Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The tale of Army Private Scott Thomas Beauchamp, the discredited "Baghdad Diarist" for the discredited New Republic magazine, is an old tale:

Self-aggrandizing soldier recounts war atrocities. Media outlets disseminate soldier's tales uncritically. Military folks smell a rat and poke holes in tales too good (or rather, bad) to be true. Soldier's ideological sponsors blame the messengers for exposing anti-war fraud.

Beauchamp belongs in the same ward as John F. Kerry, the original infectious agent of the toxic American disease known as Winter Soldier Syndrome. The ward is filling up.

U.S. military investigators concluded this week that Beauchamp concocted allegations of troop misconduct in a series of essays for The New Republic. "The investigation is complete and the allegations from PVT Beauchamp are false," Major Steven Lamb, a spokesman for Multi National Division-Baghdad, told USA Today. The New Republic is standing by Beauchamp's work. But Michael Goldfarb, online editor and blogger at The Weekly Standard who first challenged Beauchamp's writing, reported Monday that Beauchamp had "signed a sworn statement admitting that all three articles he published in the New Republic were exaggerations and falsehoods -- fabrications containing only 'a smidgen of truth,' in the words of our source."

To illustrate the soul-deadening impact of war, Beauchamp had described sitting in a mess hall in Iraq mocking a female civilian contractor whose face had "melted" after an IED explosion. "I love chicks that have been intimate -- with IEDs," Pvt. Beauchamp claimed he said out loud in her earshot. "It really turns me on -- melted skin, missing limbs, plastic noses." Beauchamp recounted vividly: "My friend was practically falling out of his chair laughing. The disfigured woman slammed her cup down and ran out of the chow hall."

It wasn't true. After active-duty troops, veterans, embedded journalists and bloggers raised pointed questions about the veracity of the anecdote, Beauchamp confessed to The New Republic's meticulous fact-checkers that the mocking had taken place in Kuwait -- before he had set foot in Iraq to experience the soul-deadening impact of war.

Military officials in Kuwait tried to verify the incident and called it an "urban legend or myth." Beauchamp's essays are filled with similarly spun tales. How much of a bull-slinger was Beauchamp, an aspiring creative writer who crowed on his personal blog that he would "return to America an author" after serving (which he told friends and family would "add a legitimacy to EVERYTHING I do afterwards")? The very first line of his essay "Shock Troops," which opened with the melted-face mockery, was this: "I saw her nearly every time I went to dinner in the chow hall at my base in Iraq."

"Nearly every time." At "my base in Iraq." Complete and utter bull.

Defenders of The New Republic, a left-leaning magazine infamously duped by another young and ambitious fabulist, Stephen Glass, say the Beauchamp saga has been 1) blown out of proportion; 2) perpetuated by sloppy, rumor-mongering bloggers; 3) used as a distraction from the troubles in Iraq; and 4) exploited by "chickenhawks" who deny that war atrocities happen.

But the truth is, you won't find a single Bush Kool-Aid drinker among the military bloggers, embedded independent journalists and active-duty troops who prominently questioned the Beauchamp sham. They know it ain't all going swimmingly overseas. But unlike Pvt. Beauchamp, they're committed to telling the whole truth about the war, not just approximations and embellishments that will score easy magazine gigs and future book deals with elite New York City publishers. The doubters of Scott Thomas know atrocities when they see them. But, unlike the TNR editors, they know steaming bull dung when they smell it.

Ever since John Kerry sat in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and accused American soldiers of wantonly razing villages "in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan," the Left has embraced a small cadre of self-loathing soldiers and soldier wannabes willing to sell their deadened souls for the anti-war cause. Think Jimmy Massey, the unhinged Marine who falsely accused his unit of engaging in mass genocide against Iraqis. Think Jesse MacBeth and Micah Wright, anti-war Army Rangers who weren't Army Rangers.

Winter Soldier Syndrome will only be cured when the costs of slandering the troops outweigh the benefits. Exposing Scott Thomas Beauchamp and his brethren matters because the truth matters. The honor of the military matters. The credibility of the media matters. Think it doesn't make a difference? Imagine where Sen. John Kerry would be now if the Internet had been around in 1971.

The Leftist media doesn't care about facts at all, as long as the agenda is being forwarded.

Truth? An inconvenient obstacle.

Another Lefty
"Defenders of The New Republic, a left-leaning magazine...."

The above says it all! He's a typical narcissist.

Is what he did a criminal act because he's in the military?

Right the Wrong
It is never too late to right a wrong. John Kerry, Jane Fonda, and now Sean Penn should be held accountable for their treason and/or sedition. To allow those disloyal people to continue to thrive in our Republic while pretending they are protected by the First Amendment is tantamount to defacing all the cemetery monuments of our fallen soldiers. Who is supposed to exact justice for treasonous acts? Who has been remiss? We need answers and we need to demand action.

Despicable leftist lies
Think of what the internet would be if not for bloggers like Michele - great column.

Army Private Scott Thomas Beauchamp belongs in Leavenworth, just as Kerry did.

Why, if it isn't Faster P-cat...
Fancy meeting you here.

Wasn't it barely 24 hours ago that you defied me to find you guilty of uncivility in posting?

I guess when you can't articulately criticize the message, there's always the messenger (Malkin) and her employer to attack. Oh, I forgot -- you're above name calling. I guess the "faux" was an unintentional typo.

And didn't I just read something above about stones and glass houses?

Tsk. Tsk. Might want to re-read and then pay a visit to the bathroom mirror for a realtime glimpse at hypocrisy. Can you spell "Ad Hominem"?

