Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

We can all support democracy without demanding to “put everything up for a vote.” Our greatest democratic freedoms include the individual’s freedom from being tromped all over, “democratically” or otherwise, by government.

Democracy isn’t just about voting. And a republic isn’t just about getting to elect officials. Limits on politics are what make us free.

So on that note, let me say that I’m sure glad science isn’t put up for a vote . . . more than it is already. When given unlimited purview to control, anyone can get corrupted. That whiff of power can drive even some of the best of people crazy.

How crazy?

Denial-of-reality crazy: If heliocentrism were up for political grabs, governments might be forced to go against Galileo once again. After all, fearful politicians or a fevered-up plurality could say: See, the sun rises and sets — all the proof you need that the sun revolves around the Earth!

Just so with trade policy. There are few truths so firmly established as comparative advantage and the notion that with free trade we all gain.

But some see in competition only the fearsome beast. Who? Some businessmen, some workers. The ones who see red are usually those who’ve just gotten a pink slip.

While it’s certainly true that competition can make us work harder — and smarter — competition just as surely produces more and cheaper goods than protectionism would allow. And it opens up new avenues for employment and entrepreneurship, too. In the long run, pink slips slip into every worker’s shoebox. We move on.

Don’t forget, the history of trade is a history of success after success. And the freer the trade, the better. Protectionism is not a policy for the workingman, though everyone nowadays seems to pretend that’s the case. It was and remains a policy to help some at the expense of others, usually some rich at the expense of those a lot less rich. Picking at the scabs of rough-and-tumble competitions past, Lou-Dobbs fashion, doesn’t undo the writings of Adam Smith, David Ricardo, Frederic Bastiat, Arthur Latham Perry (once the most famous of American free trade scholars), or the work of today’s best economists.

Unfortunately for our fortunes, some people only fix on the immediate effects: the wider effects, and the lagtime bounty, they go unseen. A trade restriction dropped? A business goes down; workers search for new employment. Easy to track. Easy to fixate on. Easy to fret about. Easy for mob focus and demagoguery.

Which is why Barack Obama has been making noises to renege on the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA): “I think we should use the hammer of a potential opt-out as leverage to ensure that we actually get labor and environmental standards that are enforced.” All code words in protectionist speak to erect barriers to protect certain client groups.

NAFTA ensures freer trade than otherwise politically likely, not free trade as such. NAFTA is as imperfect a real-world political instrument as you could expect from politicians. Still, trade has freed up, and increased, making most of the complaints against it nonsense.

Indeed, too few of us complain that NAFTA isn’t free trade enough. To fume against NAFTA today usually means just one thing: to fulminate against competition. Unfair! Unfair! Such talk now gets wrapped in the flag of “labor standards” and environmentalism, but the actual impetus and intent remains clear. The old whine finds new bottles in the Obama campaign, but the sour grapes taste just the same.

Which is also why major Obama campaign consultants have reportedly whispered to Canadians that, no, Obama does not mean what he says. The candidate’s only saying nasty things about NAFTA to pick up a few extra votes among the die-hard trade-o-phobes in the Mid-West bastion of the Democracy.

Canada’s CTV published the story last Wednesday, reporting

that a senior member of Obama’s campaign called the Canadian government within the last month — saying that when Senator Obama talks about opting out of the free trade deal, the Canadian government shouldn’t worry. The operative said it was just campaign rhetoric not to be taken seriously.

Juicy. But the story doesn’t stop there. CTV backtracked a bit on Leap Day:

The Obama campaign told CTV late Thursday night that no message was passed to the Canadian government that suggests that Obama does not mean what he says about opting out of NAFTA if it is not renegotiated.
However, the Obama camp did not respond to repeated questions from CTV on reports that a conversation on this matter was held between Obama’s senior economic adviser — Austan Goolsbee — and the Canadian Consulate General in Chicago.

The point of this breaking story is not that politicians lie (we all know they do) but that sometimes they get caught.

But now the wagons have formed a circle:

On Thursday, the Canadian embassy in Washington issued a complete denial.
“At no time has any member of a presidential campaign called the Canadian ambassador or any official at the embassy to discuss NAFTA,” it said in a statement.
But on Wednesday, one of the primary sources of the story, a high-ranking member of the Canadian embassy, gave CTV more details of the call. He even provided a timeline. He has since suggested it was perhaps a miscommunication.

