Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Mr. Adams,

I've been in academia (Psychology) for 30 years.

Well, Dr. Douglas, this isn’t starting out very well. I read several posts you wrote in response to my recent column “How Jesse Helms Helped Promote Diversity” on TownHall.com. I noticed that you used “Dr. Douglas” as a screen name – boasting that you have a PhD. And, now, you are referring to me as “Mr. Adams” in an effort to establish some kind of intellectual superiority. I have no need to be called “Dr.” Can we just call each other by our first names? I’ve wanted to avoid the kind of childish insults I’ve seen from academic elitists over the last 25 years in academia – about 16 years as a professor, nine years as a student.

I am writing to protest, in the strongest possible terms, your dishonest and hateful columns that appear on Townhall.com. Just to focus on the most recent one, you seem to have made three arguments. I am working from memory so please forgive me if I misquote you.

Sure, I support your First Amendment rights, fully. But I must ask: If my column makes you feel so hateful, why do you keep logging on?

First, you claim that "leftist academics" have an "unmitigated southern bigotry". I consider this a lie. To prove that it is truthful, please provide me with some legitimate evidence (peer- reviewed) to support this claim. Also, please explain why academic "leftists" have supported the last three democratic presidents, all three of whom are clearly southerners (Clinton, Carter, Johnson). I find your statement to be an obvious, blatant lie.

Actually, I claimed that leftist academics that dislike Jesse Helms dislike him because of unmitigated anti-Southern bigotry. I don’t believe there are any peer-reviewed articles on the subject. The reason is simple: Peer-reviewed journals in the so-called social sciences will not publish any article that sheds light on academic leftist bigotry. That’s because the bigots control the journals. And the bigots are willing to vote for Southern Democrats because their anti-Republican bigotry is greater than their anti-Southern bigotry. I’d like to do a study on it but it would never be published. Would you be interested in doing such a study with me? Could we get it published using your superior academic reputation? And could we do a follow-up study on segregationist Southern Democrats who abandoned their segregationist stances as soon as they became Republicans?

Let me add a few observations. Leftist academics supported Johnson because he was a socialist, Carter because he was (and is) an anti-Semite, and Clinton because he supports the disproportionate murder of blacks under the excuse of “choice.”

Second, you claim that "communists are attracted to academia because of the tenure system" Again, this is an absurd, laughable lie. Please provide legitimate evidence supporting your claim. I've been in academia for 30 years, in two universities and I new [sic] of only one communist. Even if there really were all these communists, there's no way in the world you could possibly know their motivation for becoming academics.

Did you just actually say that there is no way one could ascertain evidence (“there’s no way in the world you could possible know”) of a person’s motivation to become a professor two sentences after asking for “legitimate evidence” of communists’ desire to become academics? I think we are all a little dumber after reading your last paragraph. Excuse the literalism but I see no “evidence” that you are familiar with the term “hyperbole.”

You are also misleading in your reference to the tenure system, suggesting that tenured professors can do whatever they want ("each according to their need"). This is again untrue.

Yes, I know that you hold the position that academics actually become more productive after they get tenure. You are the only person who has ever actually had the audacity to make that claim to me. You even posted the claim on the Town Hall discussion page. Then you were asked to provide the “evidence” by at least one reader. You did not do so. Are you “lying”? Are you telling “obvious, blatant lies” Dr. Professor Emeritus Douglas?

Note: I never said they can do “whatever they want” after they get tenure. If they convert to Christianity, there is hell to pay.

Another Note: The previous note was based on personal experience, not peer-reviewed “evidence.”

I won't even bother with your third line of argument. It's again dishonest, but not as ridiculous as the those [sic] described out [sic] above.

I’m not surprised you are ignoring point number three. That was the central thrust of the article and one that you cannot rebut. I did notice however that two academics logged on to say they had seen things just like I had described in point number three. It clearly is best that you ignore the issue of reverse discrimination in hiring in academia. To defend it would force you into telling “obvious, blatant lies.”

As a psychologist, I view you as a dishonest propagandist. Moreover, I think your aim is to inflame hatred in your readers. This is typical of the writing on Townhall.com, where so many of the articles are dishonest and inflammatory. It's all about choosing a target group (in your case academics), then lying and smearing them in various ways, with the goal of creating fear and hatred in your readers. Take a look at your comments. It would be very interesting to do a psychological analysis of Townhall's articles and comments, coding comments in terms of emotions such as fear, paranoia, anger, and hatred compared to happiness, empathy, etc. I consider it a hate site.

Yes, that would be an interesting study. Then we could compare two groups: Conservative posters and liberal posters, and see just who is more unhinged. Some responses to my articles have included “I’m going to come to your office and cut off your genitals” and “I’m going to douse your children with gasoline and light them.” Conservatives, no doubt!

You claim you are a Christian and yet you are dishonest and you facilitate hatred. If you had any integrity you would write corrections to your articles, apologize to your readers, and get back to being an academic.

I will certainly start with an apology. I am sorry, Dr. Professor Emeritus Douglas, PhD., that your efforts to make me look more hateful than you have backfired so badly. And you keep on writing me – something like four times today. Why do you have so much time on your hands? Do you have tenure? I have to go to class now.

I look forward to your reply (i.e., providing evidence for your dishonest, hateful claims).

Doug Derryberry

Professor Emeritus of Psychology
Oregon State University

Thanks. Today you have referred to me as “dishonest, hateful, stupid, idiotic, indecent, a propagandist, and a bigot.” Then, in another email you asked me to “please provide evidence” that gays are angrier than straights. Then at the end of the email you said “Do not respond.” Do you always ask people questions and then say “do not respond”? Does this mean you can’t handle the truth? And did you really think you could insult me repeatedly Dr. Professor Emeritus and demand that I not defend myself? What is your stance on Israel and Hamas? Is it “Take that rocket but don’t respond Jew boy!”?

Finally, you said via email that you “had a much better opinion of Christians before running into (me).” Really! You judge whole groups based upon encounters with one person? Isn’t that a form of bigotry? Are you uttering hate speech, Dr. Emeritus? Do you have a hate site?

I didn’t decide that psychology professors are nut jobs based on my encounters with you. I’ve been collecting evidence for years and I’d like to publish it. Do you know of any good journals, Dr.?

Thanks Mike !

Who would have guessed that docr duggie

was actually dr dingleberry

You know
I think it would be a very interesting study group if we could compare the emails Dr. Adams receives to the ones he initiates. Otherwise this is just another instance of a pot calling a kettle black. And that applies to both the gentlemen involved.

