Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Last Friday night, I went for a jog to relieve some stress after I found out my department denied my application for full professor. There’s something about being turned down by a diverse committee made up entirely of Democrats that causes a young Republican to search his soul for answers. And, thanks to Muhammad and Abdul, I found them.

I really wasn’t looking for these two proponents of the religion of peace but – all praise to Allah! - they sure found me. Of course, when I saw them riding up on their bicycles, I immediately assumed they were Mormons and picked up the pace. But, as they got nearer, I noticed they were too dark and brawny to be from Utah. So I slowed down to chat for awhile.

Their pitch to me was different from the one I got as a Baptist. Rather than asking me what I planned to do with Jesus, they suddenly pointed their pistols at my head and demanded that I drop to my knees. Fearing a scene reminiscent of the one in Deliverance, I quickly gave my life to Allah. I’ve been a Muslim for nearly three days now. A happier and more peaceful man I’ve never been.

But, alas, my happiness turned to sorrow when I learned of your remarks regarding the great prophet Muhammad, founder of our religion of peace. Your quotation of an ancient text suggesting he was – and Islam is - “evil and inhuman” cannot be ignored. And the Vatican’s weak suggestion that you regret Muslims were offended by the remarks is no apology. Clearly, likeminded Muslims everywhere must respond immediately and disproportionately.

We are beginning our response by appealing directly to you. Our appeal takes the form of a demand that you apologize immediately - not through a spokesperson, but directly and publicly from the floor of the United Nations. If you do not follow our orders, we will hijack planes and fly them into the U.N. Headquarters in New York. You had better take us seriously. After all, we’ve done it before.

In the event that we must attack the U.N., you will be given another week to apologize. If you do not, we will storm the Vatican and take you hostage. You had better take us seriously. After all, we’ve done it before.

In the event that we must take you hostage, you will be given another week to apologize. If you do not, we will establish special rooms in the Vatican that we will use to gang rape your nuns. We will rape them repeatedly until you apologize. You had better take us seriously. After all, we’ve done it before.

In the event that we must gang rape your nuns, you will be given another week to apologize. If you do not, we will drive to Jacksonville, North Carolina to bomb a U.S. Marines barracks. You had better take us seriously. After all, we’ve done it before.

In the event that we must bomb the sleeping Marines, you will be given another week to apologize. If you do not, we will kill one of your beloved Catholics from the Kennedy family. You had better take us seriously. After all, we’ve done it before.

If none of this works, we will sit back and schedule two years worth of actions that will take us into the summer of 2008. If we don’t have our apology by then, we will take Israeli athletes hostage at the 2008 Summer Olympics. You had better take us seriously. After all, we’ve done it before.

I know that some will say it is irrational to threaten such acts in response to the accusation that we are “evil and inhuman.” Some will say we are playing into the hands of our accusers. But those who say such things are ignoring the fact that our disproportionate responses to such insults are richly rewarded.

I predict that you will capitulate eventually and, in so doing, teach our young Muslim brothers that widespread violence is indeed rational under the circumstances. While we are not inclined to admit it, we thank American homosexual activists for teaching us how to act like crazed sociopaths to effect social change.

I look forward to your apology, Pope Benedict. And if anyone quotes your offensive quotations, I will slit his throat in the name of Islam. Praise to almighty Allah and death to those who deem us evil and inhuman.

Update: After Pope Benedict offered a public apology, Dr. Adams (now Dr. Abdul Muhammad Adams) threatened the UNCW administration with Jihad unless it reversed the decision to deny his promotion to full professor. Shortly afterwards, he threatened to flush copies of The Vagina Monologues and the Communist Manifesto (both sacred and holy texts at his university) down the toilet of the Women’s Resource Center. The communists and feminists who denied his promotion reversed themselves immediately. Adams is now the Director of Middle Eastern Studies and a Jonathan Swift Distinguished Professor of Islamic Fundamentalist Satire.

Another great commentary from Mike Adams
Unfortunately, most readers will fail to grasp the concept and practice of satire in his writings.
Thank you, Mr. Adams; we need more people like you in this world.

I look forward to this debate...
Mike, Good work on this one!

A Serious Factual Error
Sirhan Sirhan, who killed Robert Kennedy, was Christian and not a Muslim. I would hope a factual error of such a magnitude is immediately corrected as it does nothing to inspire credibility in the writings of Mr Adams.

Funny stuff
Adams, you are fun to read. Apologies to Ann Coulter, you are too. I got zapped for speed reading Ann's last because there was nothing new and the old stuff, wittingly enough presented, palled on content. Lots of other folks thought Ann was good and i defer. Adams and Ann are 1/2 when i have a choice of columns to read.
Justaguy, i hope you are right and a great debate ensues. Personnally, i see nothing to debate. Some leftist or Islamist might. James, Tanabear and left angle can be tedious, but they liven things up--and they are certainly protected by the first amendment.

Tao
It seems to me you are grasping at straws. Hitler loved dogs. Do you have any issues with a bitmore weight?

In response
The ultimate oxymoron - Islamic Fundamentalist Satire

Thanks, Abdul - There is such a cornucopia of irony, hyperbole and all around absurdity in this situation that one is hard pressed to decide where to start. But AA (Abdul Adams) has given me the inspiration to try.

So I will revert to my usual (nefarious underhanded) tactic of letting them speak for themselves.

THIS JUST IN!!!

'In Qom, the religious capital of Iran's 70 million Shiite (shiite happens!- me) Muslims, hard-line cleric Ahmad Khatami said the pope and President Bush were

"united in order to repeat the crusades."'

I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP
Source - Chicago Tribune

Comment - this dude has issues.

Comment #2 - Is there anyone else out there who is sick of these rent-a-riots as I am? Isn't it getting a little sickening? Don't these people have anything better to do? What contribution have they made to the world lately?

Question(s) - 1) How many of the rent-a-riot crowd have read the Pope's speech? 2) How many of them can read? 3) Whose fault is that? 4) How many of them understand the meaning of the word 'context'?

Although I am not a Francophile I now claim the right to paraphrase Rene Descartes who said "Cogito, Ergo Sum". Which means "I think, therefore I am".

I rant, therefore I am.

How many people are heading FOR the Mid-East to make a better life for their family? If America is the great Satan how come we have such a problem with illegal immigrants?

Of the many talented people you in the Mid-East have lost because they fled for the simple reason that they wanted a better life for their families - where do you think the majority of them have come? Right here in the USA. And the vast majority of them are doing just fine. Some of them I am a little suspicious of but with good reason, I think.

I spent more than two years in the mid-east when I was in the service, and the overwhelming majority of the people I met and interacted with while I was there were good and honorable people. Whenever I was in Istanbul (an INCREDIBLE city - try the Covered Bazaar!!!) I usually went to the Bazaar (it helps if you can speak French) and to the Mosques.

Not to mention that there is a bridge in Istanbul (Galata? - I can't remember) that if you start at one end you are in Europe if you go to the other you are in Asia.

