Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Two short weeks to Election Day. As one of those post-9/11 security moms, it all comes down to a simple question for me: Who will keep this country -- and my children -- safer from harm?

I have many heated differences with the Bush administration over its refusal to fully enforce immigration laws; soft-headed pandering to jihadist lobbying groups; profligate spending on illusory transportation security; failure to confront the spread of sharia law; and kowtowing to Saudi princes eager to send over more young students to learn aviation in our universities.

For all the White House's faults, however, there is no doubt in my mind that Republicans as a group are better informed, better equipped and better able to lead this country in a time of war than the Democrats. The donkey party is led by thumb-sucking demagogues in prominent positions who equate Bush with Hitler and Jim Crow, call him a liar in front of high school students and the world, fantasize about impeachment and fetishize the human rights of terrorists who want to kill me.

Put simply: There are no grown-ups in the Democrat Party.

Maybe this is what a prematurely giddy Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., meant when she told the Los Angeles Times this week: "The gavel of the speaker of the House is in the hands of special interests, and now it will be in the hands of America's children."

Yep. Put the gavel in the hands of Pelosi and the Democrats, and you will put the gavel in the hands of children. Couldn't put it better myself.

Another clarifying moment that underscores the fundamental difference between Republicans and Democrats on matters of national security, seriousness and secrecy took place on June 29, 2006.

That was the day the U.S. House of Representatives voted to condemn the decision by several newspapers -- led by the newspaper of wreckage, The New York Times -- to publish details of the Bush administration's classified program to track terrorist financing. Known as SWIFT, the program had led to the capture of a key Bali bombing suspect and identification of a convicted al Qaeda helper based in New York City, as well as helping investigators probing domestic terrorist cells and suspected Islamic charities fronting for jihad. Under specious claims by anonymous accusers that the program's legality and oversight were in doubt, the Times splashed details of the program all over its front pages. Democrats dutifully piled on to condemn the White House for its "illegal" "abuses of power."

But House Republicans refused to roll over for the blabbermouth media and the blabbermouth Democrats. They put Washington on record with a vote on a nonbinding resolution stating the obvious -- that news organizations may have "placed the lives of Americans in danger" by disclosing SWIFT and that Congress "expects the cooperation of all news media organizations" in keeping classified programs secret.

The resolution passed 227-183, with only 17 Democrats joining nearly all House Republicans in condemning the leak-dependent news media and supporting the surveillance program.

"This measure attempts to intimidate the press and strengthen the hands of this despotic administration," railed New York Democrat Rep. Maurice Hinchey. "It is a campaign document," pouted Rep. Pelosi in attacking the resolution. Republicans "have adopted a shoot-the-messenger strategy by attacking the newspaper that revealed the existence of the secret bank surveillance program rather than answering the disturbing questions that those reports raise about possible violations of the U.S. Constitution and U.S. privacy laws," wheedled Rep. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass.

Why do I remind you of this vote and the Dems' kindergarten reaction? Because the Times' own ombudsman admitted this week that the story should never have run. Public editor Byron Calame 'fessed up: "I don't think the article should have been published. . . . I haven't found any evidence in the intervening months that the surveillance program was illegal. . . . The lack of appropriate oversight -- to catch any abuses in the absence of media attention -- was a key reason I originally supported publication. I think, however, that I gave it too much weight."

Not a single one of the Democrats who lambasted Bush and Republicans for protesting the reckless story has stepped forward to apologize to the president and the American people or acknowledge the harm caused to counterterrorism efforts.

Do you need to know any more to judge which party will keep this country safer? I don't.

On defense
The Dims will never be with us. They're traitors.

And here's my pre emptive strike on Kimberly, who I'm sure will accuse Malkin of playing on my fears:
The Dims are playing on fear also. They're making me fear the men in black helicopters that Bush has sent to hover over my house.

They're playing on my fear that my family members in Iraq won't get humane treatment if they are captured by Islamic throatcutters because another serviceman put a water soaked rag in a jihadist's mouth.

They're playing on my fears that the president is reading this post right now.

They're playing on my fears that Micheal J. Fox won't get the treatment he needs without stem cell research, and lying about the opponent's position.

They're playing on my fears that there are millions of single mothers of 8 that are working for $5.15 an hour.

They also did it in 2004. Remember Kerry telling us that our grandmothers were going to get the flu and die because of the vaccine shortage that he could have prevented?

Remember their social security was going to dissappear anyway?

I'll stop now. I need a beer. I'm scared the Demos and their energy kebashing is going to cause my fridge to go out, and I'll have to put my Budweiser on ice. Shame.

