Poll
Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Polling still shows that many Americans like their new president. But polling also shows that the Democratic Congress, starting with an out-of-control House of Representatives, has managed in less than two weeks to create a scenario that could permanently cripple the Obama presidency. The mess of a so-called stimulus package it passed on to the Senate became toxic with critically important independent voters so quickly that now a rework in the Senate is unlikely to reverse the bill's unpopularity.

More distressing for President Obama is that expectations of an immediate boost from stimulus legislation, which he has been desperately trying to manage, remain. And that's regardless of how many times the president warns that recovery will not come soon. But with so many organizations, state governments, special interests and scared and financially ruined people expecting relief, Obama has been placed in a no-win situation.

In my book "Paranoid Nation," about the 2008 race for the presidency, I note many similarities between then-candidate Barack Obama and former president Jimmy Carter. And I certainly was not alone in drawing such comparisons. Carter, following the years of Richard Nixon's Watergate and Gerald Ford's pardon of Nixon, was viewed as an agent of real change.

Like Obama, Carter's past political career seemed foreign to most of the media -- his southern-based political past looked small time and hard for the national media to grasp. Obama's meteoric rise from Chicago-style politics to a brief stint in the Senate left him an enigma to many as well.

While Carter chose to enter the White House with a clear effort to avoid the so-called "Washington Establishment," President Obama has embraced Washington insiders in an effort to avoid amateur mistakes.

But the amateur mistakes have come rolling one after another in the past weeks. And while a failure to properly vet big names for cabinet posts resulted in a confession from Obama that "I screwed up" -- his candor helps him in the polls -- the whole issue of flawed potential administration officials is merely a sideshow.

The fact is that Barack Obama, while trying to meet a dire economic crisis, has fallen straight into the trap that led Jimmy Carter to defeat in his bid for reelection. Obama has sought to promise and do too much in too short a period of time in a city where Congress, federal departments and agencies, and bureaucrats can and will eat a new president alive.

James Fallows, a former Carter speechwriter, wrote a May 1979 piece in The Atlantic in which he reflected on the first years of the Carter presidency. He noted that Carter promised during his first "fireside chat" that he would present the nation with a comprehensive plan to deal with energy independence "within 90 days." Fallows goes on to note that Carter later came to understand that strict deadlines could be destructive "in that they might force him to go ahead with half-baked ideas."

Well, if ever there was a collection of half-baked ideas, it is the combination of George W. Bush's rushed bailout plan, which we now realize had no structure or oversight, followed up with Barack Obama's "infrastructure" effort to get people working with "shovels in the ground." That's now turned into the world's biggest collection of rubbish for not creating jobs.

Carter had to deal with a tough and Washington-savvy house speaker, Tip O'Neill. O'Neill and Carter started off on the wrong foot when Carter's staff failed to give O'Neill the proper number of inaugural tickets he sought. Things went downhill from there. And on the Senate side, Ted Kennedy was licking his chops to challenge Carter, thus forcing Carter to more liberal positions than he was expected to take.

Now Barack Obama has Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who, along with fellow Democrats, loaded Obama's bill with everything but the kitchen sink; and he has Harry Reid, who early on made it clear it was his Senate, not Obama's.

Now that the stimulus bill is in real trouble, Obama is trying desperately to pull back from the breadth of the bill.

But it was President Obama's own words to NBC's Brian Williams this week that tells the true story. He told Williams that it was necessary to use the current crisis to force the nation to deal with long-term issues such as healthcare ... and energy.

But wait: I thought Jimmy Carter had that one solved within 90 days after his first fireside chat. And look where he ended up four years later.

CARTER VS OBAMA
OB1 WILL MAKE CARTER LOOK LIKE A CHOIR BOY.

Obama crippled but still re-electable!
Carter did not have the middle eastern catel funding his campaign. This boost of 'foreign aid' gives Obama an economic advantage that drowns out his opponents. That is why he can and he will get re-elected. Also, white americans who have been trained to a feel guilty for all things about american will avoid being seen as a racist nation that 'rejected a reelection bid for the black candidate'. The race card is alive and well and don't doubt for one second, it will come back big and strong in 2012. He will be relected with 43% of the nations voters. He will pay a third candidate, that is chicago style politics.

