Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

When an abortion provider in Wichita, Kan., was murdered, the predictable chorus pointed fingers at Fox News' Bill O'Reilly. After all, O'Reilly had said that George Tiller was a "baby killer" and had railed against the doctor's late-term abortion practice for years. He must be to blame! No one bothered to ask whether Tiller's accused murderer had ever watched O'Reilly, or to ponder whether a militant pro-life extremist really needed a talk-show host to tell him anything he didn't already know about one of less than a dozen doctors in the country who still performed third-trimester abortions.

But, never mind. Such details don't matter when you're trying to delegitimize people.

Now we have James von Brunn. He is an 88-year-old loon, considered a dangerous nut even within the dangerous-nut community. He took his gun and shot up the Holocaust Museum and murdered a guard. Reporting suggests that von Brunn wanted to fulfill his revenge fantasies against the Jewish-neocon globalist cabal, which apparently outsources much of its work to the Bush family. A 9/11 truther, convinced that the bagel-snarfing, string-pulling Jooooooooooozzz are behind everything, von Brunn is the kind of fanatic the zombies who talk to themselves at the bus station would give a wide berth.

*** Special Offer ***

But, of course, we have Sarah Palin to thank for von Brunn. So says some genius at the Daily Kos. A competing braniac at the Huffington Post says, "Thank you very much Karl Rove and your minions." Pretty much the entire media establishment is comfortable labeling von Brunn as a member of the "far right." Putting aside other objections to that nomenclature, if von Brunn is a member of the far right, then it would be helpful and journalistically responsible if the press would start calling Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, Sean Hannity, et al., moderates and centrists.

That won't happen, because the whole point of these exercises is to paint the right as an undifferentiated blob of evil.

Never mind that von Brunn isn't a member of the far right. Nor is he a member of the far left, as some on the right are claiming. He's not a member of anything other than the crazy caucus. Von Brunn's True North is conspiratorial anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism. He's not a member of the Christian Right. In fact, he denounces Christianity -- just as Hitler did -- as a Jewish plot against paganism and Western vigor. Nor is he a capitalist. Again, just as Hitler did, he hails socialism as the solution to the West's problems.

Still, if we are going to play this game where we take the words of politicians and pundits, compare them to the words of murderers and psychopaths, and then assign blame accordingly, then let's blame the New York Times, Chris Matthews, left-wing blogs everywhere and the academics who penned "The Israel Lobby" (which blames a fifth column of Israel loyalists for our troubles).

After all, for years, mainstream liberalism and other outposts of paranoid Bush hatred have portrayed neoconservatives -- usually code for conservative Jews and other supporters of Israel -- as an alien, pernicious cabal. "They have penetrated the culture at nearly every level from the halls of academia to the halls of the Pentagon," observed the New York Times. "... They've accumulated the wherewithal financially (and) professionally to broadcast what they think over the airwaves to the masses or over cocktails to those at the highest levels of government."

NBC's Chris Matthews routinely used the word "neocon" as if it was code for "traitor." He asked one guest whether White House neocons are "loyal to the Kristol neoconservative movement, or to the president?" Von Brunn may have wondered the same thing, which is why he reportedly had the offices of Bill Kristol's "Weekly Standard" on his hit list.

Unhinged Bush-hater Andrew Sullivan insists that, "The closer you examine it, the clearer it is that neoconservatism, in large part, is simply about enabling the most irredentist elements in Israel and sustaining a permanent war against anyone or any country who disagrees with the Israeli right." Leading liberal intellectual Michael Lind warned about the alarming fact that "the foreign policy of the world's only global power is being made by a small clique" of neoconservative plotters.

Even with Bush out of the picture, some see the problem emerging again. Just this week, Jeremiah Wright, the president's longtime mentor and pastor, whined that, "Them Jews aren't going to let him talk to me."

Maniacs like von Brunn connect dots that aren't there because that's what paranoid anti-Semites do. What's the left's excuse?

Of course Von Brunn was a lunatic, as was the guy who killed Tiller. That is a given.

But, what Liberals miss is that Tiller and the things that he was involved in was also the act of a Lunatic.

As for Anti-Smitism, you can partly blame Obama, who is obviously Anti-Semitic himself.

Observe Obama's behavior. He Bowed to the King of Muslims in Saudi Arabia, while snubbing Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, when Netanyahu paid a state visit to Obama.