Istanbul, Constantinople, Byzantium - They're all the same. The Gate of Horn - Right there.

Remember the earthquakes in Istanbul about 10 years ago? The buildings that fell down were constructed within the last 60 years or so. Those that are still standing were built about (brace yourself!!) - 16 or 17 centuries ago. If not more.

What is my point? Good question. We can get through this, but we need a finely tuned sense of the ridiculous, because that with which we are constantly confronted stetches our senses to an extent previously thought to be unattainable.
(Michael Moore - please call home)

IN CONCLUSION

Many years ago when I was a young lad we lived in a house where there was a tv which one day went on the fritz, aka it didn't work. Being a young lad I decided it was my duty to bug my dad about getting the machine fixed. I bugged him for a while and then one day I went a step too far and he turned to me and said

"Look around you!".

Being an obedient sort I did. And what did I see?

BOOKS

And at some (other) point when I was a young lad my dad took it upon himself to introduce me to the works of P.G. Wodehouse. To you uninitiated - he was the English author who created the character of Jeeves, the Gentleman's gentleman, Among other treasures.

You can thank me later - I leave you with a quote from the master

'I had just returned from a weekend at the Chuffnel Regic clinic of Sir Roderick Glossop, the eminent loony doctor, or nerve specialist as he preferred to call himself - not, I may add, as a patient but as a guest. My Aunt Dahlia's cousin Percy had recently put in there for repairs and she had asked me to pop down and see how he was making out. He had got the idea, I don't know why, that he was being followed about by little men with black beards, a state of affairs which he naturally wished to have adjusted with all possible speed.'

The Conversion of Dr. Mike
I believe DR. Abdul Adams has finally reached ultimate enlightenment. He will now be free to follow the dictates of his new found faith and throw all the members of the various Gay, Lesbian, and transgendered groups off a tall building, head first, while freely practicing his religion. The flakey former department head (I can't remember her name) who claimed the former Dr. Mike Adams was threatening her will now be correct.

Imagine the thrill of blowing up liberal student news papers for championing gay, lesbian and trans-whatever rights and planting IED's near the line of students wainting to see the Vagina Monologues. Allah be praised.

And if anybody complains he can get the ACLU after them for violating his freedom of religion rights.

If things get too bad he can always end it all by taking out the administration building and get a bunch of virgins to clean his guns and maybe reload some amunition.

I think the guy is on to something.

tao
Sirham B. Sirhan may be some kind of Christian, but not one I recogonize. He hated Isreal so much that he thought assasination was was a legitimate political tool.

Does that thinking ring a bell, remind you of anybody else?

Kraut
Spelling complaints are not my forte, being more than as prone as the next typer, but reloading ammunition must be precise to be safe, and i flinched at your last post. And you and Mike ARE on to something.

Sirhan Sirhan
Sirhan Sirhan was born in Jerusalem to a Maronite Christian family, but changed his religion several times. He was Baptist, Seventh-day Adventist, Rosicrucianism and Muslim.

I have provided some quotes from works of Mel Ayton, an author of several books. In 2003 he acted as the historical adviser for the BBC's television documentary "The Kennedy Dynasty" broadcast in November of that year. He has written articles for Ireland's leading history magazine History Ireland.

"As a child Sirhan had been taught by Arab teachers who instilled in him the principles of the Palestinian cause."

"Although Sirhan's school was nominally Christian, teachers were mainly drawn from the Arab community, which was predominantly Muslim."

"From 1948 to 1967, Christian Schools in East Jerusalem were required to teach the Koran."

"During the Easter vacation of 1968 Arab-American Lou Shelby, who hired Sirhan's brother Adel as a musician for his club The Fez, visited the Sirhans. Shelby thought the family was "strange." He had previously visited them in Pasadena on a number of occasions for musical rehearsals and was able to see them in a social setting. According to Shelby, "The Sirhans always struck me as being a weird family. By that I mean something quite strange and unusual. Perhaps the best way to explain it is by saying that though they were Christians, the general quality, the atmosphere, of their family was that of a Muslim family. It was serious and heavy and lacking in the adaptability and quickness which most Arab Christian families here have."

You cannot describe this man as a 'Christian' with any accuracy, and you cannot claim he has no ties to Islam.

'Christian' is not an accurate description of Sirhan Sirhan.

One note Adams
Adams sez (in some sort of parody):

"I predict that you will capitulate eventually and, in so doing, teach our young Muslim brothers that widespread violence is indeed rational under the circumstances. While we are not inclined to admit it, we thank American homosexual activists for teaching us how to act like crazed sociopaths to effect social change."

I was unaware that "sociopathic" activists had so victemized Adams that he feels the need to compare GLBT people to homicidal Islamic extremists. Maybe he was trying to be funny. I'm sure the family of Daniel Pearl finds it hilarious. Perhaps Adams can show us where these menacing bands of armed extremist GLBT activists and Vagina Monologue actors are, and report them to Homeland Security. Wouldn't that be funny? I'm laughing already.

I so hope the Pope
doesn't apologize. He needs to say, "Thank you for making my point."

Celt
I agree. That was a low blow on Adams' part, but try not to let it bother you. If you've been reading his work for any amount of time, you should expect it by now.

And besides, other than that one phrase I find no problem with this column. It's actually really funny, and I'll quote my heroine La Shawn Barber's views on the current situation with Benedict XVII's comments:

"If I were the Pope, I wouldn't apologize for jack."

Congratulations, Mike
I hope your being denied a full professorship at the beginning of this columnn was factual. Were your liberal colleagues (and I use the word loosely) to accept your application, your credibility would be totally destroyed. So congratulations are in order (I hope).

Celtic
"I was unaware that "sociopathic" activists had so victemized Adams that he feels the need to compare GLBT people to homicidal Islamic extremists."

This is current-events satire. Remember Rosie? He's playing t1t for tat. (You cannot use that word which also means nipple on TH).

Abdul's Full Professorship
I hope, if he applied, that he was just doing it for the joy of persecution, because only a youthful, though endearing, naivete could explain any hope of it being granted after he successively pimpslapped everyone involved in the process.

I rest my case!
In order to keep abreast of the evil west's shennanigans moslems can pick up all the foreign language daily papers at their local "Bombs 'R Us." They all read German and Danish, you know. Beside banners in Arabic, Farsi, or English, their local Kinkos stores can do flags too! Gee, if only we could cash in on this "riot in a box" industry....The MSM had nothing to do with it!

The only thing the Pope should have said was, "I rest my case!"

The sooner we can get the entire world muslim population on thorazine or haldol, the better.

troglodyte
"The MSM had nothing to do with it!"

You think that too? I wonder which EuroAmerican reporters did it? Or perhaps, better stated, didn't do it? But then again, their are millions of ticking time-terrorists living in the West that can translate and communicate for them. Not to mention that CAIR is linked to them.

