Why is Valerie so Plame silly?

Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

The news came swiftly Thursday afternoon. Now that Robert Novak had finally revealed one last secret in the ever-fraudulent story about Valerie Plame's identity being leaked - we could put it all behind us and promise never to mention it again right?

No. For some strange reason, specifically sycophantic vanity, Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson have filed a lawsuit against Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, and Scooter Libby.

Their stated reason?

Specifically to accuse, "Cheney, Rove and I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby of participating in a 'whispering campaign' to reveal Plame's CIA identity and punish Wilson for criticizing the Bush administration's motives in Iraq."

Never mind the fact that like an annoying little gnat at the family picnic Wilson's criticisms were swept away with complete mockery because he knew not what he was talking about. You do remember don't you? President Bush goes on national television for his state of the union and refers to uranium that Saddam was seeking in "Africa"?

Wilson had visited Niger and assumed that the President must have been referring only to him and he lines up with Andrea Mitchell the following Sunday on Meet the Press to talk about how many mint juleps he had consumed instead of looking for the uranium. Of course this translates into Wilson's mind as absolute proof that there is no uranium and he returns home to say so.

By the way - the British Intelligence stands by their information - to this day - that demonstrates that Iraq was actively seeking uranium.

See the whole idea of the administration getting "even" with Wilson means that Wilson had to have actually been in some way a threat to the administration. And as much as he'd like to believe so - he never was.

So then comes the preposterous account of Plame - Wilson's wife who respected him so much she wouldn't take his name - and her being "outed" as a CIA spy - some six years after she was in such a position. No law was broken, and the independent council has agreed.

But even that was a joke because here this vanity couple was out posing for magazine shots, and getting their names everywhere on the Democratic radar screen.

Look the facts are simple.

Wilson was an ideologue who wanted the assignment to go drink mint juleps in Niger so that he could purposefully stab the administration through the heart.

He failed.

Plame-Wilson get angry that they get no traction on the issue and decide to become a royal circus around the beltway and across the media of America. But whose fault is that? They weren't asking Karl Rove who should have played Valerie Plame in the made for T.V. movie.

If any criminal conviction comes out of the matter, and it is looking less likely that there will be, it will be because Scooter Libby might not have said the right thing at the right time. But there was no evidence, not one scintilla, that Rove or Cheney did anything other than to casually acknowledge what Robert Novak had already revealed to them.

But typical to form, the single most attention hungry couple in America - and trust me to beat Bill and Hillary in that department is saying something - the Wilson-Plames are now off to civil court to get cold hard cash for the possible "destruction of her career."

Did I miss something? Did Valerie get fired at the CIA? And since she wasn't active or covert - how exactly did any in justice take place?

Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame need to be flicked off the shoulder of America like the little gnats that they are. They need to regain a certain amount of personal dignity before speaking ever again. But what is completely sad is that they are so unaware of how silly and foolish they look that they just keep on going.

With the middle east exploding into war, with the U.S. engaged in its most serious fight against tyranny since the great war, wouldn't it be very patriotic of the judge in the civil matter to not just throw the Wilson-Plame suit out - but exile them to Lebanon? At least from that vantage point they could finally see what honorable resolve looks like as Israel does what is necessary to take care of business.

But I doubt we will be so fortunate...

Plame/Wilson
I feel embarassed just listening to them.
They have no shame.

Plame/Wilson
No Evidence? I suspect that there is something, somewhere.

I also suspect that if the shoe were on your foot, you would be sceaming bllody murder.

That Wilson/Plame are making a specticle of themselves is your conclusion. It does not necessarily hold that everyone holds your opinion. I, for one, do not. But, I am also not in the "rah-rah" section, either.

Plame/Wilson histrionics
I love the idea of exiling them to Lebanon. Joe is undoubtedly familiar with the area, with his business interests in the M.E.

What is Pearlie talking about?
"Uncle Joe" has been dead for a long time--but not until after he murdered so many millions he made Hitler look like a Piker next to him.

Or are you not referring to your Uncle Joe Stalin, but the REAL bad guy to you lefties: Uncle Joe McCarthy, whose murder total stands at zero?

I am aware of your love affair with dictators like Stalin and Lenin, and the Pulitzer Prizes awarded to their apologists. I am further aware of the Democratic Party's complicity with Stalin in sealing the fate of millions of Eastern Europeans to die in the gulag archipelago.

Yet here come Plame and her stay-at-home husband, on a McCarthy-style witch hunt, lying all over the place in an attempt to destroy this nation's ability to defend itself, then seeking the heads of those who would challenge them.

And you think the Bush administration is after THEM? All that happened on the part of any Bush officials was a casual acknowledgement of Plame's role in getting this gig for her ne'er-do-well husband, who was not qualified for the post on the merits.

This was a take-our-husbands-to-work day gone bad. These people cooked up this whole enterprise with the sole goal of sharpening a stick to poke in Bush's eye. When they were so easily shot down, they further cooked up this obvious fraud of 'revealing a covert agent's identity' (she was not).

