Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Ah, the perks of media affection. On Christmas Day, the Washington Post delivered a front-page paean to Barack Obama's workout habits. The 1,233-word ode to O's physical fitness read more like a Harlequin romance novel than an A-1 news article.

Sighed smitten reporter Eli Zaslow, "The sun glinted off chiseled pectorals sculpted during four weightlifting sessions each week, and a body toned by regular treadmill runs and basketball games." Drool cup to the newsroom, stat.

Zaslow imparted us with vital information about buff Bam's regimen: "Obama has gone to the gym for about 90 minutes a day, for at least 48 days in a row." The Washington Post enlightened us with more gushing commentary from Obama friends and associates, who explain how, as the subtitle of Zaslow's opus put it, "Gym Workouts Help Obama Carry the Weight of His Position."

For adoring journalists, you see, Obama's workout fanaticism demonstrates the discipline and balance in his life. Apparently, what's good for Obama's glistening pecs is good for the country. Zaslow quoted Obama Chicago crony Marty Nesbitt, who offered this diagnosis: "He doesn't think of it as something he has to do -- it's his time for himself, a chance for him to reflect. It's his break. He feels better and more revved up after he gets in his workout."

And when Obama feels better, the skies will part, the sun will shine (in moderate, environmentally correct, non-global warming-inducing amounts, of course), and peace will reign worldwide!

Too bad the doughy, McDonald's-chomping, coffee-guzzling members of the White House press corps couldn't see the merits of White House exercise over the past eight years. After giggling about his out-of-shape colleagues in the media, Zaslow mentioned in passing that President George W. Bush shares Obama's commitment to health. What he failed to acknowledge is that the same reporters who so greatly admire Obama's lithe figure derided Bush for his training schedule.

Former Washington Post writer Jonathan Chait famously attacked Bush three years ago in an opinion piece for the Los Angeles Times headlined "The (over)exercise of power." Recounting how President Bush ran 3.5 miles a day and preached more cross-training to a federal judge, Chait fumed, "Am I the only person who finds this disturbing? ... What I mean is the fact that Bush has an obsession with exercise that borders on the creepy."

Chait argued that Bush's passionate devotion to exercise was a dereliction of duty. "Does the leader of the free world need to attain that level of physical achievement?" he jeered. "It's nice for Bush that he can take an hour or two out of every day to run, bike or pump iron. Unfortunately, most of us have more demanding jobs than he does."

Can you imagine any member of the Obamedia mocking the incoming gym rat-in-chief this way?

Chait was not alone. Reuters journalist Caron Bohan weaved the same unhinged themes into a piece on Bush's two-hour, 17-mile bike ride with cycling champ Lance Armstrong in Crawford, Texas, in 2005. After noting his six-day-a-week workout schedule, Bohan steered the piece into an anti-war screed:

"Bush says exercise helps sharpen his thinking. But some of his critics view his exercise obsession as an indulgence that takes time away from other priorities. Among them is Cindy Sheehan, the Vacaville, Calif., mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, who until late last week was camped out down the road from Bush's ranch seeking a meeting with him to discuss her opposition to the war. Sheehan, who left her vigil on Thursday to tend to her sick mother, has said she believes Bush should take fewer bike rides to have more time to focus on the 'the nation's work.'"

Fit Republican president = Selfish, indulgent, creepy fascist.

Fit Democratic president = Disciplined, health-conscious Adonis role model.

The good news: In just a few short weeks, W. will be able to exercise in peace, free from the disapproving glares of journalists now rushing to mop the sweat -- er, the glisten -- from Barack Obama's hallowed brow.

Excellent

Great article on the double standard.

Brings to mind the adulation of the Idol Baal, and the sacrifice of babies.

Media Mogul "I. F.Stone"
Very good article.

I.F. Stone was a case in point. Revered in the 50's & 60's as the "Media God", Stone is now undeinably linked to the Payroll of the Soviet Union.

The Venona Project busted him and several others. I.F. Stone should have been the wake up call for America.

I wish the "Right Stream Media" would present the American Public with what is now known about the "Venona Project" that cataloged Soviet Comunist" in our government and Media.

Americans need to know that True Red Blooded Comunist have been high in our Government and Media.

Obama is all about Obama
It's great that Obama and Bush are both into staying fit, but watching Obama for over 4 years now, it definitely seems as though he cares a lot more about Obama than he does about the U.S. Regardless of the crazed liberal attacks, the vast majority of Americans (those who don't froth at the mouth about Bush) know that President Bush did what he thought was right for America. Many conservatives like me disagree with his spending, immigration policy, etc., but we know President Bush meant the best for America. Obama may love his country, but anyone with a pastor like Jeremiah Wright does not love America like George Bush does. As many have said, Obama joined the America hating racist Wright's church to gain "credibility" in the community and to gain political power. That's not just selfish and power hungry, it's scary. This should open the floodgates for all the lib responses. The truth hurts.

The Media Has
A double standard, and has for many years. What is good when Democrats do it is wrong for Republicans. Republicans can do nothing right or honest according to the media, while the media sees nothing wrong with Congressman Bill Jefferson hiding bribe money in his freezer. And this will continue as long as the public will accept it.

Wishful Thinking
One can only hope that this obsequious media fawning over everything liberal and seething disgust for anything conservative will at some point be their undoing. Like I said, wishful thinking.

In the meantime, keep cancelling those subscriptions to your favorite liberal rag, its killing them. The New York Times belly-up, now that's wishful thinking but miracles do happen.

