Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Those who say there's no media bias aren't saying anything right now. They're laying low.

First, my own minor mea culpa: A week ago, I wrote that Barack Obama had enjoyed little or no bump in the polls from the first nights of the Democratic National Convention. Then came a bump after all, thanks mainly to his high-flying acceptance speech and ringing endorsements from Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Now on to the latest epidemic of media bias.

Obama and David Axelrod, his chief strategist, together have probably triple the combined brain density of both their activist supporters and many among the pundit class. Know that Obama and Axelrod are privately furious over the endless attacks, snide comments and second-guessing about John McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential running mate, and now about her unwed daughter's pregnancy.

Obama's team is smart enough to know this open faucet flow of condemnation and vitriol has sprouted sympathy -- and additional name ID -- for Palin among a significant bloc of undecided voters. The furor also has whacked the sleeping hornet's nest know as the Republican Party voting base, which until now had been moodily snoozing inside the hive.

Many of them recall Dan Quayle, who was mercilessly and unfairly pilloried by the same kind of media barkers when he was George H.W. Bush's running mate in 1988. Quayle was verbally drawn and quartered over a "controversy" about his onetime National Guard service during the Vietnam War. (Bush and Quayle won anyway.) Years later, it was only made worse when Quayle leveraged off an episode of the TV sitcom hit "Murphy Brown" to make a point about the ease with which American culture accepts single motherhood. (How ironic is that now?) He was condemned for having insulted all single-parent families, which was not what he said.

But there's a difference in Qualye's and Palin's situations, and it's a big one: Bush's handlers took the baton of condescension from media and Democrats and used it to effectively spank their own VP candidate as if he were a naughty kid. But McCain has circled the GOP wagon that holds the women and children, aka Palin and her daughter. He refuses to put her on a lease, as Bush did Quayle when things hit the fan.

Ironically, Dan Quayle was the opposite of the man he was portrayed to be during Bush 41's term. He was -- and is -- bright, articulate, funny and totally at ease with just about anybody who thrusts out a hand at him for the shaking.

But as soon as Quayle got stereotyped as a handsome bungler, Bush controlled his No. 2 as if he were the organ grinder and Quayle his monkey. Quayle progressively sank to the level of these low expectations after that.

Is Sarah Palin the latest reincarnation of sliced bread? Let's reserve judgment. At minimum, she's spruced up the nights of the living dead known as the 2008 GOP convention. And yet a feeling hangs in the air that a second shoe may be about to stomp on Palin and McCain. Maybe she wasn't sufficiently "vetted" after all.

But hold on. Did Barack Obama's team properly vet Democratic VP nominee Joe Biden? It seems that as soon as the Obama campaign strummed on their harp of righteousness a tune about McCain being tainted by association with lobbyists, they soon themselves became vulnerable to a similar charge. But media has given bare lip service to the cozy relationship between Sen. Biden and his son's governmental affairs firm.

The firm has as one of its name partners a William Oldaker. He served as general counsel for Ted Kennedy's 1980 presidential bid. Oldaker reportedly received funds from Biden for services, even as Oldaker was lobbying Congress on behalf of other clients.

But hey, these are just sophisticated people, right? No need to investigate. Instead, many -- not all -- in media are hellbent on beating the living daylights out of Sarah Palin for her every transgression, no matter how small, instead of giving credit to a woman who scrapped her way to the top of a state practically overrun with the same "lunch pail" demographic that media lights claim to respect so much.

Do I think Sarah Palin was a great choice? I have no idea. I don't know enough about her yet. Who can tell if she will give McCain an edge?

But this much I know: Barack Obama and his team are a heap smarter than the half-wits spending their time trying to dig up dirt on a woman who hunts moose and raises kids who misstep on the way to adulthood. Obama knows that this is just asking for trouble for the Democrats with an American public that is just "unsophisticated" enough not to be gulled by the sophisticates.

Throw in that McCain is standing by his woman, and what you have is anything but Dan Quayle, Part Two.

Oh, the Irony!!
Isn't it fitting that a media that "crowned" Obama is also a major reason for "King Obama's" defeat?

Oh, the irony of swatting away a woman competitor (Hillary) and in turn being swatted away by yet another woman competitor (Sarah).

