Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Vice president. Who among us can contain their excitement?

Not me. I can't wait to hear more from the man for whom brevity is a Rubicon he will not cross. Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you something about Joe Biden, as Joe Biden himself might say: Joe is the guy who will tell the hard truths, say the unsaid things - literally, not just figuratively - to ensure that he has gone the extra oratory mile in service to this great cause, America, for which he will give not merely his last breaths but an unknowable number of breaths in service of the country he loves, never once tiring or being distracted by the grammatical ballast of the period, the wedge issue of the paragraph break or the thud of his audiences' heads soporifically smacking the tables in front of them. No, never let it be said that Joe won't say what needs to be said, not only when it needs to be said but the other times as well, again and again and, ladies and gentlemen, again.

One can only hope the perpetual motion machine that is Biden's mouth will, like a million monkeys banging on typewriters, eventually stumble on a plausible explanation for why Obama picked Biden, of all people.

It's a leaden cliche to note that the choice of a running mate is the first "presidential" decision a candidate makes. What, then, does it say that Obama's first such decision contradicts the alleged promise of his presidency?

In his career-making speech at the 2004 Democratic convention, Obama ridiculed "the pundits" who "like to slice and dice our country into red states and blue states; red states for Republicans, blue states for Democrats." But when it came time to act "presidential," Obama passed on several short-list VP candidates from red states - the governors of Virginia, Kansas and Iowa - in favor of the senator from deep-blue Delaware.

Over the last two years, Obama's campaign has gone further, investing a great deal in this idea of Obama as a postpartisan candidate who transcends all of these silly categories. Quoting the candidate, the official Republicans for Obama Web site proclaims: "For the first time in a long time, we have the chance to build a new majority of not just Democrats, but Independents and Republicans who've lost faith in their Washington leaders but want to believe again - who desperately want something new."

And to feed that bottomless yearning for the new, Obama picked a Democrat who was first elected to the U.S. Senate when Obama was 11 years old and Richard Nixon was still popular. When Biden - already a seasoned pol - first ran for president, Duran Duran was still thought of as the cutting edge of music. What happened? Was Robert Byrd too trendy?

And what about all that jibber-jabber about postpartisanship? When Obama, the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate, according to the 2007 vote scoring done by National Journal, picks the third-most-liberal senator, does that count as reaching across the aisle?

Even more flummoxing is Biden's actual record. Put aside the fact that Biden's biggest backers are trial lawyers and credit card company lobbyists (so much for attacking business-as-usual), and there's the signature issue of Obama's campaign: the Illinois senator's superior judgment on the war in Iraq. In his months-long battle against Sen. Hillary Clinton, Obama insisted that his early opposition to the war represented singular proof of his qualifications to be president. But Biden, with his "unparalleled foreign policy experience" in the words of an Obama senior advisor, supported the 2003 invasion of Iraq on the same grounds that Clinton did.

So Obama asks voters to value judgment over experience or expertise; but when Obama himself chose someone best qualified to be president in his stead - "above all, I searched for a leader who is ready to step in and be president" he proclaimed Saturday in Springfield, Ill. - he went the opposite way.

Perhaps that explains why Obama accidentally introduced his VP as "the next president of the United States."

Of course, we know why Obama really made this choice. He thinks Biden will help with Pennsylvanians, Catholics, men and the working class. And Biden is ready to serve as the kind of partisan attack dog that Obama, until recently, decried as an unhealthy feature of our politics.

That's fine. Except it suggests that so much of Obama's new politics has been just words after all. And with Biden onboard, we know words are one thing the Democratic ticket will never run out of.

The average fifth grader . . .
. . . could likely point out most of the contradictions and hypocrisy that permeate the Obama campaing. If the American voter somehow elects this charlatan president, we will be getting exactly what we deserve.

Nothing like obfuscation
The article is about the professional windbag that is the senior Senator from Delaware and a lib decries President Bush.

I can't wait to hear a pin drop when the MSM is silent in the face of Biden's free-flowing partisan hit jobs--the sort of chicanery to which the Great One is supposedly allergic.

What are the odds that Obama will sack Biden like he did General Wesley Clark?

McCain in a romp.

Sorry to disappoint you, Robert . . .
. . . but I don't share your viewpoint regarding GWB. I voted for him, worked on his campaign, and consider his presidency in many respects to have been a great success. He has been far from perfect, but in my view, he exhibits true leadership. I am proud to be one of his biggest fans.

Take care.