Republicans need to show some spine
and really stop complaining about trivial things that just really don't matter. As the first poster seemed to indicate any role model for exercise should be applauded especially in this day and age. Mem like Obama and Bush have shown that you can still take time out to mind your body even under the most stressfull of circumstances. this is a petty non issue.

the bigger issue is that as a Republican I know where to go to get conservative news and information regardless of what a liberal leaning media might say or imply. I am so tired of the liberal media whine. Republicans have many papers of record and tv and web reasources that we can be proud of.

When Sarah Palin couldn't name a newspaper she read I realized she was little more than an empty suits. A real republican would have answered I read the Washington Times, the weekly standard and the WSJ, I watch foxnews, and check Newsbusters and Newsmax. For every huffington post and kos there is a red state and a matt drudge.

We need to stop our kvetching about the liberal media and start boosting our own avenues of information. You cannot play constant offense against the institutions of american media. We mys raise our own channels high rather than constant seeking to dengrate the opposition.

Bush is right:
Exercise is good for everyone and it will sharpen one's thinking. I encourage Michelle to work out before writing her columns.

Frank
Just one problem. The news organizations you mention are fine but they "preach to the choir." The reason we "kvetch" is that our message is almost completely drowned out by a liberal juggernaut that is learned in the ways of discrediting and humiliating any message they wish to destroy.

Interesting you mention Sarah Palin. No, she is not an empty suit; she is the product of personal destruction by media firing squad. I admire your spirit and I agree, we do need to get some spine but "denigrating" our opposition is mandatory.

The liberal media has an agenda and it has a "take no prisoners" mentality. It will take more than reading the Washington Times to address that threat.

Michelle
Great article, Michelle. Your mind is sharp.

For The Love Of Obama
About this time next month,we will all see the BDS the so-called journalists have for the ex-president. It will not be pretty.

The hatred for Bush is deep and viceral among the press. They are no longer journalists. They are an ad agency for the DNC and their change-ling, B.Hussein.

Let him leave home to work out. After seeing an e-mail of his missus compared to a spider in that black and red dress at his coming out party,I think he is just trying to stay away from 'The Black Widow'.

Michelle
I just got done reading Ann Coulters mindless rant and followed up with this. I cant believe with all there is to write about, this broad picks this. Clearly the standards for this site have hit the bottom of the crapper. Are some of these writers just spitting out anything to collect a paycheck. I get more enjoyment reading the comments then the actual column.

Same old liberal ways...
Michelle's article points out once again that with those on the liberal left (redundant, yes) live on a one way street with a double standard. These next 4 years will be interesting to say the least.

UR #1 Michelle,My drool cup runneth over
Keep up the piercing good work. All of the howling and whining from the usual lefty trolls is evidence that you hit the target, BOOM!, like the ever present markswoman you are.

(I managed to bootleg the following example of "entertainment" from the innauguration festivities. It was written by B.O.s poet laureate, Elizabeth Alexander, who was in her stroller at the Washington Mall for MLKs' "I Have a Dream" speech.) To the "tune" of every other crappy rap song ever written:

Lizzy Alexander was on the Mall,
Cruisin' in her "strolls" she began to ball,
"Mommy oh Mommy, what can I do?
I'm just a little baby goin' poopy doo!"
Mommy looked around said, "Dang your right!
I gots ta get dis child an agent who's tight
Wit da Whitmans and da blockheads who make da laws
We can rake a lotta cash rhyimin' 'bout some 'cause'!"

Dat's da FO-one-one 'bout our girl Lizzy
She be rhyimin' 'n spittin' till ya head get dizzy:
"Dontcha go and care 'bout the WHATs He'll do
Just laugh at white haters when O says BOO!
They all jump around sayin' words 'n such
But it's HOW our boy SAYS it, con-tent aint much

Let's all hold hands and just praise The One
That tingle up your leg? Just follow it son
And hit-yer knees in the prone position
Now start to humm, you're his favorite musician
That's all I gots ta say, aint a word made sense
In this "modern" day, emoting's king of the dense!"

Word!

ahhh DanNV
“…"denigrating" our opposition is mandatory.”

1. to speak damagingly of; criticize in a derogatory manner; sully; defame: to denigrate someone's character.

That tactic did not work so well this election Dan. Maybe time to rethink. Everyone take a few laps.

Your complaning posts inturrupted briefly by along with Daily Kos talking points is just annoying to have to scan though. Do yourself and everyone a favor and just go!

OBAMA WORKOUTS
Michelle, as usual, you hit the nail on the head. Anything Bush did was wrong, according to the press, and Obama is a god in their eyes. As far as the south leaning toward liberalism, the ones who work for a living are not. They're just disgusted that there are no true conservatives running for office so they are not enthusiastic. Run a true conservative and watch us in the south!

Please sharpen your skills ladies.

The Stupid GOP RINOs are just Democrats who are afraid to take the final step.

They have no guts, no backbones, and are just weasels.

Let's work together to get them to take the plunge and change parties.

No they won't be a big asset at first because of their fears, but we can help them, once they commit.

THEN, we will own the Government, and we can do what we want ! DO IT !

true conservative carol?
frankly I'm pretty tired of social conseravtives trying to run the GOP.

Social conservatives helped elect Bush and were enablers in allowing him to destroy supply side economics and usher in a new age of liberal spending and bailouts.