P.S. There are some interesting posts awaiting your reply over on Amanda Carpenter's last column...dealing with UHC from folks like myself and someone who actually lives in Australia and begs to differ with your glowing report about health care "down under." We're eagerly awaiting your responses.

BUSTED!
THAT'S what the internet does best!

If we had only HAD the internet back in the 60s - there would have been NO winter soldier.

Dear Michelle Malkin: If you should happen to read this, (or anyone else out there knows..):

Whatever happened about finding out WHY Kerry's date of separation was so far from the actual truth? (Like decades later..) DID he get in on some kind of pardon??

The dems are the liars
Hey Faster Pussycat,

was Bush lying in 1998, you know BEFORE he was ever the president, which didn't happen until January 2001?

I guess Bill Clinton, circa 1998, is a liar too:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ygQVyznw2zE

And all the other dems were lying too apparently:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=wLrjGq-V700
http://youtube.com/watch?v=hjgquIN4Rrw&mode=related&search=

Maybe the hypocrite dems should quit lying to themselves!

Stick with us Michelle

Who's BUSTED!?
That was pretty amusing, Mr. or Mrs. Well, now. Too bad Michelle Malkin BUSTED herself in 2004.

Maybe next time, Inspector Clouseau.

American patriots,
Just ignore fast puddy cat.

He didn't understand what Michelle wrote.
Poor Devil!

Don't try to cross any busy street because you
are a slow dog.

Amazing
Faster Pussycat is another troll. She can never admit when something is the truth, like a typical left-minded thinker.
That being said, Great column Michelle...Click my name and find the story "the truth is out there" Donate to LW's campaign to head to exactly where Beauchump is stationed. He's gonna bring us back some truth on the ground.

Babies like him
are rampant everywhere -- I bet when he was in school he routinely mocked fat girls, tripped geeks and sneered at his teachers, and the group of sycophants that surrounded him (not to mention his Mommy) told him regularly what a great joker he was. Those who read their own press releases don't get the whole story, Scotty. Now you are getting the other side.

Anyway, he should have paid attention during the last election; what you do is wait until you get your third fake Purple Heart and are sent home, before you start slagging the military you ostensibly belonged to. And today's Winter Soldier flees to Canada to hide out too.

Which troops to support?
I guess those that lean left are not worthy - those that agree in totality with Malkin's talking points are the heroes.
Re Kerry: innuendo without a scrap of proof is just as wrong as what Rather did about Bush's guard service - Chris Matthews chewed her up and spit her out during an interview in which she dodged and dodged when pressed to answer a question about what she wrote about Kerry
Re Michelle Holder of the Lamp of Truth and Goodness: Remember Jamil Hussein? She was wrong about that and couldn't even admit it.

Michelle when will you apologize for disparaging the actions of the 20 Medal of Honor recipients that Clinton recognized? For that matter who exactly in your family has been in the military?

Audir10
And your proof about your assertion is what besides conjecture?

Tweeter writes:
Michelle when will you apologize for disparaging the actions of the 20 Medal of Honor recipients that Clinton recognized? For that matter who exactly in your family has been in the military?

Medal of Honor Recipients? These were little more than political payoffs like letting some loyal diplomat be buried next to the tomb of the unknown soldier. As John Stossel would say give me a break. When a true hero like Michael New refuses to fight for the U.N. he is drummed out of the Army. When Genreral Campbell tells the truth about Clinton "Draft dodging, dope smokeing, womanizing, well you get the picture he is forced to retire. If John Kerry really saw these things happen why didn't he do something about it at the time? Why didn't he name names? These were all fabrications. Read the book Stolen Valor it gives more examples.

For the record I am Retired AF and served in the Gulf too young for Vietnam.

Rather than Winter Soldier Syndrome...
Why not add Kerrying to the vocabulary of new words including Nyfonging and Fitzpatricking.

Kerrying and to be Kerried is much shorter and to the point for people (I hesitate to use the word soldier) such as Beauchamp.

you keep using that word, i dont think..
it means what you think it means.

Lie doesn't mean "We made the best judgment we could on something and it turned out to be wrong".

It means : I knew something and said something else.

I keep asking WHAT IS THE LIE BUSH TOLD? The famous 11 words "British government has learned Saddam attempted to buy yellow cake from Nigeria" IS NOT A LIE, THE BRITS STILL STAND BY THE STATEMENT.

For a dose of real lies, just check out John Kerry's tales vis a vis his fellow troops(which he no doubt supports).

Here is an article telling where the John 'F-ing' Kerry got his urban legends:

http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110010438

The thing about true propaganda is that the fools come running out of the woodwork to lap it up as truth.

Faster Pussycat-Loony Lefties
Notice how the Lefty/Libs are almost completely and subjectively projecting some personal animosity in any discussion...never ever waste any time arguing with these intellectual retards, they are incapable of even recognizing truth...it is all about them!

funny
FP:"Do us a favor you worthless piece of dog excrement and go be the guest of honor at a single car fatality,"

And you have the gall to criticize anyone else's comments?

I note you did not answer my question, and you haven't taken your Tourettes medication.

I will bet you don't even know what liberalism is(its modern incarnation anyway).

For bonus points, give me the name of any corporation responsible for more than 200 deaths?

I can give you the names of Communist governments responsible for 100 million+. And yes I hate to break it to you, modern liberalism inevitably leads to Socialism which leads to Communism.

But hey, keep pushing for more control over everyones lives from Washington DC, its not like you have the brains to decide how to live yourself.