Oh my goodness!
Mike, when are you ever going to learn that any conservative with an opinion is a blight on society? The fact that Dr Dewberry (or whoever he is) is so intent on berating you makes me wonder what dog he has in this fight. What exactly is he trying to prove? That you don't have a right to your opinions? This is, after all, an opinion and editorial site. He calls townhall a hate site, I wonder what he thinks of Daily Kos, Moveon, or Huffington post which routinely wish ill on others? I guess they are okay huh?
Ignore this fool Dr Adams and pray that he retires before he has the opportunity to share his "intellect" with hundreds of unsuspecting students. He teaches in Oregon? Isn't that where it is legal to biicycle naked in protest? It figures.

Teach ? Maybe not.

It is my understanding that many in Academia teach no classes.

They are just too self important to do so.

That relegates dr dingleberry to the status of a pustuous boil on the anterior area of the anatomy.

I already provided my evidence

Thanks Dr. Adams for publishing my name and email. Now I will be harassed.

As I said before, Adams is utterly dishonest, and all he tries to do is inflame hatred toward his enemies.

It should be quite obvious to the readers.

If you intend to smear me, don't expect me to read it, because I will not return to this article.

Very good!
I am VERY proud of you Mike - the person that you are today!

You are honest, and wont let people walk all over you (as most liberals tend to try to do).

Keep up the good work Mike!

Bravo
Sorry Dr. D, you asked for it. He called you out and now with your tail between your legs, you are scurrying away like a cockroach that has been exposed to the light.

Adams hasn't inflamed hatred here, only pity.

Dr D
You wont get anywhere near the kind of harrassment from conservatives as conservatives get from liberals. And my "evidence" is the kind of posts that liberals leave here. Dr. Adams has every "right" (as evidenced by the US Constitution)to say things you dont like. You categorize his speech as hateful (as evidenced by you saying it is hateful) but that doesnt make it true. Its funny how liberals love tolerance until you disagree with them then suddenly you are hateful, bigoted or otherwise under the infulence of some kind of phobia or other. Why dont you answer Dr Adam's question about Isreal and Hamas? Dont want your hate, bigotry or phobia to be evidenced?

Dr. Derryberry
Derryberry and his wife Marjorie Reed are both involved with and serve on the AAUP (American Association of University Professors) Board. He is its President and she is its Treasurer. So do you think he has a vested interest in being such an idiot? According to the AAUP web site: "What is the AAUP? The American Association of University Professors is the only organization on campus dedicated to protecting faculty interests and rights. The AAUP's primary goal is to allow faculty and their disciplines to develop in a self-directed manner, without interference from administrative, economic, and political biases. This goal is approached by promoting Academic Freedom and Shared Governance, as specified through comprehensive guidelines developed over the last century. When these guidelines are violated, the AAUP works through rational and ethical persuasion to uphold them."

Dr. Adams, Dr. "Dingleberry" is not only being dishonest in his "outrage" he is dishonest in how he is representing himself to you and your readers.

Not only is this guy an extreme liberal socialist, he is extremely boring in his lectures, and according to his own students he rants on and on about stuff that does not pertain to the classes he teaches. He sounds like a monotone version of Lurch. Go figure.

Well Mike...
... I'd say that you definitely won this argument with yourself.

I should have known:
Considering what Dr. Doug has said in the past, I should have known that he was a psychologist.

Every one I've ever met has the medical problem of getting too close to their work. Like first year med students, they catch every problem from people they meet. I've never met one who wasn't as nutty as a fruit cake.

Entertaining as always
Thanks again Mike for and entertaining moment. I've never read anything "hateful" from you, maybe you're just getting too close to the mark, hmmm?

Doug Derryberry
Is he the father of another Doug Derryberry who is a musician who performs with Bruce Hornsby?

Anyone know the connection for certain?

Irony...
In the comments, Dr. Douglas said the following:

"Thanks Dr. Adams for publishing my name and email. Now I will be harassed."

You mean, just like the harassment Dr. Adams received from you?

If this is who passes for an academic these days... brilliant response, Dr. Adams!

suirad
the difference is that Adams is a columnist. Doug was simpy writing a response to his article. I would hardly call it harrassment. Adams was just whining like he usually does. Giving out Doug's email is just a low move from a classless guy. But go ahead, lap it up.

Paraphrasing Coulter...
...apparently a "childish a-hole" describes a conservative winning an argument with a liberal, or in this case, a whack-job academic who could use a working definition of the word "ironic".

This is the first time I've even
opened a column by Adams in two years.

My question is, why would an educated, serious reader even bother to take the time to address anything Adams writes?

It's getting harder and harder to you
Mike. You are so caught up in the trivial minutiae of academia, your writing is claustrophobic.

And you seem far, far more interested in vindicating yourself than in honest debate.

By the way, this latest column is yet another self-aggrandizement, an advertisement for yourself, a piece meant to vindicate your little worldview.

Psychologists need help!
Although I am generalizing from the "evidence" provided by only one such maroon. Actually that is not true as I have met several and had classes with those studying to become maroons. They are so sure of their superiority that they never notice how inferior they actually are.

Dr. Douglas
I've seen several of your posts on TH boards. They are carefully stated, thoughtful, and full of facts. This is perhaps why Adams used his column to merely isult you without engaging in an actual dialogue - he only does the one, not the other.

Trying to debate with people like Adams is a losing proposition and a waste of time, he has the power because he has the slavish following and more important, he has the forum. You can't be heard with respect or seriousness because he is unable to exhibit those qualities, and makes his reputation on never doing so.

I hope that next time you disagree with a TH columnist you address someone like George Will, someone with a gram of intellectual honesty and someone who does not know the difference between being a teacher and a demagogue.

pwned
Anyone who writes to you 4 times in a day to tell you how stupid you are, but doesn't want to be written back to, deserves the public pwning.

Dr.Mike
The problem with the left is they don't consider themselves left wing. They consider the rest of us far right. They are mistaken on both points.

Hilarity ensues
Self-aggrandizement...claustrophobic...slavish following...if I didn't know better, I'd think those posting such comments were describing the senior leadership of most colleges. Yet, I'm curious; at what point did illustrating the narrow-minded "tolerance" of socialist academics become such a point of revulsion to leftists? Is it the fact people dare to make the assertion, or the fact that those accused show up to then prove the assertion undeniably true? In essence, it's okay to actually be a intellectually dishonest/communist retard, just don't point it out, right?