The election of Obama, unleashed the Lunacy Of The Leftists in this country, and Obama has not made one statment denouncing the outrageous behaviors of ACORN who organized Hate Tours of CEO homes and the Outrageous behaviors of Militant Gays who have Invaded Churches thus disrupting services and assaulting little old ladies carrying Bibles.

Obama is single handedly responsible for the Violence From the Left, including the Murder of the U.S. Soldier by a Homegrown Muslim Terrorist. Obama gave the Leftist Extremists in this country a Green Light. If not, why has he not denounced any of their activities? The same goes for the Communist Run Mains Stream Media Outlets, especially NBC and CNN.

Morality is Right Wing Extremism
To be considered a Right Wing Extremist in Obama World is: (1) to believe in The U.S. Constitution; (2) Believe In Having A Representative Democracy; (3) To Be A Praciticing and Believing Christian; (4) To Be a Free-Market Capitalist; (5) To Have A Work Ethic; (6) To Believe in the Sanctity of Life, incuding the Protection of the Unborn; (7) To Believe In A Balanced Budget; (8) To Believe In Family Values Versus Power of the State over Families; (9) In short, to have moral values and to believe in the Values, Traditions, Customs of the United States of America;

If you happen to be a U.S. Citzen who loves this country and what It Stood for for over 200 years of our great history, according to the Obama Doctrine, you Are A Right Wing Extremist.

So, given Obama's Definition, I am Proud to Be a Right Wing Extremist who favors Truth over The Serial Liar Obama and His MSM Cheerleaders and Propagandists.

Ridiculous
Mr. Goldberg, you do yourself and your fellow conservatives no favors by responding to two vicious, hate-filled murders with whining and complaints. Defensive bleating about how unfair it is to label these extremists as "right-wing" coupled with a fatuous, shaky argument about the left wing media is not a strong reply to bloodshed motivated by religious and racial hatred. Where is your outrage at the brutality and inhumanity of these two murders? You paint Mr. von Brunn as a lunatic, but nowhere do you condemn his assault on the Holocaust Museum, nor do you speak out against the murder of George Tiller, whose assassin you euphemistically call a "militant pro-life extremist" and do not even name. If you wish to curb the supposed media excesses on the left you would do well to set them an example instead of cynically employing a pair of hate crimes to harp yet again upon this well-worn string.

Ditto Carlos in Ca
I agree with You Carlos. Right On and Right On.

Connecting my own dots
I think the stimulus is a real bad plan because I see it as all pork. Therefore I do not agree with President Obama. Therefore I am a right wing extremist just like von Brunn.

Am I a right wing extremist?
I think people should be free to do what they want as long as they don't infringe on someone else's freedom. I'm for govt not spending more than it takes in. I'm for energy independence. And I think states should be more independent. Maybe you're the extremist.

IX-XI Bill truly values his opinion.
His attempts to position himself between the extreme left and extreme right is so calculated that its stupid. And I hate it when he won't let a guy finish his thought as if he is the expert. But then again - he gets the numbers.

Blame O'Reilly?
O'Reilly is incapable of intellectual honesty. Every position he takes is a result of relentless focus grouping. So you get a man who favors low taxes and less regulation of the markets, who nonetheless harps constantly on the bad guys who run "Big Oil" and how they must be stopped.

When O'Reilly takes a position I agree with it can be thrilling to see him go on the attack against my political opponents.

But invariably he reverts to whatever populist position the focus group indicates will get the most audience, meaning you can never be sure where the man will come down on any issue if you are looking for honesty and intellectual character.

Once I figured out the Rosetta Stone of O'Reilly's positions (focus group data) it became easy to predict his stance on any and all issues that come on his show. I used to be frustrated with him--how I'm just disgusted.

Knowing that he takes positions for ratings and that this is obvious to anyone who watches the show with any regularity, I find it hard to swallow that he would motivate anyone to go down to Tiller's place with a gun in his hand. It's quite obvious that Big Papa himself doesn't believe what he's saying half the time.

I used to watch every episode of "The Factor." Having three or four episodes stacked up on the DVR was just fine--I could watch and listen, and mostly agree. But once the pattern of intellectual dishonesty revealed itself with the Rosetta Stone of focus-grouping populist positions, I just can't watch him anymore. There's an extra 37 minutes in my day now.

