Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

This is nuts. I mean, really folks ... we have gone bat-guano insane over this AIG bonus brouhaha. You're being manipulated. The wealth-envy is being stoked. What we have here is a phony outrage wholly generated by the political class to take the minds of the dumb masses (if you're reading aloud, do so slowly) off of the spectacularly irresponsible bailout, stimulus and budget bills that have been passed in recent months. We have an anti-capitalist Democrat party working with a president who thinks that America's greatness is based in government, together with no small number of Republican sycophants, spending this country into oblivion ... and looking for ways to distract your attention in the process.

NO ... I'm not saying that the AIG employees who got these bonuses necessarily earned them. I'm still waiting to meet the man who actually earned every dollar and benefit he has received from his employer. We call him Sully. The Financial Services Division of AIG is a basket case. The fact is, though, AIG had a contractual obligation to pay those bonuses, and failure to do so would have been actionable. A good trial attorney would manage to get double the amount due plus fees. All of the wealth envy and moaning about the evil, disgusting, putrid, worthless rich won't make those contracts void. The decision to pay those bonuses pursuant to the legally enforceable contracts was the right one.

More disgusting than the bonuses, however, is the political reaction to them. If ever there was a time for pitchforks and torches -- this should have been it. Not because of the AIG bonuses ... but because of what transpired in the Congress last week. For the first time that I can remember the Imperial Congress of the United States has passed a law establishing a confiscatory tax to be levied on certain individuals -- not for the purpose of raising revenue -- but strictly for the purpose of punishment. The political class has determined, without the benefit of due process or a trial, that the actions of the AIG employees in accepting these bonuses was a crime, and that crime shall be punished by seizure of the money. Legislation to single out and punish someone without due process is constitutionally forbidden. But who cares? What does the Constitution mean any more anyway?

Saturday night I had to sit meekly, as is my custom, while three fellow CNN panelists blathered on about how these bonuses were paid entirely with bailout funds. Say what? By what magic accounting trick do these rocket surgeons determine that the entire bonuses paid to these AIG so-called "executives" were paid from the very bailout funds that amounted to only nine-hundredths of one percent of the dollar amount of the bonuses paid? Oh, wait! I can answer that myself: It's the same accounting process that causes Chuckie Schumer to declare that "we shouldn't quibble over $200 million dollars" of taxpayer's money spent when the discussion is congressional earmarks, but who then starts spinning around on his eyebrows when a private business fulfills a legal obligation to pay $175 million due pursuant to an enforceable contract.

Thanks to generations of government education, inexorably leading to a populace with only rudimentary thinking skills, most Americans don't readily see the danger in government hosting a popularity contest in which the masses decide who does and who does not deserve to keep what they have earned. Maybe a few news bulletins from the not-so-far future might yank your chain a bit:

"Democrat Congressman Barney (Sylvester) Frank announced today the introduction of legislation calling for a 90% tax on all income in excess of $500,000 paid to any person who foments political dissention on the public's airwaves."

Think about this. If these hacks can use this "public's airwaves" idiocy in order to control what someone says on a radio show, who's to say they couldn't use the same fiction to control income? They control what the radio station can make by limiting commercial minutes and demanding fealty to the "public's interests," so why not extend that control to all on-air personnel? Thank goodness this one wouldn't apply to me. I neither foment dissention nor do I meet the salary cap.

Here's another:

"Speaker Nancy Pelosi dispatched a delegation of flying monkeys this afternoon to deliver a message to the media that she was calling for legislation to establish a 90% tax on all book royalties payable to tall blond women weighing less than 110 pounds."

OK .. got ya to smile. You can come up with your own "punish them with taxes" ideas and put them in the comments section.

The point here is that we have set the precedent whereby is now OK to single out private individuals, demonize them for political advantage, and then march them to the IRS guillotine for a financial beheading. Madam LeFarge for Treasury Secretary. At least she's not a tax cheat.

Tax Day Tea Party Protest Rally on 4/15
Is Everyone Ready For April 15th?
April 15th is the National Tax Day Tea Party Protest Rally: In a town near you.

I'd like to encourage everyone here to find out where and when your local protest rally is being held on April 15th. The Silent Majority, Silent No More.

It's time to roar. America needs a tidal wave of American patriots to come out and ROAR on her behalf.

Every state has protests scheduled for major cities on April 15th and more and more cities are being added to the list of protesters organizing their local events. Even the Blue states have many cities holding protest a protest rally.

If you can possibly take the day off without being fired, please make every effort to attend with your friends and families. America NEEDS each and every one of us to rally for her!

What Can I Say
I LOVE YOU NEAL Oh Yea Tell Them About The FairTax although the Gov. educated idiots won't understand it . Robert

misdirected outrrage
I could not agree more.

Why are people more upset with the millions that AIG spent than they are with the TRILLIONS that our elected "leaders" in DC spend?

Thanks for the reminder about Schumer's comment.

The Inmates Are Running The Asylum
As usual- Boortz nails it.
Smoke and mirrors. The media gins up the public with the AIG outrage while "the other hand" is busy pulling some other bit of nasty business.
Meanwhile- the president is jetting around the country, feeding his ego on Letterman and 60 Minutes.

We need term limits to get rid of the likes a Chuckie Schumer, Bawney's Fwank, Smelly Harry Reid, Countrywide Chris Dodd and Nancy "Stretch" Pelosi.

Keep you eye on the donut, not on the hole people.
Thiese bailouts, TARPs, stimulus packages and this disgusting overblown budget is going to RUIN this Country.
While all the limosine liberals sit back and laugh at the masses.
What- me worry?
You damn betcha!
Tea Party- I'm thinking it's going to be a little "stronger" than tae!

I propose
we tax Congress at 95% of their wealth (not income). Maybe then they will wake up and quit this overspending. Any politician that proposes spending more than they take in should be taxed for the difference.

Dumber than a fox
Is all O's ineptness truly a result of being dumber than a nail or dumb as the voted in fox in the hen house as he brings America down?

Just 60 Days of 4 years!

Again
Possibilities just boggle the mind:

He has:
1. Insulted the British
2. Insulted the French
3. Damaged trade relations with Canada and Columbia
3. $1 Trillion to Gaza
4. Played to Iran Syria Cuba Taliban
5. Lied to the American people along with the Democratic congress.
6. ** Insulted our military **
in so many ways and continues.
7. Has shown a disgust for America and the Constitution.
8. Inept at budgets because there has never been a plan.
9. Has covered for the Democratic sub prime boondoggle.
10. Spending out of control that will bring down America.

And on and on and on

Question: Is Obama as inept as he appears or is he playing to a weakness to carry on the charade as he brings America down?

Can America withstand another 60 days in light of 4 more years?

Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment
Article V of the Constitution specifies that if the legislatures of two-thirds of the states petition Congress for a constitutional amendment on the same subject, then Congress must call a convention for proposing that amendment. Between April 29, 1975 and January 29, 1980, 34 petitions from 30 different state legislatures were submitted to Congress on the subject of a Balanced Budget Amendment. The participating states were Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming. Since 1980, two additional state legislatures have petitioned Congress for a convention for a Balanced Budget Amendment, bringing the total number of participating states to 32. If two additional state legislatures were to petition, then the required two-thirds majority of states would be reached (34 out of 50 states) and Congress would be required to call a convention to propose a Balanced Budget Amendment. In December 2008, the Ohio legislature considered making Ohio the 33rd state to petition for a convention on the subject, but decided against it.

The ONLY WAY you will EVER get the criminals in DC to balance the federal budget is with the petition of 34 State legislatures. WE OWN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT - NOT THE INCOMPETENT CRIMINAL HACKS IN DC! State legislatures across the nation should sound the clarion call to reign in DC; the criminally un-Constitutional and suicidal excesses of thefederal government in DC must periodically be reminded of just where their power originates - THE STATES!