"Emeritus" just sounds more important
Excellent rebuttal!

Is Dr. Professor "retired professor" (emeritus in latin "earn one's discharge by service" - often used to establish authority over those being preached to)Douglas even a real person? Or just another hateful liberal who is so uncomfortable in his own skin that has to create an alternate reality and identity with airs to establish a bit of creditability in his own mind to be able engage others, particularly, to engage conservatives.

Perhaps the Dr. Professor "retired Professor-in latin" Douglas would/should submit himself to a series of psychological studies. I believe the findings would be interesting...though troubling for his inferiority complex.

effective
Adams knows what he's doing. This douce bag will never write him again.

ANOTHER POINT: This was a worthwhile column. Adams' career is showing us how the inmates are running the asylum.

Adams is right. Far right. But right.

wet panties
You liberals' panties are wettest when you get a dose of your own medicine.

Liberals: Do as I say, not as ...
It pretty much sums up the sad state of so much of academia that the so-called 1960s campus “free speech movement” led to enforcing draconian politically correct speech codes.

I have to agree
I suggested to the good Dr. Dingleberry that he needed some couch time. I also suggested to him that he had an enemies complex.

He certainly does.

The academic type like Dr. Dorkleberry certainly believe they have the freedom to demean others without criticism returned.

Perhaps he now has another view.

Dearest Professor Adams,
When I say I hate big government/socialism which is the definition of tyranny(and strictly prohibited by our Constitution), why am I called far right? Far right is anarchy. I am not hoping for anarchy because I want to shrink the big fat pig our government has become. I want balance. My grandparents wanted balance. Have we forgotten checks and balances. Why am I being called far right? I want the government limited by our miraculously conceived Constitution.

Your sister in Christ. Joycey

P.S. I'm not sure the Doctor is worth the time you gave him but it was fun to read.

Mike
Mike keep up the good work, you make our arguments so much easier.
Thank you again Kirk

Mr. Adams! Oh Mr. Adams!
I'd like to come down to your office and shake...your HAND! I'd like to shake your hand, REALLY!, that's all I want to shake. And I'd like to give your children some pop and watch them self ignite and launch into orbit. (Hey, it's what I do. My pastor -who has four kids- has been avoiding me lately for some reason...)

Sincerely,
2spotJewboy

Dr Douglass got his..WHOO HOOO
Way to go Dr Adams!
He's an annoying P.O.S. hypocritical liberal who wants to be recognized as a supreme authority by us non PHD's...but we know better anyway!
He's a nut job who needs sanitorium time, not couch time
You did an excellent job putting him in his place
Way to go!
Edna

Questions for Dr Derryberry
As President of the Oregon State chapter of AAUP, you must subscribe to their basic tennets, right?

Protecting Academic Freedom: Doesn't this freedom apply to Dr Adams? If not why not?

Defending Diversity: Conservative and or Republican viewpoints are in the woeful minority at colleges. Shouldn't this diversity be promoted?

Opposition to the Academic Bill of Rights: In particular "intellectual diversity" or viewpoints. Why isn't a conservative viewpoint as important as anything else? Doesn't this conflict with your defending diversity?

In closing if it flocks with ducks and quacks like a duck then it is probably a duck. Dr Derrybery flocks with left wing liberals, spews left wing liberal gibberish, so he is probably a left wing liberal.

"Dr" Douglas
Your pettyness and mediocrity are living proof of how detrimental our Universities have become..

From a Fellow Graduate of MS State Univ.
Nice going Mike! I truly enjoy watching Liberals getting a taste of their "own medicine". "Dr Douglas" appears to be another Liberal Idiot, with way too much time on his hands. Hope you had a Happy New Years and a Merry Christmas.

Keep up the good work!

Mr. Adams Responds
I have worked in mental health treatment for 20 years, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Professional. I find these writings by Dr. Douglas Dewberry to be an embarrassment to my profession, and to be more an example of his affinity to the sicker parts of academia, not to psychology as a field. I highly suspect Mr. Adams is repeatedly running into the problem-children of academia, who happen to be psychology professors, as the views of a conservative tend to upset these specific academics, which tend to react with quick venom, an unfortunate practice fostered in academia to make sure they always come out on top. The sciences of mental health treatment and their appropriate application have been a tremendous boon to more than can be accurately counted, and should not be judged by this buffoon.
I have met many, many persons in academia who were mentally healthy individuals, as well as excellent examples of their respective disciplines, and I admire their ability to remain healthy despite being disproportionately exposed to so many who are sick- they had a willingness to withstand the illness around them I simply did not wish to test, and I admire them for it. I was best taught by those persons, and I still credit them today. Those persons don't write with such vitriol, or with such alarming repetition, or so poorly, because they are healthy individuals, some of whom share the conservative view, and if they don't share that view doesn't cause them to be threatened by individual opinions.
Yes, academia has more than its fair share of those similar to Dr Dewberry; pretending otherwise is much like saying "Cancer? No, Doctor, I can't have cancer, I don't care what your tests say, because I have a business to run!" Please do not let individuals like Dr. Dewberry blind any of you to the many wonderful people who work very hard, and who provide professional, healthy treatment in my profession.

Peer-reviewed evidence
I particularly enjoyed the deft way Mike responded to Derryberry's demand for "peer-reviewed evidence." Liberals in academia can always safely retreat from their own responsibility for providing contrary evidence by demanding that conservatives provide ironclad proof for any claim (while dismissing any evidence offered as not peer-reviewed).

This works especially well when liberals control the peer-reviewed journals. (Anyone seen any contrary views on global warming, homosexuality, or Darwinism? Offering contrary views to liberal orthodoxy will evoke responses Torquemada never even imagined.)

But what really made it fun was the denial from a PSYCHOLOGIST that motivation could be determined. Is this what paychologists do?

Derryberry really knows how to play the game, but he hasn't played with a master like Mike.

Cheers,
Bruce

Justice was served! ! !

Dr. Douglas
Poor Dr. Douglas. Just like most liberals who insult intelligent articles with name-calling, countering with unproven propaganda, unwarranted accusations, and inuendos, once presented with intelligent information and FACTS, they tuck tail and run. But not always before stating a few more insults for the record proving how insecure and juvenile they really are. However, I believe I will stoop to your level just so you can understand what I'm getting at and that is "Nana Nana Boo Boo" and "why don't you go cryin' to your mama ya big baby."

