Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Dear Concerned Grandparent:

I am so sorry to hear that your granddaughter has dropped out of school less than halfway through her course of study in English Literature at a public university supported by your tax dollars. I am especially sorry to hear that she has contracted herpes and that, just before Christmas, she spoke of ending her life.

Your granddaughter is like a lot of decent Christian girls who go to college with a solid Christian upbringing. But, then, after being exposed to the influence of radical feminism on campus they begin to “fall away.” In the case of Hannah it was certainly no accident. It was a result of the persistent intentional conduct of the administration.

Let me elaborate on the common theme behind all of the following incidents you described to me:

-         Your granddaughter was told by her dormitory resident assistant to question the sexual moral code her parents used to “restrict her sexual freedom.”

-         She was given condoms by an administrator on the way to her class in the psychology building where she saw signs saying “You’re never too drunk to put on a condom” and “Feeling spunky? Better wrap up his monkey.”

-         She saw assistants from the women’s center putting condoms on a vibrator just in front of the school cafeteria.

-         She was compelled to attend The Vagina Monologues by her English professor.

-         She was told by her Sociology professor that marriage is an oppressive institution imposed upon women by a sexist patriarchy – all for the benefit of men.

In other words, she was told to sleep around (even when drunk), to supplement masturbation with “safe sex,” and, finally, to be proud of her vagina throughout a lifetime of having endless sex partners outside the parameters of marriage.

All of this was supposed to make her happy but, of course, all of it was a lie. That is because the common theme in everything she hears from feminists is that true happiness could only be achieved by focusing on her sexuality and her sex organs.

I was so upset by the story of Hannah that I spent an entire afternoon calling Women’s Resource Centers (WRCs) across America to see whether any of them were involved in activities that do not involve sex organs and sexual intercourse.

I only managed to call twelve WRCs across America in the few short hours I had to explore this issue. I focused on these four questions:

1. Do you hand out condoms to students encouraging them to engage in casual premarital sexual intercourse?

2. Do you sponsor The Vagina Monologues – a play encouraging women to focus upon and, indeed, be proud of their sex organs?

3. Do you sponsor any programs that deal with the worldwide exploitation of women for sexual purposes – for example, child sexual slavery and child prostitution in Southeast Asia?

4. Do you sponsor any programs that condemn the mistreatment of women in radical Islamic nations? Specifically, do you focus on the sexual exploitation of women in the name of Islam?

I don’t have to tell you the gist of what I found. You can probably guess. But I’ll share the results anyway:

83% of the WRCs reported handing out condoms to female students encouraging them to engage in casual premarital sexual intercourse.

100% reported sponsoring The Vagina Monologues – a play encouraging women to focus upon and, indeed, be proud of their sex organs.

17% sponsored programs that deal with the worldwide exploitation of women for sexual purposes – for example, child sexual slavery and child prostitution in Southeast Asia.

0% who claimed to sponsor programs that deal with the worldwide exploitation of women for sexual purposes – for example, child sexual slavery and child prostitution in Southeast Asia – were able to name a single program they sponsored that dealt with the issue.

0% sponsored programs that condemn the mistreatment of women in radical Islamic nations. None focused on the sexual exploitation of women in the name of Islam.

The results of this small and unsophisticated survey would not change much if the sample size were increased tenfold to 120. One still would not be able to find much evidence that WRCs are interested in doing things for women who are truly suffering from inequality. Nor would one find many that disagree with the importance of enjoying sex and loving one’s vagina.

This all begins to make sense when you refer back to a recent column I wrote, which offered a new definition of feminism in the 21st Century. In the column, I defined feminism as a movement that seeks unlimited rights for women without corresponding responsibilities via the suppression of criticism of feminism.

Campus feminists seek the right to control their bodies under the mantra of “Sexual liberation.” They avoid responsibility under the mantra of “my body, my choice,” which seeks to suppress criticism, moreover input, on the issue of abortion coming from men or female critics of abortion.

Campus feminists seek the right to engage in vulgarity by sponsoring The Vagina Monologues. They avoid responsibility for spreading negative messages by enforcing speech codes, which suppress criticism of the play coming from opponents of feminism.

