Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

WASHINGTON -- "Can we all get along? … Let's try to work it out." That was Rodney King's plaintive plea in May 1992, after his highly controversial confrontation with the Los Angeles Police Department led to arson and anarchy. Now, 17 years later, the Obama administration apparently has made "get along" its response to every national security test. So far, it has been the wrong answer.

Since Mr. Obama's announced his deadline for pulling U.S. combat troops out of Iraq, there has been a spike in violence in the Land Between the Rivers. His decision to "open a direct dialogue" with the theocrats ruling in Tehran has yielded thus far an Iranian satellite launch -- using North Korean ICBM technology -- a check ride on Iran's Russian-built Bushehr nuclear plant, and, just in case we didn't get the message, rejected visa applications for the U.S. women's badminton team.

"Nice guy" diplomacy hasn't worked very well elsewhere, either. Pakistan replied to the administration's "let's get along" overture by allowing Dr. A.Q. Khan -- the world's most notorious nuclear weapons proliferator -- to travel and "resume scientific research." Hamas responded to the promise of $1 billion in U.S. "reconstruction funds" by showering Israeli civilians with Iranian-made, Syrian-delivered, Egyptian-facilitated rockets.

Syrian strongman Bashar Assad's answer to last week's White House proffer of "dialogue with Damascus" came this week, when he told visiting Japanese journalists that such talks would "have to involve" the Iranian-controlled terror group Hezbollah. For those who may have forgotten, the only terror organization that has killed more Americans than Hezbollah is al-Qaida -- on Sept. 11.

The "O-Team's" offer to "reboot" the U.S.-Russia relationship was so moving that Moscow bribed Kyrgyzstan's government into booting U.S. troops from Manas Air Base, a crucial base for supporting allied operations in Afghanistan. The Kremlin followed up by forging ahead with plans to sell advanced S-300 (SA-10) surface-to-air missiles to Tehran, presumably to help protect Iranian nuclear facilities.

With this track record as a preamble, it is not surprising that the People's Republic of China decided to conduct a little "O-Test" of its own. On Feb. 22, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton concluded two days of "very promising" meetings in Beijing by emphasizing that "the United States and China have a positive, cooperative relationship." Five days later, the U.S. and China resumed direct military-to-military "consultations" -- talks that had been suspended in 2008, when the Bush administration sold Patriot air defense missiles to Taiwan. It went downhill from there.

On March 4, Chinese ships and aircraft commenced harassing the USNS Impeccable and the USNS Victorious while they were operating in international waters. The two unarmed, civilian-manned vessels (with U.S. Navy personnel aboard to operate specialized equipment) are designated as ocean surveillance ships. Both are equipped with the newest generation of submarine tracking sonar, known as SURTASS LFA.

The Victorious -- operating in the Yellow Sea, between the Korean Peninsula and mainland China -- was approached at night by a Chinese patrol vessel using a high-intensity spotlight to blind lookouts on the ship's bridge momentarily. The Impeccable -- operating about 75 miles off the coast of Hainan Island, which is a major Chinese naval and submarine base in the South China Sea -- was "buzzed" repeatedly by Chinese Y-12 maritime patrol aircraft and then surrounded by no fewer than five Chinese vessels.

According to the official complaint filed with Beijing by the commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific Command, the confrontation required the Impeccable to "maneuver to avoid" a collision with a Chinese navy frigate; the Chinese ships approached to within 25 feet of the U.S. vessel; and "high pressure water hoses were employed" to prevent the ships from being boarded. A Defense Department spokesman said that Chinese sailors made "an attempt to snag the Impeccable's towed acoustic array sonar" and described the incident as evidence of "increasingly aggressive conduct by Chinese vessels."

Provocations by the increasingly assertive People's Republic of China are nothing new. Nor are "tests" for new administrations by foreign rivals. George W. Bush was in office for less than 40 days when a Chinese J-8 fighter, harassing a U.S. Navy EP-3 70 miles off Hainan Island, collided with the slower, less maneuverable U.S. surveillance plane. The pilot of the Chinese fighter was killed; the EP-3 made an emergency landing on Hainan, and the crew was detained for 11 days. After the crew and plane were released, the U.S. suspended military-to-military talks with China.

Whether that was a sufficient response to a Chinese-provoked near catastrophe is arguable. But it was certainly more forceful than the Obama administration's continued affirmation that it wants to proceed with codifying the U.N. Law of the Sea Treaty. According to China, LOST precludes intelligence collection within their claimed 200-mile offshore "exclusive economic zone." Coupled with the warm welcome to Washington offered to Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi this week, it's enough to make one wonder whether the "O-Team" ever will pass the test. Can't we just get along?