Radical Islam
How dare you, Sir, to speak of a radical Islam? This is a religion of peace and friendship. Should you repeat such dastardly accusations, beware some follower of the Prophet (peace be unto him) will not simply follow the Prophet's order to deal with people like you: "strike at his throat and break his back". That would teach you not to speak badly of this peace-loving religion.

celtic-dragonette
Ah, celtic-dragon, you still have failed to answer any of my questions. I’ll give you another chance.

What happens if the Christian community starts treating homosexuals with the same “tolerance” that homosexuals extend to Christians? You claim to be a “transgendered woman.” Does that mean that you were born with two X chromosomes and were surgically altered to resemble a man and have to take male hormone injections to maintain the illusion? Or does that mean that you were born with one Y chromosome and were surgically altered to resemble a woman and have to take female hormone injections to maintain the illusion?

Don't Miss the Big Picture?
RFK's support for Israel was Sirhan Sirhan's motivation for assassinating Kennedy, just because he wasn't a Muslim doesn't mean he didn't act like one. C'mon guys "dont miss the big picture"

Celti-dragon
I just wrote a post to Skip mentioning i will pay extra attention to his comments on minority matters since its easy to miss an item which grates on someone with a different viewpoint. Now you have pointed out a flaw in Mike's satire i didn't notice. I guess i cut him a little more slack, seeing mostly broad swings at humor. You are my lamp for GLBT matters, and you make a solid point. There is no comparison.

Sirhan Sirhan
How could he not be a Muslim. If a Muslim leaves the faith he is to be punished by death. I presume Sirhan was alive when he murdered Kennedy, so he was obviously still a Muslim.

Lose your train of thought, Mike?
Just wondering since you start out talking about your encounter during a jog, then suddenly direct your attention to the pope without previously bringing him up, as in "But, alas, my happiness turned to sorrow when I learned of your remarks regarding the great prophet Muhammad"

As far as the pope's remarks, so the opening shots in the war between the King of the North and the King of the South have been fired. The pope knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he made his comments, his main purpose is to unite the EU under Catholicism in its fight against Islam. Once the King of the South "pushes" the King of the North too far it will come against them in a blitzkrieg like attack. This opening salvo is just another incentive for Europe to strengthen its military. And once they are done destroying Iran and radical Islam, they will turn their attention to the U.S. and Britain and Israel.

Believe what you want and say what you want about Herbert Armstrong, but he laid this out based on biblical prophecy ages ago, and because of him none of the events going on in today's world surprise me in the least.

btw, notice there are never any angry rent-a-mobs here in the U.S.? That's because we have guns, except in NY, where they can demonstrate with impunity right at the former site of the WTC.

The truth, America must wake up.
Boy, is this article true, the Pope did nothing wrong, he actually told the honest truth. The color of Islam, or lets say the foundation of Islam is nothing more then total control of religion, total control of your life. It is either Islam, or death, if not death it is total slavery under Islam. It is nothing more then third class slavery, wake up America, wake up Christians, this enemy is strong, determine, and has the financial means to accomplish its goals. This goal is the total removal of Christians and Jews, read the facts, look at the history of Islam, look at the history of Muhammad.
Muslims are totally against Christianity, and Jews, NOTHING can or will change that, the history and even their actions today, speak louder then their words of peace. Which you rarely see, how many Muslims speak up against murders in the name of Muhammad.
How many murders are done in the name of Jesus Christ, how do Christians get to heaven, can Christians kill another, and be sent to heaven as a promise because of this action. NO.
I pray for your safety, and security Mr. Adams, I hope that this is not your real name, because many Muslims will threaten you because you have spoken the TRUTH.
God Bless America, and wake up America, before it is too late.

You all ought to be ashamed
Mike Adams ought to be ashamed of this juvenile attempt at satire. (If this is representative of his level of thought, I'm not surprised he was turned down for tenure.)

But all of you should be ashamed of your bigoted attitudes toward Islam. Apparently it is okay, in your eyes, to ridicule and slander Muslims, as if your religion or culture is so obviously superior and beyond reproach.

You people are looking at the actions of a few fanatics and painting the whole religion with a broad brush. You ridicule the idea that the suicide bombers believe they will get 72 virgins, but you have no problem with Christians who believe all sorts of crazy things about the after life, and what God expects of them.

I'm not saying that Islam is beyond reproach either. I'm only saying remove the plank from your own eye before removing the splinter from someone else's. In other words, rather than worry about the morality of someone else, worry about your own sense of morality. And bigotry is clearly immoral.

Phylo out.

A Special Report From Jilted Mike
Oh, I get it. Radical Islamists are bad. Thanks, Dr. Mike. Keep pumpin' 'em out.

True
"Apparently it is okay, in your eyes, to ridicule and slander Muslims, as if your religion or culture is so obviously superior and beyond reproach."

Yes, it is O.K. The fact remains that while MANY if not most Muslims in the Middle East want the death of Christians, Jews, Israel, and America, the same cannot be said of Christians. Yes, there are a few people who claim to be Christian that do similar things, but this does not come anywhere close to the scale of the Muslim world.

If a group of "radical Christians" were to start firebombing Mosques or abortion clinics, the Pope, Billy Graham, and many other prominent Christian leaders would condemn the action and remind their flocks that such behavior is not the Christian way. However, I have yet to hear any prominent Muslim leaders do the same for the current activities.

Satire
We need more satire in this world. It's a lost art. Back in the Stone Age (the 1960's for a lot of you), there was satire galore.

Now it's just pure hate speech.

Prof. Adams needs to tenured.

love it
hilarious...wish Dr. Adams was one of my profs!

SORRY PHYLO
Usually you have the ability to present both sides of an opinion, and always presented with a slant to the left. You may not appreciate Dr. Abdul Adams sense of humor and jabs towards the Islam (I'm going to cut your head off religion) and your point is taken regarding hypocrisy of slamming another religion while at the same time basking in ones own faith. The fact of the matter is that every satirical example that Abdul used is very close to being right on point. These people are scary and dangerous, and they certainly have the right to their own beliefs, but when their radical tactics cause world disruption they deserve every vocal, discriminatory remarks and repercussions that the west and the rest of non Muslims can inflict on them, including military action.

Sorry Phylo, but the beliefs and philosophy of Islam needs to be contained to their own little part of the world and eradicated from the United States of America. Visit http://www.headsneedtoroll.org and post your views, thoughts and opinions.

let them speak for themselves
Go to the site http://WWW.MEMRI.ORG and see what they are saying.

a few examples

SD #1197 - Egyptian Preacher Incites Children to Martyrdom

SD #592 - Iraqi Daily: Saddam Ordered Training of Al-Q'aida members.

SR #1 - Muslim Clerics state that the Koran teaches that The Jews Are the Descendants of Apes Pigs and Other Animals.

Don't take my word for it - It's all there.

By the way,
Phylo Se Fizer writes: You all ought to be ashamed

But all of you should be ashamed of your bigoted attitudes toward Islam. Apparently it is okay, in your eyes, to ridicule and slander Muslims, as if your religion or culture is so obviously superior and beyond reproach.

.
.
.
.

