Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Ah! The sisterhood! I’ve experienced it. In academia the sisterhood reigns. They have a grip, and exclude every woman who does not share their animus. They are all too happy to disperse their money and support to “sisters” who join them in shrilly denouncing the patriarchy. But woe to the pro-life, pro-patriarchy, pro-West woman. Hell hath no fury--

Now Sarah Palin is experiencing it.

The reaction from feminist women within hours of the announcement of McCain’s selection of her as his running mate reveals the true nature of this “sisterhood.” The Huffington Post featured photos of Palin playing basketball in high school in order to diminish her accomplishments. Acclaimed novelist Jane Smiley’s comments were perhaps the nastiest in terms of cattiness and innuendo, with a simple series of questions beginning an entry: “Who’s that? Is this a joke? Who’s that again? She has a four month old baby and she’s hitting the campaign trail? Is she breastfeeding?” Smiley continued: “If she is breastfeeding at 3 a.m. and the phone rings will she answer it?”

Kimberly Brooks, part of the Huffington Sisterhood, commented too on Palin’s new motherhood and then weighed in with what to her are more substantial issues: “But what I really want to talk about is her hair. Can someone please get this woman to a SuperCuts? What is that thing on her head? I admit, I am completely jealous of her flawless Linda Carter Skin. And I fully expect her to take out that plastic hair clip, pull off her glasses, rip off her blazer to reveal either Wonder Woman or Demi Moore in Disclosure. But the hair has GOT TO GO.”

(I know from experience that these “feminists” go for the hair, having had my own unruly locks the target of online insults).

And then Sarah Seltzer wrote, under the title, “A Feminist Appalled by Palin,” that when she saw the announcement while on the elliptical trainer her “rage propelled me to the most furious workout I’ve had in a while.” It’s mostly Palin’s pro-life position that enrages these women, and Seltzer sees this pick as just another instance of the “right wing” using “prominent women to keep the rest of us down.” Seltzer provides a link to an online magazine called, appropriately, “Bitch.”

Back in May, these same women reacted in a similar mean-female-dog manner to Phyllis Schlafly’s honorary doctorate from her alma mater, Washington University. Leading the pack were professors, like Mary Ann Dzuback, director of women’s and gender studies, and associate professor of education and history, who was quoted as saying, “The university has completely disregarded the concerns about anybody who cares about full and equal rights for women, who cares about the intellectual quality of feminist debate, and who cares about women’s desire to enter the work force.” Schlafly earned a law degree from that university and has had a very distinguished career in writing, speaking, and public policy.

The fact that she did it while raising six children enraged the harpies even more.

They are livid because Schlafly was able to do this before the “movement”—THEIR movement. She gives the lie to the notion that the 1950s was a time of oppression by the patriarchy. In my own field, academia, one would think that no women taught or wrote during that time, but a surprising number of women turn up as authors of scholarly works.

Yet, feminists cling to their conspiracy theories. Katha Pollitt, in a Nation Magazine column on Schlafly’s honorary degree, wailed: “sometimes I think we’re truly going backward, as Republican hegemony, conservative Christianity and anti-feminist media propaganda take their cumulative toll.” Those like Pollitt resort to misrepresenting Schlafly: “After four years of hard work, female seniors get to watch their school honor someone who thinks they should park their diplomas in the kitchen sink.” Pollitt’s most recent book-length work was a tell-all collection of essays, published originally in The New Yorker, about a liberated, live-in, abusive boyfriend who cheated on her with her friends.

Commentators charged Schlafly with hypocrisy for denying women career opportunities and keeping them subjugated by husbands.

The reality is that these feminists don’t care about women. They cannot recognize that it is Western (patriarchal) civilization that accords women the greatest rights in the world. It supports women and their children. It nurtures women like Sarah Palin. I’ve seen it personally with friends earning Ph.D.’s, who were supported by conservative blue-collar husbands. And I’ve heard too many liberal women complain about the poor treatment they get from liberal boyfriends.

The feminists are livid that Palin did it outside the movement, that—unlike Hillary Clinton--she began not out of her own ambition, but as a result of her concern for her own children, as a PTA mom.

I kept my eyes glued on the television all evening Friday.

On Saturday, I went to our local book festival in Decatur, Georgia. True to form, this festival, run by the federally supported Georgia Center for the Book, was heavily liberal in terms of books and authors. The official bookseller at author signings was Outwrite Books, our local gay bookstore and coffee shop.

I made my way past Revolution Books, the massage booth, and plethora of opuses on “spirituality” to a talk by a token conservative, Kathleen Parker on her latest book, Save the Males. The question-and-answer session turned to Palin’s nomination, and one angry woman in the audience commented that Palin knew that her baby had Down’s Syndrome and yet had him anyways. She said that it was irresponsible of her to accept the nomination when she had a special needs baby.

Well, we know what Hillary or any one of her pro-choice sisters would have done. We can imagine her crying out, “Come you spirits / That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, / And fill me from the crown to the toe topful / Of direst cruelty! Make thick my blood, / Stop up th’ access and passage to remorse, / That no compunctious visitings of nature / Shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between / Th’ effect and it! Come to my woman breasts, / And take my milk for gall. . .”

These women have blood on their hands, and they are very angry and bitter.

Hypocrisy
Listening to Feminist attack Palin for not staying home with her children is priceless. Their desperation over Palin’s non-feminist credentials is humorous.

A Happy Lady
Sarah Palin doesn't do victim very well. This is going to be a problem for her with the radical fem fringe. She's everything they're not, an independent, self-reliant woman who goes out, selects her own targets and hits what she's aiming for. And she seems comfortable in her own skin and happy with her life. The greatest sin of all.

Hypocritical Women
I totally agree with you, Mary. I am tired of the extremist women getting all the "playing time." I myself am a woman and I feel very comfortable being a woman, and I know that I am the "master of my own fate." I don't need some government to legislate my freedom for me. And I am sick of these far-left liberals actually preaching that women need help from the government. I don't think they realize that this defeats their whole "I am woman" philosophy as it makes women look like victims that need someone else's help in order to succeed.

Feminazi-ism Is A Mental Disorder
It's ironic that the liberal "progressives" (read: heathens) that make up the Democrat party and the Obamanation they seek to make of our society, has caused them to be so far left that "normal" has become alien to them.

What is even more ironic is their failure to realize that most Americans, when faced with a clear choice, will be more inclined to satisfy their desires for "hope and change" in an appeal made to a celebration of traditional values, as represented by a return to "normalcy," and as represented by people like the refreshingly normal Governor Sarah Palin (and yes, Senator John McCain), than they will to the class, race & gender warfare being served up on the Democrat political platform.

Glorying in their confidence over what they thought would be a sure victory over those of us "clinging to their guns and religion," what the Democrats didn't count on, was that any choice for "change" would be offered outside of Obamanation.

"Pride goeth before destruction and an haughty spirit before the fall!"--Proverbs 16:8

No joke!
I think most of us are more than a little sick of radical liberal women claiming they speak for all of us. Much like many black conservative Americans are beginning to speak out in larger numbers, I think Sarah Palin is the role model/leader many of us have been waiting for whether we knew it or not!

Just wait
till they see Sarah Barracuda shred Attack Dog Biden at the VP debates!!

Lepanto
You mean Palin's "non-radical feminist movement" credentials.

She is not only a lifelong member of the NRA; she is also a member of "Feminists for Life" and as noted has been a working mother for years.

Notice she doesn't whine (a la Michelle Obama) about the inherent difficulties of being a working mother. Neither does she yearn for a government solution to said difficulties.

She lives her life to the fullest professionally and personally, apparently never entertaining thoughts of her victimization as a woman!!

Oh, The Beauty Of This Choice
There is so much beauty in the McCain campaign's choice of Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as their choice for vice president.

The initial appeal that Barack Obama had, in the eyes of the decent Americans in places like Iowa and Idaho, was representative of their disillusionment with career politicians and their seeming condescension towards middle Americans.
The Democrats, in an attempt to play on their sense of disenfranchisment, thought they could package Obama as a fresh face, uncorrupted by insider politics; a champion of the "little man."

But the exposure of his ties to the racist Trinity United Church of Satan & Jeremiah Wright, opened the floodgates, washing away the sugar-coating the MSM and Democrat party had immersed this Great Pretender in.

Now he (and his party) has been reduced to telling the American people, ala the Wizard of Oz, "don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain."

With McCain's selection of Governor Sarah Palin (and in the comparison), the Great Pretender will finally be exposed for the phony and false "hope" he really is.

Pollit's Friends
Mary Grabar TH columnist writes, "Katha Pollitt, in a Nation Magazine column on [Phyllis] Schlafly’s honorary [Doctorate] degree [Washington University], wailed: “sometimes I think we’re truly going backward, as Republican hegemony, conservative Christianity and anti-feminist media propaganda take their cumulative toll.” Those like Pollitt resort to misrepresenting Schlafly: “After four years of hard work, female seniors get to watch their school honor someone who thinks they should park their diplomas in the kitchen sink.” Pollitt’s most recent book-length work was a tell-all collection of essays, published originally in The New Yorker, about a liberated, live-in, abusive boyfriend who cheated on her with her friends."

Please note the paragraph above. Liberal boyfriends and female friends are liberated.

Katha Pollit is one of thousands of feminist women who are jealous of the accomplishments of other women, especially if they are married and gave birth to babies.

Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska is getting the scorn now and will be until she returns to Alaska as Governor, but if the McCain/Palin ticket wins the White House, she can tell them to STFU and get on with their pitiful lives.

Please note the paragraph below of a happy, successful and well satisfied 'lady', who feels comfortable in her own skin.

"Sarah Palin for her entire political career has been underestimated," said Paulette Simpson of the Alaska Federation of Republican Women. "She's tough, she's tenacious. I believe that she does have what it takes to get out there. Again, her ability to connect with voters and make a case is very, very, very strong."

Sarah and Todd...everyones neighbor
Sarah and Todd...everyones neighbor
The libs need to think about who they are attacking here. The Palin's are just like us. Normal people with kids, bills, church, jobs.

Sarah however took her PTA gig to the VP of America!!! Awesome!!!!! Talk about a made for Hollywood story.

I hated McCain being our guy. But only McCain would have made this pick. Sarah Palin is the future. Conservatism is alive!

