Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

America is diving into a Marianas Trench of red ink. There is barely a digit of black anywhere on the balance sheet, and spendthrift lawmakers are closing off numerous sources of positive revenue.

On the spending side of the ledger, the White House and Congress enacted a $700-billion financial bailout, followed by an earmark-laden $787-billion “stimulus” law and plans to ladle out $1.6 billion in federal government bonuses in 2009. Then came a $3.5 trillion FY 2010 budget, and the prospect of $9.3 trillion in total indebtedness over the coming decade.

A March 31 Bloomberg study found that the Treasury Department, Federal Reserve, FDIC and HUD have thus far obligated generations of Americans to $12.8 TRILLION in debt. That’s 90% of our nation’s entire 2008 Gross Domestic Product!

It’s more accrued debt than 43 previous administrations combined, and it doesn’t include the US share of the $1.1 trillion “global stimulus” devised by the Group of 20, to be administered by professional spenders at the International Monetary Fund – or the cost of servicing these debts.

Taxes will soar, to pay off these debts – and cover new levies on everything we do.

2,600 delegates recently flew greenhouse-gas-spewing jetliners to Bonn for another five-star-hotel UN climate change confab, envoy Todd Stern announced that the White House is “seized with the urgency” of tackling runaway global warming. Looming on the horizon is a hulking 648-page House climate change bill, with equally monstrous Senate and EPA versions waiting in the wings.

President Obama wants energy prices to “skyrocket,” to coerce Americans to slash carbon dioxide emissions 80% below 1990 levels by 2050 – to levels last seen in 1905! He says cap-and-trade will “raise” $656 billion between 2012 and 2019, to fund green energy, green job and other government programs. The National Economic Council and other analysts put the tax bite at $1.3 to $3.0 trillion.

This is not monetary manna. It is a massive wealth transfer – extracted from every hydrocarbon-using business, motorist and family, and doled out by Congress and bureaucrats to politically favored constituencies. These all-intrusive energy taxes will hit poorest households hardest.

Cap-and-tax will also clobber manufacturing and heavy-industry jobs. Twenty states get 60-98% of their electricity from coal. They form our manufacturing heartland, and every increase in electricity prices will result in more businesses laying off workers or closing their doors, more jobs sent overseas, more homes forced into foreclosure, more families into welfare, and more school districts, hospitals and churches into whirlpools of red ink.

Soaring gasoline and natural gas prices will do likewise.

And for what? Hundreds of climate scientists say CO2 plays little or no substantive role in climate change. They point out that even total elimination of US carbon dioxide emissions would quickly be offset by emissions from China, India and other rapidly developing nations.

Thankfully, sensible Republicans and Democrats are raising red flags about these economy-killing proposals. But a White House/EPA rulemaking would require no congressional vote – and they’re reportedly going to drop that bombshell this month.

On the revenue side, the situation is equally irresponsible. Lock up the best and tax the rest, is the motto. Whether it’s oil and natural gas (onshore or off), coal or coal-to-gas, shale oil or uranium, Congress and the White House are making America’s best prospects off limits. They are imposing punitive taxes and regulations on prospects that aren’t in no-access categories, to curtail development.

That means rejecting trillions in potential bonus, rent, royalty and tax revenues that could help pay for this spending binge.

Developing just our off-limits oil and gas resources in the ANWR, OCS and Rockies could generate over $1.7 trillion in government revenue and create 114,000 new jobs, a recent ICF International study concluded. The petroleum would eliminate one-fifth of the nation’s $350-700 billion annual oil imports bill. Developing all US oil and natural gas resources on federal lands could generate $4 trillion.

The American Energy Alliance and other experts say the benefits would be even greater. And this is just conventional oil and gas revenue. It does not include trillions more in revenues from oil shale, tar sands, methane hydrates, coal, uranium and other deposits that Congress, bureaucrats, judges and green activists have conspired to put off limits to the American taxpayers and consumers who own them.

It does not consider the regulatory stranglehold on coal and nuclear power plant construction – and thus on jobs and revenues that those projects and their energy would provide.

This is Real Energy, Real Revenue, Real Employment. Hydrocarbons and nuclear generate 93% of all the energy that safeguards our jobs, health, living standards and national security. With 90% reliability, they turn on the lights and make America work and prosper.

And they are being closed down – to be “replaced” by pixie dust energy from wind turbines and solar panels that now meet barely 1% of our total energy requirements.

