Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

There is a number of ways to describe how it feels to sit a few feet from the leader of the free world in the Oval Office at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in an informal, free-wheeling meeting with the President.

Overwhelming. Surreal. Amazing. Educational. Inspirational.

Most of all, one is consumed with a feeling of incredible gratitude that this privilege and opportunity has been extended.

I suppose the only thing more thrilling than spending an hour and fifteen minutes with a handful of my talk radio colleagues in the Oval Office this week for a combination on-the-record/off-the-record visit with the President is that it was the second time I’ve been fortunate enough to be invited to such a meeting.

Much has been written about the history of that office and building, but for me, this was a time to listen and watch and observe and speak with the man who has been in the center of one of the most tumultuous eight-year periods in our nations’ existence.

The first time I left the White House after a similar meeting, I remember talking to my friend Sean Hannity about how different things would be if President Bush’s enemies and critics could be exposed to him in the same setting.

No where is the bumbling, fumbling, absent-minded frat boy. The idea that Bush is somehow disconnected and dense is a complete and utter fabrication, a narrative told by people with an agenda, or individuals who think they have him figured out and yet are positively clueless.

Oliver Stone might think he’s a guy who chews with his mouth open and yells at the hired help, but the George W. Bush I’ve spent nearly three hours with is a warm, funny, smart, engaged, compassionate, patriotic, decent and honorable man.

In both of our meetings, roughly three years apart, the President continually hammered home the point that he simply was not going to allow another terror attack on American soil to happen on his watch after 9/11. It consumed him. He spent mornings, noons and nights plotting, studying, worrying and figuring ways to keep Americans from being slaughtered at the hands of radical Islamists.

And when the history books are written, generations will be reminded that he succeeded.

We covered a variety of topics during this visit. And I had made a personal promise to ask the President about border patrol agents Ramos and Compean, two men who are rotting in jail because they shot a confirmed, filthy drug smuggler in the butt at the border and evidently, made some procedural mistakes after the shooting occurred.

Our government went into Mexico, where the wounded criminal fled, and brought him back to our country giving him free medical care, cash money, and a promise of immunity as long as he would testify against these two border patrol agents.

He did. And they were convicted of covering up the shooting. They were marched off to prison, sentenced for many years. The drug smuggler, free as a bird, went on to smuggle more drugs across our border and continue to break the law, leaving the feds with a ton of egg on their faces.

For millions of Americans, the continued incarceration of Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos is a grim reminder of everything that has gone wrong with border security. And there is a fervent prayer in America that these men will have their sentences commuted by this good and decent man, George W. Bush.

For someone like me who has such admiration for a man like Bush, it took all I could muster to likely break protocols and procedures and ask him about this issue.

But I did.

I cannot tell you what the President said. I’ll respect the rules of that off-the-record conversation.

But it’s safe to say that the President is totally aware of their case. And at least one big-mouthed talk radio host named Gallagher bugged him about it during one of the final interviews of his presidency.

I’m hoping the President commutes their sentences. But whatever happens, I will nonetheless be forever grateful for the determined leadership the man gave his country.

As noted British historian Andrew Roberts noted this week, history will show that this was a good president, a man whose decisions and direction kept this country safe after 9/11.

And I look forward to the day when I can tell my granddaughter, Lily Denise, all about my visits with George W. Bush.

Mike
By chance I heard on the radio yesterday your spoof of Larry and Obama. I tried not to laugh out loud in the car, but in the end--I couldn't help myself! This was talent. Oscar-winning talent. Seriously, it was very funny.

But I still enjoy the kool-aid and I love Obama!

(p.s. Our new prez likes talent--don't be too surprised. If you are not careful, you will be invited again, and soon, to the White House!)

The Difference
The Difference is that President Bush GOT IT! He KNEW that we were and are in a FIGHT TO THE DEATH and that in such a fight, THERE ARE NO RULES! You can argue whether how we got ACTIONABLE Intel was torture until Rosie O’Donnell comes home. The fact remains Al Qaeda was SHATTERED and America was kept safe! Thank You President Bush and may you have a long, safe, healthy, retirement.

Georgetwin
Shattered AQ? Hardly. Even according to the CIA and Pentagon, Bush foreign policy has resulted in a mushrooming of AQ from a collection of interconnected cells to a worldwide franchise.

Shame Shame Georgetwin
"...in a FIGHT TO THE DEATH...THERE ARE NO RULES"

You should be waterboarded for that type of talk (if it were legal). Don't you know that it was all America's and George Bush's fault. We should go into all war's with a mindset to 'Tie'. That way, there are no winners or losers and everyone is happy.

GOD BLESS GEORGE BUSH.