If I were Muslim my response would be "Shut up or we'll slit your throat. As it is, I’ll just laugh at you instead.

Celtic Dragon
I, too was wondering where that remark came from. I think it must've been satire, as well, because I've never heard of anyone doing anything violent to promote equality for GLBT's. However, the anti-gay fundamentalists in this country, while not resorting to bombing buildings, have been responsible for the injuring & killing of many gays. Put scarves on the heads of the Larry Phelps Baptist Gang & they look just like Islamic Terrorists with their "America deserved 9/11" signs.

Taskwazen states:
What happens if the Christian community starts treating homosexuals with the same “tolerance” that homosexuals extend to Christians?

In my experience, most gays I've met ARE CHRISTIANS!! There is a big difference between the philosophy espoused by Jesus & the doctrine that different churches use to keep their followers in line. If you tried to follow all the rules in the bible it would be imposssible, because it was written over hundreds of years by numerous authors & there are so many contradictions. IMHO, most Christians this day & age, try to live more by the Golden Rule then by the sword. A "Fundamentalist" Christian Society would look alot like Afganistan under the Taliban. Christians, like Muslims need to guard against and speak out against those in their midst who push intolerance and fear, which can easily lead to violence. Without separation of Church & State, a society that values civil rights cannot exist.

Violence and Persecution
Let's take a small look at the EVOLUTION of the two religions in questions.(oops, did I say EVOLUTION on a conservative website, shame on me.) At several points in history, Christians also performed institutionalized acts of intolerance and killing (Inquisition, witchburnings, etc.), but then they learned that this was not the true path. Remember that Islam is ~650 years younger than Christianity, so they are now going through these growing pains. All we have to do is ignore them for a few hundred years, and they will be right civilized. The bad news is that Zoroastrians, Sikhs, Neo-Pagans and others will soon be due to start their own persecutions in the name of God(s). Viva Religion.

Having read the various responses
of the "religion of peace", I find that I am tired of their preening. "Cry HAVOC!! and let slip the dogs of war!!"

Perplexed
I sure hope Christians can kill Muslims because we are going to have to kill thousands before this sham of a religion is brought under control. Nun killed in Somalia because of Pope's comments--kinda proves his words were prophetic.
Why do you writers have to caveat every statement about Queers and Lesbians? Their behavior is voluntary and deviate. You all behave as if the truth is to be avoided at all cost. What are you afraid of?

Oh Great! Another Muslim
So Abdul Adams arrives on the scene as a newly-minted Muslim.

Just what we needed...and, based upon his previous columns, one who is armed to the teeth.

If he starts musing about virgins, look out!

Invitation
We invite Phylo, Ajhil, Tanabear, Left Angle, etc. to join with us in our superior religion. It is extremely gratifying being on the side of righteousness and truth.

To increase membership, we are going to offer a throat-slitters annonymous group to reach out to our other Muslim brothers in hopes they will decide to join our superior religion too.

We must, however, keep vigilant in trying to get our former brother Abdul back in the family as well. We care for him even with all his shortcomings. First, we shall give him 1 week to appologize. If he doesn't, we shall send Hockey Goon to have a word with him.

We extend the hand of friendship to you all. We remain superior while accepting the lowest of the low along with the best of the best. If I made it in, I know you will be accepted too.

academic judgment
I don't know what his academic promotion application has to do with the rest of Adams' column, but since he brought it up . . .

We are to assume his department denied him promotion because of his political leanings, but whenever a notable liberal blames his or her misfortune on someone else, there are numerous rantings on this website.

At an undergraduate institution like UNC-Wilmington, promotion is granted for effectiveness in teaching and scholarly contributions in the classroom and in the scientific/professional literature. It's pretty cut-and-dried. Adams doesn't have his resume available on his UNCW website, so I have to assume his department made a reasonable assessment of his ACADEMIC accomplishments.

In a previous post, I suspected that Adams' rise to his neo-con cult hero status was coming at the expense of his students and his academic development, and perhaps I was right.

As I posted then: WRITING OPINION COLUMNS IS NOT SCHOLARSHIP.

Good on Paper
Did you detect any satire in Abdul's column?

MJ777
"In my experience, most gays I've met ARE CHRISTIANS!!"

They may be members of a church but cannot be considered Christians as to be one, they would have to condemn the act of homosexuality. On the contrary, they are attempting to corrupt the Church, much like they are doing with the educational systems.

(While all humans have various urges/weaknesses that are sinful, a Christian will attempt to contain them within the thought process. To allow those urges/weaknesses to result in committed acts, is to show complete disdain for God's word.)

MJ777
If you truly believe homosexuals treat Christians fairly and unprejudiced, just imagine if Ann Coulter had used Rosie's comments and stated, "We have just as much to fear from homosexual extremists as we do from Islamic extremists."

The streets in San Fransicko would still be filled with "in-raged" rioters. Leather, vasoline and flannel shirts would be everywhere...o the humanity.

Why...
Warrior writes:
"Why do you writers have to caveat every statement about Queers and Lesbians?"

If you don't want a response, then don't bring it up. If you bring something up on blog site, isn't a response part of the point of doing it? I am not black, but I would speak against racism.

"Their behavior is voluntary and deviate. You all behave as if the truth is to be avoided at all cost."

You say "voluntary & deviate" as if it's fact. It is just your opinion, the "jury" isn't in. And who cares if it's nature or nurture? What people do in privacy between CONSENTING ADULTS is their business. There are plenty of hetero's who do "deviant" things, so what's the point of witch-hunting Homosexuals? Doesn't your bible say we are all sinners? And judging by most people I've met, that's true.

"What are you afraid of?"

I'm afraid my Country is going to implode. I see so many gathering threats...from China... from Latin America...from Islamic Terrorists...from a reprehensible tax code...from religious in-fighting...from crippling political partisanship...from trillions$$ of debt...from the growing "police state" in America....

I'm afraid we as Americans will not learn to pull together, overlook the specks in eachother's eyes, find compromises, agree to disagree on personal matters. Put bigotry, racism, sexism, etc. behind us & close those chapters in our nation's history. Growing pains. The paralysis in WA is dangerous to all of us. We have too many important issues to confront. I love America, and it hurts me when there is criticism leveled at us & I have to admit that it's right. We are the greatest nation on earth, but we are far from perfect. Every great empire has fallen. I don't want it to happen to us.

"You ridicule the idea that the suicide bombers believe they will get 72 virgins, but you have no problem with Christians who believe all sorts of crazy things about the after life, and what God expects of them."
Wow...Christians and God and what is expected of them in the afterlife..Let me see now..The Tree of Life, Steets of Gold, All tears washed away.. The Angels and The Saints..Jesus's Face..A pure and Holy, Holy, Holy Father God..
And on this side we have the muslims..let me see

Yup your right...same thing.

That's what makes Mohammed so great.

If he were alive, we'd just call him an average terrorist.

Where's your logic?
Poking badgers.... says

"Remember that Islam is ~650 years younger than Christianity, so they are now going through these growing pains. All we have to do is ignore them for a few hundred years, and they will be right civilized."

