Clinton and Obama stop playing nice

Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

No more playing nice.

Senators Clinton and Obama now are going for each other's throat, and in doing so, they both expose why neither might not be "ready for primetime" in a post-September11 world.

In last week's CNN/YouTube debate, a questioner asked if the candidates would promise as president to meet -- without conditions -- with the brutal leaders of Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and Syria. Mr. Obama hastened to say he would, and Mrs. Clinton proceeded to blast him, saying that such meetings have to be done under the right conditions or the meeting could become a propaganda tool that strengthens the dictator and make matters worse.

Most experts were quick to agree that Mr. Obama's answer was absolutely wrong. When the president of America meets face to face with the leader of another nation, it has effects on international relations on a host of matters, both immediate and longterm. An American president cannot promise to go blindly into a meeting with a tyrannical dictator, as that meeting could facilitate or enable a calamity.

While any experienced foreign policy leader understands this, Mr. Obama apparently does not, or even worse, has decided to throw caution to the wind. No matter how bright he was in law school, this blind foolishness exposed a dangerous naivety.

So the next day, Mrs. Clinton said that his answer to that question was "irresponsible, and frankly naïve." But instead of admitting he was wrong, Mr. Obama counterattacked, alleging her worldview was “Bush-Cheney Lite.” Those are fighting words among Democrats.

It's now gone to the next level, as both campaigns have cast their surrogates into the ring against each other on television. One battleground for these fights was Chris Matthew’s “Hardball” on MSNBC, where two congressmen squared off: Hillary's Steve Israel versus Barack's Adam Smith. The second was Thursday, where Hillary's Howard Wolfson got into an increasingly sharp and angry exchange with Obama's David Axelrod.

Mr. Axelrod's performance showed that Mr. Obama was trying to recalibrate his position. During the debate, Mr. Obama was clearly referring to meeting with these brutal dictators without any conditions. Knowing his candidate had made a big mistake, Mr. Axelrod started his spin, saying that the freshman senator was referring to diplomacy, not attending summits. This contradicts the debate question, which was asking about unconditional face-to-face meetings.

By Thursday, Mr. Axelrod was back to supporting the idea that our president should be willing to meet face-to-face without preconditions, which Mr. Wolfson again called "irresponsible" and "naive."

This compounds Mr. Obama's earlier national security faux pas, where he said that if we lost two American cities in a massive attack, his first priority would be to make sure that our first responders had the equipment they need. Mrs. Clinton said her priority would be to retaliate.

Her campaign attacked Mr. Obama for failing to grasp key foundational principles of national security and foreign policy. That's absolutely unacceptable for a post-9/11 American president, they said.

They also seek to cast Mr. Obama as a would-be Wayne Palmer president. The president on Fox's popular TV show "24" is charismatic and bold, but prone to dangerous and costly national security blunders because of his inexperience which results in poor decision making.

That's bad news for a future Clinton-Obama ticket.

The top requirement of a vice president is that they're qualified at any moment to become president. In war time, a president has no greater obligation than making sure the person who would become commander-in-chief in the event of an attack or assassination is ready to take on the job.

And anyone who fails to understand that our response to such an attack must be retaliation against our attacker has yet to grasp how to protect our nation. But this internecine squabble also exposes Mrs. Clinton's lack of veracity. She refuses to tell the public what she knows and believes to be true. This could be a disqualifying flaw.

Mrs. Clinton believed that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, just like President Bush. Her husband and the previous administration believed that as well, as did Britain, France, Egypt, Jordan, and a host of other nations. Even Saddam's own generals believed it.

Everyone believed it, and everyone was wrong. But being sincerely wrong does not make you a liar, and so Hillary knows it's not fair to say President Bush "lied us into a war."

Mrs. Clinton knew she was voting for military warfare with her vote, not diplomacy. She supported the war, but refuses to admit that now. She also promised to continue funding the troops and said not to do so would be wrong, but now she's done exactly that.

She could have chosen to be a unifier. Instead, she's chosen partisan division and political advantage over bringing the nation together. Instead of pursing the national interest, she's pursuing her party’s nomination with statements she knows to be untrue.

Senator Clinton knows that Senator Obama's "irresponsible and... naive" foreign policy mouthings should raise questions about his readiness to be president or vice president. But her duplicitous and deceptive comments about her Iraq vote and the war challenge her veracity and give life to questions about her own ability to execute a competent national security strategy.