Liberals live in utter isolation from a truly harsh world- people like Kos who have only lived in a free country can spit on that freedom. they live in freedom afforded them by people who RESTRICT government, not those who gladly shackle themselves to it.

John Kerry, USNR, traitor
"Whatever happened about finding out WHY Kerry's date of separation was so far from the actual truth? (Like decades later..) DID he get in on some kind of pardon??"

$5 AND a cup of coffee, as a Junior Senator he got "someone" to change the dates.

As a Naval Reserve Officer he should have been reactivated, given an Art. 32 Hearing, a Court-martial, and be serving time at the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks, Ft. Leavenworth.

I heard a rumor from a friend of ours over there now, that this "clown" (Pvt. Scott Thomas Beauchamp, USA) is under some sort of "protective" order, since there are a few of his "comrades" that would like to "talk" to him.

Uh, faster pussycat
You never answered me, movie or group? Anyway, so you know Dick Cheney?? Wow, I'm impressed. Now, explain just why Cheney would want Pat Tillman killed? To what end? Makes no sense at all.
Then again, not much on the left makes sense. See, you guys do not debate. Your first post was nothing more than an internet hissy fit. You didn't like Michelle's article, fine. Instead of cursing through the web, present real facts and a real debate.
Your line of posting may work at the dailykos or huffington whatever, but it doesn't fly here.
So, just why would Cheney want Tillman dead and do you think it is fair to spread such a disgusting rumor for his family?

Fast P_ssy: Now that...
...you have seen fit to post all those things allegedly said on TH you can point to them as all being on TH when you talk to your ilk at DailyKos. Nice try, but I for one have never seen anything that bad (period). And anything half that bad would be immediately attacked as WRONG by others on TH.
-------------------------------------------------
BTW -- are you a personal friend of Vice President (Cheney) and privy to information like "he had Pat Tillman fragged". That is a first for my eyes. How about some proof of that allegation?
TBC :>(

vaquero
El Gato was on a post yesterday critisizing people for name calling and claiming to be much too refined to stoop to that level, today she's here acussing MM of oral sex. Not a double standard there.

But the best part is when she says if you don't think Dick Cheney would frag Pat Tillman then you don't know Dick Cheney (and I'm sure she really does). Of course there's no buy in to a conspiracy theory here, everyone in their right mind believes a Vice-President would roll a grenade under the bunk of any given soldier. Makes sense to me.

Anyone got an extra roll of tin foil, mine's about used up.

Michell
You said "Beauchamp belongs in the same ward as John F. Kerry, the original infectious agent of the toxic American disease known as Winter Soldier Syndrome. The ward is filling up".

That is the only thing you got wrong in your column. Kerry belongs in jail, not in a ward. And like Kerry, Beauchamp belongs in jail also. Actually, both of them should be doused with gasoline and set on fire so veterans can walk by them and urinate next to them without splashing the fire.

And yes, if not for the internet it would be like the 70s with the 3 major networks pushing this as "facts" and Beauchamp would be testifying before one of those "Democrap" investigating committees who then will find that Bush and Gonzales had made these evil soldiers mock poor face tortured girls in Kuwait.

Imperial Invasion of Iraq
This just keeps getting better all the time, I'd say something about Looney Tunes but Daffy Duck would be offended. If there was ever any doubt as to the standing of this character that one remark should pretty much spell it out. Talk about repeating the standard Party line, I wonder if one fist was clinched above the head as that was being typed.

And not to nit pick too awfully much, but wasn't Mr. Tillman in Afghanistan?

Easy Vic, saying ...
…..something like that about Kerry and Beauchamp may be how you feel, but it is not truly an appropriate thing to do to any human being (even the likes of these two)!
TBC :>(

Odd..
This one solider gets all the press, but the 50 or so that are interviewed here:

http://www.thenation.com/doc/20070730/hedges

No one has contradicted.

Hey Pussycat...
"Where were you when the Bush Administration lied their arses off to get us into this elective war?"

Enlighten us once and for all. I've heard nothing but "Bush lied, blah, blah, blah" from those of you on the left, and to date, I've not seen a single fact to corroborate those claims. Perhaps you have an intel source that your libtard friends don't.

Fill this column with your knowledge and accumen. Anything short of that, you're just another shill who has no concern for fact and history and just loves to shill libtard lies and BS.

Pussycat...
Name all the reasons for removing Saddam, and then show us the source that debunks them all.

The Black Cherokee
You're right, I got carried away.

Faster
You were considered a "right-wing troll" on Kos?!?

Either you're a liar...or those moonbats are more delusional and ignorant than humanly possible.

Faster
Were all the speeches on Iraq (many pre-Bush) by your democrat gods also lies?

Please answer this question!!

Faster Pussycat:Cognitive dissonance
Faster Pussycat, sufferers of BDS, et al:

Allow me to preface the following by stating I think Mr. Bush should impeached for his failure to secure our national borders- probably due to his slavish devote to the idiotic notion of “free trade.” Free trade destroyed the Bristish Empire- but that’s another discussion. That being said, I need to cite the following concept

“Cognitive dissonance: perception of incompatibility between two cognitions, which can be defined as any element of knowledge , including attitude, emotion, belief, or behavior (in lay men's terms, the uncomfortable tension that comes from holding two conflicting thoughts at the same time).”

