Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

On New Year's Day of 1863, the first Republican Party President, Abraham Lincoln, with the stroke of his pen signed the historic Emancipation Proclamation. Only someone totally devoid of an education does not know how that document changed the course of history for an entire race of people, an entire nation and an entire culture. In essence, it ended the horrors of slavery. It ended the owning of members of one race by members of another race.

Unfortunately, too many citizens do not recognize the revival of slavery, albeit more refined and less obvious enslavement. And, sadly, today more and more Americans are willing to give up certain freedoms in return for the promise of government largesse. And most of these citizens don't even realize what they're doing, because the news media are failing to perform their role as purveyors of truth and accuracy.

Enslavement will not come with a bang, but with a slow, relentless whimper. Each day, each week, each month, each year brings us closer to a state of de facto slavery as a result of greed disguised as "civil rights."

Ask most Americans and they will tell you that food, clothing, shelter and other necessities are "rights." Surely, they are necessities, but they are not rights that need to be provided by an omnipotent government.

And even when warranted, government charity has a way of morphing into government nightmares.

For example, part of President Lyndon Baines Johnson's "Great Society" poured billions of taxpayer dollars into a program that did more damage to the American family than any other handout. While the government paid women who bore children a monthly allowance based on the number of children in the household, it did not understand that the way the program's requirements were structured, millions of men left the home and in fact decided that the need for marriage was trumped by the need -- or desire -- for "free" money.

And yet, rather than retreat from government-run social programs, presidential administrations and lawmakers willingly continue to embrace spending programs that at best do not solve the problems they were created to solve, while at worst they create additional societal problems.

Today, the average citizen lives a fragile existence, in a struggle for survival that can be ended by missing a few paychecks. The carrot at the end of the stick which was formerly known as "the American dream" has been replaced by a whip that can best be described as the American nightmare. You no longer work to achieve a better life for yourselves and your children. You work to keep a roof over your head, and you pray that you don't lose it because of oppressive taxation. Most Americans are oblivious to the excessive taxation, believing it only happens each April 15. They are not told by leaders or most of the media that besides income tax, they are taxed for just about every action they take. Go over a bridge, pay a toll (tax); paying your utility bills, pay surcharges (taxes); buy a product, pay sales tax; buy fuel for a vehicle, pay federal and state taxes.

Americans become de facto slaves when fear replaces incentive such as motivation to work. The leftist media regurgitates liberal-left talking points disguised as news stories about the wealthy living it up while the common man and woman struggles to feed themselves and their children. The idea is as old as Marxism. Even older. Create dissatisfaction to the point that people will seek out populists who promise much but deliver nothing but more power to themselves and their puppet masters.

The latest promise of a heaven on earth is Obama's medical care plan. Dressed up with flowery language and high-sounding platitudes, it is nothing more than a grand power grab of life-and-death decision-making.

A friend asked me rhetorically: Why would Americans turn over their health and welfare -- their very lives -- to a bunch of crooked politicians who spend most of their time covering up, lying, cajoling and cheating, all in the name of power?

Why are Americans so quick to turn life-and-death decisions to a government that continues to have a problem covering up its sex scandals? Could it be they want to be enslaved?

WOW !!!
Nathan, you picked my brain!! I agree with every word from start to finish. I have probably thought about every sentence you wrote, but could not say it coherently. Thank you for an article everyone should read and save.

The only things...
The only things the federal government does well are provide a national defense and build interstates; most of the rest of its spending and programs would not be recognized by our Founding Fathers as a power granted to the federal government under the Constitution.

We enslave ourselves and dishonor the sacrifices of our forefathers when WE ALLOW this to happen. We have to demand that Congress listen to us and only do those things Congress is authorized to do under Article 1, Section 8. (If you aren't familiar with it, read it and then see how well our government follows its own laws.)

It's time to stand up, be heard, and vote the bums out. We have hired (elected) power-hungry, cowardly politicians instead of insightful, courageous statesmen.

I want to be free to provide for myself and accept all the risks and rewards that brings. I don't want to be dependent upon or indebted to government.

Is it slavery to be guided by better men
Is it slavery to acknowledge the intellectual and moral superiority of our rulers? As every American knows, only the most noble, trustworthy, and outstanding among the citizenry are selected to issue dictates to the populace. The title of Politician is held by only those who are of the elite set, and as such such individuals are destined to command us.

Our rulers are self sacrificing individuals who dedicate their lives to caring for the commoners. Smaller men would simply allow us to wallow in our ineptness, but our great rulers actually take the time out of their important lives to guide those who are less talented and honorable than they are. Is it to much to turn over our lives to their dictates, for will we all not be better off if we serve them as our true Lords and Masters? Can it really be better for us to run our own lives in an inept manner when bliss and splendor can be ours for the paultry price of mere subjugation?

As progressive Americans, we know that it is best to let our rulers command us, otherwise we shall only perish if we rely on our own laughable talents to see us through life. It is indeed best to live as so-called slaves for better men than we. The guidance that our rulers offer us ensures we are better off than if we are "free". As any progressive American can tell you, iIt is best to serve as a slave that is cared for than to live as a free man who has to fend for himself.

In Jest, You Reveal the Truth
LD,

It's sad that your satire is a little too close to the reality this time. Most Americans don't really understand liberty, can't handle liberty and certainly won't fight for it. They will settle for the illusion of liberty, a few crumbs of comfort and security.

The answer to the last question
is contained in the first part of this article: "And most of these citizens don't even realize what they're doing, because the news media are failing to perform their role as purveyors of truth and accuracy."

The simple fact is, the "news media" is now an instrument of the government. when governments control the media to spread their propaganda, we are their subjects, nothing more than slaves of political power and greed.

Massah Obama
Massah Obama, he gon' take care o' us. He sed he wuz. All we gots to do is vote for him an' do whut he tell us to do. He got our backs.

He know whuts best for us. If he tell us to pick dat cotton...we do dat. Dem black folk usta do dat. Now we white folks gots to do it. Massah Obama said so. He our massah.

Let's Start By...

Establishing a VAT, if ALL other taxes, fees, and whatnots are ABOLISHED.

Sticking to the Constitution.

Upholding the 10th Amendment.

Repealing the 16th and 17th Amendments.

And, make literacy and two-American parents a requirement for citizenship.

Yes, for Citizenship tests, but in English only.

Good for Tabor, tell it like it is . . .
Folks, it IS slavery. Not just to blacks this time but to EVERYBODY - but our foolish GOP leaders lack the fortitude, courage, and guts to frame it as such!!!! God, they are dumb.

Massah Obama, suh, tell me what I am allowed to use as energy, oh Massah, my savior and Lord. Please tell me what I can put in my body and keep as income, Massah. And which doctor I can use Suh, please, I say, do tell me how I should run my life. Because land of the free home of the brave turns out to have been a misnomer.