These interesting Democrat party intramurals might provide an opening for a strong Republican candidate with a coherent and straightforward national security message.

Borghe
You're wrong in what you're saying in two short sentences. The first is obvious, and the second is "...statement of fact" not "statement after a fact".

HalO
Your constant pushing of Ron Paul reminds me of
a coondog barking treed when there is no coon in
the tree.

Thanks for the warning,HalO...
...but how about something like this:THE NEOCONS ARE COMING! THE NEOCONS ARE COMING! HIDE THE WOMAN AND CHILDREN! HEAD FOR THE HILLS! THE NEOCONS ARE COMING!

Now don't be so modest next time.

Well,Pineknot...
...there may not be a coon in the tree, but if it is a walnut tree, there certainly is a lot of nuts up there.

speaking of Shrillary...
Isn't it amazing to stop and think about the chance involved in Shrillary perhaps becoming our next Prez? Even liberal pundits (Howard Fineman, etc.) have admitted that she is the first wife victimized by a philandering pig hubby who flipped it into a U.S. Senate seat for herself. Seriously, prior to that, what had Shrillary done to distinguish herself as a potential Commander-In-Chief?!

She had worked for a law firm in Arkansas known for its ability to get shady business deals done-- hmmm. She now has the audacity to refer to Slick Willie's tenure in the W.H. as "our administration"... all she had done to facilitate his election was stand by her man (partner in deception for symbiotic power), and her role as first bitxh was hardly that of a key player in government.

Shrillary did fire the career W.H. travel staff, "misplace" legal files, and cuss like a sailor and throw things when Slick got caught with Little Bill misbehaving with Monica, but none of that was experience to prepare her for running the government. Presidente Jorge has proved to be an arrogant boob WAY over his head, but at least he could say that he had been a relatively popular governor of a major state. Food for thought.

What was the lie?
Charlie S. shows ignorance, but I feel his frustration. As for "debating skills" Borghe, you gave nothing to debate. You made a statement that my 7th grade students make with no facts. You just have an opinion that somebody told you without looking things up for yourself. Furthermore, calling Charlie S. a conservative Christian is like calling every liberal a homosexual, it isn't true.

The columnist clearly said that everyone thought Saddam had WMD. You can go to any library and look at the microfilm of all the articles where politicians of all persuasions said so. There was all this talk about "someone has to stop him!", but no one did. GWB took a shot.
In hindsight, it wasn't what we thought. He was wrong, but so was every one else. There is such an obsession with seeing what one wants to believe as true that some folks just ignore the realities of 4 years ago.
I would have rather made the error this way than be wrong and have our cities blown away. Then GWB would have been criticized that he knew Saddam had WMD and did nothing to defend the country. The man can't win.

Nam65-66
If HalO wants to bark about nuts, that's his
problem. If my dog barks up the wrong tree
that's my problem.

Ron Paul
I'm wondering how this group seems to know what this man WILL do even before he does. You can't say what ANY politician will do once he gets into office as they are all crooks. The only difference between them is the level of voracity. I get so tired of people saying "so and so will do this or that when he gets into office. Haven't the last five years taught you anything? I never thought G.W. would have sold us down the river on the illegal alien issue but he did. Now I choose to take a very cautious course from here on out. You can only say that you THINK the candidate of choice might do what you want him or her to. What they have done till now only gives you insight to what they might do not what they will do if their special interest starts to lag.

for Borghe
Borghe says: "lied us to war. It's just statement after a fact."

This may be a shock to you, but Bush and Cheney are not running for office in 2008. Hillary and Obama are.

So regardless of what Bush and Cheney said, that's all going into the history books on January 2009.

I know why Lefties like you keep harping on Bush, even though no one from his Administration is even running in 2008. And if the Republicans let you get away with it without calling you out on it, then they deserve to lose this election. (HINT: It will prove how ignorant they are of history.)

Conservatives, don't be sidetracked!
CC writes: "You're wrong in what you're saying in two short sentences. The first is obvious, and the second is '...statement of fact' not 'statement after a fact'."

Don't be baited!
STOP DEFENDING BUSH ALREADY!

Don't you see what Lefties like Borghe are doing?

They are BAITING conservatives like you into defending Bush instead of defending the positions of the actual GOP candidates in 2008.

