
8. Spend billions on an unproven science of global warming.
9. Denigrate the Christian faith of Americans.
10. Allow fraudulent ACORN to manipulate votes.

I guess the answer is YES to all of the above. The Democratic Party is no longer a party "OF THE PEOPLE" as President Andrew Jackson once said it was.

an old progrmr posted:
"We have no George Soros,
we have no ACORN,
we have no army of dedicated
Community organizers,
we have no well organized groups of
lawyers and judges,
we have no millions of Union members,
we do not control the major media,
we do not have any meaningful presence
in the public education system,
we don't have a cadre of illegal aliens.
We have no effective organization to combat the growing power of the radical left.
Tea parties, gun purchases, hysterical rants on these boards, talk radio, etc., etc.
is merely spitting in the wind while the
well organized, well funded radical left marches forward in the face of no effective opposition.

Only when the bulk of the
American people begin to experience
in daily life the misery delivered by tyrannical socialism will the left begin
to experience any opposition.
This will take several election cycles - let's hope it is not too late for
my children and grandchildren."

Bring Video Cameras to the Tea Party
Be prepared to document any provocation and thuggery by Obama operatives. ACORN has become the Obama-Emanuel equivalent of Hitler's Brown Shirts. This is a dangerous government.

You were were warned during 2008 election, America, and now you must deal with the consequences. It is incumbent upon every real American to take back the country.

WAKE UP, AMERICA, OR DIE IN YOUR SLEEP!!

JMO51
First, one must grasp the scale of the Obama spending vs the Bush spending. That alone is sufficient to answer your question of why there were no Tea Parties for Bush. Second, IIRC the conservative wing of the Repbulican party virtually abandoned Bush on his domestic agenda largely because of the amount of spending. It caused McCain to lose and the party to become a minority party.
So, you can't say conservatives are being simple minded partisans on spending. That ignores the historic facts of the matter.

SHORTS: 6,000 angry, armed Patriots are a match for 600,000 Brittany fans. There is more brain power and braun power in people like us. Besides, those are mostly kids.

Chord
Maybe we should use the Bush doctrine of preemptive strike instead of waiting that long.

Tea Parties, Phase II
The tea parties scheduled for April 15th have the left in a snit. They are determined to disrupt our momentum, we must not allow them to turn this movement into a confrontation with activist types financed by ACORN et al. Stay strong, stay on message.

Also, I propose an idea for what comes after April 15th on my blog, it is a look forward to the 4th of July. If you want to read more, click on my name to read my latest post "End Dependence Day."

Para:
That was a quote from old progrmr.
I don't think we have that long either.

I personally think it is a race to the bottom:
What will happen first?

A. They will destroy the dollar, economy and
our way of life, arousing the populace?

B. They will create and deploy the
"National Civilian Security Force"
and seize complete control of all dissent.

C. The unforeseen, unintended consequences
of reality overtake us all.

Wednesday we'll know.

Over the past few weeks, quite a few have been doing a lot of whining and complaining.

And others have worked dilligently to try to convince us that it's either too late, or that none of this will make any difference.

But regardless, on this April 15th... we'll find out one thing for certain.

Exactly who among us care enough about their families... to AT LEAST bother to show up.

And if enough tea parties in enough of our big cities cause enough traffic jams, trust me... we WILL have the attention of the politicians, and also the rest of America.

So stand up and be counted... and pass the word.

Tea parties, April 15th... and beyond.

It sure ain't any too eloquent - -
- - to say that this Marxist exhibition is a total and absolute disaster, but, hey -- that's precisely what it is.
I fear that the Tea Parties will be a waste of time -- the media cheerleaders will ignore them in defense of their vested interests and socialist agenda (although just WHY they should want such crap is beyond me!!).
Sorry, gang, but I fear we're outvoted by the Something-for-Nothing bunch and the future Amnesty bills will spell a perpetual doom on our once great nation - - it will have flushed itself down the toilet, and candidly, I don't see the candidates, imagination, cojones, leadership (and imagination, AGAIN) to overturn any of the aforementioned garbage.
Thus, sorry to sound defeatist, but I think I'll just hang around our pool, maybe make another couple trips to CostaRica and Brazil -- then, if/when the markets improve sufficiently (?) sell out and seek the best tax-haven.
God knows, we're not rich, by any stretch -- but I'll be damned if I want to hang around and subsidize the narcissistic Obama regime.
For myself (or my much younger spouse) I don't worry any too much - - BUT, our kids? And their children?
It's pretty sick, and future futility sucks.
Soooo, if you want to refute, please - give it your best shot - - your witness....