GOD BLESS THE SLIGHTLY LESS THAN 50% OF THE POPULATION STILL WILLING TO FIGHT FOR THEIR COUNTRY.

Let me slap Mike Gallagher

Come here Mike and let me slap you.

Did you go to the Chris Mathews school of Journalism?

Hey Mike, Elected Officials are public servants. They are not Gods, They are not worthy of worship. They are sent to do the peoples bidding. Would you worship the guy who cuts your grass or the mechanic who fixes your car? Come down off your cloud. They are only human beings. In most cases they are not even principled human beings. They pull down their pants to go to the bathroom the same as you and me.

If an elected Official does a good job, praise them, complement them, thank them, but for God's sake don't worship them.

Two Points1
1) George W Bush and his administration have explained to us, many times, that his increase of presidential power was made in response to 9-11 and was done in the interest of protecting this country. In fact, Cheney stated to the press immediately after the 2000 Inauguration, "We believe that in recent years the power of the Executive Branch has been eroded and we intend to change that". And change that they did, starting well before 9-11. When the Vice-President writes legislative policy behind closed doors with business executives and lobbyists, goes to court to keep from revealing the names of those individuals, and goes duck-hunting with the judge on the case a week before a (favorable) judgment is rendered, the people may well question whether they are seeing democracy at work.

2) At the beginning of Bush II Term I, The Heritage Foundation wrote Bush a letter advising him to fill federal job spots with political loyalists, putting that loyalty ahead of competence, expertise, and experience. Bush followed their advice. That would be, for the purpose of enhancing his own political power---not for serving the needs of the nation and its people. We have now seen many examples of what happens when an unqualified idealogue is given a job he doesn't know how to do and has no interest in doing. Examples: a) Young college-student Republicans sent to Iraq to rebuild a nation, they knew not how; b) DOJ lawyers not interested in enforcing the law and using their position to punish political dissidence; c) an executive from the Arabian Horse Association put in charge of FEMA.

George W Bush and his administration have done much more than wage war in the Middle East: they have subverted democracy.

Farewell to a loser!!!
Worst in my lifetime.

Bruce...
Do you forget the 1998 attacks on the U.S. Embassies, which are U.S. soil? These were successful from the lack of retaliation for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Clinton was the terrorists best friend since Jimmy Carter.

Bush has done a terrific job keeping America safe in a time where our enemies have wanted to hurt us even more.

Congratulations!
Bush did his job on 2919 of 2920 days! Almost as successful as every other president in the history of the US. Well done! He did a nice job and his praise is well-deserved.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go praise my gardener for cutting my grass, my accountant for doing my taxes, and waiter for bring me my food. Jobs well done all around!

OBama deserve no praise
Democrats and liberals are complaining about praising the undeserving, start with Barrack Obama. The World Trade Center was attacked in 1993, when was it repaired? Could it have been the Clinton administratiobn not giving acare about all the people working in the World Trade Center after the foundation damage because of the days of closure for such repairs.
President Bush kept all liberals safe even President Clinton whom mess he had to clean-up. I say thank-you to a great American and wish him the best. Let Clinton continue to have his bimbo of the hour. Let President Obama destroy the country in the name of social justice and the 70% tax rate as all other countries with universal health care.

Three wishes
If I could have three wishes about the Bush Presidency, they would be:

1. I wish he would have curtailed stupid spending

2. I wish he had shown more support to gun-owners.

3. I wish he would have spoken to the people more, like Ronald Reagan.

lily
Get a grip. One of Bush's early mistakes was keeping to many hold-overs from Clinton that had no loyalty to the President, and did everything they could to destroy his presidency. What enterprise would YOU run where your adversaries got to choose who worked for you?

please stop
The only one on this site who has been honest is Chapman. Bush considered the Constitution as a nice bit of advice, but not something binding. Anyone seen Thomas Jefferson around?

tired of spin
Please give it up guys. All this constant talk of keeping America safe with no proof. If you are a true American you will put the Constitution before a man. Congress declares war not the President, and it is for our Common Defense, which makes Afghanistan legal but Iraq not, especially as Bush Sr. had no Constitutional merit in going in the first time. Too many of sound just like liberals with your extra-Constitutional arguments of the "good" done. My foundation as a conservative is the Constitution and that is what I will use to judge any aspect of the Federal government.

farewell, W

I concur with Gallagher; Bush was a great American and better leader than most.

I don't agree he ought to get Ramos & Compean out of prison. They were thugs in our employ, and sentenced fairly. Was the guy they shot in the back a bad Mexican drug-runner? He sure was.