Democrats never learn
It is a corollary to the axiom, "Liberalism is a mental disorder"...Democrats never learn. Every time the memory-impaired American public temporarily turns over the Oval Office to a Democrat, we end up militarily weakened and endangered. Already our super-advanced F-22 stealth fighter is being hacked to death by the Rogue African.

Also, the Kenyan Muslim-in-Chief has already shown his colors by pandering to Hamas and Hezbollah, to the detriment of our true ally, Israel. With a nod of approval from this possible president ( nobody really knows if he legally is or isn't...), the terrorists in the Middle East know they have a brother in the White House and a green light now to attack. Israel is going to have to fight for its survival again very soon. And the US will be dragged into the conflict...the only question is, on which side???

Idiot in Chief
The messiah doesn't want to "militarize" our borders. We may have to abandon Afghanistan, Iraq and every base we have around the world, just to defend our borders.

That is, except for the borders of Alaska, which the Idiot In Chief will give to Russia if they promise him some magic beans.

Will no one rid us
of this meddling priest?

Welcome To The Obamination!
Our new president is showing himself, and his administration, to be totally inept on the world scene. This is not surprising as Obama has no executive experience, no foreign experience, no diplomatic experience, and no military experience.

However, he does has experience at being a party organizer at the "city" level in Chicago.

Welcome to "Hope and Change"!

I sincerely "Hope" that President Obama doesn't take our nation to a "place" that will require a 100 year period to clean up the debt and mess.

As for the "Change"? So far, all I have left is about $0.37.

Like some of the t-shirts say:
Welcome back Carter!

Beachmom
Go on back,
Though your dreams were your ticket out.
Go on back,
To that same old place that you from now
Cause the names haven't all changed since you been around,
But those crooks are deranged and they're going down.
Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
back there we don't need ya (there where we don't need ya)
Yeah a weasel we got, we don't like him in the spot, don't like him in the spot, go on back,go on backgo on back!

Shades of "Pueblo"
I certainly hope these two USNS ships had better armament than Pueblo, or that they had 'quick respone' aircraft to make the point no one screws around with the USN in International waters. The new Law of the Sea was one avoided by the Bush administration for years since it would/did remove the 'free passage' rules that have existed since at least 1918. Unfotuneately, our current crop of Admirals, from Mullins on down, are to damn 'political' and not enough military. Obama will kiss the behind of the Chinese, probably give them a Billion or two in "reperations", then go on tv and tell us how brave he was. Sickening.

BARACK HUSSEIN ALLENDE

Barack Hussein Obama rode on the back of the antiwar movement into presidential history. No toppling of Saddam Hussein, no President B. Hussein Obama. The man with the middle name “Hussein” opposed regime change in Iraq and the forceful ousting by U.S. forces of the murdering dictator believing that he could be stopped, tamed and contained-a completely wrongheaded notion as the man's terrorist activities were uncontainable and dangerously growing. But I wonder, is it mere happenstance that Obama shares the same name as the ill starred dictator, the name "Hussein?" Is his own middle name a warning to Obama about the fate he could suffer if he goes too far in his transformational project to Europeanize and collectivize capitalist America?

When I think about both men I notice that they share one very troubling trait between them: for like Saddam Hussein B. Hussein Obama is a madman, a man for whom no catastrophe is too big or disaster too great to bring him to reason and stop him.

Click my name and read the rest of The Man With Hussein for his Middle Name, or Barack Hussein Allende

Change
I hope our "change" isn't $6.66!

Warm welcome
for the chinese foreign minister..I guess that means DVD's weren't included in the welcoming gifts. Lord have mercy on U.S.

actually
at least one U.S. Destroyer is now escorting the ship that was attacked. Finally a decision I can agree with. However, the article I read said that it was a naval decision-not a presidental one. Shouldn't this be a commander in chief decision? But I guess that would be abve his "pay grade."

traitorbill, examinig navel lint is
above his paygrade! Can we impeach him yet??

Jim & Hosquatch
also surrender-monkey-in-chief 0'blunder actually invited members of La Raza (a group whose specific mission is to "win back by demographic annexation" lands lost 160 years ago by Mexico), so he's rather likely to withdraw troops and bases from Texas, Californication (Vandenburg, from which US does missile tests--oh, I forgot 0'blunder deems these unnecessary), Arizona, Nevada (Tonopah), New Mexico (White Sands), ...

RNW, what would be 0'blunder's paygrade, choosing between:
(*) ragpicking (the ACTUAL version, closest equivalent in US is dumpster-diving)
(*) cleaning boots with tongue (well, he's been doing that anyway to Hamass and Castros so...)

Unfortunately beachmom
0'blunder has already gone one place in a way even Dhimmi Carter didn't--to Ottawa holding an almsbowl!