I sure hope that passage was written with tongue planted firmly in cheek, but just in case it wasn't and for those who believe the same:

Easier said than done. Christianity's evolution was only accomplished after centuries of war with weapons nowhere near as powerful as what exists today. It also happened without the benefit of mass communication, unnecessary when the population consists of illiterate peasants.

Islam should need less time, because it started with the advantage of all that learning gleaned from humanity. Christianity's "growing pains" were done in a world without nuclear weapons.
Will the world still be here in a few hundred years when some idiots think destroying it will bring the 12th (or whatever) Imam?

How exactly do you ignore leaders who are willing to destroy their own countries and their own people for the sole purpose of fulfilling a religious prophecy?

The only way to ignore them is to quarantine them. That means keeping all Muslims out in the future and sending every Muslim currently in the West over to Mecca and preventing them from leaving Muslim lands. You would need an air, sea and land blockade. Are you really willing to do that, because that's what it would take for the West to have the privilege of ignoring them.

As long as we live in an age of global travel and communications, you can't just ignore the people who want to kill you. Their message spreads far and wide. If they don't kill you, someone else will take up the cause for them.

Oh well.....maybe we'll meet on the other side.
We'll be there soon enough if this keeps up.

We can still point out what is wrong
"Doesn't your bible say we are all sinners?"

Yes, it does, but that does not mean that we cannot point out what is wrong. Just because one commits sin doesn't mean that one is then prevented from condemning sin.

Sin
Those who love God honor him by following his commandments. None of us honor him all the time. That, however, is the ideal which only 1 person before us has achieved.

We are here to lift each other up and encourage each other. God knows our sins and as we study the biblical texts we learn of our sins also.

This is my attempt at a serious post in a long line of my satirical earlier ones.

I remain firm in my belief that God will accept all of us if we accept him.

FUZZY
The good news is that you don't have to kill anyone..Our sins killed Jesus.... He was The Perfect Sacrifice and all who believe in Him and His Sacrifice will go to Heaven..Any other theory of getting into Heaven is a lie from the pit of hades.

The AIDS epidemic was started in Africa among heterosexuals. A very promiscuous gay Airline steward is believed to have brought it into America & thus it began as a gay disease here. Now that it has made it's way to the Hetero population, promiscuous hetero's are spreading it. If a promiscuous straight male or female had carried it in, it would've hit the gay community last. BTW, I assume lesbians are okay with you, because they have the lowest incidence of AIDS.
As gays become more accepted in society, they are less likely to join in the underground, promiscuous gay community and more likely to live stable, monogamous lifestyles -- like marriage promotes.

MJ777
Who told you that? Aids is rarely transmitted by heterosexual sex.

More radical homosexual agenda spin
MJ777 wrote:
“In my experience, most gays I've met ARE CHRISTIANS!! There is a big difference between the philosophy espoused by Jesus & the doctrine that different churches use to keep their followers in line.”

Yea, right. Which denomination do they belong to? The Church of Ignore What the Bible Says?
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”
It is so ridiculous for non-Christians like you to attempt to tell Christians what Christianity is or should be. You are obviously unaware that your words only highlight your ignorance. You cannot back up your radical homosexual agenda spin with a single Bible verse. As for Taliban-like oppression, one only has to look to liberal “speech codes” on many college campuses to notice that it is the homosexuals and their liberal allies who actively oppress the free speech and the free exchange of ideas of Christians and conservatives. You also might want to read up on the history of Islam and the life of Muhammad before you make more ignorant comparisons of Christianity and Islam.

The bible says
Those of you giving your view of the bible & sin only make my point. We cannot run a constitutional government on the basis of any particular religion. Even adherents of the same faith (same denomination, same church) cannot agree as to which commands to follow, which are just not culturally viable anymore, which ones Jesus approved or disapproved of, etc. There are Christians who firmly believe that they must help the poor "undocumented" immigrants coming over our borders -- this is a clear mission from Jesus according to their bible. I know many Christians who would disagree. Who is right? The gay bishop fury...who is right? Good people disagree on these things...that's my point.

Meanwhile, I think most of us can agree on the jist of the original article -- the muslim protestors proved the quote true -- but we've been busy debating doctrines.

MJ777
Good points. The best we can hope to achieve is to keep Islam OUT of our land and not make laws violating other religeous freedom of expression.

I single out Islam not because it is a sham, rather because it cannot co-exist with our constitution.

I could give you plenty of bible verses to back up my point, as you can for yours, but I don't have that kind of time. If your heart is hard & your mind is closed, I might as well be trying to talk to Abdul, except of course, you won't slit my throat over it! Because I disagree with you I have a "radical homosexual agenda"? I can't just have an opinion based on things I've read, people I know, experiences I've had? You & I would probably agree on more things than disagree if we got to know eachother. I don't even know what this "radical agenda" is, but I generally disagree with extremism, whether on the right or left.

From the US Govt website,
http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/womenhiv.htm

Worldwide, more than 90 percent of all adolescent and adult HIV infections have resulted from heterosexual intercourse. Women are particularly vulnerable to heterosexual transmission of HIV due to substantial mucosal exposure to seminal fluids. This biological fact amplifies the risk of HIV transmission when coupled with the high prevalence of non-consensual sex, sex without condom use, and the unknown and/or high-risk behaviors of their partners.

The number of women with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection and AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) has increased steadily worldwide. By the end of 2005, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), 17.5 million women worldwide were infected with HIV.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), between 2000 through 2004, the estimated number of AIDS cases in the United States increased 10 percent among females and 7 percent among males. In 2004, women accounted for 27 percent of the 44,615 newly reported AIDS cases among adults and adolescents. HIV disproportionately affects African-American and Hispanic women. Together they represent less than 25 percent of all U.S. women, yet they account for more than 79 percent of AIDS cases in women.

For daring to call them "evil and inhumane," looks like they'll just have to react in an evil and inhumane way, in order to prove that they're not evil and inhumane.

I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but Islam sounds like it's pretty evil and inhumane.

People of all religions have performed what look like atrocities today.

I think the crux of the matter is- What does the central Prophet of Islam direct Muslims to do and what does the central Prophet of Christianity direct his followers to do.?

The argument should not be about what people of all religions have done in the past. People tend to do terrible things at times. Sometimes believing they are justified by their God, sometimes not caring what God thinks.

You are charged with learning the truth about God, not about how people treat each other in the name of their God. Comparing Jesus to Mohammed is not done through comparing atrocities of people, it's done by learning what they said.