Cont'd...
The apostate government in DC must be put on notice that a Balanced Budget Amendment will be required henceforth by the States. State legislatures should work in unison in crafting strict guidelines for this Amendment, so that the crafty lawyers in DC cannot play legalistic, un-Constitutional games with it in the future. DC is too far gone and beyond control unless the State legislatures step up to the plate. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!

Mon Dieu, Un Autre Faux Pas!!!

Le Figaro reports that Obama sent the former leader of France, Jaques Chirac, a "very nice" letter, which included this idiotic comment:

"I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world."

This is a clear snub to Sarkozy and his pro-War on Terror policies (or at least, more pro-WOT than his predecessor). It's also slightly ridiculous for Bambi to claim to be looking forward to working with an out-of-power French leader, especially when he has made no visible effort to work with France's current one.

The actual President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, who has been trying for months to get a sit-down with President Obama is not amused.

Is this snub revenge for Sarkozy calling Obama's foreign policy "utterly immature" during the campaign?

What is his problem? He keeps p!ssing off countries and their press!

Making a List:

1. Canada: NAFTA fiasco.
2. Poland: missile shield "misunderstanding".
3. UK: Churchhill bust return.
4. Russia: "overcharge" button.
5. UK: insulting gifts to the Browns.
6. France: not realizing that Chirac has been out of power for two years.
7. Brazil: Misspelling the president's name.
8. Mexico: NAFTA
9. India: Thinking Kashmir is Pah-kee-stan.

Some Proud...Many…Discomfited 1

Is this the end of America?
This is the question posed in a March 19, 2009 article written by Terence Corcoran for Canada’s Financial Post.

The opening paragraph of his article reads:

“Helicopter Ben Bernanke’s Federal Reserve is dropping trillions of fresh paper dollars on the world economy, the President of the United States is cracking jokes on late night comedy shows, his energy minister is threatening a trade war over carbon emissions, his treasury secretary is dithering over a banking reform program amid rising concerns over his competence and a monumentally dysfunctional U.S. Congress is launching another public jihad against corporations and bankers.

As an aghast world — from China to Chicago and Chihuahua — watches, the circus-like U.S. political system seems to be declining into near chaos. Through it all, stock and financial markets are paralyzed. The more the policy regime does, the worse the outlook gets. The multi-ringed spectacle raises a disturbing question in many minds: Is this the end of America?”

Going on to talk about the resiliency of Americans past, he goes on to write a little further on:

"Past success, however, is no guarantee of future recovery, especially now when there are daily disasters and new indicators of political breakdown. All developments are not disasters in themselves. The AIG bonus firestorm is a diversion from real issues , but it puts the ghastly political classes who make U.S. law on display for what they are: ageing self-serving demagogues who have spent decades warping the U.S. political system for their own ends. We see the system up close, law-making that is riddled with slapdash, incompetence and gamesmanship."

“One test of whether we are witnessing the end of America is how many more times Americans put up with congressional show trials of individual business people and their employees, slandering and vilifying them for their actions and motives. And for how long will they tolerate a President who berates business and corporations as dens of crime and malfeasance? If the majority of Americans come to accept the caricatures of business as true, then America is closer to the end of its life as a global leader, as a champion of markets and individualism."

Up in Connecticut this weekend, we already got one example of how mindless, easily-duped Obama Kool-aid drinking liberal stooges will react:

By turning their anger against other private citizens under the direction and finger-pointing of those "ageing self-serving demagogues who have spent decades warping the U.S. political system for their own ends," while they pridefully insist that we all continue to "tolerate a President who berates business and corporations as dens of crime and malfeasance."

If you read some of the gho ulish commentary and asinine gloating of the Obama sycophant libtards supporting any and all Democrat nonsense on these threads, and in 100% of our public school system classrooms from kindergarten to graduate school...the end of American life may be closer than you think.

Rather than protest the ineptitude and outright criminality of the den of thieves in Washington, D.C., the brainwashed minions of Obamanation allow themselves to be rounded up like sheep by ACORN brownshirts (or some other middle-aged hippie retread professor-types) and herded into charter buses, to be shuttled to the homes of AIG employees to demonstrate against what they are told is the enemy of the poor: "rich people" (no doubt participating in a sing-along along the way to strains of “Yes we can…can…can—Yes we can…can…can”).

These people are as much culpable for the destruction of our way of life as the denizens of private demonization in high office; never having the intelligence to realize that the only thing they are demonstrating is their ignorance and inability to see the forest for the trees. Seeing only the mote in the "rich" man's eye, the remain unable to see the beam being shoved up their own rectums by the Demonrat –led Congress and the Obamanated White House.

The whole world's watching.

It wasn't enough that he made a complete @ss of himself on Thursday night's Jay Leno show. He's back at it tonight doing the only thing he knows how to do: Mug for the cameras.

As he makes yet another spectacle of himself on 60 Minutes tonight in what amounts to yet another campaign appearance, Barack Hussein Obama will once again show just how vacuous and unconcerned he is with doing any actual work; his overriding and primary concern being personal gratuitous celebrity.

Some Proud...Others...Discomfited 4

What seems to be a sense of pride in Obamanation to some here...serves as a discomfiting and frightening embarrassment to many others.

One thing is sure. Each day brings the potential...more...the promise of the next economic disaster or downturn in the markets just waiting to happen; the next cruel and revealing off-the-cuff comment by which Barack Obama demonstrates his chilling and cavalier attitudes and opinions about those who have dared to profit; the next demagogic grandstanding pronounciation from the likes of Frank...or Pelosi, Reid...or Dodd and Rangel...

Coupled with the already in place corrupt and criminal elitist and ascerbic Democrat demagogues and self-serving egomaniacs having for the past at least 2 years prior, shown their total disdain for either the rule of law or the Constitution itself...

The Election of Barack Hussein Obama...most possibly will turn out to be the greatest tragedy in the history of America.

Want to guess???
Want to guess why big ears barry didn't repremand P-lousy for her videoed pandering to the crowd of mostly illegal aliens in mexifornia? Well it is pretty well known that barry is following the philosophy of peso george and the open borders, "comprehensive immigration crowd". What next, a trillion or so to mexico so they can fly their illegals here and place them ahead of legal Americans for all social services??? IMO, just a thought.

Thank you Neal...
I enjoy your style and usually agree with you 90%+ of the time... 100% on this column. God bless Ann. Great posts OnceAlwaysaMarine. Unfortunately, there were only 2 or 3 choices who would have done anything much differently and John McCain wasn't one of them. They were all eliminated early on in the primaries. We have a variation on the chicken and egg problem. Government schools (booth public and privagte ones beholden to govenment for funding and accreditation) are the egg and the media is the chicken. But the general population is eating both chicken and eggs and suffering for it. That is the scary thing about it all. We really are becoming the embodiment of the movie "The Matrix".

Its another day Trolls
Come on in and try to defend Dumbo for another day. He's getting pretty heavy, but i give you all credit for persistance, no matter how idiotic. And don't forget to use your vivid imaginations as you ignore reality. Its only a matter of time before the corruption and stench of the south Chicago politics Dumbo moved to DC finally gets through to the well-intentioned but naive folks who actually believed him. In the meantime, keep telling us how he is the greatest president ever to occupy the WH.

Just retire them.

Great commentary, Neal. Keep 'em comming.

But when I talk to people about this... I simply tell them,

"Me, I'm outraged about the outrage."

And more often than not, I just get blank stares.

So I patiently try to point out to them and explain how their government playing them for fools... all while they're stealing them blind.

Tea party... count me in.

TAXED
TAXED TO DEATH and AFTER.