As for Tiller, whether he deserved vigilante "justice" or not, justice indeed awaits.

This is irrefutable proof...
This is irrefutable proof von Brunn was a racist, murdering rightwinger.

James Van Brunn was a frequent poster on the far-rightwing hate site "Free Republic".

His postings were well accepted by the "Freepers".

His hateful screed "Obama is Missing" is signed by him, IN HIS FULL NAME, James W. von Brunn, on December 02, 2008 It is still up on that site... check it out before it's removed.

His Free Republic nick was "wannabegeek"... read his other rightwing hate posts.

Google "Obama is Missing"

Type in user, wannabegeeknd and read von Brunn's racist rants as well as the far rightwing "Freepers" hateful, SUPPORTIVE responses.

Ridiculous
Why all the comparisons between the Tiller killing and the Army Recruiter killing, other than Rush and the others told you to make that comparison? Is anyone on the Left making any sort of justification for the Recruiter being killed? Are there laws specifically designed to protect people at military recruiting sites because of all the crimes and violent protests that have occurred at them? Of course not.

Everyone is against the killing of Pvt. Long. To try to equate hate on the Left with what is spewed on the Right is ridiculous. That's why that government report specifically mentioned right-wing extremists. This is obviously regarding people on the very right fringe. Most people on this board are nowhere near that extreme but Rush, Hannity, Beck and Levin are getting closer and closer every day.

Sotomayor and Affirmative Action??
Sotomayor and Affirmative Action??

Affirmative Action is A Biased Philosophy. Why should Special Treatment Only Go To People of Color? I think that we whites should demand Affirmative Action too.

It does not matter if you are a person of color and do not qualify to attend a prestigeous university. Affirmative Action said, "to hell with test scores, ability, and intelligence, you have to admit certain students based on gender or race, and after you are forced to accept them, you have to insure that they give the appearance of succeeding by passing them on and graduating them whether or not they could complete the course work." We now have many doctors, lawyers, Especially Politicians, teachers, nurses, and others who are incompetent, but licensed and have prestigeous credentials on their walls that they did not earn, because they were incapable of earning them." Affirmative action has put many incompetents in positions of power, and this is very dangerous.

Sonia Sotomayor, Obama's pick for the Supreme Court of the U.S. was on TV this week bragging about the fact they she got a Yale Law Degree and Undergraduate Degree without having the requisite intelligence and the accompanying test scores, thanks to Affirmative Action. And she said this with Pride.

With Reverse Affirmative Action, I should be Guaranteed a Spot on the LA Laker Team, complete with Multi-Million dollar salary, even though I am only 5 foot 10, I am white, and I cannot Jump, Cannot Shoot, but hey, what does ability, talent and skills have to do with it?

Afterall, the Average White Guy is the most discriminated against group in our society today. Maybe, we will take my case to the Supreme Court, and see how a Wise, Clumsy, Latino, Lesbian broad will rule?? I know an Intelligent White Guy would likely rule in my favor, if he is upholding the Letter of the Law of Affirmative Action, which Says, Ability and Qualification Does Not Matter.

Obama Responsible for Muslim Terrorism
If we are to connect the dots, let's connect the dots of Barack Hussein Obama, who was elected in November 2008, and ever since then, every lunatic fringe in the United States believe they now have a green light: Militant Gays Attack Little Old Ladies and invade churches screaming obscenities. Illegal Aliens demonstrate for Full and Equal Citizen Rights after already violated our laws by being here illegally. Home Grown Muslim Radical murders a U.S. Army recruiter in Arkansas.

So, is Obama responsible for all the Lunatics and Terrorists who have surfaced and been emblodened since his election? In fact, I think so. The Leftists and other enemies of the United States have a Green Light With Obama as President. He Made All The Leftist Lunatics Promises, and he is upholding his promises to them.

Obama just Bailed Out The UAW at the expense of share and bond holders at GM and Chrysler. Obama is using our U.S. Treasury like his own personal Slush Fund to pay back his cronies, and to expand the size and scope of U.S. Welfare and other Government programs as a way of Locking Himself and the Socialists in Congress for Total and Complete Fascist Power.

Wake up America. Connect the dots that lead to Obama, The Socialists in Congress, and the Enemies of the United States that they serve.

