Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

I had a dream that I was invited to give a speech on feminism at The University of Massachusetts-Amherst. And in the dream I accepted the offer, largely because I wanted the money to buy another gun.

And in my dream I arrived at the airport in Hartford, Connecticut. The students who picked me up to take me to Amherst told stories of radical groups bent on destroying America - starting with an assault on the First Amendment at Planet U-MASS.

The groups, I was told, would follow the Republicans to every conservative event and disrupt their First Amendment activity. They would stand in front of tables - where the Republicans were doing nothing more than collecting donations for disabled veterans – and shout at them. They would call them “war mongers” and “racists” and chant in unison.

And in my dream I arrived at the student union to give my speech. Immediately, I saw droves of gay students marching by wearing dresses. They were arriving to protest my appearance. Others wore black masks and marched in unison - much like the Hitler Youth in Nazi Germany. Still others wore the communist Red Star upon an outer garment.

And in my dream I walked into the room some twenty minutes before my speech was to begin. But I could not stay. The stench of body odor was too great for me to bear. But as I peeked in, I saw the young “men” dressed in drag as they performed their little dance to protest my speech.

When the speech began, I told a story about a racist who referred to blacks as “coons.” Though condemning racism, the radicals and self-described communists began to hiss and interrupt my speech. And when I condemned a racist and segregationist governor of Mississippi, I asked the audience whether they would join in the condemnation instead of exercising the “tolerance” they spoke about so frequently. But rather than raise their hands, they started shouting me down. I was convinced it was only a dream.

When I spoke of a drug raid – one I participated in nine years before - members of the audience booed and asked whether I had ever smoked pot in high school. I suggested that if they allowed me to finish a sentence, they might determine that I shared some of their libertarian beliefs on the drug war.

But then a young radical shouted “We aren’t libertarians!” She didn’t know how to use the terms “libertarian perspective” and the “Libertarian party affiliation.” Nor did she know how to use soap or deodorant.

In my dream, a Muslim student seated in the rear of the auditorium shouted “you’re an asshole” and left the speech without giving a reason for his anger. At another point in the dream, the subject of homosexuality was broached. A student shouted “Jesus was a bisexual, read the Gnostic Gospels!” I still thought that it was merely a dream.

While the constant shouting and disruptions in my dream were too numerous to count – more than all of my previous speeches combined – the ones concerning abortion were too barbaric to ignore. When I mentioned that some time in 2007 there will have been fifty-one million abortions since Roe, the audience erupted in applause. When I said that around that time nearly seventeen million victims of abortion will have been black, a man shouted “good!” And in my dream I called him a “racist barbarian” to which he merely responded “so are you.”

In my dream, I started the “Q & A” session by asking the audience a question of my own: “Why does Planned Parenthood seem to have an office in every black neighborhood in America.”

The answer, of course, has much to do with the racism of Margaret Sanger – a bigot who believed in the removal of “human weeds” from our society. She was a eugenicist much like this other guy named Hitler.

I never got an answer to that question in my dream. Before I knew it, an avowed communist had taken over the microphone. He never asked a question. He just shouted and pumped his fists saying something about a communist revolution. He mentioned “war and conquest for oil” in between hurling accusations of racism.

When a physical altercation broke out, I slipped out the back door between two body guards. After the microphone was reclaimed, they were about to resume the Q&A. But, in my dream, the speech was over.

I could hear the chanting of “racist, sexist, anti-gay; right-wing bigots go away” as I walked down the hall away from the room. Later, when I woke up in the Lord Jeffery Inn, I realized that it had not been a dream.

I was in Amherst, Massachusetts – a place somewhere in America. Or so they say.

Kimberly, please define "thinking kids with integrity" and give some examples.

Kimberly...
"Thank goodness for thinking kids with integrity."???????????

Which ones might those be, pray tell? The personal-hygiene-challenged ones in drag? The ones who shouted Adams down without allowing him to finish a sentence? Perhaps the Muslim who called Adams an "a--hole?" Their parents must be SO proud that they have developed into such intelligent, fine upstanding young adults who demonstrate such remarkable tolerance and understanding.

Integrity
Integrity is best demonstrated by having the discipline to allow someone to express an opposing viewpoint without interrupting his right to exercise free speech. When did it become acceptable in this country to be so rude and show such an utter LACK of integrity. It is OK to disagree with others, but when a logical rebuttal is discarded in favor of a mindless, tactless mob mentality, those who are clearly unable to think show their true colors.

Kimberly
It must please you to see your name in print, your words unedited and your thoughts expressed freely. It is a shame that you applaud those who would wish Dr. Adams anything but the same. Perhaps in your world the First Amendment only applies to those who share your belief system. It is people like you who helped permanently silence millions in fascist regimes. Maybe when someone shouts you down, you will understand.

YouFool
In the videos Mike references, people were masked. People who hide generally hide because they did wrong or plan to do wrong.

Criminals hide. A person who has sinned hides (Genesis 3:8). Honest people do not hide.

I suspect people who swear are unable to control the words from their mouth. This may make them foolish.

What, No Pies!?
It should surprise no one that the Liberals would be very proud of these decadent ignorant students. They are a product of Liberal teaching.

American Education at it's finest
It is disheartening to see how far our education system has fallen, especially the Universities, which where supposed to produce not just technical experts, but wholey rounded individuals. It would appear that our colleges and universities are not producing intelligent, capable citizens, but little barbarians that ape the actions of those from the long gone era of the 60's. It would appear that our secondary educations systems only hope is a massive enama flushing of all the tenured 60's era professors and their disciples, but such is not likely to happen. I used to think that Dr. Adams might embellish a little to add to his stories, but it would appear to be not so.
On the one level, I feel sorry for those uneducated little barbarians, as they have been basically conditioned and trained to be as they are, but on another level it must be recognized that they are no longer children and should have to face the consequences of their actions. It is also rather frightening that these individuals are representives of the next generation.

Oh hunney where do I thstart?
Firthst of all girlfriendths, thothse drethsses you wore are like sthome bad Jennifer Lopethz nightmare - totally Stheptember Tenth. Don't even get me stharted on the cave queen in the white sheet. A dead nun is fiercthe by comparisthon.

And the danthce wasth total crap. You girlsth were out of sthync like sthnow during Gay Sthpring Break.

Did you even rehersthe? Not that it would help, I've stheen breederths in nursthing homesth with better movesth.

My sthuggesthtion isth that you girlsth need to go hide sthomewhere very dark for a few months and practisth. Learn how to danth and how to dressth. I wouldn't be caught dead on camera anywhere near you guysth for fear of being athothiated with your unfabulousthnessth. Shaaaaady.

Full Disclosure
I wore a dress in highschool once. Actually, it was more like a one-piece, tight, formfitting velvet tube dress that went down to my upper thigh. I stuffed my brazziere or bustierre or whatever that thing was. Senior cross-dress day and all that. The girls wore fake stubble, which kinda confused me a little. And at the end of the day, we had the powderpuff football game, which if you don't know is where the guys cheer and the girls play.

The best part for me was the looks on parents' faces, since I worked in the first period every day in the attendance office, where parents would come and get their kids excused, or get their kids' attendance records, et cetera.

I looked like a more muscular version of a seventeen-year old Ellen. Except I was dressed like a woman.

Jerubaal,
I'm sorry. I couldn't read your first post without imagining it was Sylvester the Cat speaking.

Education dollars down the drain....
And somewhere there are parents that are under the impression that a college education is helping their children.

If these kids had any ability to think critically, they would be very glad that the pro-socialist, bigoted, and intolerant way they conduct themselves wasn't really the mainstream mode of thought in this country. But be careful kiddies, you just may get what you wish for. Then you will get to experience a GENUINE totalitarian government firsthand.

Feeeeelings, Oh, oh, oh feeeeeelings...
I have a feeling that these whackos are afraid of something.

I have a feeling that they're afraid that people may hear an alternative opinion to their own and... and... and like it. Or agree with it. Or recognize that they're not the only ones with a different opinion.

The same liberal degenerate hedonists that insist on imposing their views on others, cannot bear to even allow the speaking of another tongue; another ethnos.

G-d help them all.

Admission standards
When it becomes impossible to hold an intellectual discussion at a university campus on issues confronting our society, admissions standards, be they academic or behavioral, have sunk too low. Their resort to disruption must reflect a lack of confidence that they can prevail intellectually.

Kimbat
Kimbat's rants have got to be planted by TH to get things stirred up. No one could be that illogical and stupid. Of course, we are talking about a leftard, so maybe...

The actions of the "students" that Dr. Adams refers to are typical of the far left. There is only one acceptable world view and it is theirs. Anyone who dares disagree is a racist, bigot, nazi, homophobe, blah, blah, blah...

Oh by the way honey, Ann C. wears your contempt as a badge of honor, as we all do.

One of the
fun things i do on TH is try to guess just what Kim and/or friends had to say from the comments of others. The game started when Kim's posts started getting blanked before i could scroll past them. Kim, please accept my congratulations for expressing yourself in a manner which has maintained TH standards. Forgive me if i continue my game even in these cases where i don't have to. The game is much more mentally stimulating than your posts.

Umass
As an expatriated Bay Stater, I always feel horrified when I read stories of "intellectual" Massachusetts youth going amok and attacking all slights real or perceived. I hope your next visit brings you to the Quincy-Weymouth-Braintree area. They are a much more conservative bunch. Just don't come packing heat, still rather clueless in that regard.

Drive-By-Kim
Another drive-by guano dump by our resident intolerant liberal, Kimberly.

What is it with her that she must somehow squeeze a little Ann Coulter hatred into the mix?

My hat is off to Mike Adams for even attempting this discussion... I can't imagine a liberal having the guts to address a hostile crowd.

Kimmy... you've reached a new low, which is really saying something.

It was WORSE than Mike Describes....
I was there, I saw it all. And rumor has it that there are MORE videotapes soon to come out.

It actually was worse - there *were* hooligans there with pies but lefties lack courage and it wasn't all that hard to discourage them from doing much. The best part was when the large Communist, wearing a Palestinian scarf, introduced himself as a "National Socialist." Half the room knew the translation of the two German words that NaZi stood for -- and the other half didn't.

The whole thing shows how hypocritical UMass is -- a couple of weeks earlier the leftists (including the administration) hosted a partisan political rally for the Democrat candidate for Governor, Deval Patrick. Wanna bet that this sort of stuff (or ANY sort of stuff) would never have been tolerated from the conservative kids?