Obama's inability to speak off the cuff
McCain HAS to get Obama into a town hall situation. The jerk is totally lost without the teleprompter and knows very little about the constitution and bill of rights. McCain could tear him apart. His own waffleing should destroy him if met with taped excerpts of his own speaches

Biden choice makes sense...
I think the Biden choice makes sense. After all, one of the big criticisms of Obama is that he is arrogant and condescending.

Well, put him next to Joe Biden and he doesn't look so bad.

He's been called too liberal, too partisan. Put him next to Joe... there you go.

The choice makes perfect sense.

Sort of.

quayle was "presidential???
Bush had his "Quayle"

Obama's just "biden" his time...

does anyone know how to spell POTAYTOE in either party??

but everyone knows how to spell "BIG MONEY"

DID ANYONE EXPECT A SMART
DECISION FROM OBAMA MAMA?ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
ELVIS

Just parts in a big political machine
Sens. Obama and Biden are just parts in the big Dem. political machine owned and operated by labor & teacher unions, trial lawyers, abortion advocates, and liberal fringe wack-a-doodles. Theoretically, Sen. Obama lends Sen. Biden fresh cred while Sen. Biden lends Sen. Obama experience cred. In reality, both are merely cogs are in a big political machine that will steamroll ordinary Americans to pave the way for untold profits and power accruing to the Dem's long-standing special interests.

There's nothing new here to see; we've seen it all before.

Our Beloved Republic deserves better.
I agree with RCB here.

Jonah is correct Obama chose Biden to help him win over Catholics, (white)men, and the working class, but I just don't see Biden able to accomplish that.

Obama probably should have chosen Hillary, if she would have accepted the offer.

I am not a fan of Hillary. I am only speculating from a purely politically perspective.

There are lots of female Hillary supporters who think she got stiffed by the party.

And that might have assuaged their feelings.

At any rate, as one who is breathtakingly uninspired, and in fact apprehensive over the health of our Beloved Repubic in being reduced to the sorry spectacle of choosing between a leftist democrat, or a McCain who will continue the disastrous neocon foreign policy of Bush, I just may opt for "none of the above".

Red for a RED
At least this election cycle we should switch the state coloring system. Red fits obamas Marxist belief system much better then blue.

Biden is the LBJ...
...to Obama's JFK. What a joke.

Biden help with men?
"He thinks Biden will help with Pennsylvanians, Catholics, men and the working class."

Biden has a long history of pandering to feminists and sponsoring laws that disadvantage men. Biden is a dangerous sexist pig.

The minute I heard Biden was the VP pick, I donated money to McCain.

The minute I heard Biden was the VP pick, I became enthusiastic about McCain.

Daley picked Biden
I think this election is Chicago calling in its chits for help;ing deliver the 1960 election to Kennedy. The Biden connection to Chicago through Rezko is established. For Dems, it is all about patronage.

Marcmat is dead on!
Thank you Marcmat. Bush has done a good job, with little thanks. History will judge. And he will come out a winner.

as for Barry...,just another political hack steeped in "Chicago politics".

An obama financial advisor let the
cat out of the bag yesterday and gave us a good look into the mindset of this guy.

When asked on Fox news why Obama wants to enact a new "death tax" at 45% the guy said " so people don't amass fortunes to leave to their kids".

Silly me, I always thought that was part of the American dream.

So you work hard all your life, pay ridiculously high taxes to support the recipient class and now we are back to taking almost half at your death. That's why he uses phrases like "the collective good".

He'd "change" things alright, just like Karl Marx and company changed Russia.

Lenin started out as a community organizer too.

Obama and Biden
blah blah blah blah

since the liberals are impressed with Obama's ability to blab without actually saying anything, it's understandable that they would be impressed with the loquacious, eloquent, oratorical rhetoric of the illustrious Senator Biden, who has honorably served in the Senate of the United States of America for many productive years, representing the working families and the downtrodden of our less than great country of the United States of America. Did he mention that he is a faithful Catholic, who participates in the sacraments of the Eucharist and Confession, proclaiming his faithfulness to the Holy Church of Rome, his commitment to the women of society and their right to choose the destiny of their lives and the lives of their children, both born and unborn - that the unborn shall not hinder their ability to live their lives as they see fit. Women sometimes have to make a difficult choice, and the grand wall that separates the Church and State shall not be torn down in order to deprive the ladies of this great nation of their ability to choose their won destiny.

blah blah blah blah

Obama and Biden - two peas in the oratorical pod.

