The Dems' pre-emption strategy

Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Finally, Democrats have a battle plan. This month, they went to war -- on the American electoral process. Their pre-emption strategy? Call into question the results of the midterms even before Election Day had begun.

Brigadier General Nancy Pelosi of the 8th Drapery Division led the charge in an interview with her hometown San Francisco Chronicle last week:

Pelosi cautioned that the number of Democratic House victories could be higher or lower and said her greatest concern is over the integrity of the count -- from the reliability of electronic voting machines to her worries that Republicans will try to manipulate the outcome. "That is the only variable in this," Pelosi said. "Will we have an honest count?"

The "only variable"? How about the variable of voters making up their own minds?

Two days before the election, left-wing Boston Globe columnist Robert Kuttner also advanced the Democrat strategy of pre-emptive delegitimization -- which Boston radio talker Michael Graham rightly characterized as "Either We Win Or You Cheated."

Wrote Kuttner: "[U]nless there are levels of theft and fraud that would truly mean the end of American democracy, a Democratic House seems as close to a sure thing as we ever get in American politics three days before an election. . . . November 2006 will be remembered either as the time American democracy was stolen again, maybe forever, or began a brighter day."

Meanwhile, a gaggle of left-wing lawyers and college students mobilized at the polls to "protect" the integrity of the voting process. Behind the civic-minded facade of these groups, including the Election Protection Coalition and Video the Vote, are far-left radicals whose main concern is not in ensuring a fair election process -- but in pre-emptively undermining and delegitimizing it.

Video The Vote is led by anti-Bush documentarians who champion Cynthia McKinney's race-card politics and tinfoil hat conspiracies about 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina. The supposedly "bipartisan" poll watchers are supported by Norman Lear's People For the American Way and MTV. Allied with this coalition are the likes of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) -- the liberal advocacy group that has turned the minority voter registration business into a government boondoggle and corrupted the very process it claims to guard. Last week a federal grand jury in Kansas City indicted four ACORN workers in an illegal scheme to register voters with 15,000 fraudulent forms using bogus names, signatures and addresses.

What did the Democrats have to say about the ACORN indictments and other ACORN fraud probes stretching from Wisconsin and Colorado to Ohio, Tennessee and Pennsylvania?

Nada.

The "stolen election" virus and Democrat blind spot on liberal voting fraud have afflicted the Left since 2000. Leading up to the 2004 election, Jesse Jackson played the pre-emption card: "The big issue in Florida is not whether we vote, the big issue is vote suppression." Failed Democrat vice presidential candidate John Edwards echoed the warning: Republicans were "up to their old tricks . . . trying to keep people from voting."

And last April, failed Democrat presidential candidate John Kerry's wife, Teresa, blamed the Democrats' loss in 2004 on rigged Diebold voting machines. She openly questioned the election results and fixated on areas of the country where optical scanners were used to record votes. "Two brothers own 80 percent of the machines used in the United States," Mrs. Heinz Kerry intoned, and it is "very easy to hack into the mother machines."

Asked for evidence of her "mother machine"-hacking theory, the ketchup heiress refused further comment. But a cacophony of conspiracy theorists and mainstream Democrats have since taken up Kerry's moonbat baton, from Truther types to Black Box paranoiacs to Hillary Clinton.

Never mind the glaring contradiction of their attack on a Bush administration too incompetent to govern, yet so nefariously efficient and devious that it can rig hundreds of thousands of voting machines to deny the Democrats their "honest count" and entitled victory.

When all is said and done this week, one thing will be resoundingly clear: The Dems' election pre-emption plan -- like all their plans -- is a phony vehicle to sow seeds of doubt, paranoia and chaos as substitutes for action.

Dems are SURE Reps steal elections...
... because they know they do it themselves at every possible opportunity.

Here's what that proves:
The Dems say a lot of things they can't know and don't mean. They've been gloating about a win for a year, and yet when it came time to vote they began preparing their excuses for winning.

EDIT
"began preparing their excuses for winning."

That should be "losing", sorry.

Keep Talkin, Malkin
make all the excuses you want, sweetie - the Republican's had their chance and failed.

The American public has spoken.

NO EXCUSES NEEDED
Well Mrs. Malkins, looks like with the gains the Democratic party made, you could have used your energy writing another article.

Well, Sweat Tea
It looks like they won't be needing those excuses now, will they?

Wipe your nose and accept defeat - then stop the hate so we can actually start working as a country again....

Election fraud

If anybody finds a collection of alleged election fraud, on either side, please post it here. I've only been hearing one side today.

P.S. Quit yo jibber-jabber, Malkin.

.

Some more history
The picture of the minimum wage hike strategy was perfectly placed. The liberals used every playbook in the "create a crisis" strategy to win.

Furthermore, that picture was appropriate because the weapon of choice for Democrats was to create a "crisis" of low wages, and mandate a higher state minimum wage in battleground states. In many cases, the minimum wage hike includes a cost-of-living adjustment each year, making the minimum wage higher every year.

The Democrats' strategy of creating the wage crisis worked, and they used every bit of strategy learned in 2000 and 2004 to steal this election.

However, will the new blue states create a situation where they will not be friendly for industry?

Well, The Dems Took The House
I hope all you idiots that didn't vote Republican can speak Spanish; yo lo puedo.

To the 100 Million Mexicans
that will be arriving shortly, Bienvenidos a los EEUU, nuevos vecinos.

On the Bright Side
One hundred million mexicans that can't speak English arriving in California will be just great for my career. The democratic welfare they'll be receiving will be even better as they'll be able to pay me.

Oh, and I just remembered. I already have a business plan on how I can make money bringing these people into the country myself, and investors. It just got put on hold when the Republican house got rid of the comprehensive reform bill.

Yes, I can definitely handle a Democratic house.

Eshine
You have the nerve to say "stop the hate... so we can start working as a country again...". Republicans should do exactly what the Dems have been doing for the last 6 years. I WANT A RECOUNT, and another and another. Even then I won't accept the FACTS that I lost. I will b1tch, whine and complain daily, I will see a shrink for some lame psycobabble because I lost etc, etc. Luckily for the Dems, conservatives are a bit more mature. We will deal with our loss and attempt to keep the damage to a minimum while the nutcases are in office (I don't mean to imply that all Dems are nutcases. Most are intelligent working stiffs like the rest of us. They just elected a bunch of nut cases to represent them). Besides, 2008 is just 2 years away...

"Make the Minimum Effort...
...And Earn A Living"

Take that time you use for marching and go earn money via a job.

Thasic says
"Besides, 2008 is just 2 years away". I can't wait. The we can continue the sweep.