Hey there, fredo! :-)
I read maybe one TH column a day (no time for more - husband, kids, homeschool mom, church - you get the idea...). There is a certain left-wing somebody, who will remain nameless, who enjoys spewing liberal trash on this conservative site.

I see her post just about every day on any given columnist (I usually pick just one dur to time constraints).

Does she sit at her computer all day and spout off? Does she have any other daily obligations (like a job, school, family, etc.?)

Just curious...

kimberly lies about reading lists
Dr. Adams reading requirements are posted in his syllabi, which are posted on the internet. There is no Ann Coulter requirement. You are simply a liar, Kim.

Howdy, Pirate :-)
Ani't it great that parents of college students are spending mega-bucks so that their children can be indoctrinated with repbrobate liberal rubbish?

No wonder liberals hate Fox News, Rush, Hannity, etc. - they no longer have their monopoly on their propaganda.

If liberals are so much more intellectually superior than us conservatives, then it would logically follow that they would welcome ideas differnt than theirs.

NB - if George W. is such a "dimwit speaker", then why did Kerry flub-up his "joke" about the military. I thought Kerry was the "eloquent communicator". I, yi, yi....

Greetings, Mikescott...:-)
Mike - didn't you know that liberal ideologues don't believe in absolute truth?

If nothing is really true, then nothing is really a lie, either...

That way, liberals can tell lies, and still be "true" to themselves.

Heaven help us all...

That's odd
To this day we still have college campuses filled with 60's wannabe's who get their kicks out of "protesting authority" and sticking it to the man. But yet, there are no communes where these Utopian Socialists can all live together and share what they own. No, once college is over with, it's time to make money, attain possessions, live the good life, move into the good neighborhood. Just ask Ward Churchill. Does he ever complain that he makes too much money in this hell hole of a country?

Mass hiher learning
What a sad commentary that these lunatics propped up by affirmative action, brainwashed by lunatic lsd infected (1960 era) proffessors arenow on the verge of futher littering the intellectual landscape. God help us all.

Hi, Mystic...:-)
I think that too much pot and LSD fried Ward Cburchill's brain...

meh
it is sad when i see stupid people. Even worse when i see other people assume the stupid people represent a larger group. Most college students are not like that. Heck most professors actually teach there classes and save the politcal junk for later. In my years at NC state and UNCW i have never had any teacher try to force some left or right wing politcal view on me yet. I know the crazies are out there they are just not as prevealent as people think.

Kimberly
Guys and Gals, dont bother with her, she throws out a few incredibly stupid remarks and never stays to defend her point of view (if you can find one there). she is best ignored and taken for the dope she is.

Closed minds
The left has once again demonstrated its unwillingness to even listen to the ideas of others, let alone consider them. This is not a trait of an open mind.

The left has also, once again, demonstrated that it is unwilling to allow free speech. Since the leftists that interrupted Adams, shouted him down, and otherwise disrupted his appearance obviously were not there to hear what he had to say, the civil thing to do would have been to not show up at all, and let those who actually wanted to hear the man do so. The left's conduct in this regard was intolerant and oppressive. They would scream bloody murder if a group of conservatives tried in inhibit their ability to preach their politics. This is one more double standard of the left.

They hide behind masks and make sure they outnumber their opposition. This is a sign of pure cowardice.

There is not one single iota of "integrity" in any of this behavior. In contrast, this conduct and those who engage in it are utterly contemptible.

It is the behavior of selfish, spoiled brats. The only thing missing (since kimberly has dragged Ann Coulter's name into the discussion) was an attempt to throw food at Adams. Maybe the fact that he is known be a gun owner had something to do with this, or maybe all he has to be is male, young, and big enough that a potential pie-thrower would have to seriously be worried about getting his butt kicked by his target. More cowardice?

What else from the east coast...
After viewing the "flick", I would have to believe that these kids attempted to prove to Doc Adams that Darwinism is true - that they (these kids) are indeed sub-human.

I feel sorry for these morons
If my 2-year-old nephew had behaved like these "students," experts would say he was "acting out" to get attention.

These children had 12 years in the primary school system where they clearly didn't learn a thing about logic or rhetoric, and, more importantly, 18+ years of parents who never taught them any manners or discipline. It's obvious they were never given enough attention for positive behavior, since they're still seeking attention by acting out.

I'm sure some of these children had hippy-dippy socialist parents, but I'd bet the majority have well-meaning but inattentive parents who send a check every month but don't otherwise pay attention--the same way they raised a kid who could qualify and pay for college but didn't instill any values.

Contrast with the kids collecting for disabled vets--while they're subjected to the same anti-American dogma in the university classroom as their, uh, peers, but somewhere along the line they learned that the universe isn't all about them...

RxLady writes: Mike - didn't you know that liberal ideologues don't believe in absolute truth? If nothing is really true, then nothing is really a lie, either...

I don't know, they seem awfully insistent that "Bush lied" is gospel truth. :p I think it's more like "there is no absolute truth unless we think it is."

RxLady :)
As I've mentioned before, I was a card carrying member of the "counterculture" back in the 60's. I've done my share of pot, acid, and quite a few others I need not mention.

Aside from the fact that I still have long hair, I've since grown up to the point where I can clearly see the stupidity of our idealistic beliefs back then. Why these morons today still cling to them is beyond me. I guess real life hasn't slapped them hard enough yet.

To repeat my new mantra, "The older I get, the smarter my father gets, and the dumber John Lennon gets".

Thank God for huge favors.
At one time 25 years ago I was bound to go to UMASS, due to lack of family $$$. However one day I recieved 2 scholarships that allowed me to go to Marquette University. Hardly a conservative bastion, but at least I learned enough critical thinking to eventually grow beyond swallowing leftist platitudes whole.

Thanks Dr. Mike for reminding me just how blessed I was!

Yikes...
My guess is most of those angry thugs censoring Dr. Adams are the progeny of some pretty successful capitalist entrepeneurs, and others who live very well in this country these children hate so much. The shame is that none of the "adults" at Amherst (you know, the well paid and tenured) even challenge these kids on their obvious parental rebellion; hell, the 'profs' may have been the key agitators- A good professor would be keen to question the student Stalinists in regards to their denying the rights they shout about so often. But, even as society pays higher and higher sums for the crap they pass off as education, those doing the educating are failing more and more. $30,000 a year on average??? So my kid can get drunk and stoned and rant at capitalism for a while? Thirty Thousand Dollars. Per year. Ha ha ha ha ha--- what a racket.

Daily Collegian Article
Here is a quote from the article in the COLLEGE newspaper at UMass: "A number of males who were dressed in women's clothing in protest of Dr. Adams' views on women's role in society and his harsh criticism of feminist movements at universities for taking advantage of harassment speech codes to silence their critics." Now I haven't finished college, but is that even a sentence?

P.S. Kimbat gets WAY too much attention.

My favorite part...
...is the call for revolution. I say go ahead and give it a shot and see what happens.

No
No, it is not a sentence.

Agreed

Please, let them start the revolution.... The term "short lived" applies in so many ways.

I go along with Kwag Meyer
Kimberley can't be a real person. No one can be that transparently stupid.

As far as the inhabitants of Planet U-Mass: These kids have no clue about real life or the real world. Put out on their own, they would starve to death in a grocery store. They are doomed to be failures. As one who sometimes recruits college students for a large global company, I can say for a FACT that idiots like this are weeded out and their resumes thrown into the trash and forgotten. We can't afford to hire idiots.

Mike Adams - keep up the good reporting!

Dr. Mike Adams
Terrible things do happen, when the Left wants to destroy someone. I suffered this same thing, back in the 60's, and I can fully sympathize with you. Mike. In my case I had a "fair warning" from the brutes. They told me: "If you don't shut up, we will destroy you". I dindn't shut up, and I still have moral bruises to show for it. Keep it up Mike. They are the ones who are a..holes, except that they don't know it, or act as if they didn't.

speechless
It is hard for me to imagine even acting like this. I have three college students and this type of behavior would never occur to them. I find it disheartening that here in the finest country in the world, there are those loudmouths who think Nazism is a better way to go. Also, guys in dresses....isn't that a little high schoolish for college students???

PS Since everyone sees Kimberly for what she is, maybe if we all ignore her she'll get bored and find someone else to rant against.

i wonder
how do we know that all these people were even students at the school. I know at both NC state and UNCW if there is a guest speaker coming they post signs all over campus for anyone just pasting thought to see. They may have been just some crazies that wanted to heckle a convervative.

Mike Adams speach
Unfortunately the leftoids have been shouting down people they disagree with for years. At the UW Madison in the 80's I witnessed it at one time and read about a shout down in the campus paper the next day.

They only attack people they cannot compete with on an intellectual level. Leftist views must be shouted and forced upon people because if they tried to explain them poeple would begin laughing. I am afraid many state institutions of higher learning are a waste of time and money.

My Concern
is not that the parents of these young heathens have wasted their money on education.

My fear is that we are getting a look at the leaders of tomorrow.

But in fairness, the "masked" girl in the video seems simply to be preparing herself to go forth into the winter night.

Steelhand
I agree with you. Our youngest daughter is a sophomore at UW-Milwaukee. She sees stupidity, but not on the level described in this article. I really do not think that we have to worry about these "kids" taking over the country. Many will die of AIDS, abortion procedures, overdoses, drinking and doing full gainers into a river somewhere, suicide, and drive bys. Sadly. It would be nice if they would be given a chance to grow up--the ones who do survive will, as mentioned earlier, put on their suits, ties, "dress up" clothes and join the world of the "real" when they finally realize that they, like all of us, actually WILL have to work to make a living or end up being the recipients of charity. Hopefully these few will end up back in the homes of their parents who screwed up so badly that they deserve to have their kids leech off of them. What goes around comes around....

Thanks
Michael Adams for your provocative report.

It seems that most of our so-called institutions of higher learning are really nothing more than indoctrination centers for ideological leftist, adolescent buffoons. Paradoxically, the joke is on them because after paying 100K for four years of "education," they'll simply be 21 year old Ward Churchills, ill-informed, chain-smoking fools, wearing combat boots and blathering about any failed foreign/domestic policy that doesn't embrace the victim de jour.