Obama - Harvard educated?????
If the Obama is the product of Harvard, I have to wonder. Could it be that Harvard standards are slipping? (Lets review). The obama says he's been to 57 States on his election tour. Lectures Americans about only speaking English when visiting Europe and then goes to Europe and Speaks English everywhere he goes. Preaches about how we can solve our Energy problems by checking our Tire pressure and getting our Cars tuned up, Brilliant Mr. Messiah, just Brilliant. Wants the United Nations Security Council to pass a resolution condemning Russia, yet he's ignorant to the fact that Russia is a Member of the Security council that has Veto power! Obama might have a Harvard education, but he is clearly not a very smart man, and we have not even reviewed his Rouges gallery of Leftist/Terrorist friends: Reverend wright, William Ayers, Tony Rezko and others. - "All we'z can say is Merci Beaucoup", thats right Mr. Messiah...

Biden over Hillary
Maybe Obama picked Biden over Hillary because after years of campaigning and meeting people and trying to answer questions presidentially, he finally realized that he is not qualified to be president and is trying to abort in the final trimester.

Robert...
Beautiful, just beautiful. She wakes up the morning after the big day, she stretches and then her huge smile brightens up the whole room. She will wait and then she will pounce. All she needs is time and he and his VP will sink like one huge brainless rock!! She rejoices!

Biden Hasn't Boosted Obama
In fact, even now at his DNC Pep Rally, Obama's points are dropping.

All Hillary's speech yesterday did was show the nation that Hillary is by far more strong and capable than Biden, and that Obama picked incorrectly once more. His ego and stardom got in the way of what could've shot his numbers through the roof. Who turns their back on 18 million voters backing Hillary? An idiot.

I agree with a poster here who says Obama needs to join McCain in Town Hall meetings. Obama refuses because even his handlers know that is dangerous sound bite territory to engage in. It's truly his double edged sword.

First, we know he would fail miserably.

Second, by going to arenas, you are only speaking to the people who intend to vote for you regardless of all your anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, domestic and international terroristic ties...and add in a new one Al-Masure...see Amanda Carpenter's article.

There are those people who are middle of the road and undecided that go to these Town Hall meetings, and those are the people Obama needs to reach, not his rock concert love fests.

But practical cowardice prevents Obama from attending. He's damned either way. Good.

Is dangerous to the family
Listening to NPR on the way to work this morning. They had a clip of Biden talking to a group of women. Biden said something like this: “when I go home, I know what my role is”. He was implying that his wife was the head of the family, and the female audience giggled approvingly.

Biden is one of those people who incorrectly think that it is productive to put men down and dismiss the possibility that a man could be the head of the family.

Feminist and female pandering does not lead to healthy families and a healthy society. It leads to more mental and emotional dissonance, divorces, and increasingly onerous laws to fix the damage caused by the original pandering.

Joe Biden is part of what is wrong with modern American culture. Joe Biden is dangerous, and sponsors destructive and misguided laws.

The Real Truth
is Obama picked Biden because he knows bewteen the two of them - from now until November 3rd their yapping will generate enough hot air to heat every home in America during the upcoming winter even as McCain takes office.

Obama a Narcissist

Obama picked Biden, because Obama knows Biden COULD NEVER outshine him.

Obama is such a narcissist, that Obama will NOT allow anyone or anything overshadow him - even if it hurts the Obama chance of winning.

Obama is displaying the usual behavior of a narcissist.

Obama bin-Biden offer no
military experience between the two of them.

Biden was driven out of his '88 pres. race for admitting plagiarism (lying and stealing) other people's speeches. He was also accused of plagiarism in college. And he can't keep his mouth shut.

The big O thinks there are 59 states (he said he had visited 57 but couldn't go to the other 2--Hawaii and Alaska), has blithely called female reporters *honey*--so his feminism is maybe skin deep if that much, and he can't speak without a script.

Whadda ticket.

Send money to McCain and the RNC or you could see these two clowns running your life staring in Jan.

Three VPs for Obama!!
Three VPs for Obama!!

The selection of Joe Biden fills in Obama's foreign policy gap which is based on his complete lack of experience in international affairs. However Obama also has a complete lack of experience in domestic policy, therefore Obama should have Hillary Clinton nominated as his second VP choice to fill Obama's domestic experience gap. The third area where Obama needs someone to fill a lack of experience gap is political strategy, and for this important slot I suggest Bill Clinton as his third VP choice.

Imagine the power of an Obama, Biden, Clinton and Clinton Democratic ticket. The head of the ticket, Obama the man with no experience propped up by three VPs. Now that's a real three legged stool!!