Bigots will be Bigots...
- Bobby, you don't seem bigoted, but you sure seem desperate in trying to come up with reasons for the massive Republican loss tonight, other than the fact that they have been in power long enough and have done a poor job. Americans are tired of a divided country and a mess of a war - and I think the biggest mistake Republicans made was implying that by voting Democrat, we would be "less safe" from terrorism. Americans aren't as stupid as Pubs would like them to be and we saw right through the BS

- jerubaal,

You certainly are a bigot - and a big part of the reason your party lost.

Everything means everything else
They want to change the Electoral College. If not Constitutionally, then by an interstate "compact". They want to change the Constitution, if not by Amendment, then by penumbra-visionary liberal judges who read their own opinions and think they're studying the Constitution. They want to change every method of voting, to some other method of voting: paper will not do, and neither will machines. Any outcome that they do not like is not just suspect, it is fraud. Fraud. Hmm. Fraud: sort of a bait-and-switch thing. Sort of like have the rules mean whatever you want them to mean.

Liberals don't seem to like democracy. Every out come must be a single outcome: they win. Yes, I seem to have written on this, too:

http://forgottenprophets.blogspot.com/2006/11/equinox.html

eshine
And how, pray tell, does "bigoted" describe my comments in this article?

Dam you people need to learn what words mean. Apparently, the incoming undocumented could teach you something about English.

Thasic...
Every rational American with a memory knows that the 2000 election was a sham. Gore won the popular vote and Bush won by a technicality.

- the 2004 election was lost by Kerry because he was a poor candidate at a time of war. Period.

As far as conservatives being "mature" while Dems are "nutcases".

Tell me how mature it is to wage a war with absolutely no plan for follow up, not nearly the amount of troops or supplies needed, and not an ounce of knowledge about the civil unrest that has been brewing in Iraq for decades - resulting in a bloody civil war that has cost more civilian lives than Saddam ever tallied in his murderous reign?

Tell me how Mature it is to actually think tyhat the union between two men or two women woiul dresult in the destruction of heterosexual marriage - even leading to men marrying dogs?

Tell me how mature it is to deny evolution, despite all of the scientific evidence to the contrary - you know, like fossils, dinasours, that sort of thing.

Tell me how mature it is to have a President leave his "vactaion" to go sign legislation taking away the Micheal Shiavo's right to carry out his wifes wish to die with dignity - throwing away the "sanctity of marriage" for the purposes of protecting the life of a braindead woma, all while women and children are being blown to bits in a war waged based on faulty intelligence to say the least.

Tell me how mature it is for conservative, Christ loving theatre owner to pull the plug on the film "Brokeback Mountain" while saying nothing about the fact that a 3 hour torture flick glorifying violence was pulling teenagers in droves at his very same theatre.

Tell me how mature it is for conservatives to mock science and deny that global warming exhists, despite overwhelming evidence to back it up?

Tell me how mature it is for our President to be photographed strumming a guitar with a stupid grin on his face after one of his greatest cities had been ravaged by storm?

I could go on and on and on.

Conservatives are many things, but mature is not a word I would use to describe them. Liberals aren't perfect either. The rabid, anti-war far left who want's partial birth abortion and a complete pullout of Iraq is a small minority - but there are plenty of level headed, moderate Americans who have spoken today and have plainly said - we have had enough. Conservatives and this administration have bitterly divided our country - squandering the potential for unity that 9/11 had brought.

It's time to stop the hate and move forward...

Oh yeah, I forgot
holding to an objective definition of a word is also bigoted isn't it?

Let me help you, e-shine
"A bigot is a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from their own."

Ethnicity and nationality are not OPINIONS, jackass.

jerubaal
The Dems seek control of the house and the very first (3) things you post about is the brown people coming over here to mess up your country.

You're a bigot.

I'm all for immigration reform and certainly feel that people should enter this country legally and fairly - but I don't immediately get exasperated over it because Democrats took control of the house?? As if Bush has done a great job controlling the influx of illegals??

In fact, what are you even talking about? How does Democrats in the house equal increased illegals??

You're a bigot - sorry dude.

jerubaal- racist, not bigot - sorry...
oops, my bad - you're right. Your not a bigot so much as you are a racist.

Thanks for the clarification and eloquent response. How shocking that your party lost today...

Let me help you, e-shine
"A bigot is a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from their own."

Ethnicity and nationality are not OPINIONS, jackass.

Malkin
A few turns of the wheel ago, people who look just like Michelle Malkin were the illegal and undeserving aliens who threatened to overrun the country. There's something sad and revolting about someone like Malkin, who's so eager to step on the fingers of those lower down on the ladder than she was!

Get with it, maroon
I don't care if you call me a bigot. You call everyone a bigot. It's the dems favorite word.

I don't HAVE to tolerate ideas I don't like. Frankly, some ideas are stupid, like 2+2=5 is just completely retarded.

But besides that, who's exasperated? I'm gonna make money off of amnesty and guest workers.

Oh no now I'm a RACIST!
You call everyone a racist; so do all democrats. It means nothing to me.

There are hispanic citizens in this country that are against immigration reform other than building a thick, high wall. I suppose they're racist bigots too.

Or perhaps we can find a simpler solution to all this. You could be the bigot, unable to tolerate the possibility that people can fairly disagree with you on immigration law.

maroon? As in Maroon 5?
I don't get it?

Anyhoo - glad you're happy to be making money from the brown people you so fear, and it's nice to see that you can only resort to name-calling rather than answer a single one of my questions -like how Bush has done a better job controlling the borders than a Democrat would.

Your just a typical hater - you get off on divisive name calling and racist bigotry - an American trend that is thankfully going out of style.

Wipe your noses and stop the hate. You lost for a reason...

e-shine
You're a hypocrite! You call me names and then want to moan about divisive name calling.

What a turd.

FLUSH.

jerubaal
I didn't call you names, I called you a racist and a bigot, those are descriptions of your character based on the content of your posts.

You, in turn - called me a jackass, a "maroon" and a turd - effective if one is engaging a twelve year old in a playground war - but not exactly eloquent debate.

*sigh*

and of course you didn't explain a single one of your positions or answer a single one of my questions because you cannot.

Again, you lost for a reason - and it's not because of the silly conspiracy theories being cited below. It's because moderate America has had it with the hate and division and are ready to send the country in a better direction.

Jerubaal
I am wondering why the illegal alien problem is the only thing you could talk about as as result of the democrats taking control of the house. Republicans controlled congress for the last 12 years in addition to the white house for the last 6 years and the problem has progressively gotten worse. The next thing you know, you'll be saying that Bin Laden is dancing in a cave in Afgahnistan because the Democrats were victorious. You're better than that, man.

eshine
I know we lost for a reason. And I don't buy the conspiracy theories. Democracy is great and the people have spoken. My theology also informs me that God intended the Democrats to take the House.