Hence, how can the most ostensibly incompetent & verbally incontinent President ( at least according to the leftist MSM) in the history of the U.S. accomplish the most far reaching conspiracy in the history of the U.S., including manipulating prominent members of the Democrat party (that so viscerally hates him) into voting in support of the Iraqi invasion? A conspiracy that involved deceiving prominent European heads of state. Which is it? The more you “international socialists” spin your unsubstantiated conspiracy theories the more you sound like your national socialist forebears when they began their efforts to malign Jewry, i.e., sub-human but able to conceive & maintain a global cabal, or your feminist functional idiot counterparts who characterize women as being superior to men while at the same sustaining the myth of a ubiquitous but undefined “Patriarchy” that has historically oppressed women as a group for the benefit of men.

I have asked the same question of every hyper-emotional, left-wing myrmidon who has uttered the same banal “Bush lied, people died” mantra, and I have yet to receive a coherent answer. But do enlighten me.

Spoken as a true Party faithful..
..."I agree with them". Why does that not come as a suprise to me.

The Left has a leading presidental candidate who stands by his position that if we, the US, had information we felt solid he would feel justified sending troops into a country allied with our cause without the consent of that government. This same fellow critisizes going into Iraq, a country whose government was not friendly to our cause, on intelligence which was looked at and agreed upon by a majority on both sides of the aisle as being solid.

And these are the people we agree with? As I said, not suprising at all.

By the way, did ol' Dick talk to you about fragging Tillman while he was still in Iraq or did he have him secretly moved to Afghanistan before cooking up this master plan?

Tell me, do black helicopters follow you around?

Oh my brain hurts, somebody please please please hand me some tin foil.

I thought...
...the definition of that word was "oral sex", if not I stand corrected.

Icedog
You ever seen some of the stuff on Kos or Huff n Puff? Man, I think Marx is right wing to some of those cats.

Hey D, get ready for some links...
Now you've done it. FPuss is going to get carpel tunnel syndrome from all the Ctl-C, Ctl-V. She's even now cutting and pasting some informative links to nonbiased information on the web to enlighten your uninformed mind. Or maybe she'll just call you a moron and go on with her day. I'm all aquiver with anticipation.

By the way, you seem to have forgotten that Bush is an idiotic puppet being controlled by the real power in the administration, the most-evil Dick Cheney. Maybe you missed Puss' post about Cheney orchestrating the death of Pat Tillman in order to keep him from campaigning for John Kerry.

You really need to pay attention to what the libtards say...

Mr. Obama...
...was the fellow who advocated going into Pakistan if he were president and he felt compelled to, with or without the consent of their government. Surely thought you would have heard about that one. Does the evening news come on past your bed time or do you purposely not follow current events?

Tweeter: Really?
Re Kerry: innuendo without a scrap of proof is just as wrong as what Rather did about Bush's guard service

+What innuendo?
-Kerry has never publicly refuted a single FACT cited by the “Swift Boat Veterans.”
-Kerry has refused to submit his USN medical records for public review since said records would shed light on “Battle wounds” Senator Kerry supposedly suffered which resulted in three (3) Purple Hearts
-Kerry and his fellow “Winter Soldier” veterans did in fact fabricate the stories they conveyed during Congressional interviews.

- Chris Matthews chewed her up and spit her out during an interview in which she dodged and dodged when pressed to answer a question about what she wrote about Kerry

+ Actually, being a self-loathing white male apparently grants Mr. Mathews the gravitas & moral superiority IOT function effectively as a BULLY and not allow Ms. Malkin an opportunity to talk, much less response to his left-wing biased statements.

Re Michelle Holder of the Lamp of Truth and Goodness: Remember Jamil Hussein? She was wrong about that and couldn't even admit it.

+ As I recall, the J.Hussein matter is still open for debate

Michelle when will you apologize for disparaging the actions of the 20 Medal of Honor recipients that Clinton recognized? For that matter who exactly in your family has been in the military?

+I don’t know anything about the 20 CMoH recipients you’ve cited, but I recall that the father of one of the SF snipers (i.e., Somalia military misadventure) who posthumously received the CMoH called Clinton a physical coward & embarrassment to his face at the awards ceremony. The MSM unfortunately didn’t convey this news item.

So by modifying with journalistic...
...that word now becomes a compliment? It somehow takes the crudeness of the mental image away? It makes the use of such a word more refined and dignified in a more up scale kind of way?

You will forgive me on this one but to my thinking the use of one particular word before the use of that one does little to change the meaning and to do that while claiming some moral high ground for not being abusive and abrasive does little to give a person credability.

Faster
Who do you consider our greatest president, and who do you hope wins the WH in '08?

Just trying to understand your views....

Demosthenes
Actually, the last I heard the J..Hussein matter was reopened and MM was vindicated as being correct in the fact that the entire issue was a fraud by AP. The so called Iraqi military source recanted.

If my description was oblique...
...then I do apologize. This has only been covered in the news, was brought up in the last Dem debates, Pakistanis have been demonstrating, shoot even the six page local news paper down here had a write up on it.

If my description was truely that vauge to you then may I suggest you start following what is happening in the world a bit closer and then get back to us with your talking points.

if you think F P-cat is a liberal/dem...
you're clueless...

a stance on one issue does not make a person a liberal... if that were the case then Rudy would be next to hillary for supporting abortion

Ron Paul gets the same treatment... all he said is "if there is no progress come September, we need to pull out ASAP" and he got branded not a republican.

If you look at the advertisement for the GOP on TH the four things it says are "Lower Taxes, Reduced Government, More Freedom, Strong National Defense"

What candidate does that better than Paul? The only thing you can question is his "strong defense" but he adamently states he supports going in after terrorists locations and closing our borders. He just doesnt want to nation build and go after countries that have done absolutely nothing to us.

Romney wants the government to regulate the internet/television. Are we in Germany circa 1942? Do you trust the government that much? I dont. Heaven forbid someone like Hillary would get power. Shed have the power to eliminate sites that oppose her. Scary...