Apology
I am a UMass alumna (class of 1983) and I am ashamed for my school, the Umass student body and for the state I was born in. I want to publicly apologize (on behalf of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, the UMass student body and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts) to Mike Adams for this disgusting display of liberal "tolerance". I hope that the UMass Alumni Association doesn't hold its collective breath waiting for my donations. They won't be coming any time soon or ever for that matter. OH, and my husband is also an alumnus. His donations will come when mine do (when donkeys fly).

UMASS "Education"
One of my closest friends in high school went to UMASS. I had lost track of her for many years, but decided to get in touch with her. The UMASS Alumni Office was kind enough to forward a note to her for me. I had heard she decided to become a lesbian while in college (she was straight in high school, as many could attest to) and had adopted a child with her partner. Being a Libertarian, I figured live and let live. She wrote a very nice letter back, telling me about her son and how her life was going, and asking me what I had been up to. I wrote her back to tell her that, among other things, I had become a Naval Officer. I guess my career choice didn't sit well with her because I have never heard back from her. While my friend had always leaned toward the liberal, and had always enjoyed spirited debate with conservatives, she had always been able to separate the argument from the individual and was friends with everyone. I blame UMASS for apparently turning her into a hateful person who relies on the far-left agenda to decide who she likes and dislikes.

DailyKos, Democraticunderground.....
.....shouting people down is only the start. Where technology allows them to, they dominate the discussion by simply not allowing anybody who disagrees with them to even be present, or to express their view at all. They honestly believe that the right to free speech only applies to people expressing their ideological beliefs. Eventually they will try to enforce this at a national level.

Kimbat
Kimbat may or may not be a failed abortion, but she is surely an argument for making retroactive abortion legal.

Apparently UMass doesn't teach history. Socialism (communism) has failed every time it has been tried. ( it's what brought about the Decline and Fall of the Athenian Republic). Oh yeah, I forgot that the Kerrys and Clintons and the Hollywood left are smart enough to make it work.

God help us now that they have the Congress.

The Old Coot ( cleaned up for publication)

I was in Amherst, Massachusetts – a place somewhere in America. Or so they say.

Mike, I remember Amherst well.
That's the place I saw a young co-ed walk
into a tree while watching one of my shirtless

E me.

Absolutely astounded....
While I was watching those YouTube videos of Dr. Adams' speech at UMASS, my mouth fell open and I was in a total state of shock. First off, what kind of parent raises their child to act that way? And secondly, what kind of university would allow that behavior? It's absolutely disgraceful. If I had been Dr. Adams, I would have been afraid for my life. I currently attend a small liberal arts college. We certainly have our diversity on campus, but I would like to think that none of our students would ever dream of acting this way towards someone that had been invited to speak to us. All of those students should be ashamed, and their precious mommies and daddies should be mortified.
I also find it somewhat frightening that Facism and Communism should be thiriving still on our campuses. You'd think these people would know from previous examples that those systems do not work. Let's look at the careers of Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin and all those other guys and see where they ended up. Yeah, that's encouragement to go become a Nazi.....

Jerubaal,
rumor has it that you're up for the starring role in "Brokeback Mountain 2". Any truth to it?

When the real war starts
I hope these You're Not The Boss Of Me brats are right out there on the front lines. From my safe hideout in Galt's Gulch, I look forward with pleasure to the sight of some dress-wearing male's attempt to convince a scimitar-wielding Imam that He's Not The Boss Of -- oops.

"A tisket, a tasket, a head in a basket/it cannot reply to a question you ask it."

There are times when I actually look forward to this. I am sorry to admit it because Mama and Daddy brought me up better than that. But some day perhaps I will master my schadenfreude in this regard....

Liberal Umass
I'm a UMass student who was at the speech that Mr. Adams gave, and I have to say that the students in attendance were some of the most rude and ignorant people I have ever seen. This says a lot when you go to such a liberal school like UMass Amherst. Every day I have to deal with liberal lies and propaganda that are constantly thrown around this campus. If you want proof, just read our schools newspaper or take a walk through our campus center, where you will see a lifetime’s supply of anti-Bush and anti-war bs. Students at this school need to realize that the 60’s are over. The worst part of all of this is that most students don’t even know the issues! They just hear other people talking bad about our president and decide that its hip and cool to be against “the establishment.” To these people at school it seems like America is the worst place in the world to live. I wish I could send them back in time to Soviet Russia, or China under Mao, then we could see how liberal they would be.

Wasnt a dream...was bussiness as usual!!
Great column. If you really want to get wound up how anticonstitutional that neck of the woods really are... take a look at how they interpret and trod on the second amendment, The Nazi's had NOTHING on these guys. As a law abiding retired Marine Vet, you cant pass through the state of Conn or Mass with out the possibility of becoming a felon if you possess a firearm and woe to those with a HANDGUN.

enough is enough
Folks: Mike wrote this satire to illuminate every cliché fault he can find with higher education and everyone jumped for it. While is contains truthful elements, it’s a fictional account. Furthermore, it doesn’t truly represent our colleges and universities. Ask yourselves; is there not one thing good amongst them? Is it logical or even realistic to think that no one learns, that science doesn’t advance, or that all who pass through are brain washed? Sure, this topic is interesting, but when expressed over and over again, it makes me wonder why Dr. Adams would still be teaching and accepting money from such horrible institutions. Don’t kid yourselves. Dr. Adams is not struggling to improve the situation. He’s capitalizing on what’s wrong with it. I admit I like some of his articles, and his take on free speech is very good, but this stuff is so over the top, I have difficulty taking it seriously and responding as such. Folks, it’s just comedy, like a Mike Adams version of The Simpsons.

MikeR, I was there in attendance that night. Every description that Mike gave in his column was accurate. It wasn't fiction! This stuff he wrote about is not over the top at all, and I understand that you might have trouble taking it seriously, but it really happened!

'60's Mentality
I read a think-piece recently that attemplted to explain the '60s mentality and its gravitation to our campuses now. The writer's thesis was that those '60s young radicals never underwent the necessary 'slap-down' from society all other generations received - they were coddled and even in attempting to be 'over the top' (and I was amoung them and i know this is true),they weren't properly 'put in their place'. By learning how to lose, we grow. And this piece of growing up is necessary to be a complete humjan being in a crowded society (an analogy would be they never were taught you can't yell 'FIRE' in a crowded theater). Even the Star Trek writers got this right - remember how Capt. Kirk rigged the computer to avoid 'losing' his ship and learning that lesson? So they were never made to grow up through negative feedback - and they are lesser humans for it. Our mistake, like the mistake of the Saudis in allowing the Wahabists to control their schools, was to allow these adolescent now-60 year olds to use our universities (which they never left philosophically or morally or actually) as their platform for more leftist propaganda. Are all campuses and professors like this? No, but a sizable proportion are and we're now reaping the 'benefits' of our parents' generation of raising kids in the 'don't spank' / 'don't critizise' child-rearing craze that still prevails today. Young people rebel - and in rebellion expect to be slapped down. They subconsciously beg for it. And when it doesn't come, it leaves an empty space within them. The space where for maost of us integrity, honesty and morality live.

Newspaper?

This "newspaper article" reads like a report from a mid-school kid on "what I did this week.

It would have been wonderful if someone could have been 1/2 the intelligence of Combes (of Hannity and Combes) {I frequently disagree with what he says, but it is coherent)

Stupid is as stupid does...
For those who think "kimberly" can't be that stupid, I invite you to spend five minutes on ANY post at http://www.huffingtonpost.com. You'll find that kimberly, unfortunately, has friends. (Either that or the website URL should be changed to http://www.kimberlysfamilyreunion.com.) They breed! (Well, they don't really "breed." The actually only have their 1.2 kids and three dogs and/or cats...)

Any longer than five minutes on that site and you'll need a shower, though, so be careful. Ten minutes and it's the decontamination chamber for you.

By the way, shouting someone down and making unsupported claims as to their racism and bigotry makes you right. Just ask a liberal.

MikeR
Watch the videos. Duh.

RE: Kimberly
That you are LITTERALLY stupid enough to think that celebrating racism is a positive thing is all any rational human being needs to know about you to dismiss you as the left wing kook that you are.

But please, continue to remind the thinking people of the world why dopes like you ought to be ignored. Every time you press the "Post Your Comments" button, you create 10 or 100 or 1000 more Republican voters.

MikeR
Are you a delusional moonbat? Is the video staged? Are those on this blog who were there just adding to Mikes "satire"?

You basically just called a bunch of people liars because you don't agree with them? Get a life. You are no better than the morons in the video clip.

how does this look to

UMass's foreign student population, especially the Muslim students if there are any?

Most of the posters here express surprise and disgust with the stupid student response to Dr Adams' presence. Most of these same posters have been brought up in the same country, culture, public school system and TV / Media /music influences.

What do you suppose the gut reaction of even a moderate Muslim middle-easterner is to such a display? "Those silly Americans - (smile) - at it again !! I hope my country becomes more like this !! That's why I'm here !! Long Live America !!"

I worked registration in a small Jr college and a reasonably large university for several years starting in the mid seventies. America has a large guest student population and has for at least thirty years.

Kind of sheds some light on the the attitude of some contrty's leaders toward the U.S. expressed at a recent U.N. meeting.

But we were surprised about that too.

Forced secession, what a concept!
The US should trim MA from the tree of states as they are clearly far more trouble than they are worth.

Difference between Reps and Dems.
Republicans are strong enough in their convictions to allow opposing points of view to be presented. Even if they disagree with those views, Republicans are smart enough to realize that being able to debate against the opposing point of view makes their own philosophy stronger.

Democrats, at least what is today called Democrats, own views, though, are so weak and indefensible that they realize that if they allow the opposing point of view to be presented, their own philosophy will collapse on its face. So instead, they show up to shout down the opposition, block people from hearing the point of view, or just outright assault those trying to present the opposing view.

RE: proudsahm
Good point. No, it isn't a sentence. At least it isn't a complete ENGLISH sentence. It's missing the predicate part of the sentence. Yes, that's just our tax dollars hard at work teaching kids "Englishish" at our public universities!

Send A Message To Wal-Mart and Sam's
We have asked our supporters not to shop at Wal-Mart or Sam's Club this coming Friday or Saturday. Thus far nearly 400,000 families have agreed not to shop at Wal-Mart on those days. We suggest you shop with your local merchants.