Far as we know he is a husband and father in Mexico as well. When Ramos and his deputy fired 15 rounds at this fleeing felon's back (OK, he was wounded in the @ss) they intended to kill him. No one has the right to kill a man like that. They didn't manage to kill him, but they tried. Then they destoyed evidence and submitted a false report of the incident, covering their @sses.

So they're in the pen --for THAT. Not, as some insist, for "doing their job."

Ah Gallagher
Only a red headed goofus like Mike Gallagher could say Bush was a leader. Keep talking Mike, you're converting more and more people to liberalism daily. We have a real leader now.

President Bush's leadership ...
gave us a Democratic Congress and President Obama. 'Nough said.

those disappointed in Bush...

those disappointed in Bush...
... CERTAINLY need not be liberal... I voted for him 2x, but holding my nose the last time... talk about the perceived lesser evil!

Much that he did wrong was just OK with the left-- Rx Care for seniors, NCLB, botching S.S. reform, never using the veto to stanch 'Crat largesse-- the latter because he had to buy support for his profligate war of choice in Iraq against the wrong bad Islamics.

All of this was anathema to true fiscal and limited govt. conservatives --> he grew government and increased its intrusion in our lives, he spent like a drunken sailor 'Crat, and he failed to live up to his most basic oath to defend and protects the border of the U.S.

The latter over time may do the most egregious and irreparable harm... Presidente Jorge was OK with a path to citizenship for 12 million ILLEGAL aliens-- the ObaMessiah will likely assure it. [Amnesty John McCain promises to work for it again-- screw you America!] This will mean 60-100 million new mainly poor, and largely ignorant, Hispanic citizens within 20 years per the highly respected Heritage Foundation calculation:

http://www.heritage.org/Research/Immigration/wm1076.cfm

Free Ramos & Compean

The only reason why drug pushing and smuggling is not a capital crime here is because politicians are afraid one of their kids may get caught up in drug trafficing. We ask border patrol officers to man the border in an imperfect world and expect them to act perfectly everytime. That is just wrong.

Ramos & Compean were doing their job. They were attacked by the Drug Smuggler first. The Drug smuggler brought this event upon himself.

If they broke a few laws and regulations along the way, then perhaps we should review those laws and regulations so law enforcement is not put in a position where its dammed if you do and dammed if you don't.

Putting Law Enforcement in "no win" situations means nobody wins. I want our prisons full of violent offenders not people who make one bad decision.

who is jorge?

Nobody we know. Orkle says:

"a path to citizenship for 12 million ILLEGAL aliens-- the ObaMessiah will likely assure it. [Amnesty John McCain promises to work for it again-- This will mean 60-100 million new mainly poor, and largely ignorant, Hispanic citizens within 20 years per the highly respected Heritage Foundation calculation."

Yipeee! That's a great solution to most of our border problems. We'll go ahead with this plan-- a good one;

and clamp down on our borders with a new, technologically sound system of checkpoints. Because it's through those gates that a larger number of illegals gains entry every year, not over fences.

As to Oryuckles alarm about 60 millions from the south, we can calm down. He forgets they'll no longer live here illegally. (Nothing wrong with that; they'll be taxpayers.)

"We have now seen many examples of what happens when an unqualified idealogue is given a job he doesn't know how to do and has no interest in doing."

And starting on Jan. 20, we're going to see another BIG one.

Concerning Ramos and Compean
1) Pardon them.
2) Give them their back pay from their arrest to present.
3a) Put them back on the job (if they'll take it)...
3b) ...after some intensive marksmanship lessons.

Thank you
Thank you for sharing and reminding us all of the good and decent, brave man that President Bush is. Also Thank you for taking the case of Ramos and Compean to him. Let's pray he does just that!

A moment to re-group and say…

“Thanks Sully”

I fly alot. Sure you’re all aware of the plane crash yesterday. It made me think how much, either for reasons of fun, boredom, rage, frustration, community or even loneliness, we occasionally come here to jeer, cheer, bite, b-tch, moan, praise or even shout at one another -- all the while making sure we wear our ideological and political allegiances on our sleeve.

Well, yesterday, any one of us could have been sitting next to one another on US 1549. And I’d like to think (in fact I’d bet my life) that despite all the BS that goes on here, if any one of us could have possibly helped one another by holding a child, extending a hand, sharing a blanket, jumping in the water or just helping keep the calm while we all walked out onto that wing, we’d do it without question.

In the end, this “Con” v. “Lib” stuff is mere entertainment. Most vitally, our human spirit is what we share -- and for Sully’s reminder of that yesterday, I am grateful.

Robert, NM - How Old Are You?
Farewell to a loser!!!
Worst in my lifetime.

I am old enough to remember the lines around gas stations, 21% interest rates and 12% unemployment of Jimmy Carter.

If you think that GWB is a loser, just wait until another Jimmy starts cracking corn.

