Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Even with Hillary Clinton’s wide margin win in the West Virginia primary, Barack Obama will be the Democrat standard bearer in November. However, Democrats may well have buyer’s remorse. Their rush to nominate Mr. Obama, the least vetted presidential candidate in memory, will likely cost them the fall election. The voters, who many believe, Mr. Obama needs for victory in November are trending to John McCain. Obviously, Team Obama is looking at a different trail to the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.

West Virginia is thought of as a reliably Democrat state. Democrat Governor Joe Manchin won office in a massive landslide, and both U.S. senators—Robert Byrd and Jay Rockefeller—are completely safe as Democrat incumbents.

Historically, West Virginia’s politics has turned on two things: unions and culture. While the former usually controls electoral outcomes there, the later will likely deliver the state’s Electoral College votes to John McCain, as it did for George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004.

West Virginia’s economy is dominated by coal-mining and other blue-collar, labor intensive industry. Unions dominate the state’s labor scene, and have made West Virginia a Democrat stronghold for most of the last 108 years.

But the second factor, traditional culture, has two aspects in particular that have made West Virginia a purple swing state in modern presidential elections.

Many West Virginians live in small towns, and are at least moderately religious. With this comes a belief in traditional marriage, commitment to family and a heavy dose of national pride.

Patriotism runs deep in the Mountain State. Nothing speaks more to the West Virginian focus on heritage than their commitment to Second Amendment freedoms. West Virginia is gun country, as are all the states along the Appalachian Trail, where the NRA is strong and the Second Amendment is revered. Democrats are very successful in West Virginia, but almost without exception those Democrats make clear to voters their pledge to fight and protect for the right to keep and bear arms.

In the past two presidential elections those cultural issues drove West Virginia to vote for George W. Bush. Al Gore did not hide his anti-gun credentials in 2000, and lost the state to Mr. Bush by six points. John Kerry similarly did not disavow his anti-gun record in 2004, and added to it his refusal to support traditional marriage. He lost the state to President Bush by 13 points.

So how does Barack Obama respond to the clear challenge he has with white working class voters? He insults them and essentially writes them off. He tells them the Appalachian Trail is not his path to the White House. He tells his elite, wealthy financial supporters in San Francisco that such voters “cling” to guns and religion out of bitterness over their lack of economic prosperity. With statements reminiscent of Marx’s “opiate of the masses,” Mr. Obama suggests guns and religion are the emotional crutches blue-collar workers need to cope with reality.

Consequently, Mr. Obama failed to connect with West Virginia voters. He drove many of them straight into Mrs. Clinton’s waiting arms, and he seems to be executing the same strategy in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. For him to lose these states by wide margins does not bode well for carrying them in the general election.

He has placed his electoral bet on other states and voter coalitions.

But this problem is larger than West Virginia and Kentucky. There are millions of similar voters in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and other states without which Mr. Obama cannot win the White House. And Mrs. Clinton has beaten Mr. Obama in every single one, often by wide margins.

Liberals and the writers of Saturday Night Live may say these voters will shun Mr. Obama because he is black and they are racist. Nonsense.

Just like high-minded liberals, these voters vote their values and priorities. In West Virginia, they overwhelming chose Mrs. Clinton because she didn’t write them off.

While some of those voters might go for Mr. Obama in the fall, many will not. If Mr. McCain can maintain an authentic contrast on faith, guns and patriotism, he will get more of these Democrat voters than Mr. Obama would like.

So as Mr. Obama panders to elitists in his party, who attend high-ticket San Francisco fundraisers, he alienates millions of working class voters, particularly so-called Reagan Democrats.

In that sense, the way Mr. Obama lost the West Virginia primary could be a harbinger of a November defeat.

West Virginia Who?
Making an argument about the November election using West Virginia as a pivot point in an article is not convincing. WV sits next to Virginia which swamps WV's influence. If you think that racism wasn't a part of the election, how many blacks voted for Obamamama vs. Hitlery? Or is it just that everything from Obama is "free?" As far as McShame getting more votes than Obama, the Repubs will get killed in the 2008 election. My "compassionate conservative" Prez and his followers that include CFR McCain, want open borders and more free trade along with illegals that want the work that Americans will not do.

West Virginia is good news for the GOP
and McCain.

But losing to the Dems for that congressional seat in Mississippi...that was very bad news for the GOP.

McCain needs to focus his message a moderate conservative. Less cap and trade, less "comprehensive immigration reform." More comprehensive immigration enforcement and an emphasis on how we acheive victory in Iraq and Afghanistan, smaller government, less spending. A Bob Barr taking 5% or more of Mac's votes means Barack Obama as our next president with an unstoppable Dem congress.

McCain has a real chance
As an NRA member I'm going to be watching to see what McCain says at the NRA this Friday. I've never seen a presidential candidate who is as anti-gun as Obama, and it gives McCain a real chance to be pro-gun in comparison.

McCain has a good shot at the Presidency
For me, he clinches it if he picks the right VP - someone who is conservative, but not perceived as "mean" - maybe someone like Michael Steele?

At any rate, the Democrats seem to have a death wish. This was their year, with Bush unpopular, a downturn in the economy, etc,. yet the two candidates still in the running are Obama and Hillary. OK, so Hillary is not going to get the nomination, but the fact that she was a contender... both Obama and Hill are very liberal and have little experience, plus lots of baggage. If the Dems had picked a moderate Governor, they'd b coasting to the election.

As it is, I think there is a good chance they will pull defeat out of the jaws of victory and give the White House to the GOP.

Why Republicans continue to lose
Want to know why you guys lost another Republican stronghold seat yesterday?

It's because informed voters knows that the right wing pundits like Blackwell are pathological liars.

I doubt any of you would know this if I didn't post it because the right wing media would never print it, but this is what Obama said at a private fundraiser just hours before the "bittergate 2008!" comments.

"We need sensible gun laws," said the Senator. "I just got back from Montana where just about everyone has guns. In that culture, fathers and sons bond over hunting. You can't take that away from rural America. But the inner city is different, and we should tighten the laws on gun purchases and close the loopholes in gun show sales to unscrupulous buyers. The gun control people and the right to bear arms people are talking past each other about disconnected topics."

That's how Obama genuinely feels about guns and rural gun owners.

But Blackwell, even if he knew this, would just continue to pound away at the awkwardly phrased comments at the other SF fundraiser.

The point is that truth doesn't matter to Republican pundits. All that matters to them is what they can get away with saying.

Keep it up Blackwell. The GOP brand is becoming intimately connected with the term "liar". And the more you lie, the less credible the brand becomes. Fine with me.

Phylo out.