Take back our goverment
I believe that a liberal or a conservative can not be happy with our goverment. It doesn't matter what side you stand with our present goverment does't respond to the wishes of the people. Our founding fathers wrote a Constitution and Bill of Rights that allows for changes. They are the perfect documents and I cringe whenever I hear anyone wanting to change anything about them. Our national goverment is the glue that keeps our 50 states together. How much goverment is needed is a personal preference of each citizen. Debate keeps things active and current. I don't always agree with my fellow "liberal" citizens but I always respect peaceful protest by our fellow citizens.

The real problem and solution
While Paul is right on all coounts he does not include the efforts of neocons and how they changed the party from the inside - the solution will eventually become one of electing statesmen and stateswomen who want to serve their nation instead of hunger for power and money. We need to take the incentives out through Ronald Regan's idea - get back to Federalism.

CAN THE PEOPLE RETAIN THE POWER?

.....I am doubtful since it is the people who vote these scoundrels into office and then keep re-electing them ...

.....This move to Socialism did not happen overnight ...It began with Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson under the banner of Progressivism ...the Politicians and the Judiciary have been circumventing the Constitution for a hundred years ...how are we supposed to change that without a revolution or at least National Civil Disobedience? .....COLOSSUS

TEA PARTY I WOULD LIKE TO SEE

.....A mass of humanity descends on DC and marches into a session of Congress ...all attending Senators and Congressmen are swooped up, carried to the Potomac and thrown in ...then the enterance to the Capital is blocked until a National recall election can be held and a second Constitutinal Congress installed .....COLOSSUS

Frost, 12:20 PM post.

Enjoy your pool.

Yeah, Scott from Illinois - -
- - God, I sure hope I'm wrong in that earlier appraisal/posting. I sure take no comfort in our kids' demise/suffocation under this Marxist filth.
The pool stuff will probably have to wait 'til tomorrow, though -- weather's lousy down here on the Gulf Coast today, thunderstorms.
Be well....

Koolmuse - - I read somewhere....
- - that drugs, and how to stop them -- the importation of drugs? Troops on the Border to stop import - Punish drug sellers - Coerced Drug Rehab, right?
Sounds good, but at least 80% of all drug OUT-patients fail to quit drugs... So, as it now stands, there are 4-Million drug-dependent people who are almost/kinda “terrorizing” another 320-or-so-million of us here in the USA. So, unless we do the Libertarian thing, and legalize drugs, take the profit out of the sales and the crime rates would drop drastically (as illegal sales prompt conflict, turf wars, etc.). Would cut the crime cartels mess in Mexico as well.
It’s far more than just the “Libertarian view” – you’re not going to change human behavior. And since we have Lost the War On Drugs... totally. Period. Let's Change Things - turn a loser into a potential money-maker.
Here’s the major point: If drugs were made legal, would “you” start taking them? Neither would I.

Part the second, koolmuse --
- - - again, seriously. IF DRUGS WERE MADE LEGAL, WOULD YOU START TAKING ‘EM? Nor would I.
So, we have well over a million people in jail, right? At $22-K minimum to keep them there = $27-BILLION. If we were to free those who are not a threat to the safety of others…? Think of the money we’d save! Hey, it’s tough to admit, but, again, we have Lost the “War on Drugs” – so, may as well turn it into a profitable enterprise. Think how much we could lower the National Debt if we were to legalize drugs (aside from really goofing up the crime industry). While we’re at it, might also legalize prostitution, Sports-Betting, and tax them too. Put the pimps and petty-criminals outta business. Then tax the huge number of income properties owned by churches which are, of course, presently tax-exempt. Can you say “Billions?” Many Billions?!?
Do all that and we’ll payoff the National Debt in no time. More? Want a surplus? Sell the 17% of land presently "owned" by the Federal Government, which shouldn’t be in the land-ownership business anyway! That is, unless you think the Marxist congress/administration and Washington bureaucrats know more about value and financial things than we “unwashed” do….
Again -- your witness...?