Here is why we are asking you not to shop at Wal-Mart or Sam's Club this Friday or Saturday:

- Wal-Mart gave $60,000 to homosexual group to support homosexual agenda in the workplace

- Wal-Mart made a generous donation to the Northwest Arkansas Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center

- Wal-Mart sells pro-homosexual items from their website

- Wal-Mart asks for, and receives, permission to join Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce

- Wal-Mart invites homosexual ad agency to headquarters for 2-day seminar to indoctrinate employees.

- Last March, Wal-Mart chose to promote "Brokeback Mountain" video over a top-selling family-oriented film. Wal-Mart began taking advance orders of the homosexual love movie, "Brokeback Mountain." A large display greeted customers when they walked through the front doors of the store. "Brokeback Mountain" was released the same day as best selling pro-family movie, "The Chronicles of Narnia" which Wal-Mart did not promote.

Speaking of unwashed protestors...
this is a shameless plug for my latest post on my blog.

Drop by and visit: its about Leftie Gals Gone Wild.

If Sams Club opened a mini-store...
would it be called "Son of Sam's?"

Intolerance by the "tolerant"
I wonder if there is any way to have a sane debate with any of these people who call conservatives intolerant??

The anger and hate exhibited in the posts I read here is scary to me. It makes you wonder if they have ever had a really happy day in their lives.

Kimberly-babe
Please don't make up stuff to post on TH.com ("This is a college professor who has Ann Coulter on his class reading list. Ann Coulter.")

You're supposed to use rational argument and legitimate debating tactics, not lies.

If you can't think of a counter-argument, then you need to remain silent.

You posted that the UMAss-Amherst students were, "thinking kids with integrity." From the posts and Adams' article, I think NOT.

From the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the USA has received nothing but intolerance and anti-American diatribes, not to mention rediculous and incompetent congressmen and presidential candidates. This has been going on for decades.

I suggest that Mass. secede from the union immediately.

Like trying to talk sanity to Charlie Ma
Farmer's wife-

That would be like trying to talk sane to Charlie Manson. Helter Skelter.

beowulfe
In addition to the difference in character between Lefties and Righties (who are always RIGHT) there is also that organizing thing the Marxie Wannabeez do.

While normal people (in other words, conservatives) are going about their lives, working, raising their kids, paying the bills, making the country a better place, the Lefties are getting together in back rooms and figuring out how to "stick it to the man."

These college students are being led by their Leftie professors who never got over the fact it isn't 1970 anymore. Of course, these cowardly professors know enough when not to be acting up themselves: there is a point where even the Leftie Universities will show them the door. So they hide in the background, like the creepy villian from The Eiger Sanction, or kinda like George Soros.

Dial up?
MikeR writes: Folks: Mike wrote this satire to illuminate every cliché fault he can find with higher education and everyone jumped for it.
-------------------------------------------------

So we should believe you and not our own eyes? Switch from dialup to cable and you can watch too. Or would that go against your beliefs as a practicing denialist?

Ummm, it really happened, I was there...
> MikeR writes: Mike wrote this satire to
> illuminate every cliché fault he can find
> with higher education

He may use the issue of "dream" as an authoring tool but no, it really *did* happen. I was there and I saw it. There are TWO articles in the left-leaning student newspaper (http://www.dailycollegian.com) and when they try to write a negative article about the Republican Club and it comes out looking positive it shows just how bad things really were.

Someone else said:
> The only thing missing (since kimberly has
> dragged Ann Coulter's name into the
> discussion) was an attempt to throw food

No, that was there too. The difference between collegiate conservatives and the lefties is that while we will act individually, the lefties can't even go to the bathroom without a collective strategy conference. We have absolutely no problem going into harms way by ourself -- while we hope our friends will be behind us, we will go individually before looking back to see if they are. What was happening that night was the left trying to organize and us trying to disorganize them.

We are used to being outnumbered 10:1 or 20:1 and don't care -- they freak out in the presence of an organized opposition. Hence no pies would fly...

It got really interesting when a drug-confused leftie, looking for a Student Govt meeting (to vote for an increase in student fees) got lost and wandered in with at least a case of beer in his backpack. OK, it was stuffed with cold metal objects consistent with 12oz cans, but at a certain point presumption is enough.

> Maybe the fact that he is known be a gun
> owner had something to do with this,

This actually was brought up by a heckler and he stated that he never carries arms to speaking events.

> a potential pie-thrower would have to
> seriously be worried about getting his
> butt kicked by his target. More cowardice?

One shouldn't say this, but the first pie thrower would likely have discovered the concept of "citizen's arrest"....

Things haven't changed
I can see that things are still pretty much the same in Happy Valley since I graduated from UMass in 1973. I guess I've never understood the intolerance of the left to opposing ideas.

The major difference between left and right is that the left wants to shout you down if they disagree while the right wants to debate your ideas.

One thing I do remember about UMass is that so many of the students there weren't the brightest candles on the cake. And some of the professors weren't much better.

Mass holes
It is a brown hole, like a black hole of incredible energy collapsing in on itself, it is a mass of incredible hatred collapsing in on itself.

It is anchored at both ends by the Brown Shorts. One east, in Provincetown way out in the ocean and the other west, in Amherst in the Berkshire mountains.

Good people of Massachusetts flee while there is still a chance.

If you didn't make me laugh, I'd cry
Great Article! I was floored by the reality and the daunting task that secularism has placed before the American mind. The fact that there is a lack of fair and robust debate and the only avenue of that secularist take is the one of cruel name calling and other violent activity. You opened my eyes as a black person to info. that I would never had learned in school. Thank you Mr. Adams. I won't ever be the same.

Pity them, they know not what they do
No one can serve two Masters. It is obvious which these "students" serve, whether they are fully cognizant of their Service or not. Surely afterward Satan said, "Well done MyChildren, well done."

well now
Farmer’s Wife: I wonder the same thing. Nothing I write is extravagant yet very little tolerance is ever afforded me. That’s the way some people are. There is plenty of anger and hate exhibited in the posts and it comes from all sides.

Beowulf: I wish you were writing in my defense. I receive the text version of being shouted down often. When I present an opposing view, most folks counter my position with theirs, but some use only insults and derision. I don’t think they are Democrats though.

Jimbo: Your comment is similar in style to the people who heckled Dr. Adams. How do you reconcile yourself to this? Let us consider: I called no one a liar nor did I disagree with much accept the hype over the situation. What I truly don’t agree with is unabated bashing of higher education. As I asked earlier, is there no good to be found? Yes, I question Dr. Adams’ seriousness because he often resorts to humor to make his point.

More to my point is whether I saw the videos. Yes, of course. I saw the videos and frankly, they weren’t that bad. The guys in drag were silly and the ones wearing mask were chicken. Any speaker as dynamic as Dr. Adams could have handled them and defused their “protest” easily. The Q & A was disappointing, but only because it was so poorly handled. Now compare this with what was written. If they were part of some ‘radical groups bent on destroying America’ then we can all rest easy. They obviously aren’t. Some protesters were described as ‘much like the Hitler Youth in Nazi Germany’. If anyone takes this seriously, then they are the ones who should watch some videos about Nazi Germany. And how many really wore a Red Star? Consider further than just the videos. The ‘Planned Parenthood’ question was not a question but another statement of specific opinion that fits too conveniently into the Nazi theme. Body odor? I actually believe that, but what of it? The implication is that somehow it is a personal failing that is unique to the protesters. That is simply wrong. Then take the closing comment about Amherst, Massachusetts. If the same words were used by Senator Kerry about some place in Mississippi then most folks around here would go ballistic.

Mike is a well known provocateur. As such he has to live with the reality of facing hostile crowds. That may not be fair, but that’s life. There are many ways to deal with such situations. If Dr. Adams actually wants to make a difference then he must use these ways when confronted. If Dr. Adams wants only to stir up controversy or make personal profit from such situations then all he has to do is sit back and write an article. Without being a ‘practicing denialist’, can anyone tell me what choice he made?

Deskmom: “Duh”? Seriously?

My Nightmare
I just awoke from a nightmare in which Kimberly was a niece of mine with that first name. Please tell us a little more about yourself, Kim, so I can hopefully rule out that horrible possibility.

question for Kimberly
Are you proud of what those kids did?

One word answer, please - yes or no.

Dr. Adams
UMASS hasn't changed much. I was there 1978-1982 and had my brush with leftist thinking. What drew me back was when G. Gordon Liddy spoke. He was harrassed but was allowed to give as good as he got. He finally invited the loudest heckler up on stage and just destroyed him in a debate. It really was something. Unfortunately, the whackos learned and no longer allow other points of view.

Jimbo
There are lots of people just like Kimberly where I live and work. It's unbelievable. And they really believe the sewage that spews from their mouths.

I recently received an amazing amount of disgust and hate when I dared to refute a coworker's claim that Clinton was a wonderful president. Ha! I was verbally slammed because I'm a young woman who is NOT a feminist (therefore not a man eating cazy Biotch) and not a hard core liberal.

Kimberly is like a lot of people on the West coast; homegrown eco-wackjobs

Mass Resident wishes to apologize
Mike, I am so sorry you were treated this way the other night. And as a taxpayer here in Mass, I realize I'm an accomplice to this crime. I'm on the North Shore about two hours away, and I had jotted down your event on my calendar, but with kids and a job there was no way I could make it. Now I'm glad I didn't.

What kills me is that this mentality is so pervasive in our state-- 85% of the legislature is Democratic and the majority of the names on my ballot two weeks ago were uncontested "D's."

With 'De-valued' Patrick as our new Moonbat governor, we'll now be giving away scholorships to UMASS to illegal imigrants, by the way.

After seeing the clips of how these spoiled rotten little lefty moonbats behave, I guess the tuituion rate De-value espouses is very close to matching the market value of a UMASS degree unfortunately.

MikeR
You have not received the text version of being shouted down. You are allowed to post everything you wish to say in full.

The text version of being shouted down is what takes place at liberal sites like DailyKos and Democratunderground, where posters are blocked as soon as the webmasters determine they are conservative.

I had a dream in 1947
I was hearing the words of Thomas Jefferson taken out of context and used in the court decision Everson v. Board of Education. Then I heard another phrase from the same Thomas Jefferson: “My confidence is that there will for a long time be virtue and good sense enough in our countrymen to correct abuses.” And it dawned on me that 1776 until 1947 was "a long time" and that "virtue and good sense enough in our countrymen to correct abuses” had expired. My dream continued when someone said to Google America's founders with the word virtue to see why "good sense" no longer exits. So I entered: "George Washington" + virtue, "Samuel Adams" + virtue, "Benjamin Rush" + virtue, "Fisher Ames" + virtue, and so on. You will never dream that I found these men were driven by a Biblical worldview.