MM
Ahhh.. Nothing like a MM column to get'em riled up. FP:Cato is not exactly a bastion of conservatism, either.

Pussycat
Do you have any evidence that the liberal postings on TH are censored? Considering the rants and spew I've seen, I find your claim incredible.

FP: WOW
“I'm certain President Cheney could explain it to you. Boy George is barely more than a figurehead.”

Wow. Bravo. I am genuinely impressed w/ your immediate segue toward’s the involvement of the MSM’s favorite evil overlord: “Darth” Cheney. That being said:

+ Please provide evidence other than the usual “Halliburton/Oil- industry” conspiracy bromides; and
+ I didn’t realize that “land grant” universities like the University of Wyoming was able to graduate such a Machiavellian genius who is able to deceive and manipulate every ostensibly-brilliant, Ivy-educated, left-wing politician, e.g. Madame Clinton, into supporting said war.

Next questions:
+When do you plan on segueing over to the MSM’s other right-wing Boogeyman: Karl Rove?
+Since Senators Edwards & Clinton were so easily deceived and manipulated by the likes of Dick & Karl Rove, wouldn’t that automatically disqualify them from being considered viable Presidential Candidates in world full of ACTUAL Badmen?

PS: Don’t attempt to master the game of Chess, since you have demonstrated that you incapable of thinking at least 3 moves in advance.

Icedog
The new (and welcome) policy of limiting posts to 2000 letters has stopped the liberals and (and Ron Paul fans) from copying and pasting huge rants into the "comments" field. That is "liberal" censorship.

The Trolls just can't believe...

How many times do we have to tell you that New World Communications is NOT the same thing as "Fox News"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_World_Communications

That's the Fox ENTERTAINMENT Network, the network that produces fictional shows like "24". I believe the case you're talking about is actually a case involving WTVT-TV Tampa, one of the news programs on one of the local affiliates of that network.

You don't know what you are talking about.

Give it up already! You don't have a clue how broadcast television works.

Demo
When you hit them with that much logic and commonsense at one time it just makes them run back to their hole.

...and bringing a gun to a knife fight isn't very sporting of you.

Actually it wasn't a gaffe...
...and the man has stood by what he said, personally I respect that, I maynot agree with what he said but can appreciate a person standing by their words.

As to not hanging onto every politicians utterence, I can certainly understand that however when that person is a front runner for candidacy to President I tend to try and listen to what they are saying. Not being a personal friend of Dick Cheney and all, I don't have any inside privy on information so I have to actually listen, read and formulate my own opinions. Gets kind of tiresome at times, making up your own mind instead of having The Party do it for you, but it is rather rewarding. You should try it.

Oh, don't take that "inside privy" part wrong, we have indoor flush toilets and running water these days, not to mention electric lamps all thanks to Mr. Johnson and the REA.

Hey folks don't take the bait
If you haven't figured it out yet one of the tactics of the Left is clog up websites like TH. You will never "win" an argument with someone who believes the lies about people telling lies is the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

In many cases some sentences are almost identical to posting on other sites just under a different name. Some might be paraphrases to protect the guilty.

Having argued with the Left most of my life they can seldom debate from facts. They are well trained in the art of using logical argument fallacies. Of course their favorite is attack ad hominem but they can be more subtle.

If a war crime every was committed in any war then there are war crimes being committed today by USA troops. Since the Left lives by relative morality an American soldier accidentally shooting an unarmed "civilian" is a war crime but our enemy blowing up kids accepting candy from Americans is the fault of the Americans not our enemy. Our enemy know the Western Left well and have no compulsion in using their attributes to the fullest. Irony is that the Left just don't get it! They are convinced they will not be eaten by the crocodiles. In fact if our enemy wins the Left will be at the top of the menu.

War Haters
It seems that the most vocal "peace lovers" are usually those that would never have what it takes to pick up a rifle and defend this country or their own families for ANY reason.

These little boys seem to resent the young men that are strong enough to suck it up and go to war in an effort to protect us all.

A ramrod-straight U.S. Marine has a way of exposing guys like Beauchamp, or Kerry for that matter, and showing them up for what they really
are...inadequate. They don't like that.

As far as Mr. Obama's remarks...
...not being "particularly crucial", well I guess not. Unless of course you consider the Pakistani government, which is at least partially sympathetic to us, is barely hanging on by a thread with the extreme militant wing of the local islumists ready to step in and did you know (which I'm sure this came up during your breakfast with Cheney) but those extreme mooselums who want control of Pakistan don't like us. No, they don't, not even a little bit.

By the way, did ol' Dick happen to mention to you that Pakistan has a "new-clur" arsenal.

Not that any of that is particularly crucial when it comes to listening to potential presidents speak.

Faster Pussycat
Is a Typical Liberal. They think if you tell a LIE LONG enough and LOUD ENOUGH, it becomes THE TRUTH!

FP seemed fairly agitated today. Could it be worms, hairballs?!

I guess you could somewhat be considered an "independent". However, I do find it interesting that when looking back, you lean to the right, but in the present or looking to the future you lean to the left.

Shouldn't past proven ideology sway you over ideology that's been constantly proven a failure?

We need someone who will fix OUR countries problems first and not insight war with the rest of the world.

He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."

He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

I didn't realize I had...
...argued against Irans nuclear program. Somehow I was under the impression I had mentioned Pakistans arsenal and opined as how I would not like to see it fall into unsympathetic hands.

