Will Sarah Palin make a run at the GOP Nomination in 2012?

Senator George Allen [R-VA] seemed a lock for reelection. That is, before the "stunning" revelation that, as a college student in the 1970s, he used the "N" word.

Allen, in addition, stands accused of racial insensitivity because he recently used the term "macaca." Here's the story. Shekar Ramanuja Sidarth, who works for Allen's opponent, followed and filmed Allen during the senator's campaign stops. Sidarth's parents came from India, but he was born in Fairfax County, Virginia. At a campaign rally, Allen pointed to the man and said, "Let's give a welcome to Macaca here. Welcome to America and the real world of Virginia." Apparently, some consider the term "macaca" -- which can mean "monkey" -- a racial slur. Allen publicly and privately apologized, personally calling the young man to express his remorse.

Let's play who's-the-racist-and-what-is-the-statute-of-limitations.

Consider the allegations that Allen's Democratic opponent, Jim Webb, also used the "N" word. According to former acquaintance Dan Cragg, while a freshman from 1963 to 1964 at University of Southern California, Webb used to drive through Watts, a predominantly black area of Los Angeles, pointing rifles and shouting the "N" word at blacks. Moreover, Webb, a published novelist, liberally uses the "N" word in his work. Examples: "They want stupid n*ggers, they'd all pay to see a dumb*ss n*gger." -- "Fields of Fire," p. 302. "Don't know why I crave watermelon the way I have over the past few weeks. Jimmy says I must have a n*gger in the woodpile." -- "A Country Such As This," p. 34.

What about the man known as the "conscience of the Senate," Senator Robert Byrd [D-WVA]? He belonged to the Klan during the 1940s, where he served as a "Kleagle" -- a Klan recruiter. Back then, Byrd referred to American blacks as "race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."

How about then-Arkansas governor Bill Clinton? According to Clinton's bodyguard, Arkansas State Trooper Larry Patterson, Clinton frequently used the "N" word, using it to describe Reverend Jesse Jackson, as well as a local black civil rights leader. Said Patterson, "When [Bill Clinton] had black political leaders in the state and he disagreed with them, he would frequently use the 'N' word."

What about former First Lady and current Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton [D-NY]? She allegedly called Clinton's congressional campaign adviser, who failed to secure her then-boyfriend's 1974 election to Congress, a "f***ing Jew bastard." Not only did Paul Fray -- the target -- go public, so did his wife, as well as campaign aide and businessman Neil McDonald.

What about more recent examples of "racial insensitivity"? The then-First Lady, in 1996, gave a speech on behalf of an organization called "EMILY's List." EMILY stands for Early Money Is Like Yeast. In her speech, Hillary mocked black then-mayor Willie Brown, who, according to Clinton, did not know this "person" called "Emily" and asked to be introduced to her. First Lady Clinton, according to the Los Angeles Times, used a "mock African-American accent" to imitate Brown, saying, "She's supportin' all these people. She's supportin' Senator Dianne Feinstein. She's supported Senator Barbara Boxer. ... She supported everybody. Why won't she support me?"

What about the alleged racist strategy employed by now-Senator Chuck Schumer [D-NY]? In 1974, Jay Homnick, then 16 years old, says he attended a meeting in the Flatbush area of New York. Schumer, a newly minted Harvard grad running for State Assembly, was introduced to the audience consisting of local white, Italian, Jewish and Slavic immigrants. They wanted to rid three city blocks of Avenue K apartments whose tenants were almost 100 percent black. Schumer, according to Homnick, suggested a way to eradicate this infestation from the community.

Schumer told the group that, if elected, he planned to propose legislation to "help" the poor blacks by designating their buildings as being in need of extensive facelifts. With the residents "temporarily" relocated in government housing, the apartments would be renovated and sold as condos. The original tenants would be offered the right to purchase the new condos, wrote Homnick, but "we could be sure that -- ha, ha, ha -- the blacks would not be able to raise the cash required, which would not be inconsiderable."

What about the current congressional candidacy of Keith Ellison, running in Minnesota's 5th district? In 1990, Ellison, then a member of the Nation of Islam and a law student at the University of Minnesota, wrote an article for the school's newspaper defending NOI's Minister Louis Farrakhan against charges of racism. Farrakhan has called Judaism a "gutter religion," pronounced Adolf Hitler "wickedly great," claimed that whites are the devil, condemned gays, and, on their website, his organization still calls for a separate region in America so that blacks may relocate and live there. Ellison now denounces Farrakhan's views and says back then he failed to "adequately scrutinize" the minister's positions.