Again, no mention...
Kudos to Michelle for uncovering this. Oddly, it hasn't been reported anywhere else that I can see...but hey, when the Times committed treason, it was a cause celebre on the left. Pelosi and Murtha will sell us out to shari'a and all that will be left of America will be the cockroaches and large stretches of glass.

My only question is, Rep. Pelosi, "If a cockroach sings kumbaya and there are no humans to hear it, does it make any sound?"

Vote "not-Democrat" this November...for your children, yourself and your self-respect.

Oh, and Pinch? All your fakes are belong to us.

Thanks Michelle
for bringing the admission of NYT's editor to light. Nowhere in the MSM have I heard or read of it. Of course considering the bias it is to be expected. What tee's me off is that even with the admission of this traitorous act, they still will not face prosecution. And the Demo/Libs get a free pass as always.

MacZed,
you noticed it too. Fox is better than CNN, but its new call letters may be Fix. Fred Barnes talked down the importance of illegal immigration as an issue. The other day Fred and Mort sounded as though it was a sure thing that the Democrats will be in the majority after the coming elections.

Bill O'Reilly has done some positive things, but he also slips over into silliness in his tortuous efforts to sound "fair and balanced". Tony Snow was a phony who supported illegal immigration before he went to the White House.

I remember the quote that was attributed to Vladimer Putin. He said, "The media is not an institution, it is an instrument".

I don't think any of us can afford to forget that possibility. It might make George Bush's inexplicable refusal to seal the borders, and his covert moves to eliminate America's national sovreignty a little easier to understand.

Of course the conclusions to be drawn from a lot of this are too horrible to contemplate. I remember a book given to me by the first conservative I ever had a conversation with. It was called "None Dare Call it Treason".

I thought it was incredible at the time. It isn't incredible any longer.

Silicondoc....
It makes no sense if we don't know what you're talking about. But you do sound ravished.

O'Reilly
On the lower right of the screen is an ad for O'Reilly's book in which he takes aim at the Left. Has anyone read it?

bin Laden is a figurehead, tana
and you know it. Soon as he fell, another would take his place.

If Kimberly....

... shows up to comment on this gem from Michelle, she'll change the subject, or just demagogue her.

There's nothing to challenge here... the facts speak for themselves. The NYT screwed up, now admits it, but we won't hear a thing from the MSM, the Dems, or their mindless supporters.... other than excuses.

Oh... how I can't wait for Nov 8th and the charge: "We wuz robbed!" I predict endless recounts, all demanded by Dem losers.

Silicondoc
And yet you have the time, and access to a computer, to post here. There's still hope!

Btw, I did hear about the NYT guy regretting his decision to publish the SWIFT story elsewhere, either on Drudge or on the crawl ticker on FOX.

my 2 cents
silicondoc - you've got issues and so I guess I do too because I have no idea what you are talking about. I think you are trying to make your point with your pithy wit (pronounce THAT twice fast!) and we neo-cons would be staggered into admitting your superior intelligence and then be struck with remorse at whatever you might deign to stikie us with, but I can't really tell. I think that you were trying to make a point about President Bush - you don't like him.

Or - Maybe you didn't mean it.

The rest of you - why even read Kimberly? Just skip it.

Our resident liberals still don't get it
U.S. continuing involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Israel’s recent confrontation with Hezbollah are major battles or campaigns in a larger global war against Islamic radicalism. We achieved our primary objective in Iraq – Saddam is out of power. (Incidentally, the administration did not purposely lie about WMDs or anything else in the Iraq campaign, as the liberal media would have you believe.) We are now undertaking the next series of military and political operations to achieve the large-scale objective of defeating a cruel and unforgiving religious dogma. Better to fight them over there than over here. Remember, this “jihad” was brought to us and really began years, if not centuries, ago.

Disturbingly, liberals visualize these events as unrelated incidents that when resolved can be forgotten. It would be nice if that were true, but it’s not. I can only assume that they are naïve, clueless and so completely out of touch with the real world that they don’t understand or simply refuse to admit what is happening. Whether we like it or not, we are engaged in a global war with religious fundamentalists who will use any means to defeat us and to convert or subject our civilized world to their barbaric 7th century “sharia”.

To fellow conservatives: Actually, we are fighting a two-front war just as we did during WWII against National Socialism and Tojo imperialism, except now we are fighting Islamic fundamentalism and U.S. / EU left-wing liberalism. And as in WWII, both “isms” are aiding and abetting each other. If we are to survive as a free, sovereign nation we must overcome both of these threats.