Wind turbines actually generate electricity only 2-6 hours a day, on average. They are built and operated only because of billions in taxpayer subsidies. And they require large swaths of land and prodigious amounts of concrete, steel, copper and fiberglass: 700 tons for each 1.5 MW turbine – plus enormous additional quantities for natural-gas-fired electrical generators that kick in every time the wind dies down.

Solar is even further away from making a perceptible contribution to our energy needs.

Two-thirds of Americans want our petroleum and nuclear energy developed. They want jobs, security, economic recovery, power that works 24/7.

But their rights are being trampled on, by partisan totalitarians whose decrees violate America’s sacred traditions of open, robust debate, sound science and economics, and majority opinion on critical issues. Whatever happened to the cooperation, bipartisanship, ethics and social responsibility voters thought they were electing last fall?

It’s time to say, enough!

Dare I
say abuse of power by this person infecting our White House and those viruses running the majority in Congress? In fact I would call it Treason..
But nothing will be done because the pretender is a democrat thug, supported by Democrat thugs in the House and Senate..

Enough is only the beginning...
Enough is enough...already! Yet this is only the beginning of what will become known in history...as the "BEGINNING OF THE END OF AMERICA"...as we have known it.

It never
ceases to amaze me that the Democrats can push policies that directly harm the people that support them and those same people continue to support the Democrats. When the price of oil, electricity, food, and everything else skyrocket because of the passage of this bill Obama and the Democrats will of course blame it on the evil oil companies. When plants begin to shutdown because they can not afford the electricity and the additional environmental regulations of limited CO2 emissions Obama and the Democrats will of course blame the evil businesses. Lets see: fewer jobs, higher cost of everything, less domestic energy production, and less tax revenue (just to name a few), yes, I can surely support the Cap and Trade bill.

Help!
Was this the congress that had a 14%approval rating making these landmark ignorant decisions?I wonder what it will take for Americans to get off their behinds?

True enough Joel
but two questions these eco-nuts never seem to have an answer to are 1) What is the ideal temperature of Earth supposed to be at any time, in any place, and 2) Upon whose authority do these assertions rest?

CO2 makes up about .03% of the atmosphere. Why don't we hear about there being too much nitrogen, since it is that and water vapor that make up the bulk of atmospheric gases? Even the manufactured 'scare' over the supposedly diminishing ozone layer seems to have finally gone by the wayside.

Unfortunately thanks to the Econut-in-Chief this ginned-up scare isn't going to go quietly into that good night without wreaking a lot of havoc on both our economy and our national security.

question
It died the day BO was put into office. Haven't you noticed! JM

Sent Them Home!
Rationality doesn't exist in Washington, D.C., any more. For all the Tea Parties scheduled around the country on April 15 I suggest the following chant:

"Congress and the President must go!"

Like Oliver Cromwell in England centuries ago we need to invade the Capitol building and send this feckless, corrupt Congress home and place the President on an indefinite leave of absence.

Our leadership today stinks at the bottom of the barrel.

Joel nailed it in #7
When asked what caused the last ice age to disappear given that there very few people, no cars and no mfging to produce CO2, the libs just look at you like you're insane and go right on spouting their mantra.

This is a power play, a tax excuse and nothing more other than to grow the gov't...gov't's need crises', even if they have to make one up.
CO2 is plant food, if there has been a rise in it, it's probably because of the cutting down of the rain forests, the planet's lungs, but you can't tax the natives who are doing it.

This jackass in the WH is destroying the middle class while claiming to save it just as hitler did in the 30's,the german's thought he was great as well, loved his speech's and his rhetoric, when in fact he was insane.
The "one" is a legend in his own mind and just as dangerous to our republic.
He will bring this nation to ruin and get many thousands killed before we are rid of him.

New Party
Newt is right: if the Republicans won't do something, then it's time for a new party.

Don't worry about energy costs: the dollar will be worth about 5% of what it is now in a short period of time, anyway. The day of hyperinflation is near. (Welcome to the United States of Zimbabwe, and bow to President Obamugabe!) Gasoline will be sold by the cup, if present trends continue.

Solar Max
NASA is warning about a Solar Max event somewhere between 2010 and 2012. This could - according to NASA - result in the loss of significant numbers of world power-grids. Is this idiot in the WH doing anything to deal with that? (a better satellite - one that will give quicker notice in the event of an 1859-type of solar flare - would help.)

In other words, NASA says we could be without power for up to 3-4 months if a solar flare isn't detected in time to shut down the grids.