How BamBam voted

Will someone who knows how to do it, please go to the Senate records and seen how many bills, of all kinds, that Bush signed, that BamBam voted yes or no.

They say McCain voted 90% with Bush, but no one has said what BamBam has done.

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO MAKES SENSE
I WAS ABSOLUTELY, TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY IMPRESSED WITH GOV PALIN. I KNEW A LITLE ABOUT HER BEFORE HER SELECTION BY MC CAIN AND I WAS IMPRESSED THEN... I THOUGHT HER SPEECH WAS RIGHT ON...THIS WOMAN IS NOT AFRAID TO TAKE ON THE WASHINGTON INSIDERS, BIG BUSINESS LOBBIES AND THE PUTRID EXCUSE WE CALL THE NEW MEDIA IN THIS COUNTRY! THEY ARE GOING TO TRY TO BEAT HER BLOODY, HIGHLIGHT EVERY WRONG DOING BY HER, HER FAMILY, ETC. I THINK SHE IS TOUGH ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND ALL OF THE PRESSURE THAT WILL BE BROUGHT UPON HER . I FOUND IT INTERESTING THAT SHE ALMOST DISMISSED BIDEN (LYING LOOSER THAT HE IS) AND WENT RIGHT AFTER OBAMA. THE MORE THE MEDIA SLAMS HER THE MORE POPULAR SHE WILL BECOME WITH NOT ONLY REPUBLICANS BUT ALSO THE UNHAPPY HILLARY VOTERS! I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HILLARY'S PRIVATE THOUGHTS ON PALIN. GOV PALIN IS THE CHANGE WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR...YOU GO GIRL!

It's All They Have
We should not be kind in the condemnation of the DNC running-dog lackeys’ attacks on Sarah’s credibility: after all, It's All They Have. It just sux to be a Democrat right now: no real ideas, no fathomable spirituality, and no safety nets under the platform. Surviving the media warthogs is the least of Mrs. Palins’ worries, I think, because the cattiness of the femi-nazi is just getting warmed up. Next, from the worst of them in The View, we’ll hear that her shoes don’t match her skirt (by the way, did you notice that at the GOP acceptance speech last night that a pantsuit was not present?) or, perhaps the media darlings will endlessly discuss the temerity her second youngest daughter displayed to kiss and play with her baby brother when she should have been listening to the speeches: but then, after all, It’s All They Have.
McCain/Palin ‘08
See You at the Polls!

jim
"Hey Liberals, keep on throwing the slime"

Come on, Jim, cut them some slack. What else can you expect slime to throw?

IT'S OVER !!!!!!!
Politics set aside: Every down to earth woman in this country has to feel a sense of empowerment after last night speech by gov. Palin...It's refreshing to see an authentic, multi-tasking, and very succesful mom talking about who she is, what she stands for and how she has accomplished those things with class and dignity. How proud I am of not only being a woman, but of being part of this historic election! It's imperative that we go out on November 4 and vote for the McCain-Palin ticket. Nobama is soooo out of touch with the vast majority of hard working, middle class Americans...Palin shook liberals by her sheer and overpowering presence and convictions by not only delivering a great speech , but by mentioning all the reforms that she has brought to Alaska. She is fearless and a real maverick! I can't wait to see her debate against Biden...But, I have say that it's GAME OVER FOR THE DEMS!!!I certainly welcome this "reality check" with open arms!

Hey Liberals, keep on throwing the slime
The hatemongers who personally attack Sarah Palin and her family, have proven that they are psychotic. The more they attack, the more it helps McCain/Palin. I doubt that is what they want. I bet that most Americans identify with her and her family. So when you attack her, you attack us. We have known all along you hate us for our values, taste in clothes, furniture, vacations, hobbies, ect. ect. We have known all along that you think you are so much smarter and better than us. Here is a hot flash to all you wuzzie Democrats and Girlymen Media Types. Sarah is going to carve you up and wipe the floor with you. Real men and women are going to love it. You hate us? You lose.