MSDNC
I would think the Bush-hating rantings and 9/11 conspirators at Need Barack's Consent (NBC) have more to do with twisted minds like von Brunn than Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh. The hate spewed forth by Maddow and Olberman are far more vicious than anything found on the right. If anyone encouraged this nutjob it was them. They are far more likely to agree with his politics than any on the right.

Still Responsible for Our OWN Actions
A society that protects free speech is predicated on the belief that the individual has the responsibility to discern insanity from truth. Self-restraint is really the only boundary between order and chaos.

Weak-minded people are always looking for a scapegoat.

I think we should go after Salinger..
He made Chapman murder John Lennon.

Irredentist
Had to look up this word. Never heard of it, thought that it was a misspelling, but couldn't figure it out. It means property that hasn't been redeemed. Or, property that was formerly owned but has now passed into other hands. It's too late and I haven't got a brain left so that's where I will leave you.
I always enjoy Jonah. He is always pertinent, sticks to his point and makes a clear argument. I have been reading more of the other columnists in this Town Hall board, and there are some who, although they are conservatives and I agree with their stand, they make rash statements which they don't bother to corroborate and drone on and on about stuff and never make a valid conclusion.

Has anyone else noticed the resemblance?
Check out the resemblance between von Brunn and James Carville? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Carville) Shave von Brunn's head, add wire-frame glasses and these two are identical twins.

"when americans say a supreme court ruling should be ignored because they personally believe it is unconstitutional than we give justification for crazies like von brunn to attack the government." When the government supports something which is blatantly immoral, it is the duty of the citizen to oppose it. An example would be the sterilization laws passed by states in the '20s, which were all found constitutional against a challenge by conservative Christians. The opposition to slavery was mostly illegal, especially in the South where even talking about abolition was treason to the state. The Fugitive Slave Act was widely ignored and broken by the Underground Railroad and other citizens. Mob action was taken in some cases to release captured slaves. There's nothing sacred about an evil law.

Christianlib
That Scalia said the same thing, rather than negating my point, sustains it. The politics of the judge should be irrelevent to the case at hand. This is why judges should have an interpretive, rather than an activist role in the dispensation of law. The problem now is that there is so much law, because of activist rulings, that it requires an inhuman amount of understanding to interpret. Rather than moving away from political domination over legal decisions, the judiciary, by default of its inability to interpret the complexities of multitudinous precedents, is almost encouraged to rule from a political agenda rather than from judicial consideration.

What?
Not one word on the race of Mr Johns?
Excuse my wonder, but I get confused when race matters and when it doesn't.

unperson
are you aware that scalia said the same thing in white v. minnesota republican party as sotomayor?

here is the quote and the link.

In fact, however, the judges of inferior courts often “make law,” since the precedent of the highest court does not cover every situation, and not every case is reviewed. Justice Stevens has repeatedly expressed the view that a settled course of lower court opinions binds the highest court. See, e.g., Reves v. Ernst & Young, 494 U.S. 56, 74 (1990) (concurring opinion); McNally v. United States, 483 U.S. 350, 376-377 (1987) (dissenting opinion).

This complete separation of the judiciary from the enterprise of “representative government” might have some truth in those countries where judges neither make law themselves nor set aside the laws enacted by the legislature. It is not a true picture of the American system. Not only do state-court judges possess the power to “make” common law, but they have the immense power to shape the States’ constitutions as well. See, e.g., Baker v. State, 170 Vt. 194, 744 A. 2d 864 (1999). Which is precisely why the election of state judges became popular.[n12]

the military recruiter killings
were all over the media.

just google it and you will see every major news outlet carried it.

on the other hand what about the 4 police officers killed in the northeast by guys claiming obama was going to take their guns.

that wasn't much of a covered story at the time either.

The looney Left
which compares Jews to Nazis created the climate in which it was easy for a wacko to grab his gun and go over to the Holocaust Museum to kill people. Yes, I blame the Far Left with its conspiracy theories for this one (although I suspect that Pat Buchanan is also probably smiling since he is such a Jew-hater). Matthews et al should be ashamed of themselves. Don't even start me on the pathetic Andrew Sullivan who has his undies twisted in a knot over Miss California.

And the Army Recruiter?
Did Code-Pink protesting military recruiting stations in California -- cause the death of the Army Recruiter?

If you haven't heard about the death of the Army recruiter, it's understandable -- the Media didn't cover much of that.

Also
While intellegent people make up their own minds some really stupid people are making laws and enacting policies that will have long-term rammifications that will further limit freedom while reporters dance and sing about how brilliant they are.