Thanks Sam - the movie looks great!
No wonder he is funding hollywood. He needs them to make a BIG BLOCK BUSTER OF 'Obama presidency' and have Danzel play him. They will counter with a bigger and more money film that will make him look like 'a messiah' sent to save us while he is destroying us.

..................
We are approaching the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution which Dhimmi Carter allowed to occur under his miserable watch. Domestically the US was economically ravaged due to Carter's ineptness and shortsighted liberal policies, the same policies Obama is advocating now. Abroad the global paradigm was shifting under cheers of “Death to America!” The Islamic Revolution gave birth to a terror state that became the leading sponsor of terrorism worldwide, from hezbollah to its palestinian proxies such as hamas.

Obama had been having backdoor discussions with Iranian officials prior to the election, which is a crime, and has conveyed to Israel that they need to accept the “reality” of a nuclear Iran. Not only is this unthinkable to Israel, it is to Western Europe as well as the United Arab Emirates and other Arab nations. The only ones who find it acceptable are terrorist groups worldwide, Obama and Carter. If Iran does get nuclear weapons, like Carter, Obama would have changed the global paradigm forever due to his cowardice and disregard for the foreseen consequences. Islamists will begin to engage in international extortion. By the time Obama's done there will be petitions to not allow his body to be buried on US soil when that time comes. I would sign such a petition for Dhimmi Carter; let him be buried in the slums of Gaza.

..................
When you look at Obama's admin it's a caricature of leftwingers. Here's clown who's in the Dennis Kucinich camp of crazy........

"[Obama's regulatory czar] has made no secret of his devotion to the cause of establishing legal “rights” for livestock, wildlife, and pets. “[T]here should be extensive regulation of the use of animals in entertainment, scientific experiments, and agriculture,” Sunstein wrote in a 2002 working paper while at the University of Chicago Law school."

Another Amateur-in-Chief
Carter was a fool, but he had a work ethos and some experience. He'd run a business, worn a uniform, and managed a state before he presumed to seek the presidency. Obama, in contrast, had won a few elections (mostly by slick packaging and dirty tricks) and written two books about himself. He's spent most of his time in office campaigning. He has all of Carter's loopy ideas, but none of his background or habits of industry.

In brief, we're screwed.

Vive La France
I disagree with the analogy between Carter and Obama. I think Obama is more delusional than Jimmy and therefore a greater danger to our country. He has the potential of doing vastly more damage to the country than Carter ever did.
Facts and history, especially political history, don't matter to Obama. He's hellbent on turning a once rich and powerful country into a sad imitation of France.

People like Carter and Obama are
dangerous when put in positions of power. They are naive, they insist on seeing good in people where there is no good and are therefore easily led astray. But with Obama it's a little more diabolical in my view.

As Paleocon noted, Obama has no experience in anything except promoting himself. Coming from Chicago politics, it doesn't surprise me that his picks weren't properly vetted, they're all dishonest so what's a few tax dollars when he can try to sneak his buddies into office to advance his agenda? And he HAS an agenda to move this country into socialism as quickly as possible using this crises as the vehicle.

Why push this lousy "stimulas bill" so hard, it stinks, it will not stimulate the economy, it will put programs in place that will never be overturned and will result in a one party system with him at the head.

His past associations will then re-surface, he didn't just come out of nowhere, this guy is bought and paid for by people like Ayres,Soros and those who would willfully destroy this country.

Obama has shown poor judgement
The slobbering media told us over and over how smart he was, what a savvy politician and brilliant campaigner; I just don't see it....

He will fail for the same reasons all liberals fail - stupid decisions based on "feelings," NOT common sense.

Dhimmicrats are either incapable of learning about the laws of unintended consequences, or else they just don't care. My take is that those who rise to the pinnacle of power really do not care - they're only interested in their own personal aggrandizement or enrichment and screw everyone who gets in their way.

Obama will make Clinton look like the two-bit, hill billy scam artist he was and take this country to new lows in the economy, social engineering and national security.

Pray for our leaders and our country.