Don't go there!

Bush is so unpopular with the general electorate that if the Democrats succeed in making 2008 a referendum on Bush, then no GOP candidate has a chance to win. You are falling into their trap by continuing to debate Bush at this late stage.

Let Bush go back to Crawford in 2009. You can't save his reputation by defending his record on Iraq--it's far too late. All you are going to end up doing is linking the GOP to Bush in the eyes of the public, which you do NOT want right now.

When you hear a Leftie like Borghe slamming Bush, don't be baited into starting yet one more debate about Bush. Better to just say "Yeah, well, I'm no fan of Bush any more, but he'll be out of office by 2009 anyway"--and then get back to discussing the actual GOP and Dem candidates.

Ron Paul believes...
...that the United States was responsible for 9/11.Yeah,that makes sense.Just the guy we need for President.

More koolaid,anyone?

CHALLENGES FOR OUR NEXT PRESIDENT
"US" next President faces several Challenges;Bringing the WAR to a successful END,The Reconstruction of Iraq,Putting "US" financial house in order,Reconciling "US" position in the WORLD with other responsible governments, removing International business regulations that place American businesses in a vulnerable position, and reducing the Nuclear Threat, etc. These are only some of the Challenges facing "US" next President."CAN WE TALK" is not one of THEM!I always thought, that it was WOMEN who gossiped.I was wrong AGAIN!!

Conservatives make me laugh
After Bush was told that a second plane had hit the WTC and that the nation was under attack, Bush was so on top of his game that he continued to read a children's book to kindergartners for seven full minutes. Seven full minutes!

Then, after going to Afghanistan (which was the right thing to do) he gave up on the pursuit of Bin Laden (the guy who coordinated the attack on us) so that he could go attack a country that had nothing to do with 9/11, which resulted in us being stuck in a quagmire and the perfect recruiting tool for terrorists. And now al Queda has re-grouped and is back to pre 9/11 strength.

Now you people want to elect a guy who will carry on Bush's foreign policy. And based on one comment at a debate, you've decided that Obama is unqualified to be Commander in Chief.

Please, go look at the Obama ad at TalkingPointsMemo.com. It has his film of his comments from 2002 (that's before the war for those of you in Rio Linda), up to the most recent debate. What you'll see is a man of impeccable JUDGEMENT.He has been right about everything! And then compare him to Bush who, just before the invasion of Iraq, had to be told that there were differences between Sunnis and Shiites.

Do you people really think that you're qualified to decide who is qualified to be Commander in Chief? I think you folks should to leave that kind of a judgement to the Democrats for a while.

By the way, go read Dick Morris's column today to see who he (and virtually every other pundit) thinks got the better of the spat between Hillary and Obama.

Phylo out. Go Obama!

Phylo out...
...of his mind.

Obama got the better of the argument
That's certainly true in a sense, and I did read Dick Morris' column on the subject, but Obama's also an idiot for holding that position. It improved his polling numbers, but those numbers are based on the far-left base of his party, who are so out of touch with reality that they refuse to admit that terrorists exist. If you don't believe me, go look at DailyKos or TalkLeft. I did, and it terrified me.

Nam65-66
Phylo out of his mind. Yeah he barks about nuts,
just different ones than HalO.

borghe
One who uses a lie ("Bush lied us into war") as the bases of their argument, does not really have the high ground to complain about anothers debating skills.

When liberals scream "Bush lied", "No blood for oil", "The election was stolen" over and over again in spite of zero evidence to support their claims and an avalanche of evidence to refute them...conservatives have a right to get annoyed.

That said...Go @#$@ yourself isn't the way I would have gone.

Bman
Sylvester Reyes I HATE to admit from Texas.
Pellosi put in house intelligence committe.

Two quick questions
"Liberal" Borghe types, "Bush lied us to war."

"Paleocon" HalO types, "No Democrat could screw up worse than this squinting, mumbling pigmy has already done."

"Liberal" Phylo types, "He gave up on the pursuit of Bin Laden (the guy who coordinated the attack on us) so that he could go attack a country that had nothing to do with 9/11, which resulted in us being stuck in a quagmire and the perfect recruiting tool for terrorists."

"Economic-but-not-Social-Conservative" SteveL types, "You can't save his reputation by defending his record on Iraq--it's far too late."