I was rash and wrong to call the people who didn't vote for the Republicans "idiots". And I was wrong to call you a "maroon" - a Bugs Bunny reference by the way.

However, I stand by the jackass comment - unless you're not a democrat, in which case it's not your symbol.

What position would you like me to explain? If it's that Democrats will favor amnesty, I choose the wait and see answer, because I think it's obvious.

I am not a racist or a bigot, and you have yet to justify your name-calling.

clinton fan
The illegal alien problem is the only thing I discussed because it's the only thing I see the republican senate and the democratic house agreeing on.

I have no clue what OBL thinks about this. I'm not even sure that a Democratic House by itself will have any implications in the war on terror.

Rose
Santorum lost. No shocker. I emailed him months ago about it, because I knew back then he would lose. I asked him to somehow find a way to remain active in politics because I think the country needs him.

Clinton Fan
"I can't wait. The we can continue the sweep."

That may very well happen. And if it does, your side will deserve it as being better representatives of the country.

eshine
I was wrong to call you a "turd" as well.

Of course, I'm breaking the ten commandments of how to talk to a liberal if you must, but I don't care. I'm online way too soon after my post-voting drinking ceremony and my comments were overheated.

"It's because moderate America has had it with the hate and division and are ready to send the country in a better direction."

I seriously doubt it. Here's my interpretation. You may or may not like it.

Gay marriage bans passed in several states, along with minimum-wage hikes.

To me, that means that social conservatism, which is what I think you mean by "hate and division", is alive and doing quite well. Moderate America seems to have had it with fiscal conservatism, which I think is basically dead, if the polls are to be trusted (and let's face it, what else should we trust?).

Boys, boys...
...such vitriol. I, for one, think it is very poor taste to call someone a jackass. Can't think why, but I've always felt that way. I guess I'm just a sensative soul. But it might be a good idea to keep the discussion focused on ideas, rather than personalities. Excuse the limits of our prose, and make an effort to understand intended meaning. You know -- civility. Otherwise you're just a couple of assh*les. [To be filed under "Subtle Irony?]

Texas
I voted Libertarian for Governor.

eshine
I see you and several other 'moderate, mainstream' leftists have come over from your moveon.org haunts to join kibitzing kimberly in sticking your tongue out and sneering names with the usual nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah like the puerile adolescents you are.

I suppose yucking it up with your ilk at a moment like this just isn't satisfying enough - spewing venom is a necessity. You're just a tonic to yourselves...

A Democratic Senate
That is news to me.

Well then all bets are off, I have no idea what's gonna happen now. The amnesty deal was a republican senate plan. There may be no business now.

To the democrats... good show guys.

Jerubaal
I really don't have a "side", being that I consider myself to be independant. I wanted this election to be a referendum on the Iraq war, and I think it was. Don't get me wrong. I'm not totally against the war, but I began to loathe President Bush when he left his advisors intact (particularly Rumsfield) in spite of the horrendous job they were doing executing this war. Our soldiers deserve better than that.

What's funny is
before I go to bed tonight I'll have to find my way to thanking God for the Democrat's victory. He caused it, and He's infinitely good.

I hope I can be more respectful about this in the future, given that fact.

jerubaal
I don't know that you are a racist or bigot and was also engaging in post vote / drinking banter. I apologize as well.

See, we can get along!! It's working already...

Seriously, I wouldn't call gay mariiage bans and minimum wage hikes "social conservatism" - the Marriage bans are no surprise - the country isn't ready for it - that will probably take another twenty years. But Civil Unions and Domestic Partnership benefits will come first, as they should. And I don't see anything conservative about minimum wage hikes? I like them, though!

As far as immigration - both parties agree that it's a mess and I'm not sure one has a better solution than the other - hopefully together both parties can get a handle on this -

And there is no question that the war in Iraq needs a change in direction - but Bush has final say for the next two years, everyone knows that.

Our country is at it's best when we are united, and maybe some of the hostility and shrillness will dissipate now that Democrats have a voice.

If America initiated
a national Identification program and required this picture ID for voting I believe the results would have been different. Instead, we had too many cats and dogs voting for donkeys.

eshine
Minimum wage hikes are my proof that fiscal conservatism is dead. Nothing to do with social conservatism.

eshine
"I don't know that you are a racist or bigot"

Before the protests on May 1 I was an open-borders libertarian. Then I got scared. Schools were shut down, and an army of like ten thousand mexicans marched right by my apartment waving mexican flags and shouting.

Mountain Rose
Hello sweetie. So, because my blog name is CLINTON FAN, you don't think I can be independant. The whole point of being independant is to judge a politician by his performance and not by the letter next to his name. I'm a fan of BILL CLINTON's because he was a great president. But I'm also a fan of Jack Kemp, John McCain, Colin Powell, and even Ronald Reagan (gasp). If you're a politician and you make a positive impact toward the growth of this great country, then you have me support. Well, I hope I've made "this picture" much more plesant for you.

Why would Democrats question Election
I think the Repubs are going to be crying and whining...as someone who believes in truth,I cannot believe the dirty tricks like robocalls and prank calling Voter hotlines. As long as the spendthrift and dishonest people like Rove ,Bush and mosy repubs in Congress are around ,not to mention the growing of BIG government and the anti-Freedom bills I am glad to see them lose. Maybe then the party will stand for fiscal diciplin, small federal government and most of all Freedom for all Americans....The Libertarians are the True Conservatives.

The Democrats won because the current crop of repubs is NOT conservative at all...and even worse, completely incompetent.

drBlack
I think you're onto something about being Libertarian. They won my vote for governor of California this year. And unless some major changes happen with the Republican party, they might get more than that from me in the future.

For reasons unknown
FOX forced me to go to CNN to get news on the Senate. They project a Republican senate. This pleases me greatly.

Still, congratulations to all the Democrats who voted.

It's a great day for America. Everyone won something, and I'll probably still get my business :D.

eshine
"Our country is at it's best when we are united, and maybe some of the hostility and shrillness will dissipate now that Democrats have a voice."

I doubted that when Buck2 told me the Dems had the senate, but with a divided Congress, you can bet that the tone of politics will be much more civil now.

Typical conservative BS. If, in fact, this is a problem, then let's implement a national, tamper resistant ID, indicating citizenship. Not a driver's lisc., a Natioanl Citizenship ID. And let's implement this with electronic voting with paper trails for verifiable recounts.