2012 Presidential election
Unfortunately, Mr. BHO’s recent election is a historical event in that he is the nation's first “Affirmative Action” Presidential candidate hand selected by the MSM and elected by the “Entitlement wing” of the Party of the “Majority of Income Tax Consumers” (i.e., the Democratic Party) consisting of the usual suspects: so-called “legal” immigrants (80% of whom are unskilled, functionally illiterate 3rd world escapees), hyphenated-Americans & of course “why marry a man when you can marry the government” single women & mothers. Said entitlement wing needless to say is an inordinate consumer of welfare, public housing, Medicaid, CHIPs, earned-income tax credits, affirmative action, etc. Hence, they elected a president that has promised more of the same at the expense of those individuals who supported the “Majority of Income Tax Payers” Party (i.e., the Republican Party)- the majority of whom happen to be those infamous white Judeo-Christians you are currently disparaging.

The 2012 Presidential election will be more of the same w/ BHO pandering to the same group of usual suspects.

Hope and Change

As I have posted before this is what you are going to get from “Hope” and “Change”.

The basic problem with the pseudo platform under which this pseudo campaign was run is simple.
Way too many voters can substitute whatever they what to hear from a candidate or whatever they think they want to hear from a candidate for “Hope” and “Change”. Any two words will basically work. Now when reality hits the road, none of these voters are going to get what they hoped “Hope” and “Change” were going to be.

Welcome back Jimmy. This is not going to be fun.

It amazes me
What passes for acceptable political dialogue these days.

Seawolf in #9:

>this guy is bought and paid for by people like Ayres,Soros and those who would willfully destroy this country.<

How is it possible to have rational discussion when that's your starting point? For 8 years, accusations of BDS were offered as a primary reason for failure at the executive level.

I don't see any difference between liberal BDS and the current conservative ODS. Distortion, obfuscation and hyperbole will not solve any problem and will not resonate with many voters.

Saying that the President is bought and paid for by people who would willfully destroy this country is no different than saying Bush planned 9/11. It's fringe mentality.

Pancho:
>>Distortion, obfuscation and hyperbole will not solve any problem and will not resonate with many voters.

Seemed to have worked in the last election.

Right now people are comparing Obama to
Carter. By the time he is though with "changing" America, he will be compared to Robert Mugabe. We really are so screwed.

OBAMA-CARTER AND WAR
Jimmy Carter believed that an inordinate fear of communism is what drove America into Vietnam. Obama believes that an inordinate fear of terrorism is what made us invade Iraq, and that global warming is a greater threat to our security than global jihad. Obama is a black Jimmy Carter the man who emboldened the Soviets to invade Afghanistan (leading to the rise of Al Qaida) and Khomeine to make hostages of Americans in Tehran, the first act of Islamic jihad against our country. We were warned by John McCain that Obama would be a second Jimmy Carter and three weeks in office is proving him right as we can gather from his Al Arabiya interview that he‘s a soft-on-terror leader unable to properly defend this land.

Obama
Obama is going to make Clinton look ethical and Carter look competant.

Obama is wondeful.
Just ask him.
If you have doubt, ask Michelle.
Jiminy Carter is also wonderful.
Just ask Hamas chiefs.

JIMMY CARTER ?????
JIMMY CALLS BARY EVERY DAY,SAYS WHEN YOU GET TIRED OF JO JO IM HERE!JIMMY WANTS TO BE WITH BARRY!

Well let's see
Carter's solution to energy crisis: Wear a sweater
Obama's: Inflate your tires

Carter's Iran plan: backstab ally and let country fall to terrorist nuts
Obama's: Enable terrorist nuts to get nuclear weapons while you say nice things

Carter's defense plans: Get rid of nuclear weapons so the Russians will like us and they say they'll get rid of theirs too
Obama's: Get rid of nuclear weapons for no discernible reason, stop missile defense, and he's sure the Russians who are currently building more will get on board.

Carter's middle east policy: Israel bad, Jews bad, Arab terrorists misunderstood
Obama's middle east strategy: apologize for America, tell bad jews in Israel they have to give up whatever land Obama says, have meaningful dialogue with Arab terrorists

I'm thinking they were twins separated at birth

LuLu
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Oh and don't forget, Jimmy gave away the canal with no forethought and BO opened up the gates of Gitmo with the same mentality.