Obama the “prophet”

Obama is the “prophet” who will bring his flock into the “promised land”.

Obama sees himself, as one who can break the “oppression of the present order” by creating a utopian government that will solve all of our problems.

Obama gives liberals something to believe in, “Hope and Change” relieving the identity crisis of youth and a soothing balm to those who can’t accept the realities of life.

Life is difficult, reality is difficult – playing peek-a-boo with problems will NOT solve them.

Obama and Liberals would rather feel good and try and make reality conform to their minds than “grow up” and try to face life head-on.

Obama and Liberals expect us to recognize their “superiority” and give them the special treatment they so richly deserve – not because of accomplishments – but because of intentions

BIDEN'S REZKO LINK
The Chicago Sun-Times has an article on Biden's Rezko (BO's former buddy and neighbor) connection. Link is:

http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/rezko/1124666,CST-NWS-re zko25.article

Just a sample: "Offering Cari a vote of confidence at the time, Biden said, "All I know is Joe Cari is a friend, and he's an honorable guy, but I don't know anything beyond that."

"Joseph Cari Jr. ... was Joe Biden's Midwest field director."

"In 2005, Cari admitted to taking part in an $850,000 kickback scheme that prosecutors say was part of a larger political fund-raising operation for Gov. Blagojevich overseen by Rezko, who was convicted in June of wide-ranging corruption involving state deals."

The question must be asked: "Is the pick of Biden related to the effort to hush up BO's relationship with Rezko?"

Biden polls 1% everytime - except now

Biden polls 1% everytime he has run for president, except this time - he dropped Obama polling by 2%.

Obama and the Clintons

Obama is so 'Narcisstic' that he was willing to let the Clintons have two nights of the DNC in exchange for hearing them say 'Barack Obama' is the answer.

wow WOW wow

Can't Wait
Now the deals between the devil and Biden will start to flow. Certainly there are many favors between the racketeers in Delaware and Biden that will be exposed. Hurry please!

Jonah
You write: "Who among us can contain their excitement?"

I can. I really can. Just the thought of having to look at those gawd-awful hair plugs on Biddens' nugget for the next three months makes me want to take up drinking.

Great column Johnah Goldberg
And these issues listed here are Biden's good points. Johnah never even gets to Neal Kinnock. Does anybody look at Joe Biden and see President Biden? I know I'm a Republican but when I look at Biden I see a guy who wants to sell me a pair of Tom McCanns.

lc and marcmat Presidents are judged historically on two points. 1) Did they meet the chanllenge of their times. 2) Did they advance the cause of Liberty. George W. Bush gets an A+ on both counts. Besides if you read the Battleground poll President Bush's personal approval ratings are in the high 50's and low 60's something the MSM never mentions.

With Joe BidenOblahma's hope and change

Dope and Gabby 2008!

The empty "Hope and Change" ticket

DOPE and FUMBLE 2008!

go barry and joe......craptaclar!!!

possible bright side
At least two senate seats may be up for election now...

Well
the Biden selection sewed up the Quicky Mart Indian vote

Hansfury: Look back at the Reagan ...
election. Republicans _were_ represented as blue, and Democrats in red.

Why the change? Hmm?

I think that you are right. It's just that it happened a while ago.

OMG
Oh My Gosh! As if I needed another reason not to turn the TV on - Biden talking on & on & on!!!!!

Biden as Bentsen
Lloyd Bentsen added "gravitas" to the Dukakis ticket in 1988, just as Biden is expected to now for Obama. That "gravitas" has magically turned into gravity as the ticket experiences no bounce from its own convention.

But Rapier, neither Obama nor Biden are quitting their Senate seats to run (in fairness, neither is McCain), and Biden is taking the Bentsen parallel one step farther: he is running for re-election this year in Delaware. Bentsen, you may recall, was never VP, but he was re-elected in Texas, serving four years of his fourth term before becoming Clinton's Treasury Secretary.

Maybe by 2010, the Illinois Republicans can come up with a big enough hook to remove The One from the national stage. He shouldn't have it as easy as he did when climbed up.

BIDEN IS AN ANTI-CAPITALIST UNION TOADIE

.....BIDEN thinks that Wal-Mart needs to bent to his Socialist plans ...google Joe Biden & Wal-mat to get the picture on this scum bag .....COLOSSUS

The finger
If you are going to give Catholics the finger, Hillary would be the better pick.

Joe I'm a Catholic and in the immortal words of Lloyd Benson, you are no Catholic. Either are your commrads, Durbin, Pelosi, McCaskil and all the other phonies.