There's some silly stuff
being written here by y'all. What part of "Muslims want to kill you" is hard to understand? I know that some of you voted for Kerry and probably do need me to type slower, but being a liberal won't save you. You are just a liberal infidel. Maybe you are cowardly and will convert so you are not concerned. As Dean Wormer said " Stupid and afraid is no way to go through life".
The problem is not with the terrorists only. The problem is there is not enough courage among moderate Muslims. They need to police themselves. Just like we do when a so called Christian commits a crime. My prediction is that unless they police themselves, in the near future the civilized world will have to do it with military technology--big bombs on cruise missles. It is their fault. They are either cowardly or complicit. And we need to drill for oil here, develop other renewable resources and nuclear so we won't have to worry about their feelings and our security. We can't gnore this and negotiating with these liars has never worked. Uh-oh, I have just insulted them. Should I worrry. What's that you say--calling them liars and murderers is not an insult. Just don't ask them to accept modernity. That's the real problem.

MJ777
I see why you would think Aids is transmitted by hetero sex thanks to your post.

The problem with those numbers is that they are still political. Most Aids cases are in Africa where most ailments are categorized as Aids (including pregnancy). This is an enduring attempt to sustain and increase funding toward aids related healthcare.

I prefer information from the Journal of American Medicine over WHO & CDC. My sources show not only that it is rare for hetero sexual aids transmission, it is at a one in 10,000 coupling occurance. If this were not true, we would see the grotesquely over-exaggerated estimations of human casualties like unto plagues of yor.

Other factors are the reasons for particular groups to have disproportional increases in aids occurance. Those being the documentable reasons, needle sharing, transfusions, ect.

I don't really find a lot of value in this line of discussion so I won't be responding to your forthcoming rebuttal.

The floor is all yours.

Good to hear from you again! I hadn't intended to really be a "compass", but I did notice the passage that Adams wrote which stood out in an otherwise amusing piece. He can't seem to help but dig at his favorite target, even if the essay has nothing to do with GLBT people. *shrug shoulders*

No you can't because there are none to support your position. Like I said, it is ridiculous for non-Christians like you to attempt to tell Christians what Christianity is or should be. You just proved my point with your last post.

Fuzzy
The commands that God/Jehovah gave to the chosen ones in the Old Testament were similar to those received by Muslims. The crux here is how you interpret the scripture where Jesus says that he is not here to change the earthly law. For example, he told the Israelites in the Old Testament that the Holy Land is theirs and to take it by the sword. Remember Jericho et al., where all the men, women and children were put to the sword. Now, 2000+ years post-Christ, we are not meant to lay down the sword and forgive when attacked. Any difference in attitude towards the enemy and/or their children is a result of societal cues.

Aids - related
Celt & MJ777

I want to be clear that my position is that I am not condemning homosexual behavior. I do believe it is sin but as I've said before, I have my sins too.

The thing that gets missed is that in committed homosexual relationships, just as in heteros there is also love, which is the greatest gift we can give each other.

Thankfully, I am not charged to judge others and they are not charged to judge me. What we ALL do is sin frequently. We were born sinners.

We can acknowledge sinful acts and we are commanded to refrain from them. We will fall short in this goal and would have no hope for salvation without the saviour, Jesus.

My point here is that, especially Celt, I hope you see that I think we are all children of God and he loves us all.

Fuzzy
That is something I can agree with completely.

Nice job, Fuzzy
^ I know that wasn't addressed to me, but I have to say that was the kind of post I'd like to hear from the people here more often God be with you, man.

I hope Christians everywhere realize that when they ask a homosexual person to refrain from their impulses in the name of God, they're asking quite a lot (perhaps even asking them to maintain a lifelong celibacy). It's made easier when there are understanding people in the world, who realize that we're all in this together, that we all have to deal with major sins to overcome, and that we were all created in the glorious image of God.

Spoons
I certainly do not agree with you or your case as stated, flipping back and forth between old and new Testaments and paraphrasing God's words. This venue of discussion (TH) does supply information and points of view I find valuable, often. It can also be a place for us to beat up on each other with words while not changing anyone's mind on subject matter.

I would prefer to just leave it that we disagree on today's issue and see if we find agreement on another issue sometime soon.

Until then

Geez, Luis
There's quite a realm of immorality on both sides of the aisle. Depending on where you look, you're sure to run into it--and the Internet brings out the worst in people everywhere. And what do mean by homosexual websites (just for clarification's sake).

But anyway, disgust is not the prime indicator of whether something is immoral or not. Many of my female friends, for instance, are not disgusted by homosexuality, yet they agree with my decisions in regards to it and faith. I, on the other hand, am repelled by the thought of heterosexual sex (I'm working on that, though). Personal disgust is often the indicator of a personal bias, which can lead to prejudice.

Rationality is therefore the best method. Homosexuality is wrong because the Bible says it's wrong. Whether you want to practice it (like myself) or are completely disgusted by it (like you) is irrelevant to that truth.

And besides, fisting? Come on man, I've never heard anybody mention that until you did. I actually had to look it up. Though unsettling, from what I can tell only an extreme minority of gays practice this. I, for one, would never be tempted to. Don't identify gays based on their least common denominators. Maybe if you don't, they won't do the same for Christians.

Neal Bortz...
likes to quote a study with a group of straight men who said they didn't have negative attitudes of gay men & a group did have negative attitudes toward homosexuality. They had to watch gay porn and their sexual arousal was measured. The homophobic men were overwhelmingly more aroused than those who were ambivalent. I wasn't going to post on this anymore, but Luis' graphic comments were just too funny.

How come I don't see anyone posting on how we need to stone people who work on the Sabbath? Divorced women who remarry? Fornicators....

My daughter recently got pregnant with her boyfriend. He has a large, local extended family of devout Southern Baptists. When I was young, she wouldn't have been accepted by good Baptists. She would probably been sent away and the baby adopted out or maybe they would've run away from their families. The child would've suffered. Well, fornicating & even living together long-term has become accepted behavior. These generous, Jesus-loving folks have treated her like their own. They had a nice wedding (even though she was 8 1/2 mos) & have ensured that this baby will want for nothing. Love One Another seems to be the most important Commandment to them.

Thank you all
for shaking hands. Sort of reminds me of a couple lawyers saying and implying the most horrible things and then when the verdict is in, they close up their briefcases and go to lunch. My wise Great Aunt Amelia said once "i never judge people, Pistol. Its a lot of work to do it well and they so rarely appreciate it" She died 50 years ago, but remains in the hearts of all who knew her.

MJ777
Why not ask your in-laws how they feel about homosexuality.

Jesus stated that we should not hate the sinner but hate the sin.

I work with homosexuals whom I love dearly but I do not and will not ever condone their lifestyles and they know it.

Just because your in-laws love your daughter does not mean that they condone their son and your daughters actions. They love their son and his child. Yes they are good Christians.

No, Blondie
Homosexuality is NOT all about sex. Would you mind if I referred you to a book by Alan Chambers, head of Exodus International (the largest Christian outreach program to gays lesbians).

Here's the URI. http://www.harvesthousepublishers.com/books_nonfictionbook.cfm?productID=6916911

There's a PDF excerpt you can read there. I suggest you take into account the Myth/Fact section, most notably Myth #3 (though it might benefit you to read the entire thing).

