Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

After the cultural explosion in America that celebrated this week’s presidential inauguration, could there be any doubt that this would have been the most-watched inaugural ceremony in history?

It wasn’t. Despite Obama pictures in convenience stores, non-stop television coverage on virtually every broadcast and cable-TV network before, during and after the event, and enough hype and hyperbole to make a Madison Avenue ad executive cringe, President Obama’s inauguration was not the highest-rated presidential inauguration in television history.

That honor goes to President Ronald Reagan’s inauguration in 1981 which drew millions more viewers than President Obama’s (41.8 million versus 37.8, according to Nielsen).

Considering the proliferation of the 24-hour all news channels, in addition to the still-powerful broadcast networks, I think this is a pretty remarkable statistic.

Perhaps there aren’t as many Americans as infatuated with the incoming president as the mainstream media would have us believe.

Score another one for The Gipper.

Meanwhile, the Obama Inauguration featured one of the most vicious displays of racism imaginable, another fact barely covered by the liberal, Obama-worshipping news media.

Who could have imagined that President Obama’s long-time pastor, Jeremiah Wright, was actually going to be a part of the ceremony? One would think that after Obama threw Rev. Wright to the curb when his racist rhetoric from the pulpit was revealed to the world, that he wouldn’t be within a hundred miles of Washington, D.C. this past Tuesday.

But he was there, all right.

He just appeared on the presidential podium in the form of Rev. Joseph Lowery.

Lowery is often described as a “civil rights icon.” I’d love to know what’s iconic about enthusiastically slamming Asians and Whites with a crude, racist poem that passed for part of the “benediction” of the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States.

Help us work for that day…when yellow will be mellow…and when white will embrace what is right.

Some icon.

Perhaps more shocking than his assertion that whites have a propensity to embrace what is wrong and that Asians just need to back off and become mellower was the reaction of the people in attendance, including President Obama.

The crowd roared with laughter and approving applause. And Obama just laughed and grinned from ear to ear while excitedly shaking this bitter, angry man’s hand.

President Obama has already demonstrated that he doesn’t necessarily just mug and smile for the cameras when he is disapproving. His gaffe-prone VP, Joe Biden, was at it again this week, cracking a joke about Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts’ flubbing of the inaugural oath in front of Obama and reporters.

The President looked like he was ready to strangle Biden with his bare hands.

So I’ve got to believe that if Obama found fault with a bigoted-laced benediction, he wouldn’t have faked his emotions with phony laughter and a fake smile.

No, he seemed to love it.

Help us work for that day…when yellow will be mellow…and when white will embrace what is right.

Of course, it wasn’t just white Americans who were attacked by this embarrassing display of old-school racism. Consider this email from a USA Today reader named Si Van Nguyen on the USA Today website:

“Rev. Lowery’s benediction…ended on a dastardly note. There are rarely any references made of or about Asians in American politic…we are just not on the radar. But for us to hear the first time a reference about Asians made in an inauguration event speech like that is just wrong. I thought that yellows were already pretty mellow. I guess we need to be more mellow for him and people like him to feel better. I am not insulted, just sad for him and people like him and for Obama (who approved the speech).”

Where are the Asian-American activists, I wonder? Years ago I made some reference on my radio show to the cartoon character, “Pokemon”, and whatever I said resulted in a formal letter of condemnation from one such group in California.

One would think a racist rant at a presidential inauguration might warrant as stern a response as something a radio talk show host said about a cartoon character, huh?

Not when it’s a liberal doing the talking. People on the left get a pass when it comes to condemning white Americans. And now, evidently, it’s open season on Asians, too.

Help us work for that day…when white will embrace what is right.

Hey Rev. Lowery: a whole bunch of white Americans just elected the first black American president. Does that count? Perhaps “that day” has arrived.

And like most professional race-baiters, Joseph Lowery didn’t even notice.

Unfortunately we have seen a continuation of these early warning signals. o is a menace to this country on many levels; He is running roughshod over the desires of the real American public, he continues to walk around internationally with a sign saying "Kick Me", not on his back but instead, directly over his crotch and finally he and his wife are an embarassment in any diplomatic setting, bowing, scrapping, hugging and giving gifts that even my 10 year old grandson would know was inappropriate! Have they, no, have we lost our minds, electing this bozo?

Pretty dissapointing
To end his speech with that... just a bummer.
Paints the culture as Whites Vs. Everyone else. He could have easily addressed some other major issues.
"When a brother will stop killing another"
"Stop committing crime, paid for putting it into rhyme...with a catchy hook someone else wrote...who actually bothered to learn music...and then get a Grammy as a rap songs are now able to run in 35 music categories"

I agree with Lowry
We haven't been doing what's right. If so, we would of come to the defense of our children when forced to endure an entire month of state sponsored racism and villianization every February. They are taught they are racists, monsters, & solely responsible for all AA failures, societal ills and sufferings. And we allowed it. Many injustices have been commited against the white race for no other reason than to appease black hatred and excuse black failures. And we allowed it.

Blacks holding to personal accountablility, embracing freedom & loving their country & its constitution are sent to the slaughter by both AA's and liberal whites. And we allowed that too.

There exists a discrimination aimed directly at conservatives & patriots of EVERY COLOR & RACE. Our government must be told that a month of history celebrating one ethnicity is racist and unequal, and if they insist on its celebration, then its teachings must be consistant with actual history regarding slavery. The WHOLE TRUTH of how slaves made their way to America - by the shackles their own people placed on them. And by adherents of Islam who made the exchange of sale. How the liberal whites purchased them & denied them freedom. How the Conservatives fought & died to SECURE that same freedom.

Our nation must be confronted. ALL discrimination is unacceptable. Therefore you may no longer chastise/punish our children for crimes they never commited. Nor may you any longer attack Blacks who choose freedom & take pride in acheivements made by the content of their character.

Guilty- of Everything
Bad that EVER Happened on the PLANET. Get used to it!! Now that we have an Afro/Indonesian CITIZEN as President, we Whites can learn Swahili, Arabic and Spanish, we're gonna Need these languages, when the Nigerian Scamsters ALL get to come here, and Be Pres-I-Dent. The only reason AAARnold DIDN'T RUN, WAS HIS GERMAN ACCENT GAVE HIM AWAY. Besides the Germans are Kings of Racism, ask anyone!!--Why do you think that the Natives were Dancing in the streets of all African Cities??? when the Chosen One was CHOSEN???. We Americans are all Victims of the Greatest Nigerian Scam in the History of Nigerian Scams. Send your White kids to Agricultural College, to learn how to Pick the Cotton--{beans, tomatoes, sugar beets, citrus fruits etc.} Barky's Affirmative Action Mandate will Insure, [like Lindon Pindling's, 1960's, Nassau, Bahamas, REMEMBER??]that Deserving People Of Color get All the GOOD JOBS.--- Come to think of it, it'll be Just Like Now, only More So!! Wait till Barky's Racist FANGS are Exposed for Real. He'll make Jeremiah, "The Racist BULL-FROG" Wright look like Mr. Rogers

Lowrey
Well, what do you know -- another "light skinned" black person. Perhaps, in his use of racial revisionism, he is really just angry with the fact that (perhaps like Obama, and I suspect Wright) he has white slaveholding ancestors. Sure, it is easy to simply lie and claim that all whites are "guilty" -- but what factual basis does this have? Seriously, before 1870 how many Russians, Poles, Italians, Albanians, Sorbs, Slovenians, Estonians, Latvians, Lemkos or Laps lived in the U.S. and held slaves. The answer for some of these groups might be 0. As people may have noticed, I have had enough of people calling me and my ancestors something that we are not. It is no better than those who lie about German treatment of the Jews -- I am tired of people claiming that I am some kind of oppressor while someone who looks like Obama is not. There is no factual basis for this claim. Not only that, but Obama qualified for all sorts of programs that I did not simply because of what he "looks like." Certainly, some people don't like blacks -- and some people don't like whites -- hence the danger associated with being subject to violent crime if you find yourself in the wrong part of a city.

Why? - 2
I have three quality medical care coverages, a modest, comfortable home with some property, vacation condo, four-year-old, like new car, other possessions, plus two sons – a retired AF F-15E pilot, now consultant, and a lawyer - both making big bucks, a wife of Mexican heritage, two successful grandchildren and a happy dog.
For the relatively recent graduates and present students of our schools, there would be a lot more American Indians had they not suffered displacement and decimation in the development of our nation.
Neither I nor my family members ever accepted racial preference benefits available to us or have ever needed welfare. Yet we, of the smallest American minority except for Pacific Islanders including Hawaiians – claimed birthplace of our current President - have attained the American Dream. It has never occurred to us to pray, “help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right,” or tolerate the laughter that interrupted Lowery’s racist prayer.
We do wonder though why the Lowerys among us wallow in the past and our President invited this to happen on Jan. 20, 2009?

Why?
“Blah blah blah when the red man can get ahead blah blah blah.” – Thinking about this again: 1) What silly, childish, divisive things for a “reverend” to say, 2) at the inauguration of the first African-American President of the U.S., 3) less than 233 years after the nation was established, 4) with a minority of 15% Hispanic/Latino, 13% Black/African-Americans 1% Native Indians including Alaskans.
A descendant of British and the Indians some of them married after coming here in the early 1700s, I do not feel at all behind here in 2009. I am a retired AF officer, college professor, school teacher with a bachelor’s and two master’s degrees, former business owner, now engaged in archaeology and mission work. I am living comfortably and helping others on earned retired pays, Social Security and wise investments. (cont.)

