Poll
Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

At this juncture, I wouldn't want to bet even a subprime mortgage on this presidential election. As perhaps never before, multiple hidden factors could alter the outcome.

Judging by polls, it would seem that Barack Obama will be our next president. Monday's Washington Post-ABC tracking poll, for example, showed Obama even winning 22 percent of conservatives and getting 12 percent support among Republicans.

But polls only reflect what people say they think, not what they really think.

Which is to say, we have both an election and a shadow election in progress. The latter, in which unconscious motivations come into play and buried prejudices surface in the privacy of one's voting space, is the one that counts -- and that can't be quantified in advance.

The 2008 election may prove to be history's highest stakes game of Liar's Dice.

Among the hidden factors is the so-called Bradley Effect, meaning that whites lie to pollsters about their support for a black candidate. It is cited as the reason Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley lost to George Deukmejian in the 1982 California governor's race, despite polls showing him up to seven points ahead.

But equally significant this time may become known as the Reverse-Bradley Effect: whites who would never admit to voting for a black man, but do. And, expanding the definition somewhat, Republicans and conservatives who would never admit to voting for a Democrat, especially one so liberal. Whether these dynamics are in balance won't be known for a while -- or perhaps ever. That's because the crux of the reverse syndrome is a code of omerta.

No one talks.

While some have minimized the impact of a Bradley effect in this election, we'd be wrong to discount it. Anti-black has morphed to some degree into anti-foreigner and anti-Muslim.

"Palling around with terrorists," as Sarah Palin said of Obama, gets to an underlying xenophobic, anti-Muslim sentiment. Using surrogates who strategically use Obama's middle name, Hussein, feeds the same dark heart.

This tactic, denied but undeniable, has been effective with target audiences, some of whom can be viewed on YouTube entering a Palin rally in Pennsylvania. One cherubic older fellow totes a stuffed Curious George monkey wearing an Obama sticker as a hat.

"This is little Hussein," he says, holding the monkey up to the camera and cackling as he walks away.

To McCain's credit, he has tried to correct his audience -- when, for example, a woman said she couldn't trust Obama because he's an Arab. Gosh, wonder where she ever got that idea? But the McCain-Palin bad cop-good cop routine is what it is. The hot babe lathers the crowd; the noble soldier hoses them down. This isn't a campaign; it's a sideshow.

Nevertheless, it is fair to concede that a few fruitcakes -- those who yell epithets or make racial slurs -- are not representative of Republicans, any more than those now Photoshopping ugly (and violent) depictions of Palin should be considered typical of Democrats.

One can hope that the uglies will cancel each other out. That leaves an X Factor of possibly exponential proportions that includes not just the Bradleys, but the Reverse-Bradleys.

I've received too many e-mails and had too many conversations that began, "Just between you and me," and ended with, "I wouldn't want anyone at work to know," to believe that this is an insignificant trend.

Sitting quietly at their desks are an unknown number of discreet conservatives who surprise themselves as they mull their options. Appalled by McCain's erratic behavior, both in dealing with the financial crisis and his selection of an unsuitable running mate, they will quietly (and with considerable trepidation) vote for Obama.

Are they are worried about higher taxes, a premature withdrawal from Iraq, and Obama's inexperience in matters executive? You betcha. But they do not want to vote for a divisive, anti-intellectual ticket headed by a man who, though they admire him, lately has made them embarrassed to be Republicans.

Should Obama win, it will be in part because some number of quiet, mostly white-collar men and women who speak Republican in public voted Democratic in private.

Whatever the final tally, Obama should not interpret his victory as a mandate. Many of the Reverse-Bradley ballots won't have been votes cast for Obama, but against a campaign turned ugly. They also will have been delivered with solemn prayers that Obama will govern as the centrist, pragmatic leader he is capable of being.

Funny
U.S. Budget Deficit hits record $438 billion for year 2008, and it will be close to 1 trillion in 2009. So we absolutely have to lower taxes for those who are looking for their 9th house, right? Or was it 10th house, please check with my campaign office. This deficit thing is so difficult to grasp anyway, better left to our grandchildren to deal with.

Well Last American...
It obviously won't be you turning out the lights. Wading through 6 feet of mud in your bare feet? I would think that would be easier than wading through 6 feet of mud in your shoes. Shoes get stuck in the suction of the mud and get pulled off, and, if they stay on, the protuberances on the outsides of the shoes create additional friction which makes it more difficult to pick up your feet. Hey, you mentioned logical discussion first. There, I just had one.

So conservatives "hate and fear people who have superior educations, know how to read, reason, and use polysyllabic words?" Is that right? Well, I count myself among the conservatives, and I just used the word "protuberances." Why don't you skip the stereotypes and extremely broad generalizations and make a logical argument, of which you are ostensibly a proponent?

The fact is, Last American, that the reason your trying to have a logical discussion is so difficult is that you're not a logical person.

Tada!!! Wow! I'm really good sometimes.

At Least she has a Job.
Palin is a Governor and has been working. She did not take two years off and tour the world with the jet set. What Palin spends on clothes is of No consequence, she really earned the money.
The relentless attacks only prove how women with integrity will be treated under of democrat regime of B Hussein.
If Hillary was not millions in debt, she would be stumping for Palin.

Chloe
Trying to have a logical discussion on TH is like trying to wade through 6 feet of mud in your bare feet.

No one ever said, or called Kathleen Parker an intellectual. I think you never understood the actual point, which was that conservatives hate and fear people who have superior educations, know how to read, reason, and use polysyllabic words. Nobody mentioned Kathleen Parker.

I give up.

Oh, and as for the person who explained Palin's clothes by saying that she will give them to charity? Yesterday I worked resettling a family with four children into a place because they had lost their home as a result of both parents losing their jobs. I don't imagine most Americans that you people pretend to care about really care all that much about getting a three-thousand dollar Micsha Bradley suit.

Mary
I don't think Joe the Plumber can afford Sarah's clothes - in fact, at his salary, it would take 7 1/2 years to pay for the wardrobe she just bought.

Amazing how these Joe 6-pack types manage to find the resources when they really need them, at least when they have enough connections.

WOW!

Sarah Palin - Joe the Plumber 2012!!!

Secret vote. Seeeeecreeeeet.
Nobody should ever tell anyone who they voted for. You can tell people who you support, but that's it. (And don't ask what I think of that dorky PBS attempt to promote self-violation of our sacred right to a secret ballot.) I don't think you should talk to pollsters unless you're very very bored, and exit polls should be outlawed.