Mr. Blackwell voices an obvious
possibility. But this whole election has been one fascinating possibility after another. The most important unknowns would seem to be at this point: Can Hillary somehow snatch the nom from Obom? If Oboma hangs in there, will the Hillary voters switch over to him? Will any third (fourth?) candidates arise? Will McCain's move left gain him more votes than he loses on the right? Since these questions won't be resolved until the voting booth, its a crap shoot. All puns intended. :-D

West Virginia's shadow.

Ken Blackwell is right. W.V. shows the writing on the wall, and it is unmistakable.

As things stand today, if Obama does not make real and significant inroads into this large and important voting sector... it is simply over for him.

Unfortunately for the Dem leadership, turning their backs on Obama at this late stage... would be the equivalent to political suicide.

The GOP will most certainly loose more seats in both houses of Congress. McCain, though, should win comfortably.

But then in politics, 5-6 months can be a life-time.

It was always a gamble
If Obama secures the dem nomination it would have to be classified as a huge, huge upset. Basically, every other dem candidate, not just Hilary Clinton, was far better known and more experienced than he was when the primaries began. Nominating Obama was always a gamble, and when you gamble you may lose.

Nice Restatement, Phylo
Phylo, you wrote:

"But Blackwell, even if he knew this, would just continue to pound away at the awkwardly phrased comments at the other SF fundraiser."

The San Francisco comments went FAR beyond guns. Obama was responding to a question about why he wasn't doing so well in Pennsylvania. He didn't think he was on the record (he should be a little smarter), and his comments are a window
into his soul. That you dismiss them as "awkwardly phrased comments" are absurd. In effect, he dropped his drawers and took a dump on all members in a small-town communities in the Midwest (he wasn't smart enough to limit his remarks to Pennsylvania). Because his background and resume are so slim, he'll have to live with being defined by these remarks.

Don't tell me that he "misspoke." He was speaking from the heart, so now we know where his heart is. I'm from a metropolitan area in Ohio, and I'm well educated. But I don't buy his message, and I think he's full of it. He should got back to community activism--whatever that is.

TeeHall writes from FLA .
Teahall You don't know Jack about my beloved VA of 64 years .. where I have lived much of my life after my 6 years in the USMC .
First off VA has a huge White Blue Collar Middle class .
Having a far Left Liberal Governor Tim Kaine(we don' like ) who said when he was running for GOV. he would not raise Taxes .
WHAT A LIER . He has tried to raise taxes on 17 issues and increased fee's on everything possible . Now he wants even higher home taxes Cars , Trucks but the Repub's that control the senate say NO NO NO ! Since 80 % all the money would go to Northern VA where the Liberals live .
Omoba votes come from Blacks , Foreigners and stupid College kids and their dumber professors when he ran against Hillary no one likes here. I know and I live right in the middle of awesome and very beautiful race horse country 75 miles from DC and 20 miles from Richmond .
Remember VA choice Bush twice against HIGH TAXERS AL GORE AND JOHN KERRY ...... YOUR BOY OBOMA PROMISES HIGHER TAXES .
America is 70 % white middle class and Blue Collar and not one middle class AMERICAN wants higher taxes .Plus they want us to drill for our own oil and stop the Corn for Energy B/S !
Mc Cain would lose against a John Kennedy in a LANDSLIDE but not against a far left Socialist like Oboma . The Elites are ready for Socialism as are Blacks but not old 70 % of America Whitey isn't !

Obama my lose Illinois
When America Fines more truth on why Jesse Sr. and Sharpten are keeping there mouth shut the chicago machine and Obama has promised jesse jr. seat in the us senate if he wins

Obamamania
This mania may well become a description of a superficial or irrational mindset that seeks "change" at any cost without considering the consequences, or as my old professor said by applying the 3 T's: think things through.
"Change" is the new mantra of Obama's followers, largely socialists, liberals and idealists who fail to understand that it is a two-edged sword: it may also turn out to be for the worse, economically and politically for them and this nation, meaning even higher gas/food prices, taxes and a lower standard of living.
What we need is a true change, best expressed by the political sage, Newt Gingrich, in the opposite direction envisioned by Obama, meaning away from socialism and big government in the spirit of JFK: Ask not what the country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country, or in the "dream" of MLK paraphrased as: Some day we ALL (ethnic groups or races) will be judged not by the color of our skin, but by the strength of our CHARACTER.
Looking at daily news reports of anti-American, not merely un-American activities, and rampant violence, we ar far from achieving these two commendable quotes.
hr

WV tells it like it is
Obama must be using a crying towel this morning. Hillary is right to ask which is the more likely candidate to win in November. She is and I agree.

Saw the headline at Drudge about libs encouraging Hillary to run on different ticket. That would make this whole election even more interesting.

As McCain continues in the Bill Clinton tradition of moving to the middle and Obama continues to try and find a clue, McCain will win big in November. Headlines following election:
"America is Racist"
(second line)
"McCain elected"

You libs will talk about racism longer than you talked about the stolen election of 2000.

Hang in there.

Mississippi's Elections Had More to Do..
with John McCain than the Republicans want to admit. I voted and spoke to over 30 Conservative people who did not vote yesterday.

The reason most given for why they didn't vote: "The Republican Party left me, why should I come back?"

But during the presendential election this year, I do not expect this to translate into votes for Obama. Mississippians are fairly conservative; I doubt if they will look at Obama and see the candidate of their dreams. Instead they will see the candidate of their nightmares.

Palestinians for Obama????
Take a look at my blog (punch my name above). It is true, Palestinians are calling the USA before each primary to push support for Obama.

Go for best entertainment value.
I am voting for Hillary in November. I am 100% conservative. Obama has opened my eyes to Black Liberation Theology. Which may now make me prejudiced. He is a snob and a liar. There is no hope in Obama. Although McCain was a war hero he turned against his first wife and he has turned against the Conservatives in his Party. I will not vote for a man that lacks character. Now Hillary will not accomplish anything and that is good. The only thing we can have hope for in this election is that they all quit or that Bill will be extremely entertaining for the next 8 years. Unless Hillary dumps him. And we can also look forward to extreme cat fights between Nancy and Hillary. Meow!!!

a great year to be a liberal
as blackwell pointed out, west virgina has not voted democrat since bill clinton.

obama will solidfy african-american vote for decades to come.
he will win 60% of the hispanic vote and 50% of the suburban vote.
young people and the unions will do the gotv (get out the vote) campaign.

not a bad coalition.

the democrats will enlarge their majority in both houses and probably end up veto proof.

barr will take some of the conservative base.

but even then,

if my predictions are wrong, we will have the most liberal republican in years in office.
and he is a environmentalist to boot.

all in all a rosy scenario as far as i am conserned.