How we're enslaved
By way of example here's how government drives up the cost of living and makes our lives increasingly tenuous: the just passed Cap & Trade legislation nationalizes California's stringent building codes and imposes them on the other 49 states. This will drive up the cost of housing therefore making the American Dream harder to achieve for more Americans. It will only be a matter of time before Barney Frank et al complain about the lack of affordable housing. A situation they themselves caused.

L'Internationale - I
L'Internationale - I

Arise, wretched of the earth
Arise, convicts of hunger
Reason thunders in its crater
This is the eruption of the end
Of the past let us wipe the slate clean
Masses, slaves, arise, arise
The world is about to change its foundation
We are nothing, let us be all

This is the final struggle
Let us group together, and tomorrow
The Internationale
Will be the human race

There are no supreme saviours
Neither God, nor Caesar, nor tribune.
Producers, let us save ourselves
Decree the common welfare
So that the thief expires,
So that the spirit be pulled from its prison,
Let us fan the forge ourselves
Strike the iron while it is hot

This is the final struggle
Let us group together, and tomorrow
The Internationale
Will be the human race

The state represses and the law cheats
The tax bleeds the unfortunate
No duty is imposed on the rich
'Rights of the poor' is a hollow phrase
Enough languishing in custody
Equality wants other laws:
No rights without obligations, it says,
And as well, no obligations without rights

This is the final struggle
Let us group together, and tomorrow
The Internationale
Will be the human race

Hideous in their self-glorification
Kings of the mine and rail
Have they ever done anything other
Than steal work?
Into the coffers of that lot,
What work creates has melted
In demanding that they give it back
The people wants only its due.

This is the final struggle
Let us group together, and tomorrow
The Internationale
Will be the human race

L'Internationale - II

The kings make us drunk with their fumes,
Peace among ourselves, war to the tyrants!
Let the armies go on strike,
Stocks in the air, and break ranks
If these cannibals insist
On making heroes of us,
Soon they will know our bullets
Are for our own generals

This is the final struggle
Let us group together, and tomorrow
The Internationale
Will be the human race

Labourers, peasants, we are
The great party of workers
The earth belongs only to men
The idle will go reside elsewhere
How much of our flesh they feed on,
But if the ravens and vultures
Disappear one of these days
The sun will always shine

This is the final struggle
Let us group together, and tomorrow
The Internationale
Will be the human race

And, didn't it work out so swell then, especially since the Crème de la Crème made out like bandits.

They still do.

How is it that much of L'Internationale is exactly what we (those opposed to DC) have been saying?

No, not regarding Marxism, Socialism, Totalitarianism, Communism, Tsarism, Government by FIAT and Politburo, etc., but we want Capitalism.

Give me Liberty, including Capitalism, or give me death!

Just say NO! to Tyrants!

Obama's Land of Servitude

An indentured servant is a form of debt bondage worker.

Historically 'Indentured Servants' were required to work a specific number of years, usually (3 to 7), but the 'Hope' Obama brings with his 'Change', is that the 'Indentured Servants' will only serve from April 15 of one year to April 15 of the next.

The 'Indentured Servitude' class or 'Collective' that Barack Obama is creating, will only be a segment of the American Citizens, comprised of those who willingly work in an attempt to provide for themselves and their families - all others are exempt.

The children of the 'Indentured Servant Class' automatically inherit the 'Debt Bondage' of their parents.

Barack Obama hails this 'Indentured Collective' as Patriotic and a 'Sacrifice for the Common Good'.

This 'Collective' is quite similar to 'Share Cropping', where the worker is allowed to keep a small portion of their labor for personal use.

Barack Obama is NOW destroying the American farmer and food supply, by with holding water to 100,000 square miles of the most fertile land on Earth in California.

The control of the 'Food Supply' is necessary to Barack Obama, so that he can ration enough food for the 'Indentured Servants' to remain alive and work.

Those who are NOT in the 'Indentured Servant Collective' will become the owners and operators, of the 'Indentured Servitude Collective'.

This is but one small aspect of the 'Hope and Change' Barack Obama is bringing to America.

I’ve asked myself
this question so often.

We constantly hear liberals decry the horrors of slavery, yet they forget that slaves had all the essentials of life. They had housing, food, clothing, medical care – some plantation owners even gave their slaves lifetime food and housing after they got too old to work. (retirement benefits).

What they did not have was any control over their destiny. They had enough to subsist, but they could never dream of anything better.

If Americans end up paying all their disposable income into the tax system so that they have only enough money for food, clothing, housing and basic essentials, they are no better off than the slaves on the plantations.

When people tell you that less is more, they are lying. And they would never agree to that philosophy when it came time to negotiate THEIR OWN paycheck.

Slavery
Why any clear thinking person would choose to live in bondage to a dictator is beyond my comprehension.

Those of us who have worked and saved for our senior years will have nothing left to live on if Obama gets his way. That is what he wants. Subservience.

He looks at those who are successful and believes it was stolen from those 'less fortunate'. He wants them to have it back!

He is causing class warfare and therefore, rebellion. I do not believe able-bodied,hardworkers will sit idly by and give up all they have sacrificed for and hand it over to nonproductive parasites.

When the revolution comes...and it will, they will have only themselves to blame. Blood will run in the streets, just like in the Third World Countries. Only a dictator and the Brown Shirts will be able to control them. Shades of Saddam.

the emancipation proclamation
did not free any slaves. the proclamation was explicitely applied only to slaves under the control of the confederacy, while slaves under the control of the united states remained slaves. it is no surprise that pre 1866 slavery has been replaced by modern liberal approved slavery. slavery has been a part of human existence as long as "civilization" has existed, and isnt about to go away now. the only question is who will be master and who will be slave. liberals are the one group most determined to be slaves.

Excellent Article
Nathan. Now the fun begins. Can a liberal refute any argument of this well written column?

Great artilcle--
I believe that the USA has developed too many sheep and created too many puppet masters, who control the puppets in DC, who in turn, do their best to control the great herd of sheep. Have a conversation with almost any librat or apologist for illegal aliens and you have found a sheep that the politicians love.

Better skip the pretentious prose
I hate seeing the misuse of Elliot's famous lines:

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

Many people do, like that judge who sentenced the terrorist Moussari to two life terms in prison. It was so Moussari would "die not with a bang but with a whimper". All people die, some with "whimpers" and some without. And the judge was thereby denigrating all people.

Nathan takes awkwardly uses the quote and also takes license by prophesying taxes will destroy our society, not with a bang but with a whimper, and focusing on this subject when many other factors are also threatening society. Sounds like alarmist ranting.