How do you say FAREWELL in ....
Spanish...?

Great article, Mike
and good luck to President George Bush.

Perhaps not.
While we ARE indebted to this President for helping to ensure that another terrorist attack like that of 9/11 was not repeated on American soil, he oversaw a crippling increase in (non-discretionary) federal spending, ballooned the federal deficit, cracked the door for America to become a Socialistic country or worse (government control of the banking system works for Cuba) and turned a "blind eye" to border security. America LOOK OUT!

to Wm in Ca
You hit the nail on the head....being kept safe is everything. If we had another terrible terrorist attack, all the Bush bashing would be moot!
May Pres and Mrs Bush have many more terrorist-free years ahead.

Morning, Lilly
Haven't seen you for a while.

Your points are generally very weak, and most of what you describe is actually not much different than what other Presidents/administrations have done, except I trust that W and his people are not as corrupt as say, Clinton's sycophants. I must admit prejudice in favor of the VP as he was my Congressman for years and I really respect his wisdom and conservatism.

I know you REALLY hate Cheney, but unlike yourself, I understand why the participants in his little forum need to be anonymous. Who would be willing to confer with any administration knowing anything and everything would become public knowledge. I notice someone (Emanuel?) may have already been taken to the woodshed for leaking out of the audacious "Office of the President Elect."

According to Dick Morris (another of your favorites, I'm sure), Clinton told him in no uncertain terms, NOT to tell Emanuel or Stephanopolous ANTHING, because they were such blabbermouths.

I do agree with you about "Brownie" - what a putz! But that's what happens when a friend of a friend of a friend is recommended for a gubmint position they aren't qualified for. I'm sure Obama will his share of incompetents foisted on his regime, also.

Farewell
Osama bid Laden is alive. The economy is dead.

THAT is W's farewell.

Farewell to a leader
Bush said he "did the best he could". He also said that of his experience at Yale. In a video I saw of him addressing a graduating class at Yale, he said, "To all you C students out there, I just want you to know, you, too, can become president". How pathetic. That's how he served the presidency, like a C student. I will never forgive the Republican Party for putting that Texas fool in the White House for 8 years. They almost succeeded a second time by trying to slip Sarah Palin in at the last second in hopes that this gimmick would put them over the top again.
What disdain for the American voter! All the Republicans have ever want is to win...at any cost.
I have also never understood the hippocracy they stand for: They claim to be God fearing, Christians on Sunday, then on Monday, Cheat, Steal, worship money, and bomb and kill anyone in their way. How sad.

Pet Goat, Lily
In a couple days, you guys are in. Time to shift from offense to defending your chosen one and his crew of retreads. Looks like he intends to make massive spending moves against AGW. Get that defense ready. Looks like he's going to increase debt at a rate that makes Bush look actually fiscally responsible. The stimulus package is really pork, corruption can be expected to burgeon. Get ready the usual suspects of "You guys do it too, only worse. You guys left a mess. Tough times call for drastic measures". In short, all the points that you denied in defense of Bush will be at the core of your defense of the oncoming debacle. I'm glad its Obama in there. I didn't vote for him, or McCain, i voted for the man i thought would be best for the country. But if one of those #@@^%*'s had to win, best it be Obama. At least there is a small chance of leftist policy being examined in light of harsh reality.

Robert...
your life ain't over yet... welcome to obamanation!

Ty GWB!!!

Oracle 1 poor misguided
When will you people stop spreading the lie that the reason we went to war in Iraq was because of 911! Bush stated many times that that wasn't the reason. Stop your stupid insanity. All demos/liberals are just getting more and more "mein kampf"! Hope ya'll enjoy BHO as he tears down this wonderful country.

BUSH WAS A LEADER?

.....MIKE ...

.....Maybe you are thinking of the Democrats ...They couldn't have elected a better leader ...Bush led them to majorities in both Houses and to a President that is to the left of FDR ...

.....He led the Country into Socialism and the Republicans into obscurity ...maybe he was a nice guy but a leader? ...please! .....COLOSSUS

Border Agents
Thank you Mr. Gallagher for speaking to President Bush about the two border agents.

Jim L., Harrisburg, PA

God, I can't stand Bush...or Gallagher
I just can't believe there are still hold-outs like Gallagher who think Bush is such a great guy. For crying out loud, he is more left than the left. How much has the federal govt. grown since he has been in office? I am an educator, and No Child Left Behind has made education so much sorse (with the exception of the Highly Qualified portion of the law). That law alone is soooo anti-conservative. How does an idiot like Gallagher think that a "conservative" president who creates an over-arching federal authority to monitor local education is a hero.