Seems to me the social conservatives scream real loud when their morality is offended by abortion and immigration but when it came down to fiscal responsiblity the so called moral majority decided to call in sick.

Thanks for your help people.

Frankly I've think we've seen enough of true conservatives and until they learn from their own mstakes and lack of forsight we will be seeing a government that will skew secular progressive for the next dozen or so years.

Forget "true conservatives" bring me a "true republican."

There couldn't be a more PERFECT column

to expose the rampant and outrageous preferential bias, inequity, and blatant preference of the MSM.

"Fit Republican president = Selfish, indulgent, creepy fascist."

"Fit Democratic president = Disciplined, health-conscious Adonis role model."

And already with only a relatively few posts, the BDS infected intellectually limited liberals, have more than adequately demonstrated how they JUST CANNOT STAND it when their ignorant double standard smacks them right in the face....

Of course, no one is at all surprised at how vile and contemptible they become...

So, what's the matter leftists? Truth hurt? Perhaps a LOT? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha :-)

Do some research MM!
Bush's exercise became an excuse to bash him in 2005 because it connected to a pre-existing story about Bush taking tons of vacation time and showing little interest in the details of governing.
When Obama's governing errors start to emerge, I have little doubt the press will connect them to salient details of Obama's personal life... including his exercise regime.
Despite loving the kool aid, I found the WP article MM quoted a bit over-the-top, but we are in the honeymoon phase. After all, there is a Washington Post article from 2/12/01 that speaks in glowing terms about Bush's exercise regime. But MM wouldn't do the research to figure this out because
1) she's lazy
2) it would contradict her premise that the MSM is evil

Wow!
Zaslow's stuff sounds like some homoerotic love paean. If he'd written that about Bush, Bush would have blushed. Probably the messiah-elect will blush, too, but more likely he'll glow. His wife is gonna have to share him with women AND men, making him even more fawned over than Willy Jeff Clinton.

Judging from Zaslow's words, he probably suffers from BDS, the well-documented Bush Derangement Syndrome - (in Zaslow's case, another acronym like BKS, or Butt Kiss Syndrome, might be more applicable.)

So considering the lillies these folks throw at the messiah-elect, we might expect some of these writers to take a leave of absence in order to begin their new careers as Romance Novelists. "Glistening pecs?"

dear rowdy you poor misguided soul
either you did not read my posts or your obvious Obama-derangement syndrome is lowering your level of reading comprehension.

So I guess that is where we are in the GOP today- any type of dissent will be met with snide sarcasm(mice and men) or blind ideological ravings(rowdy).

rowdy you're soundling like a liberal to me with all your moaning. can you explain how you are not part of the problem? Didn't think so.

Rowdy you seem like a Mike Duncan(know who that is smart guy?) supporter. when a coach lets a team down as badly as he has us you replace him. Not this GOP thought, we seem to embrace our losers so long as they have the right ideology. Sarah Palin had no business being the VP pick but since social conservatives liked her views istead of her resume she got a pass. Just like the democrats who gave Obama's thin resume a pass. Our re-inforcement of this concept will allow ideologically pure people like Caroine Kennedy to take office because they pass some sort of dogma litmus test on views instead of being suited for the job.

Perhaps when you compassionate social conservatives stop handing out my tax dollars to the CRA, the automakers unions, and wall street fat cats you'll get some credibility and dignity back. Until then your bumbling incompetence put Obama in the white house-not the MSN. We only have ourselves to blame and the sooner we own up to what happened over the last eight years the sooner we'll be able to rebuild the GOP.

Until that time wy don't you try getting your news from a Republican source? Or tell me buddy are you really that simple?

Chin-raised Momma's Boy........
The Messiah with a Thin Resume is a frickin joke, for an example, see how the young Marines greeted His Racial Righteousness on Christmas dinner.

The momma's boy Barry, with his chin raised ever so slightly when he speaks, is a marketing ploy, nothing more. Oprah and Soros, along with a non-critical, fawning media succeeded in getting Barry Dunhan elected.

Mr "Spread the Wealth Around" should start with his wife's inflated salary and his income from his two laughably self-indulgent autobiographies.

I'll keep my money and my guns, thank you.

Barack Needs Mental Workout
Obama's workouts are irrelevant. What is relevant: Are those brain cells in the Messiah's head working? He has to learn the hard way that the socialist crap instilled in him from his youth will not work. That the Rev. Wright spews nonsense. That massive spending on the infrastructure will not revive the economy in itself.

His brain needs a revolutionary workout or he is going to end up like Jimmy Carter, a failed president and the butt of many barroom jokes. Working out is necessary for athletes but politicians need to buff up their principles and their policies and that ain't as easy as going to the gym every day.

Obama vs. Bush
Just one time I'd like to read a quote from the incomer that demonstrates some real insight. You can't get one statement from Obama that isn't loaded with generalities, and generally, sop for his listeners. It has been wondered during the last years how intelligent Bush is. Now we learn of his reading habits (contests with Rove since 2005). In that vein, I wonder just what hardbound book Obama has read, particularly an historical tome. He's written (?) two memoirs, and the world revolves not around the sun, but around The Son. Ever notice how he will always say "when I AM PRESIDENT" "MY ADMINISTRATION"? I agree with Rush, O doesn't want to BE president, he wants to ACT LIKE a president. Woe is us.

Reginald, another point
Wobbie da Wetarded Wanger Wannabe also doesn't "govern his actions" by following rules and laws either.