McLame isn't going to win.
Sorry Ken, it just "ain't gonna happen".
With Barr in with the Libratarians he could well pull in double digits. Even with the Dems who won't vote for the offered (D) and cross over to McLame (Dem not-so-lite), more Conservatives will either 1)vote for Barr, 2)write in a conserviative, 3)vote only "down ticket", or 4) sit it all out.
Regardless, when you add up all the non-McLame votes, it will be a (D) in the White House.

BTW I am
taking option 1)

usmc (ret)
barr is an interesting character.

first, didn't he have some mistress issues during the 90's.

he was one of the few conservatives who opposed the patriot act and subsequent acts by bush that have whittled away at our individual liberity's.

so there is good and bad there.

just my opinion.

I keep wondering...
exactly what individual rights has Bush taken from us? The right to carry a bomb onto a jetliner?

PHYLO's SLUR
I find it interesting that as a rule when Conservatives debate, they stick to ideas and facts. Whereas when Leftists like Phylo enter the discussion, they seem to be limited to flaming rants and insults. Mr. Plylo, you called Ken Blackwell and the rest of us liars without offering one solid fact to back up your rant. I guess if you have the MSM to act as your PR machine, you don't need facts or a coherent argument. Rather you bring to fore the famous quote from a hero of yours, Lenin. "A lie told one thousand times becomes the truth" It looks like you need to call us liars another 999 times for it to take.

Kenneth Randall

OBAMA IS A VERY STUPID GAMBLE!!!
I WONT BE SHY TO SAY IT...

PRESS ON HILLARY CLINTON

she most definitely should...i agree 100% REV WRIGHT was bigger then anybody is saying...that along with obamas elitas/bitter comments, ayers, his lack of patriotism, his angry racist wife and obama doesnt even get it still that those associations are unexceptable to most and moreso to white people....

forget iowa, kansas etc...because if those primaries were today he would never win....

SUPERDELEGATES REALLY NEED TO USE THEIR BRAINS INSTEAD OF WHATEVER IT IS THEY ARE USING RIGHT NOW...DONT THEY GET IT YET? OBAMA IS DAMAGED AND ONCE THIS GENERAL ELECTION COMES THEY ARE GOING TO BE VERY SORRY WHEN MCCAIN JUST CLOSES HIM OUT EVERYWHERE!

MOST WHITE PEOPLE WILL NOT VOTE FOR THAT MAN!

powerful arguments

I see some powerful arguments here on the Right. They'll mean nothing come November. Some of the usual boilerplate from the Left, too.

But somehow the writing's on the wall and nobody reads it in May.

Obama came a cropper at last; even before a single public debate against the Senator from Arizona. He'll have to stand the gaff when they meet. Obama is unmarketable from the start, being nothing but a socialist tool of Teddy Kennedy's who happened to be African American.

If Hillary had been the candidate her own Clinton baggage would have become the laughing stock of cable TV news; so she was a fool to even start her campaign. It doesn't matter; Democrats have nowhere to turn.

McCain is our next President.

Naturally, all fence-huggers will taunt me for saying it; but enough of them will vote for any alternative anyplace; from hell even; rather than accept the Mad Bomber's pal from Chicago.

Dear Marine from Ohio
USMC, Hail, Victory !

Voting for Barr? Let's just say you'll be shooting blanks at Obama-San. Barr is another Ross Perot, but without the walking-around money Ross could flash.

OK; it's a free country. I see no problem voting for McCain. He also fought for our blessed flag. He'll never disgrace his country.

Buyer's Remorse
Mr. Blackwell writes: "Obama will be the Democrat standard bearer in November. However, Democrats may well have buyer’s remorse."

Also known as What Were We Thinking Syndrome. And that's the perennial problems with Democrats: they don't.

Think, that is. They emote. They swoon. They prance around in narcissistic displays of self-congratulation, approaching the nomination process much as a child picks a favorite cartoon character. And they end up with the likes of Gore, Kerry and Obama. (And don't forget how close they came four years ago to selecting borderline psychopath Howard Dean).

It all makes for great entertainment, though.

dreadnaught
I had more than a few friends who voted Perot. Had than man been more tan an empty head with a big mought I might have been tempted as well. The reasoning of those were "It can't get any worse."
My reasoning is that it will be worse with McLame than with either of the (D)s - if we get conservatives in congress. With McLame they will go along to get along, and we'll be screwed. With true conservatives - they will fight the same stupid ideas the (R)s would cave on to McLame.
I don't know that I agree on McLame and disgrasing the country....look at his Glo-bull Warming tripe from yesterday.

The Big Question for Dems is..
If Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004 did NOT win a single southern or midwestern state as white liberal democrats, HOW in the heck is
BLACK liberal democrat Barack Obama going to do so?

Dear Marine from Ohio
So, what happened is, Perot was a non-starter on account of his insanity?

Sure. He queeired the deal for or party's candidate; who wasn't any better actually than McCain is. We were stuck with the Arkansas Babbler and his hippy wife & kid for 8 years; because people like the friends you're talking about shot blanks at old man Bush. You look like you'll survive Obama; being a Marine. Go ahead; waste your trouble and vote on Barr.

When he pulls our troops out of Iraq, blame Barr. When we get us selves two new ultra-leftist Supremes courtesy of Obamsie, blame Barr. When taxes pick up steam and Rev Wright sleeps in the Lincoln bedroom, courtesy of his protege, blame Barr.

Oh, wait. No-- You'll blame Global Warming who made you forget Semper Fi. FINE!

Phylo
So he made a statement at a fundraiser, then he made another statement (a bit cruder) later on in the day at another one.
What's your point?
You're really grasping at straws when you have to spend your day explaining what a man means...especially one who's supposedly so eloquent!
ha.

dreadnaught
Good points to USMCRet.
Add to that: your brothers in arms will have to salute this guy, who won't even instinctively salute the flag.
He has sworn to draw down america's military, and look to the UN and NATO should "needs arise".
Does that pass muster?
Really want to throw votes his way?

Glee in November
When all the far lefty libs are crying because their weak unvetted candidate gets creamed by McCain.
And I'm a Hillary supporter!

You R so Right, Sunthe1

What's unimagineable to me is Semper Fi, Marine's motto, stands for Ever Loyal; stick to the finish. Never quit.

To flame out because our man won't kow-tow to some fence-huggers is a shame. Mind; this is a man who suffered real pain in the Hanoi Hilton. If anybody ought to see McCain as a brother, it should be this Marine.

Ironic
that the state where the ex-Grand Wizard of the KKK is the senior Democrat Senator, is the state where Oblama got wiped out.

Loyalty to what?
I don't understand this call to get behind McCain just because he is the Republican presumed nominee. That implies that loyalty to the party trumps everything, including loyalty to the American Ideal.

Only in Communist countries is party loyalty paramount. Here in the US, you vote for the person, not the party, rubberstamping whatever the party leaders say you should.