Good riddance to bad rubbish I say. At least Bush can't work anymore to create an over-arching big brother govt. anymore. Both Gallagher and Bush are galactic morons. Gallagher moreso than Bush is a loser for worshipping Bush. He is a yes-man who will root for a republican...just because he is a republican...it doesn't matter that Bush behaved in a conservative manner like Ted Bundy would make a good girl scout leader. I am so sick of politics in this ountry. The USA is done and over. It is a dying beast. Thank you Republicans for that. I am moving to Alaska in about two and a half years, and I will begin voting for cessesion. I have voted Republican my entire life...Never again because Republicans have totally abandondoned the American people.

Sorry for the bad spelling in my post
I didn't take the time to edit my post when I was done. It is pathetic for a teacher to have those errors in his writing. Sorry about that.

PRESIDENT BUSH

I respected President Bush because I know he is a sincere man who stands by his values and his main goal was to protect Americans because he cared about all American citizens. He accomplished that and I thank him for it.

ROBERT: your hate is a disease and I feel sorry for you. It must eat you up all the time to have that much hate for anyone inside of you.

A Great President?
Jorge is a democrat in drag (pretending to be a republican). He suffers from sincere ignorance, concientious stupidity and delusions of competancy.
Yes, I voted for the schmuck twice.
Don't give me the "he kept us safe" baloney when anyone can walk into this country at will.

MSM
History books may remember to record the downfall of the media. None have any credibility remaining. Freedom of speech has eroded to anonymous tale-telling.

Why, Pres. Bush, Why?

MIKE GALLAGHER, referring to Pres. Bush, writes: "No where is the bumbling, fumbling, absent-minded frat boy. ... The George W. Bush I’ve spent nearly three hours with is a warm, funny, smart, engaged, compassionate, patriotic, decent and honorable man."

One has to wonder why Pres. Bush, a "smart" graduate of Yale with an MBA from Harvard, as President often presented himself to the public as a "bumbling, fumbling, absent-minded frat boy." Why?

Also: Hopefully, Gallagher can convince Pres. Bush as a "decent and honorable man" to elaborate upon and explain the following words spoken by Mr. Bush:

"I HAVE POLITICAL CAPITAL AND I INTEND TO SPEND IT." -- a message Pres. Bush, our leader, conveyed to a sharply divided nation after gaining a second term. Why the arrogance?

"AFTER 9/11 WE MUST TAKE THREATS SERIOUSLY" -- Quoted from a speech Pres. Bush delivered on Aug. 16, 2004, in Traverse City, Mich., implying that Mr. Bush and his team BEFORE 9/11 failed to take seriously the threats of imminent terrorist attack. Why?

"WE WILL DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO HELP THE PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY THIS STORM." -- Promise by Pres. Bush recorded in White House press release dated Aug. 28, 2005, the day before Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, and days before federal aid finally arrived. A Promise Mr. Bush failed to keep. Why?

"I AM TRULY NOT THAT CONCERNED ABOUT HIM (BIN LADEN)." ... Pres. Bush, White House Press Conference, March 13, 2002, months after Mr. Bush repeatedly vowed to get 9/11 mass murderer Osama bin Laden "dead or alive." Vows Mr. Bush failed to keep. Why?

"WE WILL PLAN CAREFULLY, WE WILL ACT WITH THE FULL POWER OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY." Key promises made by Pres. Bush in his Oct. 7, 2002 speech selling war in Iraq to the American people. Promises Mr. Bush failed to keep. Why?

In complete denial
What else can the right-wing blithering idiots write? They've supported this clown for eight years, so all they can do keep from admitting they were wrong is to put on a brave face.

This president has led this nation to the brink of disaster. As the school-yard bully type who made fun of intellect in his youth, he surrounded himself with people with a few points more IQ who used their intelligence to advance a flawed agenda. And they lied, and lied, and lied. They trashed our constitution and they aided and abetted our enemies with policies who turned moderates into radicals.

The road to recovery will be long and difficult. Indeed, we may be beyond the point of no return.

Kudos to Mike Gallagher for ....
asking President Bush about the Ramos and Compean travesty. That took a great deal of courage. I salute you sir.

BUSH, 9/11 & THE HUDSON RIVER MIRACLE
"I find it significant that President Bush's splendid and moving Farewell Address summing up his eight years in office, with its focus on the war against terror and national security, was delivered just hours after the miraculous crash of Flight 1549; when an heroic commercial pilot who served in the military safely landed his damaged plane in the freezing cold of the Hudson River saving himself, his crew and a 155 passengers. I find it significant that one of the passengers was the brother of a 9/11 victim, and that the plane when evacuated drifted down river from Midtown Manhatten to the site of Ground Zero as if moved by the hand of God."