Had I been discussing reasons to invade or not invade Iraq and been unaware of Pakistans weapons then that would seem to classify as being behind the curve. The context of my statement was in relation to what Mr. Obama had said. Again, I apologize if that too was oblique.

As to Musharraf's position being in jeopardy, any person in that position who is not a radical is in jeopardy. Does his thin alligance with us help, of course not but our presence in Iraq has not been the deciding factor in his problems. Unrest in Pakistan is not a recent occurance and any dealings the leader of that country has with the west, particularly the US, will inflame the radicals. Ask Dick Cheney about this the next time you two have cocktails, he can explain it a lot better I'm sure.

As to the great mooselum bomb, that was assured to happen in the summer of 1945 when the first atomic device was detonated. This technology would never have been contained, if there is anything suprising at all it is that it has taken this long to spread.

Some how I get the feeling that if I'm behind a curve around here it's because somebody else is putting a whole lot of spin on that ball.

This is how the left supports the troops
Remember how the left rationalized their attempts to undermine our efforts in Iraq?

"We support the troops but not the war."

So how have they supported the troops?

Are they sending donations to Adopt-a-Soldier?

Are they sending money to Operation AC?

Are they contacting the armed forces to get the names of soldiers who are lonely and depressed so they they can send them a note of encouragement, a pack of chewing gum, a CD, some chew, some smokes, or some junk food?

No.

They instead have taken every opportunity to disparage the troops right down to the individual level.

John Kerry has accused the troops of breaking down civilian's doors in the dark of night.

Jack Murtha has accused Marines of murdering civilians in the midst of an ambush/fire fight. He has refused to retract his accusation or apologize for it even though the allegations have been substantially disproven.

The left virtually celebrated the "torture" of Abu Ghraib, as if it had anything to do with whether we should be in Iraq.

The left took an obviously false (and stupid) accusation by partisan writer Michael Isikopf of Newsweek that a Koran had been flushed at Gitmo and turned it into another virtual celebration of 'proof' of the wickedness of our troops.

And now we have this idiot trying to create a career in journalism for himself at the expense of the guys in his own unit(s).

The only thing a soldier can do to become a hero is get captured (Jessica Lynch) or die (Pat Tillman), and then the left will cynically lie about the circumstances of it, because to the left a soldier is nothing more than a political pawn.

The left tries to convince us that they support the troops, but they can't pull it off because they can't help being themselves.

Please don't lump all of us with some of the misfits in the military when you say "you folks". I'm willing to bet that you have had your share of experiences with military misfits. I remember some.
If it's proven that a crime has been committed, then by all means the perpetrators must punished accordingly and severely.

In 1998
the Congress voted 286-133 to promote regime change in Iraq. I believe CLinton was pres.

In 2003, the Senate voted 87-13 for emergency supplement funding for a war in Iraq.

Iraq had faced 17 formal resolutions about enforcing its agreements at the end of the 1991 Gulf War. The UN voted the last resolution ordering compliance with WMD inspections, compliance with all peace agreements, ceasing of firing on planes monitoring the demilitarized zones. Saddam responded by throwing out the UN inspectors.

When the US invaded Iraq, the entire world including China and Russia agreed Iraq had WMD. Iraq's own Rep. Guard went into battle in Baghdad in hazmat uniforms. The UN and US Senate have twice validated that Saddam had sought yellow cake uranium in Africa, Joe Wilson's lies to the contrary.

If you don't like war in general, not many people do, but wars do solve problems. The Civil War here ended extreme sectional strife, arguments over states rights and the Constitution, and slavery. (The Spn. Emp. cont'd slavery until 1898, when we beat Spn. at war.) WW I ended the stalemate in the trenches outside Paris in the allies favor, and WW II ended Nazis aggression and death camps in Europe; Japanese expansion in Asia. The Vietnam War helped end the USSR communist empire, and the war in Iraq is ONE step in a hundred years war against Islamic extremism.

Willi Beax
You are correct. That was a generality in response to another but yes I certainly did meet my share of misfits. I don't think that anyone will get punished CYA even when caught seldom is punished for reasons we both know...

You Dems keep trotting out that lie about the military hyping the Jessica Lynch story. The following is cliiped from your favorite paper, the NY Slimes:

Accusations that the military played up Private Lynch’s rescue for its own publicity purposes are also false. As someone who witnessed the operation from the planning to the execution, I can tell you it was one of the most spectacularly executed rescues I’ve seen in my 36-year career. Our receiving word of Private Lynch’s rescue — and subsequently, news of the rescue of the other prisoners — was a high point of the war for all of us at CentCom.

So the news media and politicians are the ones who hyped the story, the military tried to throttle them back.

I did not post the entire article because of space limitations. The link to the story is no longer available.

Right. That's why in 2004 the left nominated a Senator to run for Prez that "...voted for the $87 billion before I voted against it."

That's why most of the opposition to military spending has always come from the Democrats.

And...

"The 'Left' is not a monolithic structure."

Regarding your two points to me earlier, and my apologies for being tardy.

First, I did not "dare" to make nice a bad situation, I stated the government should not have tried putting a positive light on it.

Second, you know what you nailed it with your statement. It wasn't a theory, you are correct, it was in fact a conspiracy and then you stated it was an example of hiding the real war from the public. You used this incident to justify a belief in deeper conspiracies of a government bent on hiding the truth.

And yes I read the article, this young man will either have a stelar career ahead of him in New York or Hollywood or else he won't be able to get a job mopping floors. But I believe your analogy was correct in that both his and the Tillman story were based on lies, I'm not sure you have taken offense to this young mans actions although I may have missed that.