I don't think this is a big problem, but I am willing to admit it is a legitimate concern, adressed by a National ID card. Are you willing to admit that verifiable electronic voting is a legitimate concern? Or, like Malkin, do you claim this is leftist paranoia, but illegals voting is a legitimate fear?

Tamper resistant National Citizenship ID's along with verifiable paper trails for electonic voting will address questions of voting integrity. To claim one is legitimate, but the other is not is simply partisan BS and not worthy of a free people.

Several Bond Initiatives Passed in Cali
But no new taxes. The abortion notification measure failed, but Jessica's law passed.

I think this fits my view, when you consider how skewed left California is. Social conservatism is alive and well, and fiscal conservatism is not.

Nothing like brown people taking the First Amendment seriously to scare you, eh? (The right to peaceably assemble and petition the gov't. for redress).

Maybe Bush can declare them enemy combatants, strip them of the rights, hold them indefinately, take their guns and otherwise make you feel secure by trampling on the bill of rights. After all, the "original intent" didn't include non-whites, did it, jerubaal?

Sad
I didn't read all the posts, it's all gloating by Kimberly and her pals, useless excuses from others. They've got a right to gloat, but what else would you expect? They've been living on hate for 6 years, that has to come out some way. What concerns me is that soon the promises the Democrats made will come true, increased taxes, tax cuts cancelled, gay marriage pushed through, abortion unlimited, soon the Fairness Doctrine will be reinstated so the Democrats don't have to listen to Talk Radio, worst of all, the Kerry's and Pelosi's and Kennedy's who hate America will be able to pull out of Iraq and pretend there are no terrorists getting attacks ready for us. When all is said and done, the Republicans did this to themselves, in spite of having a brave and courageous President. In all fairness, let the Democrats have their try, maybe they will change their spots and do something brave for a change. Until then, I hope I don't see any more posts from Kimberly and the other haters and we can stop this everlasting one-upsmanship.

eshine is a perfect example
of what is wrong with liberals.

shine on, you crazy diamond.

I posted on the Medved article...
...but I was obviously too late. It seems that our liberal posters here have gone the gloating route early!

Anyway, congrats must be given to the Democrats. they won, we lost and now we have to deal with the consequences. I am just glad that we have not resorted to crybaby tactics in order to taint the Democrats winning campaign.

BTW, I have a post at my blog on why I think the GOP lost. Feel free to check it out. And if any of the liberals visit, please leave coherent, well thought out, reasoned responses. I would greatly appreciate that courtesy.

GOP
it's the arrogant who have taken over the House this day. The humble were already in charge.

it's arrogant to buy votes with minimum wage hikes. it's arrogant to suppose you that you can have a safe world without a strong defense. it's arrogant for Schumer to immediately state that "we're taking our country back". It's arrogant because it's divisive. for so long the Dems have been engaged in partisan politics, it's their way or the highway. Bush has been a President of all the people, not just his own party. He has extended the olive branch and constantly gotten his hand bit down to the knuckles by the Dems. The Dems have never given up claiming that the election was "stolen" from them. THAT"S arrogance.

They are the party of arrogance, deceit, and manipulation. And they will go on to prove it in spades.

Clinton Fan...he did what?
Clinton Fan,
Forgive Me! What did Clinton do for this country?
I jsut can't seem to remember anything decent. The only things I can think of are making a mockery of marriage, giving Nukes to Korea, whitewater, travelgate, Vince Foster,Sandy Berger stealing for him and let's not forget Waco...wait, there was Kosovo, that was one good thing....

As the pendelum swings
As I wrote a short time ago, the pendelum swings both ways. It has for a long time and will continue to swing for a long time. This isn't the first time the majority has changed and it isn't the last.

What our side will do now is lick our wounds, find new candidates, gird our loins and prepare for the next elections.

The worst part about losing now is having to listen to crowing of the idiots who can't win or lose gracefully.

I agree with uwcharlie
The Grand Old Party had it coming because of their abandonment of the reasons they got elected in the first place. Less government, balanced budgets, and most of all a better value system.

I cannot count the times that I heard the phrases, "moderate Democrat" or "conservative Democrat". Unfortunately, those moderates and conservatives will have little voice in setting the party line for the next two years. They will be expected to be in lockstep with leadership, as the conservative GOP has been with its own.

Don't get me wrong, I am a card carrying member of the vast right wing conspiracy. The problem was, we held all the power for 6 years and really only have 2 Supreme Court judges to show for it.

The 2001 tax cuts will sunset in 2011, unless the Democrats can repeal them sooner, and then what did our Republican majority provide to its base?

Kraut, Amen!
Over onthe Med-ved board, there is glee and spewing. I like fantasy just like the libs. Let me try...
Wouldn't it be nice if they could state what they believe and why without chucking negatives all the time? Someone offered congrats and Coolnut was like a two year-old. What a shame. I am taking my licks, but I am not spewing nastiness because we lost. Oops, time to wake up, I feel the spittle!

Marxists gain power
"When Nikita Kruschev banged his shoe on the table and declared, ‘We shall destroy you from within’ during the infamous "Kitchen Debate" - he knew what he was talking about."

With the Marxist party gaining more seats, it won't be long before the collapse of the USA as predicted by Kruschev.

On the positive side, the Marxist leadership will pull us out of Iraq after which the Islamo-fascists will return to attacking Marxist cities here in America.

I DON'T KNOW HOW
People can live with themselves that vote for white Democratic politicians that associate themselves with the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? In the state of Michigan, voters did just that, and they re elected a governor did just that exact same thing several days before the election. Do you think it could have had something to do with the fact that this Uncle Tom governor of ours (Jennifer Granholm) vetoed a bill that would have put LIMITS on how long a healthy able body could collect welfare?

Come to Michigan, we have a unemployment rate that is currently at all time record highs along with a mortgage foreclosure rate that also is at record levels, but that's OK, everybody is in the same boat and certainly don't let that discourage you coming to our fine state because keep in mind that our fine Governor, Jennifer Granholm makes it possible for you to collect welfare for just as long as you like, and you don't even have to leave your house to collect the check, just sign up for convenient direct deposit program. Welcome to Michigan, no longer called the "Winter Wonderland", but now referred to as the "Idiot Wonderland" with the union mentality.

Al gore won the popular vote? Since that doesnt count - good point. Let me ask you this , where was Al gore's home state? answer- Tenn. Who won Tenn? Bush. Gore couldnt win his home state! the people that new that nitwit best didnt vote him in. If memory serves i believe that if Gore won Tenn we would have been president. The Ny Times said Bush one after looking at results. That liberal top secret sharing rag said he Won, but i guess they were wrong, huh? As far as Shiavo, i guess she was just a late late late term abortion

Dem losing and winning attitudes
Whether the Dems win or lose does not affect the way I do business or my feelings abuot my country. When I succeed, it is because I do the work, not some government giving me a hand-out.