Pancho
BDS was a total credibilty lapse by dims and libs. Bush was no good and could do no good when in fact they were wrong and just depended on the propaganda machines to make it true. When there were problems with Bush that we knew well enough we had to fight these same deranged nuts instead of debate.

There are more than enough rational challenges to the current administration. If you care to read or review the campaign rhetoric with the actions in just a short time you will see we've been exonerated beyond our wildest dreams. His vision for this country is wrong. It is 180 from what he made people believe. He was 180 from his speech on Nov 4 to the inauguration. He's planned an upheaval, he's already started and he will get it.

Carter was a good man ...
Unfortunately he was a lousy politician. He tried to make decisions that he thought would help the country (even if I disagreed with many of them) but did it in a lousy way.

For instance, he was to meet with Russian authorities to work out a disarmerment treaty. Less than a week before the meeting he went on TV to announce that he would abandon several items such as the cruise missile and space defenses, both of which the Russians feared. Then he couldn't understand why they weren't interested in the treaty as he proposed it. If he had left those items on the table and offered to give them up in exchange for the items he wanted on the threaty they would have fallen all over themselves signing. He treated Congress the same way and never got what he wanted. He simply could not function as a politician.

And apparently Obama can't either.

JG
I think you are right - unfortunately.

His vision for this country is wrong.
That may well be true, however nothing you wrote supports that Obama plans to willfully destroy this country. That, in itself, is just as much a propoganda machine as any of the rhetoric directed at Bush.

If you're really concerned with rational challenges, try staying on message and drop the irrational rhetoric.

Lulu
Both Carter and Obama started off by trying to fulfill their promises to their voters - and both are finding that they made big mistakes.

Disrespect of our founders' sacrifices
Folks, I'm not a Chicken Little, a pessimist nor a conspiracy theorist. But I cannot help but be fearful for the very survival of the greatest representative democratic republic that has ever been known to man. I'm honestly really that afraid.

I am not a kook nor prone to wild emotional proclamations, but I honestly believe that Barack Hussein Obama (is that the alias he's using this week? I thought he called himself "Barry Soetoro") is the single biggest threat this nation has faced since we fought the British for our independence, even greater than the threat posed by Imperial Japan, the forces of Hitler's Nazi Germany and even the Imperial Soviet Union.

...for Obama will be able to do what our other enemies could not, he will do it from the inside and he'll do it without firing a shot: kick the last standing foundational supports from under this spiritually-bankrupt nation and bring it down from the inside. He's done a great job talking down the economy and scaring the hell out of investors for the past two years. And this my friends, is only the start.

The more romantic and patriotic side of me would like to believe that the American public, true to our heritage as rabble-rousers and true to the advise of great men like Jefferson, would rise up and defend our ideals against this internal threat to the Constitution. But alas, our nation is primed for an easy defeat, for we're too busy effing with our iPhones and gazing mindlessly at American Idol to realize this free nation of the people is quickly being taken from them, to be replaced by breadlines, soup kitchens and Soviet-style gulags for those who dare question the vaunted wisdom of Barry.

"... history will record with the greatest astonishment, that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening."
-Ronald Reagan, 1964

Carter
I believe that the difference between Carter and the King is that Carter honestly thought he was doing the right thing. He was not very bright and was never really equipped to be president. On the other hand the King knows exactly what he is doing. He ran a campaign on Change and Hope and all the people and the MSM who fawned over him never asked what we would hope for and exactly what he would change. No one made him accountable for the fact that he had associations with what can only be described as "bad people". Everybody took his excuses like I never heard Wright preach hate, I didn't know that Ayers was a bad guy. The king and his wife have gotten the best of what this country has to offer. Schools like Columbia, Princeton and Harvard. Law degrees that gave them unlimited earning potential. Book deals that made them very rich and living in a upper class neighborhood and private schools for their children. The Queen has the nerve to say "that she has never been proud of her country". How in the world did anyone think that he cared about the American people. How did these people that fawned over him think that if his past association were bad that anything would change if he was President. I think Carter honestly just did not know what he was doing. The King knows exactly what he is doing. He wants us to be socialists that is clear. As bad as Carter was we were able to recover. I am afraid that 4 years from now we will be in such trouble that I am not sure how we will recover.