For instance, he doesn't follow the TH rule that when you're banned(as it's been proven he's been by his posts being deleted every day) you're not suppposed to keep coming back.

But you'll notice that every night, as soon as he's sure the moderators are gone for the evening, he slinks back in here like the worm that he is.

double standard
What a useless waste of space this author is. She states, "he (Zaslow) failed to acknowledge is that the same reporters who so greatly admire Obama's lithe figure derided Bush for his training schedule." Really?
She names the two offending reporters - Bohan and Chait, neither of whom are even mentioned by Zaslow as having any opinion of Obama's workout routine. I guess they all just look so much alike they can't be distinguished from one another or perhaps she is incapable of anything more thus needing to blur the boundaries of reality to make non-existent points.
So, starting with a premise based on a lie she then proceeds to call president-elect Obama a '...'rat'. But all is good if she can successfully play into the Holy Martyr neuroses the Right needs to survive.
Michelle's article is simply a vapid as her other writings - juvenile in premise, ridiculously self-serving in execution.

malkin has a point
the fact that bush exercised makes that one of the smartest decisions he ever made. the benefits of cardiovascular and strength training include improvement in cognitive skills and reaction time.
i don't agree with any bush policies but i do remember how people made fun of him for working out. they should have used him as an example for fitness in our fat nation.

Ann in VA

Wow - do YOU sound like a typical jealous left-wing feminist.

Tell us - where are your columns published and when is your next book signing?

Ann
Its hardly a waste of space to point out the double standards exhibited by the so called "journalists" of the left. But consider, when next year your idol/Obama is doing even worse in delivering on his promisses than can be expected (since he has already backed down, modified, or simply ignored them) (Clinton 3 comes to mind), they take after him with their mis-statements, inuendo, and bald face lies. Bush may not go down as the greatest President, but he is the only one since Regan with guts enough to keep your liberal tail safe. As for us conservatives, we will survive and wait to pick up the pieces from the Jimmy Carter clone you folks, and press like the NYT, LAT, Tribune AP, Reuters etc have foisted on us.

OMG

"tr's back" actually wrote something that I am in agreement with (except the "Bush policies" comment).

Now I have to deal with the Horsemen, the Rain of Fire, and the End of Days...

Full of it
Obama is full of s--t if he thinks anyone would believe his claims of working out that much. I have yet to see a smoker make it one mile running at a jog without stopping to hack up a lung. 90 minutes in the gym, his body certainly does not show it. A pencil neck with pencil arms and legs to go with it. He lifts weights??? How much? From the looks of him I would say he sticks to the 2.5 LBS. dumbbells. Smokers don't play basketball, they go in the gym and shoot a few hoops that's about it. Anyone who believes Obama needs to have his head examined.

Actually
Rat is another good name for the big O and I see a connection for this name thru his affiliation with acorn.

Typical, typical, typical
Bravo, yet again, Michelle! However, should we really expect anything different? Democrats, moron mainstream media, Hollywood, socialist academia, dissembling "greens," et alia, will always, always, ALWAYS ridicule ANYthing a conservative does, PARTICULARLY if it is something that one of their heartthrobs also does. The sandbox exchange in the comments section is just as telling.

The bottom line is that there is zero competence in the perception of those who own 90% of the soapboxes in modern society, and the vast majority of the public has, if anything, less desire to actually ascertain the facts. So, the blather you relate, and much of the blather from those responding to your, as usual, trenchant observations, is only what can be expected in todays world of never-ending-stream-of-expert-opinions on everything under the sun. The term "information age" is a misnomer; it should be either or both "misinformation age" and "disinformation age."

Nonetheless, keep it coming, Michelle! It is informative, fun, and gratifying to read your columns.

I GIVE UP !
I keep coming back to townhall to read well written conservative articles and follow up with intelligent comments by the public. Instead all I read here now are comments bashing each other. That's enough for me.
Thanks guys and gals, some of your comments here for the past months have been informative.
Have a Happy New Year!

Is Obama Still Smoking?
Funny how the media never mentions that, isn't it? And Obama has been working out for a whole month and a half now? WOW! That explains the pencil neck, the spaghetti arms, and the skinny legs.

Pathetic.

Didn't vote for Obama
Is there anyone who really wnats to see Mr Obama fail? Not me. Not me. If he fails, then so does the country. This is my country , too. I hope and pray Mr Obama does such a great job in his first term that it make me want to vote for him in 2012.

Its like buying a lottery ticket. You know you're not going to win the jackpot, but you HOPE you do.
Hmmm... is that the hope htat Mr. Obama spoke of during the campaign?

Gotta agree with you 100%. TH seems to be overrun with simpletons more concerned with bashing each other than having a thoughtful dialogue of ideas.

The technical problems get very annoying as well.

Ann
I don't call H Obama a rat, i call him Spook(as in ghost).
But i might quit calling him Spook and call him the same as i call people like you...Society's Hemorroids.

Michelle, please have more respect for rats.