Palin / Jindal 2012

what is wrong with them?
I've heard some ridiculous rhetoric from ultra liberal feminists the past few days and it sickens me. As a young woman, I find Sarah Palin to be one of the best examples of feminism that we currently have. As was said by others, I have always felt that feminism is about a woman's freedom to choose...whatever that choice may be.
And to address the issue of her not staying at home with her special needs child...do husbands serve no purpose? Personally, I've always felt that one of the most important male roles is being a good FATHER and i'm sure that is what Sarah's husband is.

Palin is not that far to the Right
I have been following Sarah Palin for months now. I only dreamed that she could actually be chosen for VP. I don't normally group myself with other women. Of course, I don't usually think of myself as belonging to any demographic group. Most women in politics are nasty, self-serving people. Sarah Palin is the first woman in the political arena that I can relate to. She really cares about making things better, more than her own power and personal agenda. Of the critisms I have seen, there is the complaint that she supports the overturning of Roe vs. Wade. It is important to highlight that she is not for telling people what to do with their own bodies. She, however, belongs to a group called Feminists for Life. This group's goal is to eliminate the difficulties, such as support and acceptance, that drive women to have abortions. Sarah Palin, who at first look seems to appeal to the far right, is actually much more in the middle than some may think. Which I really believe is where most of us are. We just want to help ensure freedom and the opportunity for a good life for everyone. P.S. And from what I hear, her husband, who no longer works, is quite capable of taking care of the kids, including Trig, as well as any housewife and mother could.

Harpies on "Bridge To Nowhere"
The liberal harpies are out trying to paint Gov. Sarah Palin as a liar on the subject of the so-called "bridge to nowhere." In her statement last Friday, Gov. Palin stated that she killed the bridge project.

ABC News wrote this story on September 21 of last year. It appears to support Palin's claim.

"Friday, the state of Alaska officially sank the Bridge to Nowhere. Governor Sarah Palin, also a Republican, said "Ketchikan desires a better way to reach the airport." "But," she said, the bridge "is not the answer." Palin has told state transportation officials to look for the most "fiscally responsible" alternative."

On September 29, 2007, Patrick Ruffini wrote this at Townhall.com:

"That's why Sarah Palin's crusade for clean, efficient government doesn't stop in Alaska. This week, it was Palin who singlehandedly killed the leading symbol of Republican spending excess in Washington: the Bridge to Nowhere.

The Bridge to Nowhere was actually a state project, to be built with funds earmarked by the state's powerful Congressman Don Young. Last week, Palin killed the $398 million bridge to Gravina Island (pop. 50), directing that the money be spent on more "fiscally responsible" projects."

This raises a big question: What pork-barrel projects earmarked for Illinois has Obama killed?

Who cares what the wacko leftists think?
They weren't going to vote for a Republican anyway.

Lefty women wouldn't have
voted for McCain whoever he would have chosen. BUT the MAJORITY of women in America AREN'T left-leaning -- we're the "silent majority" of the female vote.

As a Conservative female, I was going to hold my nose and vote for McCain, but I REFUSED to contribute OR volunteer. That changed with his choice of Sarah Palin. I sent my first contribution this morning, and am going to volunteer some time as well. What a game changer this choice is for MOST of us Conservatives, and even, I suspect, for independent females.

Mom in Wisconsin

Palin Critics are Pathetic!
The criticism of Palin is snide and reveals a lot about the dishonesty and manipulative nature of many Democratic politicians and the liberal press. They refuse to respect her as a Governor who has made significant accomplishments. All of this is truly pathetic - but it really just underscores their desperation.

All of these critics are truly a shame, but what is most disgusting is the criticsm about her as a Mom. What is most impressive about Gov Palin is that she has a close and supportive family that works together. Her husband is taking on the role as "Mr. Mom" and is a proud husband and Dad. Her daughters love their new brother. Trig is a joy, not a burden to the family. The liberals can't possibly understand that a child with Downs Syndrome is a joy to this family and is loved and cared for. His presence does not keep his Mom from doing her job - he underscores the fact that the Palins have a loving family that works. That's a GREAT example for everyone!

Sarah's Theme?
Momlady,

I suggest than when Sarah Barracuda ascends the stage we play the theme from "Jaws"!

Here I am a conservative of the Christian Faith, gun owner, married, have a wife and children, drive a 4x4 3/4 ton pick-up truck, Military Vet,not on welfare, despose "multicultural" bs, anti-illegal immigration, islamophobic, sodomy hating "bigot" and I love Sarah as the choice for McCain.

Yet I am supposed to be such a sexist that I could never back a woman for Vice President and its the "feminists" who are the ones attacking this REFRESHING LADY.

God made a hell for a good reason, its a good destination for these lying screwballs who attack this outstanding real American Lady

Libs' "pro choice" rhetoric
... is a farce, as is their profession to love "diversity."

What they really want is for everyone to think like them. Period.

Here's hoping-
-the more we hear from Gov. Palin the initial breakout of apoplexy will spread like a wildfire mass contagion amoungst all the loony left.I've been enjoying every sec. of it since the announcement.
I need an overdose to be satisfied, nothing less will due.

Hussies for Obama are Saying
Liberals are Screaming about Sarah Palin

Liberals are saying Comrades, er uh I mean fellow Democrats, "Palin has zero experience as a Community Organizer". How could she possibly be ready to be President?

Sarah Palin has NO plagiarism experience as well.

Sarah Palin will NOT appease Iran and Syria, not to mention Ayers, Wright, Farrakhan and The Nation of Islam.

How many articles has she written for Harvard Law Review?

We have not heard her say "um", "uh" or "er" once, how could she possibly communicate with Obama followers?

Sarah Palin has NEVER even fulfilled any kind of quota.

Our Obama-Messiah has created a whole new class of Americans, 'Bitterclingers' who might see this 'SarahCudda' as relating to them. Quoting our 'Obama' "this is NOT unacceptable".

This woman doesn't represent 'The American Woman', she didn't even allow her young to die in a dirty hospital utility room alone.

Sarah Palin was pictured with a gun and a soldier. Need we say more about her lack of Patriotisim?

Horrors of Horrors her husband is probably a 'vicious' Promise Keeper.

Sarah Palin is a mockery to 'womyn' everywhere! She's like some sort of different species of human!

These are SOME of the things 'Hussies' for Obama are saying. WOW

Obama Value System

Babies Crying in Terror

The 'Born Alive' baby who has known the closest contact with another human any human can experience - the baby has been inside another human for months.

The baby has kicked, stretched and some even suck their thumbs. Every need has been met by its human host - shelter, nourishment and safety.

Suddenly one day the baby is attacked with chemicals and poisons.

The baby enters a world bent on death and destruction towards its life.

The baby has never seen a butterfly, puppy, pretty colors or things all babies enjoy or had any human say I love you.

The baby enters the world in excruciating pain and the best trained Medical experts in the world refuse the baby any aid - in a hospital - where all facilities are available and the Doctors have sworn to protect all human life - except his.

The baby is thrown on a cold table and left to die in some hidden place.

The baby struggles to breathe because a human is born with the human will to survive. The baby cries in terror and sobs for help - that never comes - no one cares.

The innocent baby tries to live with every breath and dies alone, abandoned like a used kleenex, never having experienced anything but pain, rejection and hatred.

When the baby finally dies a death of torture and the ultimate rejection any human can receive, it is such a worthless human it doesn't even have a 'Death Certificate' issued that it ever existed.

For a few minutes, hours or days, that baby WAS an American Citizen, that should have received all of the 'Rights and Protections' under law, that any other American Citizen should have.

Michelle and Barack Obama and most Democrats, have done everything humanly possible, to make sure this baby does NOT even receive any pain medication.

They are the same as race baitors
Of course the femi-nazis have come out to castigate Sarah Palin. It is the same thing as the professional race baiting blacks castigating conservative blacks. If you stray from the socialist party then you are the evil enemy regardless of any other factor.

The femi-nazis lost the meager amount of creds they had when they excused Bill Klinton for his harassing ways while attacking others for the same thing.

The femi-nazis are out to make a living off of the “feminist” thing using the special interest politics. After all, there are only so many “women’s studies” Marxist departments in colleges out there.

Experience
It seems the Democrats have a much higher standard for women than men when it comes to experience.

Missing the Point
You're not grasping what the selection of Palin does. Obama's lack of experience compared to McCain was supposed to be a major talking point of the McCain campaign. Now, every time someone brings it up, the answer will be "But look at Palin."

Sure, you'll argue about how her state is really close to Russia and about how she once stopped in Ireland to gain foreign policy experience, but THE ORIGINAL POINT IS LOST. Instead of making a strong point comparing Obama to McCain, you're forced to argue the comparison of Obama to Palin. The argument dissipates into trivialities.

For jamie
"As a young woman, I find Sarah Palin to be one of the best examples of feminism that we currently have."

Sarah Palin is EXACTLY what feminists argued a woman should be when they were trying to justify their movement in its beginnings by demanding quota-type processes (Title IX is a good example). She has been 'liberated' by the new thinking on gender roles and became a public officeholder out of "choice" (allegedly the favorite word of feminists) and MERIT.

The attacks on her by today's feminists expose them as the partisan hypocrites they are. In short, you are not allowed to be a successful career woman unless you support abortion and the Democrat Party blindly. Real individual choice does not enter into their equation.

And Yet
They stood behind Hillary and her appeasment of womanizer or worse, Bill Clinton.

What is feminism?
Grabar: “The feminists are livid that Palin did it outside the movement, that—unlike Hillary Clinton…”

And unlike Clinton, Palin didn’t ride her husband’s coattails to political success. That’s what REALLY irritates the feminists.

Here’s the dirty little secret: Feminism is really just liberalism disguised as a woman’s movement. Its true goal is to protect women from having to take responsibility for their own decisions. Feminists want to be able to choose lousy men – and then blame the men (just watch one episode of Jerry Springer). Feminists want to have sex but not face any shame when they kill the babies that result. And feminists want all women to sign on to their notion of ‘feminism’ because then their selfishness won’t be as obvious by comparison.

The Epitome of Hypocrisy
We can't talk about Obama's race, his childhood, his shady associates, his angry wife, his principles, character, judgment, policy positions or even of Obama himself but the long knives are already out for Sarah Palin.

The immediate attack on Ms. Palin's experience for the VP slot is especially egregious. Barack Obama's is less qualified to be president than Sarah Palin and yet her experience is the subject of their ridicule?