Sure, overtaxation is always potentially devastating, and BHO and Co. are hard at work at overspending, but there is no certain reason to imagine they will succeed without a lot of opposition.

Dare I say its game over people!
Almost seems that way. A pack of sheep we have become indeed. Our freedoms and liberties are quickly being eradicated after years of slowly evaporating under the guise of safety and security, if even that.
Around the world brutal regimes are becoming increasingly belligerent towards a weak and simpering U.S. Administration. Sadly our own Resident in Chief openly embraces these despots and thugs.
Sad times when freedom dies without much more than a whimper.

fed openly intends to take total control
curmugeon,

The Emancipation Proclamation applied to the slave states, but did exclude the slaves owned in border states. This was necessary to keep the border states from joining the Confederacy and winning the war for them.

Now I think talent scout or some others will clear this up better than I could, so I will leave off.

This article was subject to word limits, because there are countless areas in which this gov't has proclaimed its open intentions of taking control of our lives, including state resources and economies, medical care, energy use and production, educational freedom, gun rights, political speech on the radio, manufacturing, shipping, and banking.

No gov't windfarms, no fed. grid
Since the Administration wants to replace our power grid with their own government owned, "green" energy supply, the appropriate thing to do at this point is to disrupt any windfarm construction.

They will eventually try to ration amongst us what the gov't produces.

If the feds try to place any electronic devices on our homes, we can take our favorite piece and shoot it off. Perhaps one could go to jail for discharging a firearm, but lots of others will be joining you and it will be a grand time, meeting other patriots face to face!

cold fusion
Correct, it was a calculated ploy. Lincoln was never terribly serious about ending slavery, he was a flaming racist himself (he wanted to ship all the freed slaves overseas). It also didn't help that slavery was on a decline all by itself with many plantation owners finding it cheaper and more effective to just hire laborers who effectively used new technology. Slavery declined by 50% from US independence to the run up to the Civil War.

The biggest cause of the Civil War was economics, not slavery economics, but agrarian vs industrial economics. The reigning US policy of the time was to subsidize northern industry with southern farm export revenue. The north simply had more people and states so it could pretty much cram through whatever legislation it wanted. "We won, so we have a broad mandate," sort of attitude that we're seeing today with Obama. The North's desire for a rote democracy tipped off the Civil War, not slavery. The south was simply getting tired of being tramped on every time northern states unilaterally decided what was good for the nation, usually at the expense of the south.

The USA was the only nation in the history of the world to wage a war to end slavery, and even then, slavery was only a minor side issue and used as a method of punishment over the defeated south. The slavery issue was there to justify the deaths of possibly over 1 million Americans (620,000 military deaths and who knows how many civilians from combat, disease, food shortages, etc).

Lincoln is one of America's bigges villains. He has such a popular image becuase Lincoln was the father of the all-powerful central government in America. Without the excuse of slavery, the north would have simply lost. "Centralized Federal government control over states" doesn't have the same ring as a rallying cry for the northern public as "end slavery" did.

Obama Cold and Calculating Narcissist

Barack Obama revealed more of his 'cold and Calculating' ways, during the ABC special on ObamaCare June 24, 2009.

Barack Obama stated that Health Care costs could be dramatically reduced, if we didn't 'Waste Money' on those people who are terminally ill or whose 'Quality of Life' after treatment would not be very good.

To make his point, Barack Obama spoke of his elderly Grandmother, who fell and broke her hip after being diagnosed with Cancer.

Obama stated, "and the question was, does she get hip replacement surgery, even though she was fragile enough they were not sure how long she would last?"

Barack Obama stated that deciding when life begins is a question beyond "His Paygrade", but apparently when life should end, is within the province of Barack Obama and his appointees and employees.

Barack Obama will decide 'Quality of Life' and the value of that life.

This is reminiscent of the argumentation of Hitler and Goebbels, that 'Useless Eaters' should be removed as a 'Sacrifice for the Common Good'.

Hitler placed these people in 'Ovens and Gas Chambers', Barack Obama will simply deny medical aid and treatments, a slower and more painful death.

The goal, wittingly or unwittingly is to strip any vestige of humanity and dignity from the sufferers and those who love them and are devoted to them.

Barack Obama wants American Citizens to become as 'Cold and Calculating' as he is.

The 'Sacrifice for the Common Good' as prescribed by Barack Obama, is not only our 'Wealth, Health and Lives', but any semblance of character, morals or values.

Emancipation Proclamation--first two par
Whereas on the 22nd day of September, A.D. 1862, a proclamation was issued by the President of the United States, containing, among other things, the following, to wit:

"That on the 1st day of January, A.D. 1863, all persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free; and the executive government of the United States, including the military and naval authority thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of such persons and will do no act or acts to repress such persons, or any of them, in any efforts they may make for their actual freedom."

Imagine that! A black pres. set free by the EP now in rebellion to the United States of America.

Emancipation Proclamation
Historically speaking the Emancipation Proclamation freed no slaves in the United States, because it applied only to slaves in the Confederate States of America over which Lincoln had no power until his armies reconquered them over the ensuing two years. There were still four states outside the Confederacy that held slaves legally until the 14th amendment was passed in December 1865.

Why do the poor have this much power
It isn't safe for society or the world's economy for the poor to have this much power. I do not mean poor voters there are not enough of them. Why did the poor have enough power to bring a communist into power. Why did the poor have enough power to push banks into handing out high-risk loans. This is an issue of slavery but it is also an issue of racism. There are people in this country that believe in and love liberty and there are those that love and believe in their race. Their race is their priority. That is racism.

THE ANTI LIBERAL ZONE
RIPS a new lie from Comrade Barry and in the spirit of Affirmative Action (how barry became potus BTW), the ALZ RIPS the eight traitors of the GOP and has NEW INFORMATION on Judas McHugh of NY.

Click on my handle to check it out.

Independance day is next week.
Will we sit by and grill hot dogs or use it to stand up and show these corrupt SOB's in DC that we are men and not sheep?

They rely on our complacency, ignorance and laziness about all things political to push through legislation designed to strip us of our rights and freedoms little by little, they have been doing it for years.

Il Duce believes he has a mandate to destroy the capitalist system, that is his goal IMO and if we don't send him and those despicible sycophants on the hill that voted for this carbon tax a message next week, the senate will probably go along.

They know many of us are angry, they just don't think there are enough of us to worry about, that we'll get over it and it'll be business as usual. They need to be afraid of US, not the other way around as it is now.

They think that way because it has been ever so for 40 GD years. We get our pockets picked to support slugs who should be working and we complain amongst ourselves, but PC politics keeps us silent where it counts.

We write to these morons, but they dismiss us with platitudes, if they respond at all because they get very few complaints and dismiss us as kooks.