Left Wing Bias has Been Officially Outed
For years, most people didn't really believe that left-wing media bias existed (either they didn't watch enough news or they just didn't want to believe it). In the last week, however, things have changed. I work with patients in a hospital (most of whom watch TV most of the day) and the reaction to Sarah Palin has been amazing. I seem to be getting into a lot conversations with patients and their families every day about Palin and the way the media has tried to tear her down. I've spoken to die-hard Democrats who are ashamed of the way that Gov. Palin and her family are being treated and I've spoken to many younger people who had no intention of McCain, but who are excited by someone as good as Gov. Palin. You wonder if the heads of these networks are finally picking up on the fact that most of us think they're a joke at this point?

Republican Hypocricy
I love the idea, always gleefully put forth by liberals, that any scandal of any form "shows the hypocrisy of Republicans (or conservatives, evangelicals, Christians, puppies, small pebbles, etc). I don't know any Republicans that are claiming that we are flawless, sinless, and never make mistakes.

The difference between conservatives and liberals is that conservatives hold out decent values as the goal, knowing that we will all fall short. Liberals just make snide comments about anybody with good values and then watch as their world falls apart.

I don't see how anything Dan Quayle said regarding the promotion of single motherhood is invalidated by Palin's daughter. 1st of all, nobody is saying that she made a choice that should be emulated. Second, she's not planning on forcing that child to grow up without a father.

Why is it so hard for liberals to understand that we can teach values to our children, warn them of the trouble that will surely come if they don't uphold those values, and then still love the hell out of them when they make mistakes? I see no back-tracking or hypocrisy in this.

AMEN to Dig Away Kevin
Perhaps the MSM can discuss what is going to be more relavant in choosing the right candidate for the presidency and get at the heart of character and ideology issues...the Republican VP candidate's husband having had a DUI 20 years ago, or the Democrat's PRESIDENTIAL candidate "snorting a little blow" problem at the same time, and a terrorist, racist, and corrupt Chicago politics association problem much more recently.

I won't hold my breath waiting for the MSM to have that discussion.

Don't Tread (sorry, but I'm treading).
"Republicans have had a dismal track record on picking veeps as heirs apparent;"

Are you implying that Democrats have done any better? Consider the following:

Hubert Humphrey - Defeated in '68.

Walter Mondale - Buried in '84.

Al Gore - Came mighty close, but no cigar.

The fact is, incumbent VPs have a long history of failure in presidential races. The last sitting VP to be elected president was George H.W. Bush in 1988. He was the first since Martin Van Buren in 1836.

Sarah Palin is young and may prove to be an exception to the rule. Only time will tell.

Dig away
I have no problem with the media investigating Gov. Palin's background. If she has known associates who blow up government buildings, we need to know that. If her church is racist, teaching Marxism under the guise of Christianinty, we need to know that. If her friends are Islamic anti-Semites, we need to know. If her children are lobbyists in the financial industry, we should know.

When the media gets through checking into the GOP's number 2 nominee, maybe they can find time to investigate the Dem's number 1 nominee?

I want to know more about his associations with Bill Ayers--you know, the man who walks on the US flag, was associated with the Weather Underground, bombed government buildings. Obviously there is much more to be discovered here, because the Obama camp is working overtime to keep anyone from digging deeper into it.

So, American Press, when you get through hounding 17-year-old kids and digging up decades old DUIs, maybe you can answer some of the questions that really matter?

A New Level way to much truth!
You're going to pop Lon's head with to much straight talk if you don't watch out!

The MSM gets to define who is dumb and who is smart. BO can blunder his way through his campaign with all types of mistakes but is given a pass by the MSM.

My local paper put BO's resignation for Rev oh so Wrong's church on page 10 and quoted BO as saying his past membership "had become a distraction." Just a minor thing in BO's life's journey when he finally sheds the man BO has called his mentor for many years.

Any white pol would have front page coverage for weeks if it was learned he/she had been a member of a whites only country club at any point in their life! The double standards of the left in this country knows no bounds!

The debate I would like to see
is Governor Palin and half-black oblama, the "Wizard of Uh's".

Since oblama seems to think he is running against the Governor on the experience issue, let them debate it.

First time in history that a President from one party was forced to run against the Vice President in the other.