Kennedy doesn't even bother to call himself one anymore, his slate is too black.

CHARLES MARTEL
"Maybe by 2010, the Illinois Republicans can come up with a big enough hook to remove The One from the national stage. He shouldn't have it as easy as he did when climbed up."

Unfortunately, here in the Peoples Republic of Illinois, the conviction of RINO Gov Ryan still retards Republican party progress.

Hopefully, the Rezko affair will taint Gov Rod R. Blagojevich (and BO) enough to see some pre-Blago voting patterns here (Republican). But that Chicago graveyard vote is always tough to overcome.

BO overcame his opponents not by his appeal to voters, but by their divorce proceedings being released to the public in His campaigns for Illinois and then U.S. Senator. You know, in that "new style" of politics he bleats about.

BTW - Love your adoption of my illustrious ancestor's namesake - The victor over Jihadist armies at Tours!

Biden pick dumb
Sorry, Obama, but you blew this one. Obviously just nervous as hell about making an error, you tried for a safety and didn't reach the cue ball.

IM WITH STUPED TEE SHIRT FIGHT
HERE WE GO--- NOW BARACK OBAMA & JOE BIDEN WILL BE FIGHTING ALL THE TIME. ABOUT WHO IS GOING TO WEAR THE (IM WITH STUPED TEE SHIRT) CANT WE JUST LEARN TO GET ALONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Democrats will be crying in the streets

Only once in a while do I ponder a Jonah Goldberg article. This is one of them.

Goldberg accurately describes Joe Biden, silliest bastrrd in the Senate.

He comes down on Barack Obama like a duck on a June bug as well. This selection of a running mate is strictly the work of a greenhorn. Even those who detest Hillary would have easily agreed she comes prepared to be a vice-president of importance. Barack was apparently afraid of her. That gives McCain ten times more winning potential in November, IMHO.

Obama's not much on experience and even shorter on brains.

Charles (the Hammer) Martel
Charles Martel wrote:

Yes, Obama had a non-opponent (i.e. Alan Keyes) in his U.S. Senate race and, since 2004, has been riding a media-generated wave of sychophantic endorsements and rhetoric. Add to that the victimization & race-based politics of the Democrat Left along with Liberal White Guilt Syndrome: That yields about 45-47% of the electorate---but hopefully no more & Nobama'08.

Biden's a great pick
His selection is further proof of Obama's sound judgment. Getting experienced folks to help with moving new ideas through the oft times cumbersome halls of Congress makes sense.

While Biden may, on occasion, tend toward garrulousness, at least he's able to communicate thoughts. If you strip out the "My friends" from McCain's "speeches" you'd have nothing but dead air.

By the way, Robert, spelling "stupid" as "stuped" is pretty stupid.

Joe Biden: The VP Pick From H*ll
Obama could have picked any of several possible choices that would have helped his campaign.

So who does he pick? Some one who is already on record for McCain. Look at the following Biden quote:

Biden appearing on The Daily Show, August 2, 2005: “John McCain is a personal friend, a great friend, and I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think the country would be better off, be well off no matter who...”

So who does he pick? Some one who has already said that Obama is not ready for the office of POTUS. Look at the following Biden quote:

Biden on December 26, 2006: “Frankly, I think I’m more qualified than other candidates, and the issues facing the American public are all in my wheelbarrow.”

How or what Obama does to get around Biden's "Foot in Mouth" illness will be interesting.

(For more Biden quotes, go to my blog site.)

Well Said
Two Lawyers sitting across from each other in a room: Joe Biden and Sam Alito.

The art critics might describe this particular image like this: the one "figure sets apart the other in bold relief."

I'm searching here, but you see my point: What a contrast! What a difference between superior and inferior--and it need not have appeared that way. It did because of the hubris of the one and the normalcy of the other.
*********************************

I will say this for Biden: After 9/11, when our President was crying in the Oval Office, Joe Biden was as tough as steel on national TV trying to...I don't know what. But his knees were steady.

As for an "edge" on foreign policy. What this tired old Arnold Palmer Pennzoil needs is an oil change! Neither candidate appears to have the clues pointed up so incisively by Michael Scheuer's "Marching Toward Hell," must reading for serious thinkers about America's future after Iraq and the anger of 1.4 billion Muslims.

He was never going to pick Hillary
because she will NOT be IGNORED!!!! You can't have a VP who will not take a back seat. Not only that, but what president really wants a still somewhat popular ex-pres hangin' out and taking all the chicks?

