Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Say you shoplift. You get handcuffed and tossed into a nasty jail cell. It happens every day, just about everywhere.

Say you commit a really serious crime. It's likely your bond will be set at a price too steep to afford. You'll sit in jail until your case is heard.

But you're not the man who swindled billions of dollars from unsuspecting investors. Not the man who apparently violated the order that allowed him to live under "house arrest" in his luxury Manhattan home, even after he "gifted" over $1 million in jewels to close friends.

You're not Bernie Madoff, he of the special treatment. You're not the guy who has ruined families and triggered suicides.

Unbelievable. And Madoff isn't alone. Late last year, as America's financial system was near collapse, Congress put its political neck on the line and passed the Troubled Assets Relief Program. It was a $700-billion bailout supposedly designed to free up liquidity and help rescue financial institutions that were sinking under the weight of homeownership and other loans that had gone sour.

With at least a good portion of the first half of the TARP funds having already been distributed, the requirement that the funds be used to make good on bad loans has been dropped. The banks have done little if any lending to individuals, small businesses or anyone else. Beyond that, many in the financial sector took home nice fat bonuses, as if the year had been a rousing success.

But the con games don't end with the banks.

After receiving billions of our hard-earned tax dollars in a bailout of Chrysler, we came to learn this week that the privately held company seems to believe that it has no duty to make its finances available to public scrutiny.

Unbelievable! To me, Chrysler is now a public corporation using public funds to keep going.

It gets worse. When Chrysler CEO Bob Nardelli was begging for a bailout from Congress and the White House, I don't recall him ever suggesting that $4 billion would only keep the company afloat for a month or so.

But now comes an AP story this week, "Chrysler's fate running on empty: Car analysts expect it to die." The piece quoted Chrysler's chief financial officer saying the company needs " ... $7 billion every 45 days to pay parts suppliers." The article went on to note that "... analysts question whether the company's meager sales are generating enough cash to make those payments."

That's funny, because just days earlier, when Nardelli won his bailout prize from the White House he said, "This initial loan will allow the company to continue orderly restructuring while pursuing our vision to build (vehicles) ... people want to buy." Now that hardly seemed like a warning to the public that funded this "loan" that it was likely just throwing good money after bad toward a hopeless situation.

So we've been conned by the recognized con artists like Madoff; by the financial institutions who haven't done anything to help the rest of the nation with the bailout funds; and now by a carmaker that may have known darn well it couldn't survive, and yet took our money without letting us see what is being done with it.

Do these people not realize that we're talking about real money? Obviously not. Instead, they've collectively been coddled and treated as special breeds, instead of like the financial curs they are.

We've been scammed. Our national treasury has been looted. Our justice system has been exposed as a joke. And the trail of tears -- financial and personal losses -- just gets longer and wetter.

I supported the idea of the first bailout of financial institutions. Not because I trusted them, but because I knew another week's worth of panic would have left them with no stock value, and thus no capital. The result would have been a decimation of our economy.

But everything about the way we have dealt with these "untouchable" people and institutions -- letting Madoff carry on as usual, letting banks hoard the gifted cash and letting Chrysler fudge the facts -- makes me sick. I hope we can get every last one of these rotten scoundrels.

Madoff has no reason to worry.

All he needs to do is to stall, delay, stall and delay. This all could take years to work its way through the system.

He problably already has in place an escape where he leaves the country.

Then, just like Marc Rich did with Bill Clinton, he will donate to the Obama Library and get a full pardon.

Liberals support pardons for scam artists.

How can you blame Obama for anything?
He hasn't worked a single day, just massive amounts of promises to give everything away for free. I personnally despise Obama but the real origination of cause is Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, George Bush, the Senate in general, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi in particular, et al. They put us here after promising to be the saviours of our country during the last congressional election. Now they are giving the TARP handout to Barney and his crew; YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!!!

Duely Elected Crooks
Don't just blame G.W.Bush , blame congress as well . Remember at least 90% are lawers. The other ten percent know how to work thje system .
Welfare is welfare no mater how you call it . Whether it be car makers . banks , or a unmarrieed woman living off you and all other taxpayers . Just don't blame the kids.

Say you Commit...
a great many war crimes... if you're an Mericn POTUS like GWBush...you'll get off scott free!!!

Say you Comitt...
a great many war crimes... if you're an Mericn POTUS like GWBush...you'll get off scott free!!!