The Frost in Texas...

It's too bad that many people such as you think
the media must cover something for it to be important.
That is the true disarming of America.

The Tea Parties are not for the media,
they are for the people who go to them,
and for all us,
and whether the media cover them or not,
and cover them honestly or not,
believe me,
the politicians will know how big they were.

In fact, if they are NOT covered,
that will send a message also,
and those who are there and see
the crowds with their own eyes
will be even more sure how the media lies to us.

If you are in a cesspool up to your neck,
will you try to swim out, knowing it will make waves,
or try to float until help arrives?
And who will come?
The government that filled the cesspool?

Don't kid yourself.

Come back sometime and tell us how that
"sell out" thing is working for you.

So...

The Soros boiler room must have heard
of a dangerous conversation going on in this thread:
They sent a troll to hijack the thread
with a discussion on drugs, how nice.

And Frost is so eager to turn the
discussion away from his own post.

Are you a troll too, Frost?
We know the uncool mouse is.

Whose Fault Is It?
Typical of the less than educated, less than responsible citizens of our country, we blame the past the current Obama administration, the former Republican administration, the Clintons, HW Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Truman, Roosevelt, Hoover, ad nauseum for all that is wrong.

Yet we forget that it is us who elected all the governors, sentators, representatives and presidents to their offices.

"But we didn't have the choice we wanted" the whiners exclaim. "It's not my fault."

YOU ALL MAKE ME SICK...and I am sickened that I allowed this to happen to us in my time.

Just a lot of lofty and not so lofty words.

So when do we really act instead of blogging ourselves to boredom?

Hope you're right, chord -
- yet, although I've been the eternal optimist all my life, I think we're outnumbered, and permanently this time. I sure hope I'm wrong and you're right - - but this Narcissist-in-Chief and his Merry Marxists are scary. No, SCARY !!!
And with the influx of Illegals and no effort to stop 'em, it gets worse. And with the accomplices in the press?
Sure hope you're right....

Howard,
what do you suggest? I get sick of hearing what WE did that makes us responsible for the way things are now. I don't buy that for a minute.

Stop being sick and get specific. I didn't vote for Obama. The Republican Party betrayed it's base. The schools brainwashed a couple of generations into being ignorant enough to vote for this America hating, undercover Muslim in the Oval Office. So you tell me. What is your suggestion, aside from berating US?

Tea Party
"If My people which are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, AND TURN FROM THIER WICKED WAYS; THEN WILL I HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND.

II CHRONICLES 7-14

Citizens in Control
The same grossly incompetent and corrupt politicos who were complicit up to their eyeballs in the financial crisis are now going to fix that mess?!? And citizens are now gullible enough to allow these same miscreants to craft a sure abomination of a healthcare system?!? We can not let these bunglers and thieves loose on these crucially important problems unless we first “clean house” by throwing these idiots out of office and start with a fresh slate. Then establish new rules of ethics, conduct, and accountability, including pay-for-performance, limiting terms in office, and benefits more like on main street, and even then we need HEAVY citizen oversight of their deeds with no let up because as soon as our heads are turned, they’ll fall off the “good conduct” wagon.

When I am King. .. ...
When I become "King" there will be NO lawyers in our elected bodies, local, state or federal.
Every such elected person must pass a test on the Consitution and the Bill of Rights.
1/2 of our representatives will be conscripted for a 4 year "tour of duty" and be paid the salary of military Captain. these reps with a (C) after their name (rather than a D or R) may run for re-election but must win by a 2/3 majority and would be paid the salary of a Major. A 3rd term would require a win of 3/4 of the vote and would be paid the salary of a Colonel.

This is just a start mind you, but a start.

Doc

Constant Division
That is what I see in America. Everyone is more concerned about their getting or not. They are more concerned about ideology of who should come and who should go. What should be done? Divided in vote.

Very, Very few understand individual liberty. Basically not oppressing another. That means our votes should never interfere with another. Those issues should never be on a ballot. For if they are, you believe in majority, mob rule. Our country was not found on that, it was individual liberty.