What happens in the voting booth _should_ be as secret as what happens in the confessional booth. My parents have always held this to be true, and raised us kids to do the same.

again 10 years is not enough
Virginia is not in the rustbelt
it is a Southern state

Ah ha! You've shown your hand!

Kathleen Parker, you have finally revealed the real reason you are against Sarah Palin: she epitomizes the rival girl who has always beaten you at everything.

You have always wanted to be loved and admired like a Sarah Palin but you've always fallen short. You were never as beautiful, smart, witty, charming, decisive or capable of using so many talents as a Sarah Palin type of supergirl and it has driven you mad with envy.

You do not oppose Palin on any legitmate grounds. You are just personally envious of Sarah Palin. You don't want her to win because you cannot stand the thought of having to be reminded of your own personal failure to be like her for the next 4 to 16 years.

Mark my words readers, no matter what Sarah Palin does, Kathleen Parker will always be trying to take her down. Kathleen Parker's eyes are green as emerald's and shooting laser beams at Sarah Palin.

If Palin makes it to the Oval Office Kathleen Parker will become the bitterest of Palin's enemies and will become so irrational in her hatred of Sarah Palin that no conservative publication or website will have her.

Hope you get over your green-eyed gazonga problem Kathleen.

But even so Kathleen, your column has been oozing liberal slime for a long time; long before Palin came along.

In fact, your column has ceased to be worth reading for me. So, goodbye Kathleen. Whether you stay with Townhall.com, I'm taking your column out of my rotation.

P.S. The clue that tipped your hand was your attempt to slander Palin by calling her "anti-intellectual". Really Kathleen!

How low can you go
How much longer will it be before Townhall drops this pseudo intellect and fake conservative with a masters degree in Spanish which she uses to converse with her housekeepers and gardeners. She has basically gotten the lowest ratings of any columnist here for five straight weeks.

Kathleen, if you want to retain any integrity left your next column should be about how you define conservatism and why you consider yourself to be one. That should be very interesting. BTW, after this election regardless of who wins, you, Brooks, Buckley, Noonan, etc aka neocons or fake conservatives will be hated on both sides of the aisle. Do you really think liberals will accept you or conservatives will take you back esp if you cost them the election? You and your ilk are finished.

And just remember
Kathleen, your new liberal friends love you now, but if you breath one word of criticism of The One, they will send you nasty emails (and we know you don't like those). So we'll take you back then, IF you come crawling and you agree to kiss Palin's designer shoes.

Why are you still here?
You belong on the Daily Kos or Huffington Post.

You are so transparently jealous of Palin that your real values are showing through.

It's been fun
but, yeah, the best way to treat Kathleen's columns here, as long as they are here, is to just ignore them. I'm sill tempted to click her columns once to give them one star, but I don't think I will return after that.

As far as ads go, nothing that advertises on this space is anything I will ever look at, that's certain.

Hey Great S
Before succumbing to your racist slur you did not answer the question. How are WE addressing the budget balance, with the most expensive war on OUR hands, with OUR housing, financial and credit markets melting, with OUR rising unemployment and OUR decreasing infrastructure. Your buddies gave tax breaks to MobilExxon and Haliburton. Didn't exactly trickle down, eh?? Blaming those Europeans does not solve the problem. Go to square 1.

Hi LuLu
Just another high-tech European, happily living 10 years and counting in SUNNY and **LIBERAL** California thank you very much. This is the new America. You can keep your gray foggy recession-ridden rustbelt.

Another European queeer that thinks you can tax your way to prosperity. Hey moron, in liberal run states we spend approx $10,000 per student and we get functioning illiterates. Maybe if we spent $20,000 we can get them to spell their names correctly. How do you European eunuchs like waiting 6 months to see a dentist and 1 year to get an MRI? Keep your failed policies in Europe. By the way dipshyt, why are you here in America? Go back to your socialist utopia overrun with muslim malcontents.

I have to admit I can't wait till all of appeasing bedwetters in western Europe are forced to wear a burqa by your muslim overlords. Remember when the muslims were looting and firebombing France for over 300 days and the "men" were hiding under their beds? The Russian defense minister had a great quote. To paraphrase: "If the French can't quell the violence we offer to send our girl scouts to do it for them."

You put it perfectly Mrs. Parker!

It would seem that conservatives hate any intellectual, including conservative intellectuals, who refuse to just tell them what they want to hear.

The flaw in your reasoning is based on the supposition that Kathleen Parker IS an intellectual. To begin with, I don’t hate Kathleen Parker- I don’t know her. I don’t hate intellectuals, but I do hate pseudo-intellectual hogwash. I vehemently disagree with Parker and other conservatives who choose the precipice of THIS election to demonstrate their ‘principled’ misgivings about John McCain and/or Sarah Palin. It smells too much like ivory tower whinging with no appreciation for the practical effect of having a triumvirate of vote-buying poltroons running the country.

Instead of trying to work within the party to nominate a candidate more to their liking, (like the socialist progressives in the Democratic party), Parker, Will, and Noonan are throwing a tantrum in the corner on their one-legged stools. I can assure anyone with question that conservatives aren’t part of Obama’s one-world, ivory tower zeitgeist. Conservatism is not part of Obama’s economic paradigm. Indubitably, McCain will prove more amenable to conservatives than would Obama- ever.

I'll survive either result from this election. But I don't want to hear complaining from the likes Buckley when Obama makes changes to this country that are almost impossible to reverse.

AdamK, Troll or Ignoramus?
AdamK wrote that Parker is certainly a social conservative.

Unfortunately for AdamK, on April 5, 2005, Parker wrote a column in which she clearly described herself as;

“Socially liberal and fiscally conservative”

http://www.independentnation.org/articles/eitheror.htm

Troll or ignoramus? Which are you, AdamK?

I dibs troll!

Sam
Forget "palling around with terrorists.

Here's the Palin quote of the day I really liked:
"A vice president has a really great job, because not only are they there to support the president's agenda, they're like the team member, the teammate to that president, but also they're in charge of the United States Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes"

God help us all.

Ha ha
As a European I just laugh at Lulu and your likes. You yankees are awready way way deep in the hole and you think lower taxes is the way to go. Deteriorating education, crumbling interstates, rising crime. Ha ha! national debt, you are already deep in the Chinese pocket and getting deeper with a 100.000$ legacy to each of your overweight kid. Sarah Palin, you go girl!