Exercise
It is good that Obama is exercising. However, stopping smoking would do more to prolong his life and health than is exercise likely to do. Some people smoke and get away with it, but many develop coronary disease, lung cancer and/or emphysema. Nothing wrong with Obama being thin-the USA would be healthier and look better if more people were, if not thin, at least, of normal body weight. For five feet women get 100 pounds with five more pounds for each inch over sixty. For men it is 106 pounds with five and a half pounds for each inch over sixty. If you can pinch up one inch of fat anywhere on your body, you are too heavy. As for me I am seventy-one inches tall and weigh one hundred fifty five at age eighty seven. I swim for thirty minutes several times a week and go to the gym thirty minutes several times a week.
So more power to presidents who work out-even Slick Willie ran (he was too fat, but he didn't smoke those cigars), Dubya is getting too heavy, but he didn't smoke, he quit drinking (admirable and hard to do) and he worked out. It is irrational to hate a man who is not hateful.

Obama the Media Whore
Who really cares how much he exercises as long as he and his minions refrain from policies and laws that bring us ruin.
Give him many running shoes and a four-year membership at the local spa with all the narcistivc fairies in attendance to grease his way.

The article
Those who responded to Michelle's article who thought the article was about the work regime, missed the point. The article was about the incredible DOUBLE STANDARD. And yes it exists. And is badly demonstrated here.

Second, for the uninformed, we did find WMD components. Thanks to great timing and some luck they had not been assembled yet!
Everybody seems to miss this point too.

Had they been assembled, and armed, Hussein's plan was to give them to terrorists!!!! SO they could use them..against the western world.

Is that what everyone wanted?? The liberals, media and even the conservatives keep missing the point again and again...this was to prevent the use....and so far we have.

Or would you rather have them used against us?

Finally, Obama has no resume, nothing to allow anyone to judge anything other than his orations, which when off script were dreadful.

Please stop this nonsense about his great characteristics. He has yet to show his birth certificate. What does that tell you? And yes, he is in Hawaii right now and could end the controversy...but choosing to ignore it?!!

The "Wimp" Factor...
On one side we have George "W"(arrior) Bush...
And over there we have Barack "H"(ussy) Obama...

One "Made In America"; loved & respected by the Heartland...

The other "one, produced off shore" & promoted by Hollywood...

Keep The Faith America & Make It Strong...

Presidential Workouts?
“Ronald Reagan had a vision of America. Barack Obama has a vision of Barack Obama.”

B.O. is not president, yet. I'm not convinced he has the country's best interest at heart...whatsoever!

FDR, our longest serving president and workaholic, was no exercise buff for a good reason but instead focused on matters of State. Perhaps he's a better model for B.O., not that I want him hanging around the White House longer than four l-o-o-ong years:-)

Great point Michelle
Did I read correctly that this regimen has only been in place for a month or two? Perhaps Obama wants to counter the attacks on his smoking. Or perhaps he doesn't want to come in out of shape after a fit president like Bush.

Hey FRANK! Lighten up! We're just having fun!

to doc the bitter clinger
sorry doc I am not a social conservative and personally view social conservatives and their oh so many litmus tests to be tedious, and tiresome.

I am a Republican and not a "conservative."

Palin is a conservative and not a republican.

Funny how you conservatives seem to be screaming and accusing the loudest without offering solutions or new ideas.

Perhaps when you can actually contribute something beyond enabling your compassonate conservative Bush to hand out our tax dollars to socialist then perhaps you may be of some worth to the GOP. At this time however its pretty clear that you are typical of the problems we face as a party.

If Obama was right about anything its certainly that the RNC can no longer afford to be dragged down by right wing "purists" who sell out to wall street at the first sign of a squall.

Perhaps you conservatives should start your own party? As you've shown no true aptitude for either sense or governing ability it would be fascinating to see the demographic that would endorse such a weak willed bunch. Certainly you could become the party of morals but never the party of fiscal responsibility.

In that respect you have already failed the country and the genrations that will follow.

Great job.

USMC Lt ,

You, as many others have nailed our resident troll.

He is an apod, (snail) and his only trail is slime.

BUT, TownHall folks could ban this excrement, but they won't. All they do is delete his previous posts.

Every Computer has an ID # that goes along with every post.

If, and that's a big IF, TH truly wanted to ban the turd, they could do so.

Therefore, I conclude, TH wants EVERY post, because it helps their 'Bottom Line'.

If you want TH to continue, post anything; Tripe, insanity, crud, filth, moronic inanities, Hymns, Old songs...

It does not really matter to them.

Since TH still has some good posters, I continue to read.

But at the rate they are heading, I may change my mind.

On The Beautiful Malkin's previous column,

Wobbie Wanger made a few posts and then went away.

I exploded and put up 15-20 posts of spoofs of the trolls and,

I have doubts about Obama's dedication to anything but himself.

B.Hussein's smoking would be a negative. You will not see a negative story about him on the news media. Thus, you did not know he was still smoking.

How many other negatives are they hiding that are much worse? The MSM will never admit they have been had,so expect a cover-up of anything that smells a little 'off'.

Any rational, thinking person
who cannot see the obvious double standard of the down stream media over this silly, inconsequential issue, would need to be re-classified as a lame brain.

I tend toward skinny, myself, but Obama's "fit" body looks like a gawky teenager's to me. And what is with his "boobs?" If my chest looked like that after pumping iron, I'd quit.

I don't run or work out, but I weigh around 5 pounds more than I did when I was in Basic Training in 1968. Not many 59 year old men and say that. It comes from not being lazy and consistently applying near maximum effort to work or play.

Please, Rowly
Quit weesponding to Wobbie. It only feeds into his dewoosions of gwanduer and makes the wet spot in his jammies bigger.

Malkin said
"The 1,233-word ode to O's physical fitness read more like a Harlequin romance novel than an A-1 news article. "

And, this is supposed to make us think that Malkin recognizes or even writes an "A-1" news article?