Don't waste your time with Hal's link. There's not one iota in it about any liberal actually DOING anything for the families of the military. It's just another hit piece on Bush.

If Hal and his fellow travelers wanted to actually DO something they might set up a private charity and ask voluntary donations, like Frankie Mayo has done with Operation AC.

After all, they claim 70% of the country opposes the war, so they ought to be swimming in contributions in no time.

But that's too much like work. And besides, it would only give the conservatives (who would actually comprise most of the donors) cause something to feel proud, and we know that what the left does best is try to make everyone feel guilty.

That's why when Hal gets one of his anti-Bush hit pieces 'published' at Huffington with the introduction "I like this blogger" he can't wait to run around to all the sites he visits (infests) and post it like he's actually accomplished something.

Meanwhile, the military families he claims to care so much about haven't been helped one bit.

you wrote: "Want to know how we support the troops with stuff like this:...link removed.

It amazes me at the ignorance some people have about those great Dem-pushed programs to reduce the military (BRAC being one) and the supposed benefits being taken away.

Hal those benefits have been being removed from active duty installations for years. An example is the military used to get gas cheaper on base but the Dems pushed through a brilliant idea of this being unfair to the local economy and required the bases to charge the average low that was found off-base. Another example is family members and retirees have been virtually removed from the base medical facilities due to the down sizing of the military. Instead they are required to use TriCare Standard or the mil version of an HMO called TriCare Prime whereby the military member/retiree must pay a yearly premium and co-pays.

The main thing I see in your link is the whining associated with the loss of a facility because of BRAC. I've seen this for many years especially when the facility is located in a liberal area. Their Congressional members thought it was cool to bash the military while receiving the gravy (money) locally, that is until a facility in their area came under the scrutiny of BRAC.

LMAO nope it lets you not be responsible yet again and feel "proud" because you "donated" what you sholud have paid. Go job few soldiers will stop to beg to live even though that is exactly what you want

"hat's why when Hal gets one of his anti-Bush hit pieces 'published' at Huffington with the introduction "I like this blogger" he can't wait to run around to all the sites he visits (infests) and post it like he's actually accomplished something."

Actually I visit few but want results? Let's see what happens

"Meanwhile, the military families he claims to care so much about haven't been helped one bit."

You are approving of literally stripping widows and children of food -- I now realise you are incapable of shame

"It amazes me at the ignorance some people have about those great Dem-pushed programs to reduce the military (BRAC being one) and the supposed benefits being taken away."

BRAC was all R this time. Supposed shall I take you for a stroll through a base? Happy to.

"Hal those benefits have been being removed from active duty installations for years. An example is the military used to get gas cheaper on base but the Dems pushed through a brilliant idea of this being unfair to the local economy and required the bases to charge the average low that was found off-base. Another example is family members and retirees have been virtually removed from the base medical facilities due to the down sizing of the military. Instead they are required to use TriCare Standard or the mil version of an HMO called TriCare Prime whereby the military member/retiree must pay a yearly premium and co-pays."

Oh tell me about it. And no it was not all Democrats. Actually it started with Carter/Reagan. But now they are being reduced to pay for Iraq which I find amazing LMAO you go shop military cuts pay for war

"The main thing I see in your link is the whining associated with the loss of a facility because of BRAC."

Oh no the issue is far more dear. This is about sending folks off to war and removiongh their support system. This is Guard and Reserve and they need these facility now before no now yes.

"I've seen this for many years especially when the facility is located in a liberal area. Their Congressional members thought it was cool to bash the military while receiving the gravy (money) locally, that is until a facility in their area came under the scrutiny of BRAC."

Yes all those liberal military folks LMAO I thought they did not exist? FYI I live no where near either facility but I am a patient at Walter Reed.

You say you support the troops? How Oh I know buying AC and shopping - you almost disgust me

Flame
Would you object if I use your comments in one of my blogs?

Hal
No problem using them intact instead of piece meal like you did just now. Note I said a liberal area and their Congressional representatives not liberal military although there are some. I would request a note so I can see what you've posted.

Ask if you want more on the BRACs that I have been through or the cuts that I have seen and been through. Where was the lib ire in the past for the lack of facilities or support? Where was the concern for disabled vets? I served under several administrations including Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton. I am a retired, disabled, veteran of 22 years, served in Special Operations, father to an active duty Marine, she has served in Iraq. Just thought you should know this is coming from someone who has BTDT.

Perhaps you should also look at the Dems support for the military. Just punch in Murtha, Clinton, or your favorite liberal to see a lot of talk but no substantive action in support however you will find plenty of substantive action in opposition to the military.

Sleep well tonight for your military stands guard to protect everyone not just a few chosen elite.

Until Gore I agree with you. I served 20 years in the military mostly in fighters and sadly just got my claim number. So no I am not a virgin either. I started under Johnson and said enough at Bush 1. I have two nephews who were in Iraq, one who I personnally commissioned (he is now out disabled) and one who is back in country yet again.

This is not a R/D issue. Actually Rick Santorum started the effort to preserve at least the commissary and PX and BRAC directed more services be preserved. What has happened is just when the guard and reserve deployed they started shutting down the support facility. No one wants to stop BRAC but they do want BRAC complied with. You are a career guy you have to know exactly what I mean

Hal
I saw several instances of LMAO in your writings. Are you old enough to vote?

Either way, how do you keep your pants up?

And regarding this:

"Did you guys just see Jon Soltz trash Buzz Patterson on Oberman"

Who? Who? Who?

AZPhil
Oh that is right you folks only watch no way fair and balanced LMAO. I cannot help it I mean comments like your do make me laugh out loud.