Dr. Douglas
Just shows another example of the "double standard" liberals have. They claim to be open minded but disagree with them one time and see what happens. They claim to be tolerant but just let one conservative such as Ann Coulter, or any representative from the Minute Men accept an invitation and come on campus to have a civil discussion and see how long before the liberals start throwing insults and sometimes chairs. Prove beyond a shadow of doubt that their ideas are ludicrous and logically don't make sense and they just get louder when they can't make a logical argument or ignore it altogether as in point #3 on the reverse discrimination issue. Just look at any federal form where you need to submit a bid for work and you will see evidence of it. Why does it matter if a business is "minority owned"? What matters should be the quality of work and the price not the color of the person doing it right?
Just ask one liberal to explain why; when they protest it is freedom of speech but when conservatives disagree it's called hate speech. Let just one old lady hold a cross during a gay marriage rally exercising her right and see what happens, (she got knocked down by the way). Call me crazy but isn't that what's supposed to be a "hate crime"?
Why is it that every religion is tolerated in public schools except Christianity. It's time to call it what it is and Dr. I think you did. Good job sir!

One correction
I'm not familiar with the term "reverse discrimination." Does it imply that discrimination can only happen against a person who is not white? Otherwise it becomes reverse? Either way sounds like racial discrimination.

Names, names, names
Dr. Adams, Professor Adams, Mr. Adams, and Mike, I thank you under any and all names for your service.

I am one of the academics who answered Dr. Douglas. We agreed on this and disagreed on that, but our exchanges were civil. He even went out of his way to thank me for responding politely. Meanwhile, he adopted a different tone with others, including you. I don’t see why.

I sure see the results, though. Kaboom!!

There is no need to hate anybody. Just hate the sin. Do it all in a civil tone.

Thank you for your good work and congratulations on getting so much done in your post-tenure career.

You are a "must read."

j(usta) g(uy)

Taylor and reverse discrimnation
Yes, it means discrimination against you because you are white.

Just google it and you'll see that it is in common usage. Look in law school admissions, awarding of federal contracts, discussions of EEO and affirmative action, etc.

Dr Douglas explain this.you psyc guru #2
* The earning power of American citizens is in sharp decline; still, the U.S. should grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens who will work for lower wages and without benefits.

* Blocking the sale of port security to UAE was necessary to protect homeland security, but securing the border with Mexico would scapegoat Hispanics.

* Illegal aliens should be licensed to drive-- to avoid breaking the law by driving illegally.

* Freedom of speech must never be repressed, except when hurtful to any constituency of the Democrat party, in which case it becomes hate speech.

* Tax cuts are wrong when money is returned to people who actually paid taxes, but perfectly fine when sent to those who paid none.

* All symbols of Christianity must be quashed so as to offend no one, whereas all things Islamic must be heavily promoted in the name of religious awareness, diversity, & tolerance.

* Businesses are oppressive, fascist institutions and must not be allowed to become too large. On the other hand, government when run by Democrats, creates wealth & happiness and should be expanded as much as possible.

* Military force must never be used, except when needed to advance interests not vital to the United States, or to obscure a Democrat president`s sexual misconduct in the Oval Office.

Think about it-- Are you mindless enough to be a liberal? Or do you wish to borrow my handgun?

Dr Douglas/pysc guru..explain this #1

With a new Congress and leftist president due to assume power in a matter of weeks, many otherwise rational and patriotic Americans are undecided between suicide and becoming a liberal. Such people should consider the inconsistency and irrational thinking needed to embrace the liberal agenda:

* Execution of a convicted killer is cruel, unusual & barbaric; whereas a woman`s right to abort the life of an innocent child is inalienable.

* Starving an innocent victim like Terri Schaivo to death is acceptable; using lethal injection to end the life of a brutal killer is not.

* Burning Old Glory is acceptable free speech, whereas conservatives like Rush Limbaugh routinely engage in unacceptable hate speech.

* Skyrocketing gasoline prices devastate working American families, but protecting wild animals and obscure organisms is a greater priority.

* Large profits are obscenely un-American, except when enjoyed by George Soros, Oprah Winfrey, Hollywood stars, the Clintons, the Kennedys, and other liberals.

* Conservatives working to preserve American culture are bigoted hate mongers, but the “cultural heritage” of new immigrants must be protected and celebrated at all costs.

* Discrimination based on race or gender is wrong. Except when it is waged against Caucasian men, in which case it is mandated by law & called Affirmative Action.

* Invading a foreign nation is wrong, except when illegal aliens from Mexico invade America.

* Those who believe English should be the official American language are “racist,” whereas Hispanics who prefer Spanish to English are perfectly justified because “diversity is our greatest strength.”

Disclaimer
I didn't write that last post
It was written by J.Lillipop of CFP

Nonetheless, it hits the nail on the head!

I really don't understand...
Why it is that people who disagree with Dr. Douglas are automatically branded "haters?" It shocks me that Dr. Douglas doesn't know the difference between disagreement and hate. Aren't psychologists supposed to know the difference?

DR. Adams is so right
I was once a lowly assistant professor myself back during the dark ages. :-)

Some students once approached me and asked if I would sponsor them in forming a Student Republicans club. Our school required all organizations on campus to have a faculty sponsor. When I asked "why me?" they answered that I was the only faculty member they had been able to find on campus who would admit to being a Republican. That turned out to be a big mistake on my part, but life moves on. So the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Interestingly though, one of those students went on to become a multi-millionaire and I think they named a building on campus for him. When it comes to taking people's money the liberals are never choosy.

Dr Adams and JG
I checked out the AAUP website( that very day) that Dr. D referenced regarding productivity after tenure(responding to me), but couldn't find any specific articles on the topic. I did note that the articles I saw were not reprints or references from refereed journals, but rather written specifically for the AAUP. Even if said article could be found, and was written for the AAUP,it would be suspect since this would seem to be a conflict of interest.

Vying for the top
Lawyers, politicians, psychologists (especially - marriage counselors) are constantly vying for the top slot on my "People I Hate the Most" list. (And yes Mr. Douglas - I do HATE them). I see the greatest pain inflicted on others (and myself) comes from those three professions. However, I am not so jaded as to paint ALL with that broad brush. I see exceptions to the rule and DR. Adams is definitely an exception.

A bit of Luck
I know of at least one Conservative Psychiatrist that writes a blog for those of us with a tilt to the right. A Psychoanalyst Attempts to Understand Our World.
http://shrinkwrapped.blogs.com/blog/

Due for Demotion
Time to move the social sciences down to the vocational schools where they belong.