Sadly, Sarah Palin will have to endure a gauntlet of smears, character assassination, lies, conspiracy as well attacks on her record and actions. All this while any mention of same of "The One," are characterized as "Swiftboating." This shameless hypocrisy is enough to make one's blood boil.

For reasons that are not clear, those of us on the right have a tendency to turn the other cheek in the face of character assassination by Democrats. Perhaps we have passed the time for being cheeky and arrived at the "tooth for a tooth" part.

It is up to all of us to immediately put the truth to any lie, rumor or slander of Governor Palin, since our elected officials don't seem to have the brass for the job.

Ms. Grabar
So, are the "feminists" upset because Gov. Palin is a gun-toting, moose-hunting, hockey-playing, kid-raising, plane-flying female?

Or because she is all that, and is STILL successful in politics?

I suppose one must be a victim, in order to be a feminist, right?

Palin,is way more experienced than Barak
She is the Governor of her state. No matter for how long she is running a government and was put there, that is, elected to serve in that capacity. She deals with RUSSIA. And Oil Companies. And if you believe the liberal scum they(oil co.'s)are the evil empire.

But alas she is not running against Barack Nobama, Barack needs to worry about John McCain and his infinite experience compared with an activist from Chicago that has never accomplished one piece of legislation. McCain has been a maverick and has taken issues that made both sides cringe. If you want to get right down to it he is by far and away the most bi-partisan candidate and the most fair and balanced. Barack will only lead the liberal fascist assault on America. McCain will be a chief executive that governs with fairness and with American values in mind. Let me say that again, with AMERICAN values in mind. Our kids don't need to and will not be forced to speak spanish or any other language. We will not bow down to muslim "needs" such as feet washers or prayer rooms that tax payer provide. Wash your own damn feet. Schools have always provided foreign language as classes. French and German were taught at my highschool. I took a experimental german class along with a few of my classmates in the sixth grade. But it was not forced upon us or our kids. Anyway, got off on a tangent, but the fact is Barack is running against JOHN McCAIN a man with far more experience than he has and a FAR FAR better running mate than Joe 'The Liar' Biden.

Wow!
Unless you're a Democrat who's gleefully contemplating McCain dying in the next four years, Palin has more than enough experience for vice-president. As others have pointed out, her experience is much closer to the common American's than the lives of Biden or Obama.

I'm not quite 40, and I can tell you that my generation doesn't aspire to victimhood NOR do we need to make scapegoats of dead white men. We believe in equal opportunity and equal pay, but we were raised to work hard and do our best. Period.

So it's refreshing to see a 40-something REAL feminist like Palin in politics, rather than an overgroomed socialist like Obama who chooses "a typical white person" (as defined by the Democratic Party) for his running mate.

It's not because of feminism
They dis-like her because she is not a liberal scum sucking socialist. She is a conservative that believes it is not right to kill a child. That is why they hate her. They could care less about feminism.

Great column!
Can't help noticing that the usual array of snots are not here taking potshots at Grabar. Not that that would matter: she's made of the same stuff as Palin.
Time for the so-called 'libs' to crawl back into their collective hole. History has debunked them, and the word is out. As shown in a couple posts above, even the younger generation 'gets it'!
Palin may turn out to be the best legacy McCain leaves to the American political scene.

Bob Munck would have us believe
he is concerned that McLame lost a talking point. This liberal troll has never argues in support of any Republican and has always taken the liberal's side on every post I have ever seen here at TH.

Vic 4:32 PM EST
"Bob Munck would have us believe he is concerned that McLame lost a talking point."

By no means. I'm delirously happy that McCain has made such a bone-headed error. When, as I am confident will happen, Palin withdraws her name to spend more time with her family, the campaign will be over.

Apathetic No More
As others have said, I have not been thrilled about having to vote for John McCain. I really liked him last time around, but for the last 8 years I felt like he was a bitter old man. I would have voted for him because the other choice is no choice at all. But, now that he had the guts to bring Sarah Palin forward, I am excited. I like everything I have seen about her. I hope that Sarah Palin turns out to be the person that I think she is. My daughter and I will be sporting our homemade "Sarah Palin for President in 2012" t-shirts while walking across the Mackinaw Bridge tomorrow.

Reality
'She deals with RUSSIA. '

Palin has not once had to deal with Russia. That's conservative fantasy.

It's funny--Grabar seems upset that feminists have actual principals--she wants them to simply vote for a woman, no matter what said woman believes.

Feminists are not so blind. They are more interested in good policy than candidates with vaginas. Grabar is advocating blind identity voting.

Also, Grabar is lying about the Q&A with Kathleen Parker. The questioner did NOT say what Grabar said she said. Other people were there too, Mary, so it's best NOT to lie about what transpired in a public place. The lady never intimated that Palin should have killed her baby. Grabar is throwing that lie in to obscure the very good point that women with tiny babies (disabled or not) should take care of their children instead of dumping their infants on strangers while they hit the road on a national campaign.

Women can have children and careers. But they cannot have highly demanding jobs and infants at the same time and do both well. Sorry. that's reality.

Tana
Does Palin's husband have breasts? If he does, than you're right. In the more likely case that he doesn't, he can't take care of a baby as well as Palin. Breastfeeding is so important for any baby, but especially one who already have the deck stacked against him. Palin's abandonment of her baby when he needs her so much is a little disgusting. I have a five month old, and I look at her and can't imagine dumping her while I run off to tour the country.

The feminazis
abort their babies, the healthy ones and the sick ones and have no problem with the fact that B. Hussein Obama voted against the Born Alive Infants Act in Illinois which would have helped babies who manage to survive abortions. Palin is a gutsy woman who could wrestle any of these harpies to the floor with one hand tied behind her back. They are jealous of her grit and her looks.

Femocrats,,.get used to her..

So typical of Libs to resent (jealousy?) a conservative, capable real woman who can engage in masculine activities while retaining her femininity; a woman who gave life to All her children, etc..

Sarah Palin is now the VP pick, and we need to support her all the way.
Mrs Palin is actually more experienced than B.O. where it counts (executive experience). She is honest, pro-life, has real American roots & patriotism, and does not have the baggage that Obama, the Front Man for Liberalism has..
Femocrats..get over yourselves..

Values & Accomplishments vs. Experience
Bob Munck wrote: "Obama's lack of experience compared to McCain was supposed to be a major talking point of the McCain campaign. Now, every time someone brings it up, the answer will be 'but look at Palin.'"

Agreed, Bob; but maybe this is blessing in disguise. It seems to me that the more relevant experience comparison is that between McCain and Obama -- the two at the top of the ticket -- and the argument here is pretty much a no-brainer. I hope the McCain campaign doesn't get stuck arguing experience but instead compares, contrasts, and argues the VALUES of each party and each candidate. It also strikes me that arguing about ACCOMPLISHMENTS would be a winner for McCain and, yes, I do include Palin's accomplishments here. Don't you just love it when someone trots out Obama's editorship of the "Harvard Law Review" (oooooh!) as one of his?

I HOPE THE FEMS, DEMS and MSMs continue
their unprincipled attack on Sarah Palin. Every unfair, irrational comment, already too many to count, rebound directly on the speakers and illustrate their hypocrisy. Sarah Palin has reinvigorated this race. This is the single best thing that McCain has ever done.

Two instances that sealed it for me that Feminist have no principles:

1. Feminist supported Bill Clinton during Lewinsky scandal. This was the textbook case of a powerful male taking advantage of a subordinate female for sexual favors.

2. Feminists continued to support Hillary while staying in the sham marriage for political expediency. If Hillary were a man, she would garner derision as a weak pathetic cuckold.

The idea of Feminist principles is an oxymoron. Principles require consistency and need to be universally applied. An example of principle was Sarah Palin taking on the Republican establishment in Alaska. A Republican taking on corruption in her own party shows strong principles.

Too funny!
It's fascinating, that when it comes to Gov. Palin, Obama supporters are such traditionalists all of a sudden. Mothers aren't allowed out of the home until the child's in short pants and the husband's only contribution is that of sperm donor.

Millions of women around this country have babies and go right back to work and many of them travel in their jobs. They use day care and nannies and family members to take care of the children. But not Gov. Palin, oh no. Get thee to a nursery, wicked Jezebel!

Totally out of sync with Obama's own supposed message of progress and change and empowerment.

Why should Democrat feminists
care who McCain picks for his running mate? After all, as others have stated, they won't vote for him no matter who he picks. The real reason they're so upset with his selection is that they know very well that this pick will vastly improve McCain's chances of winning. Many Republicans who were planning to just stay home on election day have now changed their minds. They are enthusiastic about Palin. Smart people will vote McCain/Palin because Palin, unlike McCain, is a true conservative. Stupid people will also vote for the Republican ticket, albiet for different reasons. Stupid men will vote for them because she's pretty. Stupid women will vote for them because she's female. The candidates don't really care about anybody's reason for voting for them, as long as they do. And stupid people's votes count just as much as anybody else's.

Keep your fingers crossed
Any vitriol aimed at Gov. Palin will only cause more people to vote for McCain for the presidency. Bitterness and hatefulness only drive people away. Remember how Michelle Obama had to be muzzled because of the hateful things that spewed forth from her mouth? I wonder how the Obama machine will shut all the far left feminists up (something tells me they don't like to be told what to do).

(he can't take care of a baby as well as Palin. Breastfeeding is so important for any baby, but especially one who already have the deck stacked against him. Palin's abandonment of her baby when he needs her so much is a little disgusting.) Did you not see the baby with her at the announcment on tv??? she did not abandon the baby. Men can take care of a baby just as good as a woman can.there are things called breast pumps, ya know you can even freeze it for a later date. wow modern times--try it. The deck stacked against him? why? many people with d.s. are very productive in the work force, you should go check it out in your area.
(I have a five month old, and I look at her and can't imagine dumping her while I run off to tour the country.) Heres hoping that no one ever discovers you and asks you to do anything important... Tell the truth either your a single mom, or your husband does not help you and never takes care of the kids, and that is what really pisses you off isn't it?

I know--
I know that my wife and I are voting for Sarah Palin. We do not like Juan MacShamnesty, but will vote for the ticket with her name on it. We just hope that she can pound some real hard core conservative sense into Juan.

Yes, My mother would have definitely voted for her. My mother was a hunter, hard worker, and ulta conservative also. Yes the harpies of her day (just a couple of years ago) resented her because she too was outspoken, raised a family, and also had a full time job, plus in her later years ran a successful farm. Sarah was her kind of success story.