Yeah, right. Is there really nothing to see here? Should we all just move along? What we witness is a story caught in mid-sweep . . . the broom stopped as the dust settles under the rug.

After all, the story has plausibility written all over it. The Economist pointed out that Obama was very different on trade before he began his campaign. After he’s won what he needs to win to pry the nomination from She Who Must Not Be Elected, he can go back to honesty again. Ah, the audacity of truth!

And make no mistake, the story, unhedged, is heartwarming, in its way. One can certainly hope that Obama is nowhere near as foolish as his pandering policy statements suggest. (I suppose one could affix that same hope to Hillary Clinton, who has been trying to outdo Obama as a protectionist, in recent debates — and has even gone so far to deny nearly identical rumors about contacting Canadian officials. But that seems one audacity too far, doesn’t it?)

Of course, I don’t know what Obama really believes. It takes a lot of gasbaggery to become a leading light. Right now he’s pandering to protectionist Democrats. Who knows to whom he will pander tomorrow?

Between you and me, let’s be glad not to feel such a need to lie, especially against the obvious truth.

In any case, I am happy to affirm, once again, that the Earth revolves around the sun.

Secrets and Lies
The thing that concerns me about this whole story is that Obama was dumb enough to think that nobody would tell the press what he told his aide to do.

I expect the Hillary Defence (fire the aide) to kick in any day now. PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN! Feh.

Science is "put up" for a vote ...
each and every day, every breath, every thought, every word we partake in.

It is our nature to question, tear down, neglect, abuse, anialate what science has proven:

that GOD IS LOVE...more than this we cannot ask.

The science of our universe is simple.
We complicate it at every turn.

Practice it and prove it.

Practice Love
see only good

speak only good

because good reflects good.

as sure as the sun and the moon rise in our sky,
whether we actually see them or not, they will never not be there.

Its so very simple.

Barak Obama
is the good and blessed candidate who has been ordained to work as hard as he has for the destiny God has set forth for him.

Our only duty is to support his work, ahead, with the prayers that will keep America safe and leave turmoil behind.

Science: we'll be supportive and gain
or we'll be destructive and lose.

Nellie
OMG, you actually believe YHVH has ordained Obama to lead our country? He is a member of a church that has in the past preached hatred of whites, a church whose leader supports Louis Farakhan a known anti-semite and racist. Your thought is that YHVH would ordain a man that has sworn to push for the segmentation (destruction) of Israel.
I am Christian; your rhetoric is so offensive to me. You are saying all should stick their heads in the sand and be happy and stupid and let the chips fall where they may.
That last post you made is what scares me about Obama supporters.

billg
then, my friend, you are not what you claim.

I repeat.
then, my friend, you are not what you claim.

Your claim
doesn't scare me. But it certainly acts to destroy good.

YOU do that, by what you say scares you.

You do not recognize a good thing when it is obvious. I truly have searched all candidates in depth, and am continuing to do so, but appreciate what my instinct is telling me.

Not that this matters, but you may think it does; thousands iof others have, also.

How could you ever be thankful? Ever express gratitude? Ever expect our country to improve?

Your being afraid, is the anti-christ, if you will. Because your words do nothing to glorify this country...our nation. They illustrat a fear that has no relation to believing and trusting in a higher, greater entity than yourself.

God Bless You Nellie
And God bless Barak. I truly hope that the destiny God has set for Sen. Obama is to lose to Sen. McCain in the general election. Again, God bless and keep you.

Nellie
Mankind themselves are in charge of their destiny.God is in charge of their fate.

Your fear is challenging you to a duel.
my friend.

seek further.

educate yourself.

for the good of humanity.

and you'll not have to work so hard as you are, to do what you have no business doing;

ie: God's work.

Nellie
thank you for clearing that up for me. The method Obama supporters us for debate amazes me. I present FACTS about Senator Obama and the people he surrounds himself with, your response is "You aint no Christian 'cause you don't support Oabama" It is good that someone is able to inform me that my Yeshua (Jesus), YHVH on our planet in the Flesh, is not a Christian god.