Obama appears to have
the potential of being much more destructive to our country than that idiot Jimmy. Jimmy was stumbling stupid. Obama is inexperienced, ignorant, who has a firm idea in that psycho mind of what he wants to change in America and judging from his first two weeks he'll have it all in place before spring. Socialism here we come, rushing headlong at warp speed. Notice how much of a hurry the guy is always in? He wants to slip the complete package of ruin past us before we realize what it is. He's an angry, vindictive individual, with an axe to grind and all the power in the world to implement his plan. He's making Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers very proud. What a fine student he was.

Worried Suit
One fragment of Mr. Obama's CNN interview on Tuesday interested me. In it he said When people look back at my Presidency in five or nine years I want..."

After two weeks on the job he already sounds worried.

Obama
he certainly is bringing change to America, but for the worse. I now have no hope for this man in office. Thank god the republicans have woken up and voted against this pork filled bill. Even some democrats did not vote for this. People were complaining of the war on Iraq and it's costs, well this administration looks to up the ante and double that.

Pancho
Obama might not intend to destroy the country, but embezzlers don't intend to destroy their employers and drug dealers don't intend to kill their customers.

The results of their actions is simply not relevant to them.

Carter 2nd term + Clinton 3rd term=

Soli Deo Gloria!!

America did NOT elect 0bama's ideas!
During the entire campaign, 0bama simply refused to talk specifics about anything. He talked of "hope" and "change". The closest he got to anything specific was his 95 percent tax cut for all Americans, no matter how little sense that made. What is on the table now, upwards of 1.3 trillion dollar boondoggle, was not in any way a part of the campaign. So for 0bama to say the Americans elected him to do this is disingenuous at best, flat-out dishonest at worst.

Furthermore, there was no diff between 0bama and McCain on the 700 billion disaster in October, so there was no choice for Americans to make there.

Furthermore still, in 0bama's op-ed in the Post today, he says this bill is necessary for short AND long-term recovery! Any stimulus package should target RIGHT NOW! Any long-term stuff needs to be carefully debated and deliberated. No need to rush through this kind of thing. I'm viewing cognitive dissonance here from POTUS.

Medved had an author on yesterday.
He related an interview with Baroness Thatcher in which she told him that Carter invited her and the German PM and the Pres. of France to a weekend conference.

They all attended. He told them in no uncertain terms (in 1977) that the U.S. was going to topple the Shah of Iran. She said it was because he didn't want Iran run by a Republican loving monarch no matter HOW important that country was in terms of our security (intelligence gathering) or need for oil.

They were told that this was a done deal and that they should all sign onto it. The French Pres. later referred to Carter as a "b@st@rd of conscience".

Soon after he was in exile the Shah warned anyone who would listen that there would be an Iraqi invasion of Iran, a super Theocratic Islamic government in Iran, a rise of ultra violent Islamist fanatics funded in part by Iran and a series of wars in the Middle East that would involve the U.S. and other powers.

Reza died before much of this happened but he KNEW what he was talking about!! The Shahina (queen) also made similar predictions but was ignored.

Recovery?
If the so called recovery subsequent to this pork filled bill isnt expected to arrive -if ever- for several years...Bama dude - why the rush and fear thing going on? We got your mind dude -Americans arent as stupid as politicians think....are we sheeple?

I said it before the election
and I say it now:

Obama is an abysmal DISASTER for this nation!

Guess what America, it's gonna get MUCH worse. And this guy's been in the White House not even three WEEKS??!!?!!

Call your senators NOW and tell them "HELL NO" to this abominable "stimulus" bill!

The difference?
The reson that people expect this stimulus package to work quickly is because when Bush came to office, he dealt with the Clinton recession quickly by giving us tax cuts. It's possible to fix the situation (mostly by leaving it alone) but not by this attempt to impose socialism on us.