Looks like the liberal left have found their sword to cut out the tongues of Conservative radio. And/Or 'shut up' and 'shut down' anyone with opposing viewpoints in all media.
If congress can legislate any 'law', tax or otherwise, on any 'specific' person or group of people, then our government has become Communist. And every American is 'vulnerable' to the 'UnConstitutional Laws' they think they have the 'power' to pass.

What would stop the liberal left from passing a 'Law' taxing at 90% the 'value' of ones total Estate (while we're still alive) that is in excess of whatever figure they decide on, say $500,000. Just like 'Inheritance or the Death Tax', a person would have to 'sell' part or all of their 'Estate' to pay the taxes on it, or 'fork' it over to the government.
Our government, the politicians that the majority of voters elected, are behaving as if they are uncontrolable drunks at a 'Party' having a high ole time 'trashing' their parents (We the People) house and 'stealing' them (We the People) blind.

Thanks...
and maybe some more people will be waking up soon...obviously very few in CA who think Obama is still running...they don't call it LaLa land for nothing.
Politicians of all stripes are ruining this country! Plain and simple. Pray you way through the news!

The only way to stop this fool
is to vote out the entire house in 2010. In the meantime flood their offices with emails etc telling them to pack their bags and polish their resumes.
We must get rid of pelosi, change the house and that twit is gone along with bawny fwanks who should be in jail for his lies and malfeasance rather than having the gall to excoriate private citizens in that circus last week.
Were I Mr Liddy, who is working for a dollar, I'd have taken a buck from my pocket and thrown it in fwanks face or told him where to shove it.

You can't be charged with contempt by someone below contempt, I have no respect for these elitist fools and neither should anyone else.

Our country is at the edge of an abyss, once this commie gets his programs in place, there will be way to stop them and get back to the framers vision.
No-one getting a gov't check and that will be more than half of the country, will vote to cut off their own money supply and the dems will have taken over for good.
This guy listens to no one, his own OMB tells the world we can't do this, that it is unsustainable and will bankrupt us, but he keeps sailing along oblivious to the consequences. That's not a leader, that's a sociopathic despot.

Neal is absolutely correct ..

We are witnessing the party of government, comprised of both democrats and republicans, surfing manufactured populist rage of their own creation to create an outright tyranny. They are doing this by cynical manipulation of a public that has been systematically dumbed-down by government schools.

The danger for the political class is that they end up fomenting rage in the public that comes back to bite them in the most sincere and violent manner. There are historical precedents - the aftermath of the French Revolution of 1789 wasn't called the Reign of Terror for nothing.

Our job as honorable citizens is to do our best to ensure a peaceable end to this madness before it gets completely out of hand. Getting the States to re-assert their primacy as the creators of the Federal Government and put it back in its proper place is the only peaceable path that remains open.

v/r,

-- Bud

Changing the house won't stop Obama
Do you really think voting out the Dems in the house in 2 years will stop him? Think again. By Oct 1 of this year his entire program will have been enacted into law. That vile Franken is the key senator that will give him 60. If the economy continues to collapse (and it will), in 3 years Obama will be ruling by executive decree. The House won't matter. If he needs a bill passed, he will just send in soldiers to put their M16s with fixed bayonets to the heads of the House and tell them how to vote. And it will be popular since everyone will be totally dependent on the government by then. By any objective measure, the debt pile leading to this collapse is twice the size of the pile in 1929. Most people don't comprehend the magnitude of how bad it really is. But Obama does. As Rahm said - "never let a crisis go to waste".

"The only way to stop this fool

No-one getting a gov't check and that will be more than half of the country, will vote to cut off their own money supply and the dems will have taken over for good.

THAT'S "ONLY" 987 MILLION TO HAMAS....NOT A TRILLION..BUT NO MATTER THEY ARE TERRORISTS!!!!

Watch What They Do --- and NOT What they
Neal --- good analysis. Let me add one other reason for the misdirection: the feigned outrage is also paving the way for card check, the ultimate sop to the union faithful who have supported the Dems forever. The greater the outrage at the GREEDY businessmen, the more palatable card check will seem. If Americans think our economy is bad now, just wait until we have to deal with the higher costs and lowered productivity unionization will bring.

Neal
May I say Thanks for trying to "Wake Up" your Idiot readers. The first paragraphs recorded by the Congress, in response to the AIG bonuses, were "Retaliatory". Every state almost has "Retaliatory Conduct Laws". Do I have to say, the actions of the Congress were to be "Retaliatory"? Getting America back will not be easy,if we only have incompetent soldiers. People stop following these people so closely,it takes away your view? "It not personal, it's just Business"!

Transparency
MOSCOW (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama has held talks with Mikhail Gorbachev, a spokesman for the former Soviet leader said on Monday, in the latest sign of Washington's efforts to "press the reset button" on ties with Russia.

Spokesman Konstantin Petrenko said Gorbachev met Obama and Vice President Joe Biden -- who coined the 'reset' phrase last month -- in Washington last Friday. He did not give any details of the discussion.

The Good Side
History shows that demagogues who stir up hatred toward groups and demonize them, eventually find themselves victims of violent hatred. Going down this road will result in the demised of those who began the journey.

In some ways we should be heartened by what our criminal misleaders in high office are doing. It will hasten the day when this country erupts in civil warfare which must, and which will, take place. Like childbirth, it cannot be stopped.

Only when one side of this domestic dispute emerges victorious, will we have peace. Warring factions can never live side by side in peace. It's never happened, it's never worked. One side has to annhilate the other.

There are many reasons why gun sales are at astronomical rates now at a time of national depression. Like any species, humans sense danger and the dark clouds of war. Survival is in our chromosones, regardless of all the years of PC garbage talk, smiling faces, and hands across America nonsense. The people know.

So let us not dissuade our misleaders from their rants and from stirring up dissent and chaos. The sooner the better.

Balanced Budget Amendment
There would be no need for a new amendment if the 5-4 DC Supremes would enforce the Constitution we already have. The budget would have a surplus in six months after they declared all unconstitutional programs to be unconstitutional (illegal) and could no longer be funded. They could start with the Federal Department of Education and Indoctrination.

But, that is only a dream. They barely (5-4) voted that the Second Amendment really means that we can defend ourselves with (some) guns (after begging for permission and paying a fee).

Brother Can You Spare A Dime?
They used to tell me
I was building a dream.
And so I followed the mob
When there was earth to plow
Or guns to bear
I was always there
Right on the job.
They used to tell me
I was building a dream
With peace and glory ahead.
Why should I be standing in line
Just waiting for bread?
Once I built a railroad
I made it run
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad
Now it's done
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Who is really calling the shots???
My mind is so boggled by the events that are played out each day, I find myself wondering who is really calling the shots and is there some kind of conspiracy? None of this going on makes any sense! I think Obama is a lightweight without a clue! His time in the Illinois legislature and the US Senate were nothing more than jumping off places for his pursuit of the Presidency. What is one able to glean from his speeches; just a lot of glib jibberish? Is George Soros calling the shots from Europe?? Are the Republicans going to try and apply some brakes to this run-away train? What are we to do before all is lost?? Is there anyone out there to lead those, of us, who are in opposition to this irrational madness??

AIG
AIG bonuses is a diversion. Obama and his crew want us looking at AIG and it executives with hatred. Obama wants us to get so worked up about this that we can't think or talk about anything else. While we are getting worked up about AIG he will proceed to push through plenty of his plans and we will not even notice. We had better keep our eye on the ball. When the government goes to such lengths to get us focused on one thing you can bet they have a reason. He will push through card check, illegal reform, his civilian service camps, etc. Beware people. AIG is nothing more than a smoke screen. Is 170 million really that much when you realize that this Pres wants to increase our debt by almost 10 trillion dollars. Stop talking about AIG and start looking at the real threats from this crew.