This benediction was atrocious and
should have been roundly condemned by the media! Instead all we heard about were screams from the gay community about Rick Warren being on the agenda! Well, from what I heard, his prayer was, indeed, a prayer...quite the opposite of the supposedly religious ending of the inauguration ceremony! How dare they!

I hope EVERY DARN WHITE LIBERAL who cast a vote for Barack Hussein Obama enjoyed hearing that cute little Amen-invoking rhyme...WHEN whites do what is right! Guess your vote really wasn't worth a tinker's dam after all!

Every morning and Every night and many times inbetween, I beg God to watch over our country! I fear we are DOOMED!

No Class = No Integrity
Lowery's attack on Asians and whites while offering a prayer simply reinforces the fact that friends of Obama generally have no class and even less integrity. "You are known by the company you keep" is an old saying that aptly applies to President Obama. No class - no integrity shows through time and time again. By the way, how many of you reading this forgot to pay your federal taxes and are currently holding the office of Treasurer of the United States?

typical white person
As a typical white person, I have come to believe we should have reparations. That is, those people who had slaveholding ancestors in the U.S. have to get out their check books. Also, for personal reasons, I think that those of English ancestry should have to pay Irish for millions of deaths and 800 years of unfairness.

Ok, President Obama get out your checkbook. Afterall, you have slaveholding white ancestry -- and it is not typical for whites to have this ancestry. Also, since much of your ancestry is English, surely you should pay an additional measure of compensation.

Oh, I almost forgot -- it has nothing to do with history of peoples (such as garlic nosed Italians as Jeremiah Wright would say). Certainly, Jeremiah Wright, whose skin is lighter than some "garlic nosed Italians," has white ancestry -- and perhaps like Obama slaveholding ancestry.

Let's forget about the truth. Let's blame people who allegedly "look" like "opressors." Certainly, Estonians and Slovenians and Sorbs might fit the bill. So what if they had nothing to do with the Atlantic slave trade. They look guilty.

It is funny, but this is the same rationale for pulling over black people who drive nice cars -- they "look guilty."

Both are wrong. However, given that universities and the government are dominated by revisionist history and bigots -- the politically correct racism is much more powerful in this day.

I couldn't agree more.As witnessed by the huge volume of Whites that voted for Obama--race is no longer an issue with the Caucasians of this nation.
It REMAINS a top issue with African Americans right on! The usual reaction to ANYthing that MIGHT be construed as a "hate crime" or "hate speech" is to rob, loot, and vandelize! How does that help create a working solution to the problem?
Anytime 93% of any race will vote for a person who happens to be 1/2 that race (he is also a 1/2 White hybrid--but he'd never have won with that label) that is the height of Racism. If a Caucasian ran for office, and 93% of Caucasians voted for him strictly because he WAS White--wouldn't that be touted as Racism?
I am tired of being sneered at, talked down to, called names--while I'm out there trying to HELP people that have less than I do. I used to "sponsor" a local family at Christmas. (always nearly all HUGE Black families in that program, interestingly) and had already spent a good deal of money for them; and then found their names repeated on FOUR other local lists of needy families! THEY signed up for all these, and they did it repeatedly because they "got more" that way! I immeditely gave all that I'd collected for them to another agency, who helps burned-out families, and took my name off the list.
It's sad but true that most Blacks do this with impunity--most Whites would be castigated if they followed suit...

Obama Expands Hate Crimes Bill
Since President Obama expanded the Hate Crimes Bill does that mean he's going to put Rev. Wright and his racists and militant associates in jail for their racial comments as he wants to put more Christians, Catholics, and Mormons in jail who do or say anything that a gay person would find offensive at taxpayers expense based on this discriminatory and unconstitutional law in my opinion. He couldn't wait to close GITMO and release or move the Islamic terrorists who he believes our military torture which is ridiculous considering that the Islamic terrorists murdered 3,000 Americans on 911 and tortured and beheaded American military and civilians, although to my knowledge, I haven't heard him condemning the Muslim terrorists for their inhumane treatment of Americans nor demanding an apology or demanding that the Islamic terrorists treat Americans with kid gloves, but maybe I'm wrong. He then couldn't wait to expand the killing of millions of unborn babies around the world by torture using abortionists, especially American babies, and especially Black American babies because there are more Black babies aborted than any other race or ethnicity in America which one Black Pastor condemned as "genocide" of Black babies. It's amazing how one sees torture for the enemy as wrong but doesn't see torture for babies who are breathing when their heads are crushed and their limbs torn off one by one as inhumane torture. Well, just like I'm confused about his stating that we're a nation of Christians and Muslims which we were not founded on such a premise, I guess I'll remain just as confused about saving terrorists from any pain while killing babies by torturous methods and all of this insanity to reduce worldwide population is at the cost to the American taxpayers who are out of work. How do any of these executive orders make America a better place or safer place to live and lower tax burdens?

To Lone of Ohio
I wouldn't take it hard if Obama was the most sensational new president, even though I revere Ronald Reagan. The inauguration figures aren't important at all. Yeah; there's a lot of celebrating going on because Obama got his victory. What about it?

Is he capable as a leader of his country? Has he ever brought a country out of danger? Or solved the problems of a faltering economy or a deep recession?

I can tell you he sure hasn't. Now if he's so powerful, let him do it. Or fail.

If he fails I can be understanding. It won't be because he was black, or corrupt, or unprepared. It'll just turn out as God wills.

We'll pay the price; he'll still have a place in history.

Obama's looking pathetic already, IMHO-- Not even waiting a week, he's made abortion a priority. Today grabbing American taxpayers' money to send foreign contries who will spend it killing unborn human beings. Is this necessary?

Only if you're a fiend. There it is; we have our newly elected fiend in the White House. He's not the first one, I know. But he could hardly WAIT to pay for increases in abortion. With our money. Because, obviously he's made promises to other fiends. They won't let Obama off the hook; he was elected to provide funding for hundreds & thousands of new abortions NOW.

The bottom line, America. That's what it means when you sell your soul to the devil.

Keep moving towards the light

LC, I say to you and Roy & all the others of us who are like voices crying out in the wilderness of this Obamanation...don't be weary, nor give in to despair.

The people who continually play the race card know that their hand is getting weaker and weaker as improvements are being made daily in the way people relate to one another in this country, the only country in the world that has the potential for people of all cultures to have the right to pursue their dreams and freedoms.

The anger of people like Lowery, Wright, and others cling to is like a religion to them. There is no need to appease them further.

Simply step over them and leave them to die and wither away by the side of the road like the dinosaurs they have become...and keep moving towards the light...

"Vengance is mine, sayeth the Lord."

You are a lost cause. I know white republicans that disliked McCain and voted for Obama. So, again where are you getting your so called facts? Are you trying to say that all republicans are racists? The democrat party must love having you as one of their lemmings. They don't have to work too hard to get your vote. You will believe anything that they tell you. You must be so proud.

Mikes's BOGUS "OLD LOGIC" Post
====================================

Nielsen being Nielsen, this 38 million DOES NOT include anyone who watched at their office or school. Which is just NUTTY, because the swearing-in happened in the middle of the day, when millions and millions of people are, let's see, at work or at school.

The ratings ALSO DO NOT factor in that newfangled technology unknown in Reagan's time, ONLINE viewing, which was MASSIVE. Viewers watching the inauguration BROKE streaming video traffic RECORDS for CNN.com, FoxNews.com and MSNBC.com.

I think it's really safe to speculate that Obama's swearing-in attracted the largest crowd in our history, BOTH in person and via broadcast.

Perfectly brilliant "LOGIC" though Mike ... NOT!

OBAMA - 1

lowery article
If anyone is interested, I just put up an article about the Lowerty episode at my blog:

http://politicalanimal.today.com/2009/01/23/was-the-benedic tion-given-at-president-obama%E2%80%99s-inauguration-racist /

'Racism'
The word 'Racism' means absolutely nothing to me anymore. That card was played - mostly by the Obama camp - so many times during the Presidential race that it became an 'expected' word, rather than 'accepted'. Sadly, racism does exist in this country, but we all learned this year that it can't be strictly directed at Caucasians anymore.
To Lon: I am white and I am offended. I hope you feel better now. Having spent the past 40 years working with high-risk kids and volunteering my personal money and time to make sure that the American families (who happen to have the same skin color as Reverend Wright) had fully cooked Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas presents. Less than one month ago, when I deliverd said presents, I was met at the door, the presents were wisked out of my arms, and I was asked to leave before their neighbors saw a 'whitey' in the neighborhood. 'You're Welcome', I said, and quickly left. Needless to say, Lon, I won't be returning to that neighborhhod.
Just a few thoughts, Lon. How many 'African' Americans have you seen in your lifetime with an adopted child of a different race? How often do you see 'African' Americans volunteer their time teaching, coaching or just listening to troubled white kids?
Interesting, isn't it? It hurts, Lon. More than you will ever know. Oh, and if you're interested, I'll give you the names and addresses of the families that, after twenty years, will need someone to visit them on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Yes, Mr. Lowery
has suffered discrimination and it is understandable that he needs to push back. How different his prayer was, though, than Jesus' when He said, "Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do."