Michelle, Michelle, Michelle! What is the name you use when you change personas and write A-1 news articles? I've never seen your name in a byline for any magazine, newspaper or journal of merit.

Is there a publication named the "Daily Vitriol" by any chance? Or maybe "Bit--- who hate?"

Robert
As I advised you before, just change your ID name and keep writing. These morons won't know the difference.

Americans were brainwashed
Thank you, Michelle, for exposing the blatant MSM bias that brainwashed Americans to the point that they elected a Marxist anti-American like Obama as U.S. President.

Brainwashed by the media, Americans became as foolish as the most ignorant Venezuelans, Bolivians and Ecuadorians who believed in CHANGE and YES WE CAN and now see that CHANGE means change toward Marxism, loss of freedom and rights, and greater poverty, despair and corruption. And YES WE CAN means Marxists like Castro, Chavez and Obama CAN fool people

It seems Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov was right when he warned that, through media manipulation, Americans would be brainwashed and would allow their country to be taken over by Marxists: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/k6KUDv1wzraWhwlBt1

If Obama does not meet Constitutional requirements to hold the office of President, the Court must decertify the election. Americans have the right to be protected from Marxists planted by U.S. enemies to destroy us.

Good Discussion
With Wobbie on board it's not really possible, which is his whole purpose. I don't care what the Obamas eat for Christmas. My family (across the country) had turkey, ham, prime rib, tamales and chile relanos, and cajun gumbo. I think it is interesting--but do you care? Great. We are agreed. Likewise, I think it is nice that Obama finds time to excercise, but I really don't want to look at his abs(or anything else!

Create the FMJC
What I find truly disgusting and irresponsible is the method by those in congress who conjure and force-pass legislation for their self-serving benefits, which has proven to have caused the current devastating financial results.

Case in point - many, possibly millions of individuals and families, have had the value of their retirement accounts lose up to 70%. Federal legislation and wide-spread government intervention and meddling are the causes. People such as Dodd, Schumer, former President Carter, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Pelosi, former President Clinton, et al have caused this disaster - the legislation: Community Reinvestment Act – CRA.

What is even more insulting and certainly will cause more financial distress to many Americans is that these idiots are actually attempting to fix the problems. Here’s a clue – leave things alone get out of town and more importantly repeal all laws which do not pass a U.S. Constitutional test.

I proposed that a Free Market Judicial Court (FMJC) be formed and comprised of 5 free market economists. The FMJC shall have all legal authority to subpoena any legislator or member of Congress who is suspected of passing or thinking about passing any law which would have any artificial impact on the economy.

Finally, those who have had anything to do with passing anti-free market economic legislation and cronyism should be thoroughly investigated and forever barred from any form of interaction with the Federal Government in any capacity.

Missing the point
We start with the premise Democrat good, Republican bad. Add to that laziness and an inability to see beyond a pop culture perspective on the part of the press. What do you get? Obama - svelt, handsome, "looks" presidential. Bush - stupid, vain, obsessed with fitness. McCain - wrinkly old guy. Palin - wardrobe, glasses, and hairdo disasters. Cindy McCain - clothes cost too much. No substantive issues here because today's reporters aren't capable of thinking at that level.

Here's a little about my Physical Shape

Here are a few Gems that tell a little about my physical condition.

================

I am in such physical condition that I can touch my knees without even bending my elbows.
----------------

The last of the 768 steps in the Ulm Cathedral steeple are a narrow circular staircase, enclosed in the tower. I was in such physical shape that when I reached the top I wasn't even breathing hard. In fact, I almost wasn't breathing at all. (Ulm, Germany)
----------------

I had an awful ache in my back, in the muscle just above my wallet. It must be from reaching for it so often. Sweetie thinks the soreness is because my wallet muscle just hasn't been exercised enough. (Grand Bazaar, Istanbul, Turkey)
----------------

What is the difference between a cane and a walking stick? Answer, “Twenty years.” By now, it's more like twenty minutes, and I call it my Sympathy Stick, Doors open, people get out of the way … … ….
----------------

I told the doctor at the Heart Hospital that the pretty red-haired nurse could cause problems in a Heart Hospital. After an operation the patient might wake up and see her, and think he had died and gone to Heaven. (Rancho Mirage, CA)
----------------

I was riding my horse "Topsy" when three WW II P-38 fighter planes passed by, down the slope. I could look down and see the pilots in their transparent cockpits. I was hanging on with one hand, and waving with the other. The pilots were smiling and waving. (Martinsburg, PA)

(I now live a couple of miles from where that airplane was built.)

-----------------

To be fair
Michelle Malkin compares one article by one reporter with two others by two other reporters, one of which appeared in another paper and one by a reporter from another agency. Her case would be stronger if she used a general survey or stuck to one reporter or one paper. Even if all three journalists cited are Washington press corp., which I do not know, that's still only three.

And then what?
What happens when reporters run out of mushy goo to print about Obama? When every praise they print or broadcast is repetitious?

Will they just stop broadcasting & printing?
Or will they ever run out of lies and innuendo?
How much longer will anyone care what they print or broadcast?

Michelle
As usual you are right again. God smiles when you speak or write because you tell the truth when most of the media only knows how to lie and smear. Hope you are happily married but if not I would apply for the job. LOL God Bless you all. Gene

Enough to make one nauseous
Any person who exercises regularly thinks more clearly and positively, has more physical stamina, and more self-confidence. Period.