Parker still doesn't get it....
She writes that Palin's remark citing "Obama's palling around with terrorists" raises the anti-Muslim feeling. Once again, Kathleen, it would have been best for you to have majored in Home Economics.
What Palin said rang perfectly clear to most people, in view of Obama's relationships, past and present, with people like Wm. Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. Oh yes, there has been one Muslim, whose name eludes me now, who Obama is cozy with. If I felt any sentiment against Obama and his Muslim pal, it was against that one Muslim. Even had there never been knowledge of that Muslim man tied into tuitions paid to Columbia U. for Obama, there still would remain Ayers and Dohrn, confirmed terrorists who still espouse the views they had when they were terroristicly active.

Dr. Chaz
Here's an even better idea: when somebody says something that's not right in with the party line, just put your hands over your ears and close your eyes - then you won't be so frightened by a new idea.

Like somebody said,
"If you vote, it just encourages them," as somebody said. I vote because it is a joy and a duty, and I know it just encourages the politicians.
But I'm out of time for read-wacky-Parker's new one. It just encourages her. I have things to do.
"Palling around with terrorists," indeed. It is a thoroughly factual statement. Would you accept the friendship and support of Bill Ayers? Or would you deem this beyond the pale for a decent and responsible citizen? If Ayers were sorry, it could be a different story. But he isn't sorry, and Obama knew he wasn't, just as Obama wasn't hard of hearing when Wright preached.
So, enough with Parker. If Townhall wants to keep her around as witness to its charity or broad-mindedness, no complaints. But I'm finished with encouraging her by clicking on for today's posed, vapid analysis of nothing much.

Paul
Well. you are certainly true to the stereotype. I hope JD2008 reads your post, you couldn't have made my point any better.

You're right, Paul, if you don't agree with what someone says or writes, just ignore them; after all, what reason could you possible have to question your own opinions? YOu might actually grow, obviously a scary thought for people like yourself.

JD2008
The way to confront someone (or some group) who put down your ideas is to come up with better and more persuasive ideas, not to just sit there and attack the person who doesn't respect you.

And, the only way to come up with better ideas is to consider many points of view, not just the one that shore up what you already think. Changing your mind, opening it up, is not dangerous, it's liberating.

If you can't address my point, you gain nothing by attacking me as a person - it keeps you in the exact same place you started from, and it doesn't persuade me of anything except that my ideas scare you.

TownHall Prudence in Ed Policy
Are you guys on the TownHall editorial board losing your bearings-- paying good money for this crap? All of a sudden, KP, who as far as we know, has not a whit of training in scientific polling, develops the brilliant thesis of a Reverse Bradley Effect. This is simply the latest in a string of hare-brained KP columns where sound reasoning and facts are thrown to the wind. If TownHall has a contract with Parker, they need to buy her out. She's embarassingly incompetent.

Charles F Schanie, PhD

Don't read Parkers articles anymore
I understand now for sure that K. Parker is an elitist anti-conservative. I plan never on reading any more of her articles.
I suggest that everyone else do the same. If it's noticed that her article has been up for 3 days has only 20 hits and only....say....3 responses, maybe townhall will drop this worthless poser.

You tell me, Pistol
Do you really think it's the McCains of this world who are currently losing their jobs, their homes, their children's futures?

Are you naive enough to think that, if elected, these are the people McCain is going to protect, because, after 35 years in the congress, he is going to change?

Pistol
In fact, it's just the opposite...conservatives are the ones who vote against their own interests over and over again. I would think that a long hard look at the last 8 years would make that pretty clear.

There is alot of phoney scare-talk about "socialism", most of it coming from people who don't actually understand what it really means. But these are the same people who don't want to see the wealthy, who generally pay less taxes, being obligated to pay more. Everything that conservatives talk about revolves around more and more support for the increasing distance between rich and poor and for the economic benefits of war and a struggling underclass. The top less than 1% of Americans now make more money,(and we've seen how much of it is spent) than the bottom 50% of Americans combined.

Roosevelt's finance secretary said,

"It's like a giant poker game - the winners
keep getting richer and richer and the losers have to keep borrowing more and more just to stay in the game"

The people you conservatives want in office are the very CEO's who wrote out million-dollar checks to themselves when their fifteen-year-old daughters wanted to have a party on a private jet, or a fourth house in the Hamptons.
Or, in McCain's case, an 8th house). You still seem to believe that it is these people, the ones whom McCain is promising to protect, who will keep you in the game out of some benificent, American good-will.

will the last
I was expecting better from you, like someone that had thought behind his position, rather than just some professors favorite student because he's a good parrot and can use thesaurus. Like all good liberals you attack the people, Gov Palin, Joe the plumber, and the 5 republican students that were bullied in Denver for simply being republican while studying, instead of their ideas. From the deep thinking you have expressed so far, I can guarantee you even if your worst fears were realized and intellectuals were attacked; you would die from old age before a "rabid" conservative got to you.

Somebody had to say it
The Republican Party has become so a vicious an attack ad generator that it's forgotten how to govern. Instead of articulating our views, we take the easy path and spin half-truths about our opponents behind their backs while publicly denouncing them for claiming we've done so. We cruise into power on platforms of faux-populism and fear-mongering, and what have we accomplished from it? The economy is a mess, the deficit is larger than it has ever been, and government spending continues at a record level. Abortion is still a constitutional right according to the law, gay marriage is now legal in Massachusetts, and if it is banned in California, it will be due largely to the deluge of black voters who've turned out to vote for Obama. I just wish that it wouldn't take an Obama victory for the rest of the party to realize what you're saying.

Palin is no conservative. Parker is one
In my view and Kathleen Parker certainlly is both fiscally and socially. The fact is the war against fathers and no fault divorce has cost taxpayers G-d knows how much money and is marxism to destory the family and of course the bible recognizes that a family is both a mother and father. Not to mention it puts children at risk and it is very unconservative to put an adults selfish needs male or female before a child. What has Palin done to stop this? Also the bible recognizes that men and women don't have interchangable roles which seems to be the case here with the Palin's. How is that conservative? While her son Track is in Iraq and could be killed or have his leg's blown off she takes her 3 girls with taxpayers funds along on WOMEN LEADERSHIP MEETINGS and takes her along on her other activities with taxpayer funds and have a good time while their brother could be killed. I That is real conservative. I'm sure men dying in Iraq will give some women MORE OPPORTUNITY and while Track is in Iraq her daughters of just having a great time with her mom at taxpayers expense. Wow! What a lovely person. How is that conservative? How is it conservative to defend title IX at this time when all this law is doing is shutting down men sport teams and is just forcing ANDROGYNY
(very anti-conservative and socialist) down out throat as it is just basic human nature that men have A BIGGER INTEREST in sports overall then women too but Palin obviously doesn't like this? How is it conservative for Palin to put the town she was Mayor of Wassilla in over 20 million dollar debt for a sports statium when before the town never had a debt problem before. Palin both Fiscally and Socially is not a conservative. Just being for gun's and against homosexuality (but no mention of other family distortions) just isn't enough when you look at the overall picture of Palin.

