Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

What The Washington Post does not say, but what FOX News points out is that this cruel decision by the Obama administration to cut off poor children in Washington, D.C. comes at the very time this administration is giving $900 million to Gaza. There, in what some call the Palestinian territories, parents fired guns in the air to celebrate when America was attacked on 9/11. There, parents gave children candy to celebrate the 3,000 American deaths that occurred on that terrible day. There, parents attend school programs where little children dance and sing—while dressed as suicide bombers! This is not your mother’s PTA!

Secretary Hillary Clinton has tried to reassure us that our $900 million will go to “rebuild Gaza” and for “humanitarian purposes.” We have seen how Hamas—the terrorist group that controls Gaza—uses “hospitals” to store weapons and “ambulances” to re-supply rocket launch teams.

It’s hard to see how Members of Congress and this administration can justify cutting off American kids—while helping those who in Gaza who hate America.

I would like to see a listing of the senators who voted down D.C. Opportunity Scholarships while voting to send our money to the Gaza Strip. That list, at least, would provide us all an education.

To Cad Man
Thank you, Sir, for sharing your interesting idea. I like it. It would be nice if it is applied to most of students.
The fact of life is that some students, even with this kind of motivation (or any other), will have limited understanding of complicated sentences. The book “Real Education” by Ch. Murray (see my previous posts) contains good examples of that (quite sad) story. We should better not push those students to college. They can live sense- and dignity-filled life, working in crafts and in other less intellectually demanding jobs, gaining much larger respect form their loved ones and form society.
Yours truly, F.r.

Re: Florida resident

Some time ago I broached an idea to a retired teacher and she seemed to like it: in English class on the first day bring in a savings pass book, a credit card slip or the info sheet that spells out the requirements and ask the class to interpret the rules. The idea is that if they don't learn English and learn it well they won't have a clue as to what the legal language is saying and they may as well hand over their wallets to the credit card company or the bank because it won't belong to them for very long. Also, since credit card companies really are "out to get you" that should be extra incentive to study thoroughly and ask whatever questions they think necessary.

If the pupils don't learn their English well then they will never begin to understand ballot issues that are more than likely to have deceptive titles.