But, of course, feminism is failing on America’s campuses as Hannah’s story shows. The condoms kept her from getting pregnant. But they did not keep her from getting a broken heart and an STD. Now she’s having a tougher time feeling proud of her vagina. And her only hope is in the forgiveness offered by Christ, as opposed to the punishment promised by Allah.

It is a sad commentary that feminists are doing little to make women in other countries as well-off as women in America. But they are doing much to make college women as miserable as some women not fortunate enough to be born in America.

The Best Career Path for a Woman
Women and men are equally adept at banking and finance, lawyer and judge, CPA and M.D.... you get the picture.

ONLY women can adequately fill the role of wife and mother. It's too bad institutions of higher learning have effectively removed educated women from the very jobs that they alone can fill.

And it's sad - for all of us...

Will
It's a free country. Go read something else. Mike's dead on target. Academia is run amok.

Great article
But I hope you were crying crocodile tears in your condolences that this unfortunate young woman is dropping out of the university world that has proved so toxic to her.

My advice to her would be to put her viral infection behind her and hope it doesn't become more than a manageable nuisance in her life. See herself as an explorer, and discover what life out from behind a school desk has to offer.

That is more than her instructors and professors have done.

And of course-- when she finds something worth passing on, do exactly that to her children. Do the work of promoting the health and happiness of your children, and they will grow up into people who live to repay you for what you have done.

None of those college mentor-types, recently abandoned by this young woman, will ever feel that way about her-- it's the growing-up part that impedes them every step of the way.

Will
Will, the liberals' answer to everything is condoms. Got an AID problem in Africa? Fly a cargo plane over a village and para drop some crates of condoms. Instead of focusing on Abstinence programs, liberals enjoy denying reality.

Canada
I'm sorry, but "abstinence only" programs are the definition of "denying reality". The human body is PROGRAMED with a sexual drive (the propogation of species) that kicks in at ages 13, 14....(puberty). Children used to marry in Shakespeare's day at 13 & 14... For all you believers in God, God CREATED YOUR bodies ready for procreation at 13, 14 (puberty).

Yes, you can certainly tell your kids to fight off nature. But the REAL WORLD that we live in (& all through recorded history!) is a world were the sex drives in the human body is in place at 14 years old. THAT'S HOW THE HUMAN BODIES EVOLVED (or were "created" if you're a theist).

Telling kids in this age or a hundred years ago or a century ago that "abstinence only" is the "answer" causes unwanted pregnancies & abortions. To REDUCE pregnancies & abortions you must find a way for the male spermatazoa to NOT penetrate a female egg (which are BOTH PRESENT in kids at 14!).

Go back 300 years ago. 800 years. 8,000 years! Explain your abstinence only theory. History is against you.

Legacy of the 60s continues
Until these people who came of age in the 60s, and now occupy academic jobs, retire from the universities that they have corrupted and finally die out, this rot (promotion and glorification of sex, perversions such as homosexuality, etc.) will continue.

Immorality ("free love"), rebellion against the "stifling" and "stilted" morality of their elders, seemed exciting and glamorous back then; now that the sad, tragic, disgusting outcomes of it are obvious, they still won't let go. To do so would be to admit their own mistakes and reveal the waste and messes they have made of their lives, and they aren't honest enough for that. Instead they try to legitimize their trashy and destructive lifestyles by making others, the next generation, behave the same way.

Turns out their elders weren't so stupid after all, now were they? Now it will take newer, wiser generations to undo the damage, if it can be undone. Students like Karen Agness with her Network of Enlightened (traditional) Women chapters springing up on campuses all over the country to oppose radical feminists--they represent hope for the future.

And guys like Mike Adams constantly exposing the hypocrisy and immoral agendas of the academic left. Way to go, Mike! Keep it up!

Why are there riots on campus now?

The whole thing is breaking down. The middle will cease to hold....

thanks, Jaybird
what you said made me feel better (after reading will"s tripe) I still can't resist ......
Oh Will?! Did the devil make you do it??