So for that I thank You, I can now go about my life being freed of my delusions........Lets hold hands and sing stupid songs and our enemies will see how nice we are and they will love us and hold our hands and sing stupid songs with us. And they won't force our women to wear burkas and they will forget about killing us and we can all have health care and fairies will pay for it and we can steal from the hard working people and give that money away and sing stupid songs and the world will be happy blah blah blah blah

billg64
Agreed, except for the last blah. It was totally redundant. :-D

savage
not only is it redundant; it is repetitive without a real need to be.

Beyond naive
When the Washington Post (or the Boston Globe?) endorsed Sen Obama, they also noted that he was "beyond naive".
This gaffe is that naivete made manifest.
More to come!

BILL & SAVAGE:
(I don't agree about that last blah: I think it adds just the right emphasis).

(Is Nellie a satirist, or should I put her on scroll-by?)

Go back and try to digest
what it actually is that I said, if you will.
You're not reading. You're shouting over my words. Your way breeds havic. Why don't you consider a new and fresh approach. Listening and praying from the perspective that your heavenly Father, who's created the universe may know more than you, when it comes to what is being laid before you, for a change.

May God bless you and soften your heart.

God is within you.

Jesus brought peace and quiet harmony into a space. Mr. Obama brings unifying peace and hrmony into a space. But that scares you.

As a Christian, that should comfort you. When someone behaves as we should, you become threatened???

Think on those things.

SunThe1
Haven't seen enough of Nellie to give an opinion. On first check, she sounds dead serious. I wonder if the lefties realize they are so divorced from reality, their ideas can hardly be satirized.
Even the best, Loyal Democrat, catches flak from newbies every time he posts.

I Used To Breed Havics
But they kept eating the kittens. So I switched to Lamas.

savage
Yes, I'd say serious. The ideas pretty much ARE satire in themselves.
:-)

true lib
I've haddock with that kind of nonsense :-)

Peace and harmony
I'm not sure I've noticed the peace and harmony Mr. Obama brings to a space yet. Is that the cause of all the fainting?

I'd take Nellie's advice and see it as my duty to do as Barack says, but there's that false god thing....

IN GOD WE TRUST
has no meaning in this 'human' society, as we live it according to man, instead of the alternative, according to our creator, who's put wonderful things before us, only for ignorance to feel threatened by, and therefore, to destroy.

All that is truly relevant (and healing) in our day, is written in a simple & humble prayer;
The Lord's Prayer.

If you will take the time to study His prayer with the humility you'll discover within you...

as so many have...and must continue to...inorder to gain knowledge from; that which was intented for good. Intended to bless, not take away.

$10 per gallon gas a dose of realism?
On this week's "McLaughlin Group", this subject came up.

I can't vouch for the statistics, but the insinuation was that if we totally reneged on NAFTA, the Canadians would no longer feel compelled to sell us petroleum...that instead the Chinese, or others, would get their business(the implication being NAFTA results in agreements where we access Canadian oil..which is our single largest source).

By the way, Canadians are fine by me.

But on the program, it was said this would result in gasoline at U.S. pumps selling for close to $10 per gallon.

Again, I don't know if the stats, or the assumptions, contained in the program are valid, but IF the assumptions are true, and the stats are even close to that figure, NAFTA ain't going away anytime soon.

My man Pat Buchanan, one of my favorites, had little to say about this specific issue, which surprised me.

union dude
mincing words, maybe...I'll give you that.

Look. We are all earnest students of what our God-given purpose truly is.

All I'm saying is that we really should not add mixes to what is more likely a gift.

My instincts are pretty good, when I 'go into my closet' (turn the volumes down) and pray from the vantage point that God is the creator, and what He has created is good.

From there I ask for understanding from Him.

The thoughts that come in the waking hour are welcomed by me to explore.

The thoughts that close my day are in words of gratitude for the enlightening 'my daily bread'
supplied...as little or as much it may be.

My day is blessed by the knowledge & understanding I gain.

But this has the ability to come only when we are quiet.

If I'm yelling or fearing over God, I'll have gained nothing productive. Which means those around me will have benefited little from me.

If I'm here to proliferate goodness, then I'm not living my life according to my maker, am I, in that case?

Sunthe1
You're not "doing as Barak says"..........

You're supposed to be listening to what God says.

Go within and listen to your gut.

Cause that's where a humble heart finds the right decision to act upon.

Its quiet and with ease, that we move, when its right.

the opposite? dis ease. moving away from God.

come closer to Him and discover the falling away of whatever has been making you sick.