We need to overwhelm them with protests, increase our tax with-holding to starve the beast and send them deluges of emails complaining till their system shuts down.

Then vote their sorry butts out in 2010, but, they need to hear from us NOW.

If it's not in the Constitution, we will no longer pay for it...period!

The Authority on Slavery
If you want to read the AUTHORITY on the new slavery, then this blog is a MUST READ! http://www.theblacksphere.net.

You will be HOOKED with one read!

If only the liberals would've listened
Way back when LBJ was President the conservatives tried to explain the details of a "welfare" state, but the liberals and Democrats would not have it any other way. Now, here we are in a socialist America with everyone feeling their entitled to government paid everything. No one understands the meaning of hard work and wages; the majority want Uncle Sam to pay the bills!

God help us get back to where we were as a country...

Joycey from OH et al

I was working on a computer project in Europe and some of the programmers asked me a question.

Why is there so much news about poverty and the poor in America?

I said you are not going to like my answer.

Poverty may not only be the most lucrative business in America, it is also the biggest business in America.

The 'Great Society' initiative by Liberals, has made more millionaires, spawned more ancillary businesses, created more careers and has invested trillions of dollars in property, houses, housing centers, than any other 'Business' in History.

The numbers of the "Poor" have been greatly increased instead of decreasing, because without an increasing supply of the "Poor", this immensely profitable enterprise will become less profitable.

I also said, there is a possibility that "Some" who are involved in this "Scheme" are true believers in helping people and suffer in the 'Dialectical Conundrum' of what they do to help reduce poverty also increases poverty.

Joycey that was my take 10 years ago and I think the problem is much worse now.

The poor do not have any power, it is those who profit from the poor, that control the power.

Far too much logic
and common sense in this article - two things that scare progressives worse than melting ice caps (LIE).

You can't reach these people by facts, as they hold fast to their own truths, the biggest being Obama is Massiah.

Even the relatively ignorant and uninvolved Mexicans I work with are beginning to get a clue. Most came here (legally or became legal) for the American Dream, and now can see it slipping away.

We need to mount a HUGE "missionary" effort in the black community and show them how they've traded slavery for bondage. We also need to take back the government schools, which are modeled on Bill Ayers radical beliefs.

Time to stand up and get others to do likewise.

See you in the streets on the 4th.

Same Old-Same Old
Once again you folks have fallen for the same old game: federal programs are for somebody else, not you. You are white, middle-class, live in small towns, suburbs, the countryside---those benefiting from government programs are black, poor, and urban. We've heard it before.

Look around you. Look in the mirror. Are you over 65? Do you have any relations over 65? Ask them if they consider the Medicare program to be slavery. Ask them if they would more free without Social Security. Has any of you been laid off? Did you consider your Unemployment Insurance to be slavery? Do you, personally, benefit from roads, bridges, dams, national parks and seashores, the Coast Guard, air traffic control, weather prediction, medical research at the National Institutes of Health? Do you have young family members at a state university or a community college? Does this make you a slave to government, or a citizen of a civilized nation?

To "Give Me Liberty", there are some things you CAN'T provide for yourself. Use your brain. I assume you want a safe food supply: can you take a food chemist and a lab trailer with you every time you do your grocery shopping? Do you want planes in the air to do their own thing like good independent Americans, or do you want an Air Traffic Control system?

The anti-government message is about giving power to business, not to you. Have some sense.

Shine, Boss?
Yassuh, dez allus tryin to hep us, dem Gubment mens. Dat old boy gib me 25 cents and I shined dem shoes up real good 'n nice. But den he say he need sum o dat money back. Dat ol boy ben cheatin on me wid a shoe shine tax. I ain't gwine to shine no more of dem Gubment shoes fo shure.

Avoid the VAT. It's a very bad idea. The fact that Ebenezer Rahm's brother is behind it nixes it for me right there. I don't need any more info on it to know it's a deceitful son a gun being trotted out by crooks.

When are we going to stand up and say we've had enough of this regime?

The Emancipation Proclamation
I can agree with Nathon's article except for the first statement which is untrue due to a common misunderstaning of the Emancipation Proclamation. It did not free any slaves at all.

Here is the first paragraph of the proclamation:

"That on the 1st day of January, A.D. 1863, all persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free; and the executive government of the United States, including the military and naval authority thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of such persons and will do no act or acts to repress such persons, or any of them, in any efforts they may make for their actual freedom. "

As it clearly states, the proclamation was directed specifically to those states that were "in rebellion," in other words, the Confederate States of America. These states had seceded from the United States as was their Constitutional right. Neither the President or Congress of the United States had any jurisdiction over the Confederacy.

Aslo, since the scope of the Proclamtion was so narrowly defined, it did not affect those slave states that did not secede.

One more point, the Proclamtion contained the following clause:

"and which excepted parts are for the present left precisely as if this proclamation were not issued."

Nathan
"...Today, the average citizen lives a fragile existence, in a struggle for survival that can be ended by missing a few paychecks. .."

LOL WOW thank you for admitting that approximately 40 years of conservatism failed to improve the lives of Americans. Reference slavery, conservatism crushed workers wages and severely damaged social values. Slavery? Working two jobs for very low wages just to feed and house your family is darn near slavery; to near to my mind. Again thank you for acknowledging the failure of conservatism.

"...A friend asked me rhetorically: Why would Americans turn over their health and welfare -- their very lives -- to a bunch of crooked politicians who spend most of their time covering up, lying, cajoling and cheating, all in the name of power?"

LOL Are you a used car salesmen? This is the classic false choice they so often use. Right now many Americans have a low wage insurance clerk or contractor, usually with little or no medical education, deciding whether their doctor can treat or medicate them. I want healthcare that works and gives the best value for money. US Healthcare under performs the rest of the world and costs far more. You disguise competence as a "freedom" issue. It is not there is zero freedom in being forced to over pay for poor healthcare. Competence matters.

Taxation without Representation
As a citizen, who watched the entire debate and vote on the floor of our House of so-called Representatives (loosely used term)on Friday, June 26, we have officialy been taxed into oblivion, barring God Almighty's intervention in the Senate.
"Cap and Tax" should cripple this nation long before Obamacare sees the light of day.
Pray for the peace of America as well as the peace of Jerusalem!

I see Lilly has drunk of the Kool-aid.
If you had invested what they stole from you with that Poni scheme of SS, you would have about 4 times what you get now per month and then be able to leave it to your kids instead of some welfare slug.

If people had to work for a living instead of sucking off the public teat, they would have learned by now that what made America great was a work ethic and the freedom to persue ones dreams...not everyone succeeds, everyone should have the opportunity to do so however.

The folks you enslave simply wanted what was their right and left alone would have done quite well as the rest of us have.

If you spent a week working around the projects and observed how your money is wasted, you'd wise up very fast.