Cheers,
Don C

Lon: Murphy Brown and Designer Babies
In response to Lon above I am not sure Dan Quayle's Murphy Brown speech necessarily had Sarah Palin's daughter in mind when he made it. She is a girl who made a genuine mistake in her life, a mistake easily made at that tender young age, even with the proper up bringing.

Back in the 80's and even now, the father's role was downplayed and a woman would have a child out of wedlock just to prove she didn't need a man. It wasn't enough to push Murphy Brown as a professional woman who could make it in life without a man's financial help, but she could also have a child, except for the obvious reason, without a man's help too. THIS WAS THE MESSAGE BEING SENT BY MURPHY BROWN and that was the message that Dan Quayle rightly pointed out was wrong. His intent was not to club a girl over the head that made a mistake in getting pregnant at too early an age. He was against sending a message that intentionally weakened the American family and attempted to recast it in a dysfunctional mold.

And I certainly don't think Sarah Palin has ever pointed to her daughter as a positive example of something young women should be doing, nor has the Republican Party. Sarah Palin has, however, stressed that her daughter will marry the father so you're suggestion of ironic hypocrisy doesn't exist. That being said, I don't believe that getting married after the mistake was made was ever used by feminists as a defense for getting pregnant in the first place. In fact, ardent feminists thought that if at any point during her pregnancy she couldn't raise a child without the help of a man, she could also exercise her "right" to go ahead and abort the child without the advice or consent of the man. This is the entire crux of the militant feminist movement and is why they pounced on VP Dan Quayle.

OOPs!
The only real problem w/ Quayle, IMO, other than a lack of charisma, was the spinelessness & treachery of the GOP leadership in letting their adversaries dictate their principles & loyalties in re the VP.

&, I'd LIKE to see Palin & McCain debate!

Doncha hate it when the Townhall site is for once working instead of locking up your browser or shutting it down, & somebody keeps popping into your office & interrupting you postwriting?

Republicans have had a dismal track record on picking veeps as heirs apparent; part of the problem we have now is due to the fact Cheney was GWB's veep. Not that Cheney's a bad veep per se, but he was ruled out from Day 1 as a successor. Therefore, we got "Macked."

Spiro Agnew: forced to resign.
Gerald Ford: actually a pretty decent POTUS but put in a weak position.
GHWB: We read his lips. He got our finger.
Dan Quayle: "Flushed out" by a lot of silly natter from people we had no business taking seriously anyway.
Dick Cheney: Not a successor, would not run for POTUS.

The Next Debate I'd to See Now
Sarah Palin v.
...
John McCain!

I'd sure like to hear how her pro-energy views square with his pathetic kowtow to the envirocommieluddites with his dogmatic totalitarian "Cap & Trade" rationing proposal.

That being said, Mac is finally doing a little of what he should've done all along: blowing off the pop media & editorial boards, & being a TRUE 'maverick' that bucks against the leftist establishment instead of the conservatives.

Not to mention Fred Thompson. If he'd shown that kind of enthusiasm for his OWN campaign, HE might be the nominee, & more of us might be more enthused!

Yeah, it's a shame about Dan Quayle. He seemed to have real possibilities as a more Reaganlike successor to GHWB. The only real problem with him, other than a lack of charisma, To anyone who says "President Quayle!" is horrifying, I say "yeah, you go. Try President Gore! President Clinton! President Obama!"

WAIT - BACK UP JUST A MOMENT HERE!
Why is it that Democratic VP has better credentials than the Democratic Presidential Candidate! If the Pit Bull Biden had the following friendships/associations, do you think he would have passed through the vetting process?

Please Consider this:

Pastor-mentor was - Rev Wright - who has - does preach - anti-American views!

A 20 yr membership with a church deeply involved with the black liberation movement where allegiance is to Africa - first!

Friend/neighbor/ fellow Woods Board member/known Weatherman - is terrorist Bill Ayres - who admitted bombing the US Pentagon - who also said he would have done more - if he could!

Another friend - Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam!

What do they all have in common? All have a known opposition to the government of the United States of America.

So why is it that the Democratic leadership/Party elected the - Flim Flam Obamaman as their Presidential candidate who has these associations? Why were the vetting standards more stringent for the VP - yet the same standards were not required of the Presidential candidate?