I do not agree with Barry Dunham, but I thought that, the one true thing that would come from it was that ,Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would go the way of the dinosaur. Then along comes Rev. Lowery. Why was he even there? I'd sooner have heard Reverend Wright.

Pardon any pun but...,nothing is black or white.People are people. They get along.

Keep The Change
Well it is good to disagree. I admire both Obama and Oprah. I am glad that Obama won and I had a great time at the Commander-in-Chief Ball. I'm sure our new president and the most powerful woman in entertainment are upset that they don't have your support. I am also glad that you respect black conservatives, just as I do. The difference is you respect them for standing up to leftist opposition and I respect them for being members of a party in which a large number of the constituents hate black people.

Nope. Wrong. I have read their work and listened to them plenty. They are true believers and they are justified in their thinking, As I said before, the most courageous among us is the conservative black fending off the endless charges like "Uncle Tom" that is the epitome of the bumper sticker left. Easy money is to throw in w/ the guys you mentioned and the New Messiah. I didn't see either of them jump ship. And they won't. You are dead wrong and they are both heroes to me. And Oprah and OBama are zeros. Talented, but intellectual zeroes nonetheless.

Wagner
Unfortunately the events you reference were over a century ago.

Additionally, until 1964 blacks voted 35-40% GOP on average. That year they voted 92% Democrat not due to government cheese, but rather because the Republican nominee, Goldwater, voted against the Civil Rights bill, in contrast to Johnson who was instrumental in its' passage. With Nixon's 'southern strategy' of 1968 this shift was cemented.

I will also remind you that 100% of white Republicans voted for a white candidate. Is this a sign that they voted exclusively on the lines of race?

Bryce1
I could not have said this better. So to quote Mac:
the fact is that minorites, more specifically Blacks chose to belong to the Democratic party.
Ironically it was the Republican party that pushed the Equal rights amendment, ending slavery(remember Lincoln was a Republican)etc.

I would only add that when you see that 98% of the black community voted for Obama, your grievance about diversity should go both ways.

"Leave it to a half-wit like Gallagher to forget about streaming video and the hostage thing."
_____________________________________________

In fairness to "half-wit" Gallagher, he only reported the Nielsen rating results, which put the viewership of Reagan's inauguration at 4 million more TV viewers than watched The Messiah's.

Your passive-aggression should be directed at Nielsen, rather than the "half-wit" who simply reported the results of their information.

Dollface
I will remind you as well that the last time there were black Republicans on Capitol Hill it was a direct result of Ken Mehlmum making minority outreach a priority.

Sadly, Mehlmum's efforts were not embraced by the party at large. Instead they advocated the approach adopted by many today that any discussion of race was inherently racist.

The result, no minority outreach, and hence, little to no minority representation.

We watched the inauguration
on streaming video on line. My kids did too. Lots of folks did. Is that tallied? Did Nielsen include cable? My son's girlfriend watched on her I-phone. What about the thousands who watched in public places on one feed? Get a grip Gallagher. Reagan would have voted for Obama, as I am certain Mrs. Reagan did. She never did forgive McCain for cheating on wife number 1 with wife number 2.

And people watched in 1981 because of the hostage crisis. Word was that they were being released that day.

Leave it to a half-wit like Gallagher to forget about streaming video and the hostage thing.

Origin of "Rev." Lowery's remarks

"Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around ... when yellow will be mellow ... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen."--"Rev." Joseph Lowery at the Inauguration of Pres. Barack Hussein Obama

"Rev." Lowery's remark was an attempt to make a play on an old 1960s street-jive limmerick often heard in pre-black pride era black neighborhoods, to wit:

"If you're black, get back;
If you're brown, stick around;
If you're yellow, you're always mellow."

This original use of the limmerick was used by blacks in regards to other blacks to emphasize our own xenophobia about those of us whose skin color was darker than the other guy's skin color.

In other words, the less black you were, the better you were...this from black people, aimed at denigrating other black people who were darker than they were.

As I was one of the ones who happened to be of the blacker skin color, it was meant to be a snide remark, aimed at making people like me feel inferior and less attractive than my more fairer skinned brethren.

It was merely a way in which we insulted each other, similar to "playing-the-dozens."

"Reverend" Lowery's use of it was, he seemed to think, a clever way of making a bad joke to include all races of Americans.

Wagner: How wrong you are...

Black get back...Zero black Republicans on the Hill

Brown get down...3 Republican Hispanics, all Cuban from the Florida exile community, hardly represntative of the demographic.

Yellow is mellow...Of late yes, 2 Asian Republicans recently sworn in.

White is alright...Overwhelmingly so in the GOP to the point of near exclusion.

The fact is that every day Congress is in session the GOP practices what Rev. Lowery preaches.

Cactushead !

Anne lives by South Valley Rd. I'm right nearby.Remember The Swimmin' Quarry The Music Fair Tent,Merkins Boot Repair ?

What else do you remember ?

bryce1
You said facts don't lie. But you didn't give any facts. What numbers are you referring to? Do you mean your perception? That isn't fact. You want racism to exist so you can act like the hero and stand up for injustice. What you are doing is the opposite. You are making sure that racism exists. Most people want a colorless society. You want to make sure that it never happens.

cactushead
No it's been pretty bad in the poorer parts of Philly. Olde City, Center City, South Philly are excellent places to go. It's only getting better. The new mayor is much better than the previous one.

reagan
ahh, the gipper. "ketchup is a vegetable". i'll never forget that.

Tim
so you don't know what a school is.
Does the concept of halfway escape you?
It's simple. There is a known distance between say Chester Harrah's and the mainline Y.
Divide that by two and we will meet there.
You only have till 8am tomorrow to figure that out.

You're a silly man Tim. But you are amusing.
You're probably not as bad as I think.

Lowery's "Prayer"...more of the same
"Reverend" Lowery seems to have succeeded in provoking just the kind of reaction he wanted.

[Democrat politicians have proven they are masters of race-baiting and keeping the sceptre of racial division in the forefront of American life].

No one should be surprised that Obama thoroughly enjoyed another racist rant, in the guise of prayer.

LION HEART - OK

Your last post to me makes sense and is more even handed. Yes, there are racist remarks being made here. I think some people need to let off steam now. Some white Americans also need to hear a positive expression for their efforts in desegregation in this country. When white Americans offer their hands in friendship or the voting booths, they don't enjoy getting the middle finger back to them.

WillIEEEE LOPEZ Alias Baci /Wrightsrong

Keep comin' !

so I guess those reports about the high murder and crime rates in philly are just lies printed in the media

"To TxGal and Lionhart
I have to take back every bad thing I ever said about Texas. You guys rock."

TX is a very conservative state, but I'm still seeing some Obama/Biden bumper stickers around.

Lionheart -- I've been reading these posts off and on all day (when I could sneak it at work), and you've made some excellent points. These kinds of articles always bring out the racists.

Cactushead
I meet my friends downtown a lot.
You can still ride a train downtown and still get back alive.

wrightsrong 69 / Willie Lopez !

Just come up to the next Blue Route Exit and turn West on Route 30.

cactushead
the difficulty is with just about everything you say.

like;
"But it seems that blacks are just that stupid they fully buy into the dims mantra and the messages from the race hustlers that repubs are racists."

All Blacks are stupid? Is that what you are saying?

tim in pa
it seems I find more in common with other posters as the days go by. As I kid I lived in paoli.

But that was in the days when you could ride the train downtown to visit the franklin inst. and not have to worry about making it home alive

Turned Off
I must admit after that riduculous assault on the order of pray, I turned to TV off. I am not going to adore the empty suit Obama, or the black victim "cause". My forefathers did not hold slaves nor excuse those that did. Africa still trades in slaves. Where is the outcry over that? I don't care what color skin Obama has or has not. Personally I believe he is more Arab than black and more white than her wants to acknowledge. Still, I don't care. I don't want this country turned socialist.

He swore to uphold and defend the constitution of the United States. He had best read it and find out what he signed on to. Evidently he thinks he signed on to defend and rearrange his own version of what he thinks the constitution ought to be. This is a sad day for America.

wrightswrong
if you need help replying I suggest you reread your first grade primers featuring dick, jane and spot, That seems to be the level of your reading comprehension

Keep the Change
You hurt my feelings (LOL). Anyway you no nothing about me. You respond to my post, but not all of these clowns spewing hate about black people. I really don't care what you think about me and the fact still remains that a large part of the GOP constituency is racists rednecks. I am in the military, and many of my friends and commrades are republican. One of my republican buddies once asked me why blacks support the DNC overwelmingly. I told him to read a townhall article that has anything to do with race and then read some of the comments. He read Ann Coulter's article about Kwaanza and many of the comments of your fellow conservatives and came back to me and said he was outraged by Coulter's article and many comments. He then said he understood why blacks don't support the GOP, although he believes that their policies are better for the country. These black conservatives that make you "well up with pride" are not different then Jackson, Sharpton and company. The only difference is that they cash in on white resentment instead of black victimhood and white guilt.