Other individuals as well as government should not oppress me to believe what they believe in any shape or form. Love endures and gives truth for one to ponder. So let us stop this majority rule, mob rule concept and go to individual liberty.

I will be an activist on the 15th.

Go With The Flow
Happy days are here again because Big Daddy will soon be distributing delicious goodies. National healthcare is his first gift. Government subsidized housing, and more generous food stamp allowances will follow. It is true that the middle class and wealthy will be left behind, but it is a small price to pay for peace in the land. Each man will become a king and each woman a queen supported by the printing presses of Big Daddy. Let us all go with the flow of his generosity and support his reelection in 2012.

Paul Jacob:
Two things: Where was your outrage when Bush
decided to pay for a war by giving tax breaks?

And, do you think that Obama is quaking in his
boots over tea bag day?

Melvin
". National healthcare is his first gift."

This can't happen fast enough. Go Obama

Me again
I wonder if Capt. Phillips will be at the tea
party?

National Health care
Tammy, if I read you correctly you said" This can't happen fast enough".
I wonder what you will say when the Government takes 43% of the top of your paycheck for just heathcare? That is, if you are employed! If you are not, then I understand your thinking.
You need to take a trip to the U.K. I've been to Scotland and 43% comes off the top of their paycheck before any thing else. That leaves you 57% to pay your rent/house payment, utilities and buy your groceries. I do not know what the price of fuel is there today, but diesel fuel (and they use a lot of 4 cylinder diesels) was priced in 2004 at $,84 per liter (and there are 5 liters in a gallon. Do the math! gasoline sold for $.42 per liter. This was in 2004.
Doctors are government paid and you are just a number and since it is"Free out of pocket" you may wait 6 months to get a needed operation.
Before you wish this on America you need an education as to how it operates. I donot know your age, but you should be old enough to know by now that "Nothing is FREE"

Voter intelligence
Until the average citizen and voters of this nation become more knowledgable and are willing to actually research the performance of their elected officials we will continue to have the same type of criminals we now have leading our country.
I doubt that any actually take the time to educate themselves on just what their elected officials actually believe. They appear to go on personality alone.
Just look at Obama, "The One", and you can understand. And most are looking for ree hand-outs and for big government to take care of them with no responsibility on the part of the voter.
Sad.

Excellent Column
See you at the Tea Party!

1st Tea Party
I had the good fortune to be in Willaimsburg this weekend. Noticed in the paper a Tea Party for April 11th. Was glad to be there and found it in an odd, out of the way, corner of campus like I was drawn to it. Explain how I could walk straight to the location when I've never been anywher near that part of the state before.

Unfortunatly the rally and the rain started at one. Had not dressed for the cold. Bought the shirt, buttons and held on for the first couple speakers. I'll be wearing that shirt (washed) at the Columbia, SC protest Wednesday.

We need one issue. Either no debt or the Fair Tax.

Actually
To retake power in a democratic system, what one needs are popular ideas. When one is outraged that someone with different views than you is in power because he has ideas that are popular, what you are opposing is the idea of representative democracy.

Not liking our system of government because it allows popular ideas you don't like being put into practice by politicians who run on them, is a legitimate view. One does not have to like the American system of government. (And wanting to overthrow the system of government at least would make these parties more simlar to the actual Boston Tea Party then the kind of hippie gatherings they actually resemble).

But it is kind of silly pretending that a tempertantrum because ones party lost a couple of elections because your ideas aren't popular is meant to be a defense of our system of government and the democratic will of the people.

If you don't respect the will of the people that is fine. I had a bit of contempt for it when Bush was reelected. But there is no reason to pretend you are up to anything else.

ALLOW ME TO REMIND YOU HOW YOU GOT OBAMA
Let me remind you, and use a left wing commie arm of rag to do it - Obama came to power in Chicago when all you IDIOT NEOCON REPUBOTARDS abandoned YOUR GREAT POLITICIAN and threw him to the dogs with an OUT OF CONTROL DEMOCRAT PROSECUTORIAL MEDIA DRIVEN UNSEALING OF SEALED DIVORCE RECORDS. I guess sealed means NOT SEALED when it comes to BENDING OVER REPUBLICANS AND ANALLY RAPING THEM WHILE THEY HELP TO TAKE IT UP THE REAR END LIKE GOOD LITTLE BRATS !