"Either way, how do you keep your pants up?"

With great difficulty on here

It is so easy to shift gears and talk about poor wittle michelle and the mean ol white guy when convenient. She dodged and dodged just as she did when asked about her parents immigration status.
But let her stir up you and the other Malkinites about black-white and immigration issues and watch the mealy mouthed defenders of her totally trash blacks and hispanics.

She did say that about the MOH recipients and nothing can change it. As for Jamil she issued a statement (or errata) as she says that glossed over the fact that she had it completely wrong.

Do you happen to know the book "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien, a description of combat life in Vietnam? At one point O'Brien describes an American soldier, somewhat deranged by the death of his buddy, methodically shooting a cow one body part at a time. He takes vengeance on a farmer's cow.

How would you have us react to this? By saying that no American soldier would do anything bad so O'Brien is lying?

Beware of assuming that information you don't like is automatically a lie and that information you do like is automatically truth.

The expose of terrible conditions at Reed was run by the Washington Post, a liberal paper.

Makes an excellent point
The truth is that not since the imbedded liberals took over the institutes of higher learning "back in the sixties" have we had many people turned out of the so-called institutes of higher learning with the back bone of a Michelle Malkin..

What I am forever amazed at is how so many like the John Kerry's of the world wriggle their way into public service and are continually returned to same even after their charades are made public.

If the masses had a spine rather than the dumbed down intellect of the PC crowd then the Kerry's and Kennedey's of the world would have been chased out of office long ago. Not just for their politics but for their hideous actions, most of which would have put the average citizen behind bars for a considerable period of time.

The problem is that one no longer hears about co-dependency (it doesn't sell) and along with the new brain washing of America it has become fashionable to be a victim and look to "mommy and daddy" government to FIX everything.

Ah ain't it grand...when the con artists and spin meisters such as the Beauchamps of the world are given instant press and recognition sans the vetting yet when someone danes to question the validity of these peoples stances they are instantly put under the microscope.

Using Olbermann's show as a reference is poor at best. I have no problem with him being opinionated however his grasp on reality and facts is virtually non-existent. He kinda reminds me of a 2nd Lt that thinks he knows everything and refuses to learn from his senior NCOs.

Yes, I was a career NCO. I am tired of the misrepresentation especially about the benefits. First, the commissary/BX prices are no different than say WalMart because of congressional action removing the benefit. Again with medical, rarely are families seen by base physicians. The Guard and Reserves have always had restricted benefits including limited commissary/BX privileges and the medical was virtually non-existent. To then claim that these privileges were being removed by closure actions is disingenuous.

Do I think all the military (active, guard, reserve) should have assistance, YOU BET. Is pointing to an action (BRAC) that has been ongoing for over a decade as the cause right? NO Instead why don't we hold our congressional members feet to the fire and demand that our military personnel be provided benefits ahead of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS? Here our Congress wants to provide benefits to illegals while at the same time denying benefits to military members and retirees. I was a single dad when I retired and was not eligible for any benefits meanwhile I see at the same time disabled military also not eligible for benefits. Instead I see illegal immigrants not only being afforded sanctuary but provided with benefits denied to our veterans. That is the disgrace not one small base in any state.

On Judgement and Lies and Fraud.
The demon History sees all, History writes it all down, notwithstanding all the long words and long pointed boney fingers of the supporters of the liar and fraud Lt. John F. Kerry and his evil brood of Jane Fonda's etal. All the long term talking heads like Tim Russert who know each nite as they go to sleep they do not have the full Navy records of said, Lt. Kerry, and never will unless truth wins out in this struggle. The New York Times owners and editors know the real truth, so do the other U.S. Senators of the Democrat party who now sit with the known traitor in OUR U.S. Senate, all these and many others know the truth but would rather live the lie they built, now hanging around all their necks until the final judgement of History.

Do not think that the truth of History has died just because the liberal loon thinking exibited herein gets repeted over and over by blind fools who too do not wish to know of truth, History will judge, not the words now being fought with, the Demon History will ride out of the shadows and he and his huge red eyed demon horse will with sharpe hooves and anger write the truth in the dust of the lies and fraud made heavy by the lazy liars of the current press, college profs and other ner-do-wells who now ruin the former Democratic party.

Posters here who do not want to know truth have my plesure of accepting the judgement from History along with others noted above. I and 100,000's of other Vietnam Veterans know the truth and stand with the truth in hand in our souls for all to see, yet so many clutch still at Lt. Kerry's silly selfserving lies and fraud, which is only very sad for those who so chose, and sad for their emortal souls to be sold so cheap.

Judgement will come, for all, judgement never dies.

ps:
This new one, just a "cheap chump", compared to the true evil of the prior Lt. Kerry and his lies and fruad as they set so much evil into motion.

Oh well...
I gave FP more than a day to come up with all that I asked him/her to prove, and he/she has chosen to run away and hide.

Typical libtard screeching...

Glorified war stories are not new. The Vietnam War led to many very false stories about our in-country service. Hollywood continues the myth-Rambo, Apocolypse Now, Platoon immediately come to mind. Apparently many people-former peaceniks included-jumped onto the bandwagon.
From 1961 to 1974 only 2.7 million plus uniforms served in country. The year 2000 DOD estimates count surviving number of Vietnam in-country vets to be a little over 1 million. No, before you jump to conclusions our suicide-rates are much lower than the general veteran or civilian populations. At the same time, the 2000 census numbers the Vietnam in-country vets at over 13 million. How can this be when only 2 plus million ever served in-country? A lot of wannabes maybe.