The Old Canard
Don't look at the man behind the curtain.

More perfidy from the Members of Congress. They cause the problem, 'overlook' the issue so they can point to a scapegoat later, and then draw themselves up to 'moral outrage.'

PatriotPost folks came up with the following terms. I like them all.

Demaneuver, Liberuse, Demododgery, Fauxdacity, Demofuge, Obamawink, Lefthoax, and my personal favorite, Uberdonkeydung!

Comprehensive slavery
*

Is entrepreneurial capitalistic “free enterprise” sustainable? Or, has the (233 year) experiment in individual property rights come to a failed conclusion? Is the human race returning (evolving) to a natural state, in which everyone is subservient to the state, totalitarianism?

Citizens’ personal and real estate property ownership; including use, distribution control, compensation for transfer, and relief from confiscatory taxes, must be recaptured from an ever expanding government if modern civilization is to be sustained. Prosperity for a large (as percentage) middle-class must be present for liberty to function as we have experienced.

Comprehensive slavery is all about ownership; being property of the state as opposed to an individual. The tipping point has arrived.

Patriots are aching for some ACTION they can do personally! Many authors and media personalities promote broad-brush, macro-ideas, and general philosophy. Citizens want specific impact (metaphoric pitch fork) activity they can engage in. Obviously, researching (beyond the lame-stream media) and voting on the issues, not personalities, is number one.

Every government entity has a building program, the management of which exemplifies their malfeasances. The law provides that public agencies (school board, city council … etc) allow any attendee of an official meeting to address the proceedings. Form a posse, show up at a meeting, and challenge elected members to read the book.

Book and speaker platform is
Construction Budget Management by Richard Lingensjo
the blueprint to initiate a reduction in the size of government. This book is not the sanitized bean-counter version, rather, the universal antidote for those perpetrating PC deception. This work has the caustic ingredient necessary to penetrate the bureaucracy.

Help
Two things would help this country: The Fair Tax and Term Limits!!!!! Let's talk about positive things. Sue

Misdirected Rage
Why is everyone, including Bortz, talking about the $165,000,000 of bonuses while ignoring the $170,000,000,000 of bailout of AIG? The covering of payouts on Credit Default Swaps by AIG is an absolute theft of taxpayer funds to the benefit of banks such as Goldman, the mother of so many current and former U. S. Treasury officials. No one knows how much of this CDS payout was and is to firms who have no position in the underlying instruments. We are simply paying the naked gambling loss of AIG to the gambling winner. We have no leadership. We have no intelligence. The wolves will apparently eat the sheep until they can hold no more.

Sore losers
It happens with every election. Some of the sore losers talk about violence. Real patriots respect elections.

Still think you should run for office. We need men like you in government.

From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Washington.

I say it here, it comes out over there.
Just last week I pointed out that this "90% tax on AIG" would *NOT* be limited just to AIG. I pointed out the fact that the 90% tax would only cause those subjected to the tax to quit and go some place where the tax didn't apply, and that would just cause Der Fuhrer Obama to simply extend his "spread the wealth" notions to *ALL* parts of the economy. I stated within one year, there would be a 90% tax on EVERY household that earned over $250,000.

And to those predictions, I have but 4 words for you:

I TOLD YOU SO!!!

Salary caps on ALL people coming soon to a store near you!

AIG BONUS
well our country has now become a full dictatorship when our POLITICIANS can pass a bill to tax what is not even theirs to tax. the contracts that aig and the employees signed that they will recieve a certain amount of a bonus, will now be in the courts, and it will cost the taxpayer a whole lot more money when the verdict comes out in the employee favor, so thank POLITIANS FOR STICKING YOUR NOSE WHERE IT DONT BELONG. We will now be called the united socialist union of north america. Where no one can work for themselves and earn their own money where it has to spread around to those who do not work. where there will no more having anything to do with striving to make ones self better, just have your hand out and the government will make sure you get what you need. just remember what you all have ask for, by the idea of having shared prosperity running this once great country

What if?
Instead of making punitive taxes on 'the wealthy' Congress had decided under W to make a 90% tax upon film-makers like Michael Moore in order to punish him for spreading lies?

What if the full weight of the government was brought to bear on those who worked at Planned Parenthood? or the ACLU?

What is the difference?

ANYbody who is okay with what the Congress has done in targeting individuals for a special punitive tax is blind, ignorant of our Constitution, or stupid.

I have already sent an email to our local Congressman (REP Rooney) who voted YES on this unconstitutional mob-mentality action, that I will make it my life's work to see to it that he is not re-elected.

Whatever!!!
It just continues to become a bigger farce everytime nobama opens his mouth. As I have said from the beginning he is clueless and if the people really believe him to be the savior God help the people. Sell, Sell, Sell!!!

Vast left wing conspiracy
Has the entire Government gone insane?
Come on folks! A one-armed gorilla with a sliderule could have seen this crap coming at us years ago!! Any time the Gov't tries to 'help' the economy, they screw it up..and then blame greedy businesses.
First they wreck the economy with their interference and sub-prime loans and now the same nut-cases say ony they can fix it????
Congress shovels our tax money out the window and can't account for over 300 billion of it.
Then conregeeman Dodd lies about knowing and then lies about NOT knowing about the AIG bonuses!! We need to focus on the root causes of this mess.. And much of it starts with the Congressional banking oversite committee!
I say vote them all out.. dismantle their bureaucracies and start fresh.
Pass the Fair Tax law and then just leave us working Americans the hell alone.

How many???
I wonder, of the 55-56 Million people who supposedly voted for Obama, what percentage are totally mindless idiots looking for handouts and just blindly hate Bush and conservatism??

My guess would be at LEAST 30 Million people. This is what will make these DEMONS in Congress and Obama so hard to remove by conventional means (voting). These people have no concept of what our govt is there to do and dont CARE how inept the Obamanites are. Heck I didnt even add the racial element to this circus.

Whhhhheeew!

Obama Socialized Psychopath or Sociopath

Most American Citizens wonder why Barack Obama has selected and placed, weak and incompetent people to positions of power.

The most obvious are Joe Biden and Tim Geithner.

Both of these men crave influence, respect, and power, but they lack the necessary competencies to achieve their desires.

These incompetent 'Morons' do NOT understand, that Barack Obama has chosen them specifically because they are incompetent and must depend on Barack Obama for their positions.

The consequent dependency, on this Sociopath - Barack Obama - makes them permanent manipulatees, expendable pawns to absorb the harassment that should be directed towards Barack Obama.

Barack Obama knows he is unable to expound his thoughts without a Teleprompter, so he picks a human 'Gaffe Machine' like Joe Biden who is even worse than he, that would replace him should he fail.

Barack Obama wants the American Economic System destroyed, so that he can replace Capitalism with Socialism, so he picks an absolutely incompetent 'Rube' Tim Geithner, to head up the Treasury and then announces great confidence in Geithner.

Thomas
you underestimate the total capacity for group think of these people. You said 30 million were dumb, plus the left wing wack jobs. I say it's more like 50 million including the wack jobs. That leaves 3-4 million that might be sane and reasonable. I base this on years of talking and dealing with the average voter. They real are uneducated about how the gov works, or they just don't care. Sad I know, but true.

Lola1, J. Howard has an excellent point:
You are inferring that J. Howard is overlooking that AIG is an insurance company. This is flawed reasoning because it was not their insurance division that was underwriting and taking on the risk of these defaults. It was their financial services division who was able to incompetently issue a quasi insurance product without the oversight normally applied to insurance. Any bonafide insurance operation would never have excepted these levels of risks without adequate premiums being paid.