AMERICA - IT IS NOT THAT THE - FLIM FLAM OBAMAMAN - IS YOUNG AND INEXPERIENCED - IT IS NOT THAT HE IS HALF-BLACK - IT IS HIS TENDENCY TO ALIGN HIMSELF WITH INDIVIDUALS WHO CONSIDER THE US GOVERNMENT AS THEIR ENEMY.

OLD ADAGE: Birds of the feather flock together!

Wake up America! America cannot afford to have such a man elected to the highest office in our land - the Democrats should be ashamed of selecting him as their candidate and based on his history of choosing friends that are enemies of the United States - he is unqualified for the office of the presidency!

Definition of "flim flam": deception, fraud, double-dealing.

Wow! ...
We absolutely electrified by Gov. Palin's speech last night. For the first time, ever, we are considering a contribution to the GOP, and a yard sign.

I heard that Gov. Palin's Tele-Prompter (sp?) went on the fritz last night, so she had to go on her own. She knew her subject and she is also a natural born speaker, so who would have known? As another poster said earlier, the soccer mom/pit bull joke was not in the speech. That was on her own and it worked.

Her name, "Sarah," actually means "Princess." As far as our family is concerned, her name is totally correct. Perhaps, one day, she will be "Queen."

At Least He Admits He’s Blind
“Do I think Sarah Palin was a great choice? I have no idea. I don't know enough about her yet. Who can tell if she will give McCain an edge?”

Governor Palin is the reason Senator McCain is going to win this election

Mr. Towery, you lack vision!

Obama's Underhandedness
Who wouldn't believe that Obama paid the man eating media to go full force against Palin? From my sources I learned that Oprah was one of those who supported this act. Obama has a list of anti American relationships and I am shocked that our governmental officials would present such a man to the American public. I am totally insulted. There is a reason Biden was chosen by the Dems as a running mate, and maybe we all need to think deeply about that choice. How in the world would a man who studied Trotsky be allowed to speak to the tax paying citizens? How in the world would a man who spent 6 years studying Islam beliefs be allowed to walk on our soil? As an American, I call for his dismissal.

Box of Rocks
The media seems to have an endless supply of stones to cast at Sarah Palin. It seems however that not one in their arsenal will be cast in Obama's direction.

I surpress foul language here but if the media is so "blasted" interested in any transgression in Gov. Palin's past, why do the admitted transgressions of Barack Obama merit no interest at all. OK, so its a no brainer question that answers itself.

As for Mr. Towery's position that Obama is somehow hands-off in this vigilante media mob mentality, I suspect they are in for more than a penny.

Not a difficult choice-life or death?
Democrates began losing the country in the early 80s..They have recognized that the vote of the non hypocrite Christians dethroned them..
So they have invented their own brand of Christianity complete with a false messiah..John McCain and Sarah Palin are genuine..These live the truth. They dont just speak it....There is one simple factor to determine who is the real Christian and who is false.. It is abortion..Those who make it legal and perform it and practice it are the Barabbas generation...Those who oppose it and who give life even when it is inconvenient are of the Jesus generation..The world has a chance to redeem itself...2000 ago the world shouted "give us Barabbas, crucify Jesus"..This election is repeating this choice...Barabbas or Jesus... choose life...

Enough with the V word
I’m sick to death of hearing about “vetting”! McCain has known for more than six months that he was the nominee. Is anyone genuinely stupid enough to think that he just started thinking about a running mate in the last three weeks?

They’ve all been “vetted” within an inch of their lives. If you still believe that McCain’s people didn’t know everything there was to possibly know about Sarah Palin, you are a mental midget, with all due respect to little people everywhere.

McCain went ahead and fearlessly made his pick because Sarah has the sound judgment needed for the office, and he knows that that is what matters most. There is one line from her speech last night that says it all for me. Gov. Palin said, “But we are expected to govern with . . . a servant’s heart.”

A servant’s heart! More than anything, America needs public servants who can remember that they are there to serve us, not the other way around. That’s Sarah, right to the core of her being. It’s that kind of attitude that allowed her to rise above the noise, and it’s that approach to governing that I want in Washington.