I'll wait
till Obama starts using the terms, "malaise" and "misery index"

Another tax cheat
tied to Obama nomination. I'm starting to think the reason Dem Pols always want to raise taxes is none of them pay them.

carter finished 10th out of 820 in his class at the naval academy. by comparison john mccain was 894th out of 899. now you can say he wasn't a very good president but i'd have to argue with you that he wasn't very bright.

Is Obama the Next Jimmy Carter
NO -- He's worse.

roy's numbers meaningless
(*) Pakistani dictator Yahya Khan finished as top caded at RIMCol (Dehra Dun) Class of 1937--and was useless as a military officer (as shown during WW2, and later)
(*) Bernard Law Montgomery almost got expelled from Sandhurst (Aldershot) in 1905--none doubts his calibre as leader post-WW2 (as he kicked Nazis decisively at El Alamein)

Rank in class isn't proportional to intellect, especially if the class's system is "honour-based" (those dishonourable, as Carter has shown himself to be post-term, can easily get around that).

Much much
The potential and current indicators are that Obama WILL be worse. He's a radical ideologue with an equally radical Democrat Congress.

Roy
Not a good argument, Buccaneer!

GPA in the Naval Academy is computed on several things other than grades, one being conduct.

McCain was a hell-raiser of the first water. He received so many demerits that he was once on the verge of having his stern heaved into the fleet as an enlisted man.

Yes, Carter was bright. He was a NUC, a group who are exceptionally bright. However, having served with NUC's, I can tell you that they almost need a check-list to go to the head to urinate.

Remember Carter personally scheduling the White House tennis court? That was a NUC -- micromanagers to the max. Not a bad thing when dealing with nuclear power as proven my the Navy's fine record.

svpallava
well i agree that class rank isn't the end all be all of intellect. but if you were hiring a kid out of college who would you hire? the valedictorian or the anchor man? my point was that you don't finish 10th at the naval academy by being stupid. how you apply your intellect is a different topic.

I hope this joke is
the next Jimmy Carter -- that means he will definitely be outta there in 2012!!!

Response to Paleocon

He has all of Carter's loopy ideas, but none of his background or habits of industry.

And ordinarily I could say nothing in defense of Jimmy Carter, but you're right. He wore the uniform, ran a business,(not so great when it came to runing a state.) I've found Carter's behavior since that time to be worse than what he did as President. He basically hot dogged his own negotiations with foreign governments during the Clinton Administration. As President or Ex-President, he never has too much nice to say about allies or countried that are potentially friendly to us. But if it's a communist or totalitarian Arab state, he can't gush admiration anymore profusely. The comparison of Obama to Carter still works on a practical level even though Obama seems more ethically challenged. If he tries to force his socialist economic programs down our throats any harder, his Presidency may implode earlier than that of Jimmy Carter. http://theclosetconservative.com

And don't even get me started on his national defense strategy (or lack thereof)

the lefties had it all wrong
they thought the ability to read a teleprompter translated into the ability to lead.

But for all his hope and change it seems the only thing the messiah has changed is his address and the hope he can continue to deceive america.

I will be truly thrilled...
and relieved...if when Obama is through trying to destroy this once-great country, he ends up doing only as much damage as Carter did.

seadog
all i was commenting on was one poster who said carter wasn't very bright. i realized that this person wasn't going to be pursuaded by his record as president so i came up with another stat lol. my whole point was that since carter finished 10th out of 820 that pretty much tells me he wasn't stupid. i never claimed he was einstein. and just because your weren't a very good president doesn't make you stupid either.i hear ya about the micromanagers too.everywhere i go i see them.

Maybe in preparation for his lectures at the University of Chicago on the U.S. Constitution, BO should have studied more on the legislative branch of government.

His "knowledge" is being upgraded by the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader, just like Jimmy Carter's was.

Where is self styled Chicago "tough guy" Rhambo? Obviously, Chicago Machine politics doesn't have the clout in D.C. like here at home.

Bill
Yeah, I don't often say much in defense of Carter, either, though I must give credit where it's due. And you're right: although he was a bad president, he's been an even worse ex-president -- pompous, meddlesome, utterly lacking in class, and evidently indifferent to the havoc he creates, e.g., the "agreed framework" with North Korea.