P.S. to MikeR
The founding fathers enacted the First Amendment in part because they believed that if someone was a fool he should be allowed to speak freely so everyone would know what a fool he was.

You are allowed to post at Townhall.com for the same reason.

This reminds me of....
This reminds me of an incedent where Oliver North was speaking and a college aged feminists blindly attacked him in an effort to shout him down.

North was able to get a word in, and asked her a simple question: "At what aged did your dad leave home and abandon you?"

The girl was reduced to tears as she left the room.

Rotten fruit of the 60s
These little narrow minded twerps are just the spawn of their narrow minded breeders. I imagine that UMass isn't a cheap university. If I were Mommy or Daddy and saw my little precious baby acting like a horse's a** instead of studying (which is what universities were founded for, right?), you can bet that the money train would dry up and they'd get to work at 7-11 or WalMart at minimum wage so that they could wake up to what life is really all about. When I was their age I had a wife and daughter, went to school full time and worked 30 hours a week to support my family. Didn't have time to cross dress and act like a spoilt brat. The problem is that the "parents" of these kool-aid drinking droolers didn't apply the belt enough to teach them respect...And then they wonder why their kids don't appreciate them or show them any respect, just call for money...

question...
...why do conservatives oppose liberals having abortions?

I was there
I was also there at his University of New Hampshire speech. The UNH speech was also protested, but they were more respectful and waited until the Q&A to ask him questions that were far more constructive. I drove all the way from Boston to Amherst (2+ hours) to see Mike Adams because I read his columns. When I got to the room, there seemed to be almost as many protestors as regulars.

This article is NOT satirical. Everything he described is true. My girlfriend and I had to move to the back of the room because the crowd was on the brink of initiating violence. It's typical of these punks to act this way.

I've been to counter-protests (ProtestWarrior.com) and these "tolerant" "diverse" folks have assaulted me, spit on me, ripped my signs down, etc. all while calling me an "intolerant Nazi". Well, at least I'm tolerant enough to leave THEM alone and I'm no Nazi, they invaded my country (Czechoslovakia).

As for the protestors at Mike's speech, they really managed to ruin to event. They didn't listen to anything he said, even though at the UNH event many of the protestors ended up agreeing with him. These punks at UMass just shouted, shook their heads, interrupted him, etc. It was typical, low class, childish behaviour from some very ignorant close minded people. These same kids could be found in my home country 20 years ago; violently pushing their Communist agenda. Sad.

All in all, keep up the good work Mike and I hope you can visit Boston, MA sometime. We actually have some Libertarians and Ayn Rand Objectivists in the People's Republic of Cambridge.

MikeR and Kimberly
Considering the tone of this whole thread has been to decry the lack of tolerance at UMASS, the general attacks on MikeR have been much more intense than called for. On the one hand we said, "Ain't it awful what those dingbat liberals did to Dr. Mike." On the other hand MikeR was attacked for his very toned down comments implying that maybe the story was enhanced a bit for effect. Are we becoming what we fear and dislike the most?

As for Kimberly; let's not make the mistake of believeing she is typical. We may not like libs and she may come across as a total airhead, but she is not typical. When thinking of liberals I try to keep in mind a comment I heard in an old John Wayne movie (talking about indians), "It's when you can't see or hear them that you have to start worrying." We don't have to worry about the loud mouth libs that act like fools, few would ever want to be like them. What are the quiet ones up to?

Account from Republican Club Member
This article and comments posted are accurate. Unfortunately, what isn't included is all the trouble before the event even started. Numerous times, the microphones were grabbed, unauthorized students went up to the podium, etc. Students who decided hijack AV equipment misused 'free speech' as their permission. When I asked one of the women what the black face covering was for and whether it symbolized something -- out of genuine curiosity, she fired back 'What is your tie for? Does it symbolize something?' I didn't have the patience to further communicate. On top of that, an organizer of an anti-war teach-in came into the room and announced that people should leave and come to her event. Unbelievable. This was before the event even started.

Come to think of it, my tie does symbolize something: class. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware what was about to ensue and didn't have ample time to advise the open-minded, but liberal, students in the room to wear one. I wish I had because it would help them distinguish themselves from the rude, obnoxious, ignorant (of the 1st amendment), poorly dressed (or cross-dressed), group of young men and women who put on such a shameful show of poor judgment and colossal ignorance.

Pistol
"The game started when Kim's posts started getting blanked before i could scroll past them"

I've told you before that the same exact thing happens to me. Sometimes, I even black out when scrolling past the responses.

More Video
If anybody that was at the speech has video of the entire event, please upload it somewhere and provide us a link. I'd love to see everything the protesters did that Adams didn't write about.

Behavior doesn't reflect all UMass grads
I actually grew up in Amherst and escaped Massachusetts years ago. It used to be a beautiful little town, not perfect by any means but I found it a pleasant place to grow up. I’m sorry this incident happened, but am not at all surprised since this appears to be the level of discourse taught at today’s state schools.
My Dad was a Professor at Zoo-Mass for many years and believe it or not he was very conservative. In fact, at that time (early 80s) many of the old-time Profs were conservatives, even in the liberal arts. As at other campuses, as these profs retired they were replaced with the idiots whose teachings you saw on display.
Though I earned technical undergrad and graduate degrees from this school years ago, I rarely admit it. I do not want to be associated with the brainwashed idiots attending in recent years. These freaks devalue the work of all of the talented professors, researchers and alumni who make the schools technical programs so successful. Mr Adams please continue your speaking engagements, maybe one day one of these creatures will actually listen.

Isn't America Grand
I find it interesting that Mike Adams generates so much fan mail.

I do have issue with both sides arguing Mike's commentary. I spent 26 years in the military defending the right to free speech, even Kimberly's. Supposed conservative inputs are almost as vitrolic as hers, so one's position may be different, but the display is the same.

It is a shame that some on both sides of the ideological debate seem pretty mindless, but I will defend to the death their freedom to express their opinion. Isn't America grand.

Kimberly
I see you believe that "Some People are MORE eual than others!"

For a complete and concise view of what Political Correctness will bring us, read 1984.

For a complete and conise view of what a Living Constitution will bring us read Animal Farm.

However, since those two books are alegorical, I do not expect you to understand the message.

Jerry writes...
22 years, US Navy. I agree totally!!

Disruptive Behaviors
The world has seen these types of behaviors before. One of the more recent past displays occurred when the fascist Brownshirts were trashing beerhalls in Munich pre 1933. A decade and a half before that, the world was treated to the sight of the Bolsheviks, led by Lenin and Trotsky, storming the Russian Duma. Neither event, in retrospect, did the world much good.
Hindsight always tends to be perfect, especially when you're looking back over fields littered with fifty million bodies.
But this type of liberal behavior is becoming more and more common lately. I remind you of a similar treatment afforded the Minuteman founder at Columbia U and the treatment handed out to Ann Coulter at UMass's sister school, the University of Connecticut at Storrs last winter, all three events are part of an intolerant liberal mindset.
This mindset was present as far back as the Clinton era, when a liberal female upstate New York resident, upset about the presence of a conservative element in her local government, wrote to the editors of her favorite ladies magazine offering to commit an immoral, indecent, and obscene act upon the then President if he would just rid her local government of its conservatives so the entire country's government could be "run by right kind of people from the top down."

Liberal hippies make me sick
If I have to read one more story about hippies disrupting a conservative event, I'm just going to vomit. These are the people who think that all Mexicans should be made American citizens and Osama Bin Laden should be our president, and if Joseph Stalin weren't dead, they would probably be supporting HIM for president just like their parents did. I mean, seriously, they need to grow up and get a job, and start paying taxes, and then they'll know what idiots they used to be.

Could the students, such as pirate
confirm one detail we cannot get from the video? Did the place stink of hippy musk like Dr. Adams says?

I'm betting it did.

jaydee
Why is it that the pigs are the more equal ones? Oh well, as long as we can keep them from controlling the dog, we'll all be fine.

The hypocrisy of the left
I know, it's like beating a dead horse.

Q: Why is it okay for leftists to exercise their free speech to infringe on the free speech of others, and then cry foul (CENSORSHIP! I'M BEING OPRESSED!) when those with whom they disagree do the same through free-market or channels?

A: Because they don't REALLY believe in any of the concepts on which the USA was founded. They don't believe in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights- unless they are using them as weapons with which to assault their opponents. And they most certainly don't believe in democracy.

And, of course, since vague concepts like "linear thought" and "reason" lie beyond their grasp, the irony of their behavior escapes them.

What is it with the two coasts?
I was born, raised and still live on the Third Coast (Gulf Coast) and I'm telling you it ain't the salt air. But there has just got to be something about those other two coasts that make people...I don't know, not stupid, but maybe just ungrateful?, disrespectful?, mentally blind?...I just don't know. If you don't agree with the man, fine hear him out and then nail him to the wall with some reasoned and well worded and thought out questions or comments. This type of behavior just proves you have no foundation for your beliefs.

This makes me even happier my son is going to A&M, he may be an Aggie but at least his brain won't be cross-threaded.

Question for Kimberly
Proud of the students "tolerance" and thier respect for the first ammendment?

Questions for Jerry
Will defend to the death some people's disrupting the presentations of those with whom they disagree? As to the both sides are bad argument, please tell us the last time you heard about a leftist/collectivist/socialist speaker at a University being shouted down, disrupted, cussed at and physically assaulted. Adams wasn't assaulted but other conservative speakers have been, regularly. Thank you for your service to your Country.

Dang Hippies Need to be Locked Up

"why do conservatives oppose liberals having abortions?"

Because life is sacred for us, even if it is a life of a liberal.

my dream
I HAVE A DREAM

That the parents of those kids saw the video or tape or whatever of what happened and (I would settle for) one of them says "that's it. That is the LAST check I write for that kid. If he wants to go to college and act like that he/she can dam* well pay for it himself!"

Is that too much to ask?

probably

Cynewulf...
Ooooooooooooh, he DID see a puddy tat!

CPT Freedom question to Jerry...
Now I don't know Jerry and I'm not sure I can speak for him, but I think he might say, "...defend to the death their right to freedom of expression...up to the point that they break the law."