Carlos, you said
"I'm betting most of the violent Racists (i.e. Skin Heads) are products of single-mother households. (Single-mother households are the place where most violent criminals come from)

And if that is the case - shouldn't racism (particularly with violence) be better defined as a result of excessive Liberalism?"

Either you are young and inexperienced or not well informed of the dynamics surrounding single parenthood. Main point, you cannot use a broad brush to paint a select group.

The home environment, social connections (church, community organizations, etc.), role models (or lack thereof), neighborhood influences, and a multitude of other factors play a part in the molding of a young mind.

To respond directly to your post, a particular political ideology has basically no influence on how a child turns out. If you have information to the contrary, lets talk about it.

Tubbs
You may be new here but your schtick is old.

The problem you have Tubbs is...,you are esoterically challenged. You are all about the material. You have bought off on the exoteric.

I do not even understand your post #143 except that, you are just like the people in the inaugral crowd who listened to the Rev. Lowery and thought it was great.Grow up! When white gets it right? Blasphemous!

We were inaugerating a black president.
What was his point?

You are just as much a racist as those people from long ago who donned white hoods and burned crosses on black people's lawns.

I do not know how old you are. I will just assume that you are young enough to have reaped the rewards of people old enough to have suffered. You did not suffer.Your material braggadocio is something they would not understand.

You see Tubbs, they suffered unspeakable injustice, they never stopped loving their country.

Tim
How about we meet halfway! See you at the route 3 exit of the Blue Route. 8am! I'm guessing you'll be with the DUI folks picking up trash. (don't let em throw you out before I get there, tho!)

Wrightsrong Willie Boy !

Meet me at The Upper Mainline "Y" tomorrow mornin' 8 AM Sharp.

Jimbo
Because he's not a racist nazi (why do you capitalize the word nazi anyway?).

I don't have any idea why he praised Ararfat.
But it wasn't because Arafat killed 21 schoolchildren. You don't believe the Rev was in favor of that do you?

dreadnaught !

Are you back again after all that stalkin' BrianR for so long.

You're safe way out there in Colliefornia until it becomes part of Mexico again in the next few years.

You wanted Illegal Invaders, you got em , Head Case !

Racism by what measure Carlos?
Again, on the proposition that race is no longer an impediment to aspiration, the Dems have walked the walk, while the GOP continues to talk the talk.

By the way, shall we revisit your argument during the campaign that due to the animus between blacks and Hispanics, Hispanics would never vote for Obama in large numbers?

It seems their view of the world was not quite as narrow as yours.

Tim
are you calling me "boy" because you think I'm black?
You'll never get it. Dead from the shoulders up.

Meet me at Harrah's in Chester Pa. tonight if you want to talk.

wrightsrong52
Not exactly an eloquent reply. If he's not a racist Nazi, why did he praise Arafat, the murderer of 21 schoolchildren at Maalot and the architect of the Olympic massacre?
Nazi Lowery clearly believes that Jewish blood is dirt cheap.

Cactushead
Look at the words you are using. I don't know where to start. I'll try another day. Have a good day.

Liberal race baiters
I just love all the self-righteous liberal responses on this site. We conservatives love your stereotypical view that we are all racist. The stars aligned for this election, so now you guys have all the answers. Reagan was 10 times the man Obama is. Anyone who thinks the socialist policies of the past can work today is an absolute fool. Obama is not stupid, so he uses these policies to gain the support of the masses during a down economy. There is no doubt this is going to harm America, possibly irreparably, for the next 4 years.

Whether it's in 4 years or 8 years, the liberals' world is going to come crashing down. We are still a center right country and once we convince the hard working Hispanic Americans that they are better off with true conservatism, we are going to kick the loser socialists' a--es out of power.

Nah ! I Don't Got It,Boy !

Let's see Ya make me get it 1

as long as blacks seem to need the artificial designation as african- americans and can't see themselves as just americans. As long as blacks demand that preferences are made based on race for hirings and school admittance and as long as blacks continue to fail to take advantage of making something of themselves in the land of opportunity they are admitting they are not americans but rather some group that must be taken care of.

The simple truth is that as long as any group sees itself as a victim they will always remain a victim.

Life and success are both a hard job that requires years of work to achieve. Exactly why should society be thrilled with the dims and their enabling of black failures.

But it seems that blacks are just that stupid they fully buy into the dims mantra and the messages from the race hustlers that repubs are racists.

I submit the only racist people in this country are those with the power to commit such acts. And that power resides in the govt.

But we have now seen several generations of blacks who have been told their entire lives repubs are racist to the point it is so ingrained that I doubt it can ever be overcome.

The dims enable black failure to keep up a voting block that keeps them in office. If the day ever comes when blacks stop blindly supporting the dims, they cease to exist as a political party and the dims fully understand this so they maintain their racism by telling blacks without us you can't achieve

That was jaust another blanket indictment by another ignoramus leftist troll. That was inflammatory and stereotypical to the worst degree. You are obviously full of yourself and a huge fan of Brokaw, Rather and all of the other leftwing, hack journalists that have you brainwashed.

The post just before yours @ 4:59 by dreadnaught is highly indicative of mostconservaive thought here (at least until a troll tries to jam the race card or some other leftist fabrication down our throats)

When I hear conservative blacks like Dr Sowell and Dr Williams decry that crap on Limbaughs show, I well up with pride for blacks that refuse to believe in government. Conservative blacks are the most courageous and most discriminated group of people in America. They get more grief than Limbaugh AND Ann Coulter.

Race is convenient for the left but honesty is always left out. Abortion is really the black holocaust and only a liberal that has been spoon fed the media's leftist viewpoint could argue against that. Grow up like Dreadnaught before you bring that filth here.

Just to make sure, I went back and re-read both posts. I would love to have dinner with Dreadnaught. I'd love to have Walter Williams bend Bigfred's ear for 2 hours because he is so pathetic, he cannot even see how innappropriate that accusation was. What an idiot. I keep adding to my list the trolls to dismiss and those with input that I value so I will read more. These 2 were prime examples.

The Problem with "Racism"...

The Liberals spit out the "Charge" of Racism faster than a Vulcan Cannon.

But the "Cause" of Racism is the larger issue.

I'm betting most of the violent Racists (i.e. Skin Heads) are products of single-mother households. (Single-mother households are the place where most violent criminals come from)

And if that is the case - shouldn't racism (particularly with violence) be better defined as a result of excessive Liberalism?

Unfortunately Maria
The offending words of Reverend Lowery are confirmed by the GOP every day that Congress is in session.

Jen says
"I think that we as a nation, should no longer be subjected to hearing cries of racism now that we have a man that is not only black, but is just as much white as he is black."

This was actually after she said. "Who the hell does Rev. Lowery think helped vote a mullato man into the position of presidency?"

Jen look up the words you're using!

Sissy boy Tim
I'm really scared. Got it bugger boy!

"When white will embrace what is right"?
Rev. Joseph Lowery, an 87-year-old civil rights pioneer ended his inaugural prayer with the following, "... we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get back, when brown can stick around – when yellow will be mellow – when the red man can get ahead, man – and when white will embrace what is right." And they all said amen, with a smile.

What!?! "When white will embrace what is right"? Who the hell does Rev. Lowery think helped vote a mullato man into the position of presidency? I think that we as a nation, should no longer be subjected to hearing cries of racism now that we have a man that is not only black, but is just as much white as he is black. My, how soon people forget!

With that said I will draw this to an end--for now-- with the following comment found on the "Blonde Sagacity" blog: "I think the only people who see Obama's color are black people. I don't give a rat's a$$ if he's red, yellow, brown, black, white or any combination. racism exists because it's promoted by those who want to identify themselves by race alone."

And I'll say (in Jesus' name) AMEN to that!

Wrightsrong 69 !
I'm a southpaw counter puncher and you wouldn't finish your first swing ,if you had the stupidity to try anything.

Got it,Boy !

Tim

Dreadnaught
I don't agree with much of what you said.
Except for what you said about Tim. Common ground!

Tx Gal

I agree with it in its entirety.
Excellent post.

dreadnaught !

Cupcake Smoke Blowers like Wrightsrong 69'er are a dime a dozen.

His mouth is writin' checks that he can't cash.

Lowery's benediction
I found the reverend's benediction to be out-of-date. While maybe appropriate 20, 30 or 50 years ago, it was not appropriate on the inaugaration day of the 1st black president. It was as if they woke him from a 50 year coma, and he just repeated the last thing he had said before the coma. I am white and offended by Lowery. I could never vote for Obama because of his politics, but I could vote for Indian-American Bobby Jindal or Michael Steele. Would that make me white embracing what is right? Furthermore, I think that Lowery is basically the elderly equivalent of Little Jeezy. (Bad, lame poetry back then;obscene lyrics now. Seriously, if my 3rd grader had written that poem he recited, I would have made her re-write one saying you can do better than that). Obama and his followers have been nothing but disrespectful to George Bush. I have been gritting my teeth watching him be so gracious and always taking the high road, then seeing Obama constantly taking verbal jabs at him even during his speech. Bush turns the other cheek; Obama is a bully. Obama could have nipped the chants and gestures of the disrespectful crowd in the bud by insisting on a website or something on appropriate behaviour. Instead it seems as though he takes a perverse pleasure in the negative treatment of Bush. Your day will come too, Barry, only don't call it rascism because you got to be prez!