Barrels of ink have been spilled by the anti-Bush scribblers, trying to make it seem as though something bad was done by the Bushies, when the two obvious bad actors on this stage were Wilson and his not-so-covert wife.

Just how was it that Novak got her name, anyway? was it because Karl Rove spilled the beans and revealed her classified name to him? Oh yeah, Novak looked it up in 'Who's Who In America. Apparently she was hiding in plain sight.

Spot on, PearlGirl!
Lefties like BigGuy have to ignore all the evidence to the contrary so they can hold on to the hope that someday, somehow the evidence fairy will drop a magic nugget into the lap of the right (read: Bush Derangement Syndrome afflicted) prosecutor. Then the entire crooked administration will be frog-marched straight to the gas chamber and everyone will get cake and ice cream and lollipops and pony rides and Osama will apologize and he and Ted Kennedy will hug and everyone will get free health care and a puppy and two kittens.

Valerie who?
Two kittens and a dog? Things have really improved, Wingo, years ago the government promised '40 acres and a mule'. But that might suggest work. Two kittens and a dog sounds more...like sit back, smoke a cig and wait for your welfare check to come in the mail...if the postman is working today.

Valerie who...who?
Who was her handler? Maxwell Smart?

Plame/Wilson
I for one, will be absolutely delighted when those two are indicted and frog-marched out to the waiting FBI car, just as they wished for Karl Rove and Vice-President Cheney. I would also like to see them in a Federal prison cell as bunkmates to Aldrich Ames and the Walkers. That will be total vindication of what sane people have been saying all along. Oh by the way, Patrick Fitzgerald should be prosecuted along with them too.

Two Huge Egos
King Solomon said "Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall."

Plame has a case!
Yeah, but you see, Valerie was hoping to be named head of the CIA when Hillary became President. However, this kind of publicity is a kiss of death for a political appointment (remember Linda Tripp?). The problem is, she's after the wrong guys -- she should be filing suit against her husband.

Barnes and Ignoble
Isn't the Plame/Wilson frivolous lawsuit just a transparent PR stunt to flog their latest "blockbusters"? Media whoring for dollars and headlines sums up this dynamic (in their eyes only) duo.

Sometimes I think..
...this administration deserves such blackeyes for leaving these people i their positions for "compassionate conservatism." Remember how the Clintons cleaned house after being elected?

plame rymes with shame
which is something these two wing nuts have none of. bet the judge throws the suit out.

In a Few Words
Dem poster pundits. All the same. Strutting their pitiful stuff upon the stage and then disappearing into the dumpster filled with Democratic trask. Meanwhile, fodder du jour for the MSM. I wouldn't be surprised if this prize couple were paid to file the suit, or something very similar. The only question is, What kind of filthy lucre changes hands in the process - cash, dreams of "bringing down the Bush Party," Dem promises, narcissistic headlines... There are a lot of possible real and imaginary payoffs for such twits as these.

Fame
I think it has been said that some people, common, normal people, might get 15 minutes of fame in their lifetime...these people, as common as they are, have had more than their share. I guess you can get a ham sandwich indicted, but I doubt if you could get Rove, Cheney, or Libby indicted on these laughable charges drummed up by these insignificant people who are either stupid, or being duped by someone. If you are a gnat, don't try to soar like an eagle!

non story
This is now a dead non story but the MSM keeps churning them up to forward their true mission of administration change

FANTABULISTIC!
When did true Republicans or Conservatives become apologists for TREASON? Yes, that is what one toadie, R. Novak, should be charged with and accompanying him should be Karl Turd Blossom Rove, Dick Shotgun Cheney and Lewis Liar Libby. I for one do not condone treasonous acts - not by Republicans, Democrats, or anybody else. We are supposed to be AMERICANS above and beyond our political affiliations. If people in government take actions that result in outing an agent, and yes she was considered covert by the CIA, they no longer deserve to be drawing our tax dollars into their bank account. This whole episode is disgusting and so are the apologists. America doesn't gather her strength from conniving Chickenhawks. We ask better judgement from an E-1 in Iraq than the top-drawer civilian politicos in D.C. are capable of? What is wrong with this picture?

No Bub... PLAME WAS NOT COVERT...
Check the facts!

Who the heck is Plane?
Perhaps the question was is she or what was she? When this situation burst in MSM she was a covert agent. Then the investigation is lauched and we find out that she is/was an intelligence analyst. Then we find out that her husband was sent by the CIA on a mission. He says, apparently to rub GWB the wrong way, that Iraq did not seek yellow cake uranium in Nigeria. This is what we call in investigative parlance is proving a negative. Consider that when a country such as Iraq attempts to procures such an item it is more likely than not to be attempted through an off the books back channel. There is not likely to be anyone that will admit such an attempt or make a public record of it. Now we have Libby being charged with lying about a criminal offense that did not occur. Of course there is the legitimate question as to whether he lied or forgot a conversation. I guess the Special Prosecutor did not want to close his case without coming up with a defendant.

Who?
"Bub",

> When did true Republicans or Conservatives
> become apologists for TREASON?