Just as J. Howard said, these CDS are essentially a gamble which made huge money for the entities that were able to take their gains and pass on the risk like a hot potato in a game of musical chairs to someone else. In this case, when the music stopped AIG was left holding the bag and no chair to hide in.

I also have a cynical suspicion that there is still much more to learn about the entire AIG fiasco then we know so far. I think that there are many more government fingerprints involved where AIG was "encouraged" to take on this ridiculously irresponsible risk with wink, winks from some of the current Dems that any troubles would be backed by the Treasury. They need to launch these massive bailouts to keep people who know where the bodies are buried quiet.

U.S. Atty General Needs To Investigate
It's time for the U.S. General, Justice Department, U.S. Justices, and the Congress and Senators to start investigating their own and hold them accountable and stop giving them a pass as they are taking our country into a black hole without any return for our money. They are attempting to high jack a great country by devastating its economy and showing up on talk shows and town hall meetings to get more people to approve and go along with printing trillions more of our tax dollars that can never be paid back. Take the ink away and the printing presses before it's too late! This is truly a economic crisis for the American people are are at double digit unemployment and are moving in with their families at the rate of 6,000,000 thus far!

Blazing Saddles
contained the line "Gentlemen, we've got to protect our phoney baloney jobs!". The current brouhaha over AIG bonuses was created by the very imbeciles who are howling the loudest about it. The language that allowed these bonuses to be paid was part of the 1100+/- page screwmemore package that was rammed through(B. Frank's favorite tactic for legislation and other purposes) Congress with all of 13-14 hours overnight to evaluate. The entire process was overseen by the iron hand of the Dem leadership. One can only wonder what other "surprises" are in store.

KIRK
I was conservative basd on the young college kid and white moderate liberal vote. These are educated people who are either outright liberals or just hated Bush. Some of this I can at least understand because we ran a Bushie liberal PUFF McCain so the moderates were somewhat interested but the right leaning Cons were out. I voted for McCain because I read Obamas book and knew he wasnt good for America.

I wish I picked my stocks as well.

Smoke and Mirrors = Obama's C.Y.A.
Great Illusions are created and The Obama crew are Masters at this subterfuge. Obama's $1 Trillion dollar Boondoggle is being pushed to the side and this $165 Million in AIG Bonus's has become the Focus? Mr. Boortz has got it right...

well
don't forget that 20% of registered Republicans voted for this maniac. They are the ones that put him in office, without the 20% he wouldn't have had a shot. So if you're one of those complete and total idiots - this 20% - you are responsible for this. It is your fault. You have no excuse. I can't expect anything more than Barack Obama from liberals, but anyone who has ever been in any way introduced to conservatism and calls himself/herself a Republican has absolutely no excuse. None.

Well put EVE
I did not take those voters into account and TRUST me, I am not one of them. While its not impossible that I would vote for a VERY conservative dem in the future, I could NEVER go for a socialist lightweight like BHO.

Mr. Boortz ...
... you are absolutely correct. If ya can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with Bull----! That's a more appropo motto for Oscama than "hope and change". He wants "change" alright, into something we don't recognize and sure as he-- don't want!

It's the political pimps, stupid! THEY are the ones who have caused this whole mess with Mr. Blarney Flank in his "ordering" the banks to grant loans to people who can't afford to pay them! That's where this all started, and like dominoes, it has crashed down to the market and private industry.

How about they stop paying our taxes to foreign nations and entities that our illustrious pimps have no clue where the money ends up!

How about kicking the UN out of here and stop paying it's flippin' bills?

How about not providing China and every other claptrap country with "aid" in various forms or other?

How about knocking off voting themselves outrageous raises every year?

How about knocking off the bi-monthly "vacations", use of huge jets to travel, lavishing THEIR districts with free money for stupid studies and other miscellaneous ridiculousness?

Oh, and while we're at it, how about not bowing and scaping to the "first black president?" Who says? He's HALF WHITE! That doesn't make him the "first black president". What will they call a real black if and when one is elected to the Presidency?

Bunch of morons by my estimation and they ought to all be run out of town on a rail and replaced with some true Constitutional-thinking people!!!

Want to Protest, Have to Work
It is a shame the protest crowds might not swell to the numbers the libs bring out, mostly because those of us conservative-minded individuals are too busy working to support our families WITHOUT government cheese. Wish I could go......
Very Sad About being STUCK in New Mexico

Eve's Right
Yes! 20% of Republicans abandoned ship and fell for the hope and change mantra. Well, maybe they weren't true conservatives anyway. But, also I think, if I remmember correctly, that there was a large percentage of Republicans that stayed home and didn't vote.
Some people say it was because of Palin's lack of experience. I beg to differ because she had more executive experience than Obama. Personally I think it had to do with her wanting to stand up against the good ole boys. I wish we had a different GOP candidate, That might have helped also.

Did Dems have plan?
Don't you think its a little coincidental that Sen. Chris Dodd wrote the provision so that AIG executives would receive bonuses?

Did they want to open the door to taxing any group or sect of society that they disagree with or deem "wrong" in their eyes?

The First Amendment
{The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference. See U.S. Const. amend. I. Freedom of expression consists of the rights to freedom of speech, press, assembly and to petition the government for a redress of grievances, and the implied rights of association and belief.

The most basic component of freedom of expression is the right of freedom of speech. The right to freedom of speech allows individuals to express themselves without interference or constraint by the government. The Supreme Court requires the government to provide substantial justification for the interference with the right of free speech where it attempts to regulate the content of the speech. A less stringent test is applied for content-neutral legislation. The Supreme Court has also recognized that the government may prohibit some speech that may cause a breach of the peace or cause violence. The right to free speech includes other mediums of expression that communicate a message. }

Oh the whole truth Neil. The real anger should be focused on the henchmen in DC, who passed this bail out,Tarp, Stimulus BS! The American people are not that stupid, they know who is to blame, but sending them death threats and picketing their homes would result in looking down the barrel of a Tank! Americans are angry and looking for an easy target, Why not AIG crooks, sounds like a start to me!

No$...
You missed the punch line... Do you know who Sully is? Go back and read the entire line.

For those living in a cave, Sully was the pilot who landed the plane on the Hudson with no fatalities (except for a few birds in the jet engine intakes).

Boortz was lamenting having not met Captain Sullivan, a man who did truly earn his paycheck.

Florida
AIG should never have gotten the bailout in the first place...Now that they did the libs in Congress are acting all self-righteous as they verbalize their indignation.

Just remember one thing...what they can do to someone else...they can do to you and me!

Be careful who you are willing to skewer...you could be the next one on the barbie!

I watched the witch hunt on cspan last
night. What an eye-opener. One Democrat after another was called to the point that Republicans finally gave up and left the room. Each one of these pinheads pontificated on how disgusting the bonuses were, even after Mr. Liddy explained that paying the bonuses would be much cheaper than hiring new employees that would have to be trained and brought up to speed on the problems they already were working on, would be much more than 9/10th of 1 percent of the total bailout.

Poor Mr. Liddy (Obama's choice to take over AIG) had to take one blast after another about how disgusting HIS leadership was(even though he'd only been there 6 months...and after he had explained ad nauseum that it wasn't the AIG Insurance company that responsible, rather a unit that apparently was forced on them by the government called the "FP" (Financial Products) unit that caused all the damage. And even when he explained as if to a 4-year-old child, how AIG had no control over their actions, they kept harping on how AIG was responsible for the economic disaster.

Without exception, every Democdrat started out their questioning as grandstanding a-holes.

The only question that made any sense was asked by the most nerve-grating representative (I can't remember his name) was to ask for the names of those (25) people out of the thousands of employees were responsible for the total collapse of the American economy. Mr. Liddy refused to release these names that he knew full well would result in a witch hunt by his Democrat collegues. At least ONE Democrat has common sense.