Many Down Syndrome babies can't breast feed. They are born with a condition called hypotonia, which is low muscle tone: a general floppiness and they have very weak latching apparatus. Many Down Syndrome babies thrive much more quickly with a bottle as it easier to get more nutrition before they tire.

animal girl
This is Mary Grabar here. Love it when liberals like Animal Girl hide behind pseudonyms. And if you're in a public forum with me there, why don't you introduce yourself?

(I think a couple of the comments here about Animal Girl already addressed the hypocrisy of her and her fellow leftists' charges of Palin's unfitness as a mother. Thanks. You're much smarter than Animal Girl.)

animalgirl
You wrote: "It's funny--Grabar seems upset that feminists have actual principals--she wants them to simply vote for a woman, no matter what said woman believes."

After reading your comment, I went back and reread Dr. Grabar's article.

Your comment is completely inane.

By the way, how many principals have feminists had? I always thought my children's principals were fairly loyal to their wives.

I love it! If only the host network of the VP debate could be persuaded to play the theme from JAWS as she comes on! Awesome!

Bob Munck
You wrote: "When, as I am confident will happen, Palin withdraws her name to spend more time with her family, the campaign will be over."

I wish that I could place a wager, with you, on Palin withdrawing from the race. Since you are confident it will happen, surely you would place some money on the event.

Do you feel, with Palin in the race, that it is a real campaign?

pseudonyms
What does my use of a pseudonym have to do with you fabricating a question from a forum?

Did you really think no one else who was there would see your column? Even us stupid, liberal Decatur residents know how to find the Internets...

Got my vote
Sarah Palin is offensive to feminists because she has a trait many of them lack; she is feminine.

animalgirl : Get over your womaness
Since animalgirl directed her comment at me, I feel a need to reply even though you have already been well addressed. My husband has pretty good sized breasts, but I have never noticed them playing any part in the fact that he is a wonderful father. I really hate it when people diminish the role of fathers.

If only the rest of us working women had the ability to spend as much time with our children as Sarah Palin does, we would be lucky. When you're in charge, no one tells you that you can't bring your children along. Maybe I will run for public office so that I can spend more time with my daughter.

If Sarah Palin is up feeding the baby
at 3:00 am, then she will be awake to answer that red phone when it rings, won't she? She would be glad for someone to talk to!!!

I guess these feminazis don't really believe that women are allowed to "have it all," do they?

Enema Girl- a true Feminazi!

Where else would she be but ragging on a successful woman who doesn't agree with her?

Typical of the activist Left, who pretend to be pro-woman, but are actually only pro-Leftie-Losers.

Hey, let's not get too down on some
feminists. SOME of them are not so lefty in their thinking. I've been looking at a site of disafected Hillary supporters that are voting McCain/Palin, or just third party -- which takes a vote away from Obama, so it accomplishes the same thing. This site is filled with stories of Obama campaign intimidation, vote fraud in caucus states, and really scary leftist tactics. The site is Hillaryclintonforum.net Check it out. It opened my eyes. To those Hillary supporters dissalusioned by Obama and his minions I say, "Come on over to the McCain/Palin side - you are welcome".

AnimalGirl is a hater
Why would a feminist hate the perfect role model for our young women? Sarah Palin has risen to the position she is in on her OWN merits. She did not ride the coat-tails of a husband or a family member. She saw something that she felt needed to be fixed and she did it. She has the amazing good fortune to be married to her high school sweetheart who has, apparently, never tried to dissuade her from doing what she feels she needs to do. Whether you agree with all of her positions (I love my wife and don't always agree with her) or not, she HAS already accomplished more than the O.
BTW, I love it when the dims compare her experience to the O. When you have to argue that your Pres candidate is more experienced than the our VP candidate, doesn't say much for your Pres candidate, does it?

It is sad
You are right, WI mom! I consider myself to be a feminist. I believe that women and men are equal, but that does not mean we are the same. All jobs should be awarded based on merit and nothing else. If a woman can't compete, there should not be special allowances. Do you want an affirmative action fire fighter showing up at your house who isn't up to the job?

The problem with feminism is that the radicals have given it a bad name!

I am thrilled that McCain has chosen Palin--and even more thrilled that she has agreed to run! I think she is just what the country needs-a true outsider with good ideas and reforming ways! It is great to see just how afraid the left is of her. They will manage to give McCain/Palin a landslide victory if they continue spewing their hatred!

He-Man Woman Haters Club...

Democrat men generally bow in at the emotional maturity of the average 6 year old boy...

Women will know these little turds by their psychological disorder, the "Peter-Pan Syndrome".

Obama and Biden threw the "she's good-looking" line out today at a campaign stop, bantering back and forth like a couple of virgin 13 year old boys.

It's plain to see which Party, and specifically which gender of that Party, has serious issues with strong and intelligent women.

Hillary 'did' have the best chance of wiping the floor with McCain. But the little Democrat men wanted Mommy to stay home and bake them some cookies.

Now, what was to be the 'Campaign of the Century' will fizzle with a solid rout, putting McCain in the White House.

I hope you're happy Mr. Obama!

Damn Fool!

Sarah will Win
Of course the harpies are out to get Sarah. They are out to get every woman who is happy, attractive, accomplished, independent, and intelligent. The harpies are chronically malcontented, homely, and insecure. They prosper only by ripping and tearing at other women and by hating all men. They are a repugnant bunch. Sarah will defeat them, as all other competent women do.

All Downhill for His Husseiness/O'Biden
While 43% of respondents think Joe Biden will help Obama, 48% think he will either hurt him or make no difference.

52% of respondents think Sarah Palin will help McCain, while 39% think she will either hurt him or make no difference.

Overall, 52% said the selection of Palin as the GOP vp nominee helps the Republican ticket, compared to 29% who said it hurt. Another 10% said it made no difference, while 10% were unsure.

Among independent voters, 52% said it helps, while 26% said it would hurt. Women 48% say helps, 29% say hurts the GOP ticket.

Among Republican, the choice was a BIG hit- as 87% said it would help, and just 3% said it would hurt.

The latest nationwide survey begun Friday afternoon after McCain announced Palin as a running mate and completed mid-afternoon Saturday, show MCCAIN/PALIN at 47%, compared to 45% support for OBAMA/BIDEN. (absolutely NO after-Convention bump in the polls for the Obama-messiah after that free rock concert & Obamacropolis spectacle in Mile High Stadium

My Analysis: Seeing as McCain has been in a dead-heat with the Obama-Messiah throughout August, even before his choice of Gov. Palin shored up his party's conservative & evangelical base, planting us firmly behind his candidacy...

...the Gulf Coast ain't the only thing that's gonna feel like it's been swept over by a hurricane, when all is said and done!

I think Hussein would do well to air up his tires and get a tune up 'cause he's running out of gas...

...and it's a long drive back to the south side of Chicago...

Not to worry, though...

...it's all downhill for him.

Hypocritical Liberal Feminazis...
...is anybody surprised!?

For years the liberated feminazi's have ben telling the world that a woman can "bring home the 'bacon' and fry it up in a pan" ...that they can do it all ... pursue a career, be a homemaker & mother, can perform on an equal basis as any man counterpart in the work world, strong and confident ... and still be sexy and feminine.

Along comes Sara Palin who is asked to be the GOP VP nominee in 2008! Do they celebrate this monumental event? After all ...she fits the 'model' to a perfect 'T'! Oh .but wait ...she's also a staunch political conservative, believes in God (not the Goddess), & loves her husband.

They can't have any of that! They want us to believe that they are 'concerned' for the well being and health of Mrs. Palin's down syndrome baby but in actuality they are bitter about her decision not to abort. Where was all this concern 'fro the children' when it was learned that the Obamesiah's two young daughters had been indoctrinated with hatred and racism their entire life ...at the hands of Obama's top mentor!?

The dirty little secret has now been exposed 'in full' for all to see! The MSM helped provide cover for them when they trashed all of Clinton's 'bimbos' ...but THIS TIME ..they will not get away with it!

Sarah Palin is a role model for young women to look up to ...Britney Speers and Madonna are not!

Rightmindedmom
Sorry I didn't respond sooner...but I couldn't find the thread where you mentioned my 'Clarisse' reference.

Thanks for getting it! I was afraid no-one would! ;)

The HARPIES
are not representative of the Modern American Female They must, however be well versed in SAUL ALINSKY 101:
"even if all the low-income parts of our population were organized ... it would not be powerful enough to get significant, basic, needed changes." "to believe in the immaculate conception of ends and principles ... the practical revolutionary will understand ... [that] in action, one does not always enjoy the luxury of a decision that is consistent both with one's individual conscience and the good of mankind." "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also, it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage."

The Bottom Line: Governor Palin should smile demurely and tell Obama and hiw fellow travelers to bend over and kiss their A#% goodbye.

I wish..
..I remembered correctly, I think it was on HuffPo, there was an article that tried to tie her failure to win Miss Alaska to her political chances. I had to stop when I read the sentence and then read it again at least three more times to make sure I read it correctly.

...After a pause to search the article I found it....
"Take a look back at the woman who failed to become Miss Alaska, but, if elected, would be a heartbeat away from becoming President of the United States of America."

What?!?! could this author be serious? Well, the answer is yes the author is serious and a nutter as well.

the comments are a hoot!

Two Words:
P3ni$. Envy.

The raging harpies are so full of venom toward men, that any woman who "sides" with men are worse than Satan.

In actuality, it is those afflicted crones who are agents of evil on Earth. They spew lies, cast scornful glances, and work behind the scenes to bring down The MAN.

They are sad, sad little creatures.

Sarah Palin is ten thousand times the woman any one of them could ever hope to be.

Roy Orbison said it best...
Just Runnin' Scared
Afraid to Lose

Obamites were so shocked that McCain didn't make the safe, predictable choice they anticipated. Campaign spokespersons admitted they had plenty of research to use against the men on the so-called "short-list", so this pick caught them totally off-guard. Caused them to blurt out some pretty stupid stuff too. It really galls them and it's actually what they mean when they say she "hasn't been vetted." THEY didn't have a chance to "vet" her in advance.

O-supporters are also enraged that the announcement sucked most of the oxygen out of their hero's "triumphant" convention. Best phrase of the day-after: "Barack Who?"

Though they try to make their negatives sound ominous, most of the "dirt" they've uncovered is insignificant and it scares the h e double toothpicks out of 'em.