God has spoken
He told Nellie to vote for Obama.

He told me to do the opposite.

That God - what a sense of humor!

SPEAK NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL .....

THAT IS A SCIENCE THAT YOU CAN COUNT ON.

Nellie & Tru Lib
You both want B. Hussein O. to take an additional 845 BILLION DOLLARS of our tax money and give it to the UN so they can give it to our enemies and all the other dictators in the world. This is money that we will need to prepare for the ice age which we are presently entering.

B. Hussein Obama says
that he is not a Muslim, but the Koran says that muslims may lie under oath to non-muslims. How can you tell if BHO is a Christian telling the truth or a Muslim taking advantage of the Koran? Only God knows and he isn't telling us.

Trust your own heart?
Nellie writes: 11:00 AM

----------

Very bad mistake according to God.
Well, that is if God's Word is found in the Bible.

Jer 17:9 -
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

I think if you trust your own heart, you will always be self deceived, its lies to you.
And the biggest lie one can believe is the one he tells himself.

Nellie Gives It Up For Charm
Nellie offers, "Barak Obama is the good and blessed candidate who has been ordained to work as hard as he has for the destiny God has set forth for him."

Now, that is so sweet.

However, we are not voting for a good neighbor. We are voting for a political Leader.

For me, a good political Leader strives to keep the Government out of my business and wallet. Mr. Obama has made it clear that the Government needs to be even more involved in our busisness via dispensing goods and services that belong in the private sector. The only way that he can do that is, of course, raise taxes and tighten control. So, you say that is okay as long as he is nice about it. Good grief!

You go ahead and follow Obama because he is so charming, but so was the wonderful Reverend Jones, a few years back. You may get a first-hand education as to what one means when one says, "don't drink the koolaid". Good luck!

The heart,Nellie,...
...is used to pump blood. You can look it up.But my gut tells me you are a loon of the highest order. You can look that up also.

Mac Moore
Obama is so "charming" he wants to reach into your pocketbook or wallet and take out money not simply to assist folks here in America, but to help the world's poverty-stricken. His global tax scheme.

His largese, his vision, extends far beyond the archaic boundaries of our Beloved Republic.

He no knows limitations. Our nation is truly blessed.

Where is your compassion for your fellowman who inhabits our wonderful planet, brother?

The American taxpayer has not even begun to see what is in store for him.

Bush is hardly any better, forking out our tax monies to develop health care systems and infrastructure in Iraq.

How did it come to pass that we elected, or may elect, total fools who have done, or will do, such great harm to our Beloved Republic?

Do I hear an "Amen"?

p.s.
I need to proofread.

"He knows no limitations", in third paragraph.

Nellie
You seem to be confusing Obama for God himself!

So when Obama disappoints you are you going to turn your back on God?

Your scary.

Yeah...
Obama brings peace and unity? Mark my words, if he becomes POTUS, he will divide the country more deeply than any man in history. I wish people would shut their ears to his oratory skills and look at the substance (particularly his voting record in the Illinois Legislature and Senate). And I suppose infanticide does bring about peace in a banal, morbid sort of way. The Christians (I am one, by the way) who support BHO need to beware false prophets. Doesn't it send a sort of creepy vibe through your synapses that someone with no real accomplishments, no apparent conscience, and no real platform can make people swoon and flock to him like this man? I'm not saying the guy is THE anti-Christ of Revelations or anything, but he certainly ain't the second coming of Christ. Wake up people.

Buck
I always have trouble getting out of my vacuum closet. I don't know why I ever had the danged thing put in.

Lots Of Great Policies
The only import President Obama wont vow to restrict is illegal aliens from Mexico. Of course his draconian tax policies and severe trade restrictions will sharply curtail the number of jobs available but the deserving immigrants will happily be supported by our Social Safety Net while the racist voices of the nativists will be silenced in the Name Of Fairness. What a lot of HOPE is in store! And the beauty part is if that cranky, aged, ugly, mean, creepy McLame manages by some miracle engineered by a malignant God to get his worthless carcass elected...he'll do the exact same things!

TruLib
I know why i have mine. I wanted to try to figure out the Libs point of view. Since they operate in a vacuum, i thought getting into a vacuum closet might help. Alas, as soon as i re-entered the real world facts took over once more. It is obvious the more powerful liberal mind can retain that vacuum far longer.