The Clintons (yes, they're a package deal) were never really an option, so it isn't "stupid" for Obama not to have chosen her.

But that doesn't make the Biden choice smart. If you are a Catholic who is against Obama not because of his party, but because of his positions on abortion and other life issues then you're not going to be appeased by an addition of a second name on the ticket with a 100 percent approval rating from NARAL who calls himself "catholic". And if he was supposed to help with men, what does that say about Obama? And if he was supposed to add experience to the ticket, what does THAT say about Obama?

Not that The One had a stellar cast to choose from, but Republicans should accept this as the gift it is... not that they should be complacent, but a small sigh of relief is in order before the final push.

For JamesB @ 10:00
How many of that "vote bank" are actually US citizens?

When Better Choices
Removed their names from consideration BEFORE The Obamassiah even got around to OFFERING the VP slot Barry knew he was in trouble.
At least with Biden he got a running mate who thinks he is at least "clean & articulate".

Biden NEVER mustered more than 5% of the vote in any of his forays into presidential politics yet Barry couldn't stand the idea of being beholden to Hillary Clinton and her 18 Million supporters.
Says a lot about a guy who would pass up the help of a WOMAN who would bring WOMEN VOTERS onboard in numbers that would have pretty much guaranteed victory, not to mention New York's electoral votes in favor of a VP from "the Old White Guy" network who brings THREE ELECTORAL VOTES to the table.

The Obamassiah's shoddy handling of the VP selection and the DISRESPECT for women in general will cost him come November.
When Barry figures out the truth that he is NOT (in his wifes words) "...one of the smartest men we will see in our lifetime" it will be too late!
In fact, it already is.

Re: Hansfury
That was changed after Reagen was elected POTUS because the Democrats didn't want to be seen as Reds even though that's their political stance. And since the media is 98% Liberal they decided to give the Dems every chance at beating the idea that they were Marxists by changing the color that represented them.

Re Seawolf
While I agree with your sentiments I must point out that Lenin started out as a reporter for the Washington Times. He and Trotsky were given 6 million in gold by a number of American Industrialist (Vanderbuilt, Rockefeller and Morgan to name a few) to over throw the Russian government as Russia was starting to become an economic power. It was felt at the time that making Russia a communist country would eliminate Russia from the economic battle field for at least 50 years. They were off on their estimate it was 70 years but it was effective.

dear I am sans pareil

What if Obama had listened to his extravagantly gifted brain and thought,

"Hillary it is."--?

She would've been one heartbeat away from what she's lusted after for decades: POTUS, ME! WHEEEE!

Meaning that if they win, the Messiah lives on borrowed time!

My wife frowned at me when I suggested she could kill for the presidency. I said:

She'll have him dead as fast as you can say "hit-man," and afterward lay a groovy wreath on his coffin. The first American woman president!

I believe this, or I wouldn't post it here.

Bama ,Biden & Co.
These are two of the most arrogant people in Washington,DC. Biden is stuck on himself and Bama believes his press.

Hey Patriotic
"Peoples Republic of Illinois"

I loved your post, but as a former Illinois resident now living in Iowa, I refer to my old home state as "The Great State of Chicago".

And you are quite correct, voters there still have not gotten over Gov. Ryan.

The National Journal
And the same National Journal stated that Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders was 4th this year. (Those of you who are familiar with his views should find this very amusing.) The same Journal last year had Biden and Obama tied for 10th. Interestingly somehow these two Senators moved up above Sen. Sanders. It should also be noted that Senator Kerry was elevated to the status of the "most Liberal Senator" after he became the Presidential nominee for the Democrats.

It is all a shell game. I do wish to compliment Mr. Goldberg for his attempt at "Biden speak". James Joyce would be pleased with stream of consciousness Mr. Goldberg's lengthy sentence that poked fun at Senator Biden, who, for those who watch Sunday morning news shows, was also one of the most popular guests, especially when he is on the program with Senator's Luger and Hagel, known for their independence, much like what Senator McCain used to be like before he became a mud slinging convert to the Carl Rove, "do anything to win" approach to winning the US Presidency....

A suggestion for the Dems
I think I have the perfect wrap up for the "triumph of the Barry" extravaganza at Invesco, After the One finishes his oration, which undoubtedly will have Chris Mathews flopping on the floor in orgasmic ecstacy, Obama bin Biden will together descend from the faux Temple of Apollo stage and climb aboard the basket of a hot air balloon. What will make this unbelievably compelling visually is that we will be able to dispense with the balloon. Together, their collective lack of substance will be more than sufficient to waft them majestically heavenward, while the enthralled masses below chant Obama...Obama and offer the goatsee salute, We can probably get the Chinese to help with CGIing in the accompanying fireworks. It's very difficult to achieve the proper pastel shades with the real thing.

