Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

. $7 billion for modernizing federal buildings and facilities.

This is the result of turning the Democrats loose after years of frustration during the years of my dad's presidency, George W. Bush's four years in the White House, Republican control of Congress from 1992 to 2006, and George Bush 43's presidency, when they couldn't fund their wildest dreams.

All of the crazy stuff they once couldn't get passed is now in the pipeline, starting with the stimulus package. What's interesting here is the question of exactly where Barack Obama stands on all of this Democratic squandermania.

When he spoke with the Republican leadership on Tuesday, it was obvious he hadn't the vaguest idea of what's included in that $825 billion stimulus package. Yet he's the one who is going to have to scramble to find ways to borrow all that money to pay for the items in the bill.

According to House Minority Leader John Boehner, the president was learning some of what is in the package at the same time Republicans are learning about its provisions.

My question is if when Obama sees all of the gaudy stuff in the bill, will he rear up on his hind legs and veto the thing?

If he doesn't, he will be acknowledging that the real power lies in the hands of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, a couple of whackos, and for the next four years he'll be doing their bidding.

Alright, I've looked into this Social Credit thing and admit that it's a body of philosphy I was heretofore unaware of. My apologies to DEACON. However, I remain sceptical but will look into it and get back to you sometime. It's just this whole 'common good' mentality as Rand warned about in "Atlas Shrugged" and which seems to be popularly bandied about nowdays as an excuse for more government interference into every aspect of our lives and commerce makes me very wary. Being human, we are all endowed with inalienable rights, and no man should seek to undermind the dignity of another for personal gain. However, it seems that not all are created with equal ability. Sad as that may be its part of the human experience: the poor will always be with us no matter what we do. So giving credits to level the playing field, so to speak, for the underpriveleged seems counterproductive as human nature kicks in and there is a resultant decrease in desire to achieve. That's why socialism dosent work. It is anathema to human nature.

Liberal Hypocracy/Blago
I work with a man who says that Tim Geithner should have been confirmed immediately because he's smart and we need him and the Republicans were holding up his nomination to be Treasury Secretary because of the tax and nanny issues.

Of course to liberal Democrats scandal should only hold up appointments if the offender is Republican. If it's on their side then we hear things like "It's a blip" or "No big deal" or some other excuse and we get accused of being obstructionists. What hypocracy.

By the way score one for the good guys. The Illinois legislature voted to remove Blagojevich from office and the vote was unanimous. And you wouldn't know it from the MSM but Blago had a (D) after his name. I have noticed that when scandal comes to a Democrat the MSM plays that fact down to almost nothing but if it is a Republican they anounce his party affiliation 5 times in the first paragraph of the story. Again hypocracy.