It's amusing - if somewhat annoying - to hear and read the same phrases over and over again. ".. the issue of experience off the table for McCain." "is SHE ready to lead on Day One"? "... a heartbeat away from the presidency." Bleat, bleat, bleat.

The Harpies were never going to vote for McCain anyway and they thought this election was going to be a walk. Governor Palin is a serious threat to that delusion, so they are screeching at the top of their lungs.

PALIN -GOOD CHOICE
SHE IS LIFE TIME MEMBER OF NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION.THE LIBERALS HATE HER,THE LIBERALS LOVE CASTRO-AND CUBA.

P.S. MaryG
Looks to me like you're "afflicted" - as am I - with natural curl. In my long ago youth I was often called "Little Orphan Annie" by the girls with smooth, stylish (non red)locks. Future "Harpies" all :-)

It's you who miss the point, Munck
Obama minions try to force the experience argument by comparing Palin to Biden when the actual issue there is the comparison of McCain to Obama.

The mistaken belief that experience argument is "off the table" would be valid only if the democratic ticket was (pardon the expression) flip-flopped.

This is a prime example of Dem/Lib fuzzy logic and a rather bizarre view that makes it appear you expect whichever candidate is elected to drop dead upon inauguration. Odd.

Libs.
I think these left wing feminazi's just have a certain type of "envy". Decent women like Palin have no need for their radical agendas of eliminating men from the planet.

Why respond?
Those comments aren't from or about true feminine ladies, anyway. They beat up on JFK's, Teddy's, and Clinton's victims and the other female victims of Democrat "men", have no problem with the Muslim treatment of women, nor the abortion policies (ah, excuse me "family" policies) of China.

They forget that it took Thatcher, Reagan, and a pope to bring down the USSR, and that Thatcher had very little prior foreign policy experience. Palin should be compared to Biden, who has been making the same foreign policy mistakes for over 30 years. Character counts. I hope that she goes around in her fur coat while she makes mooseburgers out of Biden. If she does eventually make it to the White House, at least she'll be at the desk and not under it.

Don't they wish
These people are intimated by real women, and the fact that real men think she's HOT

Oooh. Touche'
"If she does eventually make it to the White House, at least she'll be at the desk and not under it."

That phrase says it on a number of levels. I'm sure I'll being borrowing it. But I'll probably amend to "When (not IF) she makes it to the White House..."

TrueRedHead
Hey, don't forget to quote me.

What's with your stale blog? I tried to find something out about you.

Palin a breath of fresh air...
Fact is who knew Barak Obama a year ago? He was an obscure Chicago democratic, activist whom spent his whole life associating with dubious characters. All of whom shared a common disdain for "White racist America".
Palin actually has more executive experience than Obama and most importantly...is not a party hack. Proven by her willingness to take on the old gaurd of her own party to confront corruption, as well as the oil companies,
She also embraces the traditional American values...which really aggitates the "progressives".

I am so proud of Sarah Palin
and have enjoyed reading all of the good posts about her. The trolls are suffering on this one. Bwaaaaaaaaa.
They need to get over their silly selves.

I like the way she speaks. She is clear, to the point, and conveys her thoughts in a conversational style. Sorry that she is so comfortable speaking as I do remember Biden saying 'Barack America'. When Obama introduced Biden, he first introduced him as the next president. Those nasty, sneaking, cunning video-prompters! Ever notice how Barack's sentences are all tied together by 'and'? That sucker can go on for paragraphs like that.

Incidentally, I had never before heard of a law review student, much less president, not writing for publication. Is Harvard the only exception?

Sorry Rich
I realized I'd forgotten to give you credit, but it was too late - I'd already hit submit. As far as "borrowing", your line is such a classic, I'm sure it will float far and wide.

My stale blog... I'd kind of forgotten about it since I was so disheartened when Fred Thompson pulled out of the race. Guess I should find time to revamp it or take it offline.

About me: I'm a former longtime resident of the very-red state of Idaho transplanted to the too-blue when I married a Brit marine engineer whose job skills require living near big water such as that found in Western Washington. I decided there was no way I'd allow myself to be tinted passionate-purple or Goracle-green. I find it gratifying to see there are actually a few conservative Washingtonians hereabouts.

Brilliant, risky, and winning choice!
Bu choosing Sarah Palin McCain has energized conservatives. She is a woman's woman.

As for experience--she is getting it right now. On the job training is the best kind.

Animal Girl
When my son was born, my certainly adequate "breasts" didn't produce any milk. Unfortunately, my son was so deprived of breast milk he grew up to be 6'5" and can lift the engine out of a car. Many children are not breast fed. I would have been so grateful had my husband been willing to help me raise our son, but he didn't. I worked full time to raise him, scraped by, but I am the richest woman I know. He's wonderful, despite the absence of his dad.

Sara seals the deal
Please take a moment to remember long ago when you were in college. There were certain very popular people who were attractive, athletic, intelligent, caring toward others and who displayed strong moral character in the daily struggle to do well scholastically. Remember how everyone thought highly of them and wanted to be their friend? They were the cream of the crop and everyone knew it.

If you haven’t noticed already, please allow me to inform you that Sarah Palin is one of those people and then some. She gets along well with ordinary folks, but she is at heart a very different kind of person. She is not ordinary, she is very extraordinary. So, once the voters get to know her, I am certain they will love her. They won’t be able to resist it. They will love her so much that they will not be able to vote against her just as we could never have disrespected those wonderful people we so admired in our college daze.

Please pardon me if I submit for your consideration the now rather obvious fact that O has lost, not going to loose, but already lost this election. Lucifer’s candidate does not stand a chance in hell now. Sarah Palin has sealed the deal for McCain and therefore for our continued existence as a free nation. God applauds in heaven as do we all.

Get A Life:
Why don't you Harpies get a life and move to Nevada!

Mrs. Palin is my kind of feminist
She represents in every way exactly what I fought for in the 1970s when women still could not get credit in their own name, sign a rental agreement without a man to co-sign, have her income considered when the family applied for a mortgage, or even visit the pitlane, much less work there.

Daddy told us that the only things girls could not do were play pro football and father children. (Mama wished he had not said that, but he did). Apparently Sarah Palins father told her the same.

Incidentally, Obama, when Sarah Palins daddy was taking her moose hunting at 4:00 a.m. before she went off to high school, where was YOUR daddy and who was HE taking to the woods?

Best line of the day
comes from the forgottenprophets.blogspot.com, regarding the feminists' reaction to the Palin pick:

"... Sarah is a woman, albeit not an abortionist. Upon which horn of the dilemma will they impale themselves? At least now they have a choice."

The Feminists
It is sad ,is it not?, that as Mary says.....Sarah is not their kind of woman.

Well...,she IS my kind of woman. Finally a woman with a moral compass. She owes nothing to the shrill, whining cows of the dinosaur feminist movement.

The only thing good about that movement nowadays is that they hang together, making them east to spot and avoid.

Mr. Palin
is one lucky man!

Not All Feminists Are Anti-Palin

as is proven out by visiting the following pro-Hillary Clinton site

http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/discussion/showthread.ph p?t=26179

and seeing what her supporters are saying about Ms. Palin.

Conservatives, you will be astounded and very pleased.

And there must be much weeping and gnashing of teeth in the Obama camp, for they have no effective counter to what Ms. Palin brings to the party.

Let's not forget that political "armies" run on the "mother's milk of politics" - MONEY, SO NOW it's time for you to CONSECRATE your enthusiasm for Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin by sending them a fat check to fight NObama! I did. I sent a $1,000 Sunday morning. Do something! Do it NOW!!!

The NObamanation must be stopped at all costs. Imagine the havoc NObama and DEMocRAT majorities in Congress could wreak on the Supreme Court, our national security, our tax code, etc.??? Stop talking and start ACTING!!!

When a woman attacks the nature
of another woman's hair, you KNOW that the attacker is terrified of that woman!

Woody from Iowa

Answer me this!
What is so "femine' about the liberal feminist movement. I have never seen one woman from that movement that is attractive in any way, shape or form.

Now take Gov. Palin. Besides being a great woman in everyway (raising kids, going to work everyday, hunter, fisherwoman, and I might add very attractive). Gov. Palin is everything that the so-called Fems (an oxymoron) have strived to be. This is why they hate here.

trig
Kudos for Sarah for birthing Trig. But I must ask:

Who is raising the baby? What is the name of the nanny hired to be "mom"? Down Syndrome children require more time and attention to raise successfully. Sarah isn't around him enough to be doing it herself.

And yeah, I'm a conservative mom, I believe that babies (especially special needs babies) need their MOTHERS fulltime for the first few years of life. There is plenty of time later, when the child is in school, to pursue a career.

Hey, Munck
Why don't we send Palin on a victory tour in Europe? Once she speaks there, she will have the same foreign policy experience that Oblahblah has.

WHEN THE FLAK IS HEAVIEST

.....YOU ARE OVER THE TARGET ...

.....That was how B25 bombers in WWII called it ...

.....Expect the the rabid liberal attack dogs to zone in on Palin ...they will send their women to do the dirty work while the men lurk in the background ...

.....Sarah Palin is my kind of feminist and in November I will vote for her to be Vice President .....COLOSSUS

Sarah Palin
I don't care if Ms. Palin looks like Helen Thomas, if she see that our immigration laws are enforced. Her biggest obstacle will be her boss. McCain is right in line with Obama as far as rolling out the red carpet for illegal aliens. We shouldn't rest until all illegals are out of the country. Only then could a guest worker program be discussed. And, please, let's drop the guest. We don't need guests who just drop in to pick up the citizenship papers that the two candidates want to bestow upon them for breaking in - just workers and temporary ones who know they are here to work, then go home, and only if every able-bodied American has a job. And they don't need to be from Mexico. There are many other countries whose people are literally dropping dead of starvation.

Wow, I've never seen
claws come out as fast as they have against Gov. Palin. I agree with CW from Connecticut when he/she said:

"Feminism is really just liberalism disguised as a woman’s movement. Its true goal is to protect women from having to take responsibility for their own decisions."

Best quote of the day. Kudos to you CW.

It looks like the little "point-guard" from Alaska has "skied" over the DemoRats "talented center" (Nobama) and scored a slam dunk on his sorry ***!

This race was ho-hum and boring until McCain stunned everyone with his VP choice! I know here in Ohio, many people are ecstatic about this choice....Many are joining volunteer activities and using their homes for gatherings in support of McCain/Palin, and this is just the beginning.