Good article Mike. I too believe history will be kind to Pres.Bush. Mistakes? Sure. Everyone sitting in that chair has made them, and Obama will be no exception. The liberals who crucified this man should be thanking him that their children, and grandchildren have had a safe seven years.

Jim-Too

At the end of the day..

I'd say that the USA is in a weaker, more demoralized, and more compromised state, than ever before, and almost across the board.
Although, President Bush managed to keep us from another attack, and he gave us two very good SC Justices. Unfortunately, pro-amnesty, Jorge kept our borders open after 911 for God only knows how many Jihadists, and other Illegals to pass through for the last seven years. Our China owned, spendoholic-credit crazy economy is now broken, as is our moral compass.. but we won't have to wait long to know if a traitorous "North American Union" or "Partnership" with corresponding forced new currency, etc, (by 2010) was just a conspiracy theory, or a fact.

Thanks to PC President Bush, and the lack of leadership from the other RINOS in the Congress.. all backed by the moderate, country club wing of the GOP/RNC.. Our major US political levers of power have just been turned over to the most undeserving bunch of perfidious Dem-Elitists-Tyrants (for the most part) who have ever disgraced the halls of our US Capitol, etc..
However, I wish President Bush well. He is a decent man, and no Elected US president should ever have been subjected to such irrational Libtard hatred & obscenities as GWB was, although, I wish he had stood up to the Slandering SLIME, including the media Traitors of the nyts, etc.

It seems to me that there is a political Establishment now which only allows the USA their choice of the lesser of two evils.. I tend to believe that our US Presidents have become more like Figureheads, and that our tone-deaf Congress is also marching to the tune of the elite international special interests, not the American people. I think we will see BHO take up just about where GWB left off.. while domestically, BO & Gang will attempt to undo the good social policies of the last several decades, at least. We can either sit there and complain, or raise hell.. while we still can.

Robert in CO
Dont worry about the spelling mistakes, no one read you crap anyway.

Thanks Mike for a good article

Thanks President GW Bush
I, too, thank President George Bush for keeping this country safe, and being willing to take the fall for this miserable excuse we call a congress, that single-handedly, kept the public in the dark concerning the financial disaster they were engineering and profiteering from, in order to create the greatest "October Surprise" ever engineered by enemies of this country. The United States Congress and the Bureaucratic mechanisms that we have are responsible for this financial mess we currently find ourselves in. Since the mid-1960's when LBJ brought in Socialism and the associated Dictatorship by the Federal Government, and the so called "Great Society Programs", this country has gone down hill ever since. The public education system in the mid 1960's was one of the top 3 in the world, and today, after Federal Intervention and the Socialization of public education, we are now number 28 or 29 in the world. Was this an accident? No, it was no accident. The socialists have long known that to take over a country, you had to capture the hearts and minds of the youth. The society we have today, which is mostly ignorant and illiterate is a direct result of the public education system, the government generally, and the media who have produced TV shows that undermine decency and family values generally, and a MSM that is nothing but the propaganda wing of the Communists who created this bureaucratic nightmare that we now call a government.

Thanks President GW Bush (Part 2)
I, too, thank President George Bush for keeping this country safe, and being willing to take the fall for this miserable excuse we call a congress, that single-handedly, kept the public in the dark concerning the financial disaster they were engineering and profiteering from, in order to create the greatest "October Surprise" ever engineered by enemies of this country. ...... welfare programs that take away a person's dignity, their self respect, their respect for others, their respect for resources, their sense of gratitude, their sense of personal responsibility, their sense of a work ethic, and have supplanted these once proud American values and traditions with a Sense of Entitlement, Disrespect, and a complete sense of Victimhood. Thanks LBJ and all the other Socialists who have permeated our government and created this worthless nanny state. Now, Obama is in to drive the final nail in the coffin of our Liberty, Freedoms, and sense of decency as a nation. But, Obama and his Bureaucratic and Congressional accomplices have overlooked one thing. That is that 30 states, and the majority of folks who still work for a living did not vote for him, and have no respect or trust of him, and we are campaigning day and night to elect Real American Leaders. Thank you George Bush for being a Real Ameriocan. And, thank you Barack Hussein Obama for Waking this Country Up. We know what and who you are, and we are now motivated more than ever to return to Traditional American Values that made this country great.

Dear George!!
How many times have we heard those two words, but remember them clearly as Ann Richards delivered her diatribe at the 2000 Democratic Convention. God bless her, she is gone but never forgotten. A recent bumper sticker read: "I like Ike -- hell, I even like Harry".
Well, folks, I like George, Dear George. How he has stood with grace and conviction while a vile, liberal, socialistic press took every opportunity to chew him up and spit him out, speaks volumes for the man, his mettle, his belief in himself and America. 41 and 43 may be calling for Obama success, I, however, am scared to death of what he, Pelosi and Reid may do to these great United States. Bless you, George and thanks.