Instead, President Obamugabe of the United States of Zimbabwe is mirroring the idiot-rhetoric of S.A.'s dictator and the real Mugabe re. AIDS. That's what you get when hacks and politicians attempt to understand and manipulate science.

To sum it up: these are the wrong men with the wrong solutions for the wrong set of problems.

Seventies all over Again
I see the red line of debt mounting. I hear the cries of the depression.

Even though not as great as the big D the seventies is coming again. Except this time the giant stagflation.

Stagflation=high prices(inflation) and high unemployment. I remember those days as many farmers hung themselves in their barns. Paid to get rid of the dairy cows by government. Prices rose so fast. Every construction project ran red ink.

Thanks again to government intervention into economics. Seventies was gold standard removed by Nixon to pay for Viet Nam. Today, Obama spending like no tomorrow and government intervention and take over of private enterprise.

Welcome to Stagflation coming to your neighbor soon.

Keynes: How much is too much?
I read an article the other day that said that deficit spending is OK, if not called for, as long as the deficit is below 4% of GDP. Now, I don't know what the "limit" is, but Obama is moving us in the direction of annual deficits of more than 10% of GDP. I think that deficits are fine, as long as they are of reasonable size.

And one thing you don't hear much about is that these huge deficits are going to put us in the area of a total government debt of more than 100% of GDP, and I don't think that's surviveable. At least when the annual deficits are relatively small, the economy can grow faster than those deficits, so the total debt never overtakes GDP. A declining economy, as we are in now, can absorb reasonable deficits for a year or two, and eventually make that surplus (economic growth over deficit) up. But Obama's deficits, so much so fast, will hobble the economy forever.

Well written Paul Driessen
Libtards seem to find solutions to problems that don't exist. Like global warming, or climate change because the earth is cooling.
We hope the climate does change because a static climate would be boring.
Stop electing idiots.

Obama's Agenda?
Rabid, unrealistic and uncontrolled environmentalism under the jaded leadership of Al Gore, the inventor of the internet.
All are ruinous.
When will this idiocy end?

election choices
We will not stop electing idiots until we stop having idiot voters. That may not happen until all idiots starve and a few patriots survive?

Spending: an end in itself
Cynics have said the real purpose of the Rep's tax-cut philosophy over the last 30 years wasn't really to spur economic growth. It was to starve the govt beast and to force its reduction.

Cynics are now saying that Obama's gargantuan spending hikes are not really about economic recovery or even all the "wunnerful" programs he promises...but to raise debt to such levels that future tax cuts will be impossible.

In other words, the real objective of the Left is a permanent shift of wealth from individual hands to the govt, and a corresponding increase in govt power and control.

THE WORD IS OUT!!!
Barack Hussein Obama is not really "Barack Hussein Obama", but, instead, his real name is "Barry Soetoro". And, he was in fact born in Kenya. It is illegal for him to be president of the United States. He is a fraud. Any and all bills he signed into law are illegal and void. Not only that, but he's part of a middle-eastern terrorist group. Type the name "barrysoetoro.com" and see what you get. He needs to be arrested and tried as a domestic terrorist. Folks, we have a terrorist in the White House. Pay attention.

Barry Soetoro and his buddies...
have gotten thier Russian-bought nuclear suitcase weapons into our country and are blackmailing our government. That's why they're giving him ANYTHING he wants. Anything.

InRe: Eco-changes, C02, etc.
What most of the Liberals and eco-nuts fail to understand is that matter can neither be destroyed NOR created! It can be changed in form--and is at all times changing. BUT whatever is on earth right now WAS on earth in the past. The "great number of people" do NOT ADD anything that hasn't been added before! The temperatures WILL and ARE fluctuating all the time--and we WILL continue to have highs and lows in the EARTH's cycle--not ours. The more we try to "change" things (there's that word again) the more we realize that they remain the same.(despite our efforts)
BO needs to be gotten OUT of that office! WRITE SCOTUS--DEMAND that they actually HEAR some of the many lawsuits about his "natural-born citizen" status. He will be tossed out, and all his laws, budgets, cabinet, and spending will cease. We can get back up, brush ourselves off, and get back out of the hole under our OWN power. No, BO--there is NOTHING that "only government" can handle!

US Economy
I was in the US last August during the campaign and listened very closely to what the then Senator Obama was saying. I warned family and friends that in the event they voted him in they were inviting economic disaster of an unprecedented scale. But no one listened now you are about to get it.