The only thing that makes me angry is the way the Dems act when they lose - whine and cry and complaing that "they was robbed" and when they win - they are arrogant SOBs and cram it in your face (not very unlike the out-of-the-closet homosexuals who just can't keep what they do in the bedroom like all the other civilized folks).

Life will go on - we just need to learn to fight back better and when we win control again, actually CONTROL things and not play nicey-nice like we have for the last 6 years.

LLR

Republicans sat it out, Dems Did not win
Republicans sat out this election - for a reason.

Limp wristed prosecution of the war, and a complete defiance of the wishes of the American public on Immigration. (65-80% of Americans want a stop to Illegal immigration).

Democrats can gloat all day, but they will have learned the wrong lesson. Republicans can wimper about Bush and Foley, but they too will have missed the point.

I voted for my Governor, and my local officials, but I withheld my votes for Senators and Congressmen. Many others simply did not go to the polls at all. This was foretold back at the time of the Immigration riots, and marches, and it has come to pass - as promised.

Republican Representatives would do well to learn that they can not act with impunity towards their base, and get away with it. We are not sheep, and if you go against our interests - by legalizing millions of illegal aliens, then you will reap the rewards of No second chances.

Dems would do well to recall the second half of this plan, which is to elect far more Conservative Republicans in 2008. We sat out this one, specifically to unseat the Incumbent Republican RINOs.

We will come back in 08, stronger than ever. Watch and see.

A change for the worse.
The Dems ran on a platform of "We want change", and a majority of the people bought it! What I don't understand is why??? (minimun wage?)

This change is a change for the worse. Our economy has never been better in our history, the American homeland has not been attacked in over 5 years.

The left would rather sink a thriving economy, give the terrorists a victory, have a far-left loon as their Speaker of the House all just to gain power again and the people fell hook line and sinker...amazing. It's some kind of a
twilight zone, bizarro world.

If indeed the "Moderatate Dems" who gained the House will be moderate is still to be seen. But the Reids, Clintons, Pelosi, Schumers, etc shoud scare the bejesus out of you, literally?

kimberly
All anyone has to do is read your comments to see how the left thinks. No indication of voter theft by dems? How about ACORN getting caught in Mo. with 40,000 invalid ballots. Dead people listed, same signiture on several ballots, addresses that turn out to be parking lots. And thats just in Mo. they are looking at ACORN (a liberal-dem group) in several other atates. Now i would like to hear your evidence as to how 2000 and 2004 for were stolen. And please , give details not just moonbat comments from M Moore and company

Why are libs spamming con blogs?
What is it with you mindless myrmidons on the left? Can't you people take your trolling posts to demoncatunderground.com or something? We lost. We'll deal with it. Actually, we'll have fun watching your RAT pack fight with Pelosiwitch the lib and other leftist extremists on how going "too" left will backfire on them. Liberalism is a disease, not a mental disorder.

Kimberly's delusions
Kimberly,

The media went through all the Florida ballots from the 2000 election and only when they came up with some half assed convoluted way of tallying the results, did they EVER wind up with more votes for that idiot Gore. The simple reason Gore lost was because the morons in Palm Beach County could not even understand a simple ballot that was designed by the Dems!!! Add to that the fact that AlGore could not even win his onw damed state!!
And where is the proof regarding the 2004 election??? The unbiased and totally objective BBC report??

will anything be different?
I don't see why so many think anything will really change in Washington. The dems haven't had any new ideas in a long time and so far, I haven't heard any good ideas they want to implement. Why would we think they plan to change the atmosphere in Washington? They never did while they were in the minority and I don't see them trying to work w/ the president on anything. They've spent all their energy attacking the man and every decision for so long, so why will anything change? Are they going to come up w/ some new strategy for winning the war on terror? Will they fix the border problem? Will they fix the problem of dependence on foreign oil? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I just remember when they held the majority in the Senate a few yrs ago and saw how well that worked. I see more gridlock coming.

Earth to Kimberly
Kimberly posted on the Dan “Blather” article. She still believes the Blather documents were for real. So, I’ll repost here.

But of course, the documents weren’t forged, Kimberly. After all, they were only written with a word processor which did not exist when the documents were authored. That speaks directly to your ability to comprehend a fact easily proven by the most simple of simpletons, Kimberly. Even the left media (CBS) found they were forged. If CBS had a single scintilla of proof the documents were genuine, they would have a bronzed Danny boy titled the “Pillar of Truth.”

You, Dan Blather, Hanoi Kerry, Hanoi Fonda, Hanoi Cronkite, and the other Hanoi Johns from the 60’s era are cut from the same cloth. You’re a bunch of mentally impotent sidewalk generals that has no concept of what this country/world must face. You people are doing the same thing now your ilk did during Vietnam. Then, 58,000+ good men died in vain. This time however, far more is at stake and far more good Americans will die. When this occurs, you be sure you and your ilk keep you heads in the political sewer you so willingly habit.

You can best serve you country if you go back to smoking your dope or bone up on the history and the religion in that part of the world and the hardware you hate so much.

Waukesha, WI
My husband came home from voting last night where a college age student was "caught" voting twice. By "caught" I mean--the "ancient" poll workers all looked completely disinterested, the kid ran out. End of story.
How many times did this happen yesterday? Of course I'm prejudiced. I believe that democrats just naturally cheat. What do you expect from people who could care less if babies are poisoned, pulled limb from limb or have their brains sucked out? Cheating is second nature to their way of thinking. Are there any upright democrats?

r0_d2
"Repugs security
Malkin,
At least you know your job of chasing after cars and crapping in the corner is secure.

Watch the Repug-Lie-Cons rant now!"

how very juvenile. most of society ages out of that kind of talk and behavior by 1st or 2nd grade...middle school at the very latest.

Dems, grow up and win gracefully please.

It seems to me
The people have spoken.

Now the Democrats will get a chance to show whether or not they have what it takes to act wisely. If not, in two years the people will put them back into minority status. This was no mandate, by any means.

Bitter recriminations by the Republicans will prove nothing. Now's the time for them to prove to the people that they deserve to be returned to the helm. They also have two years to make their case.

The next election's more important than this one was: everything's on the table, and there isn't an incumbent with coattails running for President.