That's what sets us apart from the lefties who believe their view is the only view and no other view should be tolerated.

As my ol' Pappy used to say, "Your right to swing your fist ends one inch from my nose. Then my right to take reasonable and calculated action in response to your poor judgement begins."

Evidence
This is what we get when we allow teachers from other countries to teach our youth. No matter how brilliant they are, they still can not evade their upbringing.
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

It proves itself. Lack of primary school teaching that puts forth the Word has caused this problem. How do we fix it..
It is not amazing that the ones doing the screaming and hollering are the homosexuals, transvestites, transsexuals, and others that wish to force their beliefs and lifestyle on the rest of us by corrupting our youth. Now we have to deal with Islam making inroads supported by the educational system of today, while Father God and Jesus and His commandments are striped from being taught. Sadness fills my heart.

The Clock is Ticking
The Commodore & his Lady unto Townhall: greetings.

Why does the Commodore still look at that volcano in the Cape Verde Islands?

When that volcano's western face rumbles into the Atlantic Ocean, and spins off the resultant tsunami, it will hit every town on the Atlantic West Coast, from Halifax, Nova Scotia, all the way down to Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands.

The Commodore uses this story to illustrate the cold anger these "students" have against their peers who work for a living. And he, in turn, has a cold anger against said "students".

Fortunately, there is a reaction coming, like unto Thermidor. And that reaction will happen when the Social Security System goes into Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Act. (By then the Commodore will be "with the Lord.") These kids don't know the meaning of the terrible times they are going to undergo; they think $$ will buy them out.

Unfortunately, they haven't read accounts of the German Hyperinflation of 1923; they think it is just one of Adams' tales. The German community in Cincinnati know differently; many of their relatives had to live in Deutschland during those times. The Lucky Ones got sponsored into "Zinzinnati" and were spared the horrors of one Adolf von Schickelgruber. The not so lucky ones ended up dodging the RAF & the 8th USAF. Or Marshal Zhukov and the Red Army.

It is only a matter of time. We can escape it; Google your way to Billy Graham's website.

Dear Clock is Ticking
They know nothing of German Hyperinflation, they know nothing of where this country has been, nor where it came from.
A few years back I asked a graduate of the zip code 06611 high school system what the rationale was behind the Memorial Day holiday and got the following answer "It's the day we celebrate taking the covers off our swimming pools" with a perfectly straight face and in all seriousness.
The NEA is perfectly content to turn out clones of Colorado high school teacher Jay Benish as far as the eye can see.
Unfortunately the lifespan of the democratic United States of America may not extend out as far as a result.

Grapes and CPT Freedom question
I am not convinced that any law, imposed by appropriate legislative act or activist judges, necessarily imposes on me limits for whom I will die to protect a fundamental right, endowed by the Creator.

Obviously, for the greater good, calling 'fire' in a crowded building when no fire exists is the act of a, likely, mentally imbalanced person who seeks attention at the expense of others. Would I die for that person's freedom, I'm not sure. I swore to protect the constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. A particular cencorship clause, for some particular reason, I can't find there.

What often separates liberals from conservatives is how much life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness is valued as individual inalienable rights. I would argue that conservatives tend to support that proposition much more fervently than liberals.

I am not the judge, to decide who's freedom I should value and whose I should not. I am committed to the principles that make this country great, and I will continue to do so.

Farmers wife/sane debates
The differing strains of so called conservatism can't even have a sane debate or intelligent discussion on a conservative opinion website.

We are dealing with a pack of wild young adults--children who never learned how to think or behave due to the failings of 12 years of public school.

$
I see that there is much debate at TH, but I don't see any deep divisions on the hope, love, and need to save our America, except for the occasional Liberal minded troll.

As for me, I was educated in public schools, until I dropped out at 17 (no, I wasn't pg either) and married the love of my life, for the last 40 years.
That is not to say that education isn't important. It is important, but not always at schools of so called higher education. I am still being educated, I learn something new every day.

How sad..
There are tears in my eyes as I am reading this article by Dr Adams .
Not placing him anywhere near Jesus..but I can recall the Scriptures speaking of the time just before the crucifixion and how Jesus was spat upon, humiliated and tormented because of His beliefs and because of who He is.
Does God hate the feminists, I think not, just as He does not hate the gays. The Bible states to love the sinner but to hate the sin and I believe that Dr Adams as myself hate the sin..And these things are sin..no matter how you slice it..
I believe that the reactions from these people is spiritual not mortal..I believe that there is a spiritual battle going on right now in our schools and colleges with the souls of our childen at stake.
I also believe that the end times are near and satan wants to take as many of our kids with him as he can. Why do you think so many kids commit
suicide every year. They feel they have no hope.
Just take a look at who their examples and mentors are.....................

We (or at least I) already know. He will expand his collection of .45 ACPs with a 1911-A1 Micro Compact by Springfield. It comes direct from the factory with Novak night sights. I just wonder if this gig paid enough to buy the optional light rail (XML min-light included) for an extra $66.

Reads more like a transcript to me...
The only thing tongue-in-cheek in Adams' column is the second sentence. The rest could more accurately be described as a transcript. If you don't believe me, watch the YouTube videos and judge for yourself. The only thing missing that could have made the protesters more infantile was if one of them stood up and called Adams "Mr. Poopy Pants" and then sat down with a smug I-rest-my-case look on their face. Then we could all watch as their eventual careers ascend to really important positions...like the DNC or Speaker of the House...armed with such awe-inspiring rhetorical skills.

I call this "the 200 dB school of debate." I.e, when you run out of facts (or have none to begin with) just scream at the top of your lungs, equating volume with logic.

It's debacles like this that convince me more than ever that "Critical Thinking and Debating Skills 101" should be *mandatory* for the attainment of a college degree. But of course that will never happen. Rote is apparently more important than reasoning...as long as it is leftist rote. I'm ashamed that we are turning anyone out of our secondary education systems that are this inarticulate, regardless of their political bent.

But then, the less charitable part of me wants to see us the Left continue to muddle around with little more than volume, repetition, and bumper stickers to promote their ridiculous postures. After all, why not continue breeding weakness in your opponent? That's why, on second thought, perhaps we should make such a "101" class mandatory only for conservatives. But then again, most conservative college students I've been aquainted with, wouldn't need such a course. Reasoning is already a skill in which they are proficient.

Marxist Fundamentalists
I once was exiled out of my native and beloved Middle West, and for my sins (I was briefly a yuppie) had to live in the vicinity of Amherst there in the Peoples' Democratic Republic of Marxachusetts. I looked at U Mass' catalog for some political philosophy courses, but there did not seem to be any. I guess the prevailing attitude there is: "Marx said it. I believe it. And, that settles it.

Memories

The approach is nothing really new, in terms of rote regirgitation.

Back in the late 60's , a young liberal woman and I ( ROTC cadet) were in a Sociology class. The "teacher" gave a test that we both thought had "thought" questions. Despite being "right" and "left" both of our tests had bunches of red marks and in the margin "not my answers"

Well said!
Isn't it fantastic to see the Scriptures fullfilled in our sight? People who do not believe in God's prophecy are really missing it!

Kimberly
Your problem with the articles that Dr. Adams write is you are to well brainwashed to understand what he is saying. Also with your always bashing Ann Colter. You must be very ugly because you are jealous of Ann. You are always saying things that you hope will run her down but you don't have the slightest idea on how to do it correctly. Dr. Adams has more brains than you will ever have, because with the lefties they are so brainwashed they don't know how to think.

Drive-by Poster?
Today marks my first day reading comments and making any posts to TH, so I'm not realy familiar with the "usual crowd" here. I do note that Kimberly fired the first salvo over the bow regarding this column, but then didn't bother to substantiate any of her arguments or reply to anyone who dared to question her assertions. Since I'm not a regular, is this typical of her?

I don't have much respect for anyone -- regardless of their political persuasion -- that is a drive-by poster. Put on the gloves and defend yourself rather than lobbing a grendade into the ring and then sneaking out the back door. It's cowardly.

Ahh....
We're all thinking it... might as well say it:

Liberalism/Socialism MUST be an hereditary birth-defect!

Abortions
That 51 million abortions will already been performed by sometime in 2007 is truly staggering. This easily surpasses the total of all the murderous despots that reigned in the 20th Century.

The works of Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao Tse Tung pale in comparison to what NARAL has been able to accomplish.

Expat_Canuck
Can we assume that the 51M abortions respresent the same number of mommys and daddys. It seems more likely that a whole bunch of those mommys and daddys think abortion is the best method of birth control.

Welcome to the "Comments" section of Townhall.

You are obviously a quick study. Just some notes on Kimberly:

She (?) is usually the first person to comment on columns written by Mike Adams, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin and a host of others (although she seems to have a particular fondness for the women columnists... not sure why).

It is not unusual for her to drop a comment and disappear, only to reappear much later in the day. When she does reappear, since there has usually been several posts addressed to her by then, she'll pick the posts that are the least tolerant and respond to those. Only on a very rare occasion will she actually debate a strong argument.

For example... you will note that several posters have called her out on her claim that Ann Coulter is on Mike Adams' required reading list. If I know my "Kimmy", she'll claim Coulter USED to be on Adams' list but that he's now taken her off his list to deflect criticism... or she'll provide a "link" to some liberal website that "shows" Coulter on Adams' list... purely bogus nonsense.

Some think "Kimberly" is really one person editing and posting talking points being supplied to her from moveon.org or some other 527 group... and that she gets a paycheck for doing so.

One thing I can say about Drive-By Kim... she knows how to stir up the room!

- Primus54

P.S. Some other liberal posters to be on the lookout for: Left Angle, Phylo Se Fizer, Donaldd, r0-d2, Anti-Partisan Righty and a few others who will become apparent over time. Enjoy!

re: Abortions
Hi Farmer's Wife;

You're absolutely right, but in this I blame NARAL specifically and liberals in general. They have for years denied the humanity of the unborn child, deliberately referring to a foetus as 'adipose tissue' or 'excess uterine matter', anything except as an unborn child capable of feeling pain or pleasure. Western society and liberals in particular are self obsessed to the point where the unborn are more often looked upon as a burden rather than as a gift from God.

Still the sheer magnitude of the needless deaths is staggering beyond belief.