Did I have a crystal ball you may ask? But no what I had was better by far, I had the benefit of 12 painful years of experience of a socialist government in the UK. Many Americans seem to have deified Tony Blair, but let me tell you that during his Premiership they raped the British Economy and people.

One of the first things they did was to raid the Private Pension Funds to the tune of £5 Billion per year. (They then had the gall to tell us we were not saving enough for our old age). For the next 12 years they have Taxed, borrowed and spent as if there were no tomorrow, well tomorrow has arrived and like Old Mother Hubbard they have discovered the cupboard is bare.

When the Labour Party, our equivalent of the Democrats, came into power our Economy was strong and growing, well they soon changed that. The great difference is that the Democrats are setting out on the same disasterous course but at a time when your economy is already failing.

If these spending plans are followed the out come may well make the Great Depression look like a mild case of indegestion. My friends you are in for a rough ride, and one which may last many years.

Mind boggling
The United States Legislative branch; i.e., the House of Representatives and the Senate, the ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PEOPLE, are apparently anything but. The only way this is ever going to change is if these totally incompetent individuals, to put it kindly, start losing the support of the voters and with the vast majority of the media, enjoying a lock on J. Q. public's attention, turning these idiots into rock stars, phony science into impending doomsday scenarios, and massive spending as the only solution to "the worst economic disaster since the depression," what's the likelihood? Mind boggling!

Financial Road To Perdition
POBAMA's $ and social programs are leading our nation into financial ruin. The Democrat response to criticism of his policies is to claim that Bush started the spending spree and if you supported Bush, you have no right to complain. Well, it is fairly obviuous that the last election showed Republican's & conservative's opinion of Bush's fiscal policies and I might add, immigration policies. McCain offered no change.

Unfortunately, Obama's idiotic spending policies will increase the tax burden and cost of living for every man, woman, and child in the US. His revisions to the tax code will see 50% of the work force having a net income tax liability of zero or less, i.e. subsidy check courtesy of those who pay taxes, and 50% of the work force reduced to conscript status to pay for the free-loaders who will pay nothing or receive gov't checks.

To reverse this travesty:

1. Impeach Obama for incompetence.

2. Institute a "Flat Tax" as proposed by Steve Forbes. I think that if you live and work in the USA, you should share in the cost of the benefits that you enjoy courtesy of federal, state, and local governments. The flat tax will accomplish this. Voters will be less likely to vote for extravagent social programs if they have to help pay for them.

3. Stop giving away our national treasure to every country in the world that has it's hand out. The money seldom gets to the people that actually need it.

4. Maintain our sovereignty. Rescind every agreement that Obama is making that subrogates US Sovereignty to foreign entitis such as the UN, The Financial Standards Board (FSB) a newly created board that will have regulatory authority over the G-20 countries. This administration is giving away the farm and will not be happy until the US uunder control of an international or worldwide government of some type.

5. Impeach Obama for ceding US autonomy to foreign powers. As far as I'm concerned, it is treasonous.

B.O.'s Red Ink
Posted this right after the election: Thugocracy based on the Commie Model. We the people have a lot to look forward to: 1) Ideology that is completely at odds with the intentions of the Fore Fathers, 2) Carefully concealed deployment of the socialistic agenda that will be rife with corruption and deceit, 3) The systemic dismantling of institutions, not necessarily in name but in the core reasons for their existence, so as to serve this ideology, 4) A rapid decline from super power status to a large banana-obama republic with Castro-like ideology driving its mediocre accomplishments, 5) Social upheaval with high risk for violence, 6) A stagnant economy or worse, and 7) National Security problems up the wazoo.

The open democratic process intended by the framers of the Constitution has been seriously compromised by this administration and congress. It's time for a Tea Party!

The same grossly incompetent and corrupt politicos who were complicit up to their eyeballs in the financial crisis are now going to fix that mess?!? And citizens are now gullible enough to allow these same miscreants to craft a sure abomination of a healthcare system?!? We can not let these bunglers and thieves loose on these crucially important problems unless we first “clean house” by throwing these idiots out of office and start with a fresh slate. Then establish new rules of ethics, conduct, and accountability, including pay-for-performance, limiting terms in office, and benefits more like on main street, and even then we need HEAVY citizen oversight of their deeds with no let up because as soon as our heads are turned, they’ll fall off the “good conduct” wagon.

Looking forward...
Personally, I hope the appointed, un-elected bureaucrats do impose the egregious cap-n-crap by fiat 'rule-making' dictate.