The threat to our freedom
The Iraq campaign revealed a threat that may be more dangerous to our freedom than that of the jihadists. The liberal / left-wing establishment in this country and the EU is weakening our unity and our resolve in the war against radical Islam. At the same time their actions are emboldening and strengthening the jihadist. Unless we confront and overcome this 5th column of appeasers and defeatists within our ranks, a victory over the spread of radical Islam will be further impeded.

The covert assault on Europe, Africa, South America and other parts of the world by Islamic fundamentalists is underway. It has also begun in this country. If they succeed, nothing else will matter – not immigration reform, not tax reform, not even elections. The defeat of this threat should be at the top of everybody’s list – Democrats and Republicans.

uncle max
I never read Kimberly's posts. I have said before, that I will ignore her, and everyone else should, too.

Kimberly's ex is in the GOP
This is her revenge.

Who wanted to attack Iraq?
Ever hear of the Iraq Liberation Act?
Who signed it?

Do I need to post the litany of quotes from prominent Democrats in the 90s?

You are right on the Dem don,t get. Nor will they ever get it. They get their marching orders and never look up.

Maybe you should pull your head out of the sand and look at whats happening around you.

You could be like "INFORMED"

Silicondoc was joking guys,
see his last line:

We the democratic party endorse this message...

NRALifer
When I see that an organization's leaders include "Dingbat" Dellums, "Snippy" Steinem and "Lou The Bulge" Asner, far from wanting to join it, I want to put as much distance between myself and that group as the terrain permits.

P.S. - I just joined the National Rifle Association. Hopefully this will make some of our resident elitist-statists' heads explode.

They changed the color, Dave
The helicopters are no longer black. They painted them sky blue to make them harder to see. There's one outside right now. You have to listen for them, but they're there. Always. Or at least until a Democratic administration comes along. Then all the homeless become invisible (at least to the newspapers), the deficit vanishes (even as it grows), terrorism is once again something that happens to other people (or to Americans in other countries), and the helicopters mysteriously vanish (replaced by illegal FBI and IRS investigations of conservative groups).

Like Michelle, I have a lot of differences with this administration on a lot things, but if the Democrats think that means I'll vote for them, they are beyond delusional. As an example, I cite the current Senate race here in Maryland. I don't know that Michael Steele is the right man for the job, and I'm not with him on all counts, but I've looked at Ben Cardin's record and I'm sure he's not the right man for the job. Anyone who wants to ask the NEA how to fix our schools is way beyond out of touch with reality.

Eon
"P.S. - I just joined the National Rifle Association. Hopefully this will make some of our resident elitist-statists' heads explode."

Caution: I had to quit active NRA membership because of the DELUGE of junk mail and solicitations. At one point, they started sending me videos that I had to take time to return or pay for. For me, they were a ROYAL pain in the butt!

I rabidly support the 2nd Amendment, but now I belong to smaller, more localized rifle and pistol groups.

I have said it before
If we ignore Kimberly she might scurry away with the other Dim-o-Rats.
I'm sure she blogs in the cover of darkness, as all rats do.

Get out and vote for the GOP and then if you want to change the way they act let them know you are watching and they had better straighten up. Lets get a TRUE Conservative in 2008 and the
Dim-o-Rats won't be able to stop us.

ITreasonous reporters need to hang
If we started enforcing our High Treason Laws and hung a few irresponsible reporters for endangering the lives of 300 Million Americans, this stupid crap would stop.
Seems like they electrocuted spies named Rosenberg in the 40's for leaking state secrets inside boxes of gelatin powder.
Then the New York Freaking Times had the unadulterated gaul to print state secrets on their front page?!?!
The article writers and editors should face a firing squad in front of the building. No that would be too quick and clean.
Oh, I know, they should be drawn and quartered. That would definitely get the attention of other Lib Dolts in the MSM.

republican failing
One point I take issue with the current adminstration is not frog marching the NYTimes editor off to jail for revealing the terrorist financial tracking program.

Revealing US surveillance techniques is NOT protected political speech.

Vaccine shortage
DDave: "They also did it in 2004. Remember Kerry telling us that our grandmothers were going to get the flu and die because of the vaccine shortage that he could have prevented?"

And do we know WHY there was a vaccine shortage? Because, in her infinite wisdom, Hitlary pushed through legislation regarding the provision of vaccines at below-cost "for the chilren" - thus manufacturers made the business decision to bow out of vaccine production so as not to incur inordinate costs, including lawsuits, which results in only a few vaccine manufacturers in Europe providing flue vaccines for the world.

