Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?


(Art Brender, Democratic Party Chairman): I thought it was a Hot Air Balloon Rally.

How many people do you think will show up and vote?

(Brender): That depends on how many Texans support the botched occupation of Iraq (the war was over in 2003); huge budget deficits; high gas prices; no-bid government contracts; and do not believe in evolution or stem-cell research.

What message do you think the straw poll will send?

(Brender): That the GOP will not take responsibility for the botched occupation of Iraq; corrupt no-bid contracts to Halliburton; high gas prices; failing air and water qualities; skyrocketing utility rates; and corrupt and failed regulation of student loans.

Are you attending?

(Brender): No. I will miss it because I will be…visiting a grandbaby who is far more entertaining than the GOP.

I’m not really sure which part of this sarcastic diatribe is worth noting. Perhaps Mr. Brender’s assertion that the “botched occupation” of Iraq was “over” in 2003 would be a good place to begin.

Do you think Art Brender, Tarrant County Democratic Party Chairman, would have the guts or ignorance to say that to a wife or son or grandfather of a soldier who is putting his or her life on the line for a cause he or she believes in, the war against terror, in a place where terrorists and enemies of the United States are being defeated?

Do you believe that this man really thinks that Republicans in his state are a bunch of “corrupt” people who aren’t capable of taking responsibility for serious matters?

What a gross, reckless, insulting thing to say.

When I read comments like Mr. Bender’s, I’m reminded of why I’m proud to be a Republican.

And I’m definitely proud of the upcoming 2007 Townhall.com Texas GOP Straw Poll.

Let the festivities begin! And let’s be grateful that Democrats like Art Brender won’t be within miles of the Ft. Worth Convention Center next week.

HUNTER FOR AMERICA
Texans understand that our Republic is on the line, the actions of the next president will decide if we remain a sovereign nation. They have been on the front line of the illegal alien inundation and know we must build a fence and enforce our laws. Duncan Hunter is the man to do just that. That is why he won big in the straw poll.


Conservatives can nominate a conservative. All it takes is not acting like sheep and getting herded into nominating a northeast liberal. 49% will never vote for Hillary, only 60% voted last time. Turnout was the difference. Give Americans a chance to vote for someone who WILL secure the border and watch turnout soar. Americans want their government to fulfill its most basic responsibility.

The primary responsibility of the U.S. government is to protect the territorial integrity and people of this country. They have completely abdicated this responsibility. Both parties have been complicit in this. We are being told it is not possible to control our borders, enforce our laws, and thereby control our destiny as a nation. Hogwash. We are being sold out by corporations intent on importing workers for jobs that can't be exported with the taxpayers paying the true costs, financial and human. If we act like sheep and don't stop the inundation across our borders, we will lose our country without a bleat.

Texas Straw Poll
I want to thank Mike for shinning the light
on the Democrats in Tarrant County. We are one of the reddest counties in the nation.

Those of you that are disappointed that they can not participate in the first ever Texas Straw Poll, get involved locally.

Unlike other straw polls only Republicans can vote in the Texas Straw poll! To be a delegate
to a state convention you have to have voted in
the Republican Primary. The Texas Straw poll
is designed to test the pulse of known Republican
grassroots activist. These folks are the boots on the ground at election time. They only work for the candidates they believe in! And so should you !

This is grassroots politics at it's finest.