I suspect it will be just the thing some will view as the proverbial straw which breaks their backs and tips the apple cart.

Can't wait.

Happy Now?

What we can do, part 2
[5] Don't accept the blaming of previous administrations. Those administrations are not on the ballot. Admit that mistakes were made, but WE WERE NOT ATTACKED FOR SEVEN YEARS! If we are attacked with a nuclear bomb, nothing else matters very much, does it? Our national security is rapidly evaporating as the world watches Bambi in action (or inaction).

[6] Don't let Obama use his distraction tactic. Whenever he's trying to slide something past us, he manufactures some phony issue to get everyone's attention diverted elsewhere. Be aware and don't let it happen.

[7] Keep the heat on Barry's lack of citizenship. This is a valid hope for immediate change. Public pressure stopped Comprehensive Immigration. Public pressure can force this issue.

[8] Hard as it is, try to offer alternatives to Barry's overtures. Complaining alone just makes us complainers. We are rightly criticized for not offering alternatives. The Republicans have very recently been good about this. They are voting en masse against the obscene spending bills and writing up alternatives, whether or not they get any attention. They are establishing a record of action that can be tapped in the next election.

[9] Answer erroneous "information" spouted by your colleagues. I hear all kinds of things being said in my lunch room that simply are not true. I firmly, but quietly, counter these charges. Otherwise, these comments stay with the uncommited.

[10] Encourage your conservative friends. The reasons are obvious.

Let's have another 1994 in 2010! Our futures depend on it!

Current of economic affairs
The United States is in serious trouble with President Obama. This is the inevitable consequence of electing some one totally unqualified to serve as commander in chief of this country. My ancestors have been in this country since 1630 and would be appalled by the sheer incompetence of the present administration and of the present Congress. These were people of self reliance who fought in for freedom in 1776 on both sides of the War Between the States (relative by marriage to the ancestors of Abraham Lincoln), every significant war fought to preserve the United States from World War I to World War II. My ancestors fought to give me opportunities I enjoy today. They did not fight and sacrifice blood to see this country lose its freedoms and progress to a socialist driven "give up "mentality epitomized by the current administration. To be succinct : "you get what you earn: if you are not a believer in this country and being productive then you are my enemy and can expect my resistance". Common sense tells you that you cannot spend or borrow your way out of a debt crisis. Its time for America to get serious about being adults and expose the present political elite for the frauds they are.

Hmm
Jan 19,2009 deficit spending is ruining the country. Jan 20,2009 deficit spending is necessary and so brilliant we triple its rate. It may be change, but not the kind I believe in.

Meanwhile, down in Bolivia
the government of another socialist head case, Evo Morales, is giving us a preview of our fate.

Three years ago, Morales seized the oil and gas industries. Chronic shortages predictably followed.

Farmers unable to get their crops to market faced a stark choice: let all the harvest rot or convert some of to biodiesel and try to transport the rest. Unfortunately, turning food into fuel is illegal in Bolivia, though turning it into garbage isn't. Consequently, these farmers face another stark choice: go broke or go to jail. Many of them won't be farmers much longer in any event, for Morales has begun seizing land and awarding it to his supporters, as Mugabe did in Zimbabwe. Soon there will be chronic shortages of food, too.

None of this makes the slightest sense. But Morales wants to spread the suffering around, and he's powerful enough to get his way. No doubt he, too, reminds opponents that he won.

Brace yourselves.

Global Warming
As yourself these very simple questions. Can you prevent the event, Global Warming, from occurring if countries like China and India do not do their part in reducing the greenhouse gases that they emit? If you were the leader of either one of these countries would you ask your people to make significant sacrifices, which in turn would affect their standard of living, to make the necessary sacrifices to prevent the event from happening, when they are already struggling to live a halfway decent life. If these countries are not wiling to reduce their greenhouse gase emissions, what good does it do, if the United States ask their people to make the necessary sacrifices? Whatever the sacrifices are, there is still another important question. When you address a problem like Global Warming a quantitative goal would be nreally nice. What is the quantitative goal that we are trying to achieve? What must you do, if you do not meet the goals you set?

global warming?
Who knows why Greenland was so named? (Answer: it was once a verdant land.) Did the polar bears become extinct? Did low lying coastlands disappear? Fluctuations in global temperatures are minuscule and NOT caused by humans. The furor over climate change is a pretext for a governmental power grab.