Irony
The real irony connected with Obama is that it is the folks voting for him that will get hurt most, and rightfully so. They are voting out of class envy, pocketbook hopes, identity, good intentions, everything but the right reason. They think only the rich will be affected. What a dream. The rich could not care less. They are flexible, their money makes money in good times and bad, inflation and depression. During economic crunch it is the unskilled, the uneducated, the illiterate, the skimpy resume' folks that get hit first and hardest. Enjoy.

OBAMA NATION BEST IS BACK
BABEL BY AN ORATOR IS STILL BABEL, NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE, EMPTY, VOID, HALLOW, A COMPLETE VACUUM. YOU ARE CONSISTENT WITH YOUR HATE. HOW COME LIBERALS DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE GROWTH IN THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT WAS ARESULT OF THE TAX CUTS OF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION.

quote from mylast post "I am open minded enough to not in this behavior on all dems"

The word "in" should be "pin"

last clarification
It would seem that conservatives hate any intellectual, including conservative intellectuals, who refuse to just tell them what they want to hear.

amending my last sentence
"have good reason to hate anybody with a brain because college professors (presumably smart people) do not respect their conservative students.

One thing has nothing to do with the other.

JD
Our exchange started because someone said that conservatives hate anybody with a good education or who can speak in sentences.

Your response is nothing but a justification for that; you are saying that conservatives have good reason to hate anybody with a brain.

JD2008
Your response to me is irrelevant to my point, it has nothing to do with my statement that conservatives hate ideas and intellectual freedom and would put to death every teacher in America if they had the power.

It shouldn't matter what the majority of college-level teachers think of conservative ideology. In fact, you are supporting my point that ultra conservative fascist despots kill the intellectuals first, because they usually disagree, which makes them dangerous.

This ugliness is limited to a few
NOT the entire republican party. McCain said during the last debate that he repudiated such comments from his supporters, yet the msm and certainly dailykos took his statement of how proud he is of his supporters out of context and making it seem like he condoned this behavior. Perhaps we can look at the T-shirts being flaunted around by Obama supporters with vulgar comments about Sarah Palin, and how when McCain tried to cnfront Obama on this, Obama sidestepped it. I am open minded enough to not in this behavior on all dems, so neither should any equally disgusting comments from McCain supporters be pinned on all republicans. This has been a very intense election, but the intensity is much stronger amongst the candidates' supporters and some of them, ON BOTH SIDES, have crossed the line. So if we are going to report this stuff, lets give equal time to each side and not just aimed at the reps. If I were a betting person, I'd bet my life on it that if the rep. candidate was black and the dem candidate was white, we'd see the exact same stuff happening "across the aisle". Dems are not the perfect party that they and the msm make them out to be. History proves it.

“Subject: Palin loves shopping and taxes

Palin modified the existing tax structure to a windfall tax.”

Yeah, not really. Alaska had a windfall profits tax before Palin graduated high school. This was recognized in their Constitutional convention for statehood:

"In 1955, Alaska was still a territory of the United States. Late that year, fifty-five people met in Fairbanks to write a constitution in preparation for statehood. The resulting document was viewed by many as a model constitution. Two themes present in the Constitution bear directly on the Permanent Fund.

The constitutional convention delegates saw the importance of resource development. Alaska has long been dependent on its natural resources. All the economic booms that Alaska had experienced, except the World War II military boom, had been caused by resource development. Furs, gold, then fish, were harvested and in the eyes of the delegates, the benefits from these harvests primarily went outside Alaska.

The constitutional convention delegates were not opposed to resource development, but they wanted Alaskans to get the maximum benefit. Thus, Article VIII of the Alaska Constitution, stressed just that:

Article VIII, Section 2, General Authority. The legislature shall provide for the utilization, development, and conservation of all natural resources belonging to the State, including land and waters, for the maximum benefit of its people."

Then:

“In 1976, the voters of Alaska passed a Constitutional amendment establishing the Alaska Permanent Fund. The amendment required the dedication of 25 percent of mineral bonuses, royalties and related income to a special fund to be put into income-producing investments. On June 30, 1983, the assets of the Fund stood at about $4.3 billion, a hefty sum by any standard.”

McCain doesn't need liberals to stick a knife in his back -- Palin is doing a great job of that all by herself.

In between shopping sprees, of course.

It's because of statements like that, not even written in 1st grade grammar.

Obama may get 22% of traitorous Pseudo-Cons like you, but he won’t get even .0001% of Archaic-Cons.

We Archaic-Cons are not voting against Obama because we are racists, but because we ascribe to a different political philosophy.

I cannot stress enough, that you have the right to reject the McCain-Palin ticket and support Obama-Biden ticket.

What I despise about you, is that you pretend to be something that you are not and you are working full time to sabotage the McCain-Palin ticket.

A while back, you wrote that Ann Coulter and Michael Moore were basically the same, but at opposite ends of the spectrum.

You are far worse than Michael Moore. You are a traitor in the midst of Conservatives.

You are execrable!

Throw as many 25 cent words in your reply as you want, but it won't make your argument any better. You know for a fact most professors are liberals, and most students that want A's will claim to be liberal and act that way in class. To say conservative principles and the students that harbor those principles aren't subjected to a hostile environment in class, is intellectually dishonest, and you know it.

regards :)

Will (Whatever)..Yeah right...
Nothing has changed since Roman times. sheesh. Thanks anyway for a heads up on the next LIB tactic on fooling the masses. Palin is the real thing but you guys do need to play dress up to compete! :)

Will (Whatever) YOU have the password
To a terrorist site? HELLO...HOMELAND SECURITY...YOU GUYS MONITORING THIS SITE? :)

On that mandate thing
I'm laughing so hard I'm crying - the dems aren't supposed to rule as if they have a mandate once you hand them a landslide - they'll have the powah! That's right - power! They will own the government lock stock and barrel probably for a generation or more.