Dems indoctrinate
they don't educate. The kids at UW-Milwaukee were literally slapping "vote no" stickers (and I mean whacking) our daughter's arm as she was minding her own business walking on campus yesterday. THis was in regard to the marriage amendment (which, thankfully, passed as marriage being between One man and One woman). These same kids didn't even KNOW where to vote. Complete dumbsh##s. But they're vocal. Boys wearing skirts using women's bathrooms. Assaulting our daughter verbally because she has a pro life sticker on her car. Constantly being in her face--the same people who demand respect for their lifestyle and beliefs show absolutely NO respect to anyone who refuses to believe exactly as they do. Hypocrites. Stupid hypocrites, to boot. Democratic kids should just be made to sit quietly in their remedial courses....

KM and Kimberly....
Flip sides of the same idjit...

KM writes:
"Republican Representatives would do well to learn that they can not act with impunity towards their base, and get away with it. We are not sheep, and if you go against our interests - by legalizing millions of illegal aliens, then you will reap the rewards of No second chances."

Yeah, KM, you sure learned 'em. When newly amnestied Paco from Durango has your middle management job in a year, I hope that line of reasoning still works for you. New vocab word for you - Primary. Specifically as it regards 'elections.' They held one in 06, you might have read about it. That might have been a better place to exercise your righteous indignation. I'm not saying...I'm just saying... Thank you though for helping remove Paco's last barrier to amnesty. 'Preciate it mucho gusto mi amigo. Aqui es su signo.

Kimberly? You're intellectually disingeniuous and not particularly bright in your own doxology, much less any particular area of the hard sciences. (It is cute to watch you try though.) There is nothing that you ever say in this forum that retains more than the scarcest whiff of the truth. Stated another way - there is no substance to your droppings here. I promise you friend, you are utterly wrong in your belief that this has no personal cost or consequence to you. It does, both daily and over the long haul - corrupting your internal landscape as well as the external one that greets your eyes daily upon waking. Clearly, you lack the prerequisite wisdom to comprehend your danger. That said, I'll assuming this mornings disgusting behavior (no different than any other day of course...) is just what you say - the results of 6 years of republican trauma on your psyche. Just ignore the fact that even though your party won a midterm election, you will continue to get rationally pasted here. I know it probably seems like that should change too, but uh, unfortunately no - not the case. You won an election, but no greater understanding of your world in the process unfortunately. Thanks just the same for being part of our little community - we like something to rub up against in here - that's why we come. As you know, on the lib sites they only let you play with yourself. Makes Achilles a very dull boy.

All that said, I DO look forward to you and your ilk 'making things all better.' I'm assuming that we'll have fewer casualties in the coming year from war or terrorism, - (aside: you may even, via your advanced dialoging techniques, get the jihadi's to like us. and with your personal ability to win friends and influence people as evidenced here, maybe you could be the first envoy?) a continued terror-free streak here at home, the economy will just perform better than it's even currently stellar performance, and an era of respect and dignity will break out amongst all of my fellow citizens - with the House and perhaps - hopefully even - the Senate, leading the way for all of us. As your kind are superior to us, I know you won't - couldn't possibly - disappoint.

Mature Liberals ?
eshine

If you think the Democrats (Socialists) are so mature you need to go back to sixth grade and learn about civics. Everything you said about Matureity was just wrong, but what can one expect from lieing Liberals.

Actually GOP...
While you are clearly a fiiine specimen of a Pro-Abort argument, we don't believe in that kind of thing here. Murder is just kinda wrong that way. Even the murder of ambitions. Best of luck with your voter importation program. At the rate your Dem moms murder their kids and your venereal diseases are making the rest of you sterile, you're going to need something to make up the difference. Drip on brother...

Earlier I wrote: The worst part about losing is now we have to listen to crowing of the idiots who can't win or lose gracefully.

As evidence of this I give you the ramblings of Kimberly, r2_d2 and the rest of them here and in the other TH opinions.

Pelosi isn't the speaker yet, she still has to be elected from within the house. She probably will though, the extreme left likes her.

I have a real question
I really would like a serious answer. Thank you in advance.
South Dakota ELECTED Legislators OVERWHELMINGLY passed a ban on abortion.
I heard complaints on the news about "out of staters swarming all over South Dakota" to lobby.
The same voters who elected the legislators voted against down the ban.

Is this just one of those improbable things or truly screwy?

Thanks.

Take a Vacation
I respect the fact that conservatives are organizing themselves, and getting their views out; but the last month of sniveling and whining about what damage a speaker "pelosi" would do to our country, made you all look like the poor sport dems after the last 2 elections. It turns your supporters off.

You may want to begin today to get the right message to the GOP front runners for 08. Immigration,no amnesty,no guest workers, major enforcement on employers. Any republican who advocates a softer approach will lose the presidency.

A vacation for all conservative columnists is in order. I suggest 2 weeks in anytown USA with a population of no more than 30,000; just to get some perspective back.

You did your best, but we had to punish the GOP.

Live to fight another day.

eshine
Stop the hate? No siree. Now it's our turn and the Demos have taught us so well. I'm sure we'll be a success at it. I can hardly wait for Moonbat Pelosi (Kimberly, that's for you)to stop her play acting as a moderate and get on with her own agenda.

The continuing hypocrisy of the Left
When Democrats lose, the election was "stolen." When Republicans lose, the election was "honest." The only strategy the Dems had was to run conservative leaning candidates in vulnerable red states and districts. You notice that none of the newly elected Democrats are hard lefties, otherwise they could not have won. Pelosi, Kennedy, Reid and the rest of the ultra-liberals of the party were nowhere to be found in the last days of the campaign and they never offered an alternative strategy for Iraq during the entire thing. Unfortunately for the country and so-called moderate Democrats the election has now given us congressional leadership of the most liberal stripe. Bad news now but I think good news in '08.

Thanks, BrianR
Whenever you post there's (unfortunately frequently momentary) sanity and rationality.

Losing the Senate as well

Looks like the Senate will probably flip as well. But gee, look at all the freebies we'll get now that the Dumbocraps have Congress. Free health care, free drugs, continuation of the greatest retirement system ever devised by man, Social Security, maybe even free cars, because why should we have to pay these outrageous sticker prices.

Of course this will all be paid for by rolling back the tax cuts that benefited only the filthy rich. The Dums can also go after Big Oil, Big Tobacco, Big Drugs, Big Walmart, Big Haliburton and all the other Big Entities run by the rich fat cat cronies of Bush/Cheney that profited at the expense of working Americans.

Also, now they can achieve their revenge for impeaching Bubba, and go after Bush and Cheney, which could possibly enable Pelosi to the White House. (Is that a possible scenario under the Constitution?) Of course, since when did the Constitution get in the way of the Dums, they just have to find a friendly activist judge.