Found this while surfing
http://www.orble.com/crude-reasoning/

It was in response to a very similar article in Investor's Business Daily, and it only addresses the economic impact of off-shore drilling, but it's applicable and interesting (to me, anyway).

None of any of this matters
The earth has been warmer and colder and will be warmer and colder again according to its own schedule, about which mankind was not considered before and won't be considered again.

CO2 is not a pollutant, does not cause global warming (or we'd always be baking hot), and has only been detected in slight rises in the atmonsphere AT THE ENDS OF ICE AGES and periods of extreme cold.

The problem with the so-called greens and enviros is that they want the world frozen in some 1850's paradisal state, which, if we could approach such a goal, would never last, because the earth is ALWAYS changing and doesn't need humans to direct any of its processes.

If the sun is warming the entire solar system, as it may be, we could reducce carbon emissions to zero and no change would occur.

Cap and trade is a snake oil salesman's pitch to lower US standards of living, bankrupt coal and oil, line the pockets of politicians (who hardly need it; Joe Biden at $500,000 a year is considered a *poor* Senator), and make the rest of us slaves to energy.

STOP CONGRESS BY LETTING THEM KNOW YOU OPPOSE ALL OF THIS SCHEME.

Go to a tea party. I am going to one Wed. Notify your local media, as the MSM has decided not to cover the tea party movement. That means to Katie and Matt and the rest of the elite MSM, if they don't report it, it doesn't exist. *1984* newspeak krap is there ever was any.

0.7 degrees up in 100 years
I'd love to trash the Democrats on global warming. The Republican Party hasn't served much more than words on the subject. Bush allowed lies to manifest about global warming, WMD's, Niger yellow cake, the sub prime market, Russia, and so on. He let the liberals mold his administration, to suit their view points. They lied and he let them. Why, because he couldn't speak well in public. Not good enough! Mc Cain fought hard in the primaries. Then pulled every punch against Obama and his radical associations. He even made Palin look bad after she made him look good. The agenda of this one party is not entirely clear. And it really is one f***ing party. If Democrats are out of control then the Republicans are enablers. We should have built nuclear power plants and drilled for more oil decades ago. We know it now and we knew it back then. We would have made trillions by now. So now we have a government going into hysteria over 0.7 degrees in 100 years of record. The old super power is the new stupid power. We are in an oligarchy.

The coming libtard disaster
This says it all : " Cap-and-tax will also clobber manufacturing and heavy-industry jobs. "
I guess they'ell have to tax to put unemployment and welfare into the hands of those whose jobs they destroy.
We're on a tear like never before, and piling it on top of the already bloated social welfare state and federal control of nearly everything is a recipe for disaster no matter what.
The democrats made a gigantic error fighting nuclear power and drilling/mining carbon based fuels for the last 40 years - it has caused so much pain and suffering and war - war for oil they won't let us extract ourselves.
Let's face it, they are INSANE. Now, to cover their GIGANTIC mistakes, they are set to make some more. Time for the democrats to GO HOME after resigning, and let some real people run the country without their government hands in EVERYTHING. Their little home for every illegal alien and minority destroyed the WORLD ECONOMY, now they want more chances to screw it all up.
Watch, in 20 years the disaster will be so enournmous, and they'ell blame - of big business and wall street greed or something.
I was CRINGING watching the jet set demotard Congress grilling corporate and oil execs for their plane flights, when we ALL KNOW Congress jumps on those very same private jets 365 days of the year - for every imaginable excuse under the sun. Plus, they gank in billions and billions and billions in oil taxes, making more per gallong than "the greedy oil companies" whose dividends the CONGRESS collects in their personal fortune portfolios.

But you see ... it must be so.
We must save Mother Earth. Man is a virus and needs erradication. Or at least a severe culling. Not kidding. This is the hidden agenda behind the actions this very god article points out are being foisted upon a once free people.

Maybe there will be a back lash when folks wake up and find that China and India own the planet lock stock and barrel. Stupid enviro-whacko-libtards!

What's the problem?
The US is going to be poor, some other countries will be rich, the poor will stay, the rest will move onto greener pastures. Nothing is forever! The truly fantastic, memorable things about the US: the warp speed with which it went from top to bottom.

Worthy Of A WWF Smackdown

In corner #1, the Goreligionists, many in the Administration, who want to spend trillions on perfecting a missile that MIGHT work and send it into space to POLLUTE the atmosphere so as to curb GOBULL Warming.

In corner #2, the offshore oil and gas industry.