Unintended consequences - yet another reason to vote "R" in two weeks.

Laura Root

DavidM
I agree. All the lefties want Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, and the President and Vice President frog-marched off and shot at dawn for compromising national security by revealing classified information in the Plame "affair." The editors and publisher of the NY Slimes, the reporters who wrote the articles, and the demoncRAT congressional aides and CIA operatives who gave the reporters the info on SWIFT, the telephone surveillance program, and the NIE should be charged with espionage and treason. They actually did what the lefties fantasize Libby, et. al. did. And add Sandy Burglar to the mix.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO TREASON?
JIMBO-
I'm not a member of NRA, though I fully approve of them and their goals. Unfortunately a lot of political organisations will bombard you with pleas for money just like they do. It appears that the subscriber lists to THE WEEKLY STANDARD are rented out for conservative-cause junk mail.
----------------------------------
The sad state of affairs since the hippie generation assumed power in America is that it's not really a crime to undermine it anymore. In those backward days before the 60's, Treason was one of the worst crimes one could engage in. But since the Rosenbergs, less and less severe punishments are meted out. Out and out double agents like Harold Nicholson, Aldrich Ames, and the Pollards only serve prison sentences. By the time of Clinton, characters like Wen Ho Lee are not only allowed to in fact take away our sensitive secrets, but he was given all kinds of cover and set free.
Now one-time excecutionable offences have less punishment waiting for the perps than jaywalking.
The MSM, The Teacher's Unions and worthless ACLU-infected courts have made it more of a transgression to be a patriot than a traitor.

THE AGE OF TREASON
Well, of course, some kind of something got into the whole world's water, this twisted new sense of justice wherein nobody should ever be excecuted for anything.
This absurd liberal respect for worthless murderers and perverts' lives is only matched by their contempt for unborn children's.
In Europe today, they bray proudly over the fact that they've outlawed excecutions, and see that as an indictment of how primitive and barbaric Americans are.
At one time, Britain had the will to deter treachery. In 1946 they excecuted a man named William Joyce ("Lord Haw-Haw") simply for making mocking radio broadcasts for the Germans, aimed at Britain. You'll recall our equivellant, "Tokio Rose", was not excectued, but perhaps that was because she was female. She did go to prison though.
But Britain became rife with double-agents working for the Soviets in the 50's and 60's. They were pretty much all allowed to escape to Moscow or go on living in the UK. Now now even disloyalty isn't as important as showing their moral superiority.

The Politics of Children.
I have posted this before and because of the topic I am repeating it.

Have you ever noticed that dissent is shrill and over the top, only when the dissenter is Conservative?

Have you ever noticed that the DEMs talking points sound like the words of kindergartners?

Have you ever noticed once a person grows up and becomes a conservative, they never return to their childish liberal ideas? Yet Liberals, turn Conservative all the time.

No adult, even liberals, would let their 5 yr old make finacial or life decisions for their family, so why do they vote for politicians that think like children?

Everytime I hear a Liberal claim that Bush lied and am reminded of my young children saying to me, "You Promised!"

Here in Minnesota, a paid Patty Weterling campaign worker tried to lie their way into the Micheal Bachman campaign. This is a prime example of the depravity of Liberals. They actually think this type of thing is OK, as long as they win!

Liberals are childish scum that can no longer be loyal Patriotic Americans. Their Patriotism is all used up being loyal to their Party and Ideology. Murtha and Kerry are nothing less then today's Benidict Arnolds.

Has anyone heard a statement of policy from a Liberal in this campaign with any substance? Liberals talk alot about "mainsteam" values, has anyone heard what these are?

Since the Liberal's plan is to raise taxes to solve every budget problem they run into and they seem to raise them every year by atleast 1%, what are they going to do when the tax rates are 100%?

Treason and it lesser crimes were forgotten when the Government failed to enforce the laws against the traitors of the sixties. Carter pardoned all of the traitors, so John Kerry and Bill Clinton, to name a few DFLers, got free passes and avoided their felony idictments and trials.

There is not one single issue where the Democrats have been right. Not one.
-In foriegn policy they continually undermine America and extend our wars. The Cold War, Vietnam War and the Iraq War.
-At Home they have created social programs that are unconstitutional, will or have bankrupted the federal budgets and have been a drag on the economy.
-They get support from unions which have become nothing more than DFL PACs. Unions, an increasingly infrequent nessessary evil, have through their artificial wage and benifit inflation destroyed the manufacting base in America. Nearly all outsourcing to overseas of manufacturing jobs is due to cost of the final product being to high from inflated wages. $20 plus for unskilled labor working a line is ridiculus.
-The DFL with all of their bluster about caring for children, pander to the Teacher's Unions. The Teachers Unions do not represent our children, they represent the teachers and their interests are not the same. BTW Teachers are NOT under paid. They are well paid for the job they do. My biggest question is why does it take twice as much to teach a public school child, than a private school child and the the public education is inferior?