The femi-nazis will continue their attack on Palin...but as CW said, it's really not feminism, it's liberalism that truly attacks!

Thi choice of a WOMAN VP, by the REPUBLICANS of all things, has stopped NObama's campaign momentum right in its' tracks. This race is over. The DemoRats just don't know it yet. It seems "Providence" is more than just a city in Rhode Island, and you are correct in your assessment of the femi-nazis Ms. Grabar. Keep up the good work!

I'm all for women's movement...
...Especially when I can admire it from the back.

Great column! McCain Palin '08

Isn't it amazing . . . .
Barack Obama put down working-class, small-town Americas as being bitter conservatives who stubbornly cling to their bibles and guns -- although he supports the liberal "Sisterhood" who obstinately cling to abortions as their birth control of choice.

Hillary's supporters are livid that Governor Sarah Palin just may become the first woman to reach the White House!

To TownHall
sorry about the duplicate posting...I don't know why that happens!

Yo Animal girl
Ever heard of breast pumps? My daughter used this device as well as breast feeding all of her three children who are doing quite well emotionally and physically.

The Women's Vote is a Myth!
Senator Clinton and Governor Palin are proof that women can and do diverge on important issues.

Even on the question of whether women should vote!

But most people are totally in the dark about HOW the suffragettes won votes for women, and what life was REALLY like for women before they did.

Suffragettes were opposed by many women who were what was known as 'anti.'

The most influential 'anti' lived in the White House. First Lady Edith Wilson was a wealthy Washington widow who married President Wilson in 1915.

Her role in Wilson's decision to jail and torture Alice Paul and hundreds of other suffragettes will never be fully known, but she was outraged that these women picketed her husband's White House.

"The Privilege of Voting" is a new free e-mail series that follows eight great women from 1912 - 1920 to reveal ALL that happened to set the stage for women to win the vote. It's a real-life soap opera!

Proverbs 31
To those Christians in here, you will know what I'm talking about. Prov. 31 discribes the true "Feminist". Gov. Palin is a 'virtuous' woman. Her husband will for sure be known at the "gates."

This is not original, but.....
trying to make Obama look good is like trying to polish a t urd. Even if you are successful, all you have is a shiny t urd.

On the other end of the scale, Sarah Palin is like polishing a diamond. She is so bright she glitters, she is tough but beautiful. She also has attributes that a diamond does not. She is a mom, a conservative and an independent thinker. Anyone whose favorite dish is moose stew has gotta be terrific! And she is married to a REAL MAN!

Instead of voting against Hussein, I will now be voting for McCain/Palin, and thankful that I will have the opportunity!

Bob Munck
"Obama's lack of experience compared to McCain was supposed to be a major talking point of the McCain campaign."

-- Actually, FOR WEEKS McCain has been asking, "What has he accomplished?" The comparison of ACCOMPLISHMENTS gives a very clear picture, as does the comparison of positions on the issues and governing philosophy. The question posed by McCain ads, "Is he ready to lead?" is just as valid today as it was last week.

"THE ORIGINAL POINT IS LOST. Instead of making a strong point comparing Obama to McCain, you're forced to argue the comparison of Obama to Palin."

-- 'Fraid not, Munckey. McCain still has decades more experience than Obama; that has not changed. The race is still between McCain and Obama; that has not changed. Voters in the booth will pull the lever for either McCain or Obama; that has not changed.

"When, as I am confident will happen, Palin withdraws her name to spend more time with her family, the campaign will be over."

-- After all of the discussions we've had over the course of the last year, to find out that you're a sexist porker is shocking . . . SHOCKING, I tell you! That you can support a candidate whose rally slogan is "Yes We Can," and at the same time point to a working mom and say "No you can't," is THE SUMMIT of hypocrisy.

Hillary's best chance at being President
would come from Obama losing this time around. There is much speculation that McCain may only serve one term. Therefore, I am not surprised to hear that some of Hillary's supporters are grooving on Palin !

Hell
Talent Scout.

YOu posted..."God made a hell for a good reason, its a good destination for these lying screwballs who attack this outstanding real American Lady"

recently ourpastor gave a sermon on people creating their own Hell. seems like these lib fems are doing just that.

Also, thank God we have people such as Mary Grabor. She is a jewell and I wixh her all the best in her endeavor to keep the light of truth shining.

Mary G.,look how things have changed
since your last column ! The selection of Sarah Palin is a big step in the right direction for McCain. Let's hope that McCain now has the courage to fight in this campaign to win.I love your columns. James

BobMunck misses his own point
Or should I say he gets it backwards?

"Instead of making a strong point comparing Obama to McCain, you're forced to argue the comparison of Obama to Palin."

Actually, it is Bob Munck and his fellow Obama groupies that are forced to try to make comparisons between their Presidential nominee and the GOP's VP nominee because they know they are hopelessly defeated in a straight up comparison of Presidential nominees.

And the worst part is they don't even want to make the Comparison between Obama and Palin. Bob Munck tries to use the Palin nomination to take 'experience' off the table, but in fact his own argument is a tacit admission that the Dems know they have already lost this one.

The ugly feminist beasts are
jealous of a beautiful, intelligent, strong, woman who is head and shoulders above all of them. As a woman, mother, and wife, I cannot wait to cast my vote for McCain/Palin in Nov. I was dragging my feet and holding my nose for just McCain. Palin makes all the difference. Also, no one has less experience than Barry Obama so let's not sweat the experience angle too much. The guy is an empty suit, among other things.

Topsy-Turvy
Sarah Palin is everything first-wave feminists would have respected. The problem is feminism is so far removed and distorted from its original goals that someone like Palin arrives on the scence and the modern harpies can't even recognize she is the epitome of what feminism was supposed to accomplish.

Thanks to Grabar for her quotation of Lady Macbeth. For those not in the know, the quotation is Lady Macbeth praying to have her feminine attributes stripped from her, so that she can successfully plot to murder the king to help her husband gain the throne. What an apt quotation for modern leftist feminism whose sole concern seems to be murdering babies.

Sarah's theme
Her nickname on the basketball team suggests the best theme song "Barracuda!!" (was that by ABBA? I forget...) I've had that tune running in my brain since Friday - I'm tired...

As for abortion, I believe that these Femocrats are the best argument for retroactive abortion - it's never too late!!

And I'm lovin' the line "at least she'll be AT the desk, not under it!"

(y'all really need to post those with "Spew alert" as the subject line!)

That was Heart!!!
Barracuda would be a GREAT intro at the Con and they could still play the "Jaws" theme when she swims up to sink her sharp little teeth in Dopey Joe Biden's fat rump roast.

Palin vs oblama!
In regard to experience this sums it up nicely!

While Sarah Palin was running a state, oblama was running his mouth!

Disclosure: I read that someplace. Wish I could say I thought of it, but I'm not a biden!

I would like to ask what experience oblama does have other than running his mouth? 143 days in the Senate, running his mouth, before declaring his candidacy for president, where-upon he has been running his mouth non-stop ever since. Of course that is quite an accomplishment considering his foot is in it most of the time!

They don't call him the "Wizard of Uh's" for nothing! Also read that someplace and thought it was cute. Not as cute as oblama's ears, but cute non-the-less!

Cheers,
Don C

PS: Oh, good luck libs with that experience thing. You know the one that tries to compare you pick for POTUS with our pick for Veep!

Mean Girls
C'mon! Was I the ONLY one who flashed on the movie "Mean Girls" as I read this post? Here are our feminist Titans, our leaders toward equality for all females, and the first comments out of their mouths are catty remarks about stuff like Sarah Palin's HAIRDO??!!?? I feel like I'm back in high school!

News flash
Just heard on the news (Matt Lauer) about how the dems will be hitting Gov. Palin because her 17 year old daughter is pregnant and not married.

I raised all my kids in a Christian environment. They are not Christian today. All I CAN DO IS PRAY FOR THEM.
I have 3 grandchildren by them. None are married. They made theirr own choices in life.

Does this fact interfer with the way I live my life or how I do my chosen field in life? NO, it does not.

Sure, some liberal idiot will say that they are a reflection of me, but the same can be said that they are a reflection of their own parents.

Why is everyone so surprised
that the first woman vice-president may be a Republican? Condi Rice is a Republican, and (correct me if I'm wrong) the first woman US-UN representative was a conservative woman. The biggest difference between Republicans and Democrats in ethnic/gender trailblazing is that the Republicans wait until they have found a candidate that can do the job.

animalgirl
"Palin has not once had to deal with Russia. That's conservative fantasy."
-- And you know this HOW? Alaska conducts trade DIRECTLY with Russia, and that involves cargo flights onto Alaskan soil. In addition there are charter flights approved by her office. Oh, and she is still the Commander in Chief of the Alaska National Guard.

"It's funny--Grabar seems upset that feminists have actual principals [sic] -- she wants them to simply vote for a woman, no matter what said woman believes."
-- It's funny . . . Grabar never said that.

"Feminists are not so blind. They are more interested in good policy than candidates with vaginas [sic]. Grabar is advocating blind identity voting."
-- Never said it. The only one who did say it . . . was you.

"Also, Grabar is lying about the Q&A with Kathleen Parker. The questioner did NOT say what Grabar said she said. Other people were there too, Mary, so it's best NOT to lie about what transpired in a public place."
-- What do YOU say she said? Why did you not print it right here?

"The lady never intimated that Palin should have killed her baby. Grabar is throwing that lie in"
-- Actually, Grabar NEVER intimated that the lady intimated what you intimated that Grabar intimated that the lady intimated. So the only liar here . . . is you.

"to obscure the very good point that women with tiny babies (disabled or not) should take care of their children instead of dumping their infants on strangers while they hit the road on a national campaign."
-- Ah yes, the feminism of political convenience. I guess then that you would have been totally opposed to the candidacy of Bobby Kennedy, who at the time had a 3-year-old, a 1-year-old, and whose wife (Ethel) was pregnant with their 11th -- good Catholics that they were -- child. Is that correct?

Feminists Are Racist Murderers
What has enraged the feminists is Palin's condemnation of the racist murders of black babies in US abortion clinics.

Every single feminist in the US fully defends and condones Planned Parenthood's Project Negro, which has resulted in the extermination of tens of millions of black babies since Roe v Wade.

These feminists care about one thing only-murdering black babies to satisfy their politically liberal beliefs that blacks are genetically inferior and not emtitled to be called human beings.