To TxGal and Lionhart
I have to take back every bad thing I ever said about Texas. You guys rock.

Wagner
You can demonize me, but it doesn't change the facts on the ground which are these...

On the proposition that race is no longer an impediment to aspiration, the Dems have walked the walk, while the GOP continues to talk the talk. Most of which, here anyway, revolves around calling anyone who doesn't pretend that race is now immaterial is the racist.

Facts don't lie.

Tiny Tim
Hey pal if you hit me and I find out about there's gonna be hell to pay little man.

You couldn't box your way out of a wet paper bag!

Cactushead says
" Frankly america is tired of paying for the continued failure of your people."

Who are you referring to as "your people"?
Other fellow American citizens?
Are you saying that America is a failure?

Something about Tim in PA
Don't worry about the clown. Tim is so low in IQ we all know his heroes are Beavis & Butthead, and he eats long boogers out of his schnozz. A simpleton.

wrightsrong69

Why don't you and Flubbs come over to my gym and you can threaten me there and I could give you boxing lessons ,while we discuss whatever you'd like to discuss ?

Jimbo said
If Lowery praises him, why don't I have the right to call him an anti-Semitic black Nazi?

Because he's not!

Racism
If you look how offended some of the people here are because Rev. Lowery said white should do what's right, think how he felt back when he couldn't drink from the same water fountain as white people. Does that make what he said right? NO! He should not have said it. I wish he hadn't. But, you know, I think I'll get over it okay. It does not make me believe that all blacks are racists, as some here obviously do.

As far as who is more racist, conservatives or liberals, Republicans or Democrats, Blacks or Whites.... I don't know. But I just have to say that when I hear racist/bigoted/prejudice statements from people I know, most of them come from those who are more conservative. Doesn't mean anything. I'm just sayin'......

Buck
Why did you assume I was black?
You don't know my race and quite frankly it doesn't really matter. Most people would be offended by some of your comments "You can put a tuxedo on a monkey....but its still a monkey!!" what's that supposed to mean?

Lion Eyes !

We got Senator Jim DeMint from South Carolina, Congressman Mike Pence from Indiana, Governor Bobby Jindal from Louisiana,Governor Mark Sanford from South Carolina and Governor Sarah Palin from Alaska for starters.

Watch and Learn Lion Boy !

dubbs,
you suffer from this fantasy that I give a rats rear end about any aspect of your life. Anyone can cite superficial things to prove they are somebody.

But you are a loser, you feel the need to impress others with your life. I don't have such a need. If I chose to I could lay out my life as well but for what purpose. You would dismiss my life as readily as I dismiss yours.

But being the superficial fool you are you miss the point of these discussions. Frankly america is tired of paying for the continued failure of your people.

We see the slums in every city with majority black populations, we read the test scores and the high illiteracy rates and the high black on black crime rates and wonder why after 40 plus years of johnson's great society and some $45 trillion spent why hasn't there been more progress.

But it is your pals in the dim party, the race hustlers like jackson, sharpton, farrakhan, bond, wright and now lowery that constantly tell blacks repbus are racists who stand in the way of you taking charge of your life.

If these dims are so concerned and caring why do they maintain a plantation mentality that tells blacks they can only achieve with the guidance of the dim party.

The truth is repubs celebrate success and understand society is made better when everyone is better educated and contributes. Why would anyone need to feel good that others fail. But that is exactly what the dims do and the continue to enable failure. And still losers like you cling to a party of racists as if they are your only lifeline

Reba
I had no problem with having a dialogue about what Rev Lowery said and its implications. I expected that to occur. Lowery is not a racist but his attempt at displaying his pride for the occasion was not properly handled.

My problem here on TH are with the yahoos who used this particular instance to print every negative thought they had about black people as a whole. These negative diatribes have nothing at all to do with Lowery and his statement. That's what racists do.

My My
It is sure enough a relief to peruse these threads now that Obama has united the country and racism is all in the past.

Tim
Why don't you take a ride down to DC and meet Mr. Tubbs and his family? Not that far a ride from PA. I'll ride with you. Discuss your concerns with them face to face.

Otherwise stick it loser!

Hey wrightsrong52
How long do you plan to use that lame excuse about how much "pain" your poor people endured? A true man of God has learned to forgive and go forward. A garbage spewing animal enjoys stirring the pot.

Excuses are the tools of the lame my friend. Maybe if you start cleaning up your own back yard others won't have to do it for you!!

The remarks wright made open him up to as much crap as the whites and asians can throw at him. How come you can't see that. Do you believe that only blacks are sensitive to racial remarks? Or maybe that only whites should be punished for being racially insenseitive?

It's the single minded view you all have that prevents you from having any credibility at all.

When black racism is as disgusting to you as is white racism, you'll be heard. Until then, keep wearing the ridiculous clothes and stay high.....fool

Tiny Tim
When are you leaving?
Good Riddance.

wrightsrong52
You imply that's it's near blasphemy to call Lowery a black Nazi. Isn't it accurate?
In 1979, Lowlife Lowery visited the Middle East and gave an award to dictator Moammar Qaddafi and lavished praise on murderer Yassir Arafat. In case you don't know, in 1974, Arafat's PLO savages took over a school in Maalot, lined up 21 schoolkids against a wall and mowed them down with Kalashnikovs.
Arafat was a Jew-hating Arab Nazi. If Lowery praises him, why don't I have the right to call him an anti-Semitic black Nazi? If the schoolkids at Maalot had been black, would Lowery have lavished praise on Arafat?

wrightsrong69

Yeah,We all wanna be black too.

We can all go to Europe to get a reverse Michael Jackson Unbleach Job.

We can collagen shots too.

Oh Boy !

To Bryce1
You are so compassionate to racists. How kind of you. Black people make up about 12% of the population, but try and watch a commercial without a black person in it. They dominate in most sports and whine when they aren't represented. It is people like you that make race part of the requirement for getting a job. People like you are the real racists.

Lionheart and Tubbs
Don't waste your time with these rednecks. They are already convinced that blacks are sub-human and incapable of being productive members of society. They don't believe that blacks are capable of anything positive. These people need an organization they can believe in. That organization is the GOP.

dear tubbs

we understand your belligerence; it's OK.

I do know plenty about black Americans, I'm 71 years old.

I recall at age 21, a guy who advised me to apply for the Teamster's union telling me we had to "keep the nigggers out." Turned my damn stomach. I also knew a Klansman in San Diego back then.

I loathe all racism. Here in TH, one of my constant rants is against white supremacists who denigrate poor Mexicans on the pretext of saving America from illegal immigrant "invasion."

I see many terrific exemplars over many years: I love opera; Leontyne Price was tops; I listen to Kathleen Battle; one of my favorite actors was Sidney Poitier, now Denzell. I was a Flip Wilson fan; but I hate Chris Rock on account of his obscene language. I find Oprah a bore; the most banal black lady in the world.

So, you see. Actions make me admire individuals. OR; detest some of them, as in Obama. I also readily admit many white people are beneath contempt, such as the Clintons, whom blacks love so much. Go figure.

Can't abide with dishonest politicians. (Look around you.) And, sorry to say, I find people like Diddy and other morons who got rich rapping to be totally repulsive!

BUT, being a good Catholic; I rejoice in the fact our Church numbers many black cardinals and bishops, as well as other clergy. My fervent wish is that all black Americans would someday split those ridiculous meetin' houses of their past and enter the Catholic Church. Why? Because I'm certain God loves every single one, --even Oprah.

Hard to believe some of the racist here isn't it? You're their worst nightmare; a successful black man with twice the brains of all of them combined.

Sure the Rev Lowery could have used better words. He's seen a lot in his life.
When Rev Lowery was born, the klan ran Indiana.
And they call him a black nazi!

And they are wondering why they lost the elections.

believe whatever you like
If it makes you feel better then just keep telling yourself that it can't be true. Keep reciting the same tired tropes about Blacks that you've been repeating for the last 40 or more years. We're passing you by. If you want to close your eyes and hope that it's not true, that's fine.

Dreadnaught: I grew up in DC. I currently live on capital hill and I do not live in fear, so I don't pack a gun or cower when I see Black people. I know trouble when I see it and act accordingly.

cactushead and dreadnaught: I'm proud of all my accomplishments but I only remind others of them when someone makes ignorant comments about me or the state of affairs in the Black community.

cactushead: you wish I was a loser. I know you do. If I were a loser it would make your simple-minded world view seem truthful. But the fact of the matter is that I'm successful and educated (and my wife thinks I'm hot!) You ignorantly bray about Blacks preying on each other, but my reality is this:

My mother has a Master's degree. My father has a Ph.D. My sister is working on her law degree. Of my best friends that I grew up with who happen to be Black: 3 are MD's, myself and another are attorneys and another is an engineer. You're barking up the wrong tree if you're looking for a loser.

We don't sit around blaming whites for anything. We're usually busy talking about the political issues of the day or work or sports or food or friends or family.

You don't know anything about Black people, but please continue to show off your ignorance. As i said before, you are certainly good for a few laughs.

Hey Tim
Tubbs must have his so-called practice in Fantasy Land.