Anyone who takes this column as gospel
doesn't know Mike or his obsession very well. I believe this is the 15th column he has written
this year , and of those all except perhaps two have dealt with feminism and/or gays. It is
really scary. I hope this guy never goes out into the street to practice law enforcement. No
one's civil rights would be safe. Except unborn babies of course.

Let's assume that grandma really did write him and tell him her granddaughter's story - this
is by no means a given. And let's also assume, for the moment, that all those things that
her granddaughter said took place, really took place - even less likely a given.
Don't you think the scenario I offer here is much more likely than the one that he sums up with
"she was told to sleep around (even when drunk), to supplement masturbation with “safe sex,” and, finally, to be proud of her vagina throughout a lifetime of having endless sex partners outside the parameters of marriage."

SYT (sweet young thing) goes off to the big bad college after having spent her youth being very
moral and very sheltered. Meeting other types at the BBC, she is either intrigued, or wants to
be part of the crowd, or is seriously rebelling against her strict upbringing.

I

Part II
If SYT did in fact receive condoms from an administrator in the hallway, then she asked her
for them (no matter what she told grandma). If she had a class with an English teacher who
"compelled" her to go to Vagina Monologues, then she purposely picked that particular teacher.
But let's not bother to go that far. Look at a couple of clues here. The girl was a LITERATURE
major (and we all learned after the killings in Virginia that if anyone is going to be a nut case,
it will be a lit major, but in this case Mike is not blanket condemning the students but rather the
teachers.) They are making their students go see Vagina Monologues. I don't believe this for
a minute. What has Vagina Monologues got to do with English literature? He/SYT/Grandma
should have blamed the sociology teacher for that one instead.

And the last time I looked, a dormitory resident assistant is a fellow student. The statement
about the assistant is probably true. Having been there, done that, I know that anything and
everything is discussed in dorms, with the emphasis on sex and relationships with guys and
to a lesser extent with parents.

Mr. Wonderful was so concerned about this girls' story that he decided to contact several
Women's Resource Centers and ask them some pointed questions. One was, do you
supply condoms to which 83% said yes but then he adds to that "yes" - encouraging them
to engage in casual premarital sex . Hmmm. I can guarantee you that they did NOT
say that last phrase. This is again Mike's words. And by the way, has anyone ever used
a condom while having sex with a less than casual boyfriend, maybe a fiance, or even a
husband. Nope, all the sex was casual.

Gee, Will...
My body is ready to have sex at 13, so it's going to happen...

I'm physically capable of beating you to a bloody pulp, so it's going to happen...

You're capable of fitting an entire phallus in your rectum, so it happened five times last night...

Your mother was capable of video taping the whole incident and putting it on the internet...

What you did to the dog was horrible, Will, but obviously intended by nature, since you were capable of doing it and had the urge to do so.

Oh, wait, all of that was perverse, offensive, and maaaaayyyybe untrue. Why? Because we teach people every day, all over the world, to deny their impulses to do things that they are physically and mentally capable of doing. We teach them to supress these urges for the betterment of society, and for their own mental and physical health.

Or, maybe you're right and we need to end our "Abstinence Only" approach to murder, rape, incest, pedophilia, bestiality, necrophilia, cannibalism, arson, suicide, being noisy in the theater, reckless driving, littering, public indecency, software piracy, theft, female genital mutilation, slavery, genocide, impersonating an officer of the law, fraud, extortion, and, most importantly, using improper postage.

After all, the fact that all of these "Abstinence Only" approaches fails EVERY SINGLE DAY IN EVERY PART OF THE WORLD, we need to just support the activities involved.

The world would be a better place with more geniuses like you.

Arturick
Outstanding reply. Human females don't go into heat. Human males don't need to go into rut and fight each other. Just because some do does not prove absolute cause and effect relationships. As you point out, every law, custom and tradition on earth is broken every day by humans. But, we will not do away with them. Mr. "Will" needs to find "The Way." Power to live a disciplined life is available. Oops, Adams said that, and he's just a deluded, stuffy Christian hypocrite. There goes that Christian answer again. So simplistic. It just can't be true, right Will?

Just Wondering
Just wondering: how is it that the nice Christian girls get herpes and get knocked up while the evil secular-raised girls seem able to avoid these problems?

