Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The anguish in Monica Ramos’ voice was clearly evident over the phone.

The wife of jailed border patrol agent Ignacio Ramos had been told by her husband how a group of Hispanic inmates had beaten him bloody a few days earlier. The inmates had watched “America’s Most Wanted” on TV which featured a sympathetic host, John Walsh, telling the tale of the two border patrol agents who shot a low-life drug smuggler in the butt and how those agents wound up with long jail sentences while the drug smuggler was given total immunity and a promise of a few million bucks down the road for his sore fanny.

I had tears in my eyes as I interviewed Mrs. Ramos on my radio show this week and heard her describe how she and her three little boys simply wanted to sing “Happy Birthday” to their husband and father over the phone on his birthday. Instead, they were told how he was stomped, kicked and beaten by some Hispanic thugs.

There is such a stench over this story, on so many levels, that it’s hard to know where to start. Sure, these agents might have done something wrong in covering up the shooting of a violent, border-crossing drug smuggler. But 11 years in jail for these two men? And the smuggler is given immunity, offered a green card, and expects to receive millions?

Congressman Dana Rohrbacher is so mad at this injustice that he almost can’t contain himself. All he wants is for President Bush to grant these two agents a pardon and instead, he hears about Tony Snow telling me how the evidence suggests that these border patrol agents broke the law and those of us who support them “better be careful before rushing to their defense.”

You know things are dicey when a Republican Congressman like Rohrbacher throws around a word like “impeachment” should either of these border patrol agents get killed behind bars.

It seems like it was only for the grace of God that Ignacio Ramos wasn’t beaten to death the other night.

In interviewing Monica Ramos and hearing about the grief and heartache that she and her three little boys are going through, a wild idea occurred to me. Since those of us who support these border patrol agents feel so helpless about what’s happening, I want to step up to the plate and actually do something to help them, at least the Ramos boys, aged 7, 9 and 13.

It seems to me that these children have a right to enjoy a bit of an escape these days. Surely there’s a way to put a smile on their tear-stained faces, a chance to give them a few days of laughter and joy. Continued...

Duncan Hunter has
I think Rep. Duncan Hunter has called for the freeing of the two border guards.

So far as trying to get the President to stop his strongheaded ways; it is not the first time in History that a self-willed king or executive has led with blind arrogance; I could cite Woodrow Wilson as one example. We have the chance to replace the incumbent, in 2009, with a coolheaded, warmhearted man from California.
Duncan Hunter is a seasoned veteran of both Vietnam and domestic political wars. I hope to be kept informed on the Mike Gallagher Show of Hunter's progress in the Palmetto State. By the way, Duncan Hunter was a Ranger in Vietnam. He serves on the Armed Services Committee and has
a son who served two tours in Iraq. He won his first election to Congress in 1980, from a district which was only 29% Republican, and has been re-elected in every election since. His record and his positions are such that he has no need to reshape his image, as the others are scrambling to do. Like Ronald Reaqgan, what you see is what you get. I don't like to dis our President, and believe he is doing what he thinks is right. We have to keep going on blind faith that the end will come out right. But someone will take over the job in 2009, and I pray it will be 'that good man for bad times', Duncan Hunter.

You said, ""When the chips are down and the decisions are made as to who the candidates will be, then the 11th commandment prevails and everybody goes to work, and that is: Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican.""

You must read a different bible than I do, Sanity. If someone is a traitor, then I will speak ill of them ALL DAY LONG, regardless of political party. You see, Sanity, I am equal opportunity when it comes to this.

Then you went on to say, "Speaking of getting one's interest peaked...what do you do for a living? It must be great to be able to tell your customers what they should buy and your boss how to run their business or to walk away when they don't appreciate your principles. You must have some ego to never feel the need to compromise or combine resources with others to accomplish a mutual goal."

Sanity, I just love it how you put words in my mouth. That is NOT what I said and you know it. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and surmise that you were not attempting to lie, but instead just forgot. Feel free to scroll back up and read what I actually did say.

As far as you "living in the real world". You have made it abundantly clear that you are willing to sell out what few principles you have to the highest bidder. How ashamed you should be.

Sanity, you say you are used to winning, but you have also indicated that you are quite willing to sell out and join up with whomever you believe to be the "winning" team. All that makes you, Sanity, is akin to someone who sells their body on some seedy back street. You stand for nothing.

What good does "winning" do, if you sell out your principles? By your definition, I suppose you would join up with a Communist that was running, if you thought they were going to win.

You said, "If you truly believe that illegals pose a threat to this nation, would you be willing to vote for a Liberal who was not a constitutionist...did not believe in smaller government...was pro-choice and pro-gay...and pro-gun control BUT absolutely agreed with you on the border issue and would definitely close the Mexican borders...would you "sacrifice" your other principles to get stop the invasion?"

The answer is NO. If a candidate believes that it is their duty to uphold their OATH OF OFFICE with regard to the Constitution, well then, Sanity, that also means they will protect the border, because it is a Constitutional duty.

It sounds like you need to read the Constitution, Sanity. Have you EVER read it?

You ended with an attempt to smear Ron Paul. As far as the quote, Sanity.... don't know. He however does not think we should stay in Iraq, nor does he think we should invade Iran. What's more... I totally agree with him.

He actually believes we should DEFEND OUR COUNTRY, instead of executing the neocon plan for nation building. Imagine that?