They can release all the poor freedom fighters at Gitmo, give them a plane ticket home along with, of course, reparations for their pain and suffering. Naturally, this will end all and any terrorist threats for the foreseeable future.

Then the world will LOVE us again!!! Don't you get a warm fuzzy just thinking about it?

now it's the president's turn...
...to be an obstructionist. After six years of disuse the veto pen has been anxiously waiting for this moment to make up for lost opportunities. I have a very strong feeling that two years from now the President might be suffering from writer's cramp. We can only hope and pray.

Bloggers and Posters . . .
it's time (actually past time) to write your Republican rep and senators.

Ask them all if they got the message. Ask them if this is what they had planned for when they had a majority in both houses and held the White House.

Ask them if getting beat might change their tactics. Maybe they will stop being politically correct when they fight wars. Maybe they will shut the border and prosecute people who hire illegal aliens.

Maybe they will understand what most of the people in this country want. (CLUE: it ain't socialism)

You can't veto a budget during a war.

Calm down, don't get your blood pressure up. The libs haven't taken control yet and set up free health care for you. When they do, if they model it after Canada, you might be able to see a doctor in March, 2008.

I thought it was perfectly clear :D. I don't see how I could have confused GOP for me.

Rummy Resigning
Contrary to most I believe he had three main problems that made him a target.

1. He was matter of fact, not whimpy, in his news confrences and when testifying before congress. Libs hate confident, competent conservatives.

2. He gored many sacred oxes in the defense depatrment. How many generals and admirals won't be getting cushy jobs with defense contractors because Rummy wouldn't back purchasing a system?

3. He shook up the status quo and broke up little fiefdoms in the defense department in trying to reorganize it. Not a good way to make friends.

We will miss him.

gop
As usual when talking to a lib it goes to the gutter. As if you care about the soldiers coming home. you and your party are the sons and daughters of the hippie movement that spit on the troops coming home from Viet Nam. Your party doesnt want recruiters on campus , or for there to be ROTC on campus. Cant have those war mongers near our darling babies dont you know. Your party is also the 1st ones to beleive the terrorist/throat sliters when they cry foul because the soldiers kill some of those scum. We lost , so what. i'm over it . the bottom line is there are over a billion Muslems in the world. Do you know how many are willing to blow themselves up? i dont either . Lets say its only a small fraction, say 50,000 , how much damage do you think 50,000 suicide bombers can do. I would rather not find out

Simple question to you libs:
How do you justify your win or your agenda (if any) for America when such devils as the Communist Party USA, terror leaders, socialist dictators, and tyrants of the world, endorse your party? Justify that!!

Also, unless you all have amnesia, can you recall anything from what happened to Spain right after the socialist government was voted in and subsequently w/drew their troops from Iraq? The terrorists rewarded Spain's show of appeasement by bombing people dead. Yeah, let's just pray to God that as the no-nads commie-lites in Congress now gleefully sprint out of Iraq, we won't invite more homicide bombers to America. Maybe you commie-lites will have to pray to Allah, after all.

On to minimum wage, have any of you socialist-wannabes ever analyzed this counterproductive concept? In Illinois, the proposal is for min. wage to go from 6.50/hr to 7.50/hr. Why should an employer have to pay more for the same unskilled labor that will remain unskilled? Don't you think that the whole idea of quotas and minimum wages is the main reason that self-improvement and competition are not encouraged? So we are supposed to be compassionate to those slack offs who wish only to do the minimum and not try to raise themselves out of poverty? My experience as an immigrant from a communist country and having had to work in various menial jobs when I first arrived in America motivated me to save up and move beyond that type of employment. Most of my former coworkers from those jobs deemed that somehow minimum wage was enough for a while and did nothing beyond that. Eventually, people like me sacrificed and borrowed to go to college. The others who believed in minimum wage is still w/ the mentality that minimum wage is the answer for poor Americans.

Besides the farce that is about tolerance and inclusiveness that is being preached ad nauseum by you commie-libs, the concept of minimum wage has to be among the top trick you guys use to confuse and polarize poor and possibly undereducated Americans.

So, we lost last night. And for good reason. We need to do better at campaigning, not play the nice and principled guy all the time. It's time we started to repeat and repeat and repeat again all the good deeds that many conservatives are doing for America. It's like the propaganda approach that the commies and our American version of commie-lite use, except we repeat incessantly about the truth.

Kudos to all you conservative posters here who don't resort to the psychobabble and the childish name callings that libs do whether they win or lose.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Ahh, the maturity of conservatism at it's best.

As I posted before, this country is at it's best when we are united. I am hopeful that the shrill, hateful speech by the likes of Gunny G, who sounds like a Savage wannabe, has gone out of style.

Amrica has spoken - Democrats now have a slight majority and together it's possible that we can work on getting this country back in shape.

Quit the hate.

Your first question is nonsensicle and negates any rational discussion or debate. Try again

Only Moonbats
(Like R2d2 and Kimberly) rejoice in burning the chicken coop because they don't like the rooster.

The sun is still shining and the chickens haven't yet realized that when it gets dark, they'll have no place to hide!

Does this election prove them right? No - it just demonstrates the that the moonbat ploy of making Americans stupid (beginning with public "school") has worked.

Congrats on your win Kimberley, R2D2, and your b*tt brother Osama Bib Laden. Hope yall get real cozy before Osama whacks your whacko heads clean off.

Me? I'm locked and loaded. I understand there is a run on guns and ammo at all the sporting goods stores.

Stop! Leave GOP Alone!
Guys please - stop picking on this poor retarded boy. You should celebrate that he's got access and figured out how to use a keyboard to a socially functional (well dysfunctional anyway) level. GoGoGoGOP! I've seen all your TV shows Corky! (thumbs up!!!)

In fact, use this as a brainteaser - what is the difference between GOP here and the new speaker of the house? .....

see - not that easy is it?

And further more...
.
From the pages of Moonbattery.com:

"""In case anyone doubts that American voters made a serious mistake yesterday, AP quotes a few people who think we didn't:

"All this fills us with optimism," gloats Venezuela's America-bashing socialist strongman Hugo Chavez.

A joint statement of Socialist members of the European Parliament called our election results "the beginning of the end of a six-year nightmare for the world" and exults that the Bush administration is "seriously weakened."

Suleiman Hadad, a lawmaker for Iran's terror-supporting client state Syria, happily comments that "President Bush is no longer acceptable worldwide."

Could any enemy of this country fail to be pleased?"""

Silly liberals will giggle all over themselves all the way to hell.