Don't worry about those of us who value freedom - we'll fight our own battles thank you very much.

My advice to you, however, is drop that subversive talk about Obama not having a mandate ASAP and start singing the praises of the big "O" and I'm sure the Big "O" will be merciful.

some ancient history
In Rome, before the republic imploded, and after the common people were allowed to vote, there was a favorite form of politicking among wealthy candidates who were called "populares". They would pander to the lower classes, dress like them, use their idioms of speech, and pretend to be one of them. After campaigning, they would go back to their elegant neighborhoods, bathe, dress back into their normal clothes, and have their slaves serve them dinner.

I don't know if they went on 100,000 shopping sprees, but it's amazing how some things just never change.

Will the last (UN)American what ever...
Please save your BS...The ground work you guys have laid is now apparent to all...good for you! Time for Action now "Will whatever" ..Be bold... come out of the closet, gutter, sewer whatever...Its your time now...raise that LIB banner proud! :)

Robert - here's why
Al-Qaida supporters suggested in a Web site message this week they would welcome a pre-election terror attack on the U.S. as a way to usher in a McCain presidency.
The message, posted Monday on the password-protected al-Hesbah Web site, said if al-Qaida wants to exhaust the United States militarily and economically, "impetuous" Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain is the better choice because he is more likely to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"This requires presence of an impetuous American leader such as McCain, who pledged to continue the war till the last American soldier," the message said. "Then, al-Qaida will have to support McCain in the coming elections so that he continues the failing march of his predecessor, Bush."

Robert said
"Let me say again,I dislike McCain.BUT
i will be voting for him"

Apparently, that will make Osama bin Laden REALLY, REALLY happy!!

Renny said
"Not only are they (Democrats) trying to buy the race by dropping out of public funding and by owning the MSM"

Renny, I hate to burst your bubble but most of the MSM is owned by arch-conservatives.

JD2008
YOur statement that professors routinely mock conservative students is the perfect example of the right trading in folk-memes about the evil bad guys (Democrats) and the pure, well-intentioned guys (conservatives). You might stop and ask yourself sometime if these kinds of views are based on actual experience or just talk-show rhetoric that is designed to stir you up as a way to sell advertising.

Evil intellectuals are part of the conservative mythology, often used to discuss creationism, philosophy, and social movements. When things get out of hand, and ultra conservatives come into power, the mythology turns to arrest and execution; history shows it and any degree of spin you try to muster up won't change it.

Marginalizing people who trade in ideas and unpopular views are always a threat to people who's ideas can't withstand scrutiny. Take a look on this thread at what is happening to this columnist. She said that Palin should retire and had her life threatened, that's how it works.

JD2008...To add to your fine post...
Helo hunting is done ONLY by Professional hunters paid to do so by the Government. Think of it as like setting mouse traps to rid a house of vermin. sheesh.. :)

seems to me it's the ultra
liberal professors in colleges that routinely mock their conservative students, (like what happened in Colorado a couple months ago), or the entire left screams when the media won't completely fall into line, with pesky holdouts like fox news being willful. Hitler's propoganda minister Joel Goeble would be so impressed with Pelosi's "fairness" doctrine. The Chavez, Putin, and Hitler methods are in play here, but it's sure not from the right. It will be interesting when Putin makes a state visit here chiding our country on human rights for having a one party system because the minority parties are beaten down bu Obama's media.

Mod Mark ..OK..so now we look...

good post LOL :)

Jim..Trust your senses!
If it smells like sh*t...probably is! :)

I'm sure this has been said
but wolves are killed by choppers to keep the polar bear, moose, and caribou numbers up, otherwise the imbalance would cause Eskimos and Polar Bears to starve and decline even more. I wonder how many animals in California wildfires have perished because do-gooding liberals were outraged at conservatives for logging to control fire danger to forest. Granted (other than seeing wolf killing on a reply), this doesn't have anything to do with KP other than she's probably stupid enough to side with the ivory tower environmentalists on this topic.

Ugliness?
Let me see if I understand the choices I'm allowed to have as defined by this 'clum':

*if I vote third party, I'm a racist because I'm not voting for Obama.

*if I vote for Obama and don't admit it, I'm a racist.

*if I don't vote for Obama, and don't admit it, I'm a racist.

*if I vote for McCain, I'm a racist because I'm not voting for Obama.

*if I vote for the McCain/Palin ticket because I want to support Palin, I'm a stupid racist because I'm not voting for Obama.

*in short; if I don't vote for Obama and proclaim my choice as loudly as I can, I'm a racist.

Where is the ugliness coming from, again, exactly? Hmm?

Great Article
Parker is a real conservative.

Will the last American..whatever!
Hey..you may be on to something...I AM feeling like I want to throw the professors, intellectuals, journalists, teachers, and writers out a window! Ground floor of course! :)

As Colin, an Opportunist is Born
Lots of people try to estimate the speed of the bandwagon before they attempt to jump on; some forget that bandwagons can roll backward.

Colin the Appeaser and Buckley-the-lesser are clearly opportunistic, much like certain types of fungii. (medical note: a strong immune system usually can defeat such foes.)

I won't say that about Parker, who has shown evidence of genius in the past - (for those of you who are on the kick-Kathleen bandwagon)- and it really isn't nice to pick on people who once could have written circles around you. Call it writer's block, the change of life, whatever, but there was a star with some real powers of observation.

I do sense that something is very wrong, though.

Moshe
Your post was right-on. Whenever ultra-conservative, fascist governments come into power the professors, intellectuals, journalists, teachers, and writers are the first to be arrested or tossed out of windows.

It's not for nothing conservatives hate and fear intellectuals and teachers at the university level; it's not for nothing that they mistrust the educated and consider them to be "elite".

It's kind of amusing
how unaware all the fake conservatives like Parker and Noonan are as they board the unsinkable 2008 version of the Titanic skippered by Obama. When Obama rams straight into the iceberg of real world issues with no republicans to guide him, he'll be the first guy on the lifeboat still muttering Bush's fault. It will be amusing when most of Obama's new elite friends like KP find themselves without a seat on the life boat or a life preserver as they are dumped into the frigid water to join Rev Wright. At this point folks like KP, Wright, and Noonan will have served their purpose and now it's time to take one for the team, and start dog paddling. The only problem with all this is everyone is on the same doomed ship because the most gullible people in steerage voted him captain.

