Nathan Parmelee's Biography

Before coming to the Fool, Nathan Parmelee worked for a well-regarded industrial and financial services company on many large projects, and knows firsthand how difficult acquisitions can be for companies. The work was fun and allowed him to see the world -- including close to three years in Japan -- but ultimately, the work was not his passion. He feels much more at ease now that he's free to read 10-Ks and 10-Qs and perform discounted cash flow analysis on companies until the cows come home or he runs out of caffeine.

Nathan grew up in New England as a die-hard Red Sox fan and along the way graduated from the University of Massachusetts -- Amherst with a degree in accounting and information systems. He doesn't, nor did he ever, believe in curses.

Nathan has been writing for the Fool since 2004 and has been a Community member since way back in 1998, when he first read The Motley Fool Investment Guide. The best way to get his attention in the office is to offer him coffee, Coke, pizza, gyoza, or any number of Japanese dishes that begin with yaki. Nathan is also a candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