For example, one person has a fridge go bad so they get a new one thanks to our tax money...others see that and refuse to accept the answer that it simply went bad, so they stab an ice pick into the freezer coils and get a new one as well...another has a stopped up toilet, do they clear it? No, they call it in and if the plumber doesn't show up quickly enough, they smash it with a hammer, flooding the apt and others as well to get a quicker response and anew toilet.. name brand of course, no wal-mart stuff for our protected class.

Electricity goes out for the rest of us, but not there..huge co-gen plants kick in because if they don't they'll burn the place down...we suffered for 9 days awhile back in an ice storm, but the slugs were warm and cozy and we got to pay for it..how very nice.

You libs haven't a clue about this...the items you mentioned ARE in some cases a gov't responsibility, but the rest of it is a vote buying scheme and extortion worthy of the mafia.

My brother worked as a maintenance guy for 10 years and should write a book of the abuses he witnessed by the "residents" who have come to believe all this is owed to them.

Do you think anyone would act like that if they had to PAY for it?

When Times Were Free
Lily--Looking in the mirror

1. Yes, I am over 65 and pay my own health care to date.
2. My social security buys me a couple of dinners out. I never relied upon retiring on SS and most of the people I know do not rely upon SS, including my children because it is bankrupt, to give them a healthy retirement

3. Yes, I was laid off but never collected Unemployment--I just went out and got another job! I considered it an embarrassment to use this system.

4. Your roads, bridges, dams, come from the Military budget. Check it out! and I have no problem expecting that privilege from my taxes.

5. I had three children attend university and they all paid for their own education through hard work at a job, military service, and academic scholarships.

6. Yes, anything the government wants to take away from me such as freedoms to work for our education, retirement, the ability to pay our government taxes for "protection" I consider being a slave to.

7. I was raised on a farm and definitely worked for my meals with more than enough to sell or give to other families. Our food was always "organic" for we didn't need anyone to tell us otherwise. That is why I don't need "medicare" or SS.

Emancipation Proclamation
Historically speaking the Emancipation Proclamation freed no slaves in the United States, because it applied only to slaves in the Confederate States of America over which Lincoln had no power until his armies reconquered them over the ensuing two years..."

The Confederacy was always US territory that was why we had that altercation.

Apparently not a student of history.
As a few have noted, the Emancipation Proclamation did not free the slaves, the 13th Amendment did. But it is not surprising that someone who thinks the status of Americans in the 21st century is similar to slavery before the civil war is not exactly a master of history.

Also curious, why does Tabor think that utility bills count as taxation. Of course they have taxes on them, but does Tabor think we have a right to water, electricity, etc. for free?

There are serious arguments to be had over the proper level of taxation, but any argument that compares current Americans to slaves just serves to make clear that the person making the argument is not to be taken seriously.

Nathan
"Why are Americans so quick to turn life-and-death decisions to a government that continues to have a problem covering up its sex scandals? Could it be they want to be enslaved?"

You are right in every respect. As I see it, it will be government turds who will start handing down the guidelines. No more artificial knees or hips for anyone 65 or older. Heart surgery? What's that?

On top of the fact that the government will decide your fate as you grow older, they will also stick their nose into the nurseries to determine if a child with multiple, operable defects should get them if, for example, retardation is suspected as well.

Well, Obama got elected and now we are watching our freedom go down the drain and our money squandered. Our taxes are going to be out of sight. Wake up children, America has been lost in a sea of sewage makers.

Barack Obama will be CEO and COO

Barack Obama will be Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the largest Conglomerate or Enterprise, with the largest Operating Budget in the History of Mankind - ObamaCare.

The only actual 'Business Experience' Barack
Obama has, is selling subscriptions door to door for the New York Times while he attended Columbia University - he said he was not very good at it.

Congress will control the budget - Barack Obama will dispense and manage the money.

A new department will likely be created by Congress, 'Department of Health Care' which will be a Cabinet Position.

Barack Obama will issue 'Executive Orders' to this new Department.

"Executive orders, in United States law, is an official direction, proclamation, or statement issued by the President.

Executive orders carry the force of law, even though they do not require congressional approval.

The President's power to issue executive orders is an implied power-that is, it is not specifically mentioned in the Constitution of the United States. However, it is considered necessary for effective government.

Executive orders can be controversial because they allow the President to make policy changes while bypassing legislative processes set forth by the Constitution.

Some executive orders have been challenged or overturned by Congress (2/3 majority vote) or by the Supreme court.

STOP
paying federal taxes. They can't throw millions of us in jail.

Activist government is based on slavery
Whenever someone's life is put to the pursuits of others, it is slavery. If anyone is forced to give any of the fruit of their labor to someone else, it is slavery.

All wealth redistribution, which is what was just described above, is slavery.

Isn't it so ironic that it is a black man who is trying to finish off forcing us all into bondage?

At the end of the day, I don't think freedom loving Americans will allow this corrupt pack of thieves to steal our lives and liberty from us. Woe to them when the giant awakens.

To Esther
If you worked all your life you are probably getting more than $1000 a month in Social Security. You are blowing the whole thing on "a couple of dinners out"? I'm not sure that statement qualifies as "I am a slave to government"---it sounds more like "I am ripping off the government", taking money meant for necessities and spending it for luxuries, which is what I thought your kind was accusing poor minorities of doing.

Just a few more facts of life: 1) In our present economy, many who are being laid off are, for the first time in their lives, finding that they can't "just go out and get another job" as they always have before. One of them who is personally known to me, laid off last November, recently attempted suicide as a result of her desperation and shame. Your attitude seems smug. 2) All road construction in the United States is not paid for by the military. 3) Whether or not you "need" Medicare, your hospital bills will automatically go first to Medicare and only secondarily to your private insurer. Thus, you do "need" Medicare. No hospital bills yet? Just wait. "Time and chance happeneth to them all."

You Too can feel the Obama Partnership

"...That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn't.
Barack Obama, Cairo Egypt, 2009

Here is an example of the Barack Obama partnership with Islam, based on true Islam.
--------------------------------------------------

"DHAKA June 29, 2009: A widow was whipped 202 times and a man 101 times following a fatwa by a religious leader for their alleged involvement in "anti-social activity" in a village in southeastern Bangladesh, prompting local protests and action by the police.

Piara Begum, a widow of 40, and Mamun Miah, 25, were whipped before hundreds of people at Khaiyar in Comilla district Saturday night.

The woman fell unconscious and was rushed to hospital. Doctors said she was critically injured and needed to be given intensive treatment.

Miah was whipped 101 times, The Daily Star newspaper said Monday.

Punishment under a fatwa is held illegal as per a high court ruling of 2001 in Bangladesh that has a predominant Sunni Muslim population.