It's clear that Mike has some emotional
problems -- wasting his forum like this. Sounds like he was dumped by some sensible girl, and he hasn't gotten over it yet.

The stark reality is that, with most first marriages not happening until the couple is late into their twenties, this ridiculous obsession with abstinence is archaic. People are going to have sex -- Republican pols seem to prefer having it with boys or while wearing diapers -- and you might as well deal with the fact that the consequences involve STDs and unwanted pregnancies.

Grow up, Mike.

Any stats
on those evil secular raised girls that miraculously leap STD's in a single bound, avoid fast swimming sperm, and waltz into happiness unscathed, Lilly?

LuckyBitch - seems to cover it
The fenminists have been very good at selling the lie (of course horn dogg men have been more than interested in helping) that the only way to be free and equal to me is to be a sl*t.

Well, mission accomplished.

Lilly
were you one of the "revolutionary" sl*ts aling with LuckBitch?

Critical Columns of the Univesity Social
Imagine that a newspaper reporter is assigned the crime desk. Day after day he goes to the police station to get the news of what has happened at the police station. So, day after day he reports on murder, rape, burglary, assualt and such. One day, a reader writes a letter to the editor: Why doesn't your reporter ever write GOOD news. He seems fixated on crime! Is he a repressed criminal or something?"

The editor represses his impulse to call the reader and blooming idiot, and instead says, "There's not much good news at the police station. Seems their main busines is criminal law enforcement, so most of the news there is about crime."

A criminal law professor writes a weekly column concerning the ethos of the state university system. A great majority of the time, his columns concern the effort by university personel (whose wages are paid by tax dolalrs)to deconstruct the traditional moral instruction the students received from their parents and churches and some other social organizations; especially as expressed in essentially unrestrained sexual activity. Other topics include the attempt to silence any objections to the promotion of animal-like morals by the silencing of any socially or politically conservative clubs or guest speakers.

One might come to the conclusion that the columnist is simply obsessed with sex and politics: or he might realize the predominance of these themes in the writer's columns REFLECTS A PREDOMINANCE OF THESE THEMES ON THE AVERAGE AMERCAN STATE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS. It's what they do there.

arturick
Fantastic reply. I absolutely hate when people talk during a movie. LOL. That was about the same reply I was scrolling down to make but you got there first (and did it better than I would have). Will is just angry and feeling rejected that Dr. Adams did not write an anti-sodomy column today. The gay men and the feminazis don't get along well and he is jealous that they are getting all of the attention.

Lilly
The little liberal secular girls don't avoid it, they just don't tell their partners they have herpes, and thereby spread it, and they have abortions.

Smug, smarmy, surpicillious twaddle is all you have to offer.

BTW, I don't go for either "abstinence only" or "if it feels good, do it" philosophies. One has to make their own moral choices and if one makes mistakes, deal with it.

Choosing partners wisely instead of casually will help avoid the consequences of STD's.

sillylilly
Because these girls have been raised with a moral structure around them their entire lives and, at college, it is systematically and pervasively removed. It is then replaced with a new code based on moral relativism-from the administration, professors, campus groups and other students- basically every input comes from a standpoint of "if it feels good, do it". Nobody is telling them the opposite. They assume that their parents were wrong and go with it. This is a very impressionable age. Why do the good Christian girls get the STD? I think that you are an asz for posing this question based on one hypothetical case. You have zero proof that girls from religious backgrounds get more STDs than those from non-religious backgrounds.

Young women
have been sold a bill of goods by those who peddle promiscuous sex as a path to freedom and liberation.

To those of you who tout the onset of puberty at 13 as proof of our evolved need to be having sex, may I remind you that, historically and culturally, that also entailed being MARRIED at an early age, and dying at (on average) about 40? Is this what you want girls to aspire to? I thought the point of evolution was to get beyond baser, more animal impulses.