Let's see: Cosmetology, Astrology,... oh, there we are...Sociology. At least the first leaves a person more attractive.

Evidence and sources
In an article based on observations or opionions, the writer should not have to cite sources or provide evidence acceptable by critics of said article. This forum isn't some sort of doctoral paper. If someone wishes to rebut an article, they should be the ones to do the homework.

Hey "MR" Derryberry..........

......for someone that supposedly so educated, you're not real bright, are you sport?

TH doesn't make readers "hateful" - TH wads you up because the truth is soooooooo painful for you liberals to swallow.

You come across as a typical academia type - you think you are smarter than us (you are not), you think you are better than us (you are not), and the worst trait of "over educated idiots"........you apparently lack any common sense whatsoever.

How sad for you.

Great article DR. Adams - keep 'em coming! Liberals hate 'em, we love 'em!

The funniest comment on this post...
...was made by Dr Dingleberry himself!

"If you intend to smear me, don't expect me to read it, because I will not return to this article."

Are you kidding me,you fraud?!You are reading EVERY post on this site and will be doing so for the rest of the day,if not the month!Including this comment.

But I want to thank Dr Adams for pointing this guy out to me.I'll be looking for "Dr" Douglas on other columns.

Meanwhile,Edna Eagle's post #50 is outstanding. If you missed it,go back and read it!

Thank you Edna.

Derryberry Nutcake
Dr. Derryberry said he won't return to this article to read posts. Haha - I'll bet anything he has spent the entire afternoon and evening here, reading every single word. He's searching for validation, and expecting everyone to agree with and feel sorry for him - as liberals always do. Consider he is from Oregon where the colleges are a haven for liberals.

I love it when Dr. Adams prints names, addresses, and email addresses - makes it so much more fun. At least for us readers.

Mr. Adams Responds

Holy smoke. Someone remind to never pick on Dr. Adams! :)

Dismemberment. That's what I just read ... and righteously so.

This Dr. Douglas
is an obvious fraud. He may have been in academia for 30 years but I suspect, at best, he's a low level high school teacher, if that, judging from the style of his writing.

Mike there is a journal
Mike, there is a peer-reviewed article published that "proves" that conservatives are hateful fascists. I was surprised at first that Dr. Doug doesn't know about it since it made a big splash even in the media a few years ago when it was published, but then I looked at his spelling and made my own judgment. The article was written by four Phd's, one from Stanford, 2 from Berkeley (which tells us it is leftist pap), and one from the University of Maryland (diversity). It is entitled "Political Conservatism as Motivated Social Cognition" (notice how the title is overblown and makes no sense), and was published in the Psychological Bulletin 2003, Vol. 129 Issue, 339-375. It was copyrighted by the American Psychological Association. Apparently Dr. Doug doesn't read his own profession's journals. Dr. Doug like to comment on various Townhall articles by throwing in academic terms he thinks will cow the other posters. One comment he made was that the article was "six standard deviations" from sanity. I laughed myself sick at that. I don't think Dr. Doug is very good in statistics. Dr. Doug is suffering from a personality disorder and needs to consult his colleagues for treatment.

Dave:
True, but not in this case. You'd need to follow the thread to appreciate the context.

Cop-out
"Peer-reviewed journals in the so-called social sciences will not publish any article that sheds light on academic leftist bigotry"

Thats a great excuse for an utter lack of evidence. Conservatives should start their own peer-review process if they cannot abide by the current standards. I'm sure it would have the success and factual accuracy of Conservapedia.

Nuthin' wrong with hate properly placed
Just as violence is good, so is hate. The left would eliminate violence and hatred in their enemies while exercising hatred and violence with great abandon in their own ranks.

Frankly, hate is a Godly trait. It is found throughout scripture that God hates evil. So, the best position for the rational person to take would be to hate evil, as God does. That is not true of much of the left – leaning community.

Ps 45:7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Am 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

Dr. Adams: Excellent job! Well done! :-)
Mr. douglass stammers: "It would be very interesting to do a psychological analysis of Townhall's articles...."

We can do douglass one better. Dr. Rossiter (MD-psychiatrist) has actually written columns FOR Town Hall... and has published a few books detailing just how "clinically mad" the left are.

Of course, whenever I've posted this information to douglass, (on numerous threads) his reaction is similar to an alcoholic who's been told he needs AA, or someone who is in serious need of psychiatric help, but vehemently denies it.

No one in his/her right mind, MUCH LESS a professional, would simply dicount someone with Dr. Rossiter's credentials and reputation, or call him a "hack."

And, who would bother harrassing douglass? He's certainly not worth the time to communicate with, and once anyone emails him, douglass has your email address, and the last thing anyone would want is to have a nutjob have your email.

In fact, sane people go out of their way to keep their email address OUT OF THE HANDS of nutjobs.

Hilarious, DOCTOR Adams!
Yes, I'll refer to you with all due respect. I love your columns!

If you were going to do a study on hatefulness, be sure to include studies on the Daily Kos, Huffington Post, Moveon.org, and Democraticunderground.com. Compare and contrast with Townhall. See which side (liberal or conservative) uses more foul language in relation to those on the other side. See which side is more bitter at the other.

And see which has more tenured professors as regular commentators. I will bet that the liberal sites are "more" in every way.

And then see which side uses better grammar and spelling, just to see whether tenured professors really are as intelligent as they claim. (I'm not talking about you, Dr. Adams.)

Oh, and see how often the liberal sites run corrections on their false claims. And see which side in general makes more false claims. ("Franken really got more votes.")

Oh, and if you ever get tired of working at a liberal university, there are several Christian colleges that would be happy to hire you. Patrick Henry College and Liberty University come to mind.

Oh, and for the record, I don't hate gays. I would love for gays to become straight. I love them too much to want to allow them to continue destroying themselves morally and physically. Just as I love smokers, and would love for them to stop smoking, or love drug addicts and would love for them to stop abusing.

Thanks for doing what you do!

derryberry buried
Dr. Adams is a national treasure. Dr. Derryberry is a national symptom.

Morons Exposed
DR ADAMS has championed again. Although it was not much of a contest. Adams did a smack down job on the wannabe in very short order.

Dr Dangleberries is not a contender, maybe a pretender when dealing with a well versed rope a dope champion of facts. Dr Adams please keep cracking their boneheads.

Some excellent observations from posters and I wonder if simply exposing individuals and their lunatic theroies is adaquite.