Guess who started this crap
Well you can thank you're buddy Richard Nixon for starting this negative campaigning based on cultural values. Running for higher office isn't beanbags and the Democrats have learned to fight back. The swift boat slime machine attacks on Kerry taught the Democrats that they just can't ignore negative ads. Personally I wish both parties would knock it off and sign a mutual pledge not to do this sort of thing. But Palin is a big girl and I'm sure she's probably getting a big laugh out of it. That aside she is totally unfit for VP, based on her lack of foreign policy experience and short tenure as governor. Sounds like the Republican's are in disarray with Rove fighting with McCain over his choice of Lieberman when Rove wanted Romney, so in a huff, McCain picked Palin. McCain should practice what he preaches and think of America first.

animalgirl
"Women can have children and careers. But they cannot have highly demanding jobs and infants at the same time and do both well. Sorry. that's reality."
-- No. That's a demeaning, condescending, belittling, anti-feminist, sexist, narrow-minded opinion . . . and it's coming from you.

"Does Palin's husband have breasts? If he does, than you're right. In the more likely case that he doesn't, he can't take care of a baby as well as Palin. Breastfeeding is so important for any baby, but especially one who already have the deck stacked against him."
-- Now she's a bad mother for not breastfeeding? Can you say 'grasping at straws'? Isn't that another yoke of oppression for feminists?

"Palin's abandonment of her baby when he needs her so much is a little disgusting. I have a five month old, and I look at her and can't imagine dumping her while I run off to tour the country."
-- What a piece of work you are. Sarah Palin's family is on the campaign trail with her! When she meets and greets people one of her daughters stands within ten feet of her, holding Trig. If you think this child is not receiving proper care I urge you to do the following -- go to the blog of John McCain's daughter, Meghan (for SUNDAY, AUGUST 31, 2008); scroll down and look at the photo captioned "Todd Palin and his son, Trig"; look at it closely for a good long time; then go look at yourself in the mirror for the same length of time.

"Who is raising the baby? What is the name of the nanny hired to be "mom"?"

-- Dad.

"Down Syndrome children require more time and attention to raise successfully. Sarah isn't around him enough to be doing it herself."

-- She's around him practically all day, everyday. That isn't enough?

"And yeah, I'm a conservative mom, I believe that babies (especially special needs babies) need their MOTHERS fulltime for the first few years of life. There is plenty of time later, when the child is in school, to pursue a career."

-- You're a traditionalist; that's okay. As a conservative you will still be voting the right way, I am sure.

For Everyone Here:
I encourage every poster here to visit the blog of McCain's daughter, Meghan; especially today. It is loaded with photos of Sarah Palin's family. The pic of Trig should (it won't but it should) shut up all of the haters:

Ignoring History
Bobzmchisl bloviates:

"The swift boat slime machine attacks on Kerry taught the Democrats that they just can't ignore negative ads."

Sorry to burst your bubble, Bob, but you're ignoring history.

The dirtiest Presidential campaign in recent history was waged by none other than that wonderful icon of the Democreep left, Lyndon B. Johnson, in 1964. That campaign was punctuated by the now-infamous Maxwell Dane "Flower Girl" television spot, which conveyed the patently dishonest message that Johnson's Republican opponent, Arizona Senator Barry M. Goldwater, was an irresponsible warmongering hothead who would precipitate a worldwide nuclear holocaust if elected President.

As a result of that advertisement, Senator Goldwater suffered a crushing defeat in the general election. In this instance, what you call "negative campaigning" worked so well that it became the model for every Democreep Presidential campaign ever since.

That's eleven Presidential elections, out of which the Democreeps have won a grand total of three. And yet the Democreeps continue to practice this slash-and-burn campaigning.

"Fighting back" is NOT the lesson the Democreeps needed to learn.

Higene
Everyone is talking about the so-called lack of experience of Gov. Palin. Can you or any lib (without being childish) please explain what experience does Obama have. (NON LIBS PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THIS ONE). What makes you convienced that Obama has more experience than Palin. Can you please list his experience?

Bygene
"Governor Palin has no special status from being pro-life because nobody is anti-life."
-- If you think that's cute or, even worse, that it actually has some significant meaning, you are wrong on both counts.

"However lots of people, at least 55% according to recent polls, are pro-choice and Palin is clearly anti-choice."
-- Governor Palin is anti-killing-an-innocent-life.

"That's what will do in the Republican slate in the end."
-- Let's meet back here on Nov. 5th.

"Not just her lack of experience, but the risk that she will try to force every woman, by law, to carry a down syndrome fetus to term."
-- Everyone should be forced to NOT kill innocent life. That's called being civilized. As for what she will "try" to do: given your 55% number, what do you think she will actually achieve?

Typical Libs
Putting ideology ahead of humanity . . . EXACTLY what they accuse conservatives of doing.

Higene says:
"...she will try to force every woman, by law, to carry a down syndrome fetus to term. "

My, what a compassionate post. What humanity you display. It is truly heartwarming.

Man oh man
"but the risk that she will try to force every woman, by law, to carry a down syndrome fetus to term. "

The sheer cold calculus behind such a statement chills me to the bone.

From the Left Wing Site
"Talk Left" discussing Palin's position on abortion when asked during the Gov Campaign.

Q: If Roe v. Wade were overturned and states could once again prohibit abortion, in your view, to what extent should abortion be prohibited in Alaska?

Under this hypothetical scenario, it would not be up to the governor to unilaterally ban anything. It would be up to the people of Alaska to discuss and decide how we would like our society to reflect our values.

That pretty much puts Higien's statement where it belongs; with the rest of the BS he/she/it regularly spews.

I'm still reeling from it
"but the risk that she will try to force every woman, by law, to carry a down syndrome fetus to term. "

I could do a term paper on everything wrong contained in that statement. Oh my word.

Only a seriously injured soul could come up with such sentiments and such formulations.

Funny Comparison
I just read the entire writings on Palin and Obama on Wikipedia. One sounds well educated and prepared, and comes at the highest recommendation from his peers and instructors at Harvard, and another may have graduated with a minor in political science. One only sounds elite (may be the hard work and education, don;t you think?) and one sounds like an extra from Fargo.

I'm certain Palin graduated near last in her classes as well. Is America really looking for two dimwits to replace the Bush disaster? Really? We could use some real intelligence for a change from BushCo and cronies.

Wikipedia?
in the majority, are you serious?

I guess if it's on Wikipedia, it must be true?

If these liberals weren't so pathetic, they would be laughable.

They watch CNN or NBC or ABC and consider themselves in the know, all the time completely oblivious to the brainwashing.

Enuff Already!
What is wrong with all of you people with your negative postings? Get over yourselves. Especially the nimnut that suggests the populace will be forced to not abort Down's Syndrome children.Aaaaak! And second runner ups are the people worried about the care of the Palin's baby.Again Aaaaaak!

The point of the article was that Palin is not a feminist's kind of woman. She is not. That is sad. She should be.

On this day when the Republican convention is on hold because of Hurricane Gustav...,let me remind you all that the feminist movement achieved three things. Hurricanes are now named after both males AND females. That is ridiculous! They also gave us the term Ms. which is ugly, can never sound right, and there is always the question of how to apply it.I prefer Mrs....,I do not mind having a husband. And before I was married I did not mind Miss. The biggie that they gave us was legalized abortion. Now that is really something to be proud of!Killing the unborn.Because no matter where you are on the argument of when life begins.....,it is killing.

I AM pro choice. But if confronted with a group of pro lifers who questioned my stance..., I would have to admit that the opposite of pro life is pro death. Because that is really what it is. If I had my way,Roe v Wade WOULD be revisited. And there would be an amendment that said, ALL abortions would be conducted no later than the end of the third month. If a woman missed the cutoff...,too bad. Take it to term Honey. A lot of people out there would like the baby that you do not want. The idea that a woman has a right to hem and haw and decide at any point in her pregnancy to abort is insane. And I am tired of hearing about it.

If the FEMS want to be relevant once again , why do they not speak up about Honor Killings in this country, arranged marriages, and wearing the full muslim garb that makes a female an IT?

Let 'em rant I say...
...this IS a country of tolerance, after all.

Those who demand tolerance but do not reciprocate lose their credibility pretty fast.

Especially when they pass judgment on people for making DIFFERENT choices than they would.

The diversity is what makes this country great.

So let 'em rant.

They diminish themselves with their negativity.

If a woman wants to look elegant and wear her hair up, there's no better way than to use a hair clip. If you've got it, flaunt it!

(Scunci also makes the infamous "scrunchie", which makes ponytails a piece of cake.)

Ponytails are another favorite of mine on the lovely ladies.

Wendy
Agreeing that euphoria may be clouding the judgement of many of Mrs. Palin's supporters, I would welcome substantive critiques of the nominee. I hope you don't actually think that your despicable and hateful diatribe rises to that level.

Can't her critics give us something besides a dreadful view into their morbid inner souls?

I have pretty much tried to keep up with the R & c case, as have the "legal" immigrants at my work and we all have this question: Is there any proof that the drug dealer was shot in the rear on this side of the border? In other words, is there any proof that he did not get shot by his boss in order to be made an example and cause the jailing of R. & C.?

Wendy
So you say that Sarah Palin gave birth to "a retard"? Wow. I thought people like you were all about "choice" without judgment? No, you're the poster child for the pro-death-for-those-who-aren't-perfect-or-convenient fringe.

As for the rest of us, after reading your disgusting description of a handicapped child and the mother who loves him we can empathize with why some animals eat their young and wonder why your mother didn't do the same to you.

Sheesh.

Animal
No they admit to having shot at him after he produced a weapon. There was about 400# of dope in his van, and they had pulled him over in a known drug corridor on this side of the border.
So my guess would be here.
But none of this mattered too Johnny Sutton the prosecutor. He went too Mexico, looked the scumbag up and promised him full immunity for all his past crimes committed in the US to come back and testify against the BP agents. What is worse is the fact that during their trial, he had a “get across the border free pass” and continued to transport drugs. But at least now he has been busted again and is serving 9 ½ years for it.
It has also been said that Scumbag Sutton withheld info from the jury. But that I can not deny or confirm.

Regressing
Mary Grabar wrote:

"Katha Pollitt, in a Nation Magazine column on Schlafly’s honorary degree, wailed: “sometimes I think we’re truly going backward, as Republican hegemony, conservative Christianity and anti-feminist media propaganda take their cumulative toll.”