The police arrested six people, including Moulana Mohammed Manirul Islam, a religious leader working in the local madrassa.

Piara Begum filed a case with the Debidwar police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act."

13th Amendment is simply a confirmation
of the EP
"The Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution officially abolished and continues to prohibit slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime. It was adopted on December 6, 1865, and was then declared in a proclamation of Secretary of State William H. Seward on December 18.

Lincoln and others were concerned that the Emancipation Proclamation would be seen as a temporary war measure, and so, besides freeing slaves in those states where slavery was still legal, they supported the Amendment as a means to guarantee the permanent abolition of slavery."

So what's new?
"Today, the average citizen lives a fragile existence, in a struggle for survival that can be ended by missing a few paychecks."

The vast bulk of humanity has always lived from hand to mouth. Do you think people had it better when they worked 12 hours a day for a dollar and were thrown onto the street when they got injured? If you did manage to save something you could lose it all in bank failure. It's only in the past hundred years when government programs like workmen's compensation, unemployment insurance, social security, and the FDIC started to alleviate that.

Retired Geek 7:23am
RG, you're so right about the horrors that are awaiting us through liberal "compassion."

While these corrupt politicians ignore the realities of unfunded liabilities for social security and medicare (among other things), they know a tsunami is approaching now that the boomers are starting to retire.

People have been asking for sometime how the system can possibly handle all of these new retirees....now we know. They plan on "offing" us. The tsunami won't be that big if you don't actually expend that many resources. Imagine, most of us have spent money all our lives to pay for our health insurance, and put money away to fund our retirements. Now, the political class, most of whom have never done anything real outside of government, are going to stiff us. They will take our money, redirect our health care spending, and give the stolen loot to their favored constituencies, including illegal aliens that haven't paid a dime into the system.

These people are complete and total tyrants. And we sing songs as they lead us into the gas chambers.

simple formula
This is a rather simple formula.
1. People accept handouts from government
2. Government sets controls for the handouts
3. Government must monitor the rules
4. The populace must follow the rules
5. Government punishes for non-compliance or denies services

I do not own my house or the land it sits on, the moment I do not pay the ever increasing tax, they take both. If I want a loaf of bread it is taxed, communication, clothing, lights, heat, transportation are also taxed, in many cases many times over. It is quite simple I am in bondage to local and federal government. I will not be allowed to survive unless I follow their rules. Sounds like slavery to me.

Majority fears true freedom
We would all do well to recall that our own revolution was brought about by a very few people--we have them to thank for our freedom.
The Lilly's of that day were quite happy to remain under King's rule.

Our founders knew that the majority of people will seek security and want someone to take care of them, and they also knew that this would be the chink in the armor of freedom, as power-lusting politicians would gladly step in and promise said security.
That is why they set up a republic instead of a democracy. An attempt to protect us from liberals.

Lilly
I don't live in constant fear. So "no" I am not going to haul a chemist to test all my food.

It is idiotic ideas like yours which are killing America.

The Constitution speaks to interstate commerce, and I imagine that air traffic control would fall under that like interstates would. Don't be a simpleton.

One more thing, Lilly
I was laid off for a year and didn't take any unemployment. I practice what I preach. It's my job to live with my decisions and the ramifications, not take your money via taxes to do so.

Weather prediction - local news channels and the Weather Channel do that just fine

State and community colleges - state government, not federal

NIH - private companies and scientists do research

So why is the federal government doing those things too? How much money would be freed up for research, education, charity, if we weren't being raped by our government?

PV from CT et al

This happened within the lifetime of many present day American Citizens.

"Code named "Aktion T4," the Nazi euthanasia program to eliminate "life unworthy of life" at first focused on newborns and very young children.

Midwives and doctors were required to register children up to age three who showed symptoms of mental retardation, physical deformity, or other symptoms included on a questionnaire from the Reich Health Ministry.

A decision on whether to allow the child to live was then made by three medical experts solely on the basis of the questionnaire, without any examination and without reading any medical records.

The Nazi euthanasia program quickly expanded to include older disabled children and adults.

Hitler's decree of October, 1939, typed on his personal stationery and back dated to Sept. 1, enlarged "the authority of certain physicians to be designated by name in such manner that persons who, according to human judgment, are incurable can, upon a most careful diagnosis of their condition of sickness, be accorded a mercy death."

http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/timeline/euthanasia.h tm

-----------------------------------------------------

Hitler was very popular with the German people and 89.9% voted for him in his election.

The NAZI's (National Socialist German Workers Party) created at least 6 'Death Centers' for these Mercy Killings and were very 'Aggressive', about sending weak, handicapped, elderly and seriously ill people to them.

There are over 5,000 'Life Centers' in America that we call Hospitals.

Barack Obama has indicated that ObamaCare will be very 'Passive', about sending weak, handicapped, elderly and seriously ill people to them.

Emancipation Proclamation
It may have signaled the end of slavery which was already on the way out but it did not set slaves free in anything but states which had left the union. The Emancipation proclamation has been so misunderstood by so many, it was a military move by Lincoln and meant to keep slaves from fighting with the Confederacy. The Civil War was not fought over slavery but states rights. However those who won get to write the history and slavery was an emotional issue.

Justin, and the Em. Proclamation
As I said, the border states--Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland & Missouri--could have been disasterous for the Union had they joined with the Confederacy, so the Emancipation Proclamation applied to the states in Rebellion.

The Proclamation, while it did not actually free slaves in the Confederacy, was a powerful symbol that slavery would be abolished and the slaves would be free--if the Union won the war.

Fully understanding that a proclamation was not enough, Lincoln, with Republican support, called for a Constitutional Amendment to terminate and prohibit slavery forever.

Slavery was mentioned many times in the secession documents of the Conf. States. It was also a time in our history when expansion out west was very much on American's mind. Slavery was poised to spread into the new states.

Two Classes will Remain
The Left has accomplished by increments over decades, NOW a fait accompli *COUP* in the U.S. by brilliantly selecting the perfect, *untouchable* Front Man (the calculatedly unknown but thoroughly radical Leftist black man Obama), and bamboozling intellectually shallow, highly gullible (good intentions were your playable weakness) voters who have lost all sense of discernment regarding reality. The Top Military Echelon (Pentagon) have sold out the rank & file; Big Corporations & Banks have Colluded with Big Government; the Justice and State Depts are in the bag. The Federal Reserve (THE BIGGEST INTERVENTIONIST OF ALL) is getting *greater* authority over our shrinking economy. *Thousands* of 'community activist organizations' funded by Taxpayer $$/Foundation Grants have played their roles. Con artistry galore, topped off by MSM collusion (running interference for any exposures/distracted with junk stories). Morality has been mocked & made 'relative' into oblivion. IT'S ALL BASES COVERED; WE, THE PEOPLE ARE SUNK.