Now, is it just me, or could you swap the four handles at random and not be able to tell which poster originally wrote which?

And what does it say when the "Paleocons," the "Economic-but-not-Social-Conservatives" (i.e. RINOs), and the moonbats are all singing the same tune?

FreedomWorks Strawpoll
Hey check out FreedomWorks' website to vote in their Republican strawpoll. The Democratic poll will be up next week!

If the Traitors, Liars and Cheats leave the DNC, they could hold their Convention in a Phone Booth :)!

BTW, Hillary only plays nice when the camera is on. I GUARANTEE the Slime Job heading towards Obama will make the CNN/YourBong tiff look like a pillow fight!

BTW, did you see how Hellary slimed her DEAD Father in The New York Slimes?

What a Shameless, Unethical, B*tch!

Who can beat Hillary and Obama?
The Dems are running two flawed candidates, but the polls show that if Republicans don't field a strong candidate and run one heck of a campaign then the Dems could take the White House. Aside from being commander-in-chief and dealing with issues such as taxes, Social Security, energy, the next president will probably get at least two Supreme Court appointments. The stakes are sky-high.

Who can the GOP run that will beat Hillary and Obama?

She has a right to resent
.
After working her entire adult life to gain power at all costs and believing it's her "turn" to have the number one spot, Lady Evita Rodham MacBeth should have a right to resent a johnny-come-lately challenger from nowhere.

The GOP is going to lose this way....
....if they keep getting baited into debating Bush's track record at this late stage.

Public Information asks: "Who can the GOP run that will beat Hillary and Obama?"

It's not so much a question of WHO, as a question of HOW.

This persistent tendency by Republicans to reflexively circle the wagons around Bush and keep defending his track record on things like Iraq when the Democrats slam his track record is going to doom any Republican. No GOP candidate can win in 2008 if the 2008 campaign and election become a referendum on Bush's track record. You can take that one to the bank.

And the Dems are going to do their damnedest to turn the 2008 election into not a choice between two new candidates, but into a referendum on Bush. They know what they're doing:

It's extremely rare for any highly unpopular incumbent to be succeeded by someone from his own party. That hasn't happened since 1876.

For the GOP candidate to have a chance, the public must regard him as nothing like Bush, so that Dem attacks on Bush won't rub off on him.

And so far, the only candidate who is already shown he is like that in substance as well as style is Giuliani. He's so different from Bush--pro-choice, socially moderate, wasn't even in Congress when the Iraq War was being debated--that it will be very difficult for the Dems to link him to Bush.

The things about Giuliani that anger social conservatives the most are just the things that give him the best chance to win the election. If I'm right about the public wanting a real change away from the incumbent, then a Northeastern social moderate like Giuliani is more of a change than a social conservative with a southern accent like Thompson.

That doesn't mean the other GOP candidates can't yet alter their message to be more appealing along these lines. But it means that till now, they haven't done as good a job showing how different they would be than Bush has been.

I reiterate: If you continue to be cheerleaders for Bush at this late stage, reflexively defending him against any and all Dem attacks, you're toast. I guarantee you that Hillary (or whoever the Dem nominee is) is going to be slamming Bush, Bush, Bush, in every speech, every TV ad, every debate. Don't be baited. Keep the focus on the future after Bush.

OBAMA HUSSEIN CHARMING THE FOOLISH!!!
Hmm, Obama really does seem to be Mr Charming.
What would his answer be to "MuSlim rights in America, and how there is no Jihad going on?"
Mr. Obama, 45, spent at least four years in a so-called Madrassa, or Muslim seminary, in Indonesia."He was a Muslim, but he concealed it," the source said. "His opponents within the Democrats hope this will become a major issue in the campaign."When contacted by Insight, Mr. Obama’s press secretary said he would consult with “his boss” and call back. He did not.
It is strange that his Muslim dad died in a car crash, that would link him directly to his MUSLIM ties???
IF THIS SO-CALLED FORMER MUSLIM GETS INTO OUR WHITEHOUSE WE WILL HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS!!!

That Bush read for 7 minutes because he was one of the students.

clinton and her vp
should missus clinton win, the vp will not be the parties designee but rather bubba. The missus has told us that bubba will be her ambassador to the world. For anyone to think that she will not only rely but defer to bubba is naive at best. We liv e in a dangerous world, bubba had difficulty in seeing any enemies abroad let alone the spine to defend after variousd attacks. Having the clinton's run world policy was be a disaster. But perhaps they can again enlist madeline albright and she can give lessons on how she monica'd kimjong mentally ill, all the while assurring america this lunatic could be trusted. Thanks pal. We needed that. Anybody who can get a chuckle out of me has made my day. Again, thanks.