Savage99 & TruLib
Hold on... the sucking sound we're going to hear nationwide in '09 will negate the need for sensible citizens to install vacuum closets in their homes. I'm stocking up on duct tape, myself, in an attempt to hold onto my wallet, firearms, dogs, SUV, and sanity. I'm going to securely tape down anything I don't want to be redistributed or destroyed for the common good (the common good). If you've seen Simon Pegg's 'Hot Fuzz,' you know why I posted that twice. It's coming.

Trruth Detector
How can one determine what a lib's real intent is? It's contained in any sentence which begins with the words "I'm not".

Kiss the oil goodbye!!!
If NAFTA ever goes under the first casualty will be our access to Canadian oil. Thank Obamamama for that one.

-Ray

Jesus didn't unify the people...
...so I have no idea what the loons above are talking about when that is asserted.

Of course, Obama won't bring unification either. He brings slavery to all colors of people in order to establish socialism of the European sort.

I can't imagine how anyone can disagree with that.

Warren

Nellie
Your posts are very poetic and in light of the left and their disdain for anything Christian, somewhat surprising. However, just what about obama makes you beleive that he is preordained to lead our country??? Other than having the ability to read a speech I find nothing special about him.

O's new politics sounds the same!
Double speak by BHO is same o' politics of the past.
He just wants different things while lining his pockets.

hey! xlib, I was liberal once, too
I really take quiet time to search and research, too. But I've really always listened to the instincts I have, as well.

Never had an operation! Can you believe that? At my age? I'm consistant with NO drugs (of any kind). Actually, I feel infringed upon while watching CNN (for instance) every time a drug related advertising commercial attempts to invade my psychi, I change channels...its all hog wash. BIG Business....

Brainwashing everybody into feeling sick or broken or insufficient. Its the anti-christ.

Well, have you looked into Barak's path? He could very well be the recipient of big income, himself. (Not that there's anything wrong w/ that).

But he's made decisions based on the needs of his fellow man. His simple eloquence is a reminder to us all that we fall easily into the trap of complicating what is clearly not meant to be complicated. Do I have reservations because he is (after all) a politician, and we've suffered through our share. He CAN be bought, but I believe he is less likely to be, because he brings strong values along with him.

His demonstration PROVES much better than our other choices. McCain fights for right, no matter what the risk politically, and I like that he doesn't need to be always liked.

As we get closer to November, I'll divulge more.
But I fear for Obama, too. There are right-wing bigots who refuse to open up their hearts and minds to his policies at all, because they don't have it in them. Ignorance.

Listen, I will support who ever wins. But for now, its Obama. Are there things I don't agree with, which he'll support? Yes. The judge is still out, yet.

Lay all of your life long associations out on the table for us to see and judge you by.

Then we'll talk.

What if God ask....
If God ask you, why are you a conservative? What would you say?

I want lower taxes(rationalization for greed).

I want smaller government(rationalization for greed).

Personal Responsibility(rationalization for greed).

I'm against Gay Marriage(This is the only thing I can find in the bible that I can use to promote my political belief morally. I know God, you say help the poor, but that goes againts my political belief. The government should not be involve in helping the poor. But the government should be use to prohibiting Gay Marriage).

I'm against abortion (pro-life, but only for the unborn. No health care for kids, sorry that would increase my taxes. I love money more than i love people).

Most of the items listed above are Self-interest.
Things that Satan would invoke.

xlib
there are millions of liberals who are
Christians.

it is simply a myth pushed by the biased conservative media that liberals disdain Christians and God.

there is a thread on protestanism and evangelicals active right now, i cant think of the author but glance at the posts and you will find many conservatives who are atheists.

there are oonservative atheist websites.
in other words, religion doesn't always lend itself to a left-right split.

some liberals are religious
some conservatives are atheist.

Nellie, Nellie
Are you seriously saying that God, the Sovereign
Lord of Creation would actually endorse someone who is on record for murdering His little ones?
Haven't you read about millstones?