Finally, no one here discussed the physiology and biochemistry associated with sexual intercourse, orgasm, the release of hormones associated therewith, etc., all of which are intended not only to produce feelings of pleasure but also of emotional attachment. "Bonding," if you prefer that word. Encouraging young girls to "explore" their sexuality by sleeping with lots of men (and/or women) is an invitation for a trip down the primrose path to emotional conflict. (And I'm not even going to hail out the tired-but-true axiom of women being hardwired differently than men when it comes to sex and attachment.)

It's always interesting to me that those who profess to be "scientific" and favoring evolution ignore basic biology and exalt primitive animalistic conduct.

And of course, parents, grandparents and friends, those who advocate this dissolute and empty lifestyle will not be around to pick up the pieces when the $h*t hits the fan. (Unless you consider handing out pamphlets for the campus counseling center or abortion clinic, "picking up the pieces.")

Much of what we call "morality" is actually highly evolved human behavior grounded in scientific fact, designed to avoid illness, illegitimate children born to individuals not ready for the commitment of raising families, emotional and pyschological injury, and the spread of illnesses (that are, incidentally, either incurable or increasingly resistant to antibiotics).

WRC = a misogynist's best friend
Guys that love one-night-stands really appreciate the message of NOW.

Real men do not fear commitment/responsibility. An organization that wants the best for women would tell girls to only settle for a real man.

Take back the night!
Aside from the chalking on sidewalks telling people when this year's installment of "The Vagina Monologues" would take place, I didn't have much exposure to the campus feminists on Ohio State.

Well, there was the "Take Back the Night!" rallies and marches. At the time a few years back female students around campus were being preyed upon by a serial rapist.

What was the "solution"? 1960s style protest marches with bullhorns and chanting.

I'm not really sure what this was supposed to accomplish. Perhaps the rapist was supposed to see this protest march, this socieopath, and have some sort of pang of conscience? Change his ways?

I asked a liberal female friend of mine what the practical use of such an event was and she looked at me as if I were a mean old man for suggesting that it should have some sort of tangible, useful outcome.

Whereupon I told her that I had already taught my sister how to take back the night. It's called Makarov pistol and two shots to the chest. Incidentally, my buying the pistol for her turned my sister from an "MTV liberal" to a "Coulterite" almost overnight.

Best money I ever spent. I recently upgraded her to a titanium framed Taurus M85 loaded with +P hollowpoints. She loves that gun.

Yet another way in which 60s style feminism screws with women's heads. Protest marches are a way to combat rapists, even though any SINGLE one of his victims could have put a bullet into his worthless head and ended the whole problem.

Hard Thought
Uhhh... to a certain extent, morality is transcendent. What you are describing is moral relativism. If I decide that it is moral to kidnap a child, does that make it moral? Morality has been laid out for some of us in the Bible. Now, you can't read every single line and take it at face value but the direct teachings of Jesus tell us how to act and treat others. I agree with your point about the secular girls-they are experienced and know to use condoms whereas a drunk girl with no experience will not be prepared to make good decisions and might end up with the STD or pregnancy.

SamIAm
How many sex partners have you had? Just curious.

I'm sorry too
I’m sorry that 18 years of contact intimate contact with her parents and grandparents could be wiped out so easily. If the child was so gullible Mike you should have easily converted her to your religion of Jesus approved killing. Personally, I think the liberals who inherited the MK ULTRA plan are putting drugs in the food and water that gives resident assistants and college administrators super powers. (Of course it only gives influence to liberals. Otherwise the student my get involved with one of the 13 religious student organizations). Come to think of it, if Dr. Adams actually cared for people like this poor girl he’d be doing something to prevent such horrible incidents instead of just using them as fodder for his pet pony. But, talk is cheep and if you examine his life, you will fine that Mike talks a good game but has never really done any of the things he claims to champion.

Arturick ...
Best post EVER.

Hmm
You know, Dr. Adams seems obsessed with “The Vagina Monologs”. He talks about them constantly and today suggests that “a play encouraging women to focus upon and, indeed, be proud of their sex organs” is a bad thing. Is he suggesting they should be ashamed? Can you imagine his conjugal episodes where it has to be dark so he doesn’t actually gaze upon its hideous ugliness? Then he has to come in contact in his God ordained and church sanctioned manner. He chokes down the repulsion of his contact with that source of unspeakable evil. Then later, he tearfully prays to God for forgiveness and consoles himself by shooting an animal.