Personally, I disgree with a lot of Exodus' tactics (not their message, though). Still, I think you should read it. Mr. Chambers touches on a lot of good stuff. Mainly, that if you've spent time condemning homosexuality, without taking the time to think about what people in that situation should do to fix the problem (or how they should do it), then you have missed the point of Christianity.

Ahem
I mean you've missed "a" point of Christianity, not "the" point. There are several, and I'm sure that by being a Christian you've got a handle on most of them :-)

The new Moslem

ADAMS AKBAR!!

kids out of wedlock
I'm sure the Southern Baptist family is accepting of the out of wedlock pregnancy...that does not mean they condone it. In regard to homosexuality, why do homosexuals insist on publicly announcing they are gay and flaunting it? I don't want to listen to heterosexuals brag about their conquests, neither do I want to hear about homosexuals and their love lives.

Smokeykhan
Smokeykhan needs to come back to the real world and give up his intellectual pursuits. Mohammed says either convert the infidel, kill the infidel or make life so miserable for the infidel he will convert. Islamists claim that Mohammed should be the true prophet since he succeeded Jesus in time. Perhaps they should check with the Mormons, they believe Joseph Smith succeeded both. All Joe wants is a few good women, they don't have to be virgins.

Fuuuuuny
I cannot believe that such a great satire could get such seious and off base remarks.
Some of the remarks were just as funny

"The streets in San Fransicko would still be filled with "in-raged" rioters. Leather, vasoline and flannel shirts would be everywhere...o the humanity."

Abdul you and Ann are the best

Oh, Yes, GOD IS GREAT!!!!
If you don't agree keep it to yourselves.

All people are guilty of sin but...
a Christian will recognize the sin and attempt to refrain from repeating it - unlike the homosexual who refuses to either recognize the sin or refrain from repeating it.
A Christian has no problem being rebuked for sins committed whereas a homosexual refuses to accept that fact that their behavior is indeed sin.

C'mon Mike, give it a freaking rest!
I was with you on this great satire--although you can hardly top people who commit violence because they're insulted that someone says they commit violence. Maybe you're even aware that this nation and the West as a whole are now engaged--like it or not--in a global war with Islam. No, not just a few whack-jobs, but pretty much the religion as a whole. If the average man on the Arab street is asked to choose: global jihad or rejection of his jihadist friends, we know what he'll pick.

Then you went off the rails with your line--and you know which one it is--that has nothing to do with your satire. Let's say that it compromises the coherence and symmetry of your text with an appalling irrelevance. (i.e., something like farting into your tuba when you're playing with the New York Philharmonic--it gets the wrong kind of attention).

"While we are not inclined to admit it, we thank American homosexual activists for teaching us how to act like crazed sociopaths to effect social change." How many homosexual activists have been detected by Homeland Security plotting to hijack air liners? Where are all those gay suicide bombers? Are there GLBT'ers out there planting IED's on the road to your cabin? When was the last time an RPG fired by a transgendered person of color shattered the windows in your office?

In other words, give it a freaking rest. We know--oh how we know--the depth of your hatred and contempt for gays. Put it in your prayers, where you probably think it belongs anyway.

Awesome article
After all, you’ve done before...

BTW, are you tenured?

insulting islam vs free speech
Phylo: you say that we should be ashamed for isulting another religion. I suppose, then, that you are opposed to works of "art" such as p1ss christ and the one with the virgin mary painted with excrement. The difference between Christianity in America and fanatical Islam is that if someone's doing something that the Bible says you shouldn't be doing then a Christian might say something to you or maybe send you to your room. A fantical Muslim, on the other hand, will kill you or enslave you if you don't follow the Koran to the letter. Maybe that does indicate a certain superiority, wouldn't you agree? I'm thinking that it's okay with the left to insult Christianity because Christians are just going to complain. Fanatical Muslims are going to gather in the street, burn effigys and threaten beheadings. You certainly seem to fear these people. The appropriate response is to continue to insult them with pictures and words and other forms of free expression. Perhaps then their anger will work itself out and they'll get to see how stupid they're being. As long as people keep cowtowing to them they'll continue to smolder, because it is an effective deterent. I don't understand how there are people in this country who are incapable of understanding this.

Gestell
Thanks for the comment. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed.

Refute
If the charges made by the Byzantine Emporor and repeated by the Pope are false, why are they not refuted with chapter and verse from the Koran? Why not a civilized dialog instead of bombings and murders? Can't the Islamists prove their point without the very violence they are accused of,or is there no refutation of the accusation in the Koran?

Gestell, while I agree with you,
I'll defend Adams, just for the sake of argument.

"While we are not inclined to admit it, we thank American homosexual activists for teaching us how to act like crazed sociopaths to effect social change."

Let's look at that throw-away line (and you're right, it's not necessary to his argument). He basically is calling American homosexual activists "sociopaths."

Sociopath: a person suffering from psychopathic personality, whose behavior is aggressively antisocial.*

Psychopathic personality: a person whose behavior is largely amoral and asocial and who is characterized by irresponsibility, lack of remorse or shame, perverse or impulsive (often criminal) behavior, and other serious personality defects, generally without psychotic attacks or symptoms.*

No ringing endorsement, sure. But Adams didn't call them terrorists; he called them sociopaths. He then said that these Jihadists learned how to "effect social change" from the homosexual activists, not that they had learned terror tactics from them.

*Both definitions taken from Webster's New World Dictionary.

Part 2
Still, what's his point in bringing it up in the first place? Well, let's look at the rest of the paragraph that in which this quote resides. It's connected to this:

"I predict that you will capitulate eventually and, in so doing, teach our young Muslim brothers that widespread violence is indeed rational under the circumstances."

Basically, by refusing to halt, and by upping the ante each time, the opposition will capitulate. And when they do that will send a message to all of the other Muslims (that are not currently Jihadists or Jihad supporters) that this is the way to go. He is making the case that homosexual activists have used a strategy of incrementalism, and that each time it's successful, more people buy into their agenda.

While I highly doubt foreign Jihadists are paying much attention to the homosexual activists, I think we would be foolish to think that CAIR and other Muslim groups in America are not paying attention. I would contend that all the activist groups learn from each other. They would be foolish not to.

Again, I agree with you that these lines were a poor addition; they distracted from rather than added to his column. But I don't think he meant them the way you took them.

Magdog,
"Can't the Islamists prove their point without the very violence they are accused of,or is there no refutation of the accusation in the Koran?"

No.

Congratulations
Congratulations on your new conversion. You'll find happiness and peace as a freedom hating/oppression loving fanatic. H*ll, maybe you can even convince your kids to blow themselves up in the name of Allah (PBUH). Their first target should be Eve Ensler. You know, the author of the "Vagina Monologues." She is subversive to the very central tenets of Islam. The problem is not the overall theme of the "play." It's that it is utterly stupid in its presentation. I just finished reading the complete transcript. I think that you should terminate this with extreme prejudice because it contains themes of female liberation coupled with abject stupidity. True believers abhor both, right? Then, you could go after homosexual activists at UNC-W. Homosexuality is also contrary to the teachings of the "Prophet." I think you are on your way to a great new life. I hope you make the most of it.