Whether Obama will be the next Carter is an interesting question. We can't discuss it intelligently, however, till we renew our appreciation of what a disaster the first Carter was.

Carter VS Obama
There is a big difference in the two. Jimmy Carter was an enept president . Way in over his head. Had an inept administration. He was stubborn and did not take advice well.

Barack Hussein Obama is evil. He does not have America's best interests at heart. He is following orders from others who are also,anti-Americans. The harm they will do will never be undone.

There is a difference in Carter and Obama. They are both dangerous, but to very different degrees.

To Pancho in 14
My friend, I am not interested in a dialogue, I am pointing out who his friends and backers are and none of them have our countries best interests at heart.

The guy comes out of nowhere as far as we are concerned, a product of Chicago politics, do you really think he's clean?

Could any of us suddenely decide we should be president without some deep pocket people with an agenda greasing the skids?

As Reagan said, "trust but verify" and so far I haven't seen very much in the verication department....as in who spends $800K on lawyers to hide his records?

All Hail King Barry....
the First, our benevolent and all knowing leader. How lucky we are as a people to be led by such a magnanamous person. What in the world are the House or Lords and House of Commons doing, not immediatley passing the Stimulus Bill? Are they out of there minds? King Barry along with Queen Michelle know what is best for the kingdom....

The Founding Fathers
Gridlock is not an unfortunate byproduct of partisanship, it was deliberately injected into the system with the separation of powers.

The Founding Fathers designed the Constitution so that an idiot could be elected president without destroying the country

cleverness of me
I think we have our idiot and he is trying very hard to prove the founders wrong!

I guess when the "stimulus" leads to negative "real" GDP in future years brought on by hyper-inflation from too much deficit spending, he'll go on 20/20 and say "I screwed up", and the MSM will give him a pass.

Tell your State Legislature to send a message to DC that the people have had enough of this, the 9th and 10th Amendments to the Constitution still apply, and the Constitution promises the states a Republican Government (The Federal Government is an agent for the states, not the other way around.)

"[W]ho spends $800K on lawyers to hide his records?"

Someone with a lot to hide.

Obama was probably born in Kenya, and it's near certain that he was a citizen of Indonesia. (He couldn't have attended school there without renouncing any other citizenship.) He's probably hiding his college records because he applied for admission or financial aid as a foreigner.

Years ago, neither the State Department nor the courts would've recognized Obama as a natural-born citizen. Standards are lower nowadays. SCOTUS probably would pronounce him the legitimate president. It won't, however, for it has ruled that no one has standing to challenge his eligibility for the office.

One thing that could upset Obama's applecart is proof that he renounced his citizenship on foreign soil before an American diplomat. Still his lawyers might prevail by arguing that he was a child at the time. And again, such proof, would never be seen in an American court.

For all practical purposes, Obama is eligible for the presidency. He is also eligible for impeachment because he's a fraud. He withheld or lied about vital information. Perhaps voters and electors alike would've chosen this unknown despite his dual citizenship. We shall never know, for he denied them the chance.

A bigger worry than Obama's foreign background is his foreign backing. He's not the first candidate to campaign on foreign soil; but he is the first to campaign openly for foreign support, and he's the most shameless about accepting illegal contributions. Even Clinton was discreet about pocketing money from his Chinese and Indonesian sugar daddies. We must wonder what Obama promised or his backers expect.

George Washington was naive to hope that America wouldn't turn partisan. He was prescient, however, when he warned that foreign interests would exploit partisan strife to their own advantage. Here is the realization of his fear.

Paleocon, I absolutely agree. Obama's comments, including his wife, are contemptuous of America and the majority of its citizens. The Soviets had infiltrators in the US govt but not even they could have dreamed of implanting a stooge into the White House. Obama's actions do not speak of a citizen concerned with the nations well being. He comes off more as a foreigner educated in liberal academia. When Clintonista passed his stimulus bill it was less than $20 billion. Obama's goal is to “remake” America into a socialist system, entrenching democrat control and ultimately creating the foundation for our downfall. Stimulus is the banner under which he'll irreparably damage this nation and its future generations.