Great title
Agree or disagree with the content of the column as you will. But I have to say that the title "Hannah and Her Blisters" made me chuckle.

Cheers

Today there is another thread on townhall to the effect that anti-smoking laws are wrong because everyone should have the free choice to smoke. A poster scolded me that health warnings have been posted on cigarette packages for 40 years, therefore all smokers have made a reasoned and informed choice to smoke. OK fine. But then here you are saying that the young woman choosing to have sex with various diseased strangers is just the innocent victim of a big ad campaign on her college campus called Go Thou and Screw. So which way is it? Because you-all conservatives are trying to have the matter both ways.

HPV Shots: Good Argument
Well, hell there you have it: a good argument on townhall for giving young girls the Human Papilloma Virus vaccine. No telling what well-brought up girls may do once they get past childhood. They might even grow up.

To USMC
I don't even know who that is. Am pushing eighty. Came from another age. Do tell?

Trend Lines
Anybody with an ounce of brain matter realizes that Adams is pretty much a loon. (And yes, if you don't relaize that, it is an insult to your intelligence.)

Fortunately, as we are seeing in the political process of the day and the demographic reality of tomorrow, the constant overblown rehashing of the same issues and the constant misinformation from loons like Adams is having the effect one would expect.

Fewer and fewer people given Adams and his ilk any credibility at all.

Rant on Big Mike, rant on.

Ergum
well written, and comepletely accurate.
You'll be sorely dislikes and excoriated by those "enlightened" individuals here.

Lilly - Pushing 80?
Would that be your IQ?
Based upon the innaneness of your screeds, if it is not your IQ, then your professed advanced years are negatively impacting your mental capacity.

More on the same subject:
This is just a continuation of the same ‘conversation’ we had in response to a previous column by Matt Barber in which I pointed out the weakness of the “safe sex” position by asking commenters to:

“Just imagine the next time you are about to have sex with someone for the first time and your prospective partner announces, "Oh, by the way, I have AIDS, but not to worry, here is a condom".

To which Lilly responded:

“Would you prefer your partner to say, "By the way, I have AIDS but we don't need to use a condom because my Abstinence Only teacher said they don't do any good"?

After which Lon, in support of Lilly, provided the argument that ‘since abstinence is a “moral” argument teens would ignore it but since they want to believe the factual argument that condoms aren’t really effective, (so that it not interfere with their sensual enjoyment?) “it is not at all implausible that many teens take away the message that condoms are a waste while ignoring the abstinence message.”

Where to start?

1. It is not sufficient that Lon’s convoluted logic be ‘plausible’, it is necessary that it be probable; more probable than the other two possibilities combined; that a teen influenced by an abstinence counselor would therefore practice abstinence and that failing that a a teen would use a condom.
2. My advocacy of “abstinence is best” is not an “abstinence only” argument. Is your position “condoms only”?
3. Neither is it a moral argument. It is a practical argument. Don’t accuse me of being a moralist and I will not accuse you of being a hedonist
4. The point of my original comment is that if you would not have sex with a known HIV carrier even with a condom, than having sex with an unknown partner is to rely on the chance they are not a carrier and not on the protection afforded by a condom

Great Article
Although I find the fact that this is even an issue somewhat disturbing, I am not suprised at the level of depravity that public institutions will stoop to to force their agendas upon young and impressionable minds and bodies.

Sex is indeed fun and can and should be enjoyed in the right circumstances. Obviously, many will not believe as I do that sex is between a man and a woman and should be engaged in when married. But if one chooses to have pre and extra marital sex, drunken sex, irresponible sex, sex for selfish reasons exclusively, sex as a form of worship then one should not be surprised by physical and psychological consequences to follow. I am disappointed that this agenda is so important to "institutions of higher learning".

I can't help but think of two qutes which I will have to paraphrase.

George Will said "we live in an era where sin is mocked as open-minded and productive, while morality is treated to cynicism"

And Paul Harvey "politics has become religion in america, while religion is treated politically"

I am afraid we have become so open-minded and tolerant that we as a nation, have become empty-headed

Great article Mike...Love your work

Rob
And you think this is an argument?