Gunny
the self righteous windbag that called for the names of the AIG employees receiving bonuses was Barney Frank...the author of the Frannie and Freddie mess...

Targeting a small number of taxpayers
Consider the fate of the roughly 400 persons who were the original target of the Alternative Minimum Tax (persons with a high income and no income tax liability for that year). To remedy that perceived outrage how many million taxpayers must pay the AMT?

Why Be Mad at AIG?
Is AIG a company that just started-up last year?

I think they've actually been around for quite some time, haven't they?

And in all the time that they have been doing business, how many billions in tax revenue have they generated either directly or indirectly?

I am not for the bailouts, but for people to get all bent out of shape because of bonuses of $165 million is grossly absurd.

And I will guarantee you that most of these folks protesting and posturing with their indignant outrage about how "their tax dollars" are being used, probably haven't paid as much in taxes their entire life...as one of those executives at AIG did in a single year.

Yep, the "Earned Income Credit" crowd is righteously indignant at how "their tax dollars" are being spent!

I see a lot of despair and frustration
leading to talk of revolution or armed resistance. Believe me, this is not going to be necessary until we see that the next election is as fixed as this one was. I ask anyone with common sense, how can 65% of the people be against socialism, yet, a socialist gets elected? Either too many conservatives stayed home and didn't vote, or the votes were manipulated. That's too easy to do to. They always accuse conservatives of doing exactly what they do to throw off suspicion.

One Other Thing
Not only is the righteous outrage about the $165 million in AIG bonuses absurd, but consider something else.

AIG is in New York, correct? And so if an employee receives a million dollar bonus as a number of them are supposed to, how much will he have left?

Those bonuses are income. Federal tax will eat-up roughly what, 40-50 percent of it? What will the State tax in NY get out of it? And doesn't New York City have a city tax that will get a cut?

So the Federal Government, NY State and NY City will be the biggest recipients of those bonuses...not the employees.

Will Barney Frank demand that the State and City of New York pay a 90% tax on the taxes paid to them by AIG employees?

I have
a feeling that there are more of us than them.
Did ya' hear the new euphemism for the WOT;
now it's "man-caused disasters"..how clever.
Napolitano used the phrase in a speech. But
we can have some fun with it ourselves because this porkulus and all the other bailouts past, present and future are definitely MAN CAUSED
DISASTERS! Obama and his DemonRAT cabal running the 9% majority, with a few CYA REpublican submissive piddling dogs. Obama is a MAN CAUSED DISASTER, because American useful idiot voters put him in the W H.

hail to the chief
How about a 90% tax on all monies earned by gay's?

Sheep.
If any of you actually believe anyone really earns a bonus of several millions of dollars for doing anything then you guys are a bunch of whackers. Look, we are getting sheared by sheepherders masquerading as traders, CEOs, Fund managers, you name it, they are all shearing us every single day. Some of us don't seem to care because we grow back our wool so they can come shear us again. But when they ask for a leg so they can enjoy a nice roast, this sheep starts to fight back.

First rule of being normal: Never feel sorry for really rich people, they sure as hell could care less about us and never will.

FeedFwd Reply # 75
yes I know who about Capt Sullenberger. I havent met him and my life will be Ok without that photo op. My understanding is that the last thing Sully wants is to meet more people, so, what does the insertion of this man into the article have to do with anything. NO..I think that my instincts are correct. Boortz is saying that no one REALLY earns their money, and that it is unfair to expect any one to be accountable for malfeasance on the job, especially the high paid. He is not the only one. There are quite a few in the media who are really very very scared of living small again. I dont blame them. The advertisers are beginning to make the changes required.

Magicians, pickpockets and demagogues have practiced this technique forever. How refreshing it is to read something from someone on TH (there are several)who truly have a brain. Now about that Nancy joke and your views about tyranny. It would seem to me, and I don't have a brain, that your argument applies perfectly to Smokers. Smokers like AIG Executives, have been singled out and told that they are responsible for all the death and destruction in America and every illness under the sun since Al Gore, Bill O'Rielly, and some Scientist told them that was true, and the Smokers are taxed at 110%, so they can pay for the health care for all the Illegal Aliens Nancy Pelosi loves so much and thinks are Patriots.
Now that for the "first time" we have a President we can truly be proud of, I wonder if the Liberal Democrats and Liberal, Liberal, Republicans in Congress will levy another tax on Smokers to cover the complete cost of the Hillary/Obama Universal Health Care Plan? The Liberals in Congress who were OUTRAGED hate Smokers as much as they hate Bush.

Semper Fi One

Neil Boortz - Who's zoomin' who?

Neil Boortz writes: "The fact is, though, AIG had a contractual obligation to pay those bonuses, and failure to do so would have been actionable. A good trial attorney would manage to get double the amount due plus fees."

That's BALONEY, Neil.

Your argument is the financial equivalent of the pathetic immigration rhetoric "if you build a higher fence, they'll just bring a taller ladder", just an excuse not to even try.

It seems to be motivated by a manifest desire NOT to solve a problem.

And if you don't WANT to solve a problem, you can be SURE that it WON'T get solved. In fact, that IS our national immigration policy, in a nutshell. And our national Social Security policy, and our national tax policy, and so on. Problems nobody seriously wants to solve.

Your "take" on the AIG bonuses is just more of the same, Neil

But wrong is wrong. If you don't (or can’t) address and fix the so-called “little things” that are wrong, why should ANYBODY have ANY CONFIDENCE AT ALL that the bigger things will get fixed?

WHY?!?!?!?!

At this point in time, I don’t have much more faith in the “business community” than I do in the government; it’s like watching two rival thieves fighting over somebody ELSE’s property.

And I’m sure the AIG bonuses are just the TIP of the iceberg. The gargantuan BLOAT of the 'Spendulus' Bill and the multitude of associated “bail outs” is so unimaginably HUGE that it’s positively an *invitation* to corruption… strike that… it’s BEGGING for corruption, and the corruption will be greater than anything ever seen before. Precisely because the amount of “booty” is greater than anything ever previously imagined.

A nationwide “No Confidence” vote by the American people on this whole incestuous government/business shell-game / scam / ponzi-scheme is LONG overdue. And it’s probably already too late.

Pelosi's flying monkeys
Yikes!

Neil Boortz -solution to AIG "diversion"

Neil Boortz writes: "The fact is, though, AIG had a contractual obligation to pay those bonuses, and failure to do so would have been actionable. A good trial attorney would manage to get double the amount due plus fees."

Here's the solution to the AIG bonuses “diversion”:

1. Revoke the bonuses that were paid with taxpayer “bailout” money.

2. Let the employees hire attorneys and sue until the cows come home. Good luck to ‘em, but the attorneys would be well-advised to take cash up-front.

3. Let AIG do what it SHOULD HAVE DONE in the first place: FAIL. It’s a FAILED institution. Let the market fix the problem. AIG (and other failed businesses) needs to file bankruptcy, and sell off whatever assets it has that are still saleable. The end.

4. No More Taxpayer Bail Out Money.

5. Let the attorneys try to get the bonus money (and double damages plus fees) from a BANKRUPT company. Let ‘em try. The lawyers better not quit their night jobs, because their day job suing a bankrupt company on contingency isn’t going to pay much.

As far as “lawyers” are concerned, for the most part, I’m with Shakespeare.

And no more of the sophistry about how ANY company is “too big to fail”. AIG is certainly NOT “too big to fail”.

The BIGGER, the BETTER.

Watch it burn, baby. Dismantle the whole thing and sell it for scrap.

Just watch it.

No more rewarding bad business practices with taxpayer money.

No more propping up crooked businesses.