You can't possibly MISS the feeding frenzy, and rapid stripping of Wealth and Freedom from the lower middle and middle classes.

What will SOON remain are TWO CLASSES ONLY: the POOR and the ELITES, just like many Third World Dictatorships.

A Huge Apology is Due the South
The South was INVADED and men fought to preserve their land. STATES are supposed to have all Rights 'not specifically allotted to the Federal sector.' Thanks to Lincoln - who BEGAN THE CIVIL WAR BY *HIS* UNCONSTITUTIONAL *CHOICE* BY FORCE - the Right to Secede from a Govt that is Tyrannous is dead and undoable today. Terrorism atop Humiliation ('scorched earth' methods reminiscent of the Bolsheviks) were applied in defeating Freedom.

The Northern Elitists have bullied more honorable Americans ever since. Central Government has been our Slave Master since 1865, with some periods less overt. Today, Obama's tactics are the ugly LEVIATHAN OF TYRANNY writ large again, many similarities with Reconstruction.

I GUESS THE REAL MYSTERY IS HOW AMERICA STAVED OFF ITS TOTAL DOWNFALL THIS LONG!!

Saw this coming...
As soon as Hillary was out of the running, my evil (and of course racist, just ask any dem) mind thought: how ironic, a black president will be the one to effectively bring back slavery to the American people. Only this time, it will be for all of us.

I see I'm not the only one who thought that. There was a commercial a few years ago, about the fact that cigarette companies were targetting the black community to buy their product. It had a catchy slogan/song, with one line, "first you wanted us to pick it, now you want us to smoke it, nuh-uh, you must be jokin'". Too bad more people of all colors couldn't see this coming. We will all be unwilling slaves because a large majority of people will help those in power ensnare us all with projects, programs and other crap that will make us all dependent on the 'daddy government'. Obama and his fat cat friends can sit on their verandas and sip mint julips while we all work to keep them from breaking a sweat. The Devil must be dancing a jig at the irony of it all.
Just what we needed...a prez with daddy/mommy issues, with racial over/undertones. *eep*

No Suzi, no appology and no mystery.
Suzi said, I GUESS THE REAL MYSTERY IS HOW AMERICA STAVED OFF ITS TOTAL DOWNFALL THIS LONG!!

No Suzi it is not a mystery. If you listen carefully to the Gettysburg address and Lincoln's 2nd Inaugural Address, you will see plainly expressed that this country is founded on the idea that "gov't of the people, by the people and for the people" must include those who were formerly considered property. We survived because we recognized that all men are created equal and are endowed with certain inalienable rights.

Not Suzi, Serene1
.

Freedom?
The first half Nathan Tabor's article is reasonable—although debatable—but the second half develops into pure right-wing, reactionary rhetoric. If we look at history, we find that Christian conservatives—possibly like Mr. Tabor—have been against every presently legitimized movement to extend democratic and human rights, i.e., women's rights to vote, civil rights regardless of race (including interracial marriage, which was fought against on primarily religious grounds in some states, even 10 years after the Civil Rights Act was ratified). See http://www.stopthereligiousright.com for a compete discussion of this issue.

As far as economic measures, it was the democratic labor unions [http://www.continuetolearn.uiowa.edu/laborctr/child_labor/about/us_history.html] that fought for child labor laws and continues to struggle for minimum wage requirements—which still do not allow for a living wage. If it were up to conservatives, people of little talent would still be making 40 cents an hour, four twelve to fifteen per day, and every one of their children would be working to help support the family.

Viewing history, as such, I don't think a representative of conservative Christian thought has any room to talk about anti-slavery, in any sense. The attributes of a Republican legacy sometimes lauded to Lincoln are often undeserving. [The Republican Charade: Lincoln and His Party, by Clyde Wilson]

It comes down to the "created=" clause
Natural philosophers, Christians, and a few others agree:

The value of a human life is not determined by the State, it is intrinsic and inherent. We are "made in the image of God."

Tad, look to your own party and you will see that progressives seek a sliding scale for the value of each life, and that value is assigned by the government. An example is Pres. Obama's insistence that a baby born alive after a failed abortion is to be killed outside the womb. Though it was born, it is not wanted and therefore has no worth nor protection nor guarantee from the State.

Now go live in Saudi Arabia, where there never was a Christian or Natural Philosopher's influence.

He's a Tad crazy
Go spew your Leftist hate somewhere else where it's appreciated.

There is no practice more like slavery that denies human rights and treats people like property than abortion. And that is your holy sacrament. You think you have the right to consider unborn humans as your property which somehow gives you the right to kill them to satisfy your own convenience.

I say it is YOU who have no business lecturing anyone on what is moral. You have blood oozing all over you.

The rest of your rant was complete nonsense and just more liberal lies.

EP
Lincoln could make all the proclamations he wanted, but by what legal authority would they stand? Simply a US president has no authority to make such edicts, under the US constitution only a state could make such a determination. Further, as there as no language in the US constitution that hands a state or people over to other states, no state or people is bound to continue in a UNION (not consolidation into a nation)they see as detrimental to them.

tad the liar
Repeat a LIE often enough and fools will believe it. TAD YOUR LIE that people would be forced to work for 40 cents is just that, A LIE. Any business that wants interested workers is going to pay competitive rates. ANY BUSINESS!
More important is this, government is formed to protect life, liberty and property. When "government"(what is so often called government today is not as is illegal under the US constitution) forces someone to pay someone else a certain amount it is theft. One's property is forcibly given to someone else.

an example of the REFUSAL to think
Lilly asks do we want air traffic controllers. The assumption is that it takes GOVERNMENT to do this. As I've said before Lilly always makes statements without giving proof or any logic based argument. The fact is air traffic controllers could just as easily be independent of government. Are they somehow magically only able to exist under the auspices of government?
As for such things as Medicaid and Social Security, YES oh non-thinking one, it is slavery when I am forced to give to others to directly benefit them rather than something mutually beneficial such as military/police, roads, or a legal system.

A note for Tad
Yes, it is true that there was some action on behalf of labor unions back in the early 20th century, and I am thankful for that. But then again, that was almost a century ago, what about now? What about now, when most union action in the UAW is entitling workers of GM and other U.S. manufacturers to make double the salary of a Toyota employee, but not be able to back the salary for all of their workers with either sales, or outright productivity. There was a need back in the early 20th century, but in the decades since then, Unions in the U.S. have gone to the point of caring far more about what each employee is entitled to rather than whether the quality of say U.S. carmakers is effective enough to compete with the output and sales of such foreign-owned businesses as Toyota or Honda. That's the problem, the problem is that they aren't the Unions which we saw during the 1900s, the 1920s, or the 1930s: they've become something very different, something that is evolving into treating people as units of entitlement above concern for whether or not the businesses can compete on the global scale.