Lon
Not to be disagreeable because you wrote in fairly measured tones, but where is the investigative reporting on the Democrat VP candidate. Insider deaing with his son. Plagiarist. Gaffe machine-"...really, you need to speak with a slight Indian accent...", "...first clean, articulate, black candidate..."

Do you really think the MSM would be that uninterested if Biden was a Republican with this checkered past? No. In fact, they fall right in line and allow and assist Biden to continue the false narrative that he is really a simple middle-class, blue collar guy from PA. continue

Go Sarah
My wife and I and many of our friends and extended family have been absolutely electrified by Sarah Palin. She definitely hit the ball out of the park with her speech at the RNC last night. The left wing has spent the last week doing everything but nuclear bombing the convention site to stop this woman. They have failed. She and McCain may win or they may lose but she has redefined politics in this country. Things will never be the same again. Palin for President 2012.

reasonable column
After a silly opening line, (wow is the media actually investigating the facts about the surprise pick to be the nominee for VP of the United States, how biased of them) this turned into one of the more reasonable columns I have seen on this topic. Not that that is a particularly high standard.

The Republicans are counting on building a backlash against the "mean" treatment of Palin. And they will tell the evangelicals it is because she is evangelical, and the women that it is because she is a women, and middle americans that it is because she is from middle america. And anyone stupid enough to think that the media should not fully investigate a vice presidential candidate may believe it.

But there are interesting points raised. There are two interesting Quayle tie-ins. One is the choice by a boring old candidate to pick a young vibrant candidate to add excitement to the ticket. It is true that Bush then hid Quayle when it was clear he was a bomb as a choice. But then he was running on Reagan's popularity, while McCain is running from Bush's popularity, so he needs to hit a home run with Palin, while Bush Sr could afford to give up an out with Quayle.

The other is that after his time in office Quayle could point to his Murphy Brown speech as his big acheivement. Now, because of Palin's daughter, the Republicans are stuck taking that back. Remember, feminists during the Murphy Brown incident pointed out that Brown chose to carry the baby to term rather than have an abortion, and conservatives responded that it didn't matter, pregnant single women shouldn't be put in positions where they could be taken as a positive example. Now Republicans are taking their defense of Palin from the feminists defense of Murphy Brown.

What a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN!!!
Over the wall, across the street and still rolling.....

But this campaign is barely out of the 1st inning. Sarah Barracuda will have to duplicate the heroics of Lou Gherig, Gil Hodges, Willy Mays, Mike Schmidt, or Shawn Green and hit 4 home runs in a single game, one of the rarest and difficult feats in baseball.

I don't know yet if she hits with power or just for average, but she's a mighty promising prospect. Like I told my wife (another strong, intelligent woman) last Friday, this gal is a natural. Using baseball analogy because I'm not a hockey fan.

Next time she steps up the the plate, she could lose a little of her delicious sarcasm and bulk out a vision for strengthening our economy and getting the local, state and Washington bureaucrats out of our lives and out of our way.

YOU GO GIRL!!! Obama bin Biden and their minions are grinding their teeth down to little nubs. LOL

N.B.
Just to close out the Dan Quayle-Murphy Brown dust-up: Candice Bergen recently (since 2000, I think) noted that Mr. Quayle was "probably right" in his argument about unwed mothers.

Ah, the wisdom of age!

Shells & Moonbat
Shells, hope your enjoying this yo-yo weather this week. My son had both the hottest and coldest football practice of the year on successive days this week. I agree with you on O'Reilly. He drives the left crazy. I just wish he'd be as tough as a MSM member always is on a Conservative. There is so much there with Obama that the MSM has yet to seriously ask of him. Contrast that to the mean-spirited sniping and questioning of Palin.

Moonbat, we don't even keep score at soccer games here in IL. Someone might have their delicate sensibilities hurt. When will the liberal hand-wringers learn that this country is built on and thrives on competition?

Palin's speech not "home-run"...
She built a spanking brand new whole stadium !

Sdeakins
I'll have to disagree with you there, with all due respect, in fact, it's going to kill Obama by interviewing with O'Reilly.

O'Reilly will give Obama a respectful and informative interview and act completely professional...as he did with Hillary.

Do you remember what happened with Hillary during the primaries when she agreed to an interview with O'Reilly? The militant leftist Daily Kos and Huffington cronies threatened Hillary.