Doctors just put out a report that said Bush is in near-perfect health. Other reports said he has a heart beat that much younger men should envy.

These dumpy, overfed, reporters should get a life. But, alas, their main exercise for the next four years will be stumbling over each other to drool over Obama.

Bias
The media is so in the tank for Obama that anything that Bush does, no matter how innocent or as a good example is viewed negatively. We now have the journalistic integrity in this country of that in the old Soviet Union.

We have entered the Twilight Zone in this country and I fear for our future. I work with a man who says one reason he voted for Obama is that he looked "Presidential". I am not making this up. And he is not some clueless college kid. He is a family man in his 40's.

Between a fawning MSM and so many kool-aid drinking citizens the truth will be hard to find in the coming days. We need outlets like Townhall, Fox News, Wall Street Journal, etc. more than ever. If Reid, Pelosi, etc. succeed in reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, we are doomed. We better be prepared to fight that like our lives depend on it because they will.

This is what liberals call DIVERSITY!
I see nothing inconsistent here: one liberal writer praises what another criticizes. HA!

I see it's back to business as usual, but is this really in defense of President Bush or is it personal. I think you just threw President Bush in to look good. How can you or the MSM attack any one who likes to work out. Exercising is not a political crime. If President Bush was an addict of exercising, good for him. If President elect Obama likes to exercise too, good for him. Where is it written, it has to be all business all the time and no relaxing of the mind and body. Who cares if the world leaders sit on their butts and never exercises. Petty attacks serves no purpose, but gets the attacker ignored when they really should be listened to. Get the point.

Here I sit, visiting the mother-in-law post-Christmas in some Indiana coal town, wondering why ammo and reloading supplies are suddenly scarce -- meaning well-nigh gone in our major cities. Shelves are empty.

For tens and even hundreds of miles around my largish hometown in Eastern Tennessee stores are essentially out of primers, powder [rifle and pistol], bullets [.45, .40, .357] and ammo in the same calibers. This includes gun shops, WallyWorld, Sporting Goods stores, everything. Even Wolf is gone...at $10/box. Pistols themselves? Forget it.

It has occurred to me that Americans are arming themselves as never before under ANY president. Not just with light toys and plinkers but with SERIOUS armament.

Is it the same in the rest of the country? I am a gunnut, I suppose -- NRA, filled gun cabinet and all -- but this is a bit scary. Have we come to the point where we are preparing for something? If so, well...praise the Lord, etc. It is overdue.

Sadly, in Indy.

===========

I spent a couple of months at IU, 65 years ago, before I was bored out of my mind, and kids there called it Naptown.

My Uncle was Superintendent of Schools at Naptown, and he had never heard that name before.

A town about 60 miles from Naptown was named by and for my Great-GrandDad. So guess.

This article capably illustrates
the sorry state of what used to pass for journalism. The media can't get enough of their paper tiger. O can do no wrong. W can do nothing right. It's all as easy as A-B-C: make your diatribe fit this model and your byline will magically appear on some liberal rag. I have stopped reading print media out of pure disgust. I don't need the soupy drivel that used to be confined to romance novels and supermarket tabloids staring at me from the face of a major newspaper. As far as I'm concerned, these dinosaur publications have outlived their utility and the sooner they die, the better off we'll all be.

Who remembers the Clinton adoration
we had to endure at the beginning of his first term? I remember the pathetic attempts to get his mug shot in the paper every day of the week. Particularly memorable was the day he told us there weren't enough raisins in Raisin Bran. This passed as news. Deja vu.

I know you're probably not around because you posted a while ago, but I have to disagree with your assessment. Bush has never really proven to me, a conservative, that he is anything remotely resembling a conservative. I do believe that he is an honorable man and that he probably thinks he has done the best he can for his country, but he has demonstrated, by example, that he is quite, in the modern sense, liberal. I would define a conservative, in its simplest form, as someone who believes that the best government is the one that governs least. I've seen little evidence of conservatism by this definition for most of my life. What is your definition of conservative that has you believing that Bush is a representative of the conservative cause?

Obama's love fest
Not only has American Journalism died in 2008 but it is trying to reincarnate as a Obama Lovelorn Fest.

Does it really matter?!
Obviously these reporters who have poked and prodded at President Bush for taking time to work out don't value or see the importance of some one's health much less their own. I would highly suggest that these individuals do some research on diet and exercise. The journal of medicine recommends some form of aerobic exercise 30 minutes/day at least 3/4 days and max 5-6/days per week. Most people who are disciplined with exercise are also disciplined with their food intake/diet...No one should fault anyone for wanting to take care of themselves physically especially our President no matter who it is....

NaNANA NaNA NA
Hey Hey Hey Goodbye!

Malkin get with the love wagon sugar. It's gonna be a long 8 years for you.

silly article
Exercise is a good thing. And Obama's smoking has been covered by the press - even in conversations with Brokaw on NBC - so it's not like it's being ignored. If it were being ignored, how would you know about it?

We should all stop posting these things and get up and go for a walk.

0bama is fit
All the stories about 0bama's fitness come across like gay soft porn.

to world without socialism
look you will have to excuse me for being snide but after all you just wrote how can you sit there and say that Bush is a fine man? I mean he ran as a compassinate conservative and I thought we republicans could at least take our own candidates at THEIR WORD on BASIC DEFINTIONS.