Obama's Diplomacy?
We can expect more great Democrat led diplomatic gains from here forward. These rough beginnings are to be expected by astute followers of the Obama team. In the future, as the money for the next Obama campaign starts comming in everything will turn up roses in the press. Let me recall, didn't Clinton have a real cozy relationship with China when he sold the SuperComputers to them for their research at the University? It is a shame that some of the computers got misplaced and have never been found since. Damn the luck. China now has some of the quietest subs in the world.
Watch the Obama team sell out Israel. They will shortly force Israel to give up Judea, Samaria and the Golan Heights as well as Gaza and Jerusalem to the enemies of Israel. It doesn't get any better than this, nothing like a liberal administration to destroy freedom in the world.
How do you feel about Nuclear Iran??? Just thought I would ask, because it is on the way. Maybe by next year.
What do you think about giving the U.N. $750B per year for "World Hunger Relief"?? Seems like a great idea to me, after all our small businesses can well afford that tax. Just as our President and his foriegn travel team.

Why is this criminal
still acceptable in public discourse?

"North was a National Security Council member involved in the clandestine sale of weapons to Iran, which served to encourage the release of U.S. hostages from Lebanon. North formulated the second part of the plan: diverting proceeds from the arms sales to support the Contra rebel group In Nicaragua."

GET OUT OF HERE, NORTH! WE WANT HONEST, INTELLIGENT, AND MORALLY ACCOUNTABLE DISCOURSE!

Paranoid...
Get a grip and get on topic.

Connect The Dots
There are many in the military and intelligence communities who are talking about these events. This article connects a few of the dots, but there are so many more.

Thanks to the idiots who were so afraid the world was laughing at us and voted for Obama, we are now being laughed at by the people who want to kill us.

HEY BARRY.................

.......are you catching all this? YOU SUCK AND YOUR ADMINISTRATION SUCKS!

On an unrelated note:

"Paranoid" and "Mystic".......from California - gee, what a surprise.

Comrades in arms
You are right, Catherine. There are also those in the same communities who understand, only too well, Mr. O's propensity for Marxism.

Because of his background, Mr. O. would not pass the military's first-level security clearance. He would not be a candidate for the FBI. He wouldn't even qualify for a police officer's job.

Yet this man is now leader of the free world? What's wrong with this picture?

Those wascally Russians
Selling weapons to an unstable Islamic dictatorship right under our noses! I'm glad Peter North is here to dig up the facts. This sort of garbage never would have been allowed when Ronald Reagan was president.

I AM, HOW ABOUT YOU?

Michael W.
"Reagan Democrat"

Mr. North
The "Middle East" is not Compton. You cannot distribute "Crack" there. Have you not screwed up this country enough? Go home to your family,if they'll have you. You have been a "Disgrace" to this nation. If you love America, leave "US" alone? PLEASE....

Oliver
Is this article an advertisement for your Defense stocks? The world has no need to destroy America and we are not as "Dumb" as those you commanded. You had a chance to pass the test of "Honor" and you "Failed"! Only a "Fool", would listen to your comments and believe them... JUST GO AWAY...

Oliver North
paranoidmystic is living in another world. Oliver North is one of the few true patriots of this century. He circumvented (broke the law) the amendment passed by Congress prohibiting aid to the CONTRAS. Congress smartened up, and rescinded their own law later.
If, prior to and during WWII, some German citizens and military had acted in violation of some of the Fatherlands laws, the greater tradjety could have been avoided.

OBUMMER AND THE MARINES
MR NORTH: CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT DIS-RESPECT OBUMMER SHOWED THE MARINES AT PERRIS ISLAND AWHILE BACK WHEN HE WAS THERE? THNXS-JW

Don't be so negative
Quit worrying, y'all. As soon as all these countries and terrorist organizations realize that we mean them no harm, they'll all WANT to please The O.

Most likely they'll lay down their arms and dance in the streets, celebrating their new freedom from the imperialist United States.

And then when they realize that the oceans are going to stop rising, their bliss will be complete.

Or not.

You know, it never ceases to amaze me at how the criminal punk in chief's minions show up at sites they know are going to contain conservative views & then proceed to make complete asses of themselves. No wonder It's the party mascot!

God bless you, Oliver North!

My 13 year old daughter now wears a vintage "I Support Ollie North" t-shirt I wore when I was in my in my twenties. (eons ago) She knows what to say when someone asks her about it also.

God bless America!

Does she say: "I support Cocaine dealers who terrorize civillians as long as they oppose socialists as well?"

Party mascots
Randall,
Refer to my previous comment regarding those who make party mascots of themselves. You are doing an excellent job of it.

Go back to your hopey-changey sites, please.

You wouldn't make a pimple on Oliver North's rear end.

God bless America!

North's lame article
Article says Continued ....... but I found no Page 2.

Steve,

Scroll back up from comments & you will find the rest of the article.

That's a pretty lame comment, oh, you're in CA.
No wonder.

God bless America!