Don't forget our political leaders ....
Let's not forget our Congresspeople ... below market mortgage rates for Chris Dodd, undeclared income in the Dominican Republic by Charlie Rangel ... and don't forget poor boy Charlie using rent controlled (taxpayer subsidized) housing for his home and office.

And Diane Feinstein's husband's ownership) of companies which do business with the U.S. government, and Barney Frank's gay lover serving as a senior executive at Fannie Mae ...

You are right, it's appalling.

Reply to JD's Handsome Son...........

"Even Roman slaves had more sense than we do."

lol....you crack me up.....lol...

Shame on you, Matt!
Shame on you for supporting the Wall Street welfare bill! And you though that government handing out $700 billion would somehow fix the problem? Wait it didn't did it. I voted for Gingrey for voting NO for the bill, and didn't vote in the Georgia Senate election last year.
Here's what we need to do to help solve the problem of crooks in business. Have a 35-50 year sentence (35 mandatory) for each count of bank, wire, and securities fraud lets say for any losses over $100,000. Just like 25 year sentences for armed robbery in some states keeps future murderers off the streets, these stiff sentences will remove a future Madoff from society.

Obama's Cognitive Dissonance

Cognitive dissonance occurs when someone tries to hold two diametrically opposed views as reality.

Obama want us to buy American made cars to save the Autoworkers Union.

Obama doesn't want us to drive those cars so the planet can be saved.

Obama wants to spend money on bridges and highways that he doesn't want us to drive those cars on.

As long as only two parties
hold all the power in Washington, nothing will change. The two coorupt major parties have developed the perfect scam that we must always vote the lesser of two evils. After doing the same thing over and over, instead of getting a different result, we only get more evil.

You have to wonder how many more times we will fall for the big lie that only the elites have the necessary wisdom, knowledge, and experience to govern. Unless and until we reject the propaganda that comes from the DEM/GOP/MSM machines, we will continue to see our great nation descend further into third world status. It should be painfully clear to all that we can no longer trust these elites to manage the family business, aka, the United States.

If you care to see how the elites have perpetrated this scam on us and stolen our inheritance, you need to visit my website JOEOLIVAFORPRESIDENT.ORG. It is the only place you will find out we can restore Constitutional self government. Check it out. Thanks, Joe.

SAY WHAT?
You said you supported the first bailout. Sir THAT is theft, Congress has no Constitutional authority for any such thing, see Article 1, Section 8 for limitations, and has been stealing our money, draining our resources, and making themselves and their cronies and/or special interests groups fat for years. So you seem to be saying theft is okay, if it helps someone. Please read Jefferson on Article 1, Section 8;

http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/bank-tj.asp

Once you have done so, then write an article demanding an end to the criminality of so many politicians.
Also consider that creating canals was considered during Constitutional Convention and voted down, showing that using the distortion of General Welfare is false. Besides it's the power to tax, impost and such for general welfare, which is then listed after.

Crooks and Con Artists
White collar crime that causes such mayhem and hardship to so many MUST be punished seriously, on par with murder. For instance, many suicides of people who have been left destitute by these crooks could be said that the loss of life is directly linked to these money grubbing, money stealing bums.

WAY too much hysteria out there! I say no bailout. The whole mess was brought on by a sort of a financial Ponzi scheme that due to its complexity will take time to unravel fully, if there’s a will to do so. Throwing money at it is not the prudent or sane thing to do! Wall Street, once more, got way too greedy. A mini-vignette of this scheme is that imprudent mortgages were peddled to people who could not afford them and then hid hundreds of billions of high risk debt inside “exotic” financial instruments called “credit default swaps” and “collateralized debt obligations”. Another words these weasels played a complex shell game and they themselves lost track of the pea that was whipping back and forth between the walnut shells. Government was right in there making things worst with misguided legislation and lax regulation enforcement. My view is government has been the enabler of this crisis but the actual do-ers of the dirty deeds and the unbridled greed is the financial industry. Those are the very same lame criminals (enabling government types, like Paulson, Franks and Dodd, included) who are trying to "rescue" the economy from tanking with taxpayers’ money. Hello!?! What kinds of idiots do they think we are?