Maybe you didn't notice that no hard core conservatives were successful in the Republican primary process? Maybe you haven't noticed that younf people overwhelmingly reject the hard core conservative views on critical social issues. MAybe you haven't been made aware that Democrat voter turnout blows away Republicans?

But Mike Adams gets 400 responses on TH so all is well?

I've always wondered
Will writes: I'm sorry, but "abstinence only" programs are the definition of "denying reality". For all you believers in God, God CREATED YOUR bodies ready for procreation at 13, 14 (puberty).

=================================================

The human body is programmed for sex AND to have children. So why do Women’s Resource Centers spend so much time promoting one and not the other if its so natural?

Sex
Is it me, but I seem to think Adams is a bit sexually uptight. Most teenagers today are already exposed too far more than I was at that age or even Mike Adams. However, I do not think that his characterization is on the mark, so to speak.

Democrats realize that teenagers
engage in sex (especially in the latter years of high school).

If you don't believe sex occured between teens in the 1940's & 1950's, especially the latter years of high school, you guys are living in a dreamworld.

The fact is: throughout history man has realized that are bodies are DESIGNED to procreate at age 13 & 14 (this makes a lot of people who've "forgotten" their own bodies at age 14 very uncomfortable). I had my first "nocturnal emissions" at age 12 or 13. These "emissions" are sperm, ejaculate. They are the clearest sign of nature that the body is ready to procreate.

Since we live in a society (unlike previous centuries) that wishes to forestall sex until the age 18 or 21 or "marriage", then condoms & birth control are necessary to prevent pregnancies & abortions.

The contemporary religious folks live in a dreamland where "abstinence only" is good "policy", that "abstinence only" works (the same folks who used to applaude Nancy Reagan's "JUST SAY NO" anti-drug campaign).

Dear Lilly
Incapable of thinking without moral equivalence? Smoking is equal to STD's? One causes X we must equate it with this one that causes Y? So we must allow both. Based on your argument the following statement is correct. Go thou and screw, go thou and smoke.

I gather from your argument on the other thread you were against smoking and on this thread you were defending go thou and screw?

Never the ferminist
As a 32 year old housewife, domestic goddess, etc... it's amazing how hard it is for girls nowadays who embrace the traditional roles. As a senior in college in 1997 at a private, all-girl, Southern Baptist college, even then professors were amazed that I wanted to be the "wife and mommy" without a so-called career. Public universities are much worse in their degradation of women and are sending these girls so many wrong messages. Wake up folks!

Libertines were out early today
I see that the libertines were out early today with their hysterical rants against anyone who could possibly suggest that rutting like animals in heat might not be the optimal means of achieving happiness and security over the long term.

Their shouting will not, however, distract any serious, thoughtful person from considering the real point of the article. Namely that the so-called "Women's Resource Center" does absolutely nothing to promote anything except the idea that women should lie back, raise her knees, and invite all comers to have a go.

Dear Jack
*Anybody with an ounce of brain matter realizes that Adams is pretty much a loon. (And yes, if you don't relaize that, it is an insult to your intelligence.)*

And yet here you are, reading the column of a loon, week after week, then insulting said columnist in the comments section. I think you should re-evaluate who exactly is lacking in brain matter - stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again, even when you don't like it or its harmful to you.

This was a good column. There's going to be alot of blowback against radical feminism in the next 10 years I think.

Will and Jack --- Two IDIOTS
So you two gay boys think rampant promiscous sex is OK ... fine, enjoy the rampant spread of AIDS amongst your cohorts. Reality has a way of intervening; but liberals never recognize hard facts! Promiscuity working well for you guys?

Citizen Carrier
Well said.

20 years ago when I was in college the general opinion at my small, rural college (where the main complaint about guns on campus what that some of the hunters who went out in the morning before classes started would clean small game in the bathroom instead of the utility sink), was that the women's studies department was the last-resort for useless people who couldn't even make it as a "general" student.