What a clown!!

racist prayer at inaugural
Reverend Lowery's racist "poem" should neither have been recited nor approved for the inauguration. It was the same as if a white person had gotten up and said, "Let us pray that black people now do something about their high crime rate." It was blatantly inappropriate.

That was very well done. Thanks for the effort.

The Lowery thing is deeply troubling because OBummer was nodding his approval throughout and thus endorsed-and endorses every word.

Robert Reich has also said that the stimulus spending orgy should leave out high skilled and white construction workers.

Despite the fact that discrimination based on race in the federal government is ILLEGAL, it is flat out wrong and liberals are too dishonest to point it out and it will be left to talk radio to point it out to the masses that this will be the MOST DISCRIMINATORY set of government policies to ever be pushed and passed because dear folks, Mr Obama is a bigot.

Flubbs !

You must not have clients,if you're posting here and BS'ing about your fantasy success.

Caught Loserheart?
You sounded awfully defensive there Loserheart. After implying (maybe not saying directly) that civil rights leaders faced the worst oppression in human history, you beat a hasty retreat. I'll grant you that fighters for civil rights probably experienced the greatest amount of physical and mental violence in contemporary America (mostly in Democrat-controlled areas), but how does that justify the Crown Heights pogrom in Brooklyn, the murder of Yankel Rosenbaum (murdered by black Nazis shouting "Heil Hitler! Kill the Jew!"), and the racist anti-Korean boycott in the early 1990s in NYC? Likewise, I note that you never addressed my question about evil Lowery's praise of terrorist murderer Yassir Arafat. Can you tell us why a "civil rights leader" who weeped for the four girls murdered by evil racist bombers would shower praise on a Jew-hating Arab Nazi who had Olympic athletes murdered in Munich in 1972 and schoolkids murdered at Maalot in 1974?
Please enlighten us ignorant conservatives Mr. Wise Liberal. Tell us. Were you aware that Lowery had given an award to Qaddafi and had praised murderer Arafat?

Hey Tubbs
If you were as successful as you think you are; you'd be practicing law (or chasing ambulances) instead of reading this msg board....go write a rhyme

tubbs
Why do you have a car built by Germans? Aren't they some of the worst racists?

Dear Joy in TN
So you disagree with me?

I explained what I think; Rev just isn't too swift, many otherwise good folks are big mouths short on brains.

You just don't take such people seriously. Obama, it's true-- is arguably lax about these things. We know why. He has associated with hard-line haters.

LION HEART AND RONALD

LION HEART - I give up debating with you, you look at the negatives in the human hearts here. If we give you lemons you would make sour grapes, not lemonade.

RONALD- EXCELLENT POST, "Will they ever let us be united?" As a woman in the business world I have experienced discrimination, but I am not going about degrading men, just stood up for myself and moved on. As an American living and working abroad I experienced discrimination for being an American, moved on past it by trying to be a better American.

It takes effort from both sides to be united. Will this take another 50 years?

so, tubbs--tell me

I do respect you, my friend; you represent all that's excellent about the African American people.

But; practicing in DC? I just wonder. You pack a gun? I'd expect you to, in case of problems you might meet around not-so-cool parts of town?

Black-on-Black Beastly Attack, I mean. Get down, Baby-- and I mean on the pavement. Has your Audi been stolen or keyed yet? (I know you eat filets; that's great! Congratulations!)

dubbs,
so I guess you are just your typical loser leftist, citing your achievements as if they are supposed to impress. But like all selfish lefties you talk of enjoying the good life while you condemn america because your own people live in squalor thanks to their devotion to the dims who keep them on the plantation of entitlement.

But you are just another loser like the missus hatred, nee obama, who thinks that black accomplishment is always more noteworthy than what others can accomplish.

But bragging about being a parasite lawyer is nothing to be proud of. But you still have loser written across you head, you enable victims and make excuses to explain away black failure.

But my first guess is that like your messiah you needed to go the affirmative action route to get into college. You may impress the other lefties you pal around with but only fools show up and try to impress others with their lives

Lion's Breath !

So,you admit that The Rev Lowery is a lowdown Scoundral racist bigot, who is no better than Nazi Stormtroopers.

I think that we have agreed on Lowery here, then.

I do not hate you
I have never opposed diversity. Every time I've observed a black conservative trying to rise up, the main stream media deamonizes him or her. I've observed that it is liberals who are keeping conservative blacks from becoming a significant part of the dialog. I welcome a conservative of any race, color, creed, ethnicity, or background. I did not oppose President Obama because he is black, but because he is a liberal.

Alert.....sdf, somewhere in Al.
This person is a "cultist" someone who is bidding his/her time until Hale-Bopp reappears in 4530. He/she has glomned onto the "messiah" and he/she hopes it will be the ride that he/she missed when Hale-Bopp was here last in 97'. He/she fully expects that mortgage payments are a thing of the past and that the "one" will pay for fill-ups, "gas is free, gas is free, obambi is president, gas is free, thank G-D almighty, gas is free, at last"!!

Tinman Tim
To me, a low down scoundrel racist bigot is the same as a Nazi Storm Trooper.

No difference in how they think, just lived in different countries.

Shame on Race-baiters
This was racism, pure and simple. The truth is that, while everyone carries a misconceived guilt towards blacks for the wrongs done in the past, unfortunately the blacks to this day want to "stand up" to the white man, encouraged by race baiters like Jeremiah Wright and Joseph Lowery. There is already widespread resentment that Obama supporters continue to blame any criticism of his ideologies as being racially motivated. As one who lived through the racial tensions of the turbulent 1960s, I pray that we do not see a return to that insanity.

Racism
is not a white thing. It is a sin thing. All have sined and fall short of the glory of God. Contrary to black liberation theology, Jesus did not come to save black man from white man. He died to save all men. As the white race becomes the minority race in the USA, I do not expect racism to go away. I expect there will continue to be racists from all of the races.

Inauguration as a whole
Unfortunately, this deification/coronation of an "African-American" (oops, what happened to the 50% of him that was white?) was not so much about All American Equality as about African-American Ascendancy. The prayer was just the icing on the cake.

More to it than even that,
in a Rasmussen poll taken Oct.2, of last year, 59% of the respondents agreed with RONALDUS MAXIMUS'S sentiment that, "government is not the solution; government is the problem", and only 28% disagreed. But the amassing part of the survey was the fact that by a margin of 44% to 40%, people who were obambi voters agreed as well!! Another Rasmussen survey taken after the election, found that 55% of voters believed that tax cuts are good for the economy. Only 19% disagreed. It also found that obambi's tax cutting promise was his clearest policy position. He took a RONALDUS MAXIMUS'S electoral strategy, take one big idea and repeat it until the people identify you with that idea. Heading into the election, 31% of voters thought that obambi would cut their taxes, and only 11% thought McCain would. In other words, people believed that obambi was more like RONALDUS MAXIMUS than was McCain!! The election of B. Hussein Obambi was a victory for the left, hardly.

LionFart !

That's Comparing Nazis to Americans.

That's like a Bus callin' a Banana Yellow.

Stick You're Distortionist Comparisons !

dubbs
another comment from a black victim. So tell us loser how much longer before you barbarians quit preying on each other. I guess from you we can hear a litany of excuses why blacks can't stop killing each other, why you can't read or write and why being an absentee daddy and calling your women ho's is something to be admired.

But not to worry your messiah has promised to punish the whites with higher taxes so he can reward losers like you with more handouts.

lying Jimster
First of all, no where in either of my posts did I state that Lowery should be excused for what he said.

Secondly, never did I say that Lowery's experience in confronting racists was akin to that of "Stalinist terror, the GULAG, Pol Pot, or the Maoist Cultural Revolution" or to any other group of people. However, I could have said that at no time in America has any other group of people experienced that level of physical and mental abuse as the fighters for civil rights (blacks and whites).

What I said was that the level of hate perpetrated by racist bigots during that era reached the magnitude of hate shown by Hitler's Germany to the Jews.

Get your facts straight before attempting to criticize someone.

Dear Dreadnaught
It is being blown out of proportion only if you aren't one of the white or yellow folk.

I found it disgusting and insulting. I found Obama smiling gleefully through it all to be scarry as all hell.

Our new President who once spoke that there was no white America or Black america but only one America now thinks it's OK to trash white folk at the inagural? and tell the yellow folk who have contributed so much to advancing this country to -- what -- slow down? -- be less productive? I'm not sure what he meant but it didn't sound good.

If you ask me, the proportion of attention to Obama's reaction to this, isn't nearly great enough.

The Left IS Hate
None of this suprises me. The political left in this country is virtually founded on hate, envy and intolerance. The further one is to the left on the political spectrum the more they are venomous, biggoted, and filled with hate for anyone who wanders so much as an iota from their intolerant dogma. Read our resident trolls. Read history. Dems are the part of slavery. The party of segregation and the party that has, as a foundational principle, the destruction of the black family. Liberals NEED and WANT "minorities" to be poor and angry. That's precisely why they spend so much time, effort and money keeping them that way. Conservatives insist that all men are created equal and must rise or fall on their own merit. Liberals insist on racial set-asides and affirmative action. The left is hate. It has been since at least Marx ... so what's new(s) here?