History will judge Conservitives as being on the right side of almost every issue, while Liberals will have been on the wrong side. For all of their faults, Nixon and Reagan are already seen as successes, while Carter and Clinton are seen as abject failures.

Silicondoc
"Call me the new american, we all are." I'll call you the new ANTI-American. You all are.

Treason?

.....After Jane Fonda posed atop a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun during war time...and is still treated like a rock star by the MSM...and John Kerry colaborated with the enemy during war time and came within one State of becoming President...why should the NYT worry about printing classified info?...

.....in our Liberal-influenced politically correct culture treason is passe and patriotism is synonomous with Fascism...

.....however...a day of reckoning might be imminent for Kerry....after spending his money and influence to suppress the showing of the documentary, "Stolen Honor: Wounds that never Heal"...the Kerry camp wasn't satisfied with keeping the documentary from being shown...they decided to sue the producer (Carlton Sherwood for libel and defamation...

.....this has resulted in a counter suit (Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation, et al v. Kenneth Campbell et al) to challenge the basis...the factual accuracy of then Lt. (j.G.) Kerry's acrimonious testimony before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971...so maybe some long due justice is in the works...

IT'S HIP TO BE STUPID
That's what you get from the Hollywoodised mainstream culture. I guess it all began with the concept of "Brand loyalty". It would seem that no matter what you buy as a consumer, you will find favorites, be it be cereal, toothpaste or automobiles, you will find one you like, and by middle age, you'll generally stick with it. If you're basically a freshman consumer, in high school-college years, you haven't formed a brand loyalty yet, and you're still susceptible to advertising, and willing to try new products or brands. That's the prized demographic for every stinking show the networks offer: The 18-35 year olds. That's why all the faces are young ones. That's why the political language is dumb as dirt; they're only interested in kids.
A huge part of our infantized culture is concerned with being "COOL". Remember how important being a Cool kid was? In the course of growing a smidgin of maturity, you realise just how stupid and sheeplike Cool kids and the Cool concept is. Well, now, you're urged to NEVER get that mature, and be ever-engaged in the need for "Coolness". It's high school forever! Cartoons, short pants, Body Piercings, tattoos and hip hop, are all supposed to be part of adult life too. How many times have you seen grown, even older guys, wearing baseball caps instead of grown up hats?
And being a liberal Democrat is ALWAYS portrayed as being something COOL. it's another way you can be young forever. The GOP is shown to be the boring old grown-ups. You might be 50 years old, but you can STILL rebel against Daddy! If you have any sense, you'll prefer that adults be in power, but the siren call of COOL and youth proves to overpower the better insticts of far too many Americans.

Hey, gang, it's 12:45 p.m. and not a peep out of Kimberly! (Yipee!!) Maybe her computer crashed.

Sorry, I'm pretty conservative, but still wear a baseball cap. I would also rather wear short pants than slacks because they're more comfortable.

Your point is well taken though and I agree with you. Liberalism is what Ponce De Leon was seeking, it is the fountain of youth! You never have to be responsible or accountable for anything. I would like to understand how liberals hold themselves accountable for anything?

demorats
democrats do not care what happens to the country as long as they get power again, they want us to lose in iraq just so they can say we told ya so, its deplorable what they are saying while we have troops in a life and death situation. pelosi doesnt even think its a war and believes if we just leave iraq then it will be over and all the terrorists will lay down there arms and all will be right with the world,do we need people so dense in power positions in our government. mean while we have hillary wanting to be president god help us,the wife of a man that let waco and ruby ridge happen,do we want to go down that road again.

Wow....
By and large... this column's comments section has been a "liberal free" zone today! Of course, it's early yet.

Oh.... and Tanabear? Here you go:

But "Accountability" is just one of those old fogey words/concepts that only apply to grown ups! Winning BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY is the name of the liberal game- and it works for them that way- look at how the exact same things Republicans are in hot water about were meaningless when it happened to Democrats, like the Foley Page boy thing. Just like Clinton, if you have no sense of shame, your constituants won't be ashamed of you. If you're a Republican, you're held to account. Maybe if we were as shameless..... but no, the MSM would undoubtably be S H O C K E D !.....S H O C K E D !; and the Left would dogpile on it until yet another insincere crusade against the GOP "Culture Of Corruption" would saturate public discourse.

baseballerdoc
Human events sent me that article. And it looks as though John Kerry may be forced by the courts to expose the lies he's built his career on. From his self-inflicted wounds to his self-awarded Purple hearts. And how he promoted his political position by becoming a traitor to the Vietnam Vets and America. In doing this he rallied the support of the anti-war, anti-American crowd and became their hero. Propelling him into office.