Now, we (in corner #2) could shut-in production for TWO WEEKS, when only a medium-sized hurricane can cause gasoline to spike to upwards of $6 or $7 a gallon, or wait for the supposed nirvana of post-missile launch climate regulate.

Keep in mind that CO2 has never had anything to do with hurricanes and Christopher Colombus' galleons weren't pulled by Hummers.

My money is on Contestant #2! Anyday!

Yes, someone said, these people are insane and I agree. Afterall, what kind of government puts forth a "smoke a fa-g, save a child" healthcare policy, i.e., taxation of S-chip? (Fa-g being British slang for cigarette as in, "Can I bum a fa-g?). What will happen to the wee ones when dem ole taxpaying smokers are DEAD?

Jesus is Risen - He is Alive

Hallelujah, "He is risen!"
Jesus is gone up on high!
Burst the bars of death asunder;
Angels shout, and men reply:
He is risen, He is risen,
Living now, no more to die.

Hallelujah He is risen!
Our exalted Head to be;
Sends the witness of the Spirit
That our Advocate is He:
He is risen, He is risen,
Justified in Him are we.

Hallelujah, He is risen!
Death for all has lost his sting;
Christ, Himself the Resurrection,
From the grave "His own" will bring:
He is risen, He is risen,
Living Lord and coming King.

oh Death Where Is Thy Sting,
grave, Where's Thy Victory,
in Three Days, The Stone Rolled Away.
stone Rolled Away,
an Empty Grave Proves What I Say,
he Lives Today.

Stimulus that works
We the people pay all taxes, and we are the only ultimate source of all tax revenue. Regardless where government initially collects it, all tax money ultimately comes from us, the people.
Since we the people are the one and only source of all tax revenue:
There should be only one tax to collect all tax revenue.
It should be a single, simple, fair, direct, graduated, individual, full-income tax levied on living persons for each level of government: One Tax and Done.
You cannot convince a person or corporation to start a new business or expand an existing business, increase jobs, and hire new employees, when you tax away the capitol he is using to operate his PRESENT business
The best thing that government can do to help the country, the people, and even government, is to repeal all of the many hundreds, or thousands of existing taxes, fees, and charges. These taxes are the federal deficit. These taxes are the high price of everything. These tax eliminations are spending cuts. Every tax that is eliminated is a tax that we the people no longer have to pay. These taxes are the difference between the price we pay for health care and everything else, and the price we would pay if these taxes were repealed. Eliminating these taxes will remove them from the price paid for everything by everyone.
One Tax and Done will provide many benefits to all, even government:
One Tax and Done will reduce the price paid for everything by one-third.

Obamba's plan
In January 2009, The Obamessiah became President of the United States. HIS first action in office was to destroy all nuclear weapons; the second to eliminate all fossil fuel sources. Behold, nuclear weapons and fossil fuels no longer existed on Earth.
Behold, the planet was covered with solar-panel fields, and windmill forests, which don’t produce electricity when the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow.

After ten years, there was only peace and harmony on the planet, because, for five years, the noises and vibrations from the windmills drove many people to suicide, and the solar panels killed most food plants. The 2014 Ice Age froze the people who hadn’t starved, because there wasn’t any heat for their homes, and destroyed the windmills and solar-panels. Everybody died except for The Obamessiah, Algore, and 12 other liberals living in the hydroponic garden in the bunker below Mount Rushmore.

One day, the Mount Palomar Observatory said that “The Asteroid”, an outer space rock the size of The Alps, was on a collision course with Earth, as a 2008 NOVA documentary warned.

One liberal got out the file on “The Asteroid” to find out what to do. The instructions were to launch six, 20-megaton nuclear missiles and land them on “The Asteroid”, and then detonate them one-by-one, three seconds apart. The phased explosions should divert “The Asteroid” from hitting Earth.

Then one liberal said, “We can’t do this! HE beholded the missiles and fuel out of existence! We don’t have missiles to launch and fuel to launch them.”

Then they said, “HE can behold “The Asteroid” not to hit the earth.”

After telling HIM about “The Asteroid”, the liberals realized that HE was actually the Twelfth Imam, THE ONE that, back in 2007, Muslim terrorists said would destroy the world in two years. Two years after 2007, was when The Obamessiah “beholded” the missiles and fuel out of existence.

