Louis Freeh's Biography
Louis Freeh was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1950. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers College in 1971. He received a J.D. degree from Rutgers Law School in 1974 and an LL.M. degree in criminal law from New York University Law School in 1984. He served as a First Lieutenant in the Untied States Army Reserve.
Louis Freeh was the 10th Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving from September 1993 to June 2001.
Freeh began his career as an agent of the FBI, and was later an assistant United States Attorney and a U.S. District Court judge, the position he held when appointed FBI director. He is now a lawyer and consultant in the private sector.