There has to be a remedy or an alternative.
Anyone out there got an idea?

Interesting quote
from AAUP: "The AAUP's primary goal is to allow faculty and their disciplines to develop in a self-directed manner, without interference from administrative, economic, and political biases." That is 1960's code language for "pay me and leave me alone to do and teach what I want."
Or, if I may quote George Costanza, "Unlimited sex without committment." Oversight and accountability... how droll, how conservative!

This is interesting: RateMyProfessors

http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=215284

These are just some comments...

"A good prof for a cool class. Lots of overheads and films and extras added to the basic book and lecture class. I enjoyed this class alot. Very interesting."

"This dude will bore you to tears then grade hard on tests and papers. He is very monotone, but sounds like a cross between a goat and Tommy Chong"

"good researcher, smart man.... less in the personality department... but better then his wife Dr. Reed"

"Nice guy- but goes on into tangents and you don't know what the hell he's trying to teach. He'll ramble on and on and you won't get anything out of it. Tests are hard to study for (with his rambling) and they're all multiple choice."

Note: No photo? Hmmmm????

"Doctor" Douglas
"Thanks Dr. Adams for publishing my name and email. Now I will be harassed."

ROFL!!! You puke out unsubstantiated charges about a peer of yours, and then you whine that you fear you might be called on those charges? You are nothing but another idiotic left wing hack who believes that the "right to free speech" means America-hating shills like you can puke any filth YOU want, but that it is wrong for other more sane people to call you on that garbage. You dolts think that your "right to free speech" means you also have the right to be free of criticism when you say something dumb!

"As I said before, Adams is utterly dishonest, and all he tries to do is inflame hatred toward his enemies."

A) YOu provided NO evidence of his dishonesty, you fool.

and B) What the heck were you doing but simply trying to inflame hatred, you blatent hypocrite?

"If you intend to smear me, don't expect me to read it, because I will not return to this article."

You won't be missed, kiddo.

I find it most amusing that you not only didn't show that DOCTOR Adams was dishonest, but actually provided more proof for his theses. In short, you PERFECTLY represent the kind of "professors" that DOCTOR Adams is talking about. Methinks the TRUE reason you are so offended with DOCTOR Adams' columns is because you saw so much of yourself in those he has been describing. Psychoanalyze THAT, you pretentious, hypocritical fool!

Dr. Adams
We all know Dr. Derryberry is reading this despite his earlier post. I especially enjoy when you publish the e-mail address of an unhinged moron like the good Dr. Doug. You play by some rules I also live by and very much enjoy. When someone throws an unwarranted elbow at your head, the best way to deal with it is to throw 2 back at his head. Fight fire with fire. I especially enjoy this approach because the initial elbow thrower really hates when his own tactics are thrown back at him.

Keep fighting. We love it out here.

Agreeing with Mr. Difar
"Just as violence is good, so is hate.

Like I've been saying for years, violence solves things. WWI, WWII, Revolutionary War, Civil War, every SuperBowl...

Quoting MikeR:
"I think it would be a very interesting study group if we could compare the emails Dr. Adams receives to the ones he initiates. Otherwise this is just another instance of a pot calling a kettle black. And that applies to both the gentlemen involved."

True... and in reality the ones he 'initiates' are mostly in response to non-direct comments (meaning media reports and the like) bashing the right.

And I wonder the psychology behind leftist Professors who use that phrase. :P

Oh, one other thing...
It is so HILARIOUS how they never use spell check.

Why is it...
...that when a liberal disagrees with your opinion he calls you a liar?

It seems to me that people who do this are trying to win arguments by issuing decrees regarding the character of their opponent, rendering them unfit for further discussion ... rather than doing the hard work of crafting intelligent rebuttals.

Of course I may simply be lying.

Mr. Dr. Professor
These clowns spew the same typical, boring liberal rhetoric constantly. Sounds like Mr. Dr. Professor is a typical communist or at least a commie sympathizer.

We better get on this and get a study going to find the gene that libs are missing. Wait! We can't get the study published since libs rule journals, etc. We'll have to get it published in Town Hall or another conservative site I guess. Wait! We can't do that either! They don't like the truth published and want conservative sites to print false or skewed info like they do.

Mr. Dr. Professor, why are libs the dumbest people on this earth? My own study concludes that they don't/can't think. There ya go, just published in Town Hall.

Dr. Mike....
Great way to set the liberal Dingleberry back on his heels.

While reading the posts in response to your article, I had an idea. If you should ever (God forbid) become single again, how about you marrying Ann Coulter. I would love to read the columns by the offspring of that marriage! LOL. Intellectual examination of liberal foolishness being disassembled by with a laser-sharp tongue!

P.S. Dr. Mr. Professor
Here's some unsolicited advice for you Dr. Mr. Professor, stop torturing yourself by reading the truth. Stick to lib websites that skew and omit the truth and are asinine and boring.

That'll be $300 please for my consultation.

Dr. Douglas
Wah.

beowulfe
Well said. With liberals, their treasured free speech is really only accepted as a one way street. Response to their nonsense makes them very angry and is not allowed. Dr. Douglass sounds like one of the Dixie Chicks.

evidence
If Dr. Derryberry has been miraculously unable to observe liberal bias in academia over the course of his career, might I suggest the most recent edition of the Chronical of Higher
Education as a source of evidence. Hardly a bastion of conservative thought, the 1/9/09 issue has an account of Dr. Horowitz's reception on a panel discussion of the Modern Language Association (MLA). The article reveals the deep hatred held by the left for any opinion that they deem unorthodox. Perhaps this is why left led revolutions, from the Robespierre to Pol Pot, inevitably devour their own members in a quest for purity. And while "diversity" is held to be sacred, the totalitarian mindset of the Academy seems to have enfeebled the left by robbing it of the need debate that truly produces insight. My conservative opinions have only been made sharper and more deeply understood by defending them in the hostile environment of college and grad school, even though independent thought has sometimes been detrimental to my grades. But a person with a liberal point of view could spend a lifetime in the Academy without ever having to think a new thought.

Psychology.
Obviously from Dr. Digelberry example, psychologists choose that field to find out what is wrong with themselves.

mike
We could be brothers.

Academic freedom
Is it not the leftist professors group's official position that there is NO NEED for a students' bill of rights?(free speech) Do they not actually LOBBY AGAINST free speech for students in state legislatures?

Dr DUHg
I am embarassed (by you) to have both a degree and name in common. You are a disgrace to both (and to western civilization).