Moral to the story, anti-Semitism and anti-black rhetoric counts against you -- unless, of course, you're a Democrat.

double standards
Unfortunately, in the world today, the most successful segment of society cannot say or do any little thing, any part of a less successful segment might possibly consider the least bit disrespectful to anyone they have ever heard of. At the same time the less successful segments can say anything they want to about the most successful segment. This creates a double standard that can be used to a considerable advantage by someone with low morals. A person with self respect will not be shaken by anything anyone says about them, unless they are running for office. Unfortunately, many people, who actually vote, do not go to the trouble to verify what they hear from the media, especially if it is something they have already formed an opinion about. Most people in America would not lie or deceive through the media, so they assume no one else would. Alas, the American mainstream media, who many Americans consider the most trustworthy, often is the most deceitful. Apparently, the mainstream media, as well as many other leftists (liberals), will go to any length they think they can possibly get away with, including putting American soldiers (who are risking their lives defending the very system the lefterals so craftily abuse) in even greater danger than they're already in. Add to that, they seem to be trying to make it as easy as possible for terrorists to strike America (now we all know a REAL AMERICAN would never do any like that). All this to discredit the Republicans enough to take control of America. Fortunately, their is a GOD, and it is usually not for the benefit of the world for people like these lefterals to be in control of the most powerful nation in the history of the world. I don't know how to start a new paragraph. An easily offended person often considers themselves inferior to the person who offends them. Many people ,who are less successful, in their opinion, than others, are resentful of people who they consider to be better off than they are. But, often they don't intend to put forth the effort necessary to legally become the people they are so envious of. This is usually why someone, who actually has the same opportunity for success as anyone else, falls behind. While it is true that some people get a head start on others, this is usually due to effort a relative exerted, over and above the effort of relatives of the less fortunate. Success is almost always do to greater effort than the less successful. This can be compounded when, generation after generation, less successful people rationalize their position in life by criticizing people they are envious of. Often, they will exaggerate, present rumor or conclusion as fact, or if necessary, lie through their teeth in order to make it ok, in their twisted mind, to not even try, legally, to bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be. Some are so far behind ,due to generations of this mind set and the resulting lack of effort, that it will take generations to catch up. They use the seemingly unbearable time and effort as an excuse not to even try. Instead , they criticize the people they envy in an attempt to rationalize their perceived inferiority and misery. This leads to being so resentful of people they actually look up to, they are so easily offended it is hard to talk to them at all, thus the futility of negotiating with people who are so resentful of others, they want to kill the people they actually feel so inferior to, they have become irrational, often irreversibly. This also explains the low-down, sleazy, cheesy, unconscionable, dirty tricks pulled by the Democrats, election after election. While, at the same time, they hold the REAL AMERICANS (Republicans) to extra high standards they themselves are incapable of obtaining. Adhering to a double standard, naturally, only widens the gap between two sgments of society. These double standards must be disregarded to ever live in peace.

NRAlifer, stick to the facts...

...if you can tell what they are.

"Webb, on the other hand, has worked HARD to keep women out of the academies when he was the SecNav."

BS. You can not substantiate this claim. I suspect that in this instance, you're not ignorant of the facts, but rather lying your a$$ off.

"He was a whiner and when he didn't get his way, he QUIT!"

Do you even know the circumstances behind Webb's resignation? I didn't think so. Let me bring you up to speed a little.

The budget passed by Congress for FY89 called for a $33 billion reduction in DOD. SecDef Carlucci eventually settled on a $12 billion reduction in the Navy, which caused a reduction in the future size of the fleet, a reduction from a stated goal of the Reagan administration.

Webb disagreed publicly with the cuts, and had his senior Navy staff propose multiple alternatives for the required reductions. All of these alternatives were endorsed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Carlucci chose not to accept them. And so, having lost confidence in the SecDef, and being unable to support his decision, Webb resigned.

If he was on your side politically, you'd be defending his action as principled. What a hypocrite you are.

"Never mind working for change WITHIN the system, he just quit. Walked away. Took his ball and went home. Yelled Uncle."

I mean, what an ignorant hypocrite you are.