Obama is a Hand Puppet
Obama is the hand-picked, hand-puppet of the DNC, and the radical left. Nothing more, nothing less. He is a know nothing narcissist who only cares about himself, and his own image. Anybody can take a look at his entire campaign and figure this out. He has no loyalties, no convictions, and no concept of the position he now holds. You all can rest assured that his Democrat Socialist Handlers will be pulling all his strings and punching all the buttons. The Pelosi's, Reid's, Soros's, and the rest of his Socialist Handlers will actually be calling the shots. Obama could care less as long as nobody, and that means nobody at all, tries and share the spotlight with him. Even when he made his acceptance speech after winning this bogus and fraudulent election, he shuffled his own wife and kids off the stage, so that nobody would be in the picture except the Chosen One. Obama is a legend in his own mind, and that's all. This narcissist is seriously mentally ill, and suffers from delusions of grandeur. Look at this sickening spectacle of a lead up to the inauguration. Look at the scene hollywood put on for him in Denver at the convention. Obama is a puppet, but a dangerous puppet, in that his handlers are corrupt and sleazy Socialists, and they know that Obama will rubber stamp any legislation this congress hands to him without bothering to read it, because even if he took time to read it, he would have no understanding or comprehension for what it said.

Dear George
Good riddance. Thanks for the attempt to reward the illegal aliens with free citizenship, free medical care, free education through college, free pass on car insurance, free pass on free car registration, free child care, free welfare, free house mortgages, and all of the other problems you applauded. Where's the fence? Thanks for another expensive and expansive entitlement, Medicare drugs, the country can't afford. Thanks for the biggest pork spending president in history. Thanks for the Jimmy Carter style inflation that is headed our way because of your help in promoting the democrat bailouts. Get lost.

Bush keeping the country safe
Yes the president only allowed 3500 people to die from a terrorist attack. But the Republican scum bags think we need to give him credit for keeping american safe. The worst terrorist attack in our history. And he still hasn't captured the man responsible.

Way to go!

No Bailouts for Socialists
Bailing California out would be a huge mistake. This Socialist state is the most regulated and taxed in the nation, and they also have social welfare programs that promote welfare, and even include millions of illegals on the dole. As an American citizen, I resent any of my tax dollars going to bail out the Socialist states such as California, Illinois, Michigan and others. Maybe these socialist states should take a look at their Fraud, Waste and Abuse, and maybe stop having sanctuaries for illegal criminals. And, as far as California goes, I would like to see Nancy Pelosi and these other Socialists from California stop cramming California style socialism on the rest of the country, as they have been doing for far too long. All of our EPA emission laws, seat belts, and other government interference into personal lives came from that socialist state that even regulates French Fries, while taxing it's citizens to death, and spending billions annually in promoting criminality of illegals by allowing them to suck up social resources in that state. If I were a California citizen, I would be marching in the streets demanding law and order on the part of the states government.
And, I would demand that the worst part of California, San Francisco and Oakland be quarantined, put under martial law and round up all the criminals, including the politicians and others who are harboring, aiding, and abetting the criminal aliens in that city where they have declared Sanctuary for Criminals and other perversions. The state of California would be better off as would the rest of the country, since San Francisco and Oakland get billions of federal assistance annually already.

Dumbing Down America
This is very easy to explain. The democrats are the party that appeals to deadbeats who never work for anything, and expect government to take care of them. The democrats have mastered the class envy and hatred of those who produce. The democrats keep racial tensions high, and make the people of color believe that they are victims, and therefore are entitled to have the government take from those who work and re-distribute to those who do nothing. Obama played this to the max during his campaign, and even said that he was about re-distributing the wealth of this country. This is typical of a Marxist, and the Mainstream Media covered for him all the way.

But, the real problem in this country started wholeheartedly about 40 plus years ago when LBJ Federalized Welfare, and Socialized Education with Federal Control. There were psychological experiments carried out at Yale University and other places, that proved that a "group mentality" could be manipulated so that people, especially children, would go along with peer pressure, even if the majority of the group was wrong or negative. In one of these experiments at Yale, they took a Yale student, and put him in a room with 6 other actors, but presented them as students for the experiment. They showed them a group of straight vertical lines, of which two were the same length and asked each subject which two lines were of the same length. The legitimate student answered it correctly, the other 6 actors, answered wrongly, and the legitimate student looked perplexed. They repeated this numerous times, and eventually, the legitimate student capitulated and went along with the negative "group", even though he knew they were wrong, because he wanted to be accepted. These Yale experiments were used to "Mold" students in public schools, and now 40 plus years later, this is the result.