If we stop rewarding bad behavior, I’m confident these and many other “Big Businesses” who have ABANDONED *sound business practices* will FAIL just fine. In fact, I bet they can fail REAL GOOD.

Let’s find out.

The SOONER, the BETTER.

Dear Mr. Boortz:
Hello Mr. Boortz

My name is Rachel and I am a visually impaired High school student who loves to read your stuff all the way in California. I really love your stuff, and this article was really good and informative. Go tell them, mr. Boortz. Go tell the idiots! You know best, they don’t. I am glad you are here to do it. You are my light, you give me the strength to live through everyday in this sad world. You know, I want to be successful, I want to get in to business, Really, but this tax thing is just crazy. It’s really going to make the minority like me and my friend, in my generation who wants to be up there, work extra hard to get past those idiots, which in my opinion shouldn’t be running this country. It really makes me wonder, what next?

Why the hell do they think what they are doing is great anyways? Don’t they see this country going to the Looters?

You are wonderful Mr. Boortz, you really give me the courage to go out there and fight. It’s good to know I am not alone out there to fight for our rights and liberties, which this country is taking away from us.

Thanks for doing what you do. You are one of the few people I do actually respect and can see hope in. Please keep going, and don’t let the shouters and looters get you down.

Keep fighting!!!!!

Rachel

P.s. Sorry for any mistakes I made, I am not editing very well, as this is my first time in submitting this kind of thing and I am just really nervous, so I am not focusing that well.

Thank you so much for your show.

2010
Vote the current "tax tories" out in 2010. It's all we can do.

Stupid tax
Most people would be too stupid to know they were the only ones paying a stupid tax.

FairMark
by next election, Oblahblah will have had ACORN messing up the census and electoral votes.

Rachel
Don't be nervous.
You did just fine.

Rachel

Way to go!!! You did great and we love your opinion.

Rachel: You may be "visually impaired"

but you "see things" extraordinarily well, and much better than many who aren't visually imparied.

Keep coming back! :-)

A high school student as bright as you obviously are, gives us ALL real HOPE!

AIG Bonuses Returned
An AIG spokesperson said the company was glad most of its senior leadership was willing to give up their bonuses and will continue to wind down its Financial Products (FP) business.

Liberal Logic = Dysfunctional Brain

Liberals believe America is greedy because of Capitalism - yet half of the population is subsidized and don't pay taxes.

Liberals and their NON-TAXPAYER subsidized minions - think they are victims.

These subsidized, NON-TAXPAYERS, think they are victims, yet they control the POTUS and Congress.

These subsidized, NON-TAXPAYERS, keep getting poorer, even though they keep electing the same Liberal politicians.

These subsidized, NON-TAXPAYERS, have possessions and a standard of living that the poor in other countries could only dream about.

These subsidized, NON-TAXPAYERS, want America to be like those countries where the poor have MUCH LESS, then they have.

Barack Obama has conned these 'Poor' people into believing 'Socialism' will be better for them.

Barack Obama believes the 'Success' of his administration, will be equal poverty for all.

Liberals chant 'Yes We Can'.

Social Justice means Socialism

Capitalism by default, places humans in different 'Economic Classes' - self determination and 'Hard Work', simply produces more than indolence, 'Play Times' and the life of a professional beggar (welfare).

Social Justice (Socialism) wants 'Equal Outcomes' based on the theory that all humans would do well, if given the proper Social Justice.

Barack Obama and Liberals, 'Hate America', not only because America is rooted in the 'Rule of Law', but fits their theory that all 'Oppression' is caused by the powerful.

Not only is America the most powerful Nation in the world, but the rights Americans have, is predicated on the inalienable rights granted by the Creator - God.

Barack Obama and Liberals believe that not only is 'Man' the cause of all problems - 'Man' also can be the cure of all problems.

Some simple illustrations of that thinking, is 'Global Warming' and the 'War on Poverty'.

Barack Obama and Liberals think their Quest for Social Justice is so 'Noble and Pure' that it should NOT be questioned nor criticized.

Barack Obama's clarion call is that a true American Patriot should be willing to 'Sacrifice for the Common Good' - even if that means giving up your personally held values and property.

AIG bonuses a red herring...
Finance Chairman Barney Frank claims he doesn't know who inserted the AIG executive retention bonus package in the eight hundred thousand million dollar Stimulus bill, that it certainly wasn't he.

Which begs the question,

What other surprising and stimulating taxpayer $ giveaways are buried in the Stimulus bill that no one had time to read?

(Hey, come to think of it, maybe some congressional staffer scribbled my name in for special consideration, say a mansion on the coast or maybe a few million buckaroos....)

Any congressman who votes for a bill they haven't read or understand is a compete idiot.

AIG
Gotta luv ya Neil. which congressman was preaching to the AIG execs that they should either resign or preferably do the honorable thing and commit suicide for their obscene failure as a business and harm to the citizens of America.
Pretty mean spirited discourse if you ask me but with an approval rating of 37% at the latest count[how they have doubled that number in light of what has happened since January is beyond me] but even so--even at 37% it is an abomination | maybe that advice should be applied to congress. It would be better than the coming revolt I fear is brewing across the country.

AIG Bonuses
The first people who should return their bonuses are ...B.Hussein,Dodd and Fwank. Then they will have reason to accuse others.

FairMark - Voting system is corrupted

FairMark wrote: "Vote the current 'tax tories' out in 2010. It's all we can do."

It's NOT "all we can do". The American people are FAR from powerless, but most of the time we act like sheep being led to the slaughter.

If just 10% of the population engaged in loosely coordinated non-violent civil disobedience, that's roughly 30 million people.

That's enough to shut down the whole corrupt, stinking system.

If even a small percentage of the population decided to just say "NO", they don't have enough cops or enough jails or enough "agencies" to do anything about it.

Like any other governing body that has become lawless, their power is exercised through fear by threatening the individual.

But if too many individuals decide they're *not going to play that game anymore*, then the game is up. This whole ‘(con)fidence game’ of the tail wagging the dog (i.e., the government, OUR government, “ruling” over US like they’re “royalty”, without representation or accountability) is DONE.

These politicians are breaking the law, they are violating our Constitution, they have raped and sodomized the public trust, and they are looting our country.

Samuel Adams of Massachusetts (in 1776):

"Contemplate the mangled bodies of your
countrymen, and then ask yourself, 'What should be the reward of such sacrifices? Are we just to do nothing? To allow the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the Earth?' I detest any submission to a people who have either ceased to be human, or have not virtue enough to feel their own wretchedness. If ye love comfort better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, [then] go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands of your master. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!"

HAH this 90% Tax PROVES IT!
The Democrats never gave up on slavery; they just started thinking big.

sunshine patriot
“These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value." Thomas Paine, The Crisis

People need to step up to the plate and get involved in phoning/faxing their senators and representatives....join in the tea parties and be heard. Sign up on http://www.numbersusa.com and send free faxes. Sign petitions. DO SOMETHING !

I'm tired of people complaining but refuse to do ANYTHING. It's easy to complain and let other people do the work. Then, of course, we just have those people out there in la-la land.

Obama
Obama thought he could talk the economy down, provide cover for his co-criminals in congress to do their dirtiest to us.
THen maybe he thought he could just magically talk it back up again. Or maybe he never intended it to recover.
He deserves the hate of history for taking a recession and turning it into a depression. He deserves that.
Perhaps America deserves it too for electing him.
But all of us don't deserve what we got in him. Some of us are collateral damage.

WP: 82% of GDP in 10 Years!!!

Before reading, keep in mind that the EU average for its countries' with anemic growth is 47% of GDP...