Again
I point to Golberg's article which didn't really point to anyone but the killer. The point I'm making is that there are individuals within political movements who act without orders. In fact, I would say that the individual was there before the political movement. To cast these actions in political terms is incorrect unless one political movement is defending itself against another. In the matter of reporting, there was no reason to assume that either of the killers were receiving orders from anyone other than their neighbor's dogs. The fact that another reporter or a political movement were introduced into the stories at all is suspect and meriting of defense.

Who?
"In fact, he denounces Christianity -- just as Hitler did -- as a Jewish plot against paganism and Western vigor. Nor is he a capitalist. Again, just as Hitler did, he hails socialism as the solution to the West's problems."

Is Jonah talking about Hitler or Obama? Except for mentioning Hitler in the paragraph, he could have been talking about Obama.

Fer Sure
I'll grant you, I'm biased, but at least I'm aware of it. It appears to me that a lot of people are not aware of their own biases and act on the assumption that thier way of thinking is absolute. I can be pursuaded by a sound argument. As to the rule of law: It seems to me that the law has lost its way. Sotomayor expressed part of the problem when she let slip her understanding that circuit court judges are making the law. The quantity of legal precedent has made it impossible for the average American to understand what is or isn't legal, a state of mind once rooted in simple Christian values now muddled by political interests. In the matter of abortion, any debate on the constitutionality of Roe v. Wade has been undermined by political movements desiring to further thier hold on every individual's body. The point that there is no way to prove that a human life begins at conception cuts both ways. While doing the right thing should seem natural, the hue and cry coming from advocates of Roe v. Wade sounds rehearsed to me.

unperson
again, i can understand you believing that way but as i wrote in another post, i believe americans are intelligent and can sort this out.

i don't believe that the media has blamed oreilly, (although both left and right media personalities need to be more vigilant in making sure they don't cross the line from legitimate debate to demagoguery).

on the other hand, yesterday and today conservative pundits yelled that von brunn was a leftist
(see wratwranglers post)which is just as ridiculous as accusing oreilly.

I Mispoke
I was destracted by the murder of Tiller. Interesting, I don't think anyone has actually reported, with any consistency, the name of the dude who killed him. The reporting has been designed to create the illusion that O'Reilly killed Tiller, thus perpetuating the canard that people on the right are mindless zombies following orders from their masters in the media. The reporting of the shooting at the Holocaust museum is relevent to the discussion as well. You're not really getting any consistency in naming the shooter. Instead, the extreme right wing is being named the killer. The agenda for this particular story is to silence the people who are opposed to larger goverment and to forward the idea that anti-semitism is the sole property of Republicans. The right, once again, has been placed in a defensive position, having been accused of a crime it did not commit.

unperson
one last point

you say this

unconstitutional and immoral, justification for Roe v. Wade.

now herein lies a problem.

although i agree that abortion is immoral, until it rules differently, the supreme court has said it is constitutional.

if americans refuse to accept the rule of law, we have a problem.

you can legitimately say you disagree with the supreme court but for you to maintain that their ruling is unconstitutional and then you reject the constitution.

i, for example, think the death penalty is immoral and should be outlawed but i don't claim that it is unconstitutional.

when americans say a supreme court ruling should be ignored because they personally believe it is unconstitutional than we give justification for crazies like von brunn to attack the government.

unperson
thank you for your civilized response and you make a valid point that can be debated.

i believe that the hate filled posts that you find on the internet embolden people like von brunn.

as far as collectivists
this is a talking point simply made up by conservative pundits.

it is somewhat ironic that you say 'lets not politicize this" and then use a term like collectivists which does not describe the vast majority of the 2/3 of americans who support obama.

your bias is showing.

america has always been of two minds when it comes to governance.

there is the rugged individualist philosphy that conquered the vast american wilderness.

then there is the community philosophy that started with pilgrims and puritans and was evident in the settling of the american west.

despite the individualistic tendancy's americans built churches, schools, barns, and jails together as a community.

now some conservatives see only the individual as the essence of america and some liberals only see the community as the essence of america.

i say it is the tension between the two philosphies that make this the greatest country on the face of the earth.