Induced Infants Liability Act
Have any of you heard of Illinois's Induced Infants Liability Act? Barry orchestrated the defeat of that bill. It had already cost him Pennsylvania.

OBAMA HASNT EVEN PAID DUES BUT BE BLACK!
last time i checked nobody has reached the magic number so i guess hes entitled to the nomination now because of AFFIRMATIVE ACTION not to mention a soon to be brokered election! oh dont let me forget not even the appropriate amount of states to actually win it the normal way! geez!!

i mean come on!! this is for the president of the united states and we are just going to give it to him because he's black? is everybody so afraid to admit this? they have treated obama like a 4 year old son wrapped in a blanket with a sign on him saying "DONT BE MEAN TO OUR SON"!!

this man hasnt won this nomonation yet end of story! infact he's not even the strongest candadate either...

it wouldnt be so bad but just because he's black doesnt mean he should just get this..i hope hillary fights this to the convention and tears the whole democratic party apart!! why not hes trying to make a new democratic party himself why shouldnt she then?

obama wants to be president so he expects everybody to just give it to him without him having to pay his dues?

LIKE I SAID "HES BLACK" WERE GIVING IT TO HIM BY NO OTHER THEN "AFFIRMATIVE ACTION"

Affirmative Action by Intimidation
The truth is that the DNC leadership is mortally afraid of throwing Oblama under the bus; for they will be called racists, and they fear race riots at the Convention and other cities.

Let's hope so
With the likes of Wright, Ayers, Rezko, Michelle, Farrakan and all the other nut cases surrounding Obama, one can only imagine what sort of political appointments he would make. Talk about the cringe factor..........

Let's hope that Barack is creamed in November and that the Libs have #%@* their own mess kit.

MORE FREE ADVICE
I'd better stop this advice stuff else God-forbid Obama win in Nov. But here goes.

Millions of white Americans like myself don't really care if Obama ignores us.

But come November, Obama BETTER care that millions of white Americans will ignore him.

Obama -> Cult
Obama in his self assumed role as 'messiah' and the 'Obamaites' who dutifully worship him
all exhibit the properties of a cult.

Obamaites shout I love you and Obama shouts back, I love you too.

Obamaites faint in his prescence 'slain in the spirit' of the prophetic words he espouses.

Obamaites have sensual experiences - 'shivers' in their extremities and 'orgasmic' feelings in his prescence.

Obamaites chant until exhaustion "Yes We Can" and have cultic visions of 'Hope' and 'Change'.

One wonders when Obama will reveal the 'Mother Wheel' of Farrakhan and all the 'little wheels'.

WoW!

Obama just doesn't get it (wantabe)
If Obamba thinks he can convince America he can relate to blue collar America by wearing a FLAG PIN

and doing promo photos drinking beer in a GLASS, with a shiny faggy bracelot on and his pinky extended in the air with each drink,

while wearing chic GQ clothes, and then putting out ads calling himself “american chirstian” when every evangelical knows Christians don’t promote ABORTION, especially LIVE BIRTH ABORTION and even worse he put out a bill that would prevent any medical intervention to a full-term baby that miraculously lived through an abortion, leaving it to die on the gurney…

THIS JUST SHOWS HOW REALLY COMPLETELY OUT OF TOUCH OBAMA IS WITH BLUE COLLAR WORKERS OF ANY COLOR—ESPECIALLY REAGAN DEMOCRATS.

He's also so out of touch that he doesn’t get that evangelicals will actually see that ploy as pretty perverse now, holding abortion views while calling himself American Christian.

It’s almost laughable.

Sort of reminds me how Vanilla Ice tried to pawn himself off as a hardcore rapper, totally see-through and ridiculous.

NICE TRY, BUT WHAT A JOKE.

You ever heard about a word called “wantabe?”
Obamawantabe

P.S. and about the wife (Michelle Obama)
and if Obamba's lame act isn't enough: how 'bout the wife?

If the Obama campaign didn't consider Michelle Obama’s inner thoughts of this thesis being revealed a liability, then why did she have access to the thesis blocked at the Princeton website until November 8th…a few days AFTER the national Presidential election on November 4th??? BUT thanks to DontVoteObama.com we now have the photocopies of it HERE!

READ IT FOR YOURSELF:

MICHELLE OBAMA THESIS PART 4:

Michelle Obama not only separates whites and blacks in society, but she elevates blacks over whites in her world. "There is no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize all of my present and future resources to benefit the black community first and foremost". As First Lady, she would have numerous resources to reach this goal. Again, not exactly "first lady" material!

THIS WOMAN IS NOT 1ST LADY MATERIAL !

Phylo
"We need sensible gun laws," said the Senator. "I just got back from Montana where just about everyone has guns. In that culture, fathers and sons bond over hunting. You can't take that away from rural America."

-------------
You don't get it, and neither does Oblama - the Second Amendment has absolutely nothing to do with guns for hunting. Many other countries allow citizens to have guns for hunting purposes (strictly regulated), but they don't have their version of the Second Amendment.

The Second Amendment is a check on the government - an armed citizenry who aren't occupied with hunting pose a constant reminder to the government where the true power resides.

Don't be too sure before you look at ...
the numbers.

In order to beat McCain, all Obama has to "swing" are two states. He simply has to keep the blue states blue, and all but New Hampshire have been blue the last two elections.

He can move Iowa and Missouri from red to blue and he's got 270 electoral votes.

Or he could pull either Ohio or Florida by themselves and he wouldn't have to worry about any other states.

Look at the current atmosphere objectively.

- Recent Republican losses in special elections
- Massive increase in Democratic voter registrations
- The Democratic National Committee has 6 times more money than the Republican National Committee (partly since one of their own was embezzling from them)
- Obama has out raised McCain by 3 to 1

It's conceivable that Obama can put the Carolinas, Virginia and maybe even Mississippi and Louisiana in play.

This election is going to be a whole lot of fun.

You can talk all you want about Whitey won't do vote for a black man. Well riddle me this then. Obama has set a record for money raised in an election. He has over 1.5 million donors He has a bigger campaign staff than anyone in the history of elections and a volunteer core that is absolutely unprecedented. If he is so "hated" then where are all these people coming from?

Face it, the country is ready for a change and they've already proved it in the primaries.

A House Divided Falls
The Democratic Party is divided. They may come together on the surface, but to think Hillary can convince her supporters to vote for Obama because she says "we need to beat McCain" is ridiculous! They're not stupid. They known she doesn't believe in Obama.

The average person in the US isn't a politician. They're not political columnists, either. They're regular citizens - going to work and living their lives from one day to the next.

They don't have any vested interests in the Democratic or Republican Party.

They'll vote for someone they feel comfortable and will jump party lines to do so.

The majority of Hillary supports will either back McCain or not vote at all because they're not comfortable at all with Obama. Obama's already losing ground with public opinion and having to continuously defend his positions and the general election hasn't even happened yet.