Who's apologizing for Wilson/Plame's dishonesty, their failed attempt to sabotage public support for the War, and dare I say treason? Not Republicans. Just the Left.

Hey, bub, that was quite a rant
You managed to get every leftist Plame/Wilson talking point over the last three years into eight sentences. I wonder where the Plame saga will end up next - playboy centerfold? Movie: 'The Spy Who Came in From the Watercooler', Talk show circuit? Maybe they'll do county fairs?

Plame a spy? She couldn't deliver a reliable report on her neighbor's marital status. One thing Wilson/Plame did do - show how much the CIA has deteriorated and worthless it has become as an intellegence gathering outfit - due in no small part to the role the Dems played in severely restricting the type of operations and the people they may employ/contract with.

Plame/Wilson is a sad tribute to the legacy created by people who were really in harms way and died in the line of duty during WWII (OSS) and the Cold War - and at the hands of Ames (whose class Plame really belongs to).

Trying to equate the NYT with Rove is droll. If you believe your drivel, don't you think you're in the wrong neighborhood? Wouldn't you feel more comfortable and appreciated over at Kos? Isn't Leno already using your views for opening monologue material?

What's wrong with this picture? You're in it.

Why is Valerie so "plame" silly?
Yea...it's about time for Valerie and Joe to go on an extended honeymoon vacation to Timbucktoo and Patrick Fitzgerald can be their Love Pilot...

KT

Ok, there is a problem with your filters
Unless the word "bipartison" is the problem, I can't figure what I've said wrong in my repeated attempts at a post tonight!

Hey! I have an idea, and speaking of "Who?"....

Would someone or some blogger post a pic of the "Who's Who in America" entry of Joe Wilson's that lists "Valerie Plame" as his wife? (as Novak said he looked up to confirm this "confidential" info)

Go to the library and take your digital camera.

Plz? We'd love to have it posted to the world. And while we're at it, does someone still have a cached copy of Wilson's website that listed Plame?

plame/wilson
webster's dictionary needs to be revised, so that when you look up the word "liar" that the definition is "joe wilson " .

Liar defined...
...William Jefferson Blythe Clinton.

Wilson committed the act of Clintoning.

Wilson lied through his teeth

Just a few problems with what Blanoc wrote.

http://www.fas.org/irp/congress/2004_rpt/ssci_iraq.pdf

Start reading on page 39.

As the bottom of page 42 the “former ambassador” (Joe Wilson) concluded that a sale to Iraq was unlikely even though “some officials may have conspired for individual gain to arrange a uranium sale”.

At the bottom of page 43 Joe Wilson informed the CIA that the former Prime minister of Niger, Ibrahim Mayaki, revealed that in 1999 he met with an Iraqi trade delegation to discuss uranium yellow cake sales. Although Wilson’s cursory “investigation” (if you can call attending dinner parties an investigation) revealed no formal sales to Iraq it gives every indication that Iraq was searching the world markets to buy uranium in violation of UN sanctions.

These attempts to buy yellow cake are in direct contradition to Joe Wilson’s claim in “What I didn’t find in Africa”.

On page 41 it is revealed that Wilson was given an operational security clearance of “secret” but was not required to sign a confidentiality agreement or a non-disclosure agreement. This was in direct violation of CIA policy, and is why Wilson is not sitting a cell for openly discussing state secrets on the editorial page of the NY Times.

If the Bush Adm was really out to "get" Wilson - why not just go the easy route and reveal him for the liar he obviously is? All they had to do was make public the details of Wilson's report that he had already splashed across the New York Times. If anyone wonders about Wilson's current stature in the political arena one need only consider this; when John Kerry makes an effort to distance himself from an individual the stink must really be bad. What burns the wild-eyed Kool-Aid drinking liberal’s buts is that everything revealed in the "whisper campaign" (or investigative reporting that so many know nothing about) is true and everything Wilson claimed was false.

If Plame and Wilson can prove that Rove, Cheney and Scooter created the situation that aided them in writing Wilson's "tell all" book won't that give Cheney and company grounds to sue for their share of the profits?

Mint juleps?
Say, Kev, you ever been to Niger? I don't think that anyone would call a trip there a "plum assignment."

Plame/Wilson
May God have mercy on our country if our CIA is full of Valerie Plames.

Yeah, no question about this one
If the Clinton administration outed a CIA operative, as well it would have (Washington's a cesspool no matter who's in charge), this site would be screaming at the indignity, the disrespect to America, the breach of patriotic responsibility!

Then again, this site has such entertaining fraudulence.

Plame/Wilson
I grant the writer's observation that these are, at least publicly, shallow, self-aggrandizing people who would undermine our collective security just for an extra head shot in their "Architectural Digest" cover piece. That said, the article was relatively thin stuff. There is more concrete information on which to base his (generally correct) conclusions, but without the presentation of hard info, what we are left with is invective and innuendo, and we will never convince the liberals in our lives of the rightness of our positions by acting like little Ann Coulters. Many wars have been lost by those who won more battles. This piece is written for the choir; we need more evangelization through reason, not more monodimensional "amens!".
