Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Yet we continue to loathe the country that provides that opportunity, a country singularly capable of executing such a feat. We are a country apart from others in this regard, but a country pulling all others along nonetheless.

Yet we overly criticize our country, our past, our government, and our policies. We burn our flag. We desecrate monuments to our history. We self-loathe.

In the short fifty years that we have stabilized as a rich and prosperous country we have accelerated growth and opportunity across the globe. We have been a force for stability and security, and hundreds of millions of people live free because of our sacrifices and generosity. And yet we pick at our imperfections and diminish our accomplishments through hyper-critical analyses of policies executed with the best of intentions and overwhelming governmental approval.

We have been an overwhelming force of good throughout the entirely of our existence. We have saved Europe from utter devastation twice in the last century. We went to the moon. We have produced an overwhelming majority of the most meaningful inventions, and developed an overwhelming majority of the most prolific companies. We send more volunteers to the rest of the world than any other nation, and send aid endlessly across the globe. We donate our wealth in record amounts. We import thousands of students to our first rate universities every year. We share our good fortune across the globe through trade, tourism, charity, and aid.

We share Disneyland, and its message of hope and goodwill, with the rest of the world.

What's not to loathe?

To Peppermint
You ask why liberals can't distinguish conservatives' constructive criticism from pure hate. Gosh, I don't know. I'm having a lot of trouble that way myself. Maybe you can help. The other night I devoted a good while to reading your serialized online novella "The Diary of Juliet Smith" that you keep inviting everybody to link to. I thought it gave a pretty good view of your fantasy life. In it, you shoot named Democrats in the head, tear them limb from limb, and feed them to dogs. Tell me, Peppermint, because I'm really curious: is that what's called "constructive criticism" of Democrats?

For Letsallrelax
"Were the ones whi lynched blacks Liberals?"

Most of them were faithful Democrats. What does this have to do with hating America?

"Were the police who murdered those poor Civil Rights workers Liberals?"

Again, they were Democrats. What does this have to do with hating America?

"Was Nixon with his henchmen and Watergate abuses a liberal?"

Nixon gave us OSHA, the EPA, and expanded the quota system known as Affirmative Action. He bragged that he and his economic advisers were "Keynesians" (Keynes was a liberal economist), and his Keynesian policies, which included price-wage freezes, caused the first gasoline shortage in our history. Nixon's participation in Watergate was a testament to his ego and lack of scruples, not his politics. The only thing "conservative" about Nixon was his dislike of communism, yet it was also Nixon who re-opened relations with communist China. So by many standards, yes, Nixon was very liberal. What does this have to do with hating America?

"Was Oliver North, of secret war fame, a Liberal?"

Oliver North is a decorated war veteran who has NEVER been found to have committed anything approaching the crimes and corruption of many elected officials (including Bill Clinton, John Murtha, Alcee Hastings, Pat Leahy, Hillary Clinton, and Ted Kennedy). North is a conservative who put his life on the line to serve his country. What does this have to do with hating America?

"Were the ones who manipulated the inteligence about WMD's in Iraq Liberals?"

You have furnished NO evidence the WMD intelligence was "manipulated" at all (Hint: rumors repeated endlessly at lib websites are not "evidence". They are SLANDER.) What does any of this have to do with hating America? Before you answer, remember that LBJ, who we know for a fact LIED to Congress to get the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution passed, was a liberal.

"Were the ones who humiliated General Powell, (a really honourable man), with their falsehoods Liberals?"

Nobody humiliated Colin Powell. However, some liberals at kook lib websites have denigrated Powell for his service in Vietnam. The implications I read were that he participated in alleged atrocities. You know. More liberal SLANDER of a patriotic American. These implications of course were written before it became publicly known that Powell resigned over the decision to invade Iraq, which instantly converted him from a "house n*gg*r" to a hero in the eyes of the left.

"Were the Enron directors Liberals?"

Were they conservatives? They donated more money to Ann Richards than they did to Bush. What does this have to with hating America?

"Were the thieves at Worldcom Liberals?"

Were they conservatives? How do you know? What does this have to do with hating America?

"Are the gun-merchants who sell weapons to kids Liberals?"

Provide us their names and we'll tell you (presuming you're not making this up out of thin air). What does this have to do with hating America? I can tell you that the ones who want to disarm the citizenry so we can be subjugated by our own governemnt are liberals.

"Is it the Liberals who force millions of Americans to go without health insurance?"

No one in America is forced to go without health insurance any more than they are forced to go without a lawyer if they are arrested. If they can't afford health care it is furnished by the government for free. It IS liberals who want to force millions of people to buy health insurance even though they don't want it or need it.

And what does it have to do with hating America even someone IS forced to go without health insurance? Where is "health insurance" listed as one of our inalienable rights?

"So just give it a break, guys and gals. You're throwing stones in glass houses!"

You can't even get your proverbs right. The warning is to not throw stones FROM glass houses.

Not one of your examples of unscrupulous behavior has anything to do with hating America.

Hating America has to do with teaching children that the founders of this country were slavers and killers (Note: The country was not founded by the KKK, only certain parts of the Democrat party were.)

It has to do with traitors like Jane Fonda encouraging the VC and RVN to keep fighting our soldiers.

It has to do with traitors like John Kerry lying to Congress about atrocities he never saw and probably never happened to further his own political career.

It has to do with Congressional Democrats giving verbal encouragement and even visiting communist dictators like Castro and Ortega.

It has to do with liberal loons like Cindy Sheehan and Danny Glvoer going to South America to kiss up to Hugo Chavez and call George Bush names.

It has to do with bimbos like the Dixie Chicks going to London and saying they are ashamed to be from the same state as the President.

It has to do Democrats in Congress today trying to sabotage the Iraq War primarily to deny a Republican President a foreign policy success without regard to whether it really is in America's best interest to lose another war.

Clowns like you are a big part of the problem.