And the conservatives
still don't understand the internet. Not surprising. Everyone had the inauguration streaming in my office. Many people retreated to the break room to watch it on television. We had a party afterward. A couple of my friends had taken the day off to have house parties...you know where 30 people watch the screen at the same time. However, no one expects conservatives to understand the internet or parties.
My city has a whole new feel to it, and a real sense of togetherness. I've never seen anything like this.

To Loserheart of Texas
"You cons have no idea of what Lowery went through," says Loserheart of Texas. Are you telling us that Lowery experienced worse things than those who experienced Stalinist terror, the GULAG, Pol Pot, or the Maoist Cultural Revolution? Many of those who experienced Stalinist and Maoist terror became human rights activists without becoming vile hatemongers like Lowery. Likewise, why did racist Lowery give an award to Qaddafi and praise Arafat in 1979, the same Arafat responsible for the murder of 21 schoolchildren at Maalot in 1974? Did any of those Jewish schoolchildren call Lowery a nig- or beat a civil rights marcher?
However, you will defend Lowery for one reason only-because he's black. There's a word to describe that attitude. It's called racist.

This guy is your hero??
"President Reagan worked diligently to stomp it [racism]out wherever it existed."

Reagan is portrayed by right wing enthusiasts as the man who re-shaped America. Viewed as a great communicator, he was merely a cheerleader whose style pumped up America's majority. At least Obama is attempting to be president for all Americans and not a select group. Through all of Reagan's talk, below is what he really believed:

http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Ronald_Reagan

"The president was so cut off from the counsel of black Americans that he sometimes did not even realize when he was offending them. One example occurred when Reagan sided with Bob Jones University in a lawsuit to obtain federal tax exemptions that had been denied by the IRS. The IRS denied tax exemptions to segregated private schools. Many of them were schools such as Bob Jones University, which enrolled a handful of minority students but prohibited interracial dating and marriage.

Reagan would later say that the case had never been presented to him as a civil rights issue. More astonishingly, he did not even know that many Christian schools practiced segregation."

"Reagan never supported the use of federal power to provide blacks with civil rights. He opposed the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965. Reagan said in 1980 that the Voting Rights Act had been “humiliating to the South.”

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=195370 0&columnId=1929301
"After he defeated President Carter, a native Southerner, Reagan led an administration that seemed to cater to Southerners still angry over the passage of the Civil Rights Act after 16 years. The Reagan team condemned busing for school integration, opposed affirmative action and even threatened to veto a proposed extension of the Voting Rights Act (the sequel to the 1964 Civil Rights Act passed a year later and focused on election participation).
__

And this is your hero?

say, lion heart; chill baby

Didn't I just tell you that some folks are abysmally ignorant, and can't he'p it?

BTW; I didn't watch any part of the coonation on my TV. Is it true Aretha Franklyn sang a lovely rendition of,

Mammy's li'l baby loves shortnin', shortnin'
Mammy's li'l baby loves shortnin' bread."--???

Thanks for letting us know you have the ability to read minds for not anywhere in my post did I mention that whites just need to get over what Lowrey said.

If you read the post with understanding, I tried to give you insight as to why Lowery felt compelled to make such a statement (comes from an old blues song) but admitted that it was not the proper venue to say what he said.

Oh yeah, I did mention that a few TH posters used this statement to voice their negativity felt toward African Americans as a race and not just to voice their disappointment about Lowery's statement. That's what racists do.

There is a difference, you know.

Right On Mr. Gallagher
Of British heritage and the Indians some of them married after coming here in the early 1700s I was offended especially by Lowery’s racist remarks “red …” and “when white will embrace what is right.” Lowery comes across as an arrogant, ignorant and hateful Black Supremacist tarring Obama with his triad of prejudice – arrogance, ignorance and hatefulness – on Obama’s big day – a great day for the U.S. also. Indeed Lowery is only another Jeremiah Wright.
Will they ever get over their racism, overcome their ignorance of the fact that they are not the only natives – “reds” - of this land and immigrants – “yellows, blacks, whites” and other skin tones who suffered so much in the now distant past to make and be part of the great nation that the United States of America has been and is striving continually to improve? Will they ever let us be United? Will they ever unite with us as loyal Americans in support of Obama? Will they ever do as he asked in his inaugural speech, “put away childish things?”
The burden is on them. I await their arising to the challenge.

Reba, your fellow Texans wrote
This what Patrick from Tx posted:

"America turned off Obama corination and watched everything else. President Obama represent drug dealers, crack users, homosexuals, Africans, Muslims, whites, mixed raced families, childern of whores, marxist, whore mongers, adulters, liberals, race baiters and welfare advocates."

This is what Katz from Tx posted:

"The blacks may believe that they 'built the nation' thus they have the whip hand, however rational people know this is not true. This is evidenced by the fact that they are incapable of slapping a coat of paint on their shacks, removing the trash from their yards, escaping from rising water, speaking English, existing without welfare payments, and pulling their pants up."

I'll quit right here. Two racist bigots is enough.

Class Warfare Redefined
It used to be that class warfare or envy had everything to do with economic class. Now it's redefined in that war has been declared on class and decorum. What happened the other day was shameful from the taunting of President Bush to the tasteless "benediction".

For the record, I've been a Conservative my entire life, shamelessly so. One thing I detest is racism and discrimination. President Reagan worked diligently to stomp it out wherever it existed. President Obama endorses racism and discrimination.

We are headed in the wrong direction starting with the election of a man with no sense of decency. If he had any decency, character and courage - he'd have rebuked those people taunting President Bush.

Leadership descends from character and President Obama is bereft of both character and class.

For the braindead drone Lon of PA
Lowery experienced "actual racism" so what he said is OK for Obama drone Lon. Hmm...So would Lon defend Hitler because, unlike FDR, Hitler experienced "actual combat" or "actual war"? Somehow I doubt it.
Incidentally, Lowery showed what an evil hate-consumed racist he is in either 1979 or 1980 when he and other racist "civil rights leaders" gave an award to dictator Moammar Qaddafi and praised terrorist murderer Yassir Arafat, whose savages murdered 21 Israeli schoolchildren at Maalot in 1974. So please tell us apologist for evil racist Lowery Lon: what kind of person condemns the killing of four black schoolgirls with a bomb in Birmingham but praises the terrorist responsible for the murder of 21 Jewish schoolchildren? Is that terrorist massacre "understandable" because they were shot at point blank range with Kalashnikovs or is it because they were Jews?
By all means, tell us.

Racist and Stupid!
That's quite a combination:

the original (and aptly named) cactushead said

"how can the dims favorite minority and full time victim group understand your posting. With illiteracy rates approaching 70% amongst inner city blacks the can't read or comprehend much of anything"

Maybe you should spell check your posts before you talk about anyone else's literacy Einstein.

buckskin
how can the dims favorite minority and full time victim group understand your posting. With illiteracy rates approaching 70% amongst inner city blacks the can't read or comprehend much of anything

Perhaps that explains why the rev jackson, the racist lowery and other other race hustlers always use rhymes.

That works teaching 4 year olds so it should work amongst those who are clueless about the written word.

Dear TX Lionheart

You are partly right in your assessments, and partly indifferent to the truth.

I believe there is a logical reason behind Rev. Lowry's oratorical blunder. It's not a racist bent; just a tradition widespread in the Africa American community. Heap scorn on Whitey in the guise of "speaking out."

But, despite his being touted as an icon, what this Rev lacks is intelligence. Did he march with Dr. King? Yeah, and he suffered the daily assaults on his dignity as a black person. So did many good white marchers "in
solidarity" with him.

But; on inauguration day, he didn't expound on freedom (Thank God, I'm free at last!) He bandied words out of his unimpressive, limited mental capacity. (Not all of us are bright, neither blacks nor whites.) Some are even more than dumb, as misfortune would have it. This is a good man who remembers the past, who loves his new president; yet has faulty intelligence.

I won't comment on the thrill it gave Obama. He's light years more intelligent than the reverend. Maybe he just got a kick out of the "prayer." We'll cut him slack, because IMHO, this is no scandal. It's being blown out of proportion.

Vampire's Reflection
Interesting that you chose the word "smoked". I take it you are aware that your guy engages in the incredibly stupid practice of smoking, an act of self-hate if ever there was one. And, since most male smokers become impotent in their 40s due to the destruction of the pudendal arteries (Viagra won't work on this type), Michelle's sour demeanor is easily understood. She is a typical sexually frustrated wife.

The Gloves are OFF!! PC is gone..finall
Thanks 0bama and your ghetto-raised venom spewing hateful friends Wright and Lowrey. Imus was thrown away for calling black females nappy headed bithches (descriptions you use daily). When that happened you clowns were falling out of the trees with indignity. But your friends pure racist venom is applauded at a national ceremony of the highest honor.

Well I have a few words of advice for you and your no-class followers.

Stop crying about slavery and stay in school. You might learn something and be able to contribute to the society that paid your mothers welfare.

Stop getting knocked up at 15 and stay in school. You might be able to support your illegitimate children at a higher standard.

Stay off the drugs. You might be able to recognize everything that has been done for you.

This is for all of you that are so gently dancing around the issue of lowrey, wright, jackson, sharpton et all. They don't want equlity...THEY WANT REVENGE. They are incapable of softening or changing. Smarten up and stop pretending the hate spewed by these animals doe not exist. Try to remember the last time you heard a black apologize for or refute the words of these hate mongers.