We need global warming, not Gorebull.
The reason that so much of this planet has had drought for so many centuries is that we’ve been in an ice age, and the water needed for normal condensation has been frozen into glaciers. Glaciers are frozen water needed as condensation for barren and frozen lands of this planet, causing drought and flooding. When glaciers melt, some water runs into the oceans. Some water thaws the ground below where the glacier was, and soaks into the ground. Some water evaporates into the upper atmosphere where it becomes normal rainfall for the whole world.

The heat of the sun, clean air, and the absence of cold from glaciers and sea ice would cause more water to be evaporated from the oceans, lakes, and rivers into the upper atmosphere than there presently is; and the winds would blow it evenly around the world, providing normal rainfall world-wide, even where there presently is drought, and barren and frozen land, preventing flooding.

The worldwide rainfall would cause long-dormant seeds in barren lands to sprout and grow into new plants: The best way to go green. The new plants would inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen, which we breathe. There would be so many new plants, that we might have to increase the amount of carbon dioxide we generate, to provide enough for all of them

If the glacier in Greenland would melt, the codfish would return, and the land could be farmed, as it was when originally colonized by Vikings, millennia ago.

Many parts of the world have record amounts of snow and ice. Arctic ice is as thick as it was in the 1970’s when an ice age was predicted. Polar bears, which had thrived during the previous decade, are heading south to escape the severe cold. We’re entering another ice age in 2014. We must drill and pump all our own oil, shale oil, natural gas, and mine our coal as soon as possible to have them available for use.

Bring Video Cameras to the Tea Party
Be prepared to document any provocation and thuggery by Obama operatives. ACORN has become the Obama-Emanuel equivalent of Hitler's Brown Shirts. This is a dangerous government.

You were were warned during 2008 election, America, and now you must deal with the consequences. It is incumbent upon every real American to take back the country.

WAKE UP, AMERICA, OR DIE IN YOUR SLEEP!!

Unless
Unless enough Americans complain about what is happening and are willing to complain for a long enough period of time, nothing will change, because apparently many politicians are not listening to the complaints. And why should they? Most of them know that they will get re-elected regardless of what they do while in office. At some point, enough Americans have to make their opinions have some weight, by voting some of these people who are not interested in addressing the problem out of office and to not vote new ones to take their place, for it to eventually work. In other words we need to walk the talk, not just talk.

physical freedom
When the political junkies who populate this board think of freedom, they think of things in the Bill of Rights. To the religious person (I am one), freedom of religion is most important; others keep pointing out other guaranteed rights and freedoms. But the US had one other freedom, one more basic, in a lot of ways, that European nations never had: physical freedom. We had the frontier. If you got mad at the authorities, you had to simply trot over the next hill, and you were free of them. This trotting began early; I believe Roger Williams was run out of the commie-wealth of Massachusetts back in the 1630's by the Puritans. He just went off and started his own colony in Rhode Island -- over the next hill.

And it just so happened that when the frontier disappeared (except for Alaska), in the 1890's, something even more wonderful came along: the automobile. Here was the ability for every Joe & Jane Sixpack to go wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted -- and thus to live pretty much wherever they wanted. Once again, Americans had physical freedom.

Of all the things cap-and-trade will destroy, one of the most precious is physical freedom -- to ability to go where we want, when we want, and thus, within some basic laws, to do what we want. For years the libs in general, an Algorians in general, have been trying to force us into public transportation. Public transportation is a huge limit on physical freedom. If you take away the automobile, you take away true physical freedom -- and America is no longer America.

Libs in general hate freedom. The only "freedoms" they seem to favor are sexual license and legalizing dope. You can say what you want, but one of the reasons they hate cars and want to make them unaffordable is that they hate freedom.

RE: When?
Have the world leaders and business moguls forgot their history. Yes it takes a lot for the general population to get angry but when they do? Oh yeah things get a bit bloody then. Remember the French revolution? It could be just an appetizer to what is in store the world over. People have to have hope. Destroy their hope, over burden them, manipulate too much, be too cruel and the gullentine and worse can happen. This is expecially true if people figure they may be next.

Driessen
I am betting that ultimately you will be proven
wrong.

The Plague
Obama and his minions are closet Marxists. They will only exit the closet when and if their power is great enough to do so. Wherever Marxists go a plague of economic stagnation, penury, misery, malnutrition, and premature death follow.

Where are the TROLLS???
As I've said on this thread TOO many times I suspect, the Congress of the US cannot police their own members/Behaviour or attend to ROUTINE
Legislative manners..How in the name of Heavens can they be expected to be put in charge of the Weather?? Just thought I'd ask..CHEERS