MR. derrierefairy
How typical of the liberal trolls like yourself to anonymously attack and attempt to discredit someone like DR. Adams and then cry foul when you are exposed. The sadly predictable liberal double-standard.
Silence those who disagree while going to the courts to ensure that your views are enshrined in law.
And please, "peer reviewed proof"? How can you even ask such a thing and believe you can maintain any intellectual legitimacy?
You and your cohorts are a sickening caricature of human beings.

Attack of the stormtroopers 1

It is legitimate for Adams to attempt to defend himself against my criticisms. However, it was completely unethical for him to release my contact information. Adams had to have known before hand that releasing my email would make it possible for his followers to attack me directly. As a result I’ve received many hateful and abusive emails.

This is a perfect illustration of what I’ve been consistently trying to say. Townhall authors tell lies intended to increase hatred in their readers. Adams takes it a creepy step further by enabling his readers to attack the enemy by releasing confidential information.

I haven’t read any of the comments above and will respond only to Adams.

His defense is consistently and remarkably dishonest. Take my first critism: he claimed that “leftist academics” have an “unmitigated southern bigotry”. Adams now tries to say he was talking more specifically about Jesse Jackson, but I certainly don’t read it that way. I pointed out that academics had supported 3 of the last 3 democratic presidential candidates, all of whom were from the south. Adams responded that this was because Johnson was a socialist, Carter an anti-semite and so on (He actually adds three dishonest statements in this single sentence.). But still, even if this were true, it would not change the fact that academic liberals voted for the liberals, even though they were from the south. But the real problem with Adam’s logic is his confusion of politics and geography. Academics supported these presidents based on their political orientation not their geographical organization. Academics supported these “liberals” -- even though they were from the south. While Adams claimed the bigotry was “unmitigated”, this is clear evidence that the bigotry was strongly MITIGATED (by their politics). This is not complicated logic.

stormtroopers 2

Adams obviously has a problem with this putative “southern bigoty”. Based on my own experience, there’s very little, if any, academic bigotry, unmitigated or even mitigrated, against the south. I never saw any of it in my university, or when I interacted with researchers from other schools. It may be true that southern language-related bigotry may be part of our culture, but universities and science have managed to avoid it. What matters is the quality of the person’s scholarship.

When I asked for peer-reviewed evidence, Adams claims that none exists because all the social science journal editors are biased and won’t publish his stuff. Again, it the fault of “anti-southern bigotry”. This is only the second time I’ve ever heard someone smear the peer-review process that decides whether an article will be rejected or accepted. I was involved in the editorial process for a top level journal for many years, and never saw any hint of that sort of bias. The review process is designed to avoid any bias (by having multiple reviews and so on and an other could also get a re-review if they thought there was any kind of bias in the review process). Again, what matters is the scholarship of the specific piece of research.

stormtroopers 3

My second criticism was Adam’s assertion that “communists are attracted to academia because of the tenure system”. This is laughable: First, there are very few communists in academia, and second, it just doesn’t make sense that any one, communist or whatever, would decide to begin graduate school based on the notion that after 10 years they might get tenure or they might see their career terminated. Most college just don’t think in those terms. Adam’s defense to my criticism was to again dishonest: He changed the wording of what I wrote. While I said “how could YOU possibly know that”, he conveniently changed it to how could ONE know that”. Obviously, some One could find out communists motivation for going into academia (assuming they could be found), but they would have to run an extensive study and frankly it would be very difficult to do. But for obvious reasons, no one has ever done such a study, at least that I know of. Therefore, it would be impossible for Adam’s to know why “communists” entered academia, unless he could simultaneously read all their minds. But so what? It sounded good so he wrote it.

Again, I’m not going to spend much time on Adams’ third general point, other than to point out that he vastly misrepresents the way the tenure system works. It’s a complex issue and different universities employ somewhat different rules and procedures. But in general Adams is being dishonest in insinuating that faculty can slack off once they get tenure. Most universities have an extensive post-tenure review process, which evaluates each faculty on many dimensions, and determines things such as promotions and salaries. In addition, most faculty that I knew were intrinsically motivated by their love of their fields

stormtroopers 4

Adam’s dishonesty increases toward the end, especially when he describes our communications following my protest letter. For example, he adds that two other academics made posts to his article and that they agreed with him. But he didn’t mention my two posts in response to them.
He also stated that when asked to provide evidence for my claim that productivity increases following tenure (posted in the comments), I failed to do so. This is again dishonest. But in reality, I directed the other person toward AAUP website where the original study could be found. Why does Adams make up these things?

Adams also claimed that I emailed him four times in one day, but he omitted the key fact that my last two emails to him were devoted to telling him to not to respond to me again. While, he makes it sound like I was harassing him, in reality, it was I who was trying to get him to stop harassing me. This is pathetic stuff.

To give you another example of the quality of his discussion, his first reply to my initial letter was “When did you come out of the closet”. That’s the type of person we’re dealing with.

strormtroopers 5

It’s also worth noting the smear Adams directed at Ted Kennedy in his very last sentence of his initial article. Kennedy is dying of brain cancer, and insinuating that he is a murderer is an incredibly cheap, dishonest shot which says loads about Adams’ character.

White Adams’ dishonesty is truly remarkable, what really makes it ugly is that it’s designed to make the readers angry. You guys are being manipulated into angry states. What’s even worse is that by revealing my contact information, he manipulated some of you into attacking me through your nasty emails. So: (1) Person A tells lie (2) People become angry (3) People attack person B. This form of motivated thuggery puts you very close to fascism.

If you like being manipulated in this way, then go right ahead.

douglass #6 writes: "I already provided

my evidence....... If you intend to smear me, don't expect me to read it, because I will not return to this article."

How did we KNOW that wasn't true! :-)

And, sure enough, the criminal returns to the scene of his crime!

"As a result I’ve received many hateful and abusive emails."

Right! No one cares enough, and as I said in my post, I'm pretty sure no one would want a nutcase to have their email address...

Appears that douglass has a bit of OCD... He just cannot let this go.... :-)

Dr Douglas calls Mike a liar... ?
Sheeeeeesh. Mike states opinion as opinion and fact as fact. You can parse every article he has authored and come to that conclusion unless your criteria for fact are based on your own opinion.

Of course you have a right to your opinion. Just recognize that by saying so you actually are stating that society, law, culture, and reasonable ethics support and uphold you making statements which are controvertible, questionable, and probably just B.S.