Do you suppose old Hal gets the message.??. Not a chance.

Of well, there are worse sorts in/on this site. He is just doing what he believes in, and I just wish he wouldn't be so wordy.... Semper Fi..

SteveL

I think your advice is correct. Bush and policies will be the theme as far as anyone can see. So, yes, the Republican candidate has to be quite different than say Thompson. Besides he's to CFR for many of us to get excited about him.

However, there are more candidates than Giuliani. One who could never win, but is obviously distant from Bush is HalO's choice, Paul. OK, as I said a complete outsider at this time in history.

Also, I find Romney very intriguing. He obviously knows how to handle Democrats, and is a fiscal conservative with proven ability to govern well. Some would argue that he is not a social conservative.

I disagree. That is an area where MSM and Demo politics would try to make the right wing (todays center) believe that he is not. I think he is much more socially conservative than Thompson and certainly more than Giuliani.

Georgetwin

By any chance, do you have a link to the New York Slimes article.??.

I would ogle that.

once a marine
the missus clinton also attacked bubba's dead mother and grandmother and he stood by and took it without defending them. And people actually believe this witch is capable of running the country. That she sees every critic as an enemy to be destroyed speaks volumes about her personality pathology

"If I'm right about the public wanting a real change away from the incumbent, then a Northeastern social moderate like Giuliani is more of a change than a social conservative with a southern accent like Thompson."

And if you're right about wanting a real change, then HRC is a shoo-in. Keep promoting the "RINO Horror Picture Show," though -- Dr. Frank-N-Rudy can be most generous.

"W"
That's all that really needs to be said. I mean you lemmings can critique the inadequacies the Dems have, but the only rebuttal needed is "W". Thread over.

Promises are empty threats.

- - Romney - - can/will shake the demos to their knees.

The election
is more than a year away, and Obama has plenty of time yet to continually stick his foot in his mouth, which he undoubtedly will. I would rather move to Mars than live in a country run by Hillary, but at least some of her responses are appropriate. Obama is SO FAR off into left field that this country would be virtually buried if he were ever elected, in my opinion.

I believe SteveL writing at 11:32 is absolutely correct. The Repubs can only win if their nominee and his campaign is not a rehash/refocus on the GWB years. He who distances himself properly from the arrogance of the GWB administration may have a chance. There remain so many weighty issues for a conservative or even a moderate conservative to catapult off and win the support of conservatives.

Hillary throws ashtrays!
All OBL would need to do is say 'Hillary's mama wears army boots' to REALLY get her dander up! There would be more than enough ashtrays flying at his head to terrorize his butt back into the hole he crawled out of!

to return to the original subject
Senator Clinton was correct.

BO showed us once again that there is no THERE there. As in - he doesn't have a clue.

As for the debate itself, I missed it.

Democrats talking about foreign policy and national defense? I don't get comedy channel.

Blackwell
All this rift between BO and Mrs. Bill Clinton will be old news after the primary, when she announces him as her VEEP. As for Repubs, they should run on their own vision of how they would govern, there was only one R.R.,and none of the current crop are anywhere near his views.

I have no doubt
that this hillary/hussein "dust-up" is a fake and phony show from a fake and phony pair of fakes and phonies.

They will team up for the 2008 election and win easily. Watch and see.

You had better have some serious cash. Mexico doesn't allow non-wealthy folks to immigrate, or buy land, access social services, or vote, or protest...

Pay attention!
To quote a famous music critique:

"It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings!"

As I read through the words of wisdom espressed by so many of you, I can't help wondering if anyone of you ever cracked a history book. The positions taken and the utter ridiculus statements made; to blame every problem that ever existed; to assume that someone other than President Bush would have saved us from the evil that exists is plain idiocy.

I am of such a nature as to listen to various opinions IF, and only IF, there is any logic to what is being said.

I believe that if the people of this country will start to act like it is a "United States" and face reality, the war on terror will be controlled.