Biden and Rezko?
Biden's compound in Wilmington Delaware is awesome! Delaware is the smallest state. Believe me....,his compound is fantastic! are you saying that Rezko helped Joe too?

Obama's not entirely to blame
Every day I marvel that a person with virtually NO RESUME at all, like Obama, can actually get elected to be President.

He served 2 terms in his state senate. He served about 92 days in the U.S. Senate. He was a Harvard Law graduate and a community organizer on the south side of Chicago with bad bad Leroy Brown. And that's about it. No accomplishments, no experience, no real credentials. Just a ton of 1960s rhetoric dressed up to reflect the 21st century nanny state he so desires.

What this man DOES do better than anyone is motivational speaking (and reading a teleprompter). So I don't blame Obama for being in the position he's in.

I blame stupid, pied-piper Americans -- delegates, super-delegates, citizens, media -- idiots all who listen to his drivel loaded with inflection and "yes, we can" pap, and actually believe he is espousing content.

He is totally void of content. He is void of substance. He's all talk and all promises, and the hungry hordes of sheeple in this country lap up his drivel like kittens lapping up milk from a plate on the floor. They can't get enough of his empty verbiage and vacuous promises. They can't tell the different between vaporware and content. If he told them to jump off a 5-story building, half of them would do.

So who's to blame? Obama for taking advantage of a good situation, or stupid Americans who are giving this fraudulent thief the keys to the kingdom?

Obama 'I Have a Scheme' Speech
On the 45th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther Kings, "I have a Dream Speecch" on August 28, 1963, given at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC - considered one of the top 100 speeches of all time.

Dr King said "...I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together..."
------------------------------------------------

Barack Hussein Obama will give his "I have a Scheme" speech at Invesco Field Field, Denver, CO.

Obama will say "I have a dream that one day Barack Hussein Obama shall be exalted, every opposer shall be made low, I will make the oceans lower, and the Earth will be begin to heal, all pain and human suffering will begin to cease and the glory of Barack Hussein Obama shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together."

Arby - Please check your facts
Arby states that Obama served two term in the Illinois State Senate. This is misleading. He was in fact elected three times to the Illinois State Senate and served a total of 8 years. From Wikipedia: "Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996, succeeding State Senator Alice Palmer as Senator from the 13th District, which then spanned Chicago South Side neighborhoods from Hyde Park-Kenwood south to South Shore and west to Chicago Lawn.[28] Once elected, Obama gained bipartisan support for legislation reforming ethics and health care laws.[29] He sponsored a law increasing tax credits for low-income workers, negotiated welfare reform, and promoted increased subsidies for childcare.[30] In 2001, as co-chairman of the bipartisan Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, Obama supported Republican Governor Ryan's payday loan regulations and predatory mortgage lending regulations aimed at averting home foreclosures,[31] and in 2003, Obama sponsored and led unanimous, bipartisan passage of legislation to monitor racial profiling by requiring police to record the race of drivers they detained and legislation making Illinois the first state to mandate videotaping of homicide interrogations.[30][32]

Obama was reelected to the Illinois Senate in 1998, and again in 2002.[33]"

I do not agree with you that Obama is "void of content" as anyone who has taken to time to read in depth his proposals would know. I could equally say that much of what McCain says is devoid of content. For example, he almost daily states "I have a plan to solve the Iraq problem". Well what exactly is this plan? He certainly provides no details in his speeches. I assume he has one but it is not given at stump speeches. Obama is no less specific in his speeches than McCain.

Jonah:

Superbly written piece.

That's what Hugh Hewitt has dubbed Senator Biden. Having watched him on the Sunday shows for two plus decades I can attest to the accuracy of that.

He ventures into unknown territory with an unparalleled temerity, displaying his ignorance at every turn. To wit, he championed the idea of breaking Iraq in to its three ethnic/religous parts--the height of stupidity.

Obama could have chosen Sam Nunn, a thoughtful, articulate, and credible candidate for VP, but he went with the windbag. Horrible judgment.

Oh oh oh, I must stand corrected
Goodness gracious -- 8 years in the state senate and 3 terms. Oh oh oh, wowee zowie -- now there's a credential to lead the greatest country in the free world if I ever saw one.