O'Reilly, to most leftists, is poison, evil, a very very mean man! If you agree to speak with him, you are scumb. This is their mentality.

It actually hurt Hillary interviewing with Bill. I saw it, it was a good interview, he wasn't agreeing with her, but at least she had the nuts to come to FOX and talk to who the liberals fear as an anti-Christ, if they believe in Christ...

I feel many Obama supporters and liberals who will only vote for a "D" regardless who they are, will be absolutely enraged and insulted that Obama dared cross over and give his time to FOX, the most hated liberal station.

finally, an interesting contest
I see that muckraking is not working for the democrats. In fact, it seems to be backfiring.

Maybe we will see a contest based on ideas? Perhaps we will be able to decide a president based on the content of his character?

Games kids play
When I heard Gov Palin refer to herself as a hockey mom I knew that she would resonate Middle America like no other current national politician of either party. Contrast a soccer mom to a hockey mom based on the games. Soccer may be good exercise, but those who play it are rarely allowed(by moms) to develop any competitive instinct. Hockey, on the other hand is a hard hitting, take no prisoners game in which you strive to win. Hockey prepares kids for life much better than soccer, mostly because the parents of hockey playing kids don't shield their offspring from competition. Those of us in flyover country understand the lessons of the game and think "She's one of us."

Obama Connected To The ACLU?
Matt, do You know of any Obama direct connection with that organization? Member?

Sarah Palin is us
Mrs. Palin is the epitome of everybodys Mama in my neighbourhood when I was growing up. If I had screwed up and got pregnant (it was the Sixties after all) I would have inspired my parents to the same response in public as her daughter has; and there would certainly have been a shotgun wedding. They were not uncommon in the 1950s when everybody pretty much got married the day they graduated from high school.

Every time the press sneers at Mrs. Palin, they are dissing our mothers.

O'Reilly stinks!
Here is the text of an email I sent Bill O'Reilly upon his being duped by the Obama campaign.
The credibility of O'Reilly has been shattered by his desire to interview Obama. It's not that
he is interviewing Obama; it's the fact O'Reilly has been a willing pawn in doing the interview
at the timing just prior to McCain's acceptance speech at the RNC. This shows O'Reilly's lack
of judgement and his selfish "me too" subservience to the Obama mantra.

Mr O'Reilly,
You have just been spun and hung out to dry by the Obama campaign. By agreeing to their interview with
the Obama on the same night McCain accepts the privilege of being the Presidential candidate for
the Republican party shows your lack of integrity. I hope you can explain to the adults and kids who
watch you and read your books how you sold them out. By being manipulated by the Obama you show
that you are no better than the drive by MSM reporters you scold nightly. With the timing of this interview,
which I will not watch, you have lost me as viewer and a fan.
Boycott O'Reilly!

Sarah Palin Speech & Transcript

Give That Man A Big Bonus
If I were J. McCain I'd kiss the feet of and give a huge bonus to whomever it was that pushed, The Next V.P.

When Wolf Blitzer and about 5-6 other CNN commentators are saying she gave a great speech and we have just seen a future star of the G O P, the game has changed.

A couple of weeks ago one commentator said that B.O.'s continual [unending] gaffes were making this election McCain's to lose, not Obama's to lose. What about now that middle America [which I believe Anderson Cooper pointed out will win this election] has seen & heard Sarah.

Unless B.O. finally shows us that he really can walk across Lake Michigan I'm going to bet that within 30 days McCain-Palin aren't even going to have to look back to see if B.O. can catch them.

I have already tonight, talked with several folks, including a former Biden supporter who were stunned by Palin's speech. Stunned as in electrified, and one of those folks, a history prof had actually thought B.O. gave a good speech. Not anymore.

Keep talking B.O. because obviously you can't blind us with your brilliance.

It is really just unfair all those folks who are now pointing out that B.O. really does stink. Unprincipled truth-tellers are really disgusting.

Hmmmm here is a thought---Palin vs Clinton in 2012. Now that may be interesting.

It's all over, pard.
After that speech, it's game over. Palin/McCain....1 homerun; B/O.....skunked.

Thanks for saying the obvious...
...which will not be said by the propagandists of the left in the media.