It is this same Liberal mindset that seeks to further undermine our sovereignty by placing far-left communistic, socialist Liberals in office, like Nancy Peloski! God help us if we, the American people, allow that to happen!

Mrs. Malkin hit a home run
Several months ago I posted "Political Children" on my blog. There are other examples and I'd like your ideas.

After reading Kimberley for several months I quit wasting time as I found nothing to stimulate discussion there. I want to see ideas. She'll avoid this because what can be said in opposition?

Primus54
LOL! I had thought of posting a similar post regarding the neo-con phrase used by Tany. I was going to build a block of "neo-cons" about for times the size of yours. But then decided it was a waste of time. He/it will never learn. Anyway, glad to see someone else feels the same!

Goshawk
With some of the posters here and elsewhere... I swear they have a Word document they keep open to cut & paste the same paragraphs over and over.

I forget her screen name... "Kathy", maybe? Anyway, the poster who keeps blaming Massachusetts' gay marriage law on the governor, Mitt Romney. Now she is as bad as Tana-Neocon-Bear. And no matter how many times she has been corrected on constitutional law, she just can't get off the governor's back about it.

Oh well... I guess it gives me something to b*tch about, eh?

FACTOTUM
You're pretty much on the mark. I stopped trying to rebel against Dad when I first took him to his VFW hall and bought HIM a beer. God rest his soul.

Primus 54
So very true! I give the Liberal posts a mere glance to see if there is anything of substance. There never is. Just the same thing repeated over and over. I don't think the entire group has a free working brain between them!

swift???
An issue of fact. I thought that SWIFT is an international code used to allow money to be transfered to financial instiutions around the world; and Wikipedia backed me up. Last time I wired money to Oz, I was asked to get my folk's bank's SWIFT code.

The program Michelle refers to works with the SWIFT code organization to try to track terrorist funding - but it is not the same thing.

The war on terror
Otter raises an important point. When we were all learning who the heck Al Qaida is, the experts made the point that it is a decentralised organization, able to create cells with one ideology but not one central leadership.

Why then do the dems make such a fuss about Bin Laden? The fact that we do not have his butt in a prison is supposed to be proof that Bush is fighting some war other than a war on terror. He is not focussed on destroying Islamic fascism, we are told. He is still fighting his father's war on Saddam, and trying to reap richer rewards for his oil-field buddies, we are assured.

But Islamism is obviously bigger than Al Qaida and Al Qaida is bigger than Bin Laden. Was anyone shocked that after the death of Zarqawi, another murderer stepped up to the plate? Not me, anyway. Is that the whole substance of the critique of the war on terror?

DON'T CRY FOR THE STRAW MAN
drew-
Even the symbolism of adults having the authority over kids is repugnant. A liberal I know got high and mighty over the passing of Jane Wyatt a few days ago, giving me an idignant, worn out diatribe about the "lies" told by Ozzie Nelson about family values, and racism, and sexism and he was really gay and he molested his sons, and "everybody" (but me) now knows that. Of course, Miss Wyatt had nothing to do with ol' Oz, but why even start? Nelson was and is a symbol, just like the other bright, thoughtful, loving, responsible TV fathers of the Black & White era. Every one of them was a brick, all of them down to Herman Munster was a man who believed in doing right, providing for his family, and the American dream. The Left hates the whole lot. Why concentrate on how "unrealistic" those shows and how simplistic the characters were?
But just how realistic are TV shows supposed to be? They were idealized characters. What's WRONG with having ideals?
Liberals swooned with the supposed "realistic" depictions of "real" people in All In The Family. It's an America hating fantasy with characters that played from that source. Archie Bunker is an impossible creature; he's profoundly brain damaged. He couldn't function on his own. He can't put more than two sentences together in succession without a maloprop that even Leo Gorcey would turn down; he has no social grace at all; he steals, he lies, and he never gets away with it to boot. He's a perfect description of a non-liberal by a liberal.
I recall when it was new they had cat's paw "conservatives' talking up how now they'd have a champion to get their opinions aired; and of course, a conservatives "opinions" means racial epithets. Archie was a straw man, a charicature of the enemy.