Dumbing Down America (Part 2)
Experiments at Yale........ These Yale experiments were used to "Mold" students in public schools, and now 40 plus years later, this is the result. The majority of kids coming out of public schools have been dumbed down, and brainwashed into a "group" mentality where kids take on the attitudes and behaviors of the negative people with low standards of morality, loyalty to country, a belief in God, work ethics, and loyalty to family, which used to be the structure that held this country together. This is done on a daily basis in our public schools all over the country. You all probably remember a clip from a 5th grade class in Fayetteville, N.C. back in October during the election process. This fifth grade teacher who happened to be black was asking the majority black class which man they wanted to win the presidency, and of course, the black kids almost in unison said, Obama, and this one little white girl, said McCain, and the teacher at once began deriding, browbeating and ridiculing the little girl, and the little girl was so intimidated that she was pushed by negative peer pressure to change her mind. This explains what is wrong in this country, and until we take our kids and our schools and put them under local control, and begin to teach academics and stop the dumbing down and brainwashing of our children, we will never save this once great country. And, of course, the TV movies, Sit Coms, News Outlets, etc. use this exact same technique. People are literally Programmed (dumbed down) and Brainwashed, by the programs they watch. Turn off TV and Get Your Kids out of the Brainwashing and Dumbing Down Factories, called Public Schools being run by Social Engineers who Engineered this fiasco we now are living through. It started with our kids, and it has to be turned around, and it will take several generations to undo the current mess we find ourselves in.

Ultimate Leader!
Thank you Mike for your heartfelt report.
Before he became president, I remember Rush telling us how bright and what a good man Mr. Bush was. I discounted the bashing ever since as liberal rhetoric and never once changed my mind. I rather liked his "new" words and little misspeaks as his heart spoke and not the TelePrompter.

Just a little reminder of what makes a strong leader. It's a person who makes a decision, based on the information he has at the time (including erring on the side of caution), although it may be tough and not popular ... makes it. And sticks to it! In spite of all the "know-it-all" naysayers and polls.

The president said "enough" and as Commander-in-Chief set the policy to eradicate the cancer of terrorism in the world. He charged the military and advisors to figure out the strategies and tactics to accomplish this goal. No war goes as planned and as new information came in, necessitating new decisions ... it didn't make the past decisions bad ... just old!

I am very grateful that he stuck to his guns. When he said, early on, that this war was going to be like no other and that it was going to take a long time, I knew exactly what he was talking about (after living 65 years and observing the world). I only wish more people believed in him. They may have but couldn't say it ... because they didn't want to lose their sons and daughters or their way of life.

The 54 percent of the world which isn't free will someday pay honor and tribute to the man who started it all - as they finally come out, one by one, from under the thumbs of the bullies of the world. I of course won't be around ... but I want the world to know that while President Bush was in office - he was my Comforter-in-Chief.

YOU ARE A LEADER TOO MIKE
I applaud you for bringing up the subject of a commutation or pardon for Ramos and Compean with the outgoing president. Whether it was a breach of protocol or not, you did the right thing, and so did President Bush as it turned out. We're gonna need more leaders and examples of leadership in the years to come, who are willing to "Do the Right Thing" as Gov Huckabee's fine book challenges all of us to do.

Bush Forgot These Wise Words of Reagan:
"As government expands, liberty contracts"

Once is Enough
I predict as time goes on, people will begin to see we are in deep trouble. Obama will be a one term president and rightfully so. Americans will see that, it takes more than great swelling words of rhetoric to lead, It takes wisdom and vision.

You Did Well George
I can only say that George Bush did well in the face of the circumstances that greeted his coming to office. He dealt with a sagging economy(a recession) and 9/11. I think history will treat him better than an ungrateful and selfish nation has. This economy is not as bad as Obama is trying to make it. Wake up America and smell the coffee its time to grow up. I don't mean all Americans are ungrateful, but we know who they are. Thank you George Bush for a job well done, enjoy your retirement and may God richly bless you and your family.

Thank you, George Bush!
I was apalled at W's treatment by the inauguration day crowds and even at the jabs Obama took at his during his speech. I know that history will show that he was a great president. He has always taken the high road. I wish there was a way to reach out to him and say thanks for all you have done that we know of and for all you have done for us that you cannot tell us!

Why
Fighting Islamic terrorism required both a carrot and a stick. George Bush used both. Afghanistan is the stick but Iraq is the carrot. If things workout Iraq will be the country that Muslim mothers will point to and tell their children they can live better that death is not the only thing that Islam promises to children. We either give them something to fight for or they will always be fighting against Western Civilization.
