Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

I walk into the kitchen just in time to hear my 11-year-old daughter summarize for her father the destiny of anyone cast as a celebrity apprentice for Donald Trump: "It's the sign that you're just another clump of dried seaweed washed up on the beach of pop culture."

There's no time for a lecture on cynicism before school, and besides, she has a point.

The cast of NBC's upcoming "The Celebrity Apprentice" series has somehow managed to offer gainful - if short-term - employment to country singer Clint Black, former NBA star (and tattoo canvas) Dennis Rodman and the perennially Botoxed Joan Rivers.

Times are tough. People need work, and as gigs go, even a short-lived career with "The Donald" can be lucrative. Remember Omarosa? And besides, these celebrities work for charity.

But I digress.

The point is not that former Olympic skater Scott Hamilton and former World Series of Poker champion Annie Duke will next month be fodder for water cooler (and recess) chats because of their stints on Mr. Trump's show.

The point is that my middle schooler may be moving past preteen cynicism and headed straight for "jaded."

Amy is an idealist, but even for one generally optimistic about people's "better angels," it's been a tough week. Consider these stories from her most recent events video:

• Michael Phelps is caught on camera using marijuana. Continued...

As For Disney...
I'm second to no one in my disapproval of Michael Eisner's reign at Disney. Not only did he do what Wrat Wrangler says, but he also established Touchstone Productions- a now-defunct Disney subsidiary- so that R-rated productions could spewed out for profit. Thus, he undermined the family based foundation that had guided Disney Corp. since Day One.

Eisner may be gone, but his legacy remains. It's carried on, if in nothing else, by the personal stories of the kids and former kids who've rose to fame there.

1. Lindsey Lohan (The Parent Trap)- drunk, out of control, criminal family, exploited little sister.

2. Britney Spears (New Mickey Mouse Club)- same as above... and worse.

3. Jamie Lynn "Zoe" Spears- Pregnant at 16 while starring in a very popular TV show for tweens.

4. Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical)- Idolized by kids of all ages, she went to lewdness to foster an adult film career.

5. Elizabeth Berkeley- same

6. Dakota "Kim Possible" Fanning- Brought child porn into the mainstream with her "Hounddog" movie at age 12.

7. The Spouse Twins- Appeared in a cheap, brutal film that featured the homosexual molestation of a young boy... almost as bad as "Hounddog" and a year prior to it.

The list goes on. And, incredibly, Disney is still the most "family friendly" major operation going in Hollywood!

To off-quote Cicero: "Hollywood delenda est!"

Disney = self-serving dirtbag!!
First it was "Bambi" which was LOOSELY based on a German story written to illustrate the evils of totalitarianism and turned into a homage to animal "rights".

Then Disney Studios were taken over by the foul disgusting swine Eisner who created "Gay Day" and who will NOT tell parents WHEN it is so they can plan THEIR family trips around it. Eisner is the PIG who got Bob Grant fired.