The carefully crafted Obama image that stole the show from Hillary Clinton many months ago is long, long gone. And there's not a strategist alive that's going to be able to repair it by November.

An opportunity to bury the radical left
There's an opportunity in November to bury the radical left once and for all. The Clintons are centrists, which is why the radical left MoveOn hate them and back Obama. Since the ultra-left Dems have disowned the Clintons, they have also disowned the two Clinton victories. Centrist Dems voters want nothing to do with the radical left, so we're up for grabs for McCain. Let's run their losing streak to 50 years, a half-century of defeat! It will be the death knell for the ultra-left when McCain wins.

experience
i am quite sure should mr. obama become the nominee and wins the presidency otus; he will have some of the best people in his cabinet, to advise him on all matters. i think for the past 7+ years we have seen what "experience or obstinence " has resulted in. bush was governor of texas, did that make him an expert on world affairs, evidently not. he even had some of his dad's past cabinet, they did not advise him wisely, and only had their self interests at heart and screwed the average people and even had the nerve to say "so"? let's give the elections a chance, whoever the next person to get elected, i'm sure they will certainly be an improvement over what has happened so far. i am a republican, catholic, retired military, and will not be voting that this time around. do not under estimate the powers of new ideas. i am sure we will have leaders who will take responsibility for the faux paux the commit. i am looking forward to november, and a new chain of command.i even hope there will be some aisle crossing. a lot of hard core conservatives really do not want mccain, but he has proved them wrong. he does not have to kiss anyone of their rings as i see it. happy days are coming soon.

I DONT VOTE FOR CLOWNS LIKE OBAMA!
IM THE VOTE THAT IS OBAMA'S NIGHTMARE!

im not sure how many people would actually vote against their party but im one who will once november comes.

you see for me its not just a matter of being mad and i will come back to the party come november. im the vote obama is having difficulty getting! infact im baffled as to why HILLARY would want us to still vote for obama if she loses. why is she even saying stuff like that? are you kidding me?

you might think.."well thats what shes got to say" and im here to say "no she doesnt" how can we vote for a man that sickens us? thats the question i have for HILLARY! im glad shes fighting till the end but the seoond i hear her say to back obama is the day i stop for her!

i mean she says to keep it democratic no matter what happens. how can she even say anything like that? i surely wouldnt if i was running against him! for goodness sake he to me is satan and keeps insisting he's a christian infact he tries to emphasize that every day! what christian do you know who daily stresses they are a christian! i truly mean it people that man is nothing short of SCUM!

didnt hillary get the memo? OBAMA isnt a democrat? he's just a person who flows wherever he thinks he should be to get to the top! i know you havent forgotten reverend wright now have you? thats what he did to him!

ALL OBAMA DID WAS COPY WHATEVER HILLARY SAID OR WHATEVER HILLARY DID UNTIL HE LEARNED THE GAME BETTER....

TRUE WORDS TOO! NOT ONLY AFFIRMATIVE ACTION HE ALSO WANTED ON THE JOB TRAINING AND NOW LOOKING FOR AN INTERNSHIP IN THE WHITE HOUSE!

ALOT OF YOU ARE SOME VERY BRAINLESS PEOPLE THAT FALL WHEN A SMOOTH TALKER IS TALKING TO YOU!!

VERY SAD!

obama: this is for chillers
what about all the brainless people who voted for that "wordsmith" george bush? were they just lemmings falling for a smooth talker? beats me!!!!!!!!

Boutte flounders fruitlessly.....
......by ending with "...our troops flounder fruitlessly in Bush's double quagmire...". What Planet is Boutte living on???

Here is a link on how our troops are "floundering" in Afghanistan.

Wont include a link on our "floundering" troops in Iraq because everyone knows we have kicked the Islamofascists a** there bigtime!

Another 12 year old dreamer.....
....is Bonnie in KY! lets see who will advise Obama "on all matters" of race and the future of our country if we dont put down all the whiteys? Rev. Jeremiah Wright? the Rev of the "KKK of A" America or " Not God bless America but G*d D*mn America"?

How about the "power of "NEW" ideas"? Karl Marx? Hitler? Bonnie...Obamas "new idea's" are found in the pages of Das Kapital and Mein Kampf!

You even admit that Obama will make "faux paux's" AND claim responsibility for them once he commits them. Well he hasn't taken responsibility for listening to 20 years of hate filled sermons from the Rev. Wright. He hasn't taken responsibility for his comments on the gun nuts who cling to religion in small towns. I won't go on because there are just too many other "faux paus" he has committed and NOT taken responsibility for.

Retired Texan in Slovakia

obama
this is for audux? i don't remember the characters you mentioned being on the podium with mr. obama during any debates. i must have been dreaming. george bush put us in a war of choice rather than a war of necessity or the welfare of our interests. no one is perfect that i recall at least us mortals. i've not heard obama preach hatred against this great country for which i served. show me where he has.

Obama, Hillary, McCain
How did we ever get to the point that this is the best group of candidates America has to offer??? What a disgrace.

BONNIE
i wouldnt know i wasnt dumb enough to vote for him and im not dumb enough to vote for obama either!

OBAMA? WHITE HOUSE? LORD HELP US ALL!
whats next he will probably want to "CHANGE" the name of the white house to the "BLACK HOUSE"!!

THATS HOW IGNORANT HE IS AND IF HE'S TOO SLICK TO ADMIT IT THEN IT WILL BE HIS RACIST WIFE MICHELLE TO DO IT!!

I MEAN AFTERALL, THEY SOCIALIZE WITH WHITE HATING PEOPLE!!

REV. WRIGHT!! DONT EVEN THINK WEVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT THAT RELATIONSHIP QUITE SO FAST EITHER!! IT MIGHT TAKES US 20 YEARS! "GET IT"!!

Bonnie, Let me help you out...
....but first its AUDAX, a Latin word, look it up....

Second, you were talking about "New Ideas", Ideas are not people on a platform honey! What I was saying is Obama has NO "NEW IDEAS", he only has "OLD IDEAS" wrapped in pretty new paper called "NEW IDEAS". AND those "NEW (OLD) IDEAS" are found in the writings of Marx and Herr Hitler, Not eecummings (or did the shift key break on your computer?)

Third, you said Obama would have wise advisers, wiser than Bushes! My question to you was would Rev. Wright be one of those "WISE" advisers?? Then quoted several of the Rev. Wrights "WISE" sayings.

Retired Texan in Slovakia

obama
audax, i doubt very much if rev. wright will be an advisor to any president. he stepped on his own tail when he performed at that press conference. besides, he's not running for office that i know of. do you think the catholic church is a "whore", is john mmcain getting the repub nomination because no one wants to be accused of age discrimination? 'xplain it to me dearie. you seem very emotional, are you a lib perhaps?

