The "Mormon Factor" isn't one

Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

People who watched Mitt Romney’s track record: a successful business career, architect of the Olympics in Utah, and effective and accomplished governor of Massachusetts, say the same thing about him, that this is a principled man who doesn’t make empty promises.

If Gov. Romney assures the American people that there is nothing about his ideological and doctrinal Mormon beliefs that would negatively impact his ability to be the commander-in-chief – and he has -- then why shouldn’t I believe him?

The reason for my epiphany came from a lady who called my show the other day and said simply, “We’re voting for a president, not the new church pastor.”

She’s right. If I believe that a pro-choice presidential candidate like Rudy Giuliani wouldn’t let his personal beliefs stop Roe v. Wade from being overturned if that’s what the nation’s high court decides, I should have no reason to feel that just because there are some odd tenets of the Mormon religion, Mitt Romney wouldn’t make a terrific president.

For now, the front runners on the GOP side seem to be Mayor Giuliani and Gov. Romney. That’s a pretty impressive pair to choose from.

And it might have taken me awhile, but I’ve come to the conclusion that the “Mormon Factor” isn’t really a factor at all.

The Mormon factor should not be an issue
Can someone come up with any policies and things that Mitt Romney has done and facts to backup their claim that would make Mitt Romney's religion an issue? Members of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints have served in high positions in all areas of business, education, community, military, and the government. Some have served exceptionally well, while others have not. Most well informed LDS members would not vote for another LDS member just because he/she belongs to the same religion. They will judge the individual on his/her character, integrity, skills, experience, etc. Mitt Romney will not be beholden to the Church to make policies for our great country. He will be beholden to his constituents, the American people.

It's a matter of judgement, not theology
I guess if a candidate was Santeria, or Voodoo or a snake-handler or worships the Roman Gods or Wiccan or Church of Bob, took DMT or Mushrooms to see God it would be bigoted to mention it, right? Why do I think that right there is good old UTAH those peoples religions would exclude them? MORMONS aren't bigots are they? Of course not. Anyway, forget theology the story of the founding of this church is something no thinking person could swallow. I don't want someone who can't see through an obvious fraud guiding the country. read http://www.moronpolitics.com