Schools
I would like to put forth here that I am 'German/French/Irish American'.
I am caucasian. I am a member of the Body of Christ. I am a graduate of a black university. Myself and about 10 others attended college as a minority.
Now,,the university I attended had some of the nicest, helpful, God loving, teachers and staff that I have ever met since graduating high school. My high school refused to remove Jesus from the daily regimen. Most, if not all of the teachers attempted to make sure that every student that attended there had a church to attend. We were given little red New Testament bibles and read a few verses every morning. We prayed at athletic events. When I was young we complained that Louisiana was last in everything, but now I am glad we were, for even if our school system was usually behind every other state and our Parish was behind every other Parish,,we were introduced to Jesus almost every day of our elementary and high school life.
The college I attended regularly had prayer meetings and virtually no one was shy about discussing the Word and what God can and will do for us. We were not hastled for praying on the quad and I praise the Lord for that.
If all schools would operate in this fashon, we would not have the difficulties we are having.
By the way: I graduated high school in 1976 and graduated college in 2001, so there are still a few public schools that are hanging in there..

Re: Isn't America Grand
Jerry, thank you for your years of selfless service to your fellow countrymen. I did just over 23 years in AF(Nam era), USN(Desert Storm I era) and ARNG (Desert Storm II era) before finally pulling the plug. Like you, I will defend to the death their freedom to make complete and utter a**es of themselves.

"Listening" to some of the posters tends to cause me stress, which I define as the mind overcoming the body's desire to slap the living crap out of some a**hole who desperately deserves it.

UMass
Enough is enough with these communist bastards at liberal Universities like U Mass. They're like the crazy Muslim extremist, there can be no rational negotiation with them. The time has come for us conservatives to combat these fools before they destroy our country. We must fight fire with fire. They need to be destroyed by whatever means possible. They can't be dealt with any longer through the laws because with the liberal democrats in charge they will never be punished. Like terrorists these radicals must be removed from American society. They have been using intimidation to scare us for forty years and now its time we intimidated them with force.

college education... joke.
Perhaps if these college students had a little more common sense, what Dr. Adams said would have made sense. Everything he said was true, but liberal communists hate to hear the truth because then they have no where to hid their evil selfish ways. Dr. Adams is one of the few who shine the "flash light" on these people, and like little bugs, they scramble away all pissed off that someone exposed them for what they are.

HAMAS in the Grad Dorm
Did I ever mention that UMass has (or at least had last I was aware) an active HAMAS chapter in its graduate dorm?

Does anyone find this at least a little bit problematic?

Welcome to UMass....

Mike at it again
I love reading Mike Adams. While I do feel sorry for him, he is a big boy and knew what would happen when he went there. The sad part is the state of the schools of "higher learning". I attended the University of Rhode Island in the 1990's and as a military member at the time caught a lot of grief from classmates who were much more liberal than I. I just wrote it off to stupidity and moved on. Their behavior hasn't changed in that area I see.

jerubaal
Thought your part was "the horse kicking the girly-men in the head..."

Hypocracy as an art form
OK. Thanks everyone for the insight. I'll give Kimberly the benefit of the doubt and assume that she logs in early (i.e. she's on the East Coast) and then goes to work and can't read/post until she gets home later in the day. That may explain the large time gap when/if she responds to a given topic. Or then again, maybe she's truly a drive-by and doesn't stick around because one well-reasoned gust will tear her sails to shreds. I'll go with answer #2 Alex.

Obviously, the comments section shouldn't be exclusive to just one point of view (conservatism) and I enjoy the debate that ensues when both sides of an issue are presented...but with one caveat: they must be presented with some semblance of a rational thought process. And since we're on the topic of tolerance beginning with her post, I'll tell you what I'm *not* real tolerant of: people that stick out their tongue, make a pronouncement (e.g. "you're a bigot!"), and then stomp away. Translation: "I'm so right that I don't *need* to defend my posture."

So, if Kimberly is reading this and wants a seat at the table...no problem. Use manners, use reason, use logic, and use facts to the extent they are accessible. I think the facts were abundantly available on this issue to anyone willing to watch a 60-second video. And although I happen to agree with many of his viewpoints, I'm not asking for a debate on Mr. Adams' viewpoints here. What I'm asking for is a debate on HIS RIGHT TO EXPRESS THEM without harrassment.

The behavior exhibited by those students was the equivalent of plugging their ears and yelling "LA LA LA LA." "Students of Integrity?" Maybe in some parallel universe, but not the one I inhabit. I would say "Students of Duplicity" is more accurate.

And that is what concerns me here: the hypocracy...the breathtaking double-standard by these kids who undoubtedly fancy themselves as having the franchise on "tolerance." It reminds me of that old Steve Martin stand-up routine: "ALWAYS...no wait...I mean NEVER." Just substitute the words tolerance/intolerance for always/never and then freely apply to any subject you personally find unpalatable wherever application of the first ammendment is concerned.

It's easy. It's fun. It's liberalism.

anti-socialist
That'd be pretty cool. I could give this look like, "what are you doing back there funny boy" followed by my whinny and his screaming death.

@Hockey Goon
Whoops. I remember that column now.

Still can't figure why you'd buy a micro-compact pistol and then muck it up with a light rail.

If you want something concealable, buy the Springfield. If you want a platform for gizmos, buy a Desert Eagle.

...just one shooter's opinion.

By the way...
Isn't inviting Dr. Mike to speak about feminism the equivalent of inviting Sarah Brady to talk about marksmanship?

Law and order
What happened to having people arrested for disorderly conduct?

U of Madness
Some of my lifelong friendships were formed at UMass from 71-75, and things were somewhat wild, even back then. My friends, who still live in the state, forbid their children from attending the university where we all graduated, and I refuse to send money when the university calls every year. I can't get past the idea that I would be flushing my green down the toilet.

Suggestion:
Why don't some of you who are alumni or just not in school and don't have anything to lose register for a class taught by one of the liberal professors. My husband won't let me because he still teaches at a major midwestern university, and he says he is harrassed enough as it is. But the day he retires, I am signing up. I can't wait to be the squeaky wheel!

Not for the faint of heart
I tried to post this and it didn't work. So I am trying it again. Anyone ever thought about enrolling as a student in one of the liberal classes? If you have graduated and cannot be blackmailed by grades, you might enjoy exercising YOUR freedom of speech. How fun!

How deliciously eeeevil!

U of Madness
Of course Kimberly is real and lives in Mass. There are millions of her ilk in Mass. What else would explain the election of the congressional representatives that that state elects. Like mike says "somewhere in america" go figure.

Planet U-Mass
The behavior that was put on display during your speech clearly demonstrates the lack of any intellectualism whatsoever that has permeated most of our college campuses since at least the 1950s. When a fake professor and illiterate babbler such as Ward Churchill can be promoted to the position of Department Head at a major state university, you know that any semblance of sanity has long ago disappeared from our system of higher education.

Primus re:nv mr mom
You neglected to mention the resident "truthers", ajhil and tanabear. Always good for a chuckle.

Unas Morus Timus
If a person does not desire to respect a speaker, whether they agree with the speaker or not, then don't go to the assembly. If the assembly is required for a grade in a class, as many were when I attended college, then sit down, shut up and take a nap or read a book or something that does not disturb the assembly. To me this is common curtesy.

Mankind in general are rude, crude, hateful animals so without something to change that they become worse than the animals of nature.
Selah

Romans
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man; and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,
25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,
30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;
32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Hello there, heatherradish....:-)
You have made a great point! Absolute truth for liberals is what THEY say is true.

For liberals, "Bush lied" is absolute truth.

For liberals, an unborn child is not really human. Forcing a woman (or girl) to carry a child to term is an absolute sin.

For liberals, Republican misdeeds are absolute truth. Mark Foley is absolutely evil. Tom DeLay is evil. George W. Bush is evil because he values human life (an absolute sin in the eyes of liberals).

For liberals, Bill Clinton's sexuaL escapades are "no one's business". Barney Frank's prostitution parties at his apartment are, well, yawn. Ted Kennedy's leaving a woman to drown is, well, yawn. William Jefferson's freezer moolah, is , yawn.

To liberals, all morality is relative, all truth is relative, all ethics are determined by the situation. That ideology allows them to ignore the Bible, the Constitution, police officers, teachers, parents and any other "inconvenient" authority.

University or Middle Eastern Madrasa???
I really can't tell that there is much of a difference between the kind of America hatred that is preached in the Middle East and that what is preached in American universities. this hatred's catalyst, is ignorance.

Hi, DaieDaie....:-)
There it is, in God's Holy Word, in black and white.

For people who wish to check out scripture, they may log on to http://www.crosswalk.com. The whole Bible is there, in several different translations (even the Latin Vulgate, for Latin geeks like me!). If you type in a key word, the Biblical reference will come up. It's neat!

I'd better go to bed!!
It's late!!!!

Hello to you RxLady:-)
Crosswalk is very cool indeed. So is BibleGateway. I have used both. My preference is QuickVerse. For me it is easier to locate Scriptures that I know, but have trouble remembering exactly where it is in the text.
I can't read any language but Angleish.
God bless.

Stan47
Your weapon advice is logical and indicates a cool clear mind, doubtless accompanied by sterling character traits. I could have just said i agree, but have time to type out the long version. However, you may not be aware of an element Hockey Goon considered. Mike A is far from a one gun fellow. He may well already have a favored carry gun, and a home defense piece, so actually the only real logic applying here is what looks cool, can he show off something to his friends, just before Mike goes to sleep does he chuckle to himself heh heh heh I've finally got my SW Colt automatic revolver with the triple column mag and Eagle Claw double deadly ammo. At least that's the only excuse i have to buy another gun. I have to limit myself to purchases i know i can resell for no loss. Life is cruel.

Well, Mike
You reap what you sow. People treat you like you treat people in your columns. That's it.

That's Really Insightful Boris
People really do treat you exactly like you treat them. I guess that explains why, at least according to homosexuals, they are hated, feared, and discriminated against for merely being normal. Because in reality, they hate, fear, and discriminate against heterosexuals because straight people are normal.

Pistol
I myself prefer a 20ga pump combat and a Desert Eagle .357. The M1 Garrand is a sweet shootin baby, also. My Dad had one when I was a kid..Killed my first deer with it. I would love to have a 57, but they are only for military or cops. A good ole black powder .44 is badd too. Plus the ammmo is easy to get.