Blackwell
What a fool, in a dem race between two one will win one will lose, since whites went for Hil in WV, explain the notion that this is good for the GOP unless your saying that Whites in WV ARE RACIST and will only vote for a white canidate.

YOUARACIST for the next 4 years?
Do you want to stand by and watch Obama destroy the country because every White in the government is terrified of the screams of YOUARACIST! every time they dare do disagree with the Supreme Ruler of All?

Do you look forward to seeing Obama standing in the ruins of your childs school wringing his hands and wondering aloud how the terrorists could have lied to him, while two miles away another school blows sky high and nobody dares speak up because if you do, YOUARACIST?

Do you look forward to every single thing that happens in the world for the next 4 years to be examined solely as an issue of Racism?

Then vote for Obama.

Remember this: people like Obama do not want Equality. They want REVENGE.

Bonnie..
....Rev. Wright has been stepping on his own tail for 20 YEARS!!!!! Just because you haven't been paying attention for that long doesn't make it NOT true!

You were not talking about Rev Wright running for office, you were talking about the Oh-So-Wise-Advisers that Obama would have remember? The ones that were Oh-So_MUCH-Wiser than Bushes advisers.

Why would I think the catholic Church is a whore and what does that have to do whith Rev Wright the Oh-So-Wise adviser to Obama sayong "Not God Bless America but God Damn America"?

John McCain may be the RINO nominee because the State RINO oparties allowed Dems to vote for McCain. the Dems that thought he would be easy to beat (and they are probably right).

Its not emotion Dearie it's logic, something that you lack! (Aslo lacking is your good Catholic education when you mispell audax as audux!)

SILLY ME
OBAMA WILL DESTROY A COUNTRY THAT HAS BEEN DESTROYED FOR YEARS, TERRORIST WILL INVADE THE COUNTRY BECAUSE OBAMA IS THE PRESIDENT, WHATS NEXT OBAMA WILL ONLY WANT TO HOILDAYS NAMED AFTER BLACK PEOPLE, OBAMA, WILL ONLY WANT FRIED CHICKEN SERVED IN THE WHITE HOUSE, OBAMA WILL DOUBLE TAX WHITE PEOPLE ONLY

The Shame of America
I talked to a co-worker yesterday who made a very sad observation.

When our Constitution was first written, America had just about 3 million people, and yet we managed to produce people like Sam Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson just to name three out of the 55 delegates who framed our Constitution.

Today, America has 300 million people, and the best we can do for President of the United States is Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain.

How far the mighty have fallen.

Joe
"...Less cap and trade, less "comprehensive immigration reform." More comprehensive immigration enforcement..."

It will never happen. McCain is an elitist just like all his liberal buddies. Don't expect him to do anything or say anything that will tarnish his "progressive" label of which he is VERY proud.

O'Bummer's appalachia
I don't know where I fit. I'm a registered PA independent who changed to Democratic in our primary so I could vote for Ron Paul. I don't own a gun, but will immediately get one (maybe several) when they are declared illegal (you can get them at yard sales up here in NWPA.) O'Bummer? NAH! Clinton? WHICH ONE? Mc Cain? MAYBE. The fact of the matter is that the Bush-league presidency has left such a mess that it doesn't really matter. What we need to do is replace approx. 75% of the congress, beginning with those with the most tenure (they got us where we are, with our acquiescence). By the way, the dumbest boss I ever had was a Harvard MBA.

The Obama Gamble
Ideology of the left serves to blind people. They are trained to believe that a high education from the right prestige schools makes for success. I long for a candidate who is open enough to listen to the electorate. They might just be hit with the following:

People have a basic mistrust of big government.
Most of us understand that government spends far too much money.
Government has become so complicated that the average citizen is engulfed in beauracacy.
Most fail to uderstand why we are in bondage to foreigh oil.

And the list goes on and the far left doesn't get any of this.

Old back room Obama....
I have failed to here one of you `analysts' talk about what Obama has been really doing to win the Democratic Nomination.
Well it is no secret. He has done what we did not expect, ol back room politics.
With Edwards support he has clintched the nomination from Clinton. How, by offering theose that be in their party that which they wanted. Wether or not he will comply is another question.
Hillary only offered Edwards a cabinate post, ouch I bet that hurt. He wanted to be President and would have been, had the Democrats not tanked him for Kerry.
He is handing out favors like candy and it works well in our party why not theirs

Obama Gamble???
This is no Gamble by Obama, thousands of southern white voters like Edwards, many from our party.
This will cause a shift in votes. Also, you out there that hate McCain and have venomently posted your hatred for him, will vote for Edwards and thus give Obama the fall election.
Even more northern white middle class, ruined by this Administrations assinine policies. I am Northern Middle class, but will not vote for Obama, I like McCain faught in Nam and lived to fight again.
Now you cry babies that bad mouth McCain, I ask you now.
WHO WILL YOU VOTE FOR IN NOVEMBER.

Everyman in PA...

Obamathesocialist
Obama would be the most disastrous president in our history, making Carter look like Lincoln.
Obama is a radical socialist who believes in all the radical crap of Ayers/Soros - even Hamas is rooting for him. He is anti-American and anti-democracy - his Global Poverty Act, currently in Congress, is just a small harbinger of the socialist wealth distribution policies he will foist on the USA. Obama's big government handouts - taken from our tax dollars - will ruin our democracy and our individual freedoms. Obama is a naive idiot - campaigning in "all 57 states"!! The man is a fool and his wife is a miserable spoiled elitist who has no problem getting their mansion with Rezko - they are both amoral and have no love for this country of ours.
McCain is a fiscal conservative and a patriot. He is the only choice for America. Obama is a self-centered, self-serving ambitious player eager for his own power and prosperity - he doesn't care what happens to this country as long as he gains. He is a dissembler - and without a TelePrompTer a blithering idiot. Americans are smart to be leery and aloof from this poser.
McCain loves this country. That's all I need to know.

Obama’s Sword of Damocles: October Surprise Won’t Surprise Us
Looming Scandal Will “Toricelli” Barack Obama After Democratic National Convention

The Democratic Party’s superdelegates, even those who have endorsed Barack Obama, need to do some serious reconsideration between now and the convention. Should Obama become the nominee, the Democrats are likely to find themselves in the same situation as they did with Robert Toricelli (D-NJ) in 2002. As described by Wikipedia (more information at the Washington Post),

In the middle of an increasingly competitive race against Republican Doug Forrester, Torricelli decided not to run for reelection after disclosure of illegal contributions to his campaign by David Chang, a businessman connected to North Korea. In a speech, Torricelli stated that despite his leaving public office in a different way than he planned, he was proud of his service.