“In the midst of this bonfire of inanities, President Obama is pressing ahead with a $3.6 trillion budget, predicated on utterly unrealistic economic growth, even as the Congressional Budget Office is now projecting that this year’s deficit will soar past $1.8 trillion, 13 percent of the US economy. This would amount, as the Washington Post reports, to ‘the deepest well of red ink since the end of World War II.’ According to the Post, the CBO is warning, ominously, that the result of this kind of borrowing and spending could lead to an exponentially expanding national debt that would ‘exceed 82 percent of the overall economy by 2019.’”

President Obama came to office proclaiming that he aims to solve problems, not hand them on to our children. Most presidents say that sort of thing. But now we are in very dire straits, and that being the case, he will be held to account. It’s your legacy, sir, and let’s not hear any more about ‘inheriting the crisis.’ You asked for the job. Meanwhile, let us hope that his talent for mastering a sérieux financial crisis are not on a level with the Special Olympians of Wall Street, and Congress.”

The Constitution? Lame Media?
Neal, you've got the right argument here, though it's so hard to find these days. AIG bonuses, for like 165 million, not exactly "well-deserved," to say the least. But this issue is such a tiny part of the entire issues debate. Where's the issue of bonuses for Lock-Mart and Northrop Grumman executives, totally on the govt dole already? And the bonus monies are a smidgen of the monies being paid out to banksters and the phony derivative system. Yet, Lame Media gives this issue of "contracts" so much time and attention. How about the contract that is made each and every time a public official takes the oath to defend and support the Constitution? Perhaps, we should just change the oath to something like this: "do you swear to make up everything as you go along, to take the advice of foreign governments and lobbyists, support and defend State-corporatist Media, and rid the commoners of that damned piece of paper?"

Rigging the vote:
"Either too many conservatives stayed home and didn't vote, or the votes were manipulated. That's too easy to do to. They always accuse conservatives of doing exactly what they do to throw off suspicion."

Yeah but, conservatives don't have ACORN! This little group has tentacles like an octopus and they're in every state doing their thing under the guise of helping people get to the polls and registering.

Funny thing is they don't admit that the "registered" are non-usa citizens (illegals); dead people; fictitious people. Yup, they need to be exposed and prosecuted - then listen to Oscama and Ayers howl. No more rigging the vote!!!!

A Usurper Is In OUR Oval Office
How fitting it is to take the American tax payer's attention off of their lives and directed onto the crooks in DC.

Our 2nd Amendment Rights allow we the people to raise our loaded weapons against a tyrannical government. Ladies and gentlemen,,,,,,,,,the time is now!!!

AIG BIG BONUSES.[second hand smoke]
Cover up the part where it is planned for big businesses to be regulated like banks by the government.Don't tell about the one who got the AIG bonuses had agreed to them and was going to collect $1.00 pay for the year of 2009. Solve it all--Make all you want with no taxes being taken out. Then when you spend it Personnal purchases pay 10% and businesses pay 15% on taxes[ which would be fed.,state, county, city, school,Soc sec.,medc.] no breaks no loopholes.Everybody pays......

Maybe conservatives
need to join ACORN?

Get paid to bring conservatives to the voting places?

Why do I suspect
Many R's in congress would have voted for Obama?

Let me say this - if the R's put up another McCain type - he/she can forget about my vote. My "fiscally conservative" senator Fred Upton was all for the bailout so he can forget about my vote too. Voting is probably not going to solve a problem this far gone.

As far as I can tell - the only people worthy of my vote are posting on TownHall.com. There doesn't seem to be more than one or two congressman that really measure up. That's for certain.

It should be virtually instinctual that you can't levy a 90% tax on anyone, anytime, ever. But as predictable, Grassley & other public servants took the cheap & easy pandering, politically motivated route.

A non-patriot
would hand his/her bonus to the federal gov't. Far better for that money to be out in the private sector than wasted by a bloated, out of control bureaucracy bent on destroying the founder's vision of America.

AIG employees - point your shotguns out the front window of your homes & get the other public servants of the local police force to disburse the crowds of loonies from your driveway.

Then sue the living snot out of anyone who outed you to the public as having gotten a bonus. That's not suing a bankrupt company - that'suing a bankrupt country, the USA.

Neil
It really is imperative that the Fair Tax be implemented. I don't like the prebate & don't see why we need it because items are expected to cost about the same as they do now & low income people won't be paying any more than they do now. Too much intrusion with the prebate too.

The flat tax is fine too but my perception is that it invites congress to monkey with it, and monkey often. They must have no authority over taxation without a new cotus ammendment.

One more ammendment is also screaming to be made - No President, no representative, no congressperson, and no federal employee can take public funds for the purpose of working for anyone not a citizen of this country. Nor can they give public funds to any non U.S. organization of, council. They were elected to take care of us. No one else. Period.

They are free to start up philanthropic organizations for those purposes any time they choose.

Let me tighten that up
Nor can they give public funds to any foreign entity, organization, business, council, government, philanthropic or social or joint economic ventures, studies, or scientific, religious, political endeavors.

What is missing from the constitution is the penalty for committing an unconstitutional act. Without penalties, what is the fear today for being treasonous? A severe penalty needs to be written and instituted for any subsequent unconstitutional activities by our feral govt.

Perhaps then, our leadership will adhere to its enumerated powers. If they are unsure of the constitutionality of a new proposal, they will have to get SCOTUS to review it before it is presented to the House.

Feel free to add until we have this just right.

You're right Neil
What are you doing on CNN? For me, CNN stands for Communist News Network. This isn't about obscene bonuses, it is about class envy and class warfare. Eighty people took a tour to see the homes of the evil wealthy capitalists and it gets world news attention. Hundreds and thousands of people attend tea parties all over America and not a word in the news. That wouldn't encourage class warfare. The journalists all kiss Obama full on the lips every chance they get. We need someone in the republican party to step up and start calling this communist takeover of the American people what it is and stop hiding behind political correctness, afraid to offend the new prez. Why is the tax cheat still employed by the people he is screwing?

Correction
"For the first time that I can remember the Imperial Congress of the United States has passed a law establishing a confiscatory tax to be levied on certain individuals -- not for the purpose of raising revenue -- but strictly for the purpose of punishment."

Wrong.

Congress passed laws to put Al Capone in prison for tax evasion.

Taxes were levied on Al Capone and laws passed to throw his butt in jail because the Feds had nothing else on him.

Thanks for playing!

That would be an admission
" Did Dems have plan?
Don't you think its a little coincidental that Sen. Chris Dodd wrote the provision so that AIG executives would receive bonuses?

Did they want to open the door to taxing any group or sect of society that they disagree with or deem "wrong" in their eyes? "

That would be an admission that they know what they're doing, and claiming they don't is probably a very big mistake. It's hard to imagine the depths of depravity it would take, but then again taking Dodd at simple face value with his one day flip flop admission is hard to concieve as well.
The republicans talk about evil (overseas), but fail to recognize just how evil demcorats are. They are communists, and even that cannot be admitted - since there is tradition holding them back.
If the democrats are so stupid that they didn't know they were going to okay the bonuses then publicly abscond them when the cry arose, then they don't know their own class warfare rhetoric. It's hard to understand how it couldn't have been the plan all along, but then ascribing that much evil to the commie democrats is hard for good people (republicans) to do. It's unfathomable, really.
I believe it was their plan all along, since their platform is all about stopping the "greedy evil rich".
I'm not sure how the republicans should combat it, though. The dems are directing, SECRETLY, as we speak, TRILLIONS into their own pockets.
I know, the republicans cannot fathom it is occurring that way. It doesn't seem possible that the dems are that dirty, but it is occurring.
I guess relying on "fair play" is the last gasp of this republic.
The enemy is here, and it's not just Al Qaeda guys.

koolmuse all by himself reinforces that conservatives have brains, libtards like koolmuse are only tools for the cause.
