Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

The tide is asking us to allow ruthless and evil totalitarians in Iran and Syria to seize victory.

The tide is asking us to blow American credibility for fifty years.

Fortunately, in the middle of all this, in the middle of James Baker's wishful thinking Iraq

Study Group fog, along comes John McCain, reminding Americans we have two choices: win or lose.

That’s called courage. That’s called principle. That’s called leadership.

Of course, this is John McCain we’re talking about here. Many conservative bloggers are very unhappy with him over a number off issues for which they disapprove of his position or style. So it’s all the more surprising when bloggers like Matt Lewis or Doug Lambert say kind things about him.

Hugh is also concerned that Sen. McCain’s campaign, should he chose to run, possesses “very little in the way to suggest it will have reach into Iowa, New Hampshire or beyond.”

I appreciate Hugh’s concern. But here is some video I shot recently of Sen. McCain with a group of Republican state senators in New Hampshire. He seems to have some “reach” here in my Granite State, wouldn’t you say? And as the Caucus Cooler blog pointed out very recently, McCain is making some significant advances in Iowa, as well.

Of course, it’s early. And Sen. McCain has a lot of work to do if he plans to be the Republican nominee for President of the United States. One could credibly argue that McCain is not, in fact, the frontrunner, as Rudy Giuliani routinely leads most polls. And Sen. McCain has a lot of relationship building to do with bloggers. Some will be unwilling to hear him out. Others will be willing to hear him out but will remain unpersuaded. And some, in time, may come around. But as both Human Events and Power Line have pointed out, we are reaching out to bloggers openly and aggressively.

America, regain your freedom!
Paula Jo, we think alike. I remember the old motion picture about "The Manchurian Candidate" and it sends chills down my spine. I cannot fathom any reader/voter who would vote for this clown. I respect his wartime record and admire the man who lived through it. But, something about his action is not right. Many sense it, others know it, readers and bloggers have proved it.

The shamnesty is one of the mosst aggravating issues to arise in the history of our nation. I have never been ignored by more politicians. I do not vote for people who are not solidly in back of our Constitution, Bill of Rights and those who uphold our laws, as their oaths of office require. Kennedy, Kerry, Clinton(s), Specters, McCain and too many others, have long surpassed their usefullness to America. Time for them to retire forever, with the help of the informed American voters. Now, if we could just get those voters focused on the real issues. No amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, voting out those who support this amnesty policy and vote those out who will not stay out of decisions which they are not qualified to make, converning our military stratagies. Take the muzzles off the dogs of war, and keep biting the terrorists until they cease and desist from their acts of terror. Force is what they understand and they do not understand the acts of compassion. Harden your hearts against and enemy who wishes to totally destroy you and your children and wipe you from the face of the earth. Stand up America and fight back in the face of the enemy until they have realized that they are not going to win this mattle. Keep in mind that it is they who wish to come here and take over our way of life, and not our desire and take their way of life from them. Freedom is a tough concept to understand when you have been so supporessed, that you have not even dared to dream or understand that word called FREEDOM! Take a paraphrased old battle cry of the socialists and echo back, "Voters of America, arise and throw off your chains, you have nothing to lose but your left wing liberals!"

Okay, explain it to me.
I'm not a neocon; I'm a moderate. I am well aware THAT so many conservative Republicans really loathe Senator McCain, but I've only got a vague reason why. And to be honest, the "why" doesn't seem to have a lot of substance (or at least to me it doesn't seem like it has a lot of substance).

I heard enough of Rush Limbaugh's character assassination of McCain to know that the Republican right just doesn't like the guy, but from the other end (the middle and the left) the guy seems like a normal Republican.

But that might be just because I'm not from that end of the spectrum. Maybe, in a similar vein, the neocons here don't get why so many Democrats (conservative, moderate, or leftist) despise Hillary.

So could some of you provide some concrete reasons why you dislike McCain so much? Please don't include imaginary Black babies he fathered. :)