YOU ARE GETTING SCREWED, AND YOU JUMP ON THE DEMO BANDWAGON TO HELP EXILE YOUR OWN - AND ONLY LATER FIND OUT IT WAS TOTALLY UNFAIR.
SCREW YOU !

HERE'S HOW STUPID YOU NEOTARDS ARE
" In the Libby case, the press avoided what I thought was a critical bit (among many) of prosecutorial legerdemain: The last minute admission in court that respecting the first interview of the key witness, the late Tim Russert, the newscaster told the FBI agent Eckenrode (missing from the case by the time it was tried) that he may well have told Libby that Valerie Plame worked at the CIA at the very time Libby recalled Russert had.
The original copy of those notes was somehow missing from the prosecution's files and could not, therefore, be given to the defense -- who surely would have been able to make a great deal more of this had the agent and his notes been available at trial."
ROFLMAO - tell me how many of you EVEN KNOW THAT ? ! ? ?
If your stupid enough to believe the prosecution misplaced the "notes" that proved Libby was INNOCENT OF THE CHARGES, you deserve HELL.
I told you - your opponents WILL DO ANYTHING, yet you all self-righteously and in UTTER STUPIDITY for your own glorious idea of your own purity -DENOUNCE YOUR INNOCENT FELLOW PARTY MEMBERS WITH THE LIES OF THE OPPOSITION.
They rape you in public, then in court, and your ranks SCREAM for your members heads, in a self righteous SUICIDE MISSION.
Later, not certain what to believe, you denounce your party member who was raped to pieces in the courts and in the public...THEN YOU DO IT AGAIN, OR ALREADY ARE TO THE DEMOCRATS NEXT UNFAIR TARGET.
Good for you and your "moral outrage" and your "law and order" mindset, the democrats have RAPED YOU WITH IT, as you happily assist.
Get out the torches - time for another ROUND OF DESTROYING YOUR OWN.
How about Norm Coleman ? LOL
You just can't resist having Al Franken to attack, I guess ?

In almost every post you attempt to imprint your leftest ideas on conservatives. Tea parties do not look like hippie gatherings. Been there and seen that. Why is it when libs protest, it's called patriotic or civil disobedience, but when conservatives do it we are trying to overthrow the gov.

Legitimate concern for the direction obama is taking the country is not a temper tantrum.

You are right about one thing, I have no respect for the will of the people in this case. Take away the voters with their hands out, wanting honest working people to pay their way, and your majority shrinks to a small minority.

Some Democratic hopefuls

The liberal thought process
Barbra Streisand grouses about the reckless destruction of the rain forest from her 12-thousand square-foot mansion made of wood.

Ted Kennedy and Hilary Clinton rail against school vouchers yet send their own children to private schools. In fact, while President Clinton was vetoing the school voucher bill, which would have enabled poor children to attend private schools previously reserved for the wealthy, he sent his own daughter to the elite private campus of Sidwell Friends.

While filming his breakthrough documentary, "Roger and Me," which blamed General Motors CEO, Roger Smith, for all the woes befallen the American auto industry, Michael Moore was driving a German car.

not going to take 43% of my paycheck for

Is this the term limits guy?
Mr. Jacobs is always pushing term limits as being the panacea for gov't corruption but he writes:

"Most state legislators and local politicians are barely more interested in representing the average citizen or upholding their constitutional duties than the shysters in Congress. But we are certainly better able to engage them. To educate them. To confront them. To replace them."

What makes him think that these same politicians would have MORE interest in the average citizen or Constitutional duties when they know they're in their last term? And how do you "engage" them if they have NO interest in you any more? And what's this about "replace them"? They KNOW they're being replaced ALREADY! They'll have only ONE interest in mind: their OWN future, not YOURS. Dennis (4/12, 9:34 post) said it well: "[O]ur type of government ... cannot exist when left to elected officials who have only one motive: please their constituents by spending someone else's money." With term limits who will be the "constituent" they'll want to please?