DaieDaie
This 57 you refer to, do you mean the S&W model 57 revolver? I have a weakness for cartridges no one else seems to care for. I own a model 57 caliber .41 Magnum. The .41 i shoot is my Ruger Redhawk. Its easy care stainless and i like the longer barrel. I've been tinkering with getting a Ruger Old Army black powder. They are what...44?, .458?

Stan47:
The SW Colt auto revolver is cool, but you have the triple column mag makes it even more deadly!
I just bought a speedloader for my break-action Luger derringer.

The Draft
I think these so called students are a great reason for a draft. This is the only time I have agreed with Rangle. Get them in the service where they just might learn some dignity and selfworth (I know I'm going to hear it from the Moonbats) about our baby killers (as if abortion didn't do that) but P*** on them.

I'm not that big on compact .45s at all, if you want a small concealable handgun buy a .38 snubnose and be done with it. My wife has just settled on an old .32 H&R that I "picked up" a few weeks back (does a poker game qualify as a FFL transaction?). Two months and we have CCW in Kansas.

The army serves one purpose, to defend the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. Conscripting millions of children similar to those at UMass (domestic enemies?) would only hamper the Army's ability to do its job. Not to mention the fact that Rangle's Bill gave a specific "out" for those children of privilege, by allowing them to "serve" in other areas such as the "Peace Corps".

Close, its a .457 ball. They are nice looking weapons.

I prefer the Uberti copy of the 1875 Remington in .44/40. After you shoot it empty you could still "disable" someone by throwing it at them.

boris' logic
Boris, I think you would need to produce evidence that Adams went to a liberal speech and dressed in drag (unbathed) screaming and chanting to support your argument.

Why are you liberals so very bad at logical argument?

Ah, watch the two "you tube" videos for the answer!

Same Old UMass...Same Old Joke
Just weighing in w/ the ashamed fellow alumni. I’m glad to see that other alums are just as embarrassed of this “institution of higher education” as I am. (At least the tuition was cheap! =)). Anyway, I completely agree with what you have all said, much of the student body is just an embarrassment. I have seen the actions of students through out my years of attendance (I actually went to class and not to protest rallies) and they are among the most ridiculous and childish antics I will probably ever see in my life…rude, ignorant hypocrites. I graduated a little more recently than some of the other alums (’02), my senior year started off with the 9-11 attacks…I can not even begin to describe the anti–American feeling on that campus the days following the attacks and the blame Bush bullsh*t. People still did not know if there loved ones were alive or dead and the protests and marches began the next day…I could write a book! I think the new school slogan should read: “UMASS: Empty Multiculturalism within Your Reach!” or “UMASS: Feminist Lunacy at it’s Best!”

I do thank UMass for some things though: I have become even more conservative, I will not take verbal abuse from “the party of diversity and tolerance” (I unfortunately work in Cambridge, MA), and joining the Greater Boston Young Republicans. My one regret:I just wish I attended more UM College Republican meetings.

And fellow Alums, when the UMass Alumni Association or whoever else calls for donations simply tell them you have already made your yearly donation…to the UMass College Republicans, the reaction is priceless!!

one thought. . .
There has been a lot of references made to the students as being "kids". I beg to differ, but I'd bet that all of those fools in the audience were at least 18 years of age. That means ADULT. What is most annoying is that my younger brother is leaving in a weeks time to lead a platoon of MEN, many of whom are no older than these students, in the current hostilities in Iraq. My only solice is found in the fact that for every piece of crap that is produced after four years (or more)of socialist, self-hating university education, at least one fine young man is polished into a superior human being after boot camp, ROTC or one of the Armed Services Academies.

On a lighter note: I used to be a police officer who worked at by a liberal, North-Eastern college campus. What, you ask, was more enjoyable than being able to "educate" college students on the finer points of the Penal Law (aka: arrest)? Having the opportunity to "educate" college administrators on the finer points of the Penal Law!

Snot
Your last paragraph has very disturbing implications.

Just thought of this:
"WE AREN'T LIBERTARIANS!"

No shite.

clarification for mike r
Well, Mike R, I would like to know what you mean by "disturbing implications"? I'll assume that you are talking about my work as a cop in a college town. Let me clarify: The college administration treated all students as moronic children who needed to be sheltered, coddled, and insulated from the real world while brainwashing them in a tempest of socialist indoctrination. All the while, they were told that they have limitless rights and entitlements. However, they were not told that these rights come with responsibilities - civil (not to mention ethical) responsibilities. The institution of lower learning also failed to provide these students with the ability to reason logically. As well, most of the academia working and living there felt that they, too, were living in some kind of fantasy zone where rules of law did not exist. So, Mike R, when in the course of my duties (of protecting life and property within the community) I responded to incidents involving unlawful activity, I found that I was "educating" students, faculty and/or staff of the college. For these smug and arrogant law breakers, these incidents were the best education that they would ever receive in the years spent at college. This, of course, is all my personal feeling on the matter. My job performance was never compromised by my opinions, just in case you were worried. And for those few members of the college community who were of the real world, they greatly appreciated the protection, assistance and service that I provided.
By the way, I'm not that old. I went to university shortly before becoming a cop, so I'm not some bitter, crotchety old S.O.B. who dislikes college "kids". I was one myself not too many years ago. Thank God I had parents who gave me a moral anchor to ground me during my four years of forced marxist, self-hating propaganda.

Can't speak for conservatives, but...

Unlike liberals and other religious radicals, people who have "the mind of Christ" understand that God created all people for one reason--to be loved by, and to love, Him. And that He created each of us with the right to choose for ourselves. Even if our parents are liberal or otherwise religious radicals.

The Christian difference is that we value all people, knowing that our Lord Jesus values all people. The Christian difference is that we believe that even these young hooligans may someday understand and accept the grace of God.

p.s. I don't know of any of my liberal friends who mourned over the deaths of Uday and Qusay Hussein or Yasser Arafat. I did.

Don't worry about the liberals
Don't worry about the liberals - they can't REALLY ever take over - they have no trigger control!

I too was there!
I am a College Republican from Western New England College in Springfield, Mass. Everything said about this event is 100% true. Things were so out-of-control that I didn't even make contact with any other CRs before leaving. I left early because i was concerned about my car (labeled with Bush, Romney, and Healey bumper stickers). I had hoped to talk to some fellow CRs after the event, but that wasn't happening clearly!

Mike Adams gave a great speech. Unfortunately it was ruined by some antisocial radicals whose conduct bordered on fascism. I'm glad that local media hero Tommy Devine, a Springfield native, was able to get some video online... Tom is a reformed hippie of sorts and his blog at tomdevine.net is a must-read.

I don't understand where this psuedo-fascism comes from... we had David Horowitz at WNEC Law last year with the exact same result. Luckily WNEC Campus Police were armed and ready to deal with any shenanigans. None of these disrupters (they don't deserve to be called protesters) are liberals in any sense of the word. The liberals I know are conscientious and open to debate, albeit wrong.

The UMass CRs deserve another round of applause for TRYING to bring another voice to campus. Great work guys! It's too bad that some of your fellow students don't have the same level of maturity or commitment to the First Amendment.

Amherst - Female Quear Capital of the US

I visited there once for a couple of days. I am 6'4" weigh 265, have wild "afro" style hair and a very scraggly, bushy beard - and I'm mostly white. Nobody wanted to talk to me for more than a minute - and my deodorant WAS working, though it really didn't need to be. (Also, nobody felt inclined to PROTEST me, though I 95% gentle.)

Rural Mass. is just about as thoroughly "settled" as Paris France and just about as dense. When one's environment is without challenge, one's livlihood without peril, one can be free to resort to such foolishness with relative impunity. The "education" these kids receive there will serve them only so long as they find themselves in very structured, liberal environments like college campi and NYC (or Boston.)

Should they find themselves semi-permanently installed in places like - say, Stryker, Montana or Ilwaco, Washington - their survival instincts better kick in stronger than their "educations" do or they will not fare well. (There are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of towns like these all over the USA. Places like Devils Lake, ND or Staples, MN or Thief River Falls, WI or Paris, TX or Perris, CA or Swaggy Valley, GA or Centerville, KA GA TX OH UT IN IA TN .......... or even Little Valley, CA

(I once got cussed at by an irate cowboy in Little Valley. He mellowed out in a few seconds.)

So will those airheads in Massachussetts - someday.

Pistol
I was talking about the H&K 57..Uses same cartridge as P-90..She be a much bad little popgun. 48 layers of kevlar, snap bang.
Another good one is the old Sharps .45-90..buffler gun. Black powder..Might not penetrate body armour, but would just about break ya in half..Hard to fight ifn ya can't breathe..:-)
Ruger mini M-14 also good..

Pistol & Hocky Goon
A LeMat would be a good one..
Don't get a 36 cal. BP though..don't have enough knockback..I had one and it was really fun to shoot,,but did not have the whallop you would need..
I have always wanted a Rem. or Colt 44-40 with a companion Winchester 44-40 and the loading equipment to go with it..Or a SW 686 with the companion saddle carbine. Had a matte stainless 686 once..smooth..very nice revolver.:-)

Texas Lady
An amendment to that bill should be in place to draft all the troublemakers you were talking about and train them while keeping them separate from the regulars..similar to what was done in WW1 and WW2 in several instances..
Give them discipline and training and straighten them out like the Israelies do..:-)

One More Thought

When it is perceived that there are no consequences to your behavior, why would anyone be inhibited? Who needs manners?

Some people feel it is their duty to teach other people proper manners. Really, it's the parents' job - and near the end of their beautiful little baby's education at their hands - it remains their job to choose a proper place of "higher learning."

Genes have grown pale......

Mike, On les aura! ("We'll get 'em!")
Glad to hear you survived the onslaughts (and odors) of that cretinous racaille at UMass, Mike. Next time you speak there we'll try to arrange for a contingent of the Queen's Own Mounted Hussars to form up outside the lecture-hall and, sabres drawn, simply ride them down!

Civil War coming?
Things are getting so nuts. I am a secondary teacher who is now telling my kids not to go to college. Colleges and many eastern public schools are turning into institutions of higher brainwashing. I have students who I though were reasonable intelligent who have become screaming, slogan chanting, fascists. They will never be productive, rational thinking members of society. THey are not Liberal Progressives but fascist regressive wearing dresses. The sad thing they are now becoming Authority. I am seriously beginnig to believe a new Revolution must begin. I am ready to pick up the rifle.