Christianlib
Did you actually read the article, or are you assuming that Goldberg is repeating talking points? He clearly stated that the gunman was neither right or left wing. I, personally, think he was an extreme lunatic of varying political stripes, which is irrelevant to the discussion. What is relevant is when newspeople lay the blame for murder on a political party to advance an agenda, in this case the continued, unconstitutional and immoral, justification for Roe v. Wade. Collectivists seem incapable of comprehending actions apart from political movements. This is because they fail to recognize the god-given seperation of the individual from the state. My complaint has to with the politization of murder, a tactic that further divides the country, and began with the way the story was reported, rather than the story itself.

wratwrangler
you are misinformed

he defended bush and palin.

the jewish vote for obama was 78%.

For uber
What's wrong for being against something illegal. What does the term illegal mean in your dictionary?

Illegal immigration is synomous with trespassing. Officials that choose not to enforce the law of the land are just as guilty as the person committing the crime.

Are you going to allow a trespasser who enters you home illegally to remain without procecution?

Get your facts straight. There is a huge difference between legal and ILLEGAL immigration.

Christian Fibber:
von Brunn had a hit list. On it was the editorial staff of the Weekly Standard. That is hardly a leftist publication. He hated both Bushes but loved Carter and Clinton somewhat. He blamed EVERYTHING on Jews. There is SO much vitriol aimed at Jews now because so many Jews have grown brains and become conservative.

That's heresy to a lot of Jews to whom liberalism is a surrogate second religion. He would love Obama if he were white.

Soli Deo Gloria!!

this is insane
to say von brunn was a leftist is simply nuts.

he hated obama.
he hated marxists, liberal and jews according to his own website.
he was pro-gun
he was anti-immigrant
he wanted cultural purity
he was a holocaust denier
he was a anti-obama birther
he was anti-government
he hated the federal reserve
he hated the mainstream media.
he called himself a right winger
he listed his influences as john o'beaty and general del valle.
his book was published by noontide press a right wing publisher.
he defended bush and palin

now is that conservative or liberal othodoxy?

the talking point that limbaugh and beck try to use that he was a leftest may fool some conservatives but the american people know better.

if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck my friends it is a duck and that duck was an extreme right winger

Closer to Mathews, Olberman and the left
with his anti-Christian, anti-semitic, anti-Bill Crystal so we should be hearing an apology from the aforementioned trio.
O'reilly simply told the truth that this Tiller killed 60,000 babies many in late term for childish reasons like"I can't go to the prom" type "problems. Tiller is another example of abortion as birth control that 60's women deny but continue to support.

I can see it now...
more laws to "protect" us from those lower than the common denominator (as if that isn't bad enough) that will eat away at even more of our liberties. Both sides will throw darts as if "their" group is better or the "other" group is evil. In the meantime, all of these things only provide smoke for the Congress and Oblahblah to hide behind as they rape our country.

goldberg ignores facts
this was posted on the operation rescue website that roeder frequented.

a post from April 6 asking: 'Has Bill O'Reilly been invited to any of the Tiller events and if so what has been his reply? Has Fox News covered any of the events?'

The dot pouts
Oh, the wonders of adolescent conservatism! Let's remember Goldberg's opinion today because tomorrow he won't remember it. But today he is certain. Ideas don't matter. Words don't matter. There is no connection between propaganda and actions. Like, dude, Hamas can call Israel anything they wish because words have no effect on missiles. Argue with that and you're just trying to delegitimize other dudes!

Mr. Goldberg
Great column. I wish people in this country knew the history of the progressives. They are the bigots, and the haters.
Kirk

Yes, We don't need the "emotionalism"
of the Right. We only need the politically correct emotionalism of the morally bankrupt and American-hating liberal left.

What a pile of hogwash with which the liberals try to cover every issue. The 89 year old man was a loon and no one in their right mind would have supported killing the guard he killed. That was wrong. But tell me, you 2-faced "lie"berals how many od YOU liberals have stood up and decried the heinous murder of Army Pvt. William Long and the wounding of his Army friend by a MUSLIM TERRORIST? Hmm??? No emotionalism to spare? Used it all up on Tiller??!!??Fie on you.

"Conservatives need engage in no 'agonizing reappraisals' of their fundamental views. They need to adjust to being in opposition, but that is the purest kind of opportunity, not a burden."