If you say Bush is a liberal then I point my finger at you and say then why the heck did you vote for him and support his every obviously stupid liberal move? Bush would not classifiy himself as a liberal.

Bush has essentially given us American Socialism as his parting gift and now you blind deaf and dumb social conservatives are waking up to the fact you were had. Perhaps not every word that came out of Bush's head was so golden.

The Bush legacy will be three things-the folly in Iraq, socializing America(keeping us safe doesn't count when you kept us safe to destroy the underpinning of modern american society) and the end of the social conservtaive movement.

And to the man you say is a liberal-I simply say good riddance.

"When Sarah Palin couldn't name a newspaper she read I realized she was little more than an empty suits. A real republican would have answered.........."

Frank, get a clue. Sarah Palin IS a real Republican. If you are so shallow as to use the Katie Couric "interview" as your yardstick, then your discernment skills are sadly lacking.

Ronald Reagan was a "real" Republican, and he proudly said that he didn't read any newspapers.

The bottom line, as exemplified in Michelle's article, is that Republicans are damned if they do and damned if they don't, as it relates to the MSM.

There is no answer she could've given that would've satisfied Couric or any of the other biased liberals in media.

Only a simpleton would blame Sarah Palin for not taking the bait.

Annfan (Coulter? I hope not)
I thought the right had it's own media now!
TH, Lucianne.com, squalk radio, FoxNews Wall street journal, NYPost, Washington Times. Are not liberals damned if they do, damned if they don't now too by the RWM? I see it on Fox (AND CNN and MSNBC as well). Fairly critical of BHO in many areas!

Only a simpleton would still be complaining about media bias in this time of widely available national and international news sources. Left and right!!!

Unless your a sore loser and blame the media for republican setbacks.

Perfect Artile on Double Standard
The usual crud from the media. I am amazed that they don't see what two-faced bigots they are.

And then we have the groupies who are salivating over BHO's lanky frame. Are they thinking that his hands and foot size ensure that he is well endowed, too? This made be an outlandish statement but I can justify it nevertheless. Why? Because there are so many idiots out there.

Let's see what happens . . .
when the b. hussein obama "honeymoon" is over and the msm criticizes the "messiah. Will b hussein obama act like his mentor and idol, abraham lincoln and shut down news media outlets that criticize his pronouncements?
Nah, I must be dreaming.

MEANINGLESS
"Bodily exercise profits but a little,... But Godliness, profits in all things..having the promise of the life that now is, and the Life which is to Come."

"gym rat" is "hunky-dory"
For you hyper-sensitive, always looking for ways to be offended liberals out there, let me assure you that the term "gym rat" is not meant to be offensive or derogatory. As a long time fitness instuctor, we love the "gym rat" types and it is a compliment to those who are referred to as such. It refers to people who are dedicated to health and fitness and pursue it with vigor and zest. So move on and invent some other excuse to beat up on MM over, okey dokey?

Obamania
Obamania is taking its toll and he ain't even in office, yet! http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1208/16882.html.

I'm older than Obama
and I'll take him on in any contest of strength or endurance. That scrawny little wimp wouldn't be able to walk after trying to keep up with me for an hour in the weightroom. I've been lifting for 30 years, as opposed to Barry, who appears to have been lifting for as long as his handlers have been telling him to--a few months, it seems. As for endurance, I recently did a 100-mile bicycle ride. I doubt the pathetic, tobacco-addicted Obama could ride ten miles before having to stop and catch his breath. It boggles the mind how the sycophantic media morons can go on and on about how superbly fit a smoker is, and how many suckers actually buy this crap.

I'm beginning to despise
Obama the way I do many overexposed celebrities. The media fawning is sickening.

Changed my name. Was Worldwithoutsocialism. Been re-reading 1984. No, you are correct. I knew, during the second Bush election that he was, at the very least, domestically liberal. I have often been disconcerted by the venom of the left because most of his domestic policy was right in line with what democrats do. In answer to your question, yes, I do think he thinks he's doing what's best for the country. I also think that the market crash was interestingly timed, particularly given the democratic influence of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Be that as it may, all of these bailouts are just wrong. Having said that, I will always vote for what I believe to be the lesser of 2 evils. Bush compared to Kerry or Gore, for that matter, was better, particularly since we are in a war, no matter how much people in this country want to pretend otherwise. At some point, the bailouts will have to stop. Once that happens, the market can begin to recover. As long as government has a hand in business there will be no growth.

Ann Sarah Palin is no true Republican-she is a social conservative first-sorry. If Caroline Kennedy gets her senate seat we will able able to thank citizens like you who continued to choose ideology over substance. Sounds like any other liberals we know? thanks for helping sokdify this trend. You're doing a great job thinking outside the box. Really.

And the fact that Wrightiswrong seems to know more about the right wing media than you shows that you need to listen to liberals more-perhaps they can make some sense and get through to you because its pretty clear to me that the GOP will be fine without out you and those of your Sarah Palin worshiping ilk.

The funniest thing here to me is that is it my most feverent wish that all you social conservative pack up all your troubles in your old kit bags and start your own party with Sarah Palin at the head. Please, make this happen. Take Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, and Coulter with you when you go and don't let the door hit you where the dog bit you!

You say conservatism wins out every time when a true conservative runs on conservative issues?

Put your money where your big fat mouths are.

Global Warming
Isn't Barack adding to the global warming problem by exhaling even more due to rigorous workouts?