Examples of an Executive Order

President George Washington issued the first executive order in the United States in 1789.

It instructed the heads of government departments to make a "clear account" of matters in their departments.

One of the most famous executive orders was the Emancipation Proclamation, issued by Abraham Lincoln in 1863.

It declared freedom for all slaves in the areas then under Confederate control.

"Stroke of the pen. Law of the Land. Kinda cool."
Paul Begala, former Clinton advisor, The New York Times, July 5, 1998

"We've switched the rules of the game. We're not trying to do anything legislatively."
Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt, The Washington Times, June 14, 1999

What is an Executive Order

"Executive orders, in United States law, is an official direction, proclamation, or statement issued by the President.

Executive orders carry the force of law, even though they do not require congressional approval.

The President's power to issue executive orders is an implied power-that is, it is not specifically mentioned in the Constitution of the United States. However, it is considered necessary for effective government.

Executive orders can be controversial because they allow the President to make policy changes while bypassing legislative processes set forth by the Constitution.

Some executive orders have been challenged or overturned by Congress (2/3 majority vote) or by the Supreme court.

These arguments are stupid
Lily is a socialist and most everyone
else here hates all taxes.

Esther from Florida is incredible. 65 and does not benefit from Social Security? Give me a break. If you decide to retire at 70, when SS benefits go up to somehwere in the area of $1,500 a month, SS can keep you alive almost with dignity. Two dinners a week on early retirement SS explains everything, though. If that's how much she spends on dinner, then she's obviously very rich, and not the normal example. And for most people, one serious health issue comes up, and without Medicare you'll be thrown in the poorhouse. Medicare works great and the vast majority
of physicians accept it. It may be overused by some, and extended to illegal aliens, but the program itself remains otherwise sound.

The Fed serves a purpose, and needs some revenue source. If taxation is not the answer, then all that is needed is a better idea. If overspending is the problem, all that is needed is to eliminate waste, corruption and pork programs.

Definition of Slavery
TO ME: the definition of slavery is forcing someone to work so that someone else can live without having to work to support himself.

The slave owners prior to the Civil War, lived nice lives by having slaves who toiled to provide goods (usually crops but not always) that the slave owner could sell for money. Except for making the final sale, the slave owner seldom did much except see that his slaves continued to work.

But with the goverment 'Welfare' system now in place, we taxpayers are forced to work and give up a percentage of our income so that people who refuse to work can sit at home and live without working. They don't get rich at it but that is only because there are so many of them. But under Obama they believe that they will get rich - richer even than the taxpayers who support them.

So what does that make us taxpayers?

so typical make up definitions to suit LOL

"...The slave owners prior to the Civil War, ... the slave owner seldom did much except see that his slaves continued to work..."

Don't forget he frequently mated with them also

"But with the goverment 'Welfare' system now in place, we taxpayers are forced to work and give up a percentage of our income so that people who refuse to work can sit at home and live without working..."

Gosh don't you just despise those lazy infants and old people? You must really hate all those emergency services people and military just sucking up the good life at your expense. I know the day you were born you started building your school and harvesting the crops. What percentage of our taxes goes to "undeserving people" do you think? I mean the most welfare and disability payments the last time I checked went to rural white folks over forty.

"...So what does that make us taxpayers?"

Citizens

Not only are we enslaved . . .
but our GOVERNMENT is violating the FIRST AMENDMENT by its support of GAIA (earth worship). By supporting a religion (GAIA) and its tenets that put the life of a silly fish over the lives of HUMANS, the GOVERNMENT is in violation of the CONSTITUTION.
It's funny sickening how these environMENTALists can elevate the life of an animal ABOVE that of an unborn HUMAN CHILD.
With the "endangered species act" and the control of private property (without compensation) the environMENTALists are contributing a large share of misery and theft that exacerbate the slave conditions that presently exist in this country.
Most people don't know that the modern day eugenics movement started in the good ol' USA with margaret sanger and others.
I would not be surprised to see that most environMENTALists support the modern day equivalent of eugenics (abortion). They are strangely silent when life saving chemicals (DDT) are denied those who need them because of some half-baked idea that "birds might be harmed".
Some sharp legal team should be able to use a first amendment case to derail the environMENTAL movement and expose it for what it is (a religion).
It is time to string up these b@st@rds along with our so-called "leaders".
Let the revolution begin.

I'm Tired
I'm getting tired of saying this. I should just post this somewhere so I can cut and paste every time, but something tells me that I'm just wasing my time.

You see, it's slavery if it's voluntary. We keep electing the Bushes, the Reagans, the Obamas, Cheneys, Pelosis, etc. etc. etc. [bold on] [large on] WE [large off] [bold off] keep electing these people.

YOU CAN'T BLAME IT ON THE GOVERNMENT! WE ELECT THE GOVERNMENT! YOU WANT TO BLAME IT ON CLINTON! THE LEFT WANTS TO BLAME IT ON BUSH! YOU'RE FOOLING YOURSELVES! IT'S YOUR FAULT! WE GOT THROUGH SO MUCH EFFORT, SEARCHING NEAR AND FAR, GETTING UP EARLY AND STAYING OUT 'TILL THE STRADLE OF THE NIGHT TRYING TO FIND SOME WAY TO BLAME IT ON THE OTHER PARTY! THEY'RE BOTH THE SAME! THEY'VE ALL GOT YOU DUPED!

WAKE UP!

People Need Jobs, Not Welfare!
Taxes only grow Government and Poverty. Free goodies are paid for by taxes, which, obviously, create more Government and more poverty. However, politicians have learned that if they promise free goodies, they get elected.

Too bad, for us.

Conservatives, generally, vote for those that offer no freebies. Unfortunately, the voters seem to not understand that freebies add to the cost of living. So, Conservatives lose and Liberals win. So, poverty grows, thereby increasing the need for freebies. And, so on. Sad, very sad.

New laws for Lawmakers

Gingrich ran on a promise of reform with a list of promised the party was supposed to adhere to.

The trouble with promises from congress is that they control the voting. They will not reform themselves because they will lose their power and graft.

IT IS TIME FOR US TO TELL THEM WHAT TO DO.

1. Forget "Republican". How about a Freedom party?

2. Tell them they and we are now fiscal conservatives.

3. Tell them we demand the barest minimum government

4. The absolute least meddling in personal affairs.

5. Let the Heritage foundation find financial advisors plus five approved civilians to find a practical tax system. Then we vote.

5. Acknowledge state's rights in education - no federal involvement.

6. No bowing the UN - accept no laws from the m, or any other country, organization, etc., except our own.

6. No more money for the UN until our own situation is fixed.