Went to your blog and left a reply to cowboys. Well said! I would urge all conservatives that care, to read his blog. BrianR, Cyne, NRAlifer, Flagwaver, Celt, et all need to take a look and leave your comments.

wow, liberals would like to see the new york times just give the fanatics all our secrets to how we go about stopping terrorists as long as it bashes the bush administration and satisfies the george soros liberal army,i got an idea why doesnt george soros get the h--l out of this country and go back where he came from and take a couple of liberal members of the senate under each arm with him like hillary and chucky .

MacZed
No sweat bro! You need recognition. And good luck with your officer candidate review. Will look forward to further blogs!

Speaking of using words to devolve into a rant...

"...desperately drags..."
"...partisan wailing..."
"...naive, perhaps'childish'..."
"...another juvenile tactic..."
"...using terrorism to scare the public..."
"...cut our media off at the knees..."
"...gag their freedom..."
"..out of control GOP government..."
"...beyond childish and borders on de-evolution..."
"...constant falsehoods..."
"...no trouble spewing..."

One thing you did get right though, there is absolutely no need to thank you.

Typical Drive-By Kim post:

"To believe the terrorist don't know we track their financial data is naive - perhaps "childish" - given that it was public record. But it was widely viewed as just another juvenile tactic on the part of the WH to cast aspersions on the media and the Democrats, once again using terrorism to scare the public."

"... widely viewed?" Maybe widely viewed on the Daily Kos and Moveon.org sites... you know, the propaganda division of the socialists.

Kimmy... you have convinced me that, although no intellectual lightweight, you have absolutely zero intellectual honesty.

And even though I suspect "Kimberly" is a screen name for several authors of the usual leftist talking points... "she" or "they" are wasting their time trying to change any minds here. If anything, probably the opposite.

Hey... now there's a thought. Maybe "Kimberly" is really Karl Rove pretending to be a nut-job Lib to intentionally solidify our base!! Yep... I'll bet that's it!

Darth Rove strikes again!

Leroy
Great volley on DBK (Drive-By Kim)!

Anybody notice how brutal "she" gets on anything Malkin or Coulter writes? I mean, she's tough on all conservative columnists, but she gets absolutely apoplectic with the beautiful & smart Michelle & Ann.

Me thinks there is some serious jealousy going on here!

Of course, Kimmy thinks Ann is really a male. Maybe it's not jealousy.... pen*s envy, maybe?

release of classifies information
If anyone in government was serious about stopping the release of classifies information the leakers could be caught. Too many people know about these leaks to keep them a secret. A large reward for "information leading to the capture and conviction" of leakers that reveal classified information would produce results. This should operate like the "Crime Stopper" hot lines that police departments now have for regular crooks. A million dollar reward for turning in a leakers would open some mouths or at least make potential leakers very nervous. One or more leakers convicted of divulging classified information during time of war or better yet full-blown treason would deter the partisan political leaks.

Do as Ms. Malkin tells you now, alright?
I hope you conservatives understand your orders now. You must vote for Republicans, because Democrats are terrorist-abetting children. Do not let your nagging doubts and questions (about Iraq, for example) make traitors of you. Oh, but what am I saying? I know you won't do that, because you're all good conservatives, aren't you? You would never want to betray your nation by questioning your government's motives, I just know you wouldn't. So you just take your little selves on over to your assigned neighborhood polling station on November 7 and vote the straight Republican ticket, you understand, because you're the conservative base, and your big daddies in Washington are counting on you.

The bounty idea is tempting but at best it would just create another government agency and at worst be eventually taken over by the far left.

One would think that if nothing else respect for the country you call home would be enough but honor is no longer a word much in vouge today.

How about any government employee found to be a source losses their job, all pension, can no longer be employeed by the federal government or for any state government with programs receiving federal funds.

Any reporter responsible for publicizing classified material losses their press pass allowing them into any government facility for press coverage for life and government employees will no longer be allowed to grant interviews with them.

Of course that would keep the ACLU and courts tied in knots for years, which maybe ain't bad either.

once again the demo-rats dont get it,none of us get marching orders from any one but by our similar beliefs that liberals suck, we do not sign onto gun control ,abortion, gay rights, weak defence,or any other liberal ideas and our marching orders are to march in and boot out the element thats ruining america with there solcialist ideas and pacifist ways of dealing with terrorists by trying to give them rights they dont deserve ,we do not stick up for terrorists and we dont defend illeagal aliens like ted kennedy, the same guy who let a girl drown when the drunk ran off the road "drunk" and saved himself but forgot the woman left inside, aas long as there are liberals we try to get rid of them, there way of thinking is not the american way.