Here's a scripture you might think about

Proverbs 24:11,12 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain,
If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not, doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it, and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to everyman according to his works?
I other words, he's saying you can't say you didn't know these babies are being murdered in the womb, and barely in the birth canal. He's saying you knew and you did nothing about it and he's going to make you answer for it.
Obama has consistently voted against any kind of
prolife protection for unborn and partially born babies, or babies that survived the abortion, or parental notification (those young teens are His
little ones also). So don't go with that baloney about God chosing this character as the President of the U.S. His abortion record is an abomination.
I maintain that anyone who supports abortion like this will answer to God. And the problems we are facing as a nation is directly the result of this abomination called abortion, and will only get worse until and unless we repent as a people.

And
if this charlatan does get elected POTUS, Yeah
you may have something in God putting him in office, He does raise and depose leaders as He chooses. But it will because He is judging our nation, the handwriting on the wall you might say. NOT because he's been called so God can bless us, He can't as long as we are a rebellious people, abortion is just one example of our spiritual ills. If He judges and chastised Israel for her rebellion, who do we think we are that we can escape His discipline.

Hewit needs to sit down with

these clowns, like Pual, and tell them to try to be accurate.

CNSNews.com) - A Wednesday evening report on a Canadian television network that said a "senior member" of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign had called Canada's ambassador to the U.S. to advise him that Canada should not take seriously Obama's attacks on the North American Free Trade Agreement was "untrue," the Canadian government told Cybercast News Service.

"I can categorically say that no one has contacted our embassy or our ambassador," said Canadian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andre Lemay. "None of our officials at the embassy discussed anything with the runners up in the presidential campaign. We realize that one of the Canadian networks mentioned yesterday that such a call had been made. The report is untrue."

Tea Party
Obama isn't a "charlatan." He is the most honest and open book we have in government. The special interests are going to tell you otherwise but don't believe them.

Tea Party
"And if this charlatan does get elected POTUS."

Before Conservatives talk about the speck in Obama's eye we should pull the plank away from our own eye.

Conservatives talk about small government but the Republicans want huge government as shown from 2001 through 2007.

Pork barrel spending going from 3,000 to 14,000 projects. Increasing entitlement spending by $45 billion a year with Medicare Prescription Part D, doubling the size of the Dept. of Education and overall domestic spending skyrocketing.
What happened to Balancing the Budget? The national debt went from $4 to $9 trillion during George Bush's tenure. At least we get to hang onto our precious tax cut!

Too Late - Nellie Has Taken The Koolaid
Nellie as to Obama, "But he's made decisions based on the needs of his fellow man."

He has consistently voted the Party Line of the Democrats. That is a clear sign that he is nothing more than a faithful bureaucrat, not a "people" based thinker.

Anyway, if you think the Government is better at determining and managing the goods and services than free citizens, then he just might be your man. Keep in mind that freedom is having choices. The more the Government controls the Goods and Services the less freedom you have.

Mac
"Anyway, if you think the Government is better at determining and managing the goods and services than free citizens, then he just might be your man. "

I don't know to what extent our society allows 'free citizens' to manage goods and services. Thats why Obama's good, he hasn't allowed lobbyist, like Hillary and moccasin, to buy him off.

Also see what happens when a corporation privatizes a nursing home in Florida.

"They're coming up short -- they do the minimum they can get away with and no more," says Adams, a former construction worker and cook, who testified during state hearings in Pennsylvania on the buyout. Adams says he contracted infections because his bandages weren't changed regularly, received the wrong medication and was stranded for 45 minutes after falling in his bathroom.

Mac Moore
"the Government is better at determining"

Like when President Bush has his ethanol mandates or the government determining that oil will win in the energy marketplace with all their handouts and subsidies from the taxpayer, at least, until the Democrats took $18 billion of them away last week.

Winners and losers
Every system has its winners and losers. This country prospered under both dems and reps. The fact is our two political parties are not that far apart. As of what happened to our national debt under Jorge Bush the fact is he is NOT a conservative. He ran as a consevative but governed as a moderate to liberal. Most of his major policy successes if you wish to call them that are liberal in nature. Prescription drugs for medicaid, NCLB, the housing bailout, and rebuilding New Orleans. Other than fighting the war against radical muslims he has governed as a liberal. Worst yet it looks like the Republicans are going to nominate another liberal. Conservatives need to either retake the Republican Party or maybe form our own. There are a lot of dis-affected Dems who are fed up the the Nancy Pelosi Berkley wing of their party as well.