Ugly Is As Ugly Does
Parker, the only ugly I see is your post. Every one gets worse than the one before. Why don't you just quit while you're 'behind'

Rowly ... The madness is upon us...
The time to have changed it was squandered :(

Parker should join the lemmings
and get outn of the way.

That people like Colin Powell and a Buckley could consider the Great O anything but a shill for leftist tyranny is beyond rational understanding.

If Parker wants to join them, she can get off this site and go to Kos.

As far as ugliness, the racism and feminist angst have all been raised on the left.

The attacks on Joe the Plumber and Palin belie the mantra that the O campaign is post-partisan and going to unite us. Unless you are a bi-coastal elitist who feels guilty about having too much money, the O campaign is anti-middle class and anti-working people, disdains and scorns you.

And as the *erudite* and *eloquent* Jon Stewart just said to a *distinguished* Boston crowd, *F-Palin,* so I for one am so glad I am not one of those Boston elists and offer the same tribute to Mr. Stewart any day of the week.

Still Time To Stop The Madness.
The mind-numb robots still have time to look at all the incriminating evidence against this charlatan.

It will be too late for all of us if they don't come out of their swoon and wake up to the reality of Obama and his friends.

Hey Mod...
What say we make LuLu an offer to come aboard?

LuLu...calm down..let NOT
your buttons be pushed nor your heart be troubled....You have the spirit of a warrior. After slaying one move on to the next. Don't waste your time dismembering the fallen!

Socialism, Redistributing the Wealth
We have a choice between a republic, a free-market society, in which we have a chance to succeed or a socialist government.

I doubt if many of the electorate actually know what socialism is.

Reply to Jack #223
McCain is the only candidate who has tried to hold the rhetoric down. No one has called out Barny Frank, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi for their responsibility of the credit collapse through the part the played in Freddie Mack and Fannie Mae. The only one calling people racists are from the Obama camp. You liberals are leaving a definite bad odor among the American people.

The man is not even qualified to be an intern at any large business, yet you insist he is qualified to be the leader of the free world!!!

He is a snake oil salesman with the backing of very powerful people who see an opportunity to "change" America from a free market society to a totally government controlled society. Say hello to Cuba, China, and Russia. Argentina is another country that Obama thinks is the way to rule a country.

The key word is "rule." He is not interested in you ignorant Obamabots, just as Hitler was not interested in those who thought he was the Messiah of Germany. He was only interested in how he could use his followers. Are you that stupid? I guess so.

All his friends are communists, anarchists, or marxists. His 20 year family "pastor" is a 100% proof racist, he is chummy with a well-known domestic terrorist who thinks Timothy Mcvail is a hero.

These things are on file, in plain sight, yet anyone who states the obvious is labeled a "racist." Bring it on dummy. You really think the American people are that stupid?

Mod Mark...The victor after crossing ...
swords still works for me! NO hanging chards on board our ship! :)

Mod Mark
I never said she was jealous. I believe the word was yuck. I truly do believe the elites of both parties are absolutely repulsed by most Americans.

And this is just my personal opinion but I've always thought the elites were disgusted with the fecundity of the lower classes (you know all of us the peasants to their self-appointed nobility). Blue-collar love how dirty.

Although you do notice that Parker can't keep herself from commenting on Palin's good looks as if this should be held against her.

The hunting thing was mentioned because every four years we are subjected to the candidates saying they hunt or hunted to provide their bonafides as second amendment supporters and to some extent manly men. What disturbs the conservative elite is Palin really does hunt and not pheasant or some such but the lowly moose. To make it worse she field dresses her own kills and eats them. And she does not hunt moose from helicopters that is silly.

Response to Jane
"Are you saying that KP couldn't provide different insight and share her personal anguish over those topics? Or are you thinking you like the conservative who so willingly adds her voice to the liberal schtick?"

Jane, my point is that a deficiency I see in TownHall.com is the tendency to have multiple columnists essentially write the same one article a multitude of times. Seriously, 25 columnists warning me about the connection between Obama and Bill Ayers isn't enough, I need that final 26th to really understand the subtle nuances?

I understand that many hardcore conservatives are sore that Parker broke from party lines recently, however, what some of the comments here are saying essentially translates to, "I like to have opinions I already hold repeated back to me. Please clear TownHall.com of any columnists who don't do this"

Poor Moshe
writes: "I find it very humorous that many people who post here look at being well-educated and having an impressive vocabulary to be negative personality traits. Enjoy your strive toward mediocrity."

Being well educated (not hyphenated BTW) and having an impressive vocabulary do not make one acceptable. The comprehension and practical application of the aforementioned attributes determine whether they are too be considered positive or negative.

IOW: Actions speak louder than words!!!

Ugliness will now cost you $$$$
Michele Bachmann R-MN after her lets investigate who is "Un-American" rant on MSNBC the GOP yanked sending her campaign money even after she meekly apologized. As an incumbent in a conservative district her race is dead even and the Dem got a huge cash infusion. The days of the constant rightwing rant of who is a "Real American" is coming to a close.

Make it end!!
Okay, so Kathleen thinks that Palin isn't the right stuff (see Harry Truman) and there's no doubt that McCain is his own worst enemy. I DON'T CARE IF OBAMA IS BLACK!! In fact he's a great guy until you get to know him. That being said, it all comes down to protecting us from radical Islam and allowing partial-birth abortions 'cause neither one can "fix" the economy. What say you, Kathleen?

CORRECTION
First sentense of my post should of course read:

"Please point me to the article where Parker specifically criticized Sarah Palin for having a disabled child?"

Sorry for the typo

Lulu
"What is going on here is that Parker et al. are uncomfortable with Palin because she is not one of them. She gave birth to 5 children - yuck! Worse still one of them is disabled double yuck!"

Please point me to the article where Palin specifically criticized Sarah Palin for having a disabled child. If you can't, will you publicly admit that you just smeared Parker with a completely baseless, unfounded attack?

Moshe Doesn't Get It
Moshe: I find it very humorous that many people who post here look at being well-educated and having an impressive vocabulary to be negative personality traits. Enjoy your strive toward mediocrity.

Moshe, nobody said that having an impressive vocabulary is a negative personality trait. It's PARKER (and the MSM) who is making the case that since Palin doesn't have the vocabulary or speaking elegance therefore she is stupid or unfit for the job. I wish Palin was a little better in interviews and could rattle off policy like a Mitt Romney, but I don't hold that against her like Parker does.