Malou
If I could just hear some constructive things the Democrats had, you know some genuine ideas. Not the "We aren't Bush" and "We aren't Republicans", I hear all this "We will do great things" but like what?

"Oh we're gonna fix stuff", but don't say how.

And as far as Iraq, you may find this hard to believe but I wouldn't have gone in first place. Yeah, that's right. That low life scum bag Sadam was doing a fine job of butchering muslims without our help, maybe he would have even twisted up at Iran by now and they would be killing each other off by the thousands. Good ridance to bad garbage all.

I for one do not and never have voted a straight ticket, there are some Dems at the local level I'm pretty danged pleased with. Sure wish they'd try for higher office but personally I believe them to be too principled for that.

Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and Al Gore form the center of the Democrat party, man you call that stability?

cowboy
So what are we going to do on the border? I mean I live about a two hour drive, been here all my life and nothing at all has changed. Well except maybe for the volume of north bound traffic. And please don't say a wall or fence, that will just be another tremendous waste of tax money.

And as for security, I would really like to see them issue every able bodied man getting onto an airplane a baseball bat. Someone gets out of line he gets the tar whaled out of him. Maybe see about doing it in subways and buses too.

Security starts at home with the individual, quit waiting for Big Mommy Government to watch out for you and do things for you. Pull up your britches, cinch up your belt and start doing for yourself. If everybody on the street were carrying a shotgun we would all be a whole lot more civil to each other.

I stopped reading your post when I came to "Everytime I hear a Liberal claim that Bush lied and am reminded of my young children saying to me, "You Promised!"". So how often do you lie to your children by "promising" something and then not fulfilling your "promise"? It may work well for you to coerce your children into doing whatever you want them to right now. However when they get older and you tell them to not have sex or drink alcohol or do drugs etc. because of all the negative consequences that usually follow such behavior, they will not believe you.

Good style,
good ideas!

btw,
do we all have jobs?????
just checking!

Primus,
I was a little disappointed with Kimberly's post though; she didn't accuse anyone of projecting.

Malou,
"I hope you conservatives understand your orders now. You must vote for Republicans, because Democrats are terrorist-abetting children."

Actually, most of us will vote for the R simply because 99.9% of Dems are shockingly less conservative than the R's are. And Zell ain't runnin'. That Dems are are terrorist-abetting children is besides the point.

Goshawk,
On my way over to check Mac Z's blog now; thanks for the tip.

pitbull
your right ,i just get so fed up with the way them liberals think, sure we have some things in the gop i dont like because i dont think they go far enough, like the border problem,at least something is being done now where as the dems didnt do anything and didnt want to do anything, heck hillary was speaking to the crowd of illeagals and she was on there side and a few other libs were doing it too.i think the president should arm the guard and give them arresting power, plus permission to take out whoever shoots at them or the border patrol.i dont see any other way to stop the invasion of illeagals and drug trafficers and armed cartel soldiers, but the dems do not even want what we are doing now like the fence etc,. we have to do something besides the terrorists are sneaking in through the border, they have caught hezbolah comming in.

Cynewulf
You're right! She didn't, did she?!

I don't know... maybe THAT Kimberly is off today, or is working third trick.

Awww... I just can't resist projecting!

I "project" some mighty long liberal faces come Nov 8th (or whenever the Lib demanded recounts are over).

Former_Rep_Never_a_Dem
Lie?

Why does an unfulfilled promise have to be a LIE? Could an unforseen and unavoidable circumstance made the promise impossible to fulfill. As a Father, I learned early on not to make promises. Besides, surprizing them was so much fun.

When Bush said their were WMDs in Iraq, EVERYONE in the world thought so too. The French, British, the UN and just about everyone else thought they were there. Bush made the WMD statements, believing they were true. A lie is only a lie when the person knows it is untrue when it is spoken.

This train of thought is similar to the use of the word "Facts" by Liberals. If ten liberals say something is true, then it is 'fact'. Even if there are ten non-liberals saying it is false. "Facts", for liberals is any statement or opinion that backs up or re-enforces their opinion or stance. If they wanted 2 plus 2 to equal 5, then the liberals would just repeat it enough times until they convinced themselves that it was true.

Global warming is a theory, not a fact!
Bush was mistaken, he did not lie!

Elections!!!!!!
Just a little Public Service Announcement,

This year elections are being held a little different.

Conservatives are supposed to vote on Tuesday and Liberals are supposed to vote on Wednesday.

;-) Hehehehehehehehe

The Republican Party is NOT Conservative