Its a shame that the people who'd flunked out of every branch of the sciences, liberal arts, and business offerings have managed to get so much influence on campus. But its no surprise that incompetent people who couldn't succeed in studying real subjects and who couldn't get real jobs are messing up people's lives this way.

Matt
I return week after week also to hear the latest rantings on the "homosexual agenda", rabid "feminism" & more conservative reviews of The Vagina Monologues. Nowhere else can you hear the manic-comic musings of a social conservative edging off the deep end.

Mike Adams is eccentric burlesque to us; comic relief.

BRAVO Mike! MORE Vagina Monologues next week! And feminist teachers dispensing condoms to students like Halloween bite-sized Snickers bars.

MikeR
You write, "But, talk is cheep and if you examine his life, you will fine that Mike talks a good game but has never really done any of the things he claims to champion."
_________

On what evidence do you write that?

Sorry it took so long to respond, I am not retired. I do not see the correlation between anti-smoking laws and the pervasive attitude on college campuses. On one hand you have marching mommies trying to use the power of the state or judiciary to force others into what they "know is good for them". On the other hand you have proponents in official positions trying to influence young women into acting in ways that would have been considered atrocious two generations ago. Noone is forcing young girls to be sl-ts but there is the message, all the time, that it is normal, biological, and socially acceptable and that everyone is doing it. Anyone holding the opposite view is at a distinct disadvantage in influencing these kids. I think that you are comparing apples to oranges. BTW I detest cigarette smoke but do not favor anti-smoking laws. I just don't go to places that have a lot of smoke.

TrueConservative
You'll be relieved to know I'm in a happy, healthy monogomous homosexual relationship.

Lilly, Will, Jack, et al...
I'm a pharmacist that practices next door to a Planned Parenthood clinic, as well as several OBGYN offices. STD's are rampant among teenagers. STD's are non-discriminatory. But, the more promiscuous sex and sex partners one has, the statistical likelihood of contracting an STD. (But, even one encounter can lead to an STD).

The only sure-fire way to avoid an STD (and protential sterility, abortions, AIDS, genital warts, herpes, HPV, gonorr*ea, syphilis, chlamydia, trichomonas, recurrent candida vaginal infections, etc.) is ABSTINENCE.

Abstinence is not realistic, you say? Well, I could go out an have an affair if I really wanted to, if I met an attractive man. But I don't. Why? Because I have a wonderful husband of 20 years & 3 beautiful children.

I could go run someone over with my car. Anger is a normal human emotion. Why don't I just throw a pie at a police officer that pulls me over for a traffic violation? Why don't I just tell my boss to F-off?

It's called self-control, folks.

Try it sometime.

lilly
In my neck of the woods the evil secular girls are not avoiding these problems. This area has the highest teen and young adult herpes rate at 30% and also of note the highest teen suicide rate as well as teen death rate due to automobile accidents.

Herpes is so common here that it actually has become a joke.

So Will, Lilly and Friends
Since evolved and responsible behavior is against all you stand for do you embrace, excuse or dismiss the following natural consequences in association with your "free love" mantra: STDs, psychological and emotional damage, the family as the most important organizational unit for the benefit of society (as espoused by both Winston Churchill and FDR)- broken homes, out of wedlock births, distrust, divorce, NAMBLA, incest, homosexuality, morality as generally accepted not solely religiously, gang bangs, rape, pedophilia, homosexual pedaphilia, pornography, barbaric treatment of women for either torture or as sexual playthings, necrophelia, beastiality, S&M, auto erotic asphixia, 20 year olds hooked on ecstacy and viagra, et al???

Since all actions are morally equal to you, you must have no opinion regarding any of the above deviancies as long as it is born out of an urge. And of course you would be against any of the above responible and family oriented behaviors, as these stiffle ones creativity of sexual expression.

Is liberalism an mental illness?
just wondering

The real story
I don't believe the story of Hannah that Adams describes is true in the slightest, but let's assume for the moment that it is. The main point of the story is not that she saw a production of The Vagina Monologues or had sex, but that Hannah feels like she doesn't have support from her "Christian" family. Why else would she react the way that she did? I've known people that have gotten herpes while at college and not one of them dropped out or tried to commit suicide.