Sorry, Falicoff, of course we are all free to vote for whomever we please. Wikipedia is not considered a real source of anything to anyone. And one thing for sure: McCain (who is NOT my favorite Republican by any stretch) is 160% correct when he says that Obama is dangerously unprepared to lead this country.

I will always maintain, if Barack Obama were white, he would sitting in the background eating Hillary's dust. Few want to say he's not qualified because hordes of sheeple jump at them and call them racists. I'll say it. He's not qualified. He has the thinnest resume I've ever seen and it will be a fearsome day in h*ll if this "above my pay grade" fool is elected to leave the U.S. If he were white, he would never have made it this far. Period.

Was reading your various posts - I'm curious, are you in fact recommending a guy who's main claim to the presidency is five years in a prison camp? Who has voted with Bush and for his policies over 88% of the time, and who will give us another four years of republican incompetence?

Weren't you the same people who voted for the current president on two spearate occasions? Are you now saying that voters should take your assessments seriously?

Oh, I forgot --
You are right about one thing - Americans just get dumber and dumber, each election elicits dumber and dumber rhetoric, and as we go down in history as a failing light we will elect the people who show us the way.

About Barako
At least McCain isn't a Marxist,such as Barak Hussein Obama,who isn't a true American.

Obama not fit for prime time.
Its amazing that there are so many People in this country that are ready to elect a guy like the obama for the 44th President of the Country, I can understand the 99% of black People who will vote for the Obama, he is one of their own, so they think. Its the rest of the White Liberal Elites I dont get. Forget about the White Liberal Guilt aspect for a minute. These White Liberals fancy themselves Intellectuals and some are actually educated, but really electing a President to run the most Powerful country on the Planet is not something to take lightly. This is not like voting for an American Idol. If Liberals really are Intellectuals, they certainly are not proving it by backing a Naive Junior Senator with less than 3 years experience. They must all be having a 60's acid flashback, the Liberalism has destroyed all their capacity for Critical thinking...

Iraq war
I think we have forgotten that if the Iraq war was not off the radar for most of the media Barack or really anybody from the other party would be way up in the polls. The democrats fought long and hard to keep things in Iraq a mess knowing that any improvement would dent their chances to regain the WH. It is horrible to think that political party agendas is more important than national security of the lives of those protecting us, but winning is everything. They assumed that based on the low poll numbers for Bush, the unhappiness about the war and loss of the majority for the republicans in both house and senate that electing a democratic president would be a walk in the park. We can thank General Petraeus and those Iraqis that stepped up to the plate and turned this election into a horserace. The other caveat was the spiking oil prices and thus a slower economy. Any presidential candidate sending a message to increase taxes for anybody is going to get the boot. Any presidential candidate that refuses to drill for more oil is going to get the boot. Barack is wobbling and thus the Biden pick because what I just described he is all to aware of.

I'm not surprise Obama failed
the "Presidential" test.

I'm surprised he can pass the "What is your name" test without someone whispering it into his ear, or putting it on a teleprompter or him.

And his running mate isn't any smarter.

Hey, Robert

BO's CREDENTIALS
Obama's record: Never found a tax he didn't like while Illinois Senator.

Read and heed:
http://www.americansforprosperity.org/index.php?id=5103&st ate=il

Due to BO and his ideological pals in the Chicago Dhimmicrat Party, Illinois has the highest state sales taxes in the nation, the highest gas prices of the "58" states, crumbling highways, rampant gang war in Chicago, and an unemployment rate 20% higher than the national average.

Vote for Obama for your slice of Illinois blue state "prosperity."

You must admit that Obama did better than presidential "Wanabees" from both parties in the primaries and caucuses. This is the first test of a Presidential candidate and people such as Romney,Dodd and Richardson failed miserably even with their supposed "experience" and lengthy resumes. Romney even had access to a personal fortune. Obama successfully beat even the Clinton machine with all its obvious advantages. It is interesting to note that when McCain was nearly out of cash his wealthy wife did not provide any monetary support (as far as I know). This is telling.

In terms of his age Obama is not even youngest candidate. Several were younger (Clinton) and many of those became Presidents of some note. Theodore Roosevelt (42yr) comes to mind. Lincoln was only 4 years older than Obama when he was elected. Some could argue he (Lincoln) had no executive experience and no more legislative experience than Obama (Lincoln served 4 terms in the Illinois house of representatives and 1 term in the US house of rep.)

We shall see what happens. My guess is that the next President, whomever it is, will do much better than the current one.