And NO Kimberley
To YOU it may be "Speaker" Pelosi - to the thinking people left in this country it's still Nancy "Box-o-rocks" Pelosi.

Now she gets to demonstrate to the entire world how taoally stupid she actually is.

This could get entertaining. I wonder if she'll send a signed basketball to Kim Jong Il as a sign of submission?

of course not Jimbo...
she'll send him a pair of worn, autographed panties and a box of ho-ho's. ;)

I agree
First of all, you are entirely correct - the Dems were sowing the seeds for the excuse crop when they became nervous that they would lose the election. The irony is that it is liberal radicals, not republicans, who have been shown time and time again to be responsible for massive voter fruad attempts - and those are only the ones we've caught.

Second, I really expected we would win and win soundly - I was quite shocked in how badly we were beaten. I don't believe Republicans simply "didn't turn out" - I think the majority of America spoke and the democratic process functioned as it should.

What this means to me, and I hope many others, is that we need to take the media misinformation spread seriously from now on - millions of Americans have a carefully crafted idea of Republicans, Bush, and Iraq by means of the mainstream media and their campaign of misinformation.

Don't believe me? Do some research by yourself, avoiding known liberal sources when possible, and you'll discover a wealth of information that is simply ignored by the DBM - anything that portrays success or positive outcomes from the Bush admin, or Republicans, is stifled and ignored. Anything that portrays the Democrats poorly is stifled and ignored - how the heck did Jim Webb sweep the pedophilia novel scandal under the rug?

The Media. It's dangerous and it needs to be taken seriously because it's quite good at what it does.

GOP on his knees to DNC...
...film at 11.

Liberal hate
It would never occur to me to go over to a liberal blog site simply to spew hate and gloat over an election win as some here are posting. I've just spent an hour reading through the posts and it is just so disturbing.

Even after the liberal dems have gotten their win, they are still over here spewing and baiting people into arguments. For what reason?

Furthermore this accusing the conservatives of hate appears to be the biggest case of collective projection I have ever seen.

Now that they have won and have no cause to yell "voter fraud" or "election theft", they still are not satisfied.

From reading the posts I get this mental image of someone continuing to punch someone down on the ground, over and over in the face, because the punisher can never be satisfied.

Good grief
Are there any adults in the room?

Kimberly
"Turn about is fair play - and boy, is it your turn."

No, Kimberly, it is NOT my turn. I have never treated anyone with this hatred that is flying about.

I do have my opinions but I don't get into name calling arguments with others because no one is going to change anyone's mind on either side. I just vote when I can and hope for the best.

It's sad you are so filled with hatred that even after you have gotten what you want you still want to beat up on those who may not agree with you.

I don't go onto liberal blog sites so I don't know what is said over there by conservatives.

I just know that there are human beings behind everyone's beliefs both liberal and conservative and I prefer to see people treated with dignity and respect regardless of their opinions.

Conservative Dems?
"The Democrats won because the current crop of repubs is NOT conservative at all..."

True. This says it all. They turned their back on their base. Notice how the Dems took note of this and realized that to win in the South they needed to push candidates that know how to "talk the talk" of conservatism. All the while they sent their liberal leadership, Kennedy, Pelosi, Reid, Dean etc into hiding for the last month of campaigning. All except for Kerry who somehow managed to slip away long enough to put his foot in mouth once again.
I doubt any of these so-called conservative dems are anywhere near the caliber of a Zell Miller. And surely they will be taken to the woodshed by the new liberal leadership in the House and Senate if they ever even think about straying off the liberal reservation.

GOP
You wrote: "the liberals can rewrite the Constitution beginning with the 'Declaration of Independence' which states that .."all men are created equal to pursue life, liberty, etc. since you believe that Equaltiy is a dumb idea......."

The key word here is "created". But somehow the liberals have taken it to mean that the force and power of government regulation is needed to keep things equal.
Your definition of equality is obviously not the same as the conservative one. I prefer the conservative definition.

GOP
Name calling and personal insults have no place in public dialogue, therefore I don't approve of what you're doing. Now having said that, I must admit I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Please stop before you cause Mountain Rose and MacZed to have a heart attack.

DAMIT!

Time to stop the fretting...
Conservatives.

One only needs to see the despicable postings in here from the truly despicable and loathesome creatures commonly referred to as "democrats" to know exactly WHY they can't hold power for longer than two years at a time anymore.

Not to worry- it won't take long for the American people to be reminded of exactly what the DC demonRATs ARE and once again we will rejoice in their rout.

And these we are forced to tolerate here? Boringly and unendingly stupid, worthless, dependant with not a whole brain between them all. Relax fellow conservatives- boobies are almost extinct.

Robyn
In the interim, the liberals are making townhall fat with money from all the pageviews, thus helping the conservative movement. In that vein, we should provoke them.

Gloat and Sore Loosing
Michelle's post is about the Democratic strategy of pre-emption by doubt.

I agree that it is a strategy of the DNC and their supporters.

I think it is actually a good strategy--keep people off balance--keep them disaffected and give them a name for their condition: "All powerful" but incompetent Republicans.

It works and the MSM helps with week after week of anti-Republican noise.

That is all I read here in this post--angry noise. Not a single idea outside the rubrik of the DNC talking points--not a single comment on the actual article.

Just mean spiritedness and anger.

I find that very telling and I find the posters who ask that we "get along" right after insulting others impossible.

I am desperate for discourse with people who earnestly want to discuss points and not beat eachother over the head with grade school attacks.

If anybody knows of such a place--where off topic comments are soundly dispatched please let me know.

You forgot "Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy".
Ms. Malkin, why waste your obvious literary talent on this partisan piffle? There's not even enough room for one Coulter, and you are already being forgotten.

Michelle gets it right
Michelle you hit the nail on the head. How can you win when, as you say, the democrats use the mantra " Either we win or it means you cheated". This is the modern day equivalent of the old nowin joke When did you stop beating your wife? No matter how you answer you come out looking bad.

NO MORE BUSHES
Now that the weak and ineffective Republican leadership in the Congress is gone, Bush is ready to do business with the Baathists of the Northeast. Bush and Rove have consistently undermined conservatives during Bush's terms. And Bush naively believes the left will like him if he's nice to them. The left isn't going to change. They've already told Bush what to expect; i.e., judicial appointments, Bolton, etc. And conservatives have little reason to believe Bush. Regarding immigration, he did nothing, even less than Clinton, to control it for 5 years. If Bush keeps sticking it to conservatives, with the help of his new "friends" controlling the Congress, other Republicans of his ilk will hear from the people in future primaries. Bush Jr. has been slightly better than Bush Sr. But please - NO MORE BUSHES!!!