A lawsuit was thrown out challenging Obama's eligibility. Now there is a lawsuit against congress for not enforcing congressional rules and basically rolling over for the fraud in the White House.

This will go down as the greatest scam ever perpetrated.

Great post!!

I believe the Clintons know some of Obama's secrets. How much, who knows? I believe they are selecting his cabinet for him. What's in it for them? Power.

obama
so hillary wouldn't have brought all this out before the election? man she wants to be president so bad she can taste it. i can't imagine the clintons sitting on this if they had any proof. can you?

The Photo
Anybody else notice the photo at the top of this story?

Has any other president stood in front of the
Seal so that it appears as a halo?

Maybe it's just me, but I think he, or should I say He, is arrogant.

roy
How many blacks do you think would have supported Hillary if they felt like she had taken the race away from him?

Good points
Great Satan: Some days, Clinton's outrages and extravagances look tame in comparison with Obama's. On really bad days, _Obama_ seems almost reasonable and restrained in comparison with Congress.

Have you ever watched _The Beverly Hillbillies_? When Mr. Drysdale the banker fainted, Miss Hathaway had to wave a roll of large bills under his nose to revive him. In the last days of the Boy George administration, Pelosi, Reid, et al., were at loose ends. They had regained power, but that was about all. They hadn't stopped the surge or prevented its success. Their approval ratings were in the toilet. They were dazed and directionless. Then Paulson or someone else recklessly said _trillion dollars_ aloud. Suddenly they sprang back to consciousness and started laying plans to spend our great-great-grandchildren's income on every ridiculous idea that popped into their heads.

Rowly: You're probably onto something. Obama has all but reconstituted the Clinton administration. Three explanations spring readily to mind:

1. The Clintons have a truckload of dirt on him.

2. Expecting a Republican House to impeach him sometime after 2010, he's assembled a phalanx of nominal allies who've survived an impeachment.

3. He's a really lousy negotiator whom Ahmedinejad will eat alive.

Roy
The Clintons leaked the Jeremiah Wright story for months. They did everything but hire skywriters to spell it out, but the mainstream press wouldn't touch the story until others, e.g., Fox News and Sean Hannity, had broken it. There's no telling what other goodies the Clintons failed to place or held in reserve.

rowly and paleocon
then why not have someone else leak it to fox? they keep their hands clean and don't have to worry about obama's black supporters deserting them.

Paleocon
I know I am a suspicious soul and hesitate putting my thoughts out for others to see, usually.

I firmly believe he is following a script. Written by someone else. Like an actor. A good actor.

If he was running this show, why is his administration being flummoxed like it has been. I say no president would make this many mistakes with his appointees.

I believe the Clintons have a vendetta against him and the country. She surely must hate the press for what they did to her.

How better to show the press and his voters how much better she would have been at the top?
I don't believe for one minute he wanted her as Sec. of State.

Yes
Carter was a disaster, but on balance he was a fool, with no comprehension of reality, yet a decent man, simply waaay out of his depth.
Obamus is also a fool divorced from reality, enamoured of idiotic far-left ideas, but a crook on top of that.
"Screwed"?!? you don't know the half of it.

obamma worse than idiot carter
obamma is ruining the country already. He wants to love terrorists and be against the USA. He is not my president, and nobody ever polled me on this moron. He is a muslim commie liberal freak, and we'll all see what he's doing soon. The USA will not survive 1 year let alone a 4 year term with this muslim lover in charge. Prepare for our demise, because it's coming fast.
Doom and gloom, you bet, because ignorant liberals wanted "change".

Carter
"Carter, in my opinion, was one of the nation's finest presidents when it came to the environment; in particular, he deserves kudos for throwing the weight of his administration behind the Alaska Lands bill. I think his now-tarnished reputation will improve with time and better understanding of the unpredictable and intractable events that plagued his ill-starred presidency. True, his patient course did not free hostages in Iran. Yet his control of the executive branch looks positively inspired -- and aboveboard -- when compared with the criminal chaos that resulted when President Reagan turned the 'cowboys' on his National Security staff loose in the Iran-contra affair."