Please wait while I extract my tongue from my cheek,

Adams' columns threads seem to usually end up going over much the same material.

I'll agree the sentence was perhaps unneccesary, but at least he's consistent.

And I still think he throws little jabs in their for the reaction it generates. And evidently, it does raise some feathers.

Say what you will about him and this tactic. I am not here to defend... But I do find his writing entertaining.

ugh
after reading all of the random comments on h*mo(can say a word that means same on TH GRRRRR) and hetro sexuality i am now kinda mad. First i would like to see some evidence that anal sexs makes it easier to contract aids as i was under the impresstion that it was just as easy no matter which way you chose.

Personally i dont really care about which religion is right or wrong cuz we are all going to die one day no matter which one we pick. So all of you h*mophobes shut up i am tired of your mostly hate filled talk. all you h*mos shut up i am tired of hearing you tell the phobes to accept you.

Separation of Church and State
I finally understand! As a Christian I have been arguing for my beliefs for far too long. The liberal left has done me a favor instead. If the Church must be Separated from the State in public life, then from this day forward when I am in public, discussing public issues or any other time I want, I will adhere to a Separation of Church and State policy. When in private I will mix them in any way I choose.
Consequences of my new policy: the State has the power to arrest, enslave, and murder under rules it sets and now SO SHALL I. Remember, its only the "STATE" side of me that you need to fear. If we could interact on the private side you'd be safe.
Henceforth, all Muslims/Moslems shall be killed if they shout Allah Akbar within my earshot.
All GLBT's will be beaten(umm no they'd enjoy that too much), imprisoned (hmm same thing), oh heck HUNG FROM A TREE UNTIL DEATH.
There may be more rules, as I am researching all the powers of the State I am not clear what other actions I may take.
Wait, I thought of another, any liberal/Democrat that mentions Al Gore/John Kerry/the 2000&2004 election/selected vs. elected/Supreme Court will be immediately "taxed" by a transfer of wealth from their pocket to mine.
Again, I must remind you that if you'd dealt with me on the private side(read Church), I'd just as likely give you $5 for the Food your sign says you want.

ENOUGH ALREADY
The column was satire about muslim violence yet because of a couple sentences so many posts have been about gay this and gay that and how much you've been offended, blah, blah, blah, yak, yak, yak. Sheeesh people, get over it.

Conversion by calibre, calumny, or cut!
Dear Dr. Abdull Akmed Adams or whatever,
I would not want you (and others who read, write, and promulgate) to be without the whole truth regarding your recent conversion.
A. The origin of the doctrines that have driven recent behaviors was as unique as dirt. It seems that Mohammad in an enlightened moment determined to write a book of ideas and lifestyles that would be the exact (exact as he could make it) opposite of the tenets, commandments, teachings and truths of the Word of God - ie. The Bible (Old Testaments and New).
Unfortunately for him he was unable to have the Supreme Being, Jehovah Jirah, Elohim, God Almighty, Yahweh to concur with his personal doctrines, so he chose to stick his fist in Almighty God's face and shake it with anger and threatenings.
The evil one, however, - one Satan or Lucifer - was more than glad to encourage Mohammed in his endeavors.
B. The next clever thing that has been done in his name is the accusations that America is the great satan. How clever is that? I mean if you want to focus the attention of your followers on something that is true of you and your movement (no doubt on this at all), why then accuse your enemies of being that which you are.
This makes the world focus on the wonderful positive lies or is the wonderful negative truths! This will get the heat off of you and your doctrines of Hades on put them on another!
We know it works since we did it with great success when we accused many innocent Americans of communism many years ago. It painted honest men and women with a coating of red lead communist paint that even today has not been removed from families still suffering from it.
Just so you would know!
Your friend,
Carl

PS. One thought slipped through my guard...the word - bazaar, strikes me as odd!
I like the comment of Uncle Max - re Wodehouse- one of my favorites!
And I think I should like to add a new Latin phrase to my already overburdened family crest - Rantundum, Ergo Sum! I rant therefore I am!

New Here
Reading Mike's most recent column and the ensuing discussions has been fun. This column is hilarious and in a sad way, oh so true. As far as the issue of homosexuality, I am not sure just how important he meant that to be. But here is a thought: We are a nation at war with an evil that is unprecendented in all of history. We need to all forgive each other and look past what we perceive as sins. We are all Americans with one common enemy, an enemy that seeks to either kill us, force us to convert (yeccccchhh gaggg!!)to the "religion of peace", or suffer worse things.

It seemed to me that on 9/11/01, there were no gays vs. straights, nor blacks vs. whites, liberal vs. conservative, red vs. blue, etc. No, one thing I picked up at that moment, was that we were all Americans--we'd all been attacked. I applaud Mike for his column and for being honest when others act like they are scared of this enemy and are trying to "make nice" in order to appease it. Keep up the good work.

And now for all of us, let us all go to our blogs or sign up for blogs and begin blasting what needs to be blasted, all inspired by our friend Mike.

This is more real than satire
I found your satire more revealing than humorous. While I have always enjoyed satire as a way to illustrate the obsurd, you have illustrated what is obvious to the rational mind and hidden from the PC crowd. Thanks, Mike.

the obvious
I think it is quite obvious why your application was denied. It had nothing to do with your political orientation.

Do it!
Dr. Abdul,
One of the best actions you could take is to fly that airplane into the UN building. After all, the only thing of value we'd lose is the building.

Amen, Amen, Hallalooaah
Thank goodness for Mike's humour and satire, even if his remarks have a sadly true element. There is a double standard with religious persecution and Islam these days.
Must everyone (but Mike Adams) walk on eggshells or risk losing out on a promotion for telling it like it is?
He mentions the Mormons and it is ironic, because they were persecuted and later forced out of the USA (Utah was unincorporated territory) for being different in the 1840's. Where was the ACLU and the liberals then?

Moderate Muslims -- The Myth Wish
I'm afraid we have another myth brewing in order to be PC.

Can anyone define a "moderate muslim"? In islam's dichotomy one either is a 'believer' or an 'infidel'. One either lives the Koran or one doesn't. One does not 'believe' the Koran, one LIVES it.

When infidels such as some of us ask "But why don't the "moderate muslims" speak up about ...", some of us seem surprised that few or no voices are heard, and those that are, usually are then labeled 'apostates' by their mullahs and sheikhs.

There may be various "grades" of infidels, apparently depending on whether they are taxed and segregated-to-death or simply killed outright.

After 5 reasonably pleasant years in Cairo, with a predominantly muslim staff of over 100, and working principally in the Arab "street" (literally), I am quite convinced that what someone above mentioned is true: "el Din or the infidel? - Choose!" The vast majority will choose el Din. Even my very good Egyptian friends. And, they might give me Abdul Adams' week-at-time to work things out while taxing me out of existence (actually, that tax is Tribute to el Din). BTW, el Din is "the religion".

Give it some MODERATE THOUGHT.