Why do I say controlled? Simple; evil exists and will raise its ugly head in every generation and place possible. Greed, avarice, hatred, jealousy and pure orneryness is so rampant that the best we can hope for is to "control and contain the evil that so many aspire to."

There are many wonderful people in this world; most just go about trying to raise their families, earn a decent living and have a desire to help those who are unable to help themselves. Most do not have time to sit around and focus on how bad President Bush is. How he betrayed "us" (which is total nonsense) and the need to make everything better by getting rid of him. Those who really believe that the world will suddenly be at peace and harmony if only we can get him out of office are in for a rude awakening.

President Bush did not create the problems we face; he inherited them.

Just as President Lincoln did not cause the Civil War (he inherited the evil that was in place when he took office) he had no choice if the Union was to be preserved and eventually slavery abolished.

We live in a time that has the roots of the Terrorism going back several centuries.

Now, as to the new savior that so many of you are putting on a pedestal; I believe his name is "Running Ron Paul" or "Run Paul Run"; either name is a fitting description. I would rather vote for the DEmo (heaven help me!) than for him. Fortunately, and I do mean fortunately, he hasn't a chance of winning the nomination.

I believe in this country and that God had a hand in its creation; we can be defeated only if we turn our backs on those who are fighting this war. And, please, don't tell me that you support the troops but not the mission; that's utter nonsense.

I have lived 76 years and seen much that most cannot relate to. When the people pull together in a just cause, we can prevail. And if you don't believe the cause is just; maybe you need an attitude adjustment.

If this thread keeps going, I have much more to say and I challenge any critique about my posistion.

Cult of Death, Cult of Fear
For conservatives it is not as easy as saying "W".

We must explain to people succoring at the public teet, that there is a draw back to their self centered concerns toward their temporal salvation.

There is a new order in the universe and a new star in the heavens. You either follow that star, or slide into the pit of hell.

Keep Dreaming
The article ends by stating that there might be "an opening for a strong Republican candidate with a coherent and straightforward national security message." And when do you suppose this mythlogical figure is going to show up?

Tenore2
If you read this, I don't blame Bush for the problems as I'm not that naieve. I do, however, blame him for the way he handles them.

What did he do wrong
Eastlake; I still have a problem understanding what President Bush did that anyone else would have done differently.

I have a small business that I have operated for 20 years. I will periodically lay plans for how to build the business, produce new products and entice new customers. I will also forecast a budget and plan a schedule for accomplishing various tasks.

The problem is always in the execution. I may plan for 10 new customers and after contacting over 50, I will almost always miss my targets.

Now, why does this happen? Simply because I cannot predict how the potential customer will react.

War is even more unpredictable as many great generals will tell you. While a general may be able to control his plans, he cannot predict how the enemy will respond. Obviously, the penalty for missing the mark in war is far more painful than in business. Lincoln had to fire several generals before he found one who realized that the best way to win a war is to defeat the enemy. In other words, as Grant demonstrated; battles are won with great loss of life. That is painful, but it is true.

I don't mean to imply that you or any of the people posting here are Naive; however, some may be, shal I say, inexperienced?

Have a great day; support Bush. He is the only one who has the power to fight the terrorists. If he loses, we all lose.

Obama is correct
Obama is correct and his position is the right one. Why should a president of America not meet the leaders of Iran or Syria? If Americans think that these people are bad gyes and they should also know that others too percieve the american president as a bad gye. So perceptions are naturally differ from person to person as well from nation to nation.

If we need peace on this plenet we need to learn to live together if we all call ourselves as civilised. What is it if we plan and produce WMDs to kill millions of people in a second? is it all about civilization? why we should not solve our problems peacefully? in that context what is wrong if the futurte preseident of America meets these leaders and sort out issues for a better world for our children. After the world war 11, Soviet and American blocks were fighting on idealogical differences, those days also American and western media highlighetd the communist activists as terrerist? The was claiming as it fights terrerism? After the fall of Soviet, terrerism did not cease to exist? why? Americans created another retterism in the form of redical Muslims? and the fight against terrerism continues? where were these islamist terresist during the soviet era? were they just witing until the fall of Communism and face the Americans? why they did not join hands with Soviet to fight the west. Therefore this senario of terrerism is a creation/fabricATION. If the west wanted to stop it, it can do.

Lets have the futute president of America a pragmatic person who can bring about a permanent peace. I pray Mr.Obama can do it!