Moshe ... Thats only because those types
Have been scr*wing us all of late... you Insipid vacuous miscreant! :)

LuLu...Give me a BREAK!....
It is the whole... Her not kissing establishment elitist a** thing that is the problem and you KNOW it! BTW... Obama HAS performed that act quite well :)

Lulu
Interesting points.

"No true conservative supports doing away with the second amendment."

Neither does Parker

"No true conservative votes for a Marxist." Good thing there are no Marxists running for President. Oh I get it... you mean Obama. Obama is not a MArxist. That is a fear laden fabrication of far right wing crazy people.

"Would you call someone a liberal who would vote for Pat Buchanan? I don't think so."

Depends on what they thought about issues and why they voted for him.

"Parker has every right to vote for whom she pleases and to express her opinions. But she has to expect that if she portrays herself as a conservative when she is not people are going to notice and call her on it."

That would be fine. But that's not what has happened here, is it?

"Your defense of Parker stems from her supporting your candidate and attempting to sabotage the Republican ticket."

This is absolutely wrong. I defend Parker in this case becasue she stand as an example of opposition to fear and smear tactics of the right wing.

"How would you define a conservative? Since you are so sure Parker is one what conservative views does she hold."

Why would I care? If she says she a conservative, that's enough for me. You folks are the ones who are alienating everyone to teh left of Attila the Hun, not me.

Bizarro World
I find it very humorous that many people who post here look at being well-educated and having an impressive vocabulary to be negative personality traits. Enjoy your strive toward mediocrity.

Parker is an elitist
Just because Sarah has no degrees and drops her g's as in darlin' or needin' that she has no business running for such a high office as vice-president. The problem is, she has more common sense in her little finger than all of the so-called intelligencia combined.

In fact, those who denounce her as unqualified for her position should be called whatever it is you call those who are against women in power. She is hands down more qualified for her post than Obama is for his ambition as POTUS! He has absolutely no executive experience. Sarah has. He has no idea how to run a business. Sarah does. He has no clue about anything unless it's been spoon-fed to him. Sarah has ideas and she lets you know what they are. Take it or leave it.

Sophie...If you must continue to ...
Disparage the Republican ticket at least... refer to it as.... Bimbo/McCain :)

Jack says:
All those people are conservatives. Real conservatives. The problem is that you folks are so deluded that you can only tolerate conservative opinions with which you agree. Why? Because anything that challenges your narrow, solipsistic view of the world makes you so uncomfortabel you can;'t stand it.

I think you described Parker et al very well. If Romney was the VP pick or better still the Presidential pick Parker et al would be more than happy to have the same supporters and tactics she criticizes in the current campaign. What is going on here is that Parker et al. are uncomfortable with Palin because she is not one of them. She gave birth to 5 children - yuck! Worse still one of them is disabled double yuck! She is sexually appealing and clearly active yuck again. She attends a Protestant church that doesn't just pretend to be Christian oh no! Her husband is gasp blue collar and this is where it gets really scary masculine. She hunts large animals and field dresses them when we all know candidates are only supposed to pretend to hunt to get elected and certainly nothing as low-class as moose. And then she's from Alaska -- is that really a state? And her greatest sin she doesn't know that she should let her betters govern the nation and herself -- how can anyone think they have a right to govern when they didn't attend a university on the approved list.

Advice from Former Kathleen Parker Fan
I have to admit that before the infamous "Palin" column Kathleen was one of my favorites on Townhall. I like her smart commentary and her topics (much Like David Limbaugh and Larry Elder) are always spot on, relevant to what is happening. But when you associate with the high-brow elites where intelligence is based upon the college you go to and how many big words you use in a sentence, Kathleen just couldn't defend Palin anymore to her latte-sipping friends. She would lose her credibility and felt she might be replaced by another approval seeking country club conservative. Kathleen, you had a chance to tell your friends the genious of Sarah Palin, that her intelligence didn't come in the form of a fancy vocabulary but her ability to connect with people, to communicate to them in words they can understand, unscripted and from the heart. Can't you see that connecting and communicating with people has nothing to do with how articulate your speech is? Kathleen, you made your mind up to soon about Palin, and now you have to sleep in the bed you made. I wish you luck.

Mod Mark..I am hoping this election ends
On 5 Nov 08...But I would not place a bet on that happening! :)

And Jack resorts
to name-calling. Way to make an argument. No true conservative supports doing away with the second amendment. No true conservative votes for a Marxist.

Would you call someone a liberal who would vote for Pat Buchanan? I don't think so.

Parker has every right to vote for whom she pleases and to express her opinions. But she has to expect that if she portrays herself as a conservative when she is not people are going to notice and call her on it.

Your defense of Parker stems from her supporting your candidate and attempting to sabotage the Republican ticket.

How would you define a conservative? Since you are so sure Parker is one what conservative views does she hold.

Poor Pagan Sophie
You don't understand the right, Palin is Gold!
She rescued McCain and has given him a chance.

Do you know what's really funny????

None of this would have happened if Obama had picked Hillary!!!

McCain/Palin at the finish line!!!

After a re-read
I have to agree with those who are upset at Ms. Parker's column.

Her basic thesis is correct but the overall impression one is left with is that the real "ugliness" is coming from the McCain/Palin camp.

Make this a one check column, at best.

But Moshe
"Well, geez, I sure hope so, because heaven knows the dozens upon dozens of existing articles already written about those subjects here at TownHall.com aren't nearly enough. "

Are you saying that KP couldn't provide different insight and share her personal anguish over those topics? Or are you thinking you like the conservative who so willingly adds her voice to the liberal schtick?

America’s Next President
Good by George and Richard. We will certainly miss you both a great deal, given the deep understanding and sound judgment you demonstrated in committing our country to an invasion and a very expensive protracted war in Iraq. And many thanks also for keeping a close regulatory eye on Wall Street and our mortgage lending and banking system during your 8 year watch. Sorry Bill and Hillary. Of course we really wanted to have you back again so that Bill could have another shot at some more action with interns in the oval office; and we will certainly miss not being able to hear all the details of such encounters. Too bad John and Sarah. We will always be deeply grateful to you, John, for clearly putting the needs of our country above petty politics in choosing your running mate. But, Sarah, unfortunately it looks like we may never get a chance to fulfill our wildest dream of someday having President Palin lead the free world. On the other hand Barack Obama isn’t all that much, is he? He is merely an intelligent, articulate, and insightful 47 year old biracial man, a top of his class graduate of Harvard Law School and president of its Law Review, a former instructor in constitutional law for 12 years at the University of Chicago Law School, a 3 term Illinois State Senator and US Senator for the past 4 years, a Washington outsider who wants to make significant changes in Washington. Come to think of it. Welcome Barack Obama!