"Conflict with our interest and values is not some unfortunate exception to normality, it is normality." John Bolton

Phony arguments
Nobody has "blamed" O'Reilly for Tiller's murder. That's an overstatement as a way to avoid the truth. What O'Reilly and Goldberg and Limbaugh do is blur the line between conservatism and extremism. They don't tell people to go out and murder doctors or Jews, but they do create an environment of hostility and anger.

Trying to label von Brunn a "leftist" is the worst sort of lie.

Lies, Lies, and More Lies
If you want to know the truth, believe the exact opposite of everything the radical left Progressives say or write.

Truth is the death of the radical left Progressives. Progressives have lied so much they lie even when the truth would be harmless.

The best tactic is to blame everything bad on their mythically created right wing neocons...every knight on a white horse must have a dragon to slay.

In reality; Progressives are champions of death and destruction, especially the destruction of their mythically created evil empire America.

Anyone that dares to say or write anything that challenges their mythically created world is a dragon that must be slayed by their cabal of knights: MSM, left wing bloggers, Hollywood stars--more mythical creations, PBS, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, ACORN, unions, and don't forget the biggest lier of them all, President Obuma and his private cabal in the White House.

Let's see...
James von Brunn was an avowed socialist who denounced Christianity and believed 9/11 was an inside job.

And he's somehow a right-winger?

Hope I'm wrong, but I think it is too late. Although I think republicans will win big in 2010, I don't see them as strong enough to do what is needed. The last time they were in control of congress and the wh, they acted just like democrats. If they cant even find the courage to call the democrats "socialists" when they are out of power, how can we expect them to undo Obama's programs when they are in power? The best we can expect is trimming around the edges while spouting conservative philosophy-ie typical republican behavior.

So what
It matters not a whit who coined what phrase. Tiller was a baby killer. No one seemed to care in the 60's and 70's leftist called our Vietnam Vets babykillers (JANE FONDA!). Why was that okay? A woman goes to see Tiller he goes into the uterus turns a person (viable baby) around (i am not a woman, but babys normally come out head first)pulls the feet out to the shoulders and then impel it with a whatever they use to kill the otherwise healthy person. For a migrane, or depression? What is wrong with this picture.

Right wing anti immigration rhetoric
stop making excuses for right wing anti immigration rhetoric fueling antisemitic white supremacists and American Nazi and KKK groups.

Cause of our anger
We degenerated from a constitutional republic (Article 4, Section 4) into a "wonderful" democracy. Now, any mob can buy, steal, and fabricate a majority and trample on the rights of the minority. Everyone (both on the left and the right) got angry everytime the winners said, "We won, so do everything we say."

God save our republic.

Tiller was scum, but O'Reilly was wrong
Unless there's proof the murderer was motivated by what O'Reilly said, it's unfair to blame O'Reilly.

But, I will admit O'Reilly went overboard on Tiller. He covered Tiller's activities many times on his show and I distinctly recall him referring to Tiller as "Tiller the baby killer", and "a nazi". He also showed where Tiller worked, and worked hard to get people to contact the governor to get Tiller shut down.

All this is legal, but is an example of the type of rhetoric and emotionalism we don't need. Yeah, Tiller was a vile man (what he did was legal, but highly immoral...thousands of late term abortions for the flimsiest of "medical" reasons)...and he made millions doing it.

O'Reilly is pro-choice actually
Just not in the 3rd trimester.
If the black racist rev Wright has the same view as the white supremicist about they Jews, what does that tell us?

Pvt Long
Pvt William Long's father was on Bill O'Reilly last night to talk about a boy who was willing to put himself between us and evil. I must tell you I am tired of crying over these brave men and women dying in there service to us and being ignored by everybody especially those who claim to care more than Fox News does.

Pvt Long chose to pick a lane, what about you. The main stream media who cares more about a man who for any reason at all to go into the uterus turn the baby around so his/her feet come out first to the shoulders and then impel its brain to kill him/her. To change the focus, blame Bill O'Reilly.

The main stream media has called our soldiers terrorist, murderers, calls Iraq a war of choice degrading Pvt. Longs service. The answer to the lefts rant is if Bill O'Reilly is responsible for Tiller than yes Oberman and Maddow are responsible for Pvt. Long. Fair is fair don't you think.

What does a real Christian look like?
In some ways, we are to blame. For so long we have been known by what we are against -- as opposed to shining flashlights of truth into our society.

Its a tough juggling act. We need to speak out, but we always need to give the words of Christ as a beacon for the world.