The Democratic Party then had to persuade the New Jersey Supreme Court to bypass the deadline for ballot changes to replace Toricelli with Frank Lautenberg. It is more than likely that the Democrats will find themselves in the same situation this year if Obama becomes the nominee, because of Obama’s questionable use of the United Church of Christ’s tax exempt resources to support his campaign. The Internal Revenue Service is currently investigating Obama’s church and, depending on when it announces its findings, it will render Obama unelectable or (should be be elected before the IRS announces its findings), leave him with a crippled and scandal-ridden Presidency.

I don't know if....
conservatives and I include myself in that mold, are just too stubborn or what, but much of the country has never experienced the wonderful aspects offered by real conservatism. They have only experienced Republicans who claim the conservative mantra but have not practiced it.

Conservativeness speaks to personal freedom and seeks to empower people rather than enslaving them to the whims of politicians.

In the nightmarish bureaucracy that exists in Washington DC today, finding the real truth is an effort in futility. Truth is relative in Washington depending on who is telling it.

I think the American people are in for some very hard times and it won't matter who wins this election. Too many Americans are convinced that it is the central government's job to control everything, every social problem, education, health care, the climate, and everything in between.

The Constitution has been relegated to just an insignificant piece of paper that belongs in the Smithsonian and is viewed as no longer relevant and had meaning a long time ago.

You can say a million times that government powerful enough to give you everything is also powerful enough to take all that you have, not the least of which is your ability to seek your own destiny, and people look at you like you are crazy!

As someone said earlier in this thread, where are the Patrick Henry's this day in time? I think there are still a few, but the resemblance does not exist in any of candidates for POTUS. I truly don't think that if Patrick Henry himself could come back and run for President today, that he wouldn't be called just another right wing nut.

bottom line is...
there are not enough horses to pull the government's wagon train and the further we go more of those horses pulling the wagons are going to die from the ever widening burden being placed on them.

I am speaking of taxpayers who are now paying 40% plus of the incomes to government in income taxes and all the many fees government places on us.

I have seen this question asked many times, but I will pose it once again because I have yet to see it answered. "How much is too much? At what point will the people paying for all the government's good will and good intentions be unable to provide what is demanded?"

Too Bad
Too bad the Dems did not nominate someone like Bill Richardson or Evan Bayh.

Too bad the Republicans did not nominate Ron Paul.

farmers wife
i watched "astronaut farmer" with billy bob thorton the other day and couldn't help but think of you.
it takes place in texas and is a really good movie.

part of the problem is philosophical and part is logistics.

i get the impression sometimes that some conservatives literally believe there should be no taxes.
of course, the country would not survive without them but in the end isn't that the fundamental conservative approach.

we have become so large and so globalilzed that trying to solve problems on a state level just doesn't work anymore.

i also think that many conservatives retreat to their core principles without being smart about it.

for example, how can a person who believes that government is the problem, govern effectively

i think that was some of bush's problem.

he did not take governing seriously so he put people in charge of governmental agencies because of loyalty or friendship.

now that meant alot of incompetent people were running important governmental agencies.

conservative philosphy needs to evolve to the point that there is a recognition that government does indeed have postive impact.

until that day, they will never be good at governing.

Ron Paul
Ron Paul had the right philosophy; too bad he was not nominated.

fear
Superdelagates fear dumping Obama because they fear far left opposition in their own reelection races. If Obama was white, "ala"John Edwards he would have already been thrown under the bus with his critical flaws. Obama has been strategically "hidden" from finding out exactly what his "true" beliefs are. His handlers,as well as the media want to avoid the general public getting anything that they haven't prepackaged. Add in the threat of Sharpton and 10000 black panthers showing up at the convention and the far left has their candidate in position to win ,in a Democrat year.

Good Day religiouslib...
Your impression that conservatives think there should be no taxes is erroneous. Of course taxes are needed to take care of the nations business. I have not seen on these threads any conservative deny the obligation we all have to pay for what benefits us all.

The problem is the ever increasing demand for more. The central government's appetite is becoming unsustainable because it insists on ever more intrusion and intervention into our personal lives and choices, without exhibiting the necessary inefficiency and respect for where the money comes from.

No good can be done when the fuel to run the engines of government is stifled. Why should we except the globalizeation of our economy? Where should government's loyalty lie?

They should be loyal to and dedicate themselves to the continued empowerment of individuals who are actually producing what flows into the public treasury instead of expecting people to be in business for the sole purpose of providing jobs, and meeting the ever increasing requirements of the federal government with no regard for the ever dwindling bottom line.

As for the movie you mentioned, I haven't seen it but maybe I should because maybe it would be easier making a living by farming in outer space!

landslide
If Obama were white, he would win running away. The writing is on the wall, Americans want anyone NOT associated with the disastrous policies of the current administration. McCain is Bush lite, only older. A bad combo. W.Va. is not a problem as it is a red state. To the extent that it does raise some problems in terms of a disconnect with core Democratic constituencies like labor unions, Obama has time to reapproach them. Where are they ultimately going to go? No major union has ever endorsed a third party candidate, still, the rank and file will do what they want in the voting booth and many may go for the 'white' candidate. This is only a key issue in swing labor states like Michigan and Pennsylvania. It could be his undoing but in the end his loss won't have much to do with a lack of 'credentials'. The public goes through periods of rejecting candidates with the heavy political experience on Capitol Hill. Plus, it's about judgment. The president relies on the experts he has surrounded himself with to form policy, he doesn't operate in a vacuum unless his initials are GWB. And while he did serious damage, he still could not destroy the country.

Gamble
This presidential race is nothing less than entertaining. All kidding aside, we need to look at history to tell us where we need to go.

Back in the 1976 (refer to history books if you do not remember this) Jimmy Carter was elected president. The following four years were a complete disaster. Iran was western minded until Carter stepped in, taxes were all right until Carter had his way (I remember having a 21% mortgage). Ninteen-eighty Reagan was elected, he shot down the Cold War by building UP the military, tackled the economy with Alan Greenspan, and turned a country upside down back to rights.

Where are we today? Upside down again. The democrats think TAXES are the answer to our economy. The republicans think Business is the answer to our economy. When businesses and investors are given tax breaks, they invest in more business, which increases our labor force, which stimulates the economy. Government will never have the answer to our economic issues.

You will argue that under Bill Clinton we had a robust economy. He did this through keeping a Reagan appointee Alan Greenspan. Through Bill Clinton we now have a teen population orally infected with STD's due to his "I did not have sexual relations with that woman", teens today give lewinskies to our detriment. We also had a stripped down military. A president who would not act upon terrorist acts upon this country.

Here is the crux of the matter, are you willing to gamble on Obama with his baggage (Jeremiah Wright, bitter comments, and Michelle who is NOT proud of her country) or McCain with his baggage (being too liberal for the evangelicals)?