Lulu
I have an 8 year old Pit Lab mix named Lulu. And she's a damned site more politically astute than you are.

All those people are conservatives. Real conservatives. The problem is that you folks are so deluded that you can only tolerate conservative opinions with which you agree. Why? Because anything that challenges your narrow, solipsistic view of the world makes you so uncomfortabel you can;'t stand it.

In the end you will find yourself huddled alone in a dark room, listening to a battery powered transistor radio tuned permanently to Rush Limabugh.

Enough Already
Will somebody please get Kathleen Parker off this site. She makes me want to puke. It was really irritating the first several times. It is something else entirely now.

The truth is
that Parker has never been a conservative. She supports gun bans for goodness sake. She is a woman who has made her money being a token conservative in the MSM much like David Gergen who worked in the Clinton whitehouse - but the media brings out as a conservative political analyst.

The more disturbing truth is that there are a bunch of conservative elites Buckley, Noonan, Will, et al. who are not loyal to any political philosophy rather they are loyal to the idea of a country run by a group of self-appointed elites that deem certain schools, political appointments, parents, or other connections as the requirement for membership in their ruling elite.

The Democrats are just as guilty although they advocate sending checks to their useless idiots, The Republican elites expect their idiots to bend-over and take it or they'll take their ball and go home.

Change is coming alright, but Obama is not it. Our political leaders, corporate leaders, media, and educational leaders have screwed us all. They have exacerbated an underlying populism that is just waiting to get out. Congratulations to the elites.

Unsuitable Palin?
Amazing how they call her "unsuitable", yet she is the one that revived the McCain campaign. She draws huge crowds and has more executive experience. She's simply unsuitable to KP because, A. She's too pretty B. She didn't attend a snob university C. She is just too doggone plain...she's too much like "regular" people.

When crazed libs are "lib wannabes" keep saying she is unsuitable and not qualified and all the other sleeze comments, you can bet one one thing for sure.....They are afraid of her and they know she is perfectly qualified.

Of course, we do not expect libs, KP, to think she is suitable. So, who cares what the libs say or think of her.

Palin is loved in conservative circles and you can take that to the bank!

OOOps
I meant "Bible Spice" is funny
I also like Cariboo Barbie
and Obama Bin Biden

Repent Sophie
You're running out of time!

PS I like "Barbie Spice" That's funny
I call Kathleen Parker "Washington Rose"

Mod Mark...when you start believing
what Oil companies say? :)

You ARE kidding here....
"Paling around with a terrorist" is a very nice spin on the truth of Obama's professional and personal associations. In this regard Obama is also guilty as hell and free as a bird.

In regard to the importance of Obama's associations, mentors, teachers and books that inspire, it's rather like you Obama fans think the man was given birth like Athena coming straight from the mind of Zeus. Nothing in his background or his life has any meaning in understanding "who" this man is. We are supposed to believe that everything that comes forth from his mouth--both sides of it--is the reality.

As regards the accusations of Obama's Muslim connections, there is lots of concrete evidence, but it has NEVER been part of McCain and Palin's campaign. In the meantime, you apparently think questioning Obama's past is equivalent to putting Palin's baby up for sale on Ebay; to lying about McCain's military service; to calling McCain a racist because he has a white woman in his commercial; to calling McCain a racist because he has a black person in his commercial; to calling McCain a racist because he questions the Ayers association (which, BTW, would prevent Obama from getting a clearance to be his own assistant). I've been on the blogs for several months and no one is meaner or uglier than the Obama supporters. No one. They put out commercials using children against Palin; they say Palin's husband commits incest and the Washington Post prints it as news; they threaten outright to "do away with" all conservatives, "repugnicants" and neocons. They never discuss issues; they just call names.

Interesting
Ms. Parker appears to be using the tried and true liberal writing style. Don't use facts, make it one-sided, and whine about not getting her way.

She forgets to mention that Obama has spent more on negative ads than McCain. She also appears to believe that calling everyone who uses facts against Obama is racist.

At least she could be honest and just admit that she is a RINO/CINO if not a true Marxist shill.

Translation of Kay's Post
"I prefer TownHall to be an echo chamber. Please take off of the site any writers who dare hold an opinion that is different from Republican groupthink".

Kathleen Parker his rock bottom
Unbelievable. Like her liberal co-hort comedians and documentary authors, she manages to link an extreme and minority fringe to alleged motives and viewpoints of the majority and the candidates.

Honestly, Kathleen, do you really think Palin stokes the fire to insinuate Obama is a Muslim? If the facts demonstrate that Obama is a friend and colleague of Ayers, and Ayers was a degenerate terrorist - unrepentent at that, making him still a terrorist - then doesn't that constitute a fact that Obama "pals around with terrorists?". Besides, isn't Ayers white?

Doesn't the fact that Obama has lied repeatedly - about somehow not hearing what "reverend" Wright said after 20 years of sitting in a pew of his Black liberation theology cult? About Ayers? About what he actually said to Joe the Plumber? The man's character is flawed through and through, and it deserves to be raked over the coals.

This article demonstrates the dangers of PC run amok - that any criticisms of a black candidate's character hint at racism. It is absurd! Kathleen is a disaster.

Jane
"So the next article from KP
will be the truth about the thuggish anctics of the Obama campaign and its supporters?

Perhaps she could bemoan Obama's acceptance of 500M worth of non-verifiable campaign contributions? Or delve into Obama's ties to ACORN? Or even discuss the Left's attack on Joe The Plumber?"

Well, geez, I sure hope so, because heaven knows the dozens upon dozens of existing articles already written about those subjects here at TownHall.com aren't nearly enough.

Townhall--get rid of Parker
I respectfully request that Townhall remove Parker from their roster of writers.

Her anti-conservative remarks are used by left wingers as an example of "see, your own columnists don't even like the GOP nominees." Most recently was that UGLY woman on "the View" who used Parker to mock the lone conservative. (Parker just gets the willies at the idea of ugliness.)

I do not appreciate Townhall sponsoring this anti-conservative writer and holding conservatives up to ridicule.

Conservatism
Mrs. Parker is from South Carolina, I think. Lincoln, after South Carolina seceded, his Secretary of War, Edwin Stanton said of the state,Ed Stanton, "it is too big for an asylum and too small for a state." Seems like at least one of its citizens still qualifies for the asylum.