The difference between Mikes’s writing and yours is the B.S. factor. In purely objective terms it is easy to prove that you are full of crap, but impossible to prove that Mike is full of crap. That’s what makes you so funny, I suppose. We know you cannot help it, and honestly, most of us would like to help you out of your nightmarish morass, but you don’t read with the intent to understand. Rather, you read with the intent to skew to your own obtuse framework and then skewer.

By the way, Dr. Adams has not authored anything that caused me to be unreasonably angry. After all, righteous anger is a good thing. It often inspires action that would otherwise not occur… like chiming in on this little forum. Now, I am not angry with you or Dr. Adams or anyone else in this case… are you?

Do you find this post hateful?

"Dr." Dougless writes
"If you intend to smear me, don't expect me to read it, because I will not return to this article."

What are posts 88 - 92 all about, Doc? Just another nutty professor egomaniac. The real world thinks you're an idiot. You can't grade us so we don't want to kiss your butt.

Psychology Profs and Students
As part of my degree requirements in Criminal Justice I had to take General, Adolescent, and Abnormal Psychology and I took Experimental Psychology my senior year because I needed 4 upper division credits to graduate. Consequently, I was exposed to a variety of Psych majors, TAs, grad students and professors. It's my conclusion, based on close observation, that they nearly all majored in psychology to see what might be wrong with themselves. "Nutjob" is waaaay too polite.

More ratings for Mr. Dr.
"Oh god, kill me now. Classes so boring you'll be wanting to bite your own arm off for entertainment."

"I don't understand how a class about personality can be taught by someone with no personality whatsoever. He talks like a crying horse,..."

mr adams responds
Mike, maybe you should have asked the idiot if he knew that Che Guevera was a backward coward, that Lavrenti Beriya and Mao Tse Tung were pedophiles and Karl Marx was a pervert. Since he seems comfortable with all of the above, as we once said IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE

dr douglas poster # 92
I have absolutely no problem saying it. TED KENNEDY MURDERED MARY JO KOPECHNE. There that was easy. Ill also say TED KENNEDY IS A TRAITOR WHO TRIED TO HELP THE SOVIET UNION UNDERMINE AMERICA IN THE 80S. That was also easy. Calling you a DAILY KOS useless idiot is just as easy. There, now i feel much better.

Dr douglas ,poster # 92
By the way "dr"-WARD CHURCHILL, BILL AYERS, AND ANGELA DAVIS ALSO CLAIM TO BE "PROFESSORS. THE combined IQ of those three equals the number of World Series won by the Chicago Cubs since 1909. Since your IQ is in close proximity to that, id suggest why dont you go out on Valentines day and buy your pal LUCIFER a nice pair of Ics Skates?

Pass by reader
Dr. Douglas...I've been passing your responses to Dr. Adams by for a while now...it seems that you are more delusional than my ex ( and he has been clinically diagnosed with delusions) so please leave us alone...I think your sanity depends on it.

Libs in the lurch!
You gotta love it. Poor little Dugly Docling, he gets his panties in a bunch over having to face the truth every time Adams writes and now, he is simply apoplectic w/ rage at being made accountable in plain view of the tax payers, who pad his bank account, that he obviously holds in derision.

BRAVO! This is fun to watch.

Dr. Douglas Please Read
It seems Dr. Douglas will not follow his own suggestion about providing facts and specifics for his broad sweeping statements like,
"Moreover, I think your aim is to inflame hatred in your readers. This is typical of the writing on Townhall.com, where so many of the articles are dishonest and inflammatory."

Please provide at least 3 specific examples to support this statement Dr. Douglas. I want to see proof as well - not your opinion. If you are unable or unwilling to do so I will consider your statement untrue.

Moreover, you need to take a basic course in statistics - I'm sure it is offered at your college. When you complete the course you will know, or should know, that one's individual observations can never be applied to the population as a whole. One's personal observations are almost always statistically irrelevant.

Damn that was funny
Mike,

Your articles are so damn funny and always a great read.

I got your book : "Feminists say the darndest things", and the letters you sent, and better yet, the ones you did not, are priceless.

I look forward to your articles.

L. Steven Beene II

Kennedy
While it may or may not be true that Ted Kennedy is not long of this world(many live for years with cancer, I lack the details of his particular case and thus refrain from making a judgment of that), I fail to see what that has to do with if he is or is not a murderer. His health has no bearing on the statement. Either he is, or he is not, unless you believe in a subjective truth(Which I find doubtful).

You may be concerned that he cannot properly defend himself, but neither can Jesse Helms. Also, you need not worry, but there are many who are willing to step and defend him much like Adams was doing for Helms. Finally, Adams is simply bringing up a long controversial issue and clearly making his position known. While he may be letting his emotions bleed into his tone, I also read a similar event in your own writing.

-A psychology student(while we are all crazy, we are not all liberal)

"so-called social sciences?"
Come on Mike.

I hate to say that I stopped reading your article right there... maybe i'll finish it later... but I'm too heated at this moment...

Who are you now? Tom Cruise? "So-called social sciences," really? What is "so called" about psychology being a social science? You don't think that science can be applied to social settings?

... i'll read the rest of this later when i've calmed down...

i usually like your stuff....

dont step on toes just for the sake of stepping on toes...

Mike Adams is a dishonest bully
Even if a critic asked Adams not to divulge their correspondence and/or the critic's personal info, Adams would probably go ahead and do it.

Hilarious!
How hilarious! I just found this site by accident on the web. I've never read his work before. People give it up! Mike is just a jerk. He was a jerk in high school and I guess he's made a career out of it. Don't waste your time or breath debating him and don't let him get under your skin. Some people just have to feel superior by whatever means.

wow
you really blasted him Mike! His posts usually seem to smug for me, therefore I try not to debate him. It just annoys me when someone makes sure you know their credentials as to think they've won the argument because of that. He's over on Michelle Malkin's column calling her hateful and angry when Michelle stated facts. Dr. Douglas really should either stop thinking that we are all evil or stop posting. There are worse people that post here though.

Dr. Derryberry
If that is his name has some feedback on ratemyprofessors.com. Here's one that rated him average quality (not poor quality mind you):

"Oh god, kill me now. Classes so boring you'll be wanting to bite your own arm off for entertainment. The tests are only loosely based on lectures, but more-lecture based than book-based, so do your best to make sense of his boring ramblings."

How's that sync up with our collective experience with Dr. Professor Emeritus Troll?