Ray of hope from Hollinger Case
I remember that the judge handling that one told Conrad Black that he could NOT await sentencing in Toronto, but had to do so in a NJ jail-cell--as his very request made him a flight risk (and, though the judge may not have known it, showed his extreme arrogance--his idea was of going to a country in which he had given up all intrinsic rights to be present)

Madoff is a crook?
He acted just like Congress. Social Security is the biggest ponzi scheme in the history of the world. Wasn't that part of FDR's wish list, Obama's hero? I don't see anyone in congress being punished for tax evasion, for forcing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to make bad loans (social engineering using my money), or for giving out restriction free money in the billions to anyone with a sad story (especially the most incompetent among us), or governors for trying to sell senate seats, or Senators and Representatives magically becoming millionaires on government salaries. We focus on Madoff only because he wasn't elected, nothing more.

After a swift trial,

Madoff's severed head should be placed on a spike outside of the New York Stock Exchange.

And I'm not joking.

No Re Con
Theses are not the "core" of the Republican party. The ranks of the "not-my-money" Democrats are richer than the so-called "greedy" Republicans. You are looking at the core of the "we-want-more-power", "we-know-better-than-you," "more-government-control" DemocRATs in all this. The DemocRATs have more culpability in the economic meltdown. They block all efforts put forth by Republicans since 2001 to try to prevent this disaster. The MSM are covering and lying for their Leftist cronies. Many conservatives saw this coming, but like the prophets of Israel, they were ignored by the powers-that-be. Now people like you have the audacity to blame the very people who tried to prevent this and ignoring the power grab of the RATS that caused this mess.

Idea - How we can get rich
Why don't a bunch of us get together and start a shell company and have it declared a financial institution? We can then apply for an unaccountable bailout.

Obama is a 'Skilled Con Man'

Barack Obama is NOT an 'Empty Suit' but a skilled and manipulative 'Con Man' and a Sociopath.

Add his conning abilities, to his Marxist thinking, his malignant narcissism and his blatant manipulation of the law (he is a lawyer) and the results will be disastrous.

Barack 'Sociopath' Obama will do to America what all of madmen and their armies have failed to do - destroy America.

America is on the 'Eve of Destruction'.

Sleeping with the Enemy
Perhaps Obama will act as the voice of the people and really go after these CEOs and plutocrats who think they are entitled to bonuses in a year when their enterprises are in the toilet. The American people need a spokesman who will single out these fat cats who have failed their companies and their industries and hold them up to the ridicule they so richly deserve. But P-E O, who was the beneficiary of millions from these fat cats, is not about to kill the goose who laid the golden eggs just for him. Instead, the One will follow that age-old corrupt model, "You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours." Too bad when so many of these "Captains of Industry" need a swift kick in the rear end and the admonition, "No soup for you!"

PEBO's AG PICK... helped free FLA ...
Don't forget his AG pick..ERIC HOLDER
My word he's even more scary...He convinced Clinton to pardon FLA TERRORISTS AND HE's creating....

A perfect storm is developing for Second Amendment opponents that could allow President-elect Barack Obama's choice for attorney general – Eric Holder – to "ban guns at will" despite the 2008 affirmation from the U.S. Supreme Court that U.S. citizens have a right to bear arms.

The situation was described with alarm by Alan Korwin, author of Gun Laws of America, in a recent commentary.

He cited Holder's known support for gun bans – the former Clinton administration official endorsed the District of Columbia's complete ban on functional guns in residents' homes before it was overturned by the Supreme Court.

And Korwin pointed to overwhelming Democratic majorities in Congress as well as Obama's known support for gun restrictions and his presence in the Oval Office.

But that could change in the 111th Congress, sworn in today. And Korwin said the plan would allow the U.S. Attorney General – possibly Holder – to add to the list of guns banned to the public any "semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General."

"Note that … Holder … wrote a brief in the (District of Columbia) Heller case supporting the position that you have no right to have a working firearm in your own home," Korwin said.

And More
We elect crooks to rule over us. That's how pathetic we are. We give phonies, no-talents, crooks, frauds, liars, perverts, cowards and Kennedys the power over our lives and make them rich in the process.

So much for the evolution of the great Western Civilization. Even Roman slaves had more sense than we do.

Coddle...I wish
We didn't coddle a crook/con-artist, we just elected it President. Hey Michelle, watch me pull a election out of a hat....Ooooh Barry you Magic N*gro you.

Don't hold your breath
There is one set of rules for us commoners and another set for Congress and the rest of the money crooks. If Congress would be a regular company that would be required to turn a profit to exist it would have gone under a long time ago. If a private business kept their books the way Congress does they would be in jail. Oops, I forgot, they would probably just be under house arrest from 7pm to 7 am.
