What was the biggest suprise of Election Day?

On any given day, one isn't likely to find common cause with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He's a dangerous, lying, Holocaust-denying, Jew-hating cutthroat thug -- not to put too fine a point on it.

But he was dead-on when he wondered why a once-great power such as Britain sends mothers of toddlers to fight its battles.

Ahmadinejad characterized the release of 15 British sailors and marines, including one woman, seized at sea last month as a gift to Britain. In reality, the hostages were the West's gift to Ahmadinejad.

When a pretender to sanity like Ahmadinejad gets to lecture the West about how it treats its women, we've effectively handed him a free pass to the end zone and made the world his cheerleaders.

Not only does the Iranian president get to look magnanimous in releasing the hostages, but he gets to look wise. And we in the West get to look humiliated, foolish and weak.

Just because we may not ``feel'' humiliated, doesn't mean we're not. In the eyes of Iran and other Muslim nations, we're wimps. While the West puts mothers in boats with rough men, Islamic men ``rescue'' women and drape them in floral hijabs.

We can debate whether they're right until all our boys wear aprons, but it won't change the way we're perceived. The propaganda value Iran gained from its lone female hostage, the mother of a 3-year-old, was incalculable.

It is not fashionable these days to suggest that women don't belong in or near combat -- or that children need their mothers. Yes, they need their fathers, too, but children in their tender years are dependent on their mothers in unique ways.

There's not enough space here to go into all the ways that this is true, but children (and good parents) know the difference even if some adults are too dim, brainwashed or ideologically driven to see what's obvious.

Why the West has seen it necessary to diminish motherhood so that women can pretend to be men remains a mystery to sane adults. It should be unnecessary to say that the military is not a proper vehicle for social experimentation, but a machine dedicated to fighting and, if necessary, killing.

Women may be able to push buttons as well as men, but the door-to-door combat in Fallujah proved the irrelevance of that argument. Meanwhile, no one can look at photos of the 15 British marines and sailors and argue convincingly that the British Navy is stronger for the presence of Leading Seaman Faye Turney -- no matter how lovely and brave she may be. ...There's more ...
Julie darlin', I DO proudly proclaim this nation as mine. I adore the men (and women) who defend her. I appreciate the beauty of her and the wonderful opportunities she offers. I was born and raised here, an ORIGINAL AMERICAN, and I am sick of people like you who have done your damndest to ruin her with your socialist/communist ideas. It is my kind of people who settled this country and who tried to keep it a safe, sane and RESPECTED country. The Civil War was fought to keep this great country TOGETHER and it pisses me off royally when I hear the vituperous poison that people like you apply to anybody and everybody YOU don't like and who doesn't agree with you. People like you make me ashamed of my country's inhabitants ... your type has damn near split her down the middle; and jeez, Julie, since you are such a brainiac, how come you can't spell "pus"? Probably because you are one?

To Julie, with Love
She sez:
"How dare assholes like you question the patriotism of Americans like me because we're not the brain-dead idiots those like you are gladly leading us to the worst place we've been as a nation in modern times. I'm sick of nitwits like you getting away with claiming this nation as yours and the rest of us as those who should go elsewhere where we'd be more appreciated. How about you and yours heading out to someplace and leaving this nation to those of us who actually reflect the original intent of its inception better then the idiocy you profess to? Where on this earth could the Americans who spout the crap you do be appreciated anymore? No place left....thanks to the likes of you, most of the world now looks negatively upon us...and if you were anything but the chest pounding gorilla american you are - you'd feel the same. Your perspective only fits when you feel like you're the top of the heap. Stupidity isn't appealling whether it's from the right or the left."

Right back atcha Sweetheart! I'm not one of those such as yourself, who's backstabbing our President and calling him every name in the book. It's people like (the so-called "we want to work together" lying left-wing lugnut political pimps you probably voted for) and you, showing your disrespect of America (and our President) to the world that has led to America being looked at as an aggressor. HE IS our President and undermining him at every turn is NOT going to bring peace - much as your twisted little mind wishes it. It's your type's blubbering "peace at any price" attitude that has wussified this great country - that and your stinkin' "political correctness" bullsh1t. I don't give a white-hot damn what you proclaim as your patriotism; when you undermine, name-call, disrespect the OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - YOU ARE NO AMERICAN! I stand by my original suggestion...drag your nasty @ss someplace else where you may be appreciated. It certainly isn't here!