Look at the Red Letter Believers blog -- where we dont just talk about our faith, we live it out.

Home grown violence....
.... a chilling reality. As the economic situation worsens, it follows that there are more desparate people. In the wake of WWI, and the great Depression, Nazism, Fascism, and Communism took root in Europe and Russia. It found fertile ground in the pain and frustration of the people. Small groups of extremists, with charismatic spokesmen, were able to focus the anger and desparation of the people on "scapegoats"... Jews, Corporations, Leaders of industry, the Czar... feed a delusion of hyper nationalism and world conquest... a utopia, the Third Reich... everything would be AOK, once all dissent was eliminated or marginalized. It didn't turn out well.

I worry about the growing anger and unrest in this country... not among the nutjobs and lunatics, but ordinary people. We've not yet experienced the hardship looming on the horizon.... hyperinflation, collapse of the dollar.... when people have what remains erased by inflation, and govt cannot deliver on promises and entitlements, there may well be civil unrest and an eruption of violence.

I'm praying it does not come to that. Ordinary people need to stand up! Peacefully, but strongly, speak out, support responsible candidates, VOTE. It's not too late... but time's running out.

Well put, Jonah...
but unfortunately you're preaching to the choir.

Letting facts get in your way!
Many liberals do not let the facts get in their way when they think, talk, and write; and oh yes, scream! Nothing new about this!

O'Reilly didn't coin the phrase
Mr. Goldberg,

I tend to agree with you on all but one fact in your article. I don't believe Bill O'Reilly coined the phrase, "Tiller the Baby Killer". If I recall correctly, he merely reported that someone had used that term.

It is amazing, though, how liberals wring their hands and weep copious tears at the fact that three out of the hundreds of terrorists captured on the battlefields were waterboarded; but ignore the fact that Dr. Tiller caused the deaths of some 60,000 babies over the years that he ran his "clinic". I'm not justifying or defending the slimeball who murdered Dr. Tiller, as that crime was as heinous as any other. Tiller's murderer should face the death penalty for what he did.

For right is not far-right.Left=wrong
The above commentor said it well. These demonbizing left-wllling terrorist are going to destroy either this country or the goose that has laid the golden eggs they have been feeding on. Obama talks about moving on from failed policies of the past. Excuse me, "great pretender", you are moving into the failed policies of the past of socialism that have left most of the world in shambles. In one of your "I am god and know all" speeches recently, you refer to yourself as a "great student of history."? Say wha! Most of what followed reveiled that you are an ignoramus of basic history or think the rest of us are. As well, either you have no idea that the4 Sein is a river in France, or you think you can walk on water. "I would love to have time to stroll down the Sein." Hey lap-dog media. If a Republican said such a stupid thing you would have kept it on the front page.

I prefer looking at the big picture...
...Tiller The Killer, with all his consumption of the Earth's resources, had no right to life anymore than any other human being.A very late term abortion,as in Tiller's case,is simply some shooter excersising his "right to choose" who will live and who will die.

Not guilty,your honor!

Enviorment of hate.

In the words of Obama's former Paster, Jerimiah Wright, "The Chickens have come home to roost.

Liberals have created an enviorment of hate by demonizing anyone they disagree with. Its called the politics of hate. Class warfare, economic warfare, race bating, and blaming christians.

Barack Obama, John Murtha, Dick Durban all demonize out military for "killing innocent civilians."

Any wonder why some demented Muslin felt the need to kill a military recruiter?

Gay Rights groups, who support same sex marriages, demonize anyone who disagrees with them. Publishes names of people who oppose their point of view. No wonder several members of this group attacked a little old lady holding a sign opposing their point of view.

Liberal newspapers who want to get a boost in circulation routinely demonize local police and create racial discord. The results are young black men who lack life experience to put things in perspective go out and shoot a police officer. The Editor of the newspaper doesn't care. He's not going to spend life in prison.

Liberals have been demonizing Israel. Any wonder why some might want to blame all of the United States middle east problems on Jews?

Liberals demonize anyone who supports the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. Any wonder why some might say enough is enough, I will fight before I surrender anymore freedom.

Liberals demonize anyone who wants to pay less taxes. They use the Internal Revenue Service to intimidate, investigate, and confiscate property of anyone who believes they are over taxed and not getting value for government services.

We should all expect more home grown violence in and enviorment where Liberals promote hate.