Okay, let's look at this to see which party is going backward. Left-wing loons are starting to push the agenda that having sex with animals is okay. One of the films at the Sundance festival featured a 13 year old girl being raped. When some people criticized the film, Robert Redford (whom I no longer have ANY respect for) came to the immediate defense of the film and said the girl had agreed to actually being screwed by an older man on film. Liberals have pro-pedophilia advocates among them, and bestiality advocates among them. What's next - being allowed to "marry" an animal and have sex with it? And you call these "progressive" ideas? Left-wing ideas are causing liberals to regress to the point where they are less than animals. You have proven though that humans can devolve (mentally).

Wendy
I happen to be one of those selfish people who has been blessed with what YOU call a retard. After reading the crap you write, I can only say that your Mother was even more selfish than my wife and I or all the others as she kept a self centered, egotistical, non functional human being who is quite frankly a obitch!

is just a longer word for "sl*ts." Women who have no idea how to think for themselves and so, they run in packs (sl*t packs)and think they're "hot." They drink, smoke it up, spread those legs for anything that isn't afraid to play in dirt and then kill the results of their "lifestyle" with reckless abandon. They don't even realize that having abortions is the VERY reason they drink, smoke it up, attempt suicide, live lives of death, and keep on spreading those legs--the only way to try to dull the pain of truth.

The beneficiaries have to live there year round also. I think that after living there year round for a few years, they should get more, quite frankly. Does Ayn Rand Live?
Hey AynRandLives, why are there not more Objectivists? I think, other than a brief exposure in high school, most people have missed the philosophy of Ayn Rand. I really think that if more people took the time to delve into her writings the world would be a much better place.

Or can you imagine the outrage if a female
Democrat had taken on a huge undertaking with
a brand new baby. We all know that answer.
But of course, it is a "family matter" for them ince it is one of their own.

Now to the real issue that should be discussed
and isn't enough. Does anyone want a repeat
of the last 8 years. I cannot believe why
anyone would vote for any Republican not only
became of the Bush debacle but also because we
are learning what a sad, sad joke Reaganomics
is.

Steven
I'm assuming you were just trying to write when it was too late--or you were drunk or something. Here's the thing. We're PRO-LIFE. We believe in LIFE. That is why we would rather see the baby be given his/her unalienable right to LIFE instead of this pregnancy being quietly covered up and the baby be violently murdered like any good democrat would do. Also. You obviously have no understanding of economics--so I am assuming you're either playing with your mom and dad's computer or you're a product of the public school of indoctrination. Either way--as a tribute to it being the first day of school in our state--you're not the brightest crayon in the box.

right on
How can Sarah Palin be pro-patriarchy while running for the number 2 position? Doesn’t she know that she succeeds McKean if anything happens to him? I mean, picture that 3 am phone call scenario. Palin will answer the phone with, “Hold on, I have to ask my husband.”

I agree about the hair comments. What kind of low life would devote column after column to a candidate’s hair. Thank goodness TH doesn’t archive. That might show what complete hypocrites some folks around here are.

truetolife
I didn’t know you were against the war and nuclear weapons.

Diddy: Alaska? There's no black people
ABC news has a video on their website of rapper Diddy preaching about McCain selecting a woman from Alaska as his running mate. In the video, Diddy says "Attention John McCain. My name is Diddy. You may know me by my government name, Sean Combs, but my friends and family call me Diddy, aka Sherak(?) Obama... I have to tell you that you are buggin the f*** out... I don't even understand what planet you are on right now... Alaska? Alaska? Alaska? I don't know if there is any black people in Alaska... John, come on. Sarah P? If you really think we're going to let you win this election with these crazy decisions you're making, you're buggin... John McCain is buggin the f*** out... She's a heart beat away... What in the hell? Alaska? You should have gotten Michelle Obama to be your running mate... This one here (Palin) is not respectful to our diverse lives. You would let her keep your kids?... Sarah Palin, that is completely irresponsible... I gotta make sure that all young people, all the forgotten ones come out ...and vote in record numbers because you are buggin the f*** out John McCain... Alaska? mother f***er? What is the reality of that? There's not even no crackheads in Alaska. There's not even no black people. There's not even like no crime or like crime policies. Yo'all may be versed on foreign policies. Yo'all need to get versed on black policies... We the future."

Here is the same video on Youtube. It's easier to find than the ABCNews.com video.

You make a somewhat weak point with this Bobama speach. You forget he himself was born to a teen unwed mother. Try again, sonny.

Newguy
Who the living heck gives a good hoot what P. Diddy Combshis Locks says? All he talks about is murdering people and taking drugs. Sharack P.Nobama? Yeah right, one and the same!

eastlake joe
Conservative bloggers do. They use it against Obama. I think that’s what NewGuy was trying to do.

A New limit
Wendy =

Of course, evangelicals are not true conservatives. Palin birthed a retard when told beforehand that it would be so, and that is all that the evangelicals needed to know. Psychotic euphoria ensued. Denial of all the dirty realities about her and her family will follow, to include her teenage daughter's pregnancy, her husband's DWI, and her role in getting an ex-relative fired. Birthed a retard--support Palin. Watch the country go down, but God gave us a special retard!

====================
I have seen some foul, deranged, despicable opinions expressed, but you seem to be setting a new limit. Maybe you would advocate the method Der Fuhrer promoted?

I have no words for a creature such as you.

Real Men
Questions a real man would answer to some of the questions above:

1) What is the nanny's name?
a) Me.

2) Who makes the decisions?
a) The appropriate partner - that's what a married couple are. And by appropriate it is a perfectly valid (and common) answer to be "We" when it applies to the family.

3) Can a woman make those types of decision?
A) Oh, I think maybe yes. Maybe ask the Nurse, MBA, Chemical Engineer, Forensic Chemist or Veterinarian women I know. (Wife and Daughters...)

Besides - we aren't falling for the old watch what the right hand is doing while the left picks your pocket. The issue is McCain vs. wonderkind. As much as I hate to, I will pull the lever (and so will the above mentioned...) because that is the least damaging for the Nation.

I only hope that in four years I get to have a Palin vs. er... what was her name...? choice. (That was a JOKE, demos...)

Finally: Liberals, say it with me: BUSH is not running again.

MikeR
Of course I'm against war, the death penalty and nuclear weapons. I said I'm PRO LIFE.

"You make a somewhat weak point with this Bobama speach. You forget he himself was born to a teen unwed mother. Try again, sonny."

******

First of all, don't "sonny" me, jerk. Second
I didn't forget that he was born to a teen unwed
mother, because he wasn't. Or at the very least
we do not know that she was not married. It has
only been said that "they" cannot find a marriage
certificate although she got a divorce. And
while she was a teenager, she was a 19 year
old teenager. I was born very close to when
she was born. Trust me, lots of people got
married as teenagers then. It was pretty much
the norm if you didn't go to college. She did
go to college of course and she did marry a
non-white man, and she did have a somewhat
wild and restless spirit, and she did leave
her son alone with his grandparents for a few
years. And still he is a success. It isn't
fair, is it? He should be all those things
you are trying to make him out to be. And
he just isn't. HE IS A HUGE SUCCESS.

Although I have voted conservative more
often the not, he has my vote.

No one is trying to make her out as a typical
mom. Nor did Obama have a typical childhood.
What he has done is risen to the tippy top
in spite of that, something that you should
admire. But instead you do everything in your
power to put the worst possible spin on
everything.

Not exactly your most admirable trait, wouldn't
you agree?

Oh wow
I can't believe TH took out my statement about the "rap daddy." That was what I learned in my very first ebonics class!!!! Oh well.....if you don't want to learn ebonics I guess that's your business. But it's so full of meaningless non-talk I just thought I'd share some of it. Michelle Malkin alluded to some ebonics in her column dated Sept. 3rd--that's even better!!!!!

HE IS A HUGE SUCCESS. (Steven)
Oh, sure, in all 57 states, but at what? Snowing people? Collecting votes? Lying? Voting 'present' 130 times? Check his failed housing projects in Chicago. Never held a meeting of his subcommittee. He's another Jim Jones, and you are about to drink his Kool-Aid. What does that make you?

There is no there there.

Rich D.
"There is no there there."

Very amusing. I know what you are mimicking but
I still haven't figured out what you are saying.

Let me tell you what I am saying. The Republicans are bringing the country to ruin.
I will not vote for John McCain. Nice person,
heroic even. But no Republican will get my vote again until they themselves make some serious changes.

McCain won't do that. Neither will super mom.

Steven
I wasn't too excited about the Rinos and McCain, either, but what I was addressing was the totally empty resume of Obama. That wasn't clear, really?

You have to have a very loose definition of "huge success" (not just unmodified success) to call him hugely successful. Not only that, he's totally off-the-wall with his inane pronouncements on foreign affairs, taxes, and economics. He even had his name attached to bills that he had nothing to do with.

Perhaps you can list his accomplishments. Hillary and Biden couldn't find any a few months ago.

Good thing we live in small towns...
People don't get harpies here, that only happens in San Francisco. I thought I might have gotten them from one of my sheep once, but that was a false alarm. Phew!

Establishment (Blue State) Feminism
Establishment Feminism in America today is Blue State Feminism and has such individuals as Hillary Clinton and Barbara Boxer as it’s represntatives. This is today’s radical feminism and it is part of today’s Establishment Liberalism as represented by the Democratic Party. Establishment Blue State Feminism must not conflict with the wider agenda of Establishment Liberalism.

Palin, to the Blue State Feminists, represents Red State Feminism. She loves her husband, she loves her children and family, she opposes abortion, she loves her country, and does not see herself as being oppressed by men and the patriarchy.

Palin is a punch in the face to Establishment Blue State Feminism.

Establishment Blue State Feminism does not truly care about women, otherwise they would be celebrating Palin. But Palin runs counter to the agenda of Blue State Feminism and Establishment Liberalism.

Now I would just as soon get rid of the word feminism, unless of course this country mainstreamed it’s male counterpart: masculinism, men’s rights, or whatever name men wish to come up with. But the political class and the MSM is going to frame every discussion of Palin through a feminist lense.

Now I don’t know if Palin will use her influence to damage men, but from what I see, she loves her husband, children, family, God, and country-and these give hope that Palin can perhaps redefine the national discourse about women and men away from the damaging and dominant influence of Establishment Blue State Feminism. That alone may be reason enough for Blue State Feminists to want to destroy Palin.

Democrats, Liberals, and Establishment Feminists are experiencing an existential threat.