It's later than you think.

Why is politcal incorrectness only punishable for whites!

LionFart !

Tell Lowery ,"Get Over It,Pops ! "

Why is it, Revrend Lowry
That I can write
Spick,
Mick,
Kike,
Wop,
Chink,
Jap
and
Kraut
and they get printed. But if I write
Ni gg er.
I get censored?

LionHeart
See, your statement rings fault, or at least he premise. Essentially you said, yeah it was a wrong minded statement, but get over it.

The problem is that when the tables are turned and someone, say, Don Imus, makes a stupid comment. They get fired and are subjected to having to apologize endlessly etc etc. I am NO fan of Don Imus, but I recognize the rampant double standard that is pervasive.

So, in this case it is just someone who is in his 80's and comes from a different time. But if we are expected to ACTUALLY move on and not just talk about it. It has to be bi-directional. Otherwise it just festers.

Americans
Wake Up!!! Obama is a racist and anti-American. what a bunch of slavish idiots we have become.

LION HEART
"I see all of my fellow Texan racists are out in droves." is hardly a fair statement. I am a fellow Texan who has fought against racism of any sort, sometimes with members of my family. I was involved in the civil rights movement in the 1960's. Five years ago I challenged my employer for the way a black employee was being treated and was willing to leave a good management position if there was no change. Glad to say I stayed. So please don't commit the same judgement that Rev Lowry did by stating "when white will get it right". Most people posting here are saying that reverse discrimination is rearing it's ugly head in a vile way when they do not descriminate against blacks.

I beg the question to quote you with one word changed, "Does that give you racist biggots the right to denigrate all white Americans because of Rev Lowry's statement?"

Vampire's Reflection
Did you happen to take into account that almost no one had internet access in 1981? Don't you think millions of Americans would have watched Reagan via the internet if the internet was as ubiquitious back then as it is now? TVs are also everywhere now (universities, airports, schools, public places, etc.) and they were mostly only in households back in 81. Gallagher is measuring apples to apples. You aren't.

Lionheart
When are blacks going to stop living in the past? Millions of whites have just elected a black president of the USA... it's time to open your eyes and shut the hell up.

Luddite or Liar
Given that anyone who is even remotely aware of what's going on with YouTube and political coverage on the Internet would not have left out the Internet viewers, then that makes Gallagher either a Luddite or a Liar?

Which is it I wonder.

I'm guessing Gallagher did his Nielson ratings research using the Internet can surely had to have noticed that millions that watched via the Internet.

So, I'm going with Liar.

All the same thing.

Christians will be substituted for Jews.

Mark my words. It is coming.

I will not worry though, because Jesus is coming too.

I see my fellow Texan
racists have come out in droves. I hope none of you live in the Metroplex.

Bryce1 hit the nail on the head when he said;

"As I said in an earlier post, I found Lowery's words jarring, and I understand the offense many feel, I really do. However, as someone who grew up surrounded by members of Lowery's generation who fled the segregated south to settle here in Michigan, I also understand the scarred psyche of Reverend Lowery."

You cons have no idea of what this man went through with MLK in the struggle for equality against a wall of hate that could only be matched by Hitler's Germany. Was it appropriate what he said? Not at the venue where it was presented. But does that give you racist bigots the right to denigrate all African Americans because of Rev. Lowery's statement?

Read through this thread and there are much more terrible racist statements made here whose coarseness far exceeds that of Lowery's.

Obama's silence speaks volumes
The fact that he remained silent about Lowery's clearly racist remarks, the boos, or even Wright's "dehumanizing capitalism" comments the day before, topped off by entertainers like Jay-Z who shouted to a crowd, "No more white lies, my President is black," in my opinion, shows where Obama's heart and soul is. He continues to foster a culture of hate. Funny how racism and hate is okay if it comes from the left.

Wow. Some change.

Posts 1-91

And here all along, I thought the idea Obama was advancing was we are on epeople , one nation. Instead, Lowery's remarks were in bad taste.

But hear this poster's and hear this well....Wrights remarks are what BLACK AMERICA feels, thinks and actually embraces. His rhetoric, content and message is not just spoken on his pulpit, but many many others. We non-people of color better understand, the liberals elected him to assuage their guilt, the blacks voted for him because he was one of them and the conservatives played into everyone's hands..because they allowed a non-conservative....to represent them....There are still huge questions about this chosen one, and no body cares to address them..because its racist. Of course it is not, but MSM and the liberals will play the card until they make this country something it should not be, was not created to be and our children will look back in horror at this terrible decision.

Mike
People no longer are required to watch TV live, but can DVR, watch the YouTube version, or watch the event live on the Internet.

By all accounts Obama smoked Reagan by millions.

DVR, internet streams
More than quadrupling its previous record of 5.3 million streams set on election day last November, CNN served 25 million live video streams between 6 am and 6 pm, with its audience peaking at 1.3 million concurrent users just prior to Obama's address, according to a Los Angeles Times report. The LA Times also reported that MSNBC supplied 14 million video streams by 1 pm, and Fox News 5 million by 5:30 pm.

Oops. Obama smoked Reagan when Internet streams are taken into account.

Proving once again, there are lies, d**n lies, and Republican statistics.

DDL and Aegis Dumb (Posts 8 and 10)
Reagan's inauguration had 4 million more television viewers and the country had approximately 80 million fewer people in 1981 than in 2009. Obama came in 2nd by a country mile based on the ratio of viewers to American citizens. Think a little before you post...please.

Obama and the offensive
Some One above mentioned we should vote on the mert of a candidate. True. For months I was looking for anything Obama had done. NOTHING! Now when I say that I am a racist. Not true. I was awed by Colin Powell, until just recently, was in love with Condoleza Rice, and admired Bush for putting moe minority's in high positions then the Clinton's (0).
Obama scares me, within 24 hours he needed a do over for his "Big" moment. stopped trial proceedings for all those MUSLIM Terroists being held at Gitmo, and made his wife wear that horrible dress to Inaugeration. Shame on you Obama.
When you had press conference and read off two Presidental orders, when asked you couldn't tell us what wass in them. Bush might not have been able to either, but at least he never asked for a "DO OVER" .

Tubbs check out Lynne's post
They reflect how the right sees 'modern' blacks, and go a long way towards validating your post.

To #36 comment:
I agree that the vast majority of the "modern" generation of Blacks in this country DO NOT do any of the things that you said they avoided.
Unfortunately--the people that MY generation grew up with--that are Black--are all dying. The obituaries are filled with Black people--good people who mowed their lawns, kept up their homes, went to Church to worship the Lord, and fit in just fine and worked side by side with their White neighbors. (For MANY years longer than the "modern" Blacks have any idea existed, since the world began with them)
I have another word for the new Blacks--those that exist on Welfare or claim disability in order to have a steady income, then work "under the table", that have been raised by their dispairing Grandmothers (my generation) who can't convince them that White people aren't out to get them, that love to get in fights, run each other down, and scream hate words at each other--but will not tolerate questioning or requests to calm down from even Police without flipping out.
I tend to call the "modern" generation of Blacks what they mostly call each other. REAL Blacks are mostly already dead...

None
I absolutely understand your outrage, and as I stated earlier Lowery's remarks were inappropriate and uncalled for.

However, this broad brush characterization of all liberals as racist and race baiting based on the words of one man irks me.

It especially irks me because the words spoken on one day by the one Democrat actually reflect what the GOP practices every day on Capitol Hill.

Think of those words:

Black get back...Zero black Republicans on Capitol Hill.

Brown get down...3 Latinos, all Floridians from the Cuban exile community, hardly representative of the larger Hispanic demograghic.

Yellow is mellow...Apparently, the two Asian Republicans on Capitol Hill were just sworn in this month.

White is alright...The overwhelming face of the GOP on Capitol Hill.

Bottom line, what really matters is actions not words. The makeup of Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill is a stark repudiation of Lowery's words, while the makeup of Republicans is actually a confirmation of them.

the not so secret secret?
You should go out and talk to some black people. In my experience, I hear little discussion among black people regarding preferences/affirmative action. Do Blacks support affirmative action? Yes. Are Blacks voting on that solely (or even primarily), not really.

Most black people view the GOP and it's members as openly hostile to them, so they cast their votes with the people that don't go out of their way to appear hostile.

Try this experiment: ask a Black person if they would vote Republican if republicans supported affirmative action: I can almost guarantee to you that their answer will still be no.

I miss the Gipper
Ronald Reagan was so popular because of his reminding us the message of America: Power is the people's.

Reagan, unlike Obama, didn't pit American against American. Reagan reminded us that this country was unique among all others because THE PEOPLE were in power, not a government. Government is the enemy to freedom, not our fellow citizens.

irony
I have lived in 3 countries and traveled through 10. In all my experiences, I have never found a group that is as racist as the American blacks, and that includes racism against themselves. So, I am sadly dissapointed, but not altogether surprised, that Obama continues to surround himself with racist people and racist remarks. He has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is truly a black American in every way. It is truly tragic that the one black man to finally make it to the post of President of the USA cannot tell people that skin color doesn not matter, only ambition and hard work brings success.