What the article did NOT say
From pollster results, 70-80% of American citizens are anti-illegal aliens and (patriotism mentioned) anti-terrorists.

Obama's facetious explanation of HIS patriotism and his endorsement by Hamas make most Americans' "blood run cold". Never doubt his promise to side with Muslims (Audacity of Hope) will become a battle cry in the general election - along with Wright and the other faux paus he is currently committing (currently, "sweetie").

So far, BHO remains the sweetheart of MSM due to his charisma, but as his character and ideology come under scrutiny, even the "yellow dogs" should see hiom for what he is.

It amazes me no end that "ignorant middle class 'clingers' " already see something of the REAL BHO while the wealthy and "educated" seltists are enraptured by him.

Wake up, America!

Wait-And-Seerers
We have long-time friends who are TRUE yellow-dog Dems. Anytime differences between GOP-DEM are mentioned, they usually get slobbering at the mouth angry.

Well, we had a little discussion about Hillary-Obama. Surprise! Surprise! They remained calm and recited a litany of bad stuff for each one. The conversation ended with each saying, "I'm just going to wait to see what happens!"

Interesting comment for dimmies.

Obamamania
Now that more information has come out about Obama, he appears to be scary! He flat out lied regarding any knowledge of Rev Wright's hate for America. LOOK HOW LONG IT TOOK HIM TO DENOUNCE REV WRIGHT! Just look at Trinity's magazine the Trumpet. It is published and dispersed all the time to it's member base. You can't tell me that Barack never saw the hate in there either. So if he missed a Sunday when the hate language was used, he could catch up by reading the Trumpet Magazine. When Obama was drawing huge crowds after his wins and people were fainting, we were not a very well informed group of voters and we can thank the Media for that! Now that we have more information about Obama RE: William Ayers, Rev Wright, Farakan, Michelle's hate for America and her locked up thesis papers(RELEASED NOV. 5, 2008, RIGHT AFTER THE ELECTION), and his anti gun Bible clutching remarks in SF,people have begun to notice more about him. WE DON'T LIKE WHAT WE SEE!!!If you held his earlier won elections today with our more informed information on Obama, I seriously doubt that he would win like he has and might not even be in the race today! YOU CAN'T HONESTLY TELL ME THAT YOU WANT THIS MAN TO BE YOUR PRESIDENT!CAN YOU? I do not care that he is black, I care that he demonstrates very poor judgement and has really awfull associations. There are plenty of blacks that I would vote for, just not this man! In his book, he said that when push comes to shove he will side with Islam! What about siding with America Obama? I really don't get flipped for any of the Presidential runners, but I really am against one...OBAMA...NOT!

Oblaba continues his slide
Just like W. Virginians went to Bush and Clinton they will go to McCain now that the reverend's pupil is lashing out for being nailed as an appeaser. You know its odd that he is so elitist that he doesn't even realize he now has to grovel to white Democrats. He constantly shows his arrogance and he doesn't hide his appearance of superiority. It doesn't matter that Reagan Democrats are concerned. He knows he will get 99% of the largest black voter turnout of all time. You throw in illegals, college kids, gays and leftists and he can still win. He will continue to try to defy the odds and buck middle class whitey. What he fails to understand that his naivete on foreign policy and the racism in his own party will come to fore when they close that curtain.

Also Wounded Knee
Isn't it interesting that the economy of Clinton went up with a GOP Congress and Bush's robust one went south when the dims took over. I wonder how much of the middle class considers that? With this MSM not many.

earth to broshow
"W.Va. is not a problem as it is a red state."

Dim senators and a dim governor. How did you do in comprehension?

I'm curious broshow
What advisors did GWB ignor? What judgement do you admire from Oblaba so far? Wright, Rezco, Ayers?

Phylo Se Fiser- Listening to only Words
I hate to burst your bubble about Obama and gun Laws- He comes from the state of Illinois- I live in Texas, but was born in Illinois--most of it is Rural--I mean CORN FIELDS- Everyone has to get a FOID Card to even own a HUNTING gun. If a womans husband dies and she does not have her own FOID card- All guns have to be removed from the house. It could lead to FELONY CHARGES. We are all Avid hunters in my family-Do you know how to kill, skin and cook a rabbit?? I am a female and have 2 daughters - and believe me- with the rising cost of food and bio-terrorism- you better be finding you a hunting gun and hope you never elect someone that restricts or denys your rights to have it!

i hear bob barr has tossed his hat in
i am so glad to hear that another man of color is on board for potus. by the way good morning audax, how do you spell (also)? with that great education of yours you might want to check that mispelled world. this is a great country, let's show ourselves and the world what we are really made of. let's live by the principles that the constitution has layed out. stop fighting against each other. peace be with you.

GENERAL ELECTIONS
WEST VIRGINIA IS FOR THE CAINE. AND SO ARE THESE OTHER STATES: ALASKA,ARIZONA,CALIFORNIA,FLORIDA,GEORGIA,I9NDIANA,MARYLAND,NEW JERSEY,NEBRASKA OKLAHOMA, SOUTH DAKOTA, PENNSYLVANYA, WEST VIRGINIA, WISCONSIN, AND TENNESSEE. OBAMA KNOWS THIS. SOME ARE RED NECKS STATES AND RACE IS A FACTOR. BUT OBAMA WILL WIN 31 SATES. NOT ON THIS LIST.

Bonnie is sure he'll have
the very best advisors in his cabinet.
That's based on his track record of picking quality associates, presumably?
If you're relying on that to offset his inexperience, you better think again.

Mahalo! Thank you Mr. Blackwell...
Dear Mr. Blackwell,
Thank you for your insightful summary on the government issues at hand, and how they directly relate to Barack Obama, in the article entitled, "The Obama Gamble." You have eloquently voiced the concerns of the general American population with humility in your words, mercy in your heart, and with a rational thought process. You have also managed to logically explain many current events in such a short article. Please continue in your righteous efforts to educate citizens on the vital information needed so that we will all place our votes for the best candidates in governmental offices. May you and your family be encouraged by numerous others, blessed supernaturally in your work, and protected by God's angels at all times. Telling the truth is never an easy task, but it is essential to be "makaala" or awakened to the reality of corrupt politics. We are in a season of needing clarity of all waters which bring forth life- it is not the season of promotions on black and white issues. The media is treading in shallow muddy waters and calling it "the latest news." Mr. Blackwell, thank you for your scripture references. A person does not have to believe in God in order for God to do His work on earth. It is evident, that God is speaking to you, you are listening, and you are conveying the messages to the general public. Mahalo e ke Akua a me ke keiki, Iesu Cristo, a me ka uhane hemolele...Thanks be to God the Father -Master of the Universe, to Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Ameni.
